How Royale High somewhat fucked themselves over.

In case you were wondering, yeah, I've also seen those 'the downfall of Royale high' videos where it's 8 minutes of them stringing you along for that sweet ad revenue just to say 'well, but that's just talk'. But this is Tumblr. No one's getting paid.

Essentially, we also need to get our facts straight. Jazwares isn't SPECIFICALLY hired by Royale high, they're SPECIFICALLY hired by Roblox. Either way, expecting a $50 USD doll, that doesn't even include shipping is in a way, ALSO controlled by Jazwares, It's part of Roblox TOS you need to work with Jazwares for any official merch/toys. It's predatory pricing as well.

Yes it's cheaper for us to buy the toy then buy the GOT set. But the GOT set was for CHARITY. They forget, not everyone is available to be price gouged like that either for what's not charity.

It's actually really disheartening to watch my childhood game fall like this. I do respect the community coming together, with this.

I'd say what's mainly wrong with this set, and why it pisses me off more than GOT, is because we had CONSISTENT updates. We are vying for a new diamond set, and Starlight is the only one that was released this year. It feels very much so like having carpet stolen from under us.

some headcanons about sebastian solace from the hit game pressure roblox

to start - this may seem unimportant to you guys but its important to me: that ring on his finger is about as serious as the squirrel stapler room (that is, to say, the whole thing is a bit that the devs have included in their silly project and i will be treating it as such) (for selfish reasons, of course, but idc!! i'm having fun with this stupid game that i love and thats all that matters) (update on this: as i'm typing, i'm finding out that zerum is serious about her and sebastian being married which is honestly kinda...) (like sure fine that's cool and all if he were JUST your OC but sebastian has reached a point of publicity where he is more than that. obviously, i think it's rude and terrible and disrespectful to disregard a creators wishes as to how their character is used in fan-made content (this especially goes for NSFW art cause i think its fucked up if people make that sort of content of a character and POST IT after the creator explicitly said not to). at the same time, there are many people on the internet who do not care and will do what they want regardless. i think it'd be fair for her to ask not to have any of it sent to her specifically or posted in the Pressure server that she co-runs where she will obviously see it but she's saying she doesn't want anyone to make that sort of stuff period which is unreasonable and will only serve to hurt her in the long run. i don't know how old zerum is but this is reminiscent of my own (early) internet phases where i would become EXTREMELY attached to a character and refuse to acknowledge that that character existed differently (or at all) to someone else (i don't want to admit it was a sans AU but i really don't think i have a choice). i really hope she gets past this in a healthy way and comes to understand that a character who's been made public the way sebastian has been made public has a very different dynamic than an OC that you're sharing with your friends)

Upon opening her roblox profile, LanaDoesNails you will stumble upon  5 favorited games: Forest, Questionnaire, Sanningens Galleri and The Fortress (And DTI)

Forest

"Forest" is the first game where players can explore clues about Lana's disappearance. It leads to a sunflower maze, with Lana look-alikes influencing the journey.

Along the way, brief sentences hint at Lana's past, revealing a girl diagnosed with a terminal illness that caused financial ruin for her loved ones. At the maze's end, a portal leads to a grave with Lana's name engraved on it.To navigate the maze, players must follow paintings and sunflowers, while avoiding more Lana doppelgangers by hiding in bushes. At the end, a script of code appears that translates to  "You may have finished her trials, but the evil still lurks throughout. This is not the end. There will be chaos.."

Questionnaire

"Questionnaire" is a game where players can interact with Lana and her associates to uncover more details. It's most valuable when Lana is present, but players can still explore the area, discovering gravestones, tables, sunflowers, and more. Outside the main map, players can find various settings, including a playground. On 02/08/24, a group of players reported seeing a body near the stage after resetting next to it. Around the same time, a group calling themselves a "cult," led by Loki (username "ZephyrJPlayz"), formed to uncover the truth about Lana and her associates.

The Fortress 

Alongside the "Dress to Impress" game, the Roblox account also manages a group called Saudade, a Portuguese word that conveys a sense of longing or melancholy. As of April 20th, 2024, the group had opened applications for members interested in collaborating with Lana. The application included a set of questions aimed at potential candidates.

At one point, Lana's avatar wore an eye patch, and she posted in the *Saudade* group, “I do not need an eye patch.” In early May 2024, she changed her avatar to an all-black outfit, hinting at hidden meanings behind these changes, though none have been revealed yet. Currently, the *Lanadoesnails* account's About section reads:

"Trust me. I will be back soon, and my reign will never be over. You've just killed one of me. Just kidding, I'm really nice."

(The following part was in code):

"Something has taken over my account. Spreading lies and their agenda. I don't know if you still trust me, but if you do, please help me."

Her group Saudade is known for cryptic messages, like the shout that once read, “I am real.” In her final questionnaire, Nelly and Nathan confronted Lana, accusing her of taking body parts from group members. This led to anger outbursts from Lana, followed by a vote asking, “Do you trust Lana?” Most voted no, and in response, Lana became furious, threatening Nelly and Nathan, who vowed to stop her. Lana replied, “Try me,” before everything went dark, ending with her saying, “You have only killed one of me,” and everyone was kicked out, marking the end of the last questionnaire.

CHAPTER 2 

After Nelly and Nathan killed Lana, the “Questionnaire” game updated with a portal and the bodies of the executed—Sunny, Michael, Rafael, and Lana—beneath it. Later, it's revealed that Lana was revived with the help of a player named Agamemnon, who leads his own group called “Plague”. Recently, LanaDoesNails launched a new game called “The Fortress”, featuring a hallway of doors, each leading to rooms filled with notes and secrets.

Two new doors have been added to *The Fortress*. Lana revealed she's been dreaming of a man who accused her of exposing secrets, saying, "This isn't your first offense." Though she feels curious, not afraid, she admits she doesn't understand his intentions. Lana also shared that she underwent chemotherapy.

Someone close to her claims this year's Lana isn't truly her, warning that she's in danger and will be killed again.

Sanningens Galleri 

The Sanningens Galleri, or Truth Gallery, is filled with photos of Lana and Agamemnon. Mannequins, mostly torsos, are positioned as if they’re viewing the images, with some circling a mysterious object. One photo shows Lana with a monster behind her, suggesting she was kidnapped and replaced. Another photo features Lana with one missing eye. The gallery has specific rules: leave when the clock stops ticking (what happens if you don't is unknown) and avoid venturing too far inside. If you do, there's a jump scare featuring the monster from behind Lana. There's also a hidden farmhouse photo, likely her home.

One badge in the game is called "Drömde," which means "Dreamed" in Swedish. This may relate to the monster Lana has been seeing in her dreams, as suggested by the poster "Have you dreamed this man?" found in The Fortress. Here are both the translated and original descriptions of the badge:

Royale High Dolls

This is a little different from the usual content I post here, but I wanted to talk about the situation with the new toys coming into Royale High.

This is coming from someone who can afford all of the toys and therefore all of the items and has genuinely considered buying them. But now, as I'll explain below, I refuse to.

It's incredibly frustrating to have very few sets in the last couple of years. (Only NINE in the past 3 years, since June 2021) Out of these nine sets I've mentioned, only two of them (Peppermint Princess and TTYL) have been under 100k. The next cheapest of these sets is surprisingly, Opposites Attract (Released 2022) followed by Summer Fantasy (2021). At the time of release, both of these sets were considered to be unreasonably expensive. The cheapest set in the past 2 years is very surprisingly, Snow Swan (2023). It's coming in at a whopping 154k, followed by Whimsy Witch (2022) at 183k! The point I'm trying to make here is that before the Summer Fantasy set was released, the most expensive set was Princess Starfrost at only 125.5k. The average price for sets was 110k-120k. What on earth happened?

I find this inflation to be completely unnecessary and ridiculous, seeing as this game is tailored towards KIDS. Kids do not have hours upon hours to spend farming for diamonds because they have school and extracurriculars to worry about. And it is almost impossible to farm the required amount of diamonds for any of the more recent sets only on weekends, even with multipliers. You would have to spend an unhealthy amount of time playing every single day to be able to afford anything. And in my opinion, that isn't the way to make a sustainable game.

The new sets are simply an extension of this inflation. How can you release one of the largest updates ever, which introduces more new items in a single update than the entire year combined, and make it inaccessible to most people? As I stated before, this game is tailored toward KIDS. They do not have hundreds of dollars to spend on toys, and if their parents are reasonable, they definitely won't let them. I cannot understand why someone would do this other than blatant greed.

My biggest reason for not buying the set is simply because it makes me very upset to be paying money to a person who pretends not to be focused on the monetary. Royale High was recently described as a "Passion Project" by Beaplays. (Don't quote me on this, this is from memory.) A Passion Project is something that allows an individual to pursue and present something they enjoy to other people. If RH was a true passion project, why would Barbie need to attach steep prices and hold sets back for what I assume months or even years instead of just releasing them to the public? I understand that Barbie needs to make a living, but she doesn't need the excess money she's making off of these dolls. It's quite simply the fattest and most obvious cash grab I've ever seen in my life, and I refuse to play into it.

As well as this, unfortunately, the company that produced the dolls very loudly supports Israel. It is important to note that it was NOT ROYALE HIGH'S CHOICE to use this company, but rather Roblox's. Allegedly, Royale High was not aware of this until after they signed the contract. If you'd like to buy any of the dolls yourself, it's best to do so through a reseller. (Or steal from Walmart, it's not like they need the money. /hj)

The entire situation makes my blood boil. I haven't played RH in the past two weeks even before the update. I'll still try to make some posts occassionally, but to be quite honest all my motivation and love for this game has been put on the back burner. It's so disheartening to see a game you've loved and have been playing for the past 6 years succumb to terrible greed.

This is so weird to look back on. The Robotic Boogaloo had such a mixed reception, but I feel like it was a pretty important part of TF2's history, since nothing like this had ever been done before. And being able to be a part of it... like, damn, dude. Jerma985, who Scout is named after because he just is Scout, has read something I wrote long before he became the internet's favorite chew toy streamer. He didn't mention the comic in this video, sadly, as he uses most of the video to point out that this could have just been done in the Steam Workshop. Which, I mean, I guess, but this was an experiment.

This was something that had never been tried before. I can't think of many other video games that would openly celebrate the contributions of their fans the way Valve did with TF2. The only example I can think of that goes beyond that is Sonic Team publishing Sonic Mania. Roblox and SecondLife allow users to submit custom content and make money off of their creations, but Valve had a means of quality control by allowing the community to vote on items to be included in the game before this update even happened. Players were already used to the Steam Workshop system. That wasn't the case for the Robotic Boogaloo, when a bunch of items made by Facepunch users, all themed, were added to the game all at once, with no input from the rest of the player base. I can see now why that might be a bit irksome, to say the least.

I wonder if people look back on this update more fondly, as apparently people were less generous to more recent community updates. I'm pretty sure End of the Line and Jungle Inferno updates were received pretty well, but it's been so long and I stopped playing TF2 regularly in 2014, with my last session being in 2016, which is seven years ago, and the game has changed a lot since then (I didn't even know TF2 had weapon skins the same way CS: GO does until fucking today). So my knowledge of how most community updates past 2014 were received is... limited, to say the least. I think those updates were looked upon as warmly as they were because Valve allowed people to add more than just hats. The people working on Robotic Boogaloo were peeved that all of their contributions would just be hats. I worked it in as an excuse plot for Death of a Salesbot, even. Valve definitely listened to this feedback from players and I think that helped future community updates.

The Robotic Boogaloo was mostly organized by Cantsman, who recruited a bunch of people from Facepunch. There originally was supposed to be a map (and I think weapons? maybe?), however, the files for the map were found fairly recently and it was revealed that the map needed a lot of work done on it, and it would remain unfinished. Cantsman's intent was to bring together different parts of the community; not just the modelers, but he also recruited a bunch of fanartists, which was not even necessary. Cantsman was a regular poster on TF2chan as well as Facepunch, and as an artist, he wanted to invite members of that community as well. The fact that any of us on the fanart side, which included people who didn't do 3D modelling,

Somebody I used to be friends with was very upset that I was the only writer brought on board, but a logistical perspective, I really don't know how you could expect to get multiple people who were known primarily for fic involved in an update like this (we are no longer friends because she couldn't even pretend to be happy for me, like wtf). Cantsman wrote and conceived of the larger scenario of Gray Mann being the source of the robotic hats himself, and my main contribution was writing the comic with him to flesh out this idea. Those are my words written out, but it was Cantsman who mentioned the idea of Future Engineer as a throwaway idea. I pounced on it immediately. I did a little bit of supplemental writing for blurbs on the promotional site, but other than that, most of it was Cantsman. There really wasn't anything that additional writers would have been able to do, and there was very much an effort on mine and Cantsman's part to make sure that the writing did have a cohesive voice, with a tone fitting for TF2 canon. I can't help but read the things that I wrote and feel like they are very clearly written by me. My dad got to read the comic the year before he died, and he was incredibly proud, saying that even if he didn't go in knowing that I'd written it, he'd still be able to tell.

I am so fucking proud of Soldier wearing a tiara and eating a money sandwich. That shit is still funny to me. I don't care if people didn't like Kisses von Butternubs. Yeah, he's no Poopy Joe, but there's so much off-the-wall craziness in TF2 canon that it's hard to compete with a team of professionals. Cantsman and I were coming to it as people who drew and wrote comics for fun.

It's been 10 years. I didn't realize the anniversary was last month; one of the biggest changes of my entire adult life happened in May and goddamn, that month went by fast. I should probably message Cantsman, see how he's doing. I feel incredibly lucky that when he was looking for a writer from the fanfic community to help him when he was stuck after having only written a single page, he picked me to help him. Literally, he just messaged me on Steam and was like "hey, I'm working on this top secret project, it's a fanmade TF2 update and I could use some help writing. Are you interested?"

And I answered with a very enthusiastic "sure, why not?"

My good friend @nevvyland would tell me that I needed to apply myself and work harder to find an industry job, and that one wouldn't just fall into my lap. And lo and behold, this job fell into my lap. Nevvy had to stand corrected.

I wonder how everyone else that worked on it is doing. I wonder if they'd be okay with me reaching out to them. I posted a lot of cringe throughout the 2010's, but the reasons for that are a completely different story for another time. As I've said before, I feel like the 2020's and me being in the latter half of my 30's have put a lot of things into perspective.

I don't mind being known for writing Death of a Salesbot, as well as Respawn of the Dead and With Apologies to Harlan Ellison, but these were things that happened so long ago. I fear my newer projects will never again have that reach... but that's okay. I'll just keep chugging along with my art and writing, and make things because I enjoy making them.

You ever get bored when Oswin is at school/working. If so, what do you do to try to entertain yourself? 🤔

Why of course I get bored! I get bored quite often to be frank. It's why Oswin encouraged me to make this blog so I had something to do.

But my blog isn't the only thing I do in my spare time, goodness no. I have a long list in actuality:

Writing. It's primarily for the Parable, though I do want to write other things at some point.

Learning Guitar. I have a question in my inbox about learning the song "Megalovania" so I will see if I can somehow learn the song to be able to show you all!

Watching shows. I haven't had any new shows to watch as of late however. I did watch the BBC 1996 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice that I quite love. I poked fun at Mr. Darcy quite a lot despite Oswin's favoritism over him. It was all in good fun I promise!

Perusing on the Internet. Of course I have this blog, however I do watch a lot of YouTube when the opportunity strikes me. Instagram occasionally though it's through Oswin's account since I have no need to make my own.

Playing Video Games. I've taken up Minecraft here and there and like playing it on certain occasions. Visual Novels too if they have good characterization and story. And the Portal games too, if you would believe it. I quite like a good Puzzle. Also, Stanley and Lynne have introduced me to the game Roblox. Which contains many games within it, however they are all made in the same engine if my memory serves me right. They mainly get me to play those Tycoon games. I consider myself to be an expert on money and how to make millions of of my product! (ex, The Stanley Parable and The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe) My Tycoons are some of the best I must say.

^An addendum to this however: They've tried to introduce me to this game with an evil pig called "Piggy". Suffice to say I have been utterly terrified and will never play horror games on Roblox again.

Chores. Oswin is busy most of the time, So if it's particularly bad I do my best to help around in the house, especially when Lynne and Stanley choose to live primarily in the Parable. Oswin always treats me to some treats and snacks in return for my services however, so it's not too bad. Though most of the time it's just Oswin cleaning around.

Gardening. In the warmer months I used to do a lot of gardening around the house. We used to have a lot of potted plants in the kitchen where I would tend to. However, due to a recent...rodent infestation we've had to take them out of the house. I do hope we can get more plants as the weather warms up.

Walking. In the warmer months, I like to walk around the neighbourhood and enjoy the scenery. I usually need someone else with me for this however, and most of the time its Oswin. But for the most part taking walks is part of my repertoire of things-to-do.

This list isn't expansive, as this is all I can think of at the moment. Because most of the time if Oswin has the energy to, he takes me around with him while he goes about his day. So I often visit his University alongside him. But this list only covers the things that I do either without him, or at home by myself. So I suppose I'll update this list should I ever gain another hobby. 🥰

That one Doors update anxiety a previous Anon mentioned. But the next update's is confirmed to bring us improved UGCs and much needed game modifiers, so we good so far.

AO3 specific, but when you have a small but active fanfic community, you always wonder if that new kudos is from someone you've seen around often.

That sad realization people generally find fanfiction to be "cringe" and you don't have more of the fandom to talk about it to.

I think people find fanfiction cringe (especially reader inserts) because they are traumatized by the 'sold to one direction' era. Thank god I never liked one direction so I've never read or wrote one of those, but I hear they're… something else.

Hello!

Just a quick update following the StarFold Project, i have decided to cancel the game entirely on 08/07/2024. >Why?

For starters, my passion has since dissipated for trying to turn this into an actual game, i have stopped using Roblox Studio as it was near to impossible to actually try and code in some of the ideas i have, there are only two developers (me and my friend) working on it, we are still in school, and i've taken on writing as my outlet instead. my works will be found on wattpad by "pyrophor1czz" instead, i am currently compiling all existing files left over from this game on my PC. i wanna play the other games on mobile (i used to play star rail on mobile ngl LMFAO then realized 'hey this is fun' and moved to pc after genshin got too big. or maybe i had both at the same time i cant remember now ghreuigh) but uhm. the farthest i get in wuwa on mobile is like the opening loading screen before we see the rovers (it just stops there. even the music stops i think?? ive left it on and did other stuff but nothing happened and its either it wants me to wait super long, or theres just no hope) i did the tutorial for solo leveling arise on mobile but then trying to do literally anything else (like trying to access the menu) kicks me out of the game so then i had to move to pc. genuinely scary game first time around it shut down my pc, and even at lowest graphics kept warning me that 'for smoother gameplay you should have lower graphics' or something so fan on all the time (i have a fan pointed directly at my laptop.) and honestly. im not even that big of a fan of solo leveling why am i here (meilin fisher that is why. anyway i got her. so. shes not even an actual character outside the game??) ive literally only seen the anime and i forgot most of it😭

zzz on my phone is just black screen. it kicks me out. the farthest ive gotten is it asking if i want notifications but it still kicks me out

long/detailed version: good news guys, i can use xbox now/again. so originally i couldn't sign into xbox last night. like i have 2 factor authenticator for my Xbox acc,but its only supposed to do it if a login is on a new console/device. so idk why it was doing it to my xbox that i've been using. and i got locked out cuz of to many attempts. but my pass was correct, as i checked password manager as well as tried signing into my acc once i changed the pass(it would say it was successful and all that). i even tried with my gmail acc,but to no avail. so before work today, i tried signing in with my gmail,and it worked but it was trying to have me make a new acc and all that. and i couldn't sign in with my yahoo acc cuz it was blocked/locked out(i think it was a 24 hr ban). the thing is, like i tried making new recovery options and stuff but it claimed i didn't input enough info and that i was still locked out and then to make matters worse i wasn't getting codes either. like i would try my 2 Hotmail acc's and my gmail and like it would say it sent out but i never got a code. finally after like the 30th attempt(not really 30,but probably close 2 it),i finally got a code. was able to make a new pass and sign in. i have fortnite,roblox,and asphalt 9 currently updating. so they should be ready by the time i stream on it Wednesday or friday. i think they had problems on their end. like i think Xbox and/or Microsoft had a glitch/bug cuz like the pass i tried for gmail last night that said wrong, magically became workable today. and like the password that i was using for my yahoo last night said it was wrong, but then i tried using that same pass on my yahoo mail before i changed it last night(cuz i thought i had to as couldn't sign in),was working for the yahoo mail. i guess what i should've done/what i will do for future ref,is i will look at password manager for the xbox/Microsoft pass and enter it as shown and if it says its wrong, I'll just wait and try again later so that i won't get locked out again.
