how does kilgharrah know merlins name? in prophecy hes known as emrys (and we see basically every magical being call him emrys and not merlin,, i think). so how does he know? did he stretch his neck long enough that he could somehow hear merlin? is it cuz theyre kin? is it cuz merlin and gaius were yelling so loudly that kilgharrah could hear them all the way in his cave? ig we’ll never know 🖐

the amount of sadness i feel hearing kilgharrah say “none of us can choose our destiny, merlin. and none of us can escape it” is INSANE cuz in season one you can SEE merlin trying to escape it. hes doing his damned best trying to have some control over his life. and then in later seasons you can see the light slowly drain from his eyes as he becomes just another toy for the gods to be entertained by. he realises he cant control a single thing about his life so he does the one thing he can: protect arthur. and he loses SO MUCH because of it! its not fair, he deserved so much, and when he finally got everything he could ever ask for, it was taken away from him by his own mistakes.

Conclusion: this episode is a 10/10 greatest episode with so many iconic scenes omg. mary collins u will forever have my heart for unintentionally kickstarting merlin and arthurs relationship destiny. i loved the whole thing and oh GOD does it already hurt knowing full well how the show ends

Nora Brosca x Sigrun

1. What drew your character to their LI and vice versa?

Literal manifestation of sunshine and laughter, Nora Brosca, used to be really cold, selfish, and paranoid back in the day. She grew up dirt poor with an alcoholic mom so she developed tough skin and a foul attitude before she could even speak full sentences. There was nothing more important than survival and that didn’t require smiling. So when she met the really cheerful Sigrun she was really annoyed with her at first and didn’t like her at all. 

They both got involved with the Carta when they turned 9 as cutpurses and spies. There were other kids they knew growing up whose names and faces they now don’t remember because they didn’t survive long enough to matter. But stupid, smily, Sigrun, somehow survived till they were both 16 and moved up in the rank, Nora as an assassin and Sigrun as a thief. By then Sigrun had become her friend just from Nora growing used to her presence. Sigrun’s smiles because contagious and each year Nora’s smiles came easier and her own cache of jokes and puns grew. Their life was hard but Sigrun taught her it could be bearable if you could at least laugh. Even in the face of death, laugh. Their paths split before they turned 20 (Nora is 24 during the Blight) but they always remember each other fondly.

From the Wiki: If a save is imported from Dragon Age: Origins with the Dwarf Commoner, Sigrun will know and be in awe of the Warden, stating that they are “The Duster that left to join the Grey Wardens” and will ask the Commander to sign her helmet.

So, in summary, the thing that originally repulsed Nora Brosca to the love of her life was the same thing that drew her in. Vice versa, Sigrun thought Nora was really cool, but also funny for taking everything so seriously.

5. How do they comfort each other when they are sad? 

Both of them are always cheerful in front of everyone else but around each other they let down their guards. They don’t try to force jokes and puns when the other clearly is not in the mood for it, so they’ll just hold each other’s hand or if they’re able to, cuddle in bed or their tent. If the other wants to talk about it, they talk. Otherwise, one will just talk about a memory they either shared or a funny one they think the other would like to hear about. Sometimes they will make up a story, often more and more ridiculous than last time to lighten the other’s mood.

23. Did you tailor your OC for the other in the romance?

Nope. Nora was actually originally made for Alistair since none of my 3 Main Wardens (Surana, Mahariel, Amell; the ones with Worldstates) had romanced him to completion. His jokes and sweetness were going to soften her or something but then when I was replaying Awakening for the third time I was seized AGAIN with the strong urge to hug Sigrun and protect her from everything, including herself. Then I realized Nora might have known her since they both grew up casteless so I changed her backstory a bit to include them being friends. The more I thought about it, the more I realized I liked the idea of two gal pals loving each other enough that they learn you don’t always have to be selfish and self-dependent (and also I’m all for childhood enemies to friends to lovers). It broke my heart and Nora’s to hear Sigrun talk so casually about her own death and honestly Sigrun is easy to fall in love with.

I’m glad it worked out this way because I much prefer Sigrun and Nora saving each other from themselves (Nora teaching Sigrun to want to live again and Sigrun, in the past, teaching Nora how to laugh) than just Alistair emotionally softening Nora and Nora emotionally hardening him. Nora being lesbian came from me thinking about how disdainful she was to her friend Leske for hitting on her, and from her complete disinterest in being a Noble Hunter like her half-sister. She respects those who do it but personally couldn’t bring herself to seduce a man. She just has no interest in them and wouldn’t even be willing to fake it.

I am no longer there, but is a anyone truly?

An empty wasteland waits in the place that used to be my home.

Dust settles on the remnants of my roof, and there is water on the pavement.

My garden is long dead, so i won’t stop to smell the flowers.

I won’t stop to visit graves.

I’ll stand on the road and I’ll water the pavement. The only unbroken thing left.

Cracks litter it and yet it stays, after years of no people on it.

I water the pavement that nobody else will, but i won’t stay here for long.

I’m leaving, and then it’ll truly be empty except for the wind that’ll come.

The wind flows, with no one to feel it. No one except me and my watered pavement.

I sit down on the doorsteps of a house, no longer mine.

I don’t wish to come back, but somebody’s got to water the pavement.

So for now, I’ll stay a bit longer.

Until the sun sets, i’ll sit here and wonder.

What happened to this ghost town? Why did I leave?

I don’t know, but it’s lifeless, no flowers to water, no people to talk to.

Just a pavement full of cracks and broken houses.

Just rusty old cars that no longer drive.

I get up and walk to the only car left.

The only one not overtaken by beetles.

As i drive back to my home, I know i don’t miss the old town.

But somebody has to water the pavement that no body else will.

1. Destiana is a nickname I made up when I was younger while trying out creative writing and it stuck :)

2. I was born in France and grew up there, but I’m actually half German and half Italian (which messes up with my brain most of the time). But I think this is one of the main reasons why I’m so curious about other languages and cultures and all :)

3. I have a huge imagination, and yes I’m still waiting for my Hogwarts letter even though I’m in College, so what? I also have a tendency to come up with the most ridiculous scenarios!

4. I have a tendency to hide behind my shell and keep things to myself, but I’ve been told to be a great listener :)

5. I’ve been playing the guitar since I was 8 or something (I’m now 22) and I’m pretty sure this is what made me fall in love with music :) <3

7. I chose to study Pharmacy because sickness takes away too many people away from us... But I’m actually a too sensitive of a soul to become a doctor, so I want to help by working on new medical treatments. Plus, I’m a science nerd, and Pharmacy is quite a mix of a lot of fields :) (it’s also the perfect thief of private life --”)

8. I’m a very smily person, always have been. My mother always tells me that people used to stop her in the streets when I was a baby because I was just sitting in the stroller grinning widely at everybody and they found it cute :D

9. I absolutely looove cats!!! We have 2 of them back at my parents’ place!

10. I really like living not far from the sea, though I’d like to live closer to it one day :)
