Lilliandra Caemaire Lore Dump! (my Last Dragonborn OC)

Here's a shot from her ref sheet that I swear I might finish if I ever figure out some clothes for her. (I dunno why clothing is hard to draw)

Some of this is copied from my convo with @lathepoquerose. She encouraged me to lore dump. :)) Some of this kinda spoils a few things for the fic. Please be gentle. Genuinely anxious about sharing her 🫣

Firstly, she's actually a villain protagonist

At 6' 10", she's my towering Altmer/Nord! Born under the Ritual in 4E 100 on Summerset Isles.

She's got vitiligo over her heart/left breast and prefers wearing clothes that cover up to her neck.

She's a bard illusionist and self-taught thaumavocalist. Also will do anything to get what she wants, including necromancy. But definitely enjoys charming or cursing people, or experimenting spells on people.

In a fight, her combat class would more specifically be Fear Mage and she's one for a reason. 😅 Her chaotic reasoning is basically: "Summerset Isles will lose a citizen/noble, but the Shivering Isles might gain a new citizen!" (Obviously opens up to just, the Shivering Isles might get a new citizen! when she starts travelling through all of Tamriel) Though she's doesn't use curses (that have prolonged effects) regularly, and might use them as just regular spells to fuck with her opponent/victim. When she lived in Cyrodiil for a few years, she got into the Arena because of sheer boredom and a way to release her anger. She gained some epithets during her time fighting.

She has mild thalassophobia - partially due to almost drowning when she was five.

She wears jewelry and accessories, and regularly rotates out to new ones - all are enchanted by her, to fit the occasion (ex. fighting or performing)

She will have one unenchanted, plain ring to fidget with, specifically transmuting from solid to liquid to solid again.

After one of her own experiments went wrong, she's slight of hearing in the left ear and the very left of her eyesight is foggy.

Besides the Dragonborn prophecy, she actually has another one. Born amidst summer, frost, and spidersilk, On the first nightsky after two years time. Thrice-betrayed by mer, beast, and man One returned with vengeance, the other with mercy, and the last with love. A being in the image of a dragon shall go against time. She has a prophecy about being the Shezarrine, though she doesn't find out until she's like 80, 20ish years before the game starts. She's been haunted by nightmares of previous Shezarrines actions (all of them have streaks of villainy honestly) and eventually hallucinations of things she can't recognize but feels like she intimately knows (the divines).

Has an intense interest in tonal architecture. Getting the idea of how the Dwemer disappeared, her ultimate goal is to literally tear reality apart to erase her/themselves from it - as in no more Lorkhan and the Shezarrines. The only reason she stops Alduin from eating the world is because it would have stopped her from her goal. Whether she manages her goal is an entirely different matter.

She's paired with Miraak: Ultimate (villain) power couple lmao

Lathe asked: Was it the hallucinations that drove her to want to tear apart reality or is she just evil af? It's a combination of things. Her mother is sociopathic and taught her that the ends ALWAYS justify the means. Also she knows of the prophecy and is trying to mold her daughter to fit it/make sure she succeeds. The hallucinations/nightmares definitely wear on her sanity, but she grows to get used to them (when that really means she's totally losing it.) And while she doesn't get a dragon soul until she's 101, she still has that innate dragon nature for destruction/domination.

But also to add to the answer: it's kinda an And I Must Scream situation (toyed with); the torturous existence of memories (memories she's dipped into, stored within Nirn's waters) that aren’t her own and knowing she (Lorkhan) will continue for all time to repeat life, walking among mortals - an existence that causes her to want to rip reality apart and take herself out of it forever - or at least try to.

Is she cringe? She probably is. Guilty pleasure of writing a power fantasy, I suppose. Honestly, reading a few theories on Reddit years ago about the Dragonborn being a Shezarrine just clung to my brain.

tornadoes are something that terrified me as a little kid, no doubt due to television. (i can remember a nightmare from early childhood about a tornado.) i grew up in eastern PA, where at the time we didn't have any. so it was the IDEA of them that terrified me. honestly, it still does. i would very very VERY much prefer never to live in a place that gets them with any regularity.

the natural disasters that i can deal with are hurricanes, and blizzards. both of those are things you see coming for DAYS. you can get out ahead of them. you can take steps to protect your house and your pets and yourself. (i mean, both of those in theory, assuming you have the means and the financial situation.) earthquakes and tornadoes are too sudden for me and that's why they scare me.

oh you're not the only one who's had a tornado nightmare! one of the worst nightmares I've had in my entire life was a tornado nightmare!

I think that what allows me to continue living in a tornado-prone area despite my general anxiety over like, idk, life, is two things: 1) tornado predictions give a crazy amount of warning nowadays, and 2) I live in a tornado-prone area, I've had a few close calls, but it's not like I live in Moore, Oklahoma lmao.

most tornado warnings aren't even that a tornado has been spotted by someone or confirmed by radar. most of them are "radar indicated rotation", meaning that a thunderstorm with a rotating cloud has been detected on radar. which doesn't mean tornado. it does mean a storm capable of a tornado and more likely to produce one, but it doesn't mean a tornado. or even a funnel cloud!

very VERY rarely are people caught off guard by a tornado anymore. FEMA says the average amount of time between a tornado warning being issued and the tornado or storm striking the area is 10 to 15 minutes. plenty of time to grab your emergency kit and go to your safe place. we have tornado watches if the weather is favorable and often know days in advance whether we'll be hit by weather conducive for tornadogenesis.

and even when we don't know in advance, like I said, we still have plenty of warning! about a week ago, I woke up to sirens, then ten minutes later, heard them again. which I knew likely meant a tornado warning had been issued (the first time, I checked my phone and saw it was severe thunderstorm and just rolled over to sleep some more lol). and before I could check, my phone went off, blaring the same alarm as an Amber Alert. which I knew 100% meant tornado warning. and it was. my roommate and I had time to use the bathroom, grab the dogs and emergency bag, and even take the dogs outside really quick to pee before the storm hit us! and we didn't have a tornado watch in effect. there weren't supposed to be conditions for tornadoes that morning.

and like I said, I don't live in Moore. if I did, I wouldn't even DREAM of living somewhere without a basement. as it is, I fucking hate that my best option is a hallway on the first floor. we've gotten tornadoes before. some have gotten close to me. one literally lifted over a building I was in. but thankfully, we're not as prone as other locations in my state; the storms tend to lose some steam by the time they reach here. and the tornadoes that do spawn tend to be lower level, again, because of the storms losing steam by the time they get here.

I know a lot about the science of tornadoes and grew up in Tornado Alley (or adjacent, depending on what graphic you use), so I know that our current methods are so flipping good at protecting us. we DO have warning. not as much as for a hurricane, but generally speaking, enough to, like I said, use the bathroom and grab the pets. earthquakes...yeah those don't typically give much warning, but that's something scientists are working on. buildings in earthquake-prone areas are built to withstand them (much like many buildings in tornado-prone areas are built to withstand severe storms), and people grow up learning what to do in an earthquake. (which is find a table to hide under, essentially, btw.)

Haha I think I've lost count- I have two big Hunter x Hunter things I'm working on rn, one being the poster with all my fave characters and the other's a Journal style fiction for my OC I'm slowly posting on another blog... and it's about 30k words, most likely will be double or triple the length once I'm fully done with it (unless my motivation dies first lol)

I'm also trying to get a more professional portfolio ready to apply for character designing jobs, based on the creatures I've dreamed over the years! (And in the meantime I also gotta find a like- regular job so I can start saving up to hopefully move out soon- stressful stressful)

Other than that I also have a collab in the works with a friend and... a bunch of other tiny projects I keep in rotation depending on how I'm feeling

i've read that the more niche your thing is in sw, the more money you rake in. example, specific fetishes can rake in bank, but do you find that to be true or is it exaggerated?

so there's some truth to that! it's not quite so cut and dry, though.

some people hear that and think, "oh, if I get into balloon popping, I'll make enough to quit my job!" but, while it IS true that harder to find fetishes are worth more money, they're harder to find because, well... less people are looking for them! you can only rely on someone with deep pockets up to a certain point.

the best thing to do is to get into several main niches -- a former mentor of mine (who I will leave unnamed, but was enormous in the industry) suggested up to 4 main ones to focus on with most of your content. so instead of just balloon popping, you might mainly rotate through balloon popping, small penis humiliation, blackmail, and hypnosis (btw blackmail and hypnosis are both very tricky but VERY profitable if you can do them right!)

you can and should throw in other kinks, of course, but you want a "brand" people can expect when they go to you! experiment, do testing, but let people know that they can always count on you for, idk, horny therapy or cake crushing.

personally, I've found much success with niching down. I have 2 main personas I operate under. one is actually SO niche that practically no one else on the internet does it*, so I won't be self-reporting on that, but the other is a far more common cosplay fetish and weird rp type account. by "weird," I mean outlandish things like inflation, giantess, transformation, etc. I keep myself open to most things under that umbrella that don't violate the TOS of the site I'm on, and for that, I have a good amount of loyal regulars who tell me I'm the best rper they've ever seen, lmao. I tell them it's because I rp and write fanfiction. they love it.

*this is one of those rare instances where something is actually so sought-after and secretly popular with people that I can make most of my living on that account despite being so unusual most people don't cater to it. it has overlap with other fetishes, though, so I pepper those in to entice people to interact with my main umbrella niche. sorry to be so vague! it's just that, while some accounts will dabble in that fetish occasionally, I'm practically the only one who does it for the majority of my content and for my whole persona, so it's very identifying. if you get to know me off anon, though, I usually tell my friends, haha! just have a few particularly vicious e-stalkers who I'm trying to keep from linking that account to my others.

i don't think i could actually rank them past my top spot so in no particular order:

-my ultimate blorbos, max and ivy. they are my kids who i rotate in my brain all the time like rotisserie chicken. i cannot separate them, they are like pair bonded kittens. i am holding them up to the screen. i will never stop thinking about how their stories played out in the long run. there's just something about being marked for death but managing to avoid it. instead, they lived long enough to kill the god who tried to kill them, and i am so proud of them forever. also they did funny things with the sim >:)

-jaylen hotdogfingers. the first blaseball player who took up so much space in my brain. i love her so much. i remember staying up until like 2am because we had a feedback game against the mechs and jaylen was pitching for the mechs. it was a really emotional moment when she came back to seattle. i took so much emotional damage when she got alternated, but i love jaybot too. i miss both of them so much ;A;

-chorby soul, for many of the same reasons i love jaylen but also because there's a different kind of tragedy in their story. jaylen was resurrected because she was loved. chorby was resurrected because they were identified as someone who could break the game. and then they got bitten over 200 times by sharks and got trapped in a cycle of death and resurrection until getting forcibly pulled from the league. they deserved so much more and i would give them so many hugs if i could.

-parker macmillan, the poor little meow meow of all time. part of it is his tragic backstory and part of it is me patting tgb on the back for creating The Blorbo Of All Time™. he killed so many people and it literally wasn't even his fault. he's divorced and upset about it. he got hyped up as this guy who was going to bring about the end of the world in season 24......and then he didn't. he only killed one team and it was so funny. also he kept switching between the pies and the garages. that was also funny. i'm glad he gets to be just a regular guy who kind of sucks on the crabs. good for him!

-there are so many players who could take this fifth spot because there are so many players i just really like who also happen to not be plot characters, but i'm gonna give this spot to alaynabella hollywood because i just think she's neat. i like werewolves and werewolf-adjacent characters. also she started out as a pitcher who absolutely sucked ass, which was the reason i got attached to her in the first place. she pitched s15d37 (the cursed game where max and nan almost exploded) and won, but at what cost (one of her friends almost exploded and another one got bitten by sharks and observed.) we moved her to batting, where she was pretty decent. i think this might have been what ultimately inspired us to move mike townsend to batting, where he hit Two Grand Slams before getting redacted for being too good at grand slams. and the funniest part of layna's entire career was ending the expansion era as a pretty good pitcher! you love to see it, but also i miss the season 14 pitching dumpster fire 💜

So the status update so far is "Pretty good, 'nother wall, decided to tear apart my entire loadout to see if starting it from scratch gives me new ideas" lol

- so I'm in the middle of experimenting with some ideas there right now.

Eternity Golem gave me some trouble for a bit and I wouldn't mind killing him a couple more times, but I got a couple wins and enough loot so I'm "good".

The "wall" is honestly me slamming into Betsy like 30 times (not checking to see exact amount) because I wanted to and got "close" (like 30% health) a few times.

I also tried lunatic once, I Am Not Using The Whip+Summoner Setup Against Him In This Mod Because That Was A Mistake lol

The second he did his clone move I'd accidentally hit it every single time despite trying- so that was death as you'd imagine, though I did last like 5 entire rotations despite that which was interesting.

Duke's an option, but I suck ass at regular Duke and this is Eternity Duke. I tried a few times, it didn't go great- did make it to phase 2 at least but considering how that melted me and phase 3 is apparently "What if Duke's final phase was really pissed at you?" I think that'll be a rough grind.

Empress is also an option but honestly almost all of my experience against Empress is cheesing her- so uh- not confident since I doubt any cheese works here since plenty of bosses that do bullet hell phases in this mod also arena trap you- and she's EMPRESS, so I'm assuming she'll arena trap me which will make cheese likely a no-go.

IDK. I feel like the smart money is on just slamming into Lunatic a few times to get the manipulator which should give me a few upgrades and make my choices much more appealing, we'll see.

In the mean time I'm officially at the "Fuck with all my equipment again and see if there's anything Silly that might kick some ass" phase of my playthrough again lol

Despite my best efforts to make this a primarily ranger or mage playthrough since I always end up going melee and summoner- I've been doing exclusively melee and summoner, as always 🙄 I just can't stay away lmao

Nearly all of pre-hardmode I went melee but told myself "It's pre-hardmode, who cares if I use night's edge for the millionth time since it's buff, I'll be ranger or mage in hard mode!" then didn't lol

The weird thing is where my equipment has landed lately. I'm in the middle of tossing all of it aside and reframing a new build, but for the last LOOOOOOONG while I haven't even had any real wings which is bizarre for my hard mode experiences.

The Pure Heart + Aeolus boots have pretty much done all I usually use wings for.

(btw, it's weird as hell that the Pure Heart uses wings to craft it and gives you the wing buffs that make wings better, but it ISN'T wings and doesn't COUNT as wings- even the wiki is like "It combines all the effects of the previous items" no it doesn't! It loses being wings!)

The jumps are extremely speedy and are great for avoiding most bosses-

Now, Most, is a key word because the lack of direct concise control (something WINGS would accomplish 🙄) has made precision bullet hells awkward.

For instance, due to some bug that I sincerely hope doesn't happen again (please dear god), my progress wonk'd itself and my world kicked me out of eternity mode, reset the inventory progress of the fargo NPCs (all those reliable enemy summon items gone because it forgot I ever unlocked them :( ) and forgot that I ever fought any of the fargo specific bosses. (I mean, my boss book remembers my stats and unlocks and times, but it somehow also says I never fought them in this world and the NPCs agree)- due to that I had to refight them so it'd stop annoying me and the hallow light boss put up a surprising challenge because I could no longer easily glide around his orbs. Whoops.

Anyways, I'd been using Pure Heart + Aeolus for mobility

The Dubious Circuitry (Mech boss combine accessory) / Lump of Flesh (Fleshy-combine accessory) / Bionomic Cluster (biome combine accessory) for a ton of utility.

Dubious primarily for the defensive stuff, Flesh for the big damage buffs, and Bio for the QOL of potions and, well I mean

And then the last 2 slots were filtering through primarily damage oriented enchantments and at some point the celestial shell.

Overall this is all fine, but it's not focused on anything really.

All this usually came to service a whip and summon tbh. Lately it's been Xeno staff and Dark Harvest but it's been a handful of things including the more active summon weapons like the expixive and destroyer gun back before I had more summon armor options that let me play with more than 3-4 slots.

Kinda just the 5 biggest "bunch of stats and effects" items I have and then 2 free slots to attempt and make things coherent, not that that's terrible or anything but now I'm thinking about re-assessing some of those stat piles to see if they actually help /me/ or if they just pad out my list of immunities.

So I'm in the middle of experimenting right now but what I'm currently thinking is that the dubious and flesh might not be the way to go right now, and that maybe I should bring back the pure heart since at some point I phased it out in favor of just the boots.

Lump is quite literally 30% more damage so long as I keep the cursor accurate which hasn't been much of an issue, as well as some laser damage sometimes that I don't abuse enough, and then the rest I either disable or don't use (parry that debuffs you and ground slam). I think something could fill the slot better despite what it brings (also I just feel funky having a parry that debuffs you hence why I don't use it, feels more like "risk risk reward" when I could just get better at dodging).

Dubious was almost entirely just there to prevent some debuffs and give defense. Like that's just about it, so when I really thought about it I figured that's probably a replaceable thing as well.

Regardless, mixing things up, I think I will play around with some more wizard enchant nonsense- the spectre enchant seems like a silly one if I get aggro enough about it. I rambled enough after this session- equipment in shambles, build torn apart to try slamming different things together, might go for ranger or mage or might just use my terra blade and enjoy the defense of some melee gear- anyways I've made it quite a bit deeper if my line of trophies is anything to go by, been fun :P

Any tips for improving vocab?

oh yes!!! i think vocabulary is something that varies depending on audience (typically with a change in diction), so for expanding vocabulary, there's a few ways to go about it my personal favorite is to look up synonyms for mundane words and pick out the ✨ fancy ✨ ones, then make a challenge of using those words on a regular basis for a short period of time. for example, while on a synonym hunt for words meaning dark, i hapsed across "tenebrosity" as a word — the state or quality of being dark — and i was like, "ah, cool, i like this word!" and it now makes regular rotations in my creative writing. the thing is, once you've used a word for a while and familiarized yourself with it, even if you stop using it, it doesn't go anywhere! it just stays in the back of your mind, and when you're looking for a word to use, it'll pop up. i tend to focus on one or two words that are on the more idiosyncratic side at a time and they just... become my personality for a while. i think my professor would come to class drunk every day if he had to take a shot for every time i used "gelid" (meaning cold) in a piece of writing, lol. alternatively, you could do a LOT of reading and pick out the words that speak to you, run 'em through a dictionary, and find ways to incorporate those, too! it doesn't even have to be reading books — tabloid articles, newspaper columns, and *ahem* fanfiction all use some damn good words. the third way that i like to pick up language is homestly just to talk to people lmao. i find that you can absorb a lot of language just by having conversations, especially with people who use particularly appealing vocabulary. it might be easier to pick up regional vocab this way (which is also cool!) but if you talk to enough people, you'll surely amass a fine array of perfectly splendid vocabulary :) 🖤

some thoughts:

1. the rose-scented incense papers are worth every penny. they’re fun to light and perfume the room and the adjoining hallway with a sherbety sweetness.

2. the shoes were indeed pinker than they appear on the screen—a dusky pink/mauve which was perf for me bc my wardrobe is made up of varying shades of dusky pinks. i really like them and am considering getting a second pair in either the cream or bright white colourways.

3. i bought a travel-size of the marvis jasmine mint toothpaste out of curiosity and it’s—fun! i wouldn’t go out of my way to replace my regular toothpaste, but the travel size is going in my overnight bag and i might buy a full-size for the bathroom.

4. the perfume sample of seminalis is just as conflicting as the reviews make it out to be. 💀 i’ve been suffering from a bad case of ennui lately and part of that has been my complete and utter disdain and boredom with seeing the same five fucking perfumes over and over again on tiktok. it’s always “get that clean-girl smell!” and it’s always a mix of idk, lemon and soap and while they’re nice scents, i just want to see some variety!!!! so anyways to combat that i slunk around my favourite sites and shortlisted a couple of perfumes that sounded like they’d be interesting to sniff. seminalis, with the divided reviews, is first up on the chopping block and i have feelings about it!!!

it’s milky and has a cookie-like note that could almost be pleasant but there’s a layer of what i can only describe as bleach lathered over it that makes me feel vaguely ill—it’s weird! weird because that should be off-putting, but despite how it’s churning my stomach i do kinda like it LMAO. 💀 altogether it reminds me of the biscuity scent of unwashed skin??? like, it’s not unpleasant but it is funky. i don’t really consider myself a fraghead, despite living on fragrantica, because my collection is mostly made up of the same kind of notes (roses, the occasional jasmine, sweet smells and some white woods for the winter)—but depending how i feel at the end of my sample i may just add this to the rotation while the weather is still relatively cool. i can’t imagine it doing well in summer—so far it seems like it has a pretty decent projection so i think that’d be suffocating in the heat, but we’ll see!

Thoughts on the sith warrior and the new leveling system to excuse yet another photoset of my newest character :

So this is I believe the third time I'm playing the sith warrior story. You might be surprised to hear that I considered the sith warrior story one of my least favorite to play, I just ended up playing it more than once for one reason or another. More than that, I only now on my third playthrough finally seem to be in the right mindset to enjoy and have fun with the story.

I was roleplaying light and mixed characters before with the warrior. My pureblood sith was someone I wanted to sort of resemble Lana from the getgo; powerful but logical, more calm than a regular sith. That translated in a pretty boring playthrough for me. Even though I had great fun playing a lightside inquisitor previously, this time I couldn't make it work for my warrior, even though he still made plenty of dark side choices.

Now, I'm playing as my Jedi main's sister, which from the getgo, I knew would be a lot like him: arrogant, overconfident in their skills, and cocky (my Jedi is very, very flawed). She is hardened more than her brother, due to being left alone for a while after he got taken by the Jedi. Until the Sith found her, and encouraged her lust and display of power that her brother had to try and keep under wraps in favor of being a Jedi. So she is basically an unhinged version of him, a what could have been.

The result is just a ton of fun. The voice actress is at her best when doing hilarious lines like 'I'm going to kill you and eat you all raw!' and displaying over the top sith powers fits her so well. I'm just having a ton of fun and I'm already nearing the end of chapter 2 I believe. Imagine last time I had to force myself to slog through it all! It's really all in the mindset.

As for the new level up system:

I'm playing as a Sentinel with her, which was basically a way for me to test the sentinel to see if I wanted to use it as my Jedi's second combat class. I already gave my pureblood the marauder second combat style so I wanted to compare.

What I've noticed, and I don't know if that was the case before, but I'm now level 37 and I have very little choice in abilities. My rotation is extremely simple and straightforward. This is fine, except I only have one focus building ability, so I find myself just hitting with my basic attack a lot to build focus. I've also found myself being exceptionally squishy, and my companions being absolute trash at healing me. And I do mean it. I don't know what changed, but my companions seem more focused on healing themselves or hitting the enemies (which they do a shit job at doing anyway) rather than healing me. It's not great. But I think, I THINK I like the sentinel animations better than marauder, save for the 'upgraded' slash ability she just got which makes the animation really slow for some reason, which I absolutely hate. For marauder the equivalent replacement is sharp and fast I believe. Wish I could merge the two.

And that's my rambling done for the day lmao. At least it's not gearing talk for once!

HI and thank you to those of you who requested this!! i want to preface that this is NOT canon in the rotations universe (if that’s a thing lmao), it’s just a fun what if that i am writing :) but this is not canon for my fanfic!! i just feel the need to reiterate that lmao

(Y/N) had been no stranger to nightmares throughout her life. Haunting images of ghosts and monsters plagued her occasionally but usually faded away with time. They would wake her in the middle of the night with a start and beating heart, but she would find her way back to sleep eventually. 

When (Y/N) opened her eyes, she found her reality to be the nightmare. She turned over in bed and stared at the empty space, perfectly untouched. She shut her eyes tightly and lay there for a few minutes, trying her hardest to suppress the tears that threatened to spill onto her pillowcase. 

The door to her bedroom creaked open and her daughter, Izumi, poked her head into the room. She was nine now, the same age that (Y/N) had been when she had met Zuko, and had a hard time comprehending what was going on. 

(Y/N) sat up quickly, painting a smile on her face for her daughter. “Good morning, little petal,” She said, outstretching her arms. Izumi padded quickly to her bedside, lifting herself onto her bed and fitting into (Y/N’s) lap. Her head rested against her chest and she could feel her mother’s heartbeat. 

“I dreamed about him again,” Izumi whispered quietly. (Y/N) gripped her daughter tightly, pressing her lips onto the crown of her dark head. 

“What was he doing?” (Y/N) asked. 

“He smiled at me,” Izumi said. “He said he missed us.” (Y/N) held in the sob that threatened to wrack her body. She wanted, no needed, to be strong for Izumi. (Y/N) was all she had left. 

Izumi turned, sitting up to face her mother. “You can cry, Mommy. Daddy said it’s okay to cry.” 

(Y/N) felt all of her resolve break. In an instant, it was Izumi holding her mother and (Y/N) sobbed into her daughter’s hair. She held Izumi so tight because she feared if she let go, she would fade away. Their daughter was the only piece of Zuko that she had left. She had his dark hair and amber eyes. Every facial expression she made was a near copy of her father’s. It made (Y/N) feel horrible to admit it, but sometimes she couldn’t look at her own daughter. 

When (Y/N) had started to calm down, Izumi sat up. Her own tears streaked down her face. (Y/N) wiped them away with her thumbs and kissed both of her cheeks. Izumi did the same to her. “I miss him a lot,” Izumi said, her bottom lip wobbling. (Y/N) hugged her daughter once more. 

“Me too,” She said. (Y/N) sniffled and wiped away more tears. “We have to get ready for today. The servants should have placed a white dress in your closet.” 

“I don’t want to wear it,” Izumi sighed. (Y/N) gulped. 

“I don’t either,” She said. “But it’s the best way to honor your father.” Izumi nodded and hopped off of the bed, walking out of the bedroom and returning to her room. Slowly, (Y/N) slid out of bed and moved over to the window. The sun still rose and the birds still sang in the trees. She wondered how life could continue when something so horrible had happened. 

The servants helped her get ready that morning. They fastened her into her white dress and started braiding her hair until she had ordered them not to. Zuko had told her once that he liked it when it was down. “It’s wild like you,” He had said with a smile on his face. (Y/N) could feel the pain stab her in the heart whenever she thought of him. 

Once dressed, she left the room and walked down the Hall of Fire Lords. At the very end was Zuko’s portrait. His eyes were kind, his lips painted with just a lilt of a smile to them. (Y/N) reached out and touched the fabric, holding her palm to it before continuing down the hallway. 

When she reached the dining room, her friends were sat around the table, entertaining Izumi. She sat in Katara’s lap as Aang amazed her with his airbending. (Y/N) felt a genuine smile raise to her lips for the first time in days. 

Sokka was the first one to notice her. He was at her side almost immediately, taking her hands in his. His blue eyes stared into her soul. 

“Don’t hug me,” She whispered to him. “I might break down.” Sokka smiled sadly and walked her over to the dining table. Numbly, she sat at her regular seat, to the right of Zuko’s chair at the head of the table. She chewed the food that the servants had prepared for her, but she couldn’t taste it. She avoided to fruit tarts at all costs. 

“How was your trip?” She asked, directing the question to all of her friends. 

“Pretty good,” Toph said. She hadn’t even sat with her feet propped on the table like she normally would. (Y/N) sat her chopsticks down and wiped her mouth, turning to Izumi. 

“Would you please feed the turtle ducks this morning? They must be wondering where we are.” Izumi pouted and opened her mouth to argue with her mother, but Aang grabbed her by the hand. 

“I’ll go with you,” He said. (Y/N) flashed him a thankful smile as he led Izumi out of the room. 

“You all don’t have to pretend like there’s nothing wrong,” (Y/N) assured her friends as she stared down at her plate. “I’m not fragile.” 

“We know,” Katara assured her, resting a hand on hers. “This is...this is hard for all of us. But we want you to know that you don’t have to be strong right now.” 

(Y/N) opened and clenched her fist around the sleeves of her dress. The feeling was the only thing grounding her to reality. She laughed bitterly. “I haven’t stopped crying for days,” She admitted. “Izumi wiped away my tears this morning. I haven’t been strong at all.” 

“You have,” Sokka whispered. “You’re the strongest person I know.” She turned to look at him. It had barely been a year since he had lost Suki. It had been during a battle and she had died fighting. If anyone knew what she was going through, it would be Sokka. 

“I don’t know if I can do it without him,” (Y/N) whispered, her eyes watering once more. She didn’t even know what ‘it’ was, but as far as she cared it could be everything. Zuko had been at her side since she was a child. Everything she had ever done, she had done with him. 

“You don’t have to,” Toph reassured her. “You have us to help.” 

The funeral was long. (Y/N) stood by Zuko’s coffin with her head raised regally, Izumi at her side. If she couldn’t stay strong behind closed doors, she would definitely stay strong for the people of the Fire Nation. She watched as the people in attendance weeped for the death of their Fire Lord. Barely any of them had known Zuko personally, but it warmed her heart the tiniest bit to think he could have positively impacted them in any way. 

At the end of the funeral, (Y/N) kneeled to the ground. The Fire Sages crowned her Fire Lord until Izumi came of age. They placed the very same crown that Zuko had worn in her hair and she had to squeeze her hands together to prevent them from shaking. 

Her friends stayed with her for a few days after the funeral, but one by one, eventually they were called away. Toph was the first to leave, having to run her earthbending academy. Aang left shortly after on an important Avatar mission. (Y/N) could tell that Katara missed him, so she assured her friend that she would be fine and that she should be with him. 

“Take it from me,” (Y/N) said sadly. “You’ll want to spend every moment you can with him.” 

The only one that remained was Sokka. He read to Izumi every night before she slept and kept her company while (Y/N) attended Fire Lord meetings. He ate every meal with them and while (Y/N) enjoyed his presence, she worried that he was neglecting his duties by being with them. She expressed this to him one night, after Izumi had gone to bed. 

“I’m not missing anything the Water Tribe can’t handle by themselves,” He admitted. “I get the occasional messenger hawk, but I always reply back as quickly as possible.” He had grabbed her hand and given it a tight squeeze. “I’m not going to leave you anytime soon.” 

His room was the guest room down the hall from hers. Sometimes, in the middle of the night, (Y/N) would wake up sobbing hysterically. She rarely dreamed but when she did, they were always of Zuko. She dreamt that he was laying next to her, or that he had disappeared in the palace, but she always found him again. He would take her into his arms, laughing happily, and always he would say, “Do you know how much I love you?” 

That was the moment (Y/N) would wake up, her sobs wracking her throat and shaking her body. Tears would stream down her face faster than she could wipe them away. Sokka would then enter her room, half asleep, and hold her as she cried. She’d try to explain to him what had happened in her dream, but no words what come out. He never pressured her to answer. He would stroke her hair to soothe her and rub his fingers up and down her back. Eventually, she would fall asleep from pure exhaustion, and when she had woken up again, he would be gone. 

Sokka spent months at the royal palace with (Y/N) and Izumi. He was definitely lying to (Y/N) when he had told her he wasn’t missing much from the Water Tribe, but there was no way he would leave her side. Even if he put his feelings for her aside, (Y/N) had been a constant in Sokka’s life when he had lost Suki. She had traveled to the Water Tribe in the dead of winter to offer her condolences from her family. The least he could do was remind her that she wasn’t completely alone in the world. 

It hurt him, knowing she was hurting this much. She had loved Zuko with her whole heart, and Sokka had known that. That’s why he had broken up with her so many years ago. He had seen the longing glances they had given each other over the months she had joined their team. He hadn’t felt right in standing between what was meant to be. But while he hadn’t known then, Sokka certainly knew now that he loved (Y/N) with his entire being. He had for a long time and just hadn’t realized it. And he would take this secret with him to the grave. 

(Y/N) stood on the balcony of her bedroom late in the night. The moon was full and cast a bright light down onto the turtle duck pond below her. Sometimes, (Y/N) found it was better for her not to sleep. She knew “better” wasn’t quite the truth, but she hadn’t had a dream about Zuko in a few nights and feared that it would happen tonight. And while she wanted to see her husband more than anything, she didn’t think she could handle waking up and realizing that he was no longer there. 

She heard her door crack open and turned back to see who it was. Sokka entered her room, his eyes wide with curiosity. He smiled at her once he laid eyes on her. “Izumi’s asleep.” 

“Thank you,” (Y/N) said. He joined her on the balcony. “I’m worried she’s going to start hating me for not reading to her more.” 

“She could never hate you,” Sokka said. “You should hear the way she talks about you. ‘Mommy’s so strong. Did you know she’s the best firebender in the world?’“ (Y/N) laughed at Sokka’s Izumi impression. It was high pitched and sounded absolutely nothing like her daughter. 

“Best firebender in the world is a stretch, I think. Aang definitely has me beat by a little bit.” 

“Nah,” Sokka said, nudging her with his elbow. “You could definitely take him.” 

(Y/N) chuckled, staring at her fingers as they wrapped around the railing of the balcony. “I haven’t cried at all this week,” She admitted to him. “I feel horrible.” 

“Why?” Sokka asked. 

“Because I feel like not crying means I’m forgetting about him,” She sighed, tilting her face up to look at the moon. “And I’m scared that I’ll forget about him.” 

“You’ll never forget about Zuko,” Sokka said softly. “And I mean, it’s kind of hard to when his face is plastered all over the palace.” 

(Y/N) laughed again and Sokka felt his stomach flutter with butterflies. She turned to look at him, her face softening. “I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done over these past few months.” 

“What are friends for?” Sokka asked, but it hurt his own heart to say it. (Y/N) nodded, just the slightest bit of disappointment evident on her face. 

“Sometimes it feels like he’s watching me,” (Y/N) said. “It’s like I turn around and I can almost see him there.” 

“I’m sure he is watching you. You were the best part of his life.” (Y/N) blushed. 

“He’s one of the best parts of mine.” 

“He’d want you to try to be happy.” (Y/N) nodded. 

“I know. It’s just hard. And I’m scared.” 

“Scared?” 

“I guess I’m scared to open up again.”

“Oh. I know that feeling.” (Y/N) frowned. She felt like she had said something so insensitive to Sokka. How could she forget about Yue? About Suki?

“They’d want you to be happy, too,” She assured him.

“I am happy,” He said with a big smile. 

“Really? You’re happy cooped up in a palace with a widow and her daughter?” 

“Honestly, I’ve been the happiest I’ve been in a long time. I love Izumi and I love you.” (Y/N’s) smile faltered at his words. 

“We love you too.” Sokka shook his head. 

“I love you, (Y/N), always will.” 

“Sokka...” 

“And I know you’re not ready and you don’t know if you’ll ever be ready. But that’s okay with me. I just enjoy being around you.” 

(Y/N) grabbed his face between her hands and kissed him. Instinctively, his hands wrapped around her waist and pulled her close. When they pulled apart, both their eyes were wide with surprise. “I don’t know if that can mean anything,” She told Sokka. “I don’t know if I’m ready. I don’t-” 

“It’s okay,” Sokka assured her. He pulled her close and hugged her. “You don’t have to know. I’ll be here regardless.”

Do you have any tips for taking cyberpunk screenshots? I can never get the poses right for mine, and yours always are so gorgeous and expressive 🥺

Heya, anon! First off, tysm! I love taking screenshots in this game, it's practically become barbie doll simulator at this point lmao.

This is a pretty long one so screenie-info under the read-more!

I should preface as well that I play on PC, and a lot of my screenshots are enhanced by things that aren't available on console, aka...

When I take screenshots, a lot of the time it's via AMM (Appearance Menu Mod) which lets you swap V to NPCs or NPCs over other NPCs. For example, in my last two posts (this one and this one) I went to the scene where you first meet Panam and replaced her with my V! Same here, I replaced Panam when you see her in Afterlife talking to Rogue. This lets you get unique animations and poses etc for V that you otherwise just cannot get. 

Of course, it's absolutely possible to take screenshots just using the normal photomode with regular V. Here are some examples of shots I've taken without swapping using AMM, you might notice they're a lot less uh... "cinematic" I guess? [1, 2, 3, 4]

Another really big thing is the camera. I very rarely use the in-game's photomode camera for how limiting it feels. So, I use IGCS, which I believe now is hosted on patreon. It's very fiddly when you first start using it, and its default keybinds require a numpad, but after a while you get used to it. It lets you get those super close shots or interesting angles that the game won't let you by default (especially if you swap V over an NPC, as photomode's camera rotates around V (the player)).

Third and final - RESHADE! God, I can't stress how much I adore reshade. I don't have a "preset," I edit my settings on the fly but there's plenty to choose from on the nexus if you'd rather have it setup already (there isn't a reshade category but simply searching for "reshade" brings up the ones there). Here are some comparison shots of no reshade/my reshade settings for screenshots (I like quite dark but colourful settings)

Now, you could be seeing a lot of green in the no reshade pics due to pink overload and sensory deprivation in the reshade version BUT it’s pretty obvious looking at these comparisons that the default game looks pretty washed out, right? Hence why I love reshade so much. 

Another thing is the actual graphics of the game. I know not every computer is built to handle this game (for christ’s sake, I have a 2080ti and an i9 and I can’t get 30 fps on low) but for screenshots, I always up my graphics to ultra with rtx enabled. My computer can handle it, it’s not terrible, but it’s definitely not smooth either. But it makes SUCH a difference for screenshots. Example (it’s a gif):

If your computer can handle it, I’d DEFINITELY recommend upping graphics solely for screenshots! When you’re in a good spot, got a good pose, composition etc, just go and bump them up before entering photomode (I have the game on low settings all the time other than screenshotting!)

Necessary for their line of job, but definitely a plus for Melone due to his…tendencies and personality and interests. So I feel like he would be very into open minded people (like yourself) because that just means more acceptance and more things to try out ;)

He also loves collecting data/information on you, so whatever you talk about to him, he’s gonna be typing it down simultaneously!! So not only does he listen, he remembers (and has like 50 sub-folders on the stuff you say lol). This is mainly because he wants a more cohesive file on you. Like I said, he already believes you’re practically the perfect match for him with all the information he has on hand already, but his appetite for more information about you drives him to do this because it’ll just affirm for him that ‘ok wow this person really is my match made in genetic heaven’.

Ghia’s excitement comes in the form of rage and it happens often, so while he loves that you’re listening to him, I think he would almost never show you that he appreciates it. Also, if you’re talkative when he’s stressed or angry, he will yell at you to shut up. Ris would be straight forward (tells you that he’s not in the mood) and Melone would say stuff like “Not now. Later.” (but he doesn’t sound as gruff as Ris).

Ris is the same way with the quiet to talkative thing (in my HC at least), so getting past that initial stage would be hard as hell with him. Imo Melone would be the easiest to get past that stage, and Ghia…depends? If you keep pissing him off though (bc yk…tsundere with anger issues lol), he’ll be the hardest to get to a comfortable stage.

I HC Ris as having a routine set of things he enjoys doing and it’s on permanent rotation (I’m not saying he won’t go out of his comfort zone, but he knows what he like and if he doesn’t like something, it’s hard to change his mind), whereas with Ghia I HC him as only having 2 interests – cars (more specifically the type of car he drives) and knowing facts (+ disputing and ranting about them). Ris would indulge in some chaos once in a blue moon, but I feel like him & Ghia are set and happy with their current interests.

Melone however would be the most open in terms of what he’s willing to do as long as his safety is guaranteed or if the activity does not involve him getting hurt. Like stealing a yacht or hacking ur annoying neighbour’s computer system LOL

Because you bring that chaos, Melone would be the most fit with you. I know you’re probably like “Huh? Ain’t Ghia chaotic too?”, or “Wouldn’t Ris handle chaoticness the best?”, but chaos (Ghia’s) feeding into chaos (yours) might burn the both of you out, and Ris already deals with chaos 24/7 and he just wants to relax imo. Melone though, looks the most flexible and can probably match up with you the best because of that since he deals with Ghia and the rest on the regular without looking like he’s Tired™️ lol
