Clamping her hand over her mouth, Adaine flushes, her cheeks alight with fire, unwilling to raise her head and see Fabian’s reaction to her. It’s just— She’s relieved. Something light breezes through her veins, like celestial hands gently lifting that heavy, invisible burden off of her shoulders, the weight of her guilt and remorse, of the secret she’s been keeping for so long. All this time, Adaine has been worrying over how Fabian would take it if he found out about her infidelity, only to be slapped in the face by the fact that he’s been doing it too. — — — The moral quandary of accidentally, unintentionally, perhaps indulgently, cheating on your partner with a hot knight — except Adaine and Fabian don't know they're doing it at the same time.
