absurdly long tangent/analysis

EDIT FROM THE FUTURE: this isn't to dissuade anyone from interpreting the canon as they want i just wanted to share my personal opinions based on the preexisting canon that may or may not be very passionate, please just have fun do whatever you want none of this is fact

i really hate how utsuho is flanderized to death and constantly boiled down to "the dumb bird girl" because if you actually sit down and Read her dialogue instead of relying on secondhand information you learn quite a few things about her (when i say this is absurdly long i mean it so keep reading at your own risk)

extrapolating from her own dialogue:

she actually wanted to blow everything up in th11 for real and it wasnt just a "hehe whoops" kind of thing. she was bestowed an extremely powerful ability and deliberately wanted to use it to cause destruction/take over gensokyo

she is extremely knowledgeable about her ability and job (anything related to nuclear power and regulating the flames of blazing hell, or just things about former hell itself)

she takes her job very seriously and supposedly does it very well

but there are a few things that get people: she has poor memory, other characters refer to her as "birdbrained" or "empty-headed, and there are a select few instances of dialogue from hisouten/gouyoku ibun that catch peoples attention. its one of those things where because other characters (and people) say shes stupid, it influences everyone else! in my opinion, i think her own actions straight from the source are much more indicative of who she is rather than the quick judgements of other characters.

the first major point before i get into the specific dialogue in the fighting games: "kanako needed an empty-headed hell raven, and utsuho fit the bill"

what exactly is meant by "empty-headed"? this is going to be more of an abstraction, so definitely take it with a grain of salt. we dont know much about utsuho before she gained her powers, just that she worked as a lowly hell raven that helped around the palace of the earth spirits/hell. to me, it sounds like an incredibly mind-numbing job that really doesnt require much thinking to begin with, so of course you wouldn't expect some kind of supergenius from it. im also going to go out on a limb and say that utsuho was a candidate for kanako's plan because she's also considered a pet. many unfortunately conclude that pets can't be intelligent, and even the title of "pet" carries the connotation of inferiority. even if she was truly empty-headed as previously suggested, this doesn't mean that she stayed as such with no change at all. when i first played th11, i would have never guessed that she would be "the stupid one".

small note: ZUN's comment on her theme ("even a fool that possesses great power can't cause too much harm")

the problem i have with this is that she really would have caused a lot of harm if the protagonists hadn't stopped her. you could say shes a fool for letting the power get to her head, but objectively i cant exactly point to anything in th11's dialogue/scenarios that suggests she's foolish unless you really want to count bad memory-retention as such. not gonna argue this too hard, but it seems like "fool" is a word thrown around very freely with little thought to how you can actually apply it to a situation.

IN HISOUTEN: sanae beats her up and afterwards says "youre trying to help me, actually" to which utsuho is like "Oh Ok". you could argue this is probably her dumbest moment, but would you really not follow or listen to the person who defeated you in battle? its not the most defensible point, but she didnt even seem completely oblivious either when she was asking sanae about the incident. my personal interpretation is that she has a bit of a short temper related to how important her job is. there are plenty of other 2hus who are generally sillier than this, it doesnt make much sense why utsuho is the only one who gets this treatment.

IN GOUYOKU IBUN: utsuho doesnt notice reimu before she starts blasting her to bits, which to be fair reimu wears all red in Hell (her fault honestly) + correct me if im wrong but is the power of nuclear fusion not extremely blinding? supporting this, in the events of GI its also implied that shes being overworked due to the oil incident, and we already established that she takes her job very seriously, so to me it makes sense that her first thought is to "remove the contaminant" and to use a lot of her energy in the process. a lot of people in general sometimes get wrapped up in their own work to the point of hyperfocusing, i say the bird can do it too

i also havent brought up the fact that we dont exactly know wtf eating a god does to your brain, whos to say it didnt fuck with you a little bit?

past all of this though i still think utsuho is funny as hell with her particularly bold and uncaring personality, its just that people seem to think that a couple of goofy moments make up her whole character and its just mildly annoying to me.. subterranean animism will probably be my favorite portrayal of utsuho because of how seriously they all treat her (mostly) but overall i wish more touhou fans would actually indulge in the source material and think a bit deeper about this neat little piece of fiction that i am WAY too passionate about (also its just way more fun to look at characters from a complex perspective)

That’s pure mythology, we actually don’t know how Kencats gained sapience. It’s very unclear how closely or even if mages were involved in the first place. It could’ve just been natural evolution, like how Humans evolved on their motherworld. We don’t have good historical documentation from that time. 

To me it’s quite obvious why Humans don’t have intimate relationships with Kencats— while yes, there’s a large psychological difference, anatomically Kencats are no different from any other quadrupeds. A physical relationship between Kencats and Humans could be a slippery slope to some… unsavory behavior.

ok W.I.T.C.H. cartoon ppl let us talk about this thing, this mystery which would only disturb our peace of mind (ok my peace of mind), that age-old question of HOW THE HECK WAS IT WITH THE CAT

to put this into more eloquent wording: when (the heck) exactly in W is for Witch did Phobos take on the appearance of Napoleon and who knew? i really would like to know, how you guys saw it - and now im doing some absurdly excessive research for this tiny little detail lol - but like, it has implications

so, i generally thought he changed into the cat at some moment after he revealed to Will that he wouldnt mind Nerissa catching Napoleon, for he would gain more power then - and i kind of still think that - but i bumped into people just working with different schemes casually, and i thought it was truth that there were some things strange

i even met ppl thinking he was Napoleon already at the bookshop, but i don't think it is the case tbh - some of it was in discussions about this strangely nice smile that fandom goes nuts about lol

but phobos does some magic here - it's true napoleon could just pretend to be the one doing magic, while phobos, in the likeness of napoleon, would do it - but then the cat runs away and phobos-looking person still does magic, so it cannot be napoleon.. also would Phobos really go to flirt with that cat lol

also, generally, phobos says such stuff that it would make napoleon an insanely good impersonator :D (and imagine P. taking the effort to to talk like Napoleon lol) like, why not, maybe, but i have a meta argument against this, and that is that in V is for Victory the switch of appearances was clear to the viewer from a certain point, they did not switch tempers or even try to impersonate the other - so why would they do so here? i kind of think that, while at a point P. looked like N., N. might never have taken the looks of P. - although, im not certain

well, situation: in that exchange where Phobos says he doesnt give a shit about Napoleon being taken, Will seems to believe that she actually is speaking to Phobos - they could have been just playing it in front of Nerissa, who is present - but then Will also tells the girls that Phobos told this to her as a new information, and if it was a display, the girls would know it and they seem to be completely alone, so she wouldn't have to pretend at the moment - so here it seems to be truth

but the strange things are that 1) thereafter, phobos just doesnt act like it - he actually, just a moment later, is disguised as Napoleon and overpowers Nerissa without the Heart of Earth 2) when this happens, the others are waiting aside, holding the true Napoleon, seeming as if they are not surprised, as if it actually was the plan 3) if in the end he actually took the seal for its two hearts, why wouldnt he do it at the exact point of the exchange already? Nerissa is just lying there in front of him, fighting Mr. Huggles

so

was it all a plan actually? were they fighting nerissa just to fool her? because that is a strategy that they use a lot - also to outsmart Phobos later - and was the plan followed all along, and who knew about it?

it is striking that the dramatic exchange between will and phobos takes place in front of nerissa.. AND i cant help but notice that when cedric catches Will and she fights him off, she has this strange look of knowing exactly what is going on, it is not a look of yes power i just beat cedric yeah, it is different - and omg look at her!

and it is the exact moment, when we suddenly see napoleon running away and Nerissa follows him - and i think that might be the moment, when phobos transforms - and another meta argument, Will's gaze has no other function there, it is just added into the sequence, just after will is shown to have freed herself from C's tail - there is no other emotion than actually being calm and in control and there is a cut from her fighting situation right to this, it is not flowing into it - thats strange, it seems like a shot of significance intentionally added by the creators - i would say she and C might have drawn Nerissa's attention, while Phobos changed, and Will can see this and is content, cause stuff goes well

but i still dont understand the previously mentioned two things 1) why then Will tells the girls phobos's intention as something true.. maybe Will's gaze might also be something like *im not surprised at all you piece of shit (ie Phobos)*, as she would actually think he'd betrayed them..? 2) why didnt P. take the seal? it's true that if it was Napoleon, drawing from his secret awesome acting skills, he literally would not be able to take the seal - other option is that it was strategy, cause here Nerissa would fight Phobos, while thinking he was the cat caught her entirely off guard

if it was true, that it was not just a display all along, it could be that they did not know about this plan and it was only Phobos using his previously moderately succesful strategy without telling anyone as usually - but then they seemed to be aware of it in the end, waiting for him to strike..

another idea that comes to mind is that, while it was a plan, he just planned to betray them and let Nerissa catch Napoleon and then he might have changed his mind after the exchange with Will (being just P. in his own looks).. it could be a rational choice, it's better to have two hearts than none, so he would just let the Heart of Earth go.. i'm sure some phowill fanfiction could draw mountains of gold from this tho lol - as for this, there also is the option that only Will actually knew and only told the others, when everything was clear, but i kind of dont think that she would act like this, its like, ooc - i mean, especially in the comics, she has this tendency to take all responsibility on herself and then sometimes forgets to consult, but collaboration with the villain and not trusting the girls with it might be a more sensitive topic

so to me the options are:

the cat change was a plan, but P. aimed to betray them, it was him talking to Will sincerely, and then at this moment he would decide to betray them just a little later for one reason or another

the cat change was still a plan, the dialogue was a display, the girls just knew and someone actually was close enough to hear them.. there would have to be a reason for him not taking the seal there - a strategy to mislead Nerissa into not fighting P. off or some magical rule or what not - or actually this being Napoleon talking to Will, it's still possible, i guess

it is possible that it is just an inconsistency that sometimes occurs in WITCH generally

i'm missing something

bonus option: the strangely confident will hanging from cedric's tail is actually phobos and phobos is will, cause they both can do electricity looking magic and they had a lot of fun impersonating each other's drama showwo/manship

bonus option 02: only Matt knew - the fun is that this is not entirely impossible, lol, it is true that in the final "we're far ahead of you gurl" the grimaces of the guardians might actually be a little surprised (the details are not so clear) and Matt/Shagon has a mask, but it is him holding Napoleon AND they cooperated without telling the girls in the previous episode together with Caleb and Blunk - but like, going meta again, i do not think it is true, bc it would be so unexpected that a medium of this kind would definitely explain later

p.p.s. the phobos development here is either way quite interesting, cause in V is for Victory he is really always using others as living shields, changing appearance for his safety etc and now he just decides to take the likeness of the most endangered bait of the day? Is he so desperate for the seal? Desperate about the girls' failures in his eyes? Or did he actually decide to be only a tyrant and not so much a cowardly moron? Another point to think about..

“The Sculpture.. [Part 1/?]”

Hello Dear Readers.

I am shocked at the followers I’ve managed to gain in the first few days of my blog being up. I also wish to thank you all for the “reblogs” and likes.

Anyways, I know why your here so I’ll get on with it. This is the story of Percy and I’s first case… the case of ‘The Sculpture’.

The day started off as another, I woke up and did my daily routine of going for a run, taking a shower, eating my breakfast well I watched the birds and such.. then when I was getting ready for my morning lecture I noticed, Percy, looking madly through the papers.

Though that wasn’t too weird. He’d been doing that for days without even saying a word to me- which I didn’t mind Because he’s quite the weird fellow.. anytime I can get not to hear him ill take it. But of course It was very short lived, as Percy Jumped up on the Couch and cheered with delight. I asked what the matter was- well after I asked him to sit back down as I didn’t want him standing on my couch. Once he calmed down he told me that he found ‘a case’ whatever that means. Either way I congratulated him and left for my lecture.

A few Hours had passed after that and I made my way into the apartment I saw it. Percy on the floor in the middle of a whirlwind of papers. The apartment was in shambles.

“PERCY WHAT THE HELL-“

“Shhh.. Im working Eddie.”

“Working??? On what!? This is a bloody mess and- oh- no no no! Why is there a knife in the wall, Percy!!!”

There was a knife holding a paper in the wall

“Hm? Oh that. Thats just some evidence for the case.”

“Case-?”

“Yes. Remember the one I told you about this morning.”

Thats when I remembered the excitement in the morning… I hadn’t paid much attention to this so called ‘case’ he had told me about because I was more focused on getting him off the couch but I suppose it was something important.

“Percy… prey tell.. what do you mean by ‘case.’”

After that Percy had told me that apparently he wanted to become a Consulting Detective like his uncle Sherlock.. not because he wanted to.. because he was.. bored. And apparently he was sick of his uncle being the only one in the world. Though I could tell he was quite excited about this. But if im being honest I don’t quite care what the man does, as long as he pays his half of the rent and leaves me alone I really could care less, but the mess HAD to go.

“Ok.. Percy tell me.. whats with all those papers in my lounge room??”

“Oh yes- its all the information and possibly Intel I have on my case so far.”

“… and what do you have so far?”

“Not much… theres a killer and after he kills a victim he leaves a perfect Sculpture of them left behind. Later the body’s are found miles away from the sights the sculpture’s are found and-“

“-im sorry- the killer is making Sculptures of his victims???”

“Yes Eddie do try to keep up.”

“Its actually Edward-“

“-so thats all I have on the killer so far. Though I do think I know where he’s going to target next. Thats why we need to go to this place.”

Percy held out a pan-flip in front of my face. It was for one of the most fancy restaurants in the area.

“Percy.. we literally live in a one bedroom apartment what makes you think you can afford to go here.”

“My dads practically the British government. I can do as I please. Now get dressed. We’ve a Restaurant to go to.”

“Ok- wait me to???”

Percy Gave no further explanation. He also didn’t tell me why he needed me there, though I thought it was best not to question him.. if it means I get to eat at a fancy restaurant that is.

When we got there I ate and Percy kept a look out for the killer, But after an hour of nothing Percy started getting frustrated.

“Where. Is. He.”

“Look maybe he’s just running a little late… or..”

“Or?”

“Or you were wron-“

“Im never wrong.”

“…sure. Well Im going to the washroom. Have fun not being wrong.”

When I got to the restroom however I was met with a disturbing surprise that had me running back to our table. Where I as calmly as possible Told Percy to follow me..

“PERCY GET UP THERES A HUGE SCULPTURE IN THE WASHROOM!”

After Percy saw it he smiled. Who on earth smiles at a crime scene??? Bloody Percy Holmes, that’s who.

Of course I suggested we call the cops but oh no no no, Percy had other plans. He took a sample of the clay sculpture and a few photos on my mobile while he started to- wait. My mobile?? How..

“Ah right I took your phone when you were eating.”

“…why.”

“So I could take a photo of the Sculpture when you found it without having to explain to someone why I have evidence on my phone.”

“Wait you knew I’d find the sculpture in here- …WAIT WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE TO EXPLAIN WHY I HAVE EVIDENCE ON MY PHONE???”

Percy just shrugged back at me as he got up and started heading to the door.

“I already paid the bill and called the police. They should be here in about 2 minutes so I suggest if you don’t wish to have to explain the photos you get out of here with me.”

Percy may be weird but I know better then to ignore someone when im warned, so I followed close behind as the sound of police sirens began filled the air…

ok i think it was in this blog that i saw either you or someone else say that mha feels edgy for the purpose of being edgy , and as someone who aspires to create their own stories i wanna avoid this , could you go a bit more in depth about why you feel it is that way and how it could have been improved ? (and if it wasnt in this blog im sorry i mixed it up)

It was actually this blog, so no worries 😊. Well, it was either this blog or my other one 😂.

This is something I wanna cover in more depth but for now, I’ll give the basic points. Several trigger warnings apply, so don’t read this if you feel reading traumatic experiences can trigger your own trauma. Also, spoilers for Doki Doki Literature Club, Invincible, Moon Knight (comics), and The Flash (vol. 2) #197.

So some of my favorite stories are extremely dark. My favorite villain, Hunter Zoloman, is a man who after a hero “failed” to help him in a moment of tragedy, gained powers and felt that tragedy shows a hero’s true colors. Wally West’s Flash was his target, and he felt that if Wally understood tragedy, he’d rise up stronger. This man brutalizes Wally, his friends, and causes his wife to have a miscarriage.

Comic Book Moon Knight is about a man who not only struggles with DID, but also struggles with a God that wants him to be his enforcer of vengeance. Moon Knight is a man who constantly destroys his relationship with others because of his demons and can never know peace.

H.P Lovecraft’s works are about how there are these unknown horrors that exist and how our existence in such a vast world is utterly meaningless.

Doki Doki Literature Club tackles mental illness while also serving as a psychological horror story. Combine the two, and you can see why it’s so dark.

Now, what do all these stories have in common besides being well written? Well, they follow one of several rules of writing a dark story.

The first rule is that there should be a balance of dark and light moments. In stories, you can have dark moments, but it should be balanced by lighter moments. Whether it’s a relationship developing or moments where hope can be found, it’s important that these moments do happen and it’s perhaps the easiest method of making your story dark, but not needlessly edgy.

But what about stories that don’t have this balance? What makes them work then? The second rule is that there should be a purpose for said darkness. Moon Knight’s relationship with his DID and Khonshu (his god) is the core principle of his character. It’s what makes him Moon Knight and not some other stereotypical vigilante. H.P Lovecraft’s stories tackles the themes of being meaningless in a vast universe that will forget you eventually (while also serving to tackle his own problems). Zoom is meant to tackle the question of what makes a hero. Most, if not all heroes, experience tragedy, so is that what makes a hero? Someone who has experienced tragedy and rises up to prevent similar events from happening to others? Doki Doki Literature Club analyzes different forms of abuse/depression and the question of “what is life”? What makes someone human rather than a machine? The dark events that happen to these characters and that these characters cause ultimately serve a purpose to the story. They also have to be appropriate for what the story is. Moon Knight wears white so people see their blood as he beats them and marks his enemies. That’s meant to show that Moon Knight isn’t the most sound of people and that he aims to inflict fear upon his enemies. Monika makes a joke about Sayori’s suicide before you discover her body, which is another instance of foreshadowing. Omni-Man beating his son and murdering all those people are meant to show us that Omni-Man is a horrible person compared to Invincible, who despite his flaws, is a good person as shown whenever he feels immense regret after failing to save someone or fucking up. It’s when things get into Revenge Porn, Edge Porn, and Torture Porn territory that your story is no longer dark. It’s just edgy.

The third rule is that there needs to be stakes involved in said darkness. The stakes with Zoom’s character is Wally stopping a man not only more powerful than him, but is willing to ruin the lives of both himself and everyone else that is a hero. Moon Knight’s mentality is constantly challenged. Whenever he tries to be a better person, his demons threaten to drag him back down at any moment. Both H.P Lovecraft and Doki Doki Literature Club involve a mystery as a means of raising stakes. You want to know what is causing the abnormal events taking place in the story and are anticipating what happens next. Characters you love could be killed and/or corrupted at any moment. The stakes have to be reasonable though. A Moon Knight story involving the end of the world isn’t going to work because the character of Moon Knight isn’t meant to be involved in that realm of storytelling. He works better as a mystical hero that is roughly street level. Monika in DDLC threatening to take over the world wouldn’t work because that’s not her character. She wants to experience reality and does what she does because she believes her friends and her world aren’t real. Her wanting world domination and being willing to kill people in the real world would go against her character.

The final rule ties into rule 3, and it’s that the stakes need to be foreshadowed in some way and not just pop out of nowhere. In DDLC, Act 1 has some foreshadowing but the audience will not think much about it until Act 2. The dialogue said by the characters all serve an important purpose in that regard. Monika’s poems in Act 1 also hint at this, but a first time viewer wouldn’t realize its significance until Act 2. In Act 2, you notice how most of the glitches involve Monika popping up in some way, which when it’s revealed that she’s sentient, it makes sense and doesn’t come out of nowhere. Moon Knight’s entire identity is built up on his DID and Khonshu, so when something happens as a result of either, it doesn’t come as a surprise.

This leads us to MHA. MHA does have some dark moments that follows these rules. The Todoroki family subplot follows rules 2 and 3. Shoto’s relationship with Endeavor falls under rule 2. It is an obstacle that has weighed him down and has prevented him from being the best hero he can be. Now he’s aiming to overcome said obstacle. Dabi follows rule 3, where you’re questioning how Shoto and Endeavor are going to overcome Dabi and the consequences of Endeavor’s past. The School Festival Arc was a low stakes one that allowed Izuku to breathe after going through an arc involving child abuse and death, following rule 1. It also follows rules 2 and 3, where the purpose of the arc is to set up the idea of redemption.

MHA also has “dark” moments that are either unnecessarily dark or simply don’t work. During the Sport’s Festival, Recovery Girl tells Izuku that continuing to use his quirk the way he has been will make him unable to use his arms again (see rule 3). This was a perfectly reasonable stake, but then Recovery Girl tells him that she refuses to heal him. That’s just adding salt to the wound and makes Recovery Girl look like a dick. She’s supposedly knowledgeable on quirks and served as All Might’s doctor, so maybe she could’ve given him some advice. The War Arc and Izuku’s Solo Arc had no resting period between them (rule 1), which would be fine if there was a good resolution, but there wasn’t. It’s nice that 1-A wanted their friend back, but they were literally preparing to drag him back using some weird ass torture device. We never get any more insight regarding Izuku believing he has to do everything himself (missing the mark on rule 2). We get Katsuki’s speech, but good god does he miss the mark. It misses everything he’s been through, everything that Katsuki HIMSELF caused. Sure, All Might didn’t make things easier by telling Izuku that he wasn’t allowed to tell anyone else about his quirk, but Katsuki’s the reason why his self esteem is absolutely shattered. Throughout the story, Izuku’s either constantly criticized or abused for the sake of it. Most of Katsuki’s behavior towards him isn’t necessary. The suicide baiting comment was to showcase the hatred Katsuki has for Izuku and hammer in how much Izuku suffers from the other boy. However, Katsuki nearly nuking him, sabotaging his exam score, and just being a dick to him really doesn’t do much else. We get it, Katsuki’s a fuck who hates Izuku, but it’s not like any of that’s ever brought up again after the USJ. Was the scene where he stabs Izuku necessary at all? The whole Quirk Assessment Exam was also BS and it paints Shota in a bad light (breaking rule 2). So we’re supposed to expect a kid who only had his quirk for like a month to not get last and expelled? That’s just dumb, especially since a little bit of basic reading would show Shota this. Speaking of Shota, his backstory is only explained through a SPIN OFF before making its way to the main plot (and it was hurriedly thrown in there rather than time being dedicated to establishing said backstory), which is not how you should do a reveal at all (breaking rule 4). If you didn’t read the spin off, then you’re not really going to care about Shota’s relationship with Oboro/Kurogiri. Shota’s trauma is also never explored either and it’s just treated as this offhand explanation for Shota’s behavior rather than a core element of Shota’s character. (breaking rules 2 and 3). Moving on to another character, let’s talk about AFO. He constantly breaks the final rule numerous times. The story seemed to be setting the stage for Tomura, but then AFO randomly decided that his grand plan was to possess him instead (rule 4 broken). Where the hell did that come from? Like seriously, having AFO pass the baton to Tomura would’ve been a far better decision than whatever the hell this is. Yuuga’s reveal was awful (breaking rule 4). He only had one big moment where his true nature was hinted at and then he’s shoved in the background twiddling his thumbs until Hori remembered he needed to wrap that plot up. Simply put, these instances feels like Hori trying too hard to add angst/drama/stakes to his story, but none of it feels organic or well thought out. They don’t offer much to the story and if you removed them, he’d have time to actually focus on his well thought out dark moments.

i think youre right about the bi/gay debate (sorry to bring it to you... im not bringing it in a Im New Here way, but rather an I've been here a while and youre someone i feel safe asking about this, sort of like sitting down at a kindly hot gay wizard's knee and asking for wisdom way hehe.)

HOLY HECK i did not even see the slideshow length, 300?! i know we celebrate the boys here, but when youre compiling like that it starts to feel like compensating for something. and you're right - so far (im about halfway through) ive been asking myself things like 'but why does that make mike bi?' on every other slide. theyre detailing the plot of s4 from mike's pov; things that all bylers agree on, gay and bi truther alike. none of it so far is evidence for bi mike. at one point they say 'theyre not compatible in a romantic relationship, but mike likes kissing her as we can see here...' and this is what has me respectfully yelling HOW CAN WE SEE THIS PLEASE because so much of these discourses is about opinion and subjective interpretation. im about to sound like a nerd: it really makes me miss school. and uni. and debate club. and seminars. with actual discussion and evidence. hell, i even miss english class and writing essays. make a point. provide evidence. follow up with explanation. the teachers actually called it P.E.E.

I totally don't mind the topic if it's open and friendly and analytical rather than fighty. All good here. Under a cut since this is long and if people want to skip this topic:

"sitting down at a kindly hot gay wizard's knee and asking for wisdom" - Firstly, love that, obsessed with you. And YEAH the number of slides made me irl do that slow blink meme gif, we know the one. I wasn't very compelled. Am I too staunch and biased? It's not that "oh this character must be gay because I'm gay and like Byler" - no? A lot of people like Byler and aren't gay at all. I've been in fandom culture a long time and don't need to project. I just see what I see. I've shipped many things where I knew the characters weren't queer but I liked the idea. This is the first time in a long time that I feel the shipping and analysis collide and can actually be one in the same, a fandom rarity in my opinion and taste in media.

Anyway. A lot of the points for bi Mike overall from many sources of discussion never strike me as evidence he's bi. They could so often go both ways (HA SORRY) to bi vs gay points. And then the gay points tip the scales. So much of the argument is subjective, for sure. But there is coding and hints and arcs that lend solid evidence. His LACK of attraction to women just feels so clear to me when we have soooo much of that with the other male characters? He just acts differently, abrasive to certain concepts. And his relationship with El is a mess. I will feel so odd if we've all analyzed that wrong. All the points about Mike's weird expressions, his awkward physicality with her as opposed to Will, never really seeming all too enthused. It's almost looks like panic sometimes. A lot of what he says that's read as romantic feels like a performance for other people around - MIKE is the one overcompensating here, truly. His defeated facial expression before he says he loved El in the monologue is such a giveaway to me. He's about to lie for his life and hers.

This is what I mean by life and death. Guilt over his new friend dying for them season 1. Anger at Hopper hiding her while he missed her and felt guilt over what happened. Season three conformity and puberty confusion arc, getting mixed up from growing up and trying to be normal. The excitement that yes, I can be normal, this girl likes me. Changing his personality to fit, and overcompensating for not knowing the difference between platonic and romantic feelings for this girl - he struggled with the platonic because he feels he can't have that so his relationship is messy and too physical, not emotional. His mind and body and heart are all at odds. He and El aren't really friends because they haven't had the time or allowed their relationship to be anything but this need to have it be romantic - El's issue, too, with not really engaging with society in a meaningful way. Rambling now. But it's not hard to see if we're paying attention. Haven't even touched on anything to do with his behavior in regards to men or Will - this is already too long.

I think a lot of people will continue to ship what they want regardless of the outcome and honestly - that's fine? What if the worst happens and Mike ends up with El? I will still be a hardcore Byler fanboy until Stranger Things is not a fandom I'm interested in engaging with. I don't really care. I'll forge my own reality through fanfic. I believe those who still want to engage with Mlvn will do so. I can understand why people choose to see Mike as bi. His sexuality isn't canon yet (as opposed to Robin and Will). It's what they're into and HC since we do not know 100%. I'm not so blinded and delusional to not admit that.

I find it fascinating, too! Which is why I try to learn more and more and always try to consider different viewpoints. It's a broken record, but these orientations are totally valid and props to anyone finding what works, figuring themselves out. I don't think everyone is ever going to completely understand every aspect of human sexuality. I don't. I'm always learning. I'm gay and both a hopeless romantic and a guy with a high sex drive so maybe certain realities and lifestyles I don't fully understand the intricacies of - but that's ok. We don't have to walk an authentic mile in each other's shoes, but we do need to respect each other and leave room on the path!! 😁

hi, do you think when sarada awoken the mangeko (as much as i wish that trashy awakening wasn't real it unfortunately is) because of she cared for brto and was a die hard fan or was she just really upset that no one belived her and thought she was spouting nonsense? for me i low-key feel that it is the latter since sarada seems to have more concern for herself and the fact that she thinking that everyone denying her reality affected her so much to the point of awakening ms? it's still bad tho

Unfortunately if we're being realistic, nobody fkin knows what triggered it, there are two primary theories in the fandom and both are factually false

1 She was overwhelmed, everybody suddenly hunting/attacking Boruto, hearing Naruto was killed, her father not believing her, and finally her desperate plea for him to save Boruto is was caused her MS

2 her immense love for Boruto and fear of him being killed is what triggered it

Both of these are factually wrong, others may wanna live by Ikemoto's bs rules but Im not, Kishimoto didnt spend 15 yrs establishing this power up for us to just be like 'well none of that matters now cuz Ikemoto did different' stfu, the original creator >>> an incompetent assistant that constantly says fk what Kishimoto established in his own verse to make whatever bs plot/scenario he needs to work. In this case, he needed 'change Boruto's fate' and justify Sasuke leaving with Boruto for 3 years so he pulled that omnipotence bs and then made Sarada awaken her MS solely to convince Sasuke to believe her, there was literally no other purpose than that.

So for a memory refresher, why is her MS awakening factually wrong? because neither of the explanations people give are how the MS WORKS.

This is literally in part one where we're first introduced and explained to how the MS is obtained.

Itachi says you have to kill your closest friend to obtain the MS which isnt a lie, but its not the entire truth either, but the general idea is the same as I will show here where we get more detail.

Tobirama, like Itachi, are correct in their statements, but once again it is not the entire truth either because as we've seen several times the BASE Sharingan can evolve without feelings of hatred, but a strong desire to protect those dear to you, grief, and losing a dear loved one are all triggers for the Sharingans evolution, this is further proven by the fact that Kagami and Shisui never fell into the 'curse of hatred' and still had fully evolved Sharingan, Shisui even had MS despite wanting to follow a completely pacifistic path.

Now lets go over the actual difficulty in how it is obtained, lets look at the databook first, I took the liberty of highlighting the relevant parts for those who like to stay in denial whenever this topic comes up.

Through the entire history of the Uchiha clan, it was rare for a member to be able to weild the Mangekyou Sharingan.

Here's the part I want you to keep in mind going forward because I WILL be coming back to it later.

Remember that for later, now moving on to the next point, ok so thats databook statements but what about in verse? the same thing.

It was rare to obtain the MS, the clan would literally slaughter eachother trying to gain it to no avail because its NOT a simple and easy thing to obtain, otherwise everyone in the Uchiha clan would've had MS if it was just as simple as killing your own kin or being overwhelmed etc [refer to the bs reasons ppl give for why Sarada gained hers] but it actually took SPECIFIC requirements to gain, and we were shown what those were several times.

I think you notice the common theme here, Obito got his MS from seeing his best friend kill Rin, his first love, Kakashi got his at the same time from the act of killing Rin by accident, Itachi got his from watching Shisui commit suicide, Sasuke got his after killing his brother and then learning the truth about Itachi and his clan.

The theme is clear, the requirements to awaken it are even more clear, there is literally no amount of gaslighting anyone can do to overrule whats literally been consistently shown in the canon danm manga by the original creator himself.

'Oh yall just wanted Sarada to be edgy like everyone else Im glad her MS was different' is the stupidest response to this, nobody said they wanted her to be edgy, they just want her danm MS to follow the rules that have been established for 15 years. Also Shisui wasnt edgy and he had MS, so I dont even know how anyone thinks thats a gotcha anyway, she could literally still be the loving Sarada she's always been and still get MS because hatred isnt the only way the Sharingan evolves. I dunno why someone actually thought that was a rebuttal, but it just goes to show how ignorant these ppl are about how the MS works and only care about things being 'different' instead of caring about the actual worldbuilding.

Now lets move onto Sarada, her base Sharingan, although lackluster, still evolved in a way that was consistent with what was set up in OG. She awakened her sharingan for the first time due to her years of pain and longing of missing her dad and then being overjoyed when she was finally about to meet him at last. This wasnt unusual because Sasuke awakened his third tomoe because of how overwhelmed he was that Naruto considered him a brother, his first bond, and his dear friend, despite Sasuke literally trying to kill him right now and cut ties with him, Naruto's sincere love for him made his final tomoe appear. This is why the base Sharingan evolving in this way is not unusual, as long as the emotions are strong enough and struck a cord with them, then the Sharingan will evolve.

This is not the same for MS though, it is a completely different eye with a completely different set of rules, this is why Sarada's awakening is complete ass and not only that but literally breaks the rules of the verse.

Keep this in mind, she hears Naruto, her idol, the man who she aspires to be like, who at one point she wished was her dad, is dead, but not only that, she hears Mitsuki say hes going to kill Boruto. Remember this for what Im about to say next.

This is several minutes after she was told Naruto was dead and that Mitsuki was going to kill Boruto, her eyes didnt budge when she heard Naruto was dead, nor did her eyes budge hearing literally EVERYONE is actively hunting Boruto now.

At the very least the news of Naruto's death was more in line with how the MS awakens, so if she heard that and got her MS from it then it wouldnt have been all that difficult to accept, but unfortunately thats not what happened, she just sat there and cried, no reaction to Naruto dying, and no reaction to hearing and seeing Mitsuki trying to kill Boruto.

So what did trigger it? her being overwhelmed? false because thats what she was in the panels I've shown, she had been sitting there for several minutes with all this chaos goin on around her and no MS, not even her dad not believing her is what triggered it, literally NOTHING anyone tries to say it was triggered it, your literally looking at the panels, her eyes didnt BUDGE.

So what did trigger it then? if none of that did it then what did?

I shit you not, I cannot make this shit up, what triggered her MS was literally because 'Why cant Boruto ever catch a break?'

When I tell you my blood boiled reading that line words cannot describe the rage I felt because the total and I mean TOTAL disregard of everything, EVERYTHING that has happened to her dad, her idol Naruto, and Kawaki was infuriating because she NEVER asked why they cant catch a break, but now all of a sudden because poor Boruto is going through it right now all of a sudden its too cruel.

Her father lost his eye and got fatally beaten up by both Borushiki and Isshiki, Naruto was nearly killed by Isshiki and Borushiki, Kawaki was hunted down by Delta, Code, Isshiki, and Momo, Amado put karma back on him without his permission or anyones knowledge, Kawaki was slowly being consumed by Isshiki through his karma the same as Boruto was with Momoshiki and she didnt give af about NONE of that.

NONE OF THAT

She didnt give af about ANY of it, know who she did tho? Boruto, in chapter 69 who is she telling Mitsuki she feels bad for being unable to protect? Boruto, who is she angry at herself for not being reliable for? Boruto, who does she want to get stronger for so she can help them more? Boruto. This is literally right after Naruto nearly died, Kawaki nearly died, and Boruto nearly died, but the only one she gave a danm about was Boruto.

So you want the real answer to what triggered her MS? Ima be real with you, its honestly anybodys guess because Ikemoto is so bad at properly building up and portraying things clearly compared to Kishimoto, you can see clearly what the MS triggers were for everyone I showed and it isnt up for debate, its clear as day, but Sarada? you literally have to friggin guess because it just pops up so randomly your caught off guard wondering where tf that even came from.

Im not even kidding I've reread this scene so many times and I can NOT pinpoint what the trigger actually was, the only thing I can say is that the turning point was Sumire telling Sarada the cause of everything thats going on, Sarada then falls apart more because 'This is too cruel, why cant Boruto ever catch a break' which again is complete bullshit but I digress...so then she pleads for her dad to believe her and help Boruto because he's innocent but Sasuke doesnt, this is supposedly where the shift happens because her eyes are hidden during these panels.

She basically tells her dad that even if none of this makes sense to him, just to please trust her and grant her this one selfish request, aka saving Boruto.

Im not even kidding but...this is just so danm bad for her...like if I were to be completely generous and unbiased here then I can only make one conclusion from whats been laid out here and that is that her MS awakened simply because she desperately wanted her dad to save Boruto, she wanted her dad to do her this favor no matter what, she wanted him to do it so badly that her MS awakened.

That is the only explanation that can be taken from this, and that is why this is rightfully seen as the WORST MS awakening we've ever seen and why its a complete and utter disappointment because look at this shit, LOOK AT IT, she's just standing there crying and beggin daddy to help when she's had the chance to do something her danm self.

Remember earlier when she heard Mitsuki say he was gonna go kill Boruto? if she was that concerned why she aint go try to stop him? she heard everyone else out to hunt him too and yet she didnt try to go protect him from them either, I mean she could jump infront of Boruto to protect him from KK, she could jump infront of Boruto to protect him from Kawaki, she can abandon her mission to come save Boruto from Shojoji, but FOR SOME REASON she cant stand up and protect Boruto from all the people hunting him right now? her childhood friend this fandom swears up and down shes madly inlove with? she cant stand up and protect him when he needs her the most!?

I aint sayin I wanted her to be the one to leave with Boruto hell no, but leaving with him and protecting him are two entirely different things, she could've easily saved him from Inoshikacho, Chocho would've definitely tried hearin Sarada out, Sasuke could've arrived and Sarada tries to appeal to all of them there, most likely Inojin and Shikadai wouldnt believe her, Chocho is her best friend so she'd know atleast something has to be wrong for Sarada to be so insistent, and Sasuke would be the most inclined to believe her because hes already witnessed something similar with the infinite Tsukiyomi, so is it really all that impossible that Ada, who literally has Otsutsuki dna, to mass brainwash ppl? Sasuke could've told Inoshikacho to leave and let him deal with Boruto and then thats when they discuss Sarada staying behind and Sasuke leaving with Boruto for the time being.

There was no NEED for MS to achieve that, all it would've taken is a little time and effort and CARE to make that ending WORK without having to throw in a forced af power up to justify it because you were too lazy to actually write something that made sense.

But if she MUST have gotten her MS before part one was over, I can show the best opportunities they could've made it happen at.

Kawaki was about to kill Boruto, she tried asking him calmly what is going on but Kawaki just tells her not to interfere if she doesnt wanna die which shocks Sarada because this isnt like Kawaki at all, they were all friends and teammates and not long ago Kawaki was on edge trying his hardest to protect Boruto and now hes suddenly trying to kill him. Boruto told her to run but she refused and chose to protect him anyway despite Kawaki being serious about killing her if she interfered, however when actually faced with that reality she froze which resulted in Boruto saving HER instead and losing his eye.

This was a good place for MS to awaken because someone she thought was a friend is now trying to kill her other friend, her friend shes known since childhood and she cant understand why. She thought she could protect him but failed to be able to follow through and that caused her friend SHE was supposed to be protecting to end up protecting HER and losing his eye because of it. She's feeling immense guilt, betrayal, frustration, helplessness, and now she knows for sure that Kawaki really will kill both of them without hesitation.

However for this to work the scene will have to be changed a bit, Kawaki would knock Sarada out of the way cuz she isnt who he really wants to kill and then proceed to seemingly kill Boruto right infront of her before she can react in time to stop it, I say seemingly because Momo has consistently saved Boruto from otherwise fatal/irreversible injuries. Anyway after Kawaki seemingly deals the fatal blow, Sarada's MS will awaken, right then is when everyone arrives to restrain Kawaki, things play out relatively the same but only even more hostile since he apparently killed Boruto, eventually after their back and forth Boruto wakes up but its Momoshiki in control now same as the manga and he helps Kawaki escape the same way too, only difference is everyones not just shocked Momos helping but that Boruto somehow even survived, this is just another flex of Momos healing capabilities however.

Anyway thats one way she could've gotten MS that is consistent with the established rules of how the MS works.

The other moment that would've worked is the Boro fight, when everyone was getting taken out one by one and seemingly all about to be killed and Sarada was helpless on the ground after being crushed, that was more than enough reason for her MS to awaken as Boruto, Kawaki, and Mitsuki were all out cold and as good as dead.

Unfortunately neither of those happened, and thus were given the weakest, stupidest, most lackluster MS awakening in Uchiha history. Speaking of Uchiha history, remember that like I told you to remember? this is why.

So yea to answer your question, the most accurate conclusion to be had from this scene, although factually incorrect for the rules of the verse, In Ikemotos verse however, Sarada's MS awakened because of her desperation for her dad to save Boruto, she wanted that so bad her MS awakened as proof of just how desperate she was for her dad to grant her request, that is the truth of what triggered it.

I honestly believe that a lot of the characters would feel horrible for what happened to TTV!Yuu! They would likely walk on eggshells around the student, and they would be more wary about setting them off. With a lot of characters, I can see TTV!Yuu avoiding them completely (like all the dorm leaders). I can also see a lot of these characters feeling partly responsible for what happened to TTV!Yuu since, while it wasn't them, it was technically a version of them; and TTV!Yuu would have a hard time separating the two

Now, if TTV!Yuu follows the main story with the overblots... I don't think the dorm leaders would be able to regain their trust if they could get close enough to the student to begin with!

Riddle would understand and wouldn't take it to heart, but I think he would feel a little disappointed. I also think that it would bring up some doubts about him and being scary like his mother :(. He wouldn't push the issue, but I think it would be necessary for TTV!Yuu and him to have a little talk (for both of their sake). They would warm up a little bit more to Trey and Cater, I think (they would struggle to eat Trey's pastries the first couple of times for obvious reasons...). Despite this newfound trust, Ace and Deuce find themselves staying over Ramshackle every night for "study sessions" that end in Yuu pleading for them to not go back to Heartslabyul, followed by apologies to the both of them for breaking their promise.

They would stay as far from Leona and Azul as possible, seeing that the two of them tried to use TTV!Yuu for their schemes and it's likely that they won't very easily try to regain their trust. Leona may be alright with it and try to stay out of their way... but it's when Yuu tries to actively keep Ruggie away from the lion that he feels he should step in (and, though the hyena is grateful for their concern, he is a little annoyed that they're standing between him and his paycheck). They would try to beg Jack to stay in Ramshackle with them and stay far from his dorm, believing that he would die if he stayed in Savanaclaw any longer. He had to decline, but he hated that heartbroken look on their face and settled for sleeping over every other night.

Azul would try a little harder to gain their trust. Though, with his personality and persona, he may come off as being fake to them and end up pushing them away a little more :( I feel like the same could go for the Tweels (it could be even worse for those two as well, since even the normal cast is a little wary of those two).

Kalim would be able to warm up to them, though they would be a little wary around him (as they believe that, like Azul, it's a front that he would be putting up). Kalim would be the first dorm leader they get close to, I think, because of his emotional intelligence and how he would use it to calm them down! Jamil would be in a similar situation, though, I don't believe that they would be as scared of him as Kalim (as Jamil in TTV never really killed anyone, he was simply doing what Kalim told him).

They would be unable to stay around Vil and, despite his best efforts, they would beg for him to stay away from Epel (which scared the farmer because of how roughly they pulled him away from his dormmates.) Rook would petrify them to their core, and I think he would have to work twice as hard to gain their trust (especially after watching his arrow fly into a tree and being reminded of what happened to Jack). Epel also becomes an honorary member of Ramshackle.

Along with Kalim, I believe that Idia would be the next person they would get close to, shockingly! I can't imagine that someone who went through what they went through would continue to be very outgoing, and I think they would go to Ignihyde to give a teary apology to Idia for what happened to other Ortho. Of course, he would interpret this as his world's other Ortho, which would turn into a lot of tears and even more confusion for both parties. And, of course, this Ortho gets countless apologies from Yuu. Unlike the other first years, he gets to stay in his dorm without much of a fight since Yuu knows he would be safest in Ignihyde.

They wouldn't want to step foot inside of Diasomnia; the only reason for visiting the dorm being to grab Silver and attempt to house him in the safety of Ramshackle. Malleus, unfortunately, would get the shortest end of the stick :( Yuu wouldn't even dare to try to talk to him or Lilia after knowing what they're capable of (and being made aware that their magical capabilities in this world are the same). Sebek would also be a no-go, solely because his yelling would send Yuu into a frenzy. I think Lilia would be able to coax them into trusting the Diasomnia crew a little more (though they would still turn to Silver for protection).

As for professors, Yuu didn't have any contact with them outside of Crowley (with their only knowledge of the others being rumors and things they were told.) Because of that, the other professors get a free pass! I can see their classrooms being safe spaces for TTV!Yuu when they feel that it gets to be too much, or if they simply need someone to talk to. They're also constantly protected by the professors- whether that be always being followed by Sam's friends on the other side, being given a puppy from Crewel to keep them from harm, having Mozus guard them while they nap under Trein's desk, sitting with Vargas while he tries to teach them breathing techniques for when they get too scared, or having crows in the trees around them to keep an eye on them

As for Grim... they would feel immense pity for him and they'd coddle him. Though, they can't help but give him his own room in Ramshackle and sleep with their door locked from the inside to make sure what happened to the previous prefect doesn't happen to them too...

Butterflies In The Stomach

Just a what if couple I thought was interesting.

(This will reference all three of the Fairytopia movies. I left the ending open to anyone's interpretation.)

It  started when he got a scroll from a babbling puffball. A scroll from Azura to help out the wingless fairy and to go quickly. He obliged. After all an order from Azura was to be followed through. And thus started one of the the most extraordinary adventures of his life. Especially with a group of people who he never expected to be traveling with at all. Including one extraordinary fairy.

Elina.

The wingless fairy that no one expected to be the catalyst of Laverna's plans. The savior of all Fairytopia. The one whom stopped the evil and rescued them all. In the end returning peace and gaining what she wanted most im the world. To fly. However he still remembered their interactions. Their small interactions with one another. 

"Thank you, Hue. Thank you for showing me what it's like to fly!"

He was her first flying experience. Possibly the only time she's ever flown before. He didn't think of that at the time only doing his job as Azura had asked of him. But now, at this moment, it held special to him. He didn't know how or why it started. Perhaps it was after he'd gotten very sick. He'd ingested some of the sickness Laverna poisoned the air with and had gotten incredibly weak as a result. Elina noticed making him land for his own good. He insisted on going to protect her. It was his job! He was supposed to take her where she wanted to go and keep her safe. But I'm the end she was the one who went and he was forced to rest. But not before she kissed his cheek. Perhaps that's when all these feelings started. The fuzzy feeling in his chest and warmth in his cheeks. And when she declared that she'd be confronting Laverna he couldn't just let her go alone.

"I'm coming too! Because y'know.... It's my job."

It all worked out for everyone in the end Laverna was defeated and Elina was gifted wings by the Enchantress. That was almost a year ago behind him now and he has been put on an extensive order for a break from any work along with anyone else affected by the sickness in order to ensure a full recovery as ordered by the Guardians and the Enchantress. He was so happy when he was FINALLY given the ok to start working and especially flying for long periods of time again. And the first place on his stopping list was Azura. Surely she'd be able to help him figure out what complicated emotions were going on in his body. It's just a good thing he lived a few branches away from her in Fairytown. The blue flowers everywhere filled the air with a sweet perfumed scent as he flapped his wings and waved through the branches of the flowers until reaching a very familiar fairy house. He stopped just in front of the door inhaling the nerves away as he just walked up to the door and knocked. In all honesty he wasn't even sure if she was going to be home. After all she WAS a guardian and she had very important business to take care of. With one last sigh his hand reached out and loudly knocked. There he then waited. Perhaps she really wasn't- He jumped when the door opened and a very familiar blue haired fairy flew there smiling at him.

"Hue. What a pleasant surprise. I haven't seen you in ages," she happily greeted him before backing away and gesturing at him to come in, "Won't you come in?"

"Oh. Um. *ahem* Yes. Thank you!" He was so tall he had to duck just to enter the home and his wings tucked away further to drag behind him. Ah. Her home looked as beautifully decorated with plenty flowers. "I do hope I'm not intruding on anything." He turned as the door closed.

"Would you like anything to drink? I have some wonderful dandelion tea and it tastes wonderful with some buttercup milk and honey."

"Um..Sure. Thank you." It would be better to accept to be a polite guest.

She waved a hand and an entire giant tray carrying a tea set floated down from no where in blue sparkles. "Now what brings you here on this fine day?" She set a out making him a cup as soon as the floating tea set stopped in front of her. "Have you been recovering well?"

"Huh? Oh yes! I've been given a full recovery! Thank you for asking!" He cleared his throat again and tried not to be nervous. "I just... though it would be a good idea to report to you personally that I'm going back to work!" He nodded and blinked as a tiny cup was held out to him. "Oh..T-Thank you ." He slowly took it from her.

"It's good to hear that you're well again. It'll be good to have you around again."

He slowly nodded. "Um...There was another reason as to why I came here now that you brought it up!" She turned to him with a smile as he sputtered. "Um...Well it's complicated..I just...E-ELINA!! I heard you visited her lately. *ahem*" He strained a smile. "H-H-How is she doing?"

Azura rose a brow but still smiled. "She's perfectly fine. I was just congratulating her on a job well done for saving Fairytopia once again from Laverna's evilness."

"PFFT?!" He choked on his drink and nearly spat tea all over Azura whom just continued smiling. After coughing a little bit he stared back at her in disbelief. "I-I beg your pardon?!"

"Oh yes. I don't think you've heard about it yet since most of it happened in an entirely different kingdom. Why don't you just get yourself another cup of tea and I'll tell you all about it?"

And she did. The entire thing. From the poison in the coast they had to clean out, to the newfound thankfulness the Mermaidia royal family had to the Fairy people for Elina's great service, to how Elina helped to save all of Fairytopia once again with the help of a mermaid named Nori and the mermaid Prince Nalu to keep Laverna from getting the Immunity Berry in her clutches. To the Enchantress adding another condition to Laverna's banishment. If she left the Bogs of the Hinterlands, she'll become a real toad forever. That should detour her a bit more. Although his mood soured a bit remembering that Merman. Oh yes. He remembered Nalu. The merman he met briefly about a year ago at the coast while being chased by fire birds.  He rubbed him the wrong way but...he didn't understand why? He should have more regard considering that it was a prince he was thinking about but..He didn't like the way he interacted with Elina. Again he didn't know why. He was clearly within his right to treat her nicely and he never saw Nalu be rude to her in anyway so why would he not like that?

"Hmph. Yes. I'm sure Prince Nalu would send for Elina," he said a little annoyed sipping on that tea with a frown. Although he didn't know why. Azura just rose a brow at him. "She is the hero of Fairytopia after all and is more than capable of helping him."

She hummed. "You seem to dislike the idea of Elina helping Prince Nalu, Hue."

"Of course not. I'm not upset. Why would I be upset with Prince Nalu needing her help? The important thing is that everyone is safe and sound and Laverna is defeated still."

"I agree. And I look forward to attending Prince Nalu's wedding next year."

Hue froze. Blinking big purple eyes at her. "... Wedding? Prince Nalu? What wedding?"

"Why Prince Nalu's wedding to his fiance Nori. She was the one who helped Elina save his life." She rose a brow still smiling knowingly as he sighed in relief. "He was kind enough to invite all the Guardians and the Enchantress. Who did you think he was marrying?"

"I-...N-No one. I was just shocked is all. *ahem" W-Well then. It seems I have stayed long enough." He stood up clearing his throat and placing the cup down. "T-Thank you for the tea. I-It was good seeing you again. I should be going on my usual patrolls now. Take care, Ma'am."

And he left. He should really. Azura was rather busy getting ready to usher in the first blush of spring with the other guardians and their apprentices and Ms. Azura hadn't picked out a personal apprentice herself. Months passed by and the new blush of Spring came and went delivering the first rainbow of the new year when the new year came in those few months. He did try to forget about it but his mind always revolved around Elina. Her smile. Her laughter. Her kindness and soft nature. The kiss she gave his cheek- He tried to shake it off so much. But it always came back. He felt relief when he knew she was not the one Prince Nalu was marrying and that she was alright. And the blush's first rainbow only reminded him of the rainbow in her eyes and how special she was. He didn't understand why at first but even he couldn't be blind forever. The realization hit him while flying one day. Nearly made him run into a tree from shock.

He had feelings.

For Elina.

Nononono!! This couldn't be happening! ..But it was. Hue had gotten himself hopelessly, utterly lost in a crush. Sigh. Oh well. There really wasn't anything he could do about it other than wait till it passes. In the meantime he should really see Azura again. Word was that the Guardians were recovering from being infected by toad venom. While he heard she would be alright, he still wanted to go and make sure she was alright. He arrived at the home and knocked on the door. Someone yelled at him to come in and he obliged opening the door and ducking through the doorway. He found said Guardian relaxing in a lounge chair and reading. Azura looked...pale, with bags under her tired eyes. Just like someone who was sick. But still she smiled at him. 

"Hue. What a nice surprise," she greeted with a smile. "It's been awhile. How are you these days?"

"Me? What about you? I heard you were sick and came to check on your well-being. You look pale."

"Oh I'll be fine. The doctors already assured everyone that we'll be fine in a month or two. Already we're able to fly again without any problems but they insist on us resting as much as possible."

"Good choice. But what happened?! I only heard that Laverna returned AGAIN and you were poisoned by toad venom!"

"Come in and have a seat. I'll tell you all that happened. I could use some company that isn't a book anyways."

He obliged and she did tell him. Everything. From Azura  choosing Elina as her apprentice (no brains that would happen), to all their training, to Laverna tricking Elina into releasing her and deceiving everyone with disguises (THAT EVIL WOMAN), how ten years of winter almost came, and how Elina and the other apprentices once again saved Fairytopia. And once again he was shocked at just how amazing she was. 

"But... She's alright isn't she? E-Elina?" He looked worried.

Azura only smiled knowingly. "Of course she is. She's home right now."

He sighed relieved before nodding. "Of course. ..I would expect as much." He then nodded. "Well then. That clears up that. I'm only glad things once again worked out for us all. If there is anything I can do for you while you recover-"

"Actually. There is." She smiled and waved a hand. He blinked as paper and a pencil flew over to her in a swarm of blue sparkles. He watched as she grabbed them, wrote something on the paper, before rolling it up, and holding it out to him. "I want this message to be taken to Elina." He perked up. Elina?! "Would you deliver it for me?"

He blinked for a moment before lighting up and taking the scroll. "Of course! Magic Meadow is only a few hours away from Fairytown! I'll be there and back before the day's over!" And he'll be able to see Elina again! "I'll get right to it! You can count on me, Azura!" He immediately turned to leave.

Azura only smiled waving him good bye. "I know you will, Hue. Safe flying now."

He was taking off within seconds. Flying through the sky and quickly towards the Magic Meadow. Towards her. Towards Elina. The blue flowers of Fairytown flew by underneath him before they slowly became a darkened woods within two hours, then another hour passed and they turned into a lush green wide open field filled with giant flowers, and lush grass and many other people flying around him. Fairies and Pixies. There was quite a lot in the Magic Meadow. The Guardian Topaz really had her work cut out for her. He waved at a few of them as he flapped past descending to the ground and towards that one flower he knows Elina lives in. It felt like just yesterday he was here and flew with her as she first got her wings nearly two years ago now. Ah. There it was. He was quick to land and fold his wings down as he immediately stood up and looked around. Yes. This was the place, and this was the flower. Now all he had to do was find Elina. His heart was pumping in his chest at the thought.

"E-Elina?," he called out placing a hand on the giant flower. No answer. Perhaps she wasn't home? He knocked on the petal louder. "Elina?! Are you home?!"

"Hue?" He froze at the soft kind voice. That's her! "Is that you?"

"Elina!" He quickly turned with a smile..but blinked at what he saw. It was her alright. Hair as golden as sunshine. Eyes blue as sky. Smile bright. But she looked so.. different than he'd last seen her. Her wardrobe changed from than pale pink dress to a dark magenta one with the bust striped with all the colors of the rainbow. Her wing..Oh her wings were VERY different. They were once a pale pink when she first got them back then but now they looked to be made of stained glass. They were completely clear and see through as the edges but gradiated into rainbow colors near where they met her back...He blinked as she landed. "Elina? You look so... different. Ah! B-But a good different! You look amazing!"

She smiled as she landed and held out her arms in a hug. "Thank you! Hue!" He froze as she hugged him. "It's been so long!" She then pulled away to smile up at him. "What are you doing here?"

"Um.." He cleared his throat and hoped she didn't see the red on his face. "I came to visit you of course!"

"Prrrrata! Bibble adacca peemba!" 

He blinked now noticing the pouting puffball companion. Oh right. He nearly forgot about him for a moment. "Oh. And you of course." The puffball smiled in satisfaction as Hue looked up at the giant flower. "*ahem* And that must be Peony. Azura told me all about her. She's a rather beautiful flower."

Elina tilted her head to the plant, and seemed to listen to something he couldn't hear. "She says thank you. How is Azura? I haven't had time to visit her yet."

"She's doing well. Should be recovered fully soon enough. Oh! That reminds me!" He held out the scroll to her. "The reason why I'm here. She wanted me to deliver this message to you."

"A message?" She slowly took the scroll from him.

"Yes..So how was the apprenticeship? Azura told me you did well."

"Oh fine. I met so many new people. London's even helping me learn to speak actual toad, in case Laverna returns again. He's an oread after all."

He paused at the mention of the man. "Oh...So you..met someone."

"I met lots of someones. Lyndon's a good friend. We've been writing letters since he's been busy with Lumina." She opened the message as he again sighed in relief. Oh. They're just friends. Elina read the message. ..Then blinked. Then exchanged looks with her puffball before both looked up at him confused."Um. Hue. Is there something else you need to tell me?"

Now he looked confused. "No. Why?"

Her answer was to hand him back the open scroll and he took it confused but froze once he read what Azura wrote.

'Ask Hue about his feelings towards you. I believe you two should have a talk.'

"Hue. Is there anything you need to say?"

He opened his mouth and looked panicked between the scroll and her many times... before guilty lowering his arms and antennas. And sighed. "Yes. There is something else."

"What is it? You can tell me."

"I think... I've fallen for you."

There was silence between the two of them for a long moment before he blinked as a hand took his and purple eyes widened in surprise at her. 

"Hue. I think we do need to have a talk "

"Oh I'll be fine. The doctors already assured everyone that we'll be fine in a month or two. Already we're able to fly again without any problems but they insist on us resting as much as possible."

"Good choice. But what happened?! I only heard that Laverna returned AGAIN and you were poisoned by toad venom!"

"Come in and have a seat. I'll tell you all that happened. I could use some company that isn't a book anyways."

He obliged and she did tell him. Everything. From Azura  choosing Elina as her apprentice (no brains that would happen), to all their training, to Laverna tricking Elina into releasing her and deceiving everyone with disguises (THAT EVIL WOMAN), how ten years of winter almost came, and how Elina and the other apprentices once again saved Fairytopia. And once again he was shocked at just how amazing she was. 

"But... She's alright isn't she? E-Elina?" He looked worried.

Azura only smiled knowingly. "Of course she is. She's home right now."

He sighed relieved before nodding. "Of course. ..I would expect as much." He then nodded. "Well then. That clears up that. I'm only glad things once again worked out for us all. If there is anything I can do for you while you recover-"

"Actually. There is." She smiled and waved a hand. He blinked as paper and a pencil flew over to her in a swarm of blue sparkles. He watched as she grabbed them, wrote something on the paper, before rolling it up, and holding it out to him. "I want this message to be taken to Elina." He perked up. Elina?! "Would you deliver it for me?"

He blinked for a moment before lighting up and taking the scroll. "Of course! Magic Meadow is only a few hours away from Fairytown! I'll be there and back before the day's over!" And he'll be able to see Elina again! "I'll get right to it! You can count on me, Azura!" He immediately turned to leave.

Azura only smiled waving him good bye. "I know you will, Hue. Safe flying now."

He was taking off within seconds. Flying through the sky and quickly towards the Magic Meadow. Towards her. Towards Elina. The blue flowers of Fairytown flew by underneath him before they slowly became a darkened woods within two hours, then another hour passed and they turned into a lush green wide open field filled with giant flowers, and lush grass and many other people flying around him. Fairies and Pixies. There was quite a lot in the Magic Meadow. The Guardian Topaz really had her work cut out for her. He waved at a few of them as he flapped past descending to the ground and towards that one flower he knows Elina lives in. It felt like just yesterday he was here and flew with her as she first got her wings nearly two years ago now. Ah. There it was. He was quick to land and fold his wings down as he immediately stood up and looked around. Yes. This was the place, and this was the flower. Now all he had to do was find Elina. His heart was pumping in his chest at the thought.

"E-Elina?," he called out placing a hand on the giant flower. No answer. Perhaps she wasn't home? He knocked on the petal louder. "Elina?! Are you home?!"

"Hue?" He froze at the soft kind voice. That's her! "Is that you?"

"Elina!" He quickly turned with a smile..but blinked at what he saw. It was her alright. Hair as golden as sunshine. Eyes blue as sky. Smile bright. But she looked so.. different than he'd last seen her. Her wardrobe changed from than pale pink dress to a dark magenta one with the bust striped with all the colors of the rainbow. Her wing..Oh her wings were VERY different. They were once a pale pink when she first got them back then but now they looked to be made of stained glass. They were completely clear and see through as the edges but gradiated into rainbow colors near where they met her back...He blinked as she landed. "Elina? You look so... different. Ah! B-But a good different! You look amazing!"

She smiled as she landed and held out her arms in a hug. "Thank you! Hue!" He froze as she hugged him. "It's been so long!" She then pulled away to smile up at him. "What are you doing here?"

"Um.." He cleared his throat and hoped she didn't see the red on his face. "I came to visit you of course!"

"Prrrrata! Bibble adacca peemba!" 

He blinked now noticing the pouting puffball companion. Oh right. He nearly forgot about him for a moment. "Oh. And you of course." The puffball smiled in satisfaction as Hue looked up at the giant flower. "*ahem* And that must be Peony. Azura told me all about her. She's a rather beautiful flower."

Elina tilted her head to the plant, and seemed to listen to something he couldn't hear. "She says thank you. How is Azura? I haven't had time to visit her yet."

"She's doing well. Should be recovered fully soon enough. Oh! That reminds me!" He held out the scroll to her. "The reason why I'm here. She wanted me to deliver this message to you."

"A message?" She slowly took the scroll from him.

"Yes..So how was the apprenticeship? Azura told me you did well."

"Oh fine. I met so many new people. London's even helping me learn to speak actual toad, in case Laverna returns again. He's an oread after all."

He paused at the mention of the man. "Oh...So you..met someone."

"I met lots of someones. Lyndon's a good friend. We've been writing letters since he's been busy with Lumina." She opened the message as he again sighed in relief. Oh. They're just friends. Elina read the message. ..Then blinked. Then exchanged looks with her puffball before both looked up at him confused."Um. Hue. Is there something else you need to tell me?"

Now he looked confused. "No. Why?"

Her answer was to hand him back the open scroll and he took it confused but froze once he read what Azura wrote.

'Ask Hue about his feelings towards you. I believe you two should have a talk.'

"Hue. Is there anything you need to say?"

He opened his mouth and looked panicked between the scroll and her many times... before guilty lowering his arms and antennas. And sighed. "Yes. There is something else."

"What is it? You can tell me."

"I think... I've fallen for you."

There was silence between the two of them for a long moment before he blinked as a hand took his and purple eyes widened in surprise at her. 

"Hue. I think we do need to have a talk "

because. ninjago do be making my brain go !! and i need to yell abt it to myself to my blog void b4 i go onto dragons rising and stuff. i talked abt this on discord but only 2 ppl following me are in that server so wtv (hi btw X3)

i want to preface this by saying i dont interact with the ninjago fandom at all, and i know near nothing about behind-the-scenes things or stuff said by production. this is all my thoughts babeyy (which means im going to sound absolutely clueless and talk abt things that hav probably already been resolved. wtv) none of this is supposed to be critical thinking LOL pls dont attack me. i sound complainey but i dont hate the show, this is how i show love for media <3

really the most pressing thing to me was. being really frustrated about garmadon’s whole arc at the end of tournament of elements. yknow when misako finds out about the letter. i feel like they didn’t really go into depth about RESOLVING that whole thing, like showing the repercussions and thoughts of all parties involved after the fact? how does this affect their family? i suppose misako and lloyd talked about it during day of the departed, kind of? but. my needy ass just goes “IT WASN’T ENOUGH.” really, i don’t really like character death or sacrifice as the resolution to a conflict or arc unless it’s done really well, and. is this supposed to feel unsatisfying?! because it is to me!!

yes. i know it’s a kids show. its super likely something's going over my head right now, but. it really made me think again because misako and garmadon didn’t really even talk after harumi revived his oni side, and especially after all the interactions lloyd and garmadon had during crystallized. seriously, someone rec me fics that explore misako and garmadon talking post tournament of elements please JDKWNFJSND. and really i didn’t hate the resolution of tournament of elements... this is my single major nitpick about it LOL

continuing with that thought, like. lloyd has lost his dad multiple times... this isn’t fair to him!!! give bro a break!!! (silly) (i know its fiction LOL) honestly why doesn’t he have WORSE trust issues after considering his mom and harumi and all the other people who’ve abandoned slash betrayed him?! and yeah misako really is the least terrible offender here, and i’m not blaming her— but ya can’t ignore that it DID affect him. this is why i was really excited for the prospect of a corruption arc for him during crystallized, however brief. he deserves it! let him destroy a few buildings, maybe kill a guy! let him fulfill his rise of the serpentine dreams, but for real this time! again REC ME FICS RAGHH

...though yes. i know he’s developed really far to the point he’d never hurt people like that, and tbh you could say he was never really evil in the first place but. you gotta understand that the corruption arc is one of my FAVORITE tropes. i’ll do anything for em... it’s my fatal flaw...

heck like. this is why i was really excited for the ice emperor because i KNEW that was zane the moment i saw him LMAO. he’s my favorite character how can i not tell. but in the end he just lost his memories and was being manipulated by some other bad guy... same thing goes for possession, lloyd wasn’t the bad guy, it was morro possessing him... its not the same </3 let them be lead astray even WITH their past memories and relationships and feelings... i need the angst... (you can tell im insane because im saying this about a lego show)

anyways point is. i like corruption arcs. and i WILL write fic about the ice emperor gaining more agency no matter how out of character and detached from the original message it is. (even sillier connotation)

okay thats the end of me nitpicking for now, i think. i mean i have a lot of qualms... esp about wu characterization in the new animation studio half, but. thats one thing i know that has been talked abt AT LENGTH. and idk if this is an unpopular opinion but i liked all da seasons for different reasons, they all appeal to my different happy little facets of media i enjoy :) im still fresh off of watching the show again for the first time in forever so this opinion will probably change, who knows.

really im just happy to have gone thru the whole main series! including wu's teas! not including dragons rising tho. ill get around to that after this. and maybe look into more production and behind the scenes stuff, and the games and supplementary content too. i love consuming content 🥰

Read your tags and tbh it seemed like your teacher was being realistic. They didn't tell you "specifics" bc the real world doesn't hold your hand and baby you. Welcome to the real world, your teachers don't make enough to deal with your bullshit, instead of complaining maybe take the assignment seriously instead of half assing it.

Ok so first off just on a basis… why would you message me? Genuine question. If you didn’t agree with me despite it being MY situation and you only knowing about what I said and not at all having the full context, why go to my inbox to send me a message? Just seems pointless, why make a deal out of something you’re not involved in?

Also you claim to have read the tags, if that’s true then you would’ve seen me say that it was the ENTIRE class that got these bad marks and told the same things. Not just me. You say she didn’t give specifics but again you read it and you’d see that she did…

Now let me reiterate, you don’t have full context whatsoever of my courses, my teacher, me, my work ethic, my school. You don’t know what rules were set in place, the expectations, what the entire assignment entailed, the full set of instructions given by this teacher or the spreadsheets or the other students or well ANYTHING. You have NO context for 90% of my little vent.

Which that little vent I’m gonna be really honest, wasn’t really that important, I was frustrated and upset as one would be after putting days of effort into something and getting just barely a pass. So I vented, I do that a lot actually on this page. Not once has anyone actually messaged me to complain to ME about my understanding of my OWN situation…ever…so like ig props to you?

You talk as if you know me and my work ethic… as a complete STRANGER on the internet… I highly doubt that. If you did know me then you’d be talking to me in person. As that hasn’t happened and I haven’t magically gained a new contact…what’s the point of saying anything at all? I get it, you think if you tell me how the real world works I’d have an epiphany, “wow omg my teacher was right all along I’m in shock I was so stupid :0”

But seriously.

The teacher that told us on the beginning of classes that if we didn’t follow the instructions she gave us then we’d be having marks docked. She gave set instructions of prices to put down in certain spots, SPECIFICS to follow. We as a class ALL followed them. Then she goes directly against what she said. Is that not making sense yet or what?

I’m well aware of how the real world works, I know real life. Just like I know messaging a stranger not knowing them to tell them not to half ass something is…well just weird.

Im not expecting the world to hold my hand, I never claimed so.

What I am expecting is that set instructions given to be specifically followed, to be graded as such and as people followed them. Not for those instructions given to the students to be ignored in favour of her own opinions.

So I ask why waste your time to open the rest of the tags to go on to read something you obviously didn’t like, why take the time to send me a message to “lecture” me or some shit, and why would you think I’d take you to heart when you’re hiding behind an anonymous label? …oh no a stranger on the internet disagrees with my situation, this deeply hurts me I just have to change my opinion 😂

My response is to educate you on the situation as obviously, despite your claims, you didn’t read the tags or we wouldn’t really have to be having this exchange.

So the next time you want to message to tell someone about a situation that isn’t yours. Think. Because you don’t know me, you don’t know the full story, you only know what you’ve assumed. And hey reality check, assuming something doesn’t get you far in the real world.
