THE DEAL || CA
ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
pt. 2, (previous part)
summary: Carlos hated having a PR manager, especially one who was his age. Convincing her to leave was the best plan he'd ever had, but what happens when he realises he doesn't want her to go?
pairing: carlos alcaraz x fem!reader
warning: diabolical tension
a/n: this is kind of all over the place because Iâm trying to build up enough foundation before the tournament starts. I hope you like it (please tell me how much you like it, I need validation)
MASTERLIST

You sat in an uncomfortable silence typing away on your laptop. In your peripheral, you could see the Spaniard slowly moving to lie down on the sofa from his seated position.
"Don't fall asleep." A frustrated grunt came from Carlos as he repositioned himself slightly resting his head against the back of the sofa.
"Okay and if they ask you about potentially facing Djokovic?" Your eyes watched the screen intently scanning the prospective questions on your laptop.
"I tell them I've beaten him before and I believe I can again, especially with my new serve and resetting over the break." His tone was dull and his eyes watched the ceiling.
"Perfect, any questions about the back end of last season or concentration just try to redirect and talk about the work you've been doing over the break." Carlos nodded, scrutinising you're every movement with his gaze.
You wrote down notes that you could send Carlos on everything you'd been discussing. You leaned back against the sofa, gently falling into the cushions as you moved to sit cross-legged.
Carlos' eyes observed you as you intently stared at the screen, "D'you get bored doing this?" Your eyes flitted to the Spaniard briefly for the first time since you began going over questions,
"What do you mean?" You returned to doing work, shaking your head at the silly question as you watched the time in the corner of your screen tick by.
You were desperate to get this done so you could return to your room and sleep, doing your best to ignore the looming tension of the deal you had earlier agreed to.
"I get bored at you asking me questions, and I'm the player. Don't you get bored of writing up answers and managing my media presence?" You paused briefly, the condescending tone grating on you. You met the brown eyes that hadn't left your frame.
"I love my job, I get to see behind the sports in a way no one else does. Plus I'm good at it." He looked sceptically,
"I'd rather play." You shook your head in amusement, finishing up the final question.
"Unfortunately we can't all be professional tennis players Alcaraz." He smirked at your response, getting up off the sofa and heading to the kitchen area.
You emailed the Spaniard the work you'd done the evening, finally closing your laptop and letting relief flood your body.
"Luckily for you, we're done for the evening. I'd like some pyjamas and then I'll get out of your way." You stood up moving slightly towards the door, begging to leave the company of the man who held you with such contempt.
"Gracias a Dios" (Thank god) His thankful tone stung slightly, envying the time when your clients enjoyed your company, and you'd stay long after the work was done due to the friendships you had founded.
He disappeared down the corridor and you stood by the door awkwardly. The night had ended up being the easiest day you'd had since you started, and all it took was promising Carlos you'd quit.
You knew the next issue would be telling his team and Juan Carlos would no doubt try to convince you to stay. But the thought of enjoying your job again loomed in the back of your mind and pushed you forward.
Just over two weeks. That's all you had to get through and now with Carlos actually cooperating it should've been simpler.
You checked the time and the massive 00:00 glared at you on the screen. It was a busy day tomorrow that involved you waking up with the sun and the dream of a full eight hours sleep has slipped from your grasp.
Just as you began to mentally plan for the content and work you needed to do tomorrow, Carlos reappeared his 6-foot stature looming over you.
"I donât have pyjamas, so this is just some joggers and a t-shirt." He handed you the clothing, his hand brushing yours which jolted through your nervous system. In the last six hours, you'd been closer to the Spaniard in the entirety of your time working for him.
You avoided the brown eyes looking down at you, taking the items and moving towards the door. "That should be fine."
You walked to the door, reaching for the handle and standing in the open doorway. Just before stepping out into the hallway, you turned to face the Spaniard, shooting him a small smile that he didn't return.
"See you tomorrow Alcaraz." He nodded and the door closed in front of you.
Defeated you trudged back to your room, slipping into the far too big-for-you shirt and joggers that the Spaniard had lent you. They were bathed in his cologne and the musky scent filled your nostrils as you climbed into bed.
As you lay there waiting for sleep to hit you, you thought of what this job would've been like had Carlos not hated you from the outset.
Watching him play was magnificent and you wanted to be a part of the team that helped him achieve greatness, not to mention his Spanish charm had won over so many.
Every cold glance he gave you cut deeper and as you drifted off to sleep you were haunted by the way he had looked at you the first time you met.
...
The sun beat down on the outdoor courts. You watched Alcaraz move diligently from edge to edge of the light blue tarmac. The heat permeated through your body as the light summer dress you wore did nothing to alleviate the temperature.
You gaze fixated on the Spaniard's taut muscles and how he slid to seemingly effortlessly receive the ball. You had your phone up, taking photos and videos to go on Instagram later, but really you found yourself distracted by each noise that left his lips.
Your sunglasses rested lazily on the edge of your nose, and as Carlos' arms hit the ball over and over, your eyes watched his biceps carefully.
You understood why he had a flock of women watching his every move, his physique and tennis ability pulling so many in. Then there was his annoying smile.
The ball hit Juanki's torso with Carlos letting out a loud laugh that echoes through your mind. Carlos looked to his team who also laughed over the moment and his eyes flickered to you.
When he saw that your eyes were already on him, he smirked. A smug look took over his face and he shot you a wink, your face turned red and you quickly moved your gaze back to your phone.
You sent the photo to Carlos and picked up your bag, heading onto the court.
"Alcaraz, interview time let's get going." The clock was ticking down and media day was calling, with Alcaraz lined up for a fairly full day of pre-tournament interviews.
"cinco minutos mĂĄs." (five more minutes.) The Spaniard called to you calmly as he continued hitting the ball back and forth across the court.
"Alcaraz. Now. We're already late." Carlos rolled his eyes, Juan Carlos telling him to go. The Spaniard headed towards you, the smile long gone replaced with his usual grimace.
"Disfruta la vista allĂĄ atrĂĄs" (Enjoy the view back there?) he taunted, his large hands reaching down to grab his tennis bag that was by your feet.
While he bent down to grab the bag, he brushed your side, your breath catching in your throat as you felt his arms brush yours. Then leaning into your ear as he stood back up. "You were blushing."
"I was doing my job, you know, filming content for you. Plus it's hot out here, I was just flushed." Your tone stood strong, but your eyes were telling a different story. Your body was covered in goosebumps, the bench behind you stopping you from stepping away.
He finally took a step away, which allowed your shoulders to fall in ease. He began to walk off with the same smug look as before back on his face, "ÂżNo tenemos una entrevista a la que llegar?" (Don't we have an interview to get to?)
You shook your head, annoyance for the man filling your body. Not only was he being difficult, but now he'd resorted to teasing and taunting which was somehow worse than his angry indifference.
You turned to face Juanki as you began walking off the court behind Alcaraz, mouthing 'I'm going to kill him' which elicited a laugh from the coach.
"Have fun you two!" He called out and was met with two frustrated groans. Carlos stood at the exit waiting for you to catch up and began trudging behind you.
Walking through the grounds, he smiled, waved, and took pictures with the multitude of fans who spotted him. You'd silently stand to the side or offer to take the photo when needed.
The consistent stopping slowed you down, but you didn't mind when you saw the giddy smile of every fan's face as they met with Carlos' warm demeanour.
You eventually made it to the conference room. Before stepping into the room, you grabbed Carlos' arm, pulling him out of the doorway. He turned to face you, his eyes analysing your fingers wrapped around his bicep.
As his gaze focused on your hand, you pulled away as if his skin had burned you. "Sorry. I just wanted to remind you of everything we went over. This is just pre-tournament chatter so you should be okay."
"I've got it. Why won't you just let me do it." His tone was sharp and you rolled your eyes, your arms crossing in front of your chest in annoyance.
"It's not that I think you can't do it, I just want to help." Carlos took a step back from you, scoffing at your plea.
"Well I don't need your help." He left your side, walking into the room before you had a chance to respond. You threw your hands up in pure frustration, but the Spaniard had his back to you so the action was mostly for yourself.
You moved inside the room and sat down in the front row, ready to take notes.
The questions started light and easy, talking about the Spaniards off-season, the changes to his serve, the added weight in his racket. He answered the questions diligently, following everything you'd been through the night before.
You couldn't help but smile as he answered perfectly time and time again, showing you how easy this job could've been and subsequently how needlessly painful the Spaniard had been making it.
But then it fell apart. The questions began to get more pointed. More trying, asking him about losing to Jannik, losing to players outside the top 20, another year of struggles at the US Open. Then the straw that broke the camel's back came.
"So Carlos, your performance declined rapidly at the back end of last year, especially after your loss to Novak in the Olympics. How does that affect your mentality coming into Australia knowing you could face him?"
Shit. You knew you'd prepared Carlos for the question but you also knew how painful the Olympics loss had been. You knew how he was dreading facing Novak and you knew by the look in his eye that he was caught off guard by the question.
Your breath shallowed while you tried to stay calm as he sat there looking from the interviewer to you, the unease clearly written on his features.
"Um." He paused, he caught your gaze and you tried to send him a reassuring look. He looked down to his hands, lifting his head to meet the interviewers' gaze.
"I think to say my performance declined rapidly is stupid." Shit. Your head fell into your hands and you held back an audible groan. Some in the press conference laughed but Carlos didn't join in.
"I also beat Novak at Wimbledon, so maybe he should be the one scared to face me, no?" The room fell into a tense silence. The stone cold look on Carlos' face put off any follow up questions.
Carlos stood up, his demeanour clearly agitated, ringing his hands at his sides. He left the room and didn't slow down for you like he usually did. You quickly left, thanking the interviewers and apologising for Carlos before you rushed after him.
"Alcaraz, wait!" He didn't turn around, instead turning a corner and disappearing out of sight. You turned the corner and found him resting against the wall, shoulders slumped and hands covering his face.
"What was that?!" You stood in front of him and he pulled his hands from his face.
"Oh come on Y/N, He was out of line!" Carlos raised his voice in frustration, a clear sign of how much the interviewer had got to him.
"And we had prepared answers, you didn't need to be an asshole about it." You rested on the other side of the hallway, your annoyed facade matching the Spaniard's.
"You have no idea what it's like to sit there and have everything you do, questions and torn apart." Carlos stood up straight, closing the distance between you with his angry ranting.
"Maybe I donât, but I do know what it's like to have to deal with you being an asshole." His face was mere metres from yours. Your hands moved to rest on his chest as he moved his mouth down to your ear.
"Then it's a good thing you won't have to for much longer, isn't it?" His spiteful tone sent a cold chill down your spine as his hand slid to your waist.
"Counting down the days Alcaraz." His breath hit your neck and you snapped, pushing away the tennis player's large figure. He had a smirk on his face as he stumbled back slightly.
You moved away from him, turning away from him quickly and storming away from the interaction. Your heart was racing and your chest was pounding, unable to sense if it was blinding rage or maybe something else.

Excerpt From Impulse's 6/12 Stream Recap
1:28:40 Grian logs in, tells everyone in chat âJust so you know, Iâm off to play badminton,â then logs out. They decide that this is a clear case of FOMO. Impulse asks if thatâs the game with the birdie. False scoffs and corrects âShuttlecock.â Pearl confirms heâs thinking of the right game. They talk about Badminton for a few minutes. Impulse says that badminton is not really a thing in America; they play pickleball instead. Everyone is baffled. He tries to explain it. Pearl asks if itâs the game with the long stick and a tiny racket on the end ((possibly lacrosse?)) Impulse says no, but thatâs itâs very popular.
Ren says itâs a ridiculous name and needs to be changed. Impulse demands to know how they can call something a shuttlecock and think they have the high ground for naming anything. Ren says itâs just mini tennis. He has an idea. Hermitcraft table tennis Olympics, five day round-robin event. Theyâd sell out a stadium. False and Pearl are deeply skeptical. Impulse thinks they should play basketball. Doc and Mumbo against each other, Impulse vs. Bdubs, etc. Pearl says she wants to play against Skizz. Impulse is very into this idea now. Ren asks diffidently what the rules are. Impulse assures him itâs just regular street ball. Ren has never played basketball. He played NBA Jam on Sega. He asks if heâs allowed to SuperDunk.
False and Pearl discuss Dodgeball. Ren wants to play Pool, so nobody gets hot and sweaty. False suggests Bowls. Ren and Pearl are very enthusiastic about the idea. Impulse is baffled. âAre you saying balls?â he asks. âBOWLS,â Ren corrects hastily. Chat is amused. Ren tells False she can never call him inappropriate again. She slaps him a couple times and calls him the guy whoâs never played basketball instead.

I finally did it. Wrote 3 long pages for this friend who's practically family (or at least that's what I like to think) but now that it's their birthday, im freaking out. Took a lot of guts for a scaredy-cat like me to spill my heart out like this. And now, im too nervous to actually hand it over. What if they read it in front of everyone? (or even just in front of me? shoot, pls im not ready for that kind of stuff) ive poured out stuff ive never even said out loud. Holding those pages, my palms are sweaty, and my vision's blurry from the tears. I can't even breathe right. How am I supposed to face them after giving this? im tempted to just rip it all up, but part of me wants them to know, even if it terrifies me.
#I guess I'll just give it to them along with the gifts#And after today#we probably won't run into each other for a month.#hopefully my avoiding stuff won't be a big deal#but I've been trying to work on it#I am so scared#pls pray for me#I sent a dry#two-line 'happy birthday' wish#but I added an emoticon#(I just realized it now#but I can't change anything)#So I hope they know I'm not being rude#plus they don't know what's coming for them in a few hours#And that's making me so nervous

â â ââ ââ pairing: joe burrow x wife!reader.
â â ââ ââ word count: 8k.
In the bustling backroom of the grand ballroom, you stood tall and radiant, your brown eyes sparkling with a blend of excitement and exhaustion. The scent of your bouquet of baby breaths filled the small space, mingling with the faint aroma of Joe's cologne. You took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the wedding gown you had spent months choosing.
Joe, dressed sharply in his tuxedo, leaned against the wall with his arms folded, his blue eyes dancing with amusement as he watched you fidget with your dress. "You look like you're about to jump out of your skin," he said, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth.
You rolled your eyes, a laugh bubbling up from your chest. "You have no idea," you replied, your voice filled with energy. "I've been holding it together for hours, and now all I want to do is kick off these heels and dance like a lunatic."
Joe chuckled, his sarcasm giving way to affection as he stepped closer to you. He reached out and took your hand, his thumb brushing over your knuckles in a gentle caress. "Well, Mrs. Burrow," he began, his voice low and teasing, "once we make our grand entrance, the dance floor is all yours."
Your eyes lit up at the sound of your new title, a grin spreading across your face. "And what will Mr. Burrow be doing?" you asked, raising an eyebrow playfully.
Joe shrugged, his own smile growing. "Probably tripping over my own two feet. You know I'm more of a 'sway and hope nobody notices' kind of dancer."
"Not tonight, Joey." You said with a mischievous glint in your eye. "Tonight, you're dancing with me like you mean it."
Joe feigned a dramatic sigh, but the joy in his eyes was unmistakable. "Fine," he drew out the vowels, rolling his eyes playfully despite the unmistakable grin that was spreading across his face. "But only if you promise not to laugh when I get a few drinks in me."
Your laugh was music to Joe's ears, and he felt his own tension start to unwind. "Deal," you said, leaning in to kiss him lightly. The kiss was chaste, but it carried the promise of a million more to come, each one more passionate than the last.
The door to the room swung open and in barged a rush of laughter and chatter as your wedding party piled in. "Alright, Mr. & Mrs. Burrow," your wedding planner called out, her voice a mix of hurry and delight. "It's showtime!"
-
"You're up to something," Joe murmured, catching the mischievous glint in your eyes as you sauntered into the hotel room. The evening air clung to your skin, carrying the faint scent of your wedding flowers with you. He was lounging on the plush bed, scrolling through his phone, his muscular form stretched out in the white cotton pajamas that matched your own.
"Me? I'm not up to anything," you retorted, your laughter twinkling in the quiet space. The sight of you made Joe's heart stumble, the way you filled out those pajamas like they were tailored just for youâthey were. He knew that look, though. The way you bit your lower lip and your hips swayed just so. You had something on your mind, and it sure as hell wasn't sleep.
Joe set his phone aside, settling deeper into the pillows. "You're smiling too hard for it to be nothing," he said, a playful smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.
You prowled closer, your smile deepening with the grin that spread across your face. "Maybe I'm just happy to see my husband," you said, your voice a purr that sent a shiver down Joe's spine. "My shiny, new husband."
He knew better.
That glint in your eye was the same one you had before you tackled him into bed back home. Before he could say anything else, you straddled him, your thighs pressing into his hips, palms pressing him into the hotel bedsheets eagerly.
"Your wife is ovulating, Mr. Burrow," you whispered into his ear, your hot breath tickling his neck. Joe couldn't help but laugh, his hands instinctively reaching to grip your waist.
"And that means?" Joe replied, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through your body. Despite his amusement, there was a flicker of interest in his eyes.
"It means I want you to do something about it," you said, your voice dropping to a seductive whisper. You began to rock your hips against him, the friction making you wetter by the second. Joe's laughter died in his throat, and he stared up at you, his eyes darkening.Â
"I know how much you love it when I'm like this," you cooed, your hands sliding under his shirt to trace the contours of his solid upper body.
"Is that so?" Joe said, his voice thick with amusement. He couldn't deny that there was something about you at your most aroused that made his heart skip a beat. It had become a secret little card between the two of you, one that you loved to play when you knew he was at his most susceptible.
"Mmhmm," you murmured, your teeth grazing his earlobe. "Remember that time you said I smell like heaven when I'm ovulating?"
Joe couldn't help the smirk that tugged at his lips. "I might have said something like that," he admitted, his voice a low, playful rumble.
You leaned in closer, your breath hot against his skin. "Well, heaven's calling," you said, your hips moving in a slow, deliberate circle that made Joe's eyes roll back in his head.
"You're going to be the death of me, woman," he groaned, his hands tightening around your waist as you continued her delicate torture.
Your grin grew wider, your brown eyes gleaming with mischief. "Is that a 'yes'? Youâre not too tired?" you asked, your voice dripping with sweet seduction.
"It's definitely a 'yes', sweetheart. I could never be too tired for you," Joe managed, his breath hitching as your hips continued their mesmerizing dance. He pushed your pajama shorts aside, the gold wedding band glittering against his skin as his fingers moved to reveal your slick folds.
"But you better be quiet," he warned, glancing over at the walls that separated them from your parents' rooms on either side. "I don't think they need to know what we're up to over here."
âItâs our wedding night, baby. I think our parents would hope we'd be having dirty marital sex on our wedding night,â you giggled, the sound light and airy, as you leaned down to kiss him. "They want grandbabies and this is how it happens."
Your tongue slipped into his mouth, tasting like mint and a hint of the champagne you had picked out for the reception. The kiss grew deeper, more urgent, until Joe couldn't take it anymore. He flipped you onto your back, his body covering yours, his cock pressing against your heat.
"You're so wet," he murmured, his voice filled with wonder and lust.
"Told you," you said, your voice a smug whisper. You reached down to stroke him through his pants, feeling him twitch against your palm. "You always get me like this."
Joe chuckled, his blue eyes sparkling with desire. "So itâs not just the multi-million dollar fortune now in your name?" he murmured, kissing you deeply.
"We can't have you waking up the whole floor." He pulled your pajama shorts down before throwing them over his shoulder to discard them. Your laughter was muffled against his neck as he positioned himself between your legs.
He slid into you with a groan, the feeling of your tight warmth around him making him forget about the walls that were a little too thin. Your nails dug into his back as he began to move, slow at first, savoring every inch of you.
"Fuck," you breathed, your eyes squeezed shut. "You feel so good."
Joe's teeth sank into your shoulder to keep his own moans quiet. "You're so wet, baby," he murmured, his voice strained. "So, so wet."
"I can't help it," you panted, your legs wrapping around him. "You looked so good out there, all husband-y and...fuck, Joe, right there."
Joe chuckled against your neck, his teeth grazing your skin as he hit your sweet spot with precision. He knew exactly how to make you squirm. He loved it when you lost control, when you forgot about the world around you and just focused on the pleasure he was giving you.
"Iâm so thankful youâre mine," he whispered, his hips driving into you with increasing force. The headboard hit the wall with a muffled thump that made you both giggle, despite the intensity of the moment. You wrapped your arms around Joe's neck, your nails lightly raking his scalp as you pulled him closer, silently begging for more.
Joe's breath was hot against your neck as he murmured, "You're so fucking tight."
The words sent a shiver down your spine, and you couldn't help but moan a little louder. "Shh," Joe said, a hint of laughter in his voice as he pressed a finger to your lips. "These walls are so thin."
You rolled your eyes playfully, but your breath hitched when Joe reached over to grab a pillow. He slammed it over your face, muffling your laughter. "Not helping," you mumbled into the softness.
He threw the pillow aside with a laugh and slid his thumb into your mouth instead, your teeth grazing the pad as you tried to keep your noises down. It was a struggle, especially as he found his rhythm and your moans grew more insistent. The scent of your arousal filled the air, and Joe couldn't resist the urge to bury his nose in your neck, inhaling deeply. It was like a drug, making his cock throb even more.
"So good. My wifeâs so tight, squeezing her husbandâs cock so well, like she was fuckin' made for it," he groaned, his fingers tightening in your hair as he held you in place. Your eyes were squeezed shut, your body arching up to meet his every thrust. The quiet room was filled with the slick sounds of skin on skin, your harsh breathing, and the occasional muffled curse.
"You're so...so...oh, fuck, Joey," you managed, your words barely audible around his fingers. Your legs trembled, your body poised on the edge of release.
Joe couldn't hold back his own groans any longer. He knew he was pushing your buttons, and the way you squirmed beneath him was all the encouragement he needed. "I know, baby," he murmured, his voice a mix of affection and lust. "You're close, aren't you?"
You nodded, your eyes squeezed shut as Joe picked up the pace. You were close, so close, but he wasn't done with you yet. He pulled his thumb from your mouth and slammed into you harshly, his balls slapping against your ass. The sound was obscene, but Joe couldn't bring himself to care. All he could focus on was the feel of your tight pussy clamping down around him, your walls pulsing with each thrust.
Your eyes snapped open, and you looked up at Joe with a mix of love and pure desire. "Don't stop," you begged, your voice a breathy whisper. "Please, Joe, don't stop."
"Never," Joe promised, his voice a gruff growl. He thrust deeper, feeling your muscles tighten around him. He knew you were close, and the thought of you coming apart under him was all he needed to fall over the edge. He reached down to rub your clit in tight circles, his fingers slipping and sliding in your wetness. "I'm gonna fill this sweet pussy up. Make my wife happy like I vowed. Might even make you a mama." he murmured, his voice low and guttural.
Your eyes rolled back in your head, your breath coming in short gasps. The pressure was building, coiling in your stomach, threatening to break free. You nodded, your hips bucking up to meet his. "Please, Joe," you whimpered, your voice barely above a whisper. "I need it."
With a powerful thrust, Joe gave you what you craved. Your eyes snapped open, and you bit down on your lip to keep from screaming. He didn't stop, though, his strokes growing faster and more erratic.
"That's it, baby. Keep squeezing me, just like that. Gonna make you feel real good, sweetheart. Get you all nice and warm with my cum, huh?" Joe's voice was a gruff whisper in your ear as you rode the waves of pleasure.Â
âIs that what you want?â His words were like gasoline on a fire, sending sparks of arousal through your body. You could feel him thicken inside you, his breaths growing harsher with each thrust. âYou want me to give you a baby?â
Your eyes squeezed shut as you nodded, your hips moving in time with Joe's. The room was a whirlwind of sensations, the scent of your sex mingling with the faint ocean breeze that slipped through the open balcony doors. The sound of the waves outside seemed to echo the rhythm of your lovemaking, a steady movement building up to a crescendo.
"Oh, Joe," you breathed, your voice strained. "Fuck, yes. Yes."
Your eyes met, and Joe saw the desperation in them, the need for release that mirrored his own. He leaned down, his mouth claiming yours in a fierce kiss as he slammed into you, giving you everything he had. Your nails dug into his back, your body writhing beneath his. And then you were there, your orgasm crashing over you like a wave, your inner muscles clenching down around his cock in a spasm of pleasure. He spilled over the edge at the same time, filling you with his hot, thick spend. You both froze for a moment, the room silent except for the harsh sounds of your panting.
"Holy shit," Joe breathed, collapsing onto you with a satisfied groan. His chest heaved with each breath, his heart racing in his ears. The feel of you, warm and wet around him, was heavenly. He kissed your neck, your skin salty with a sheen of sweat.
You chuckled, the vibrations traveling through Joe's body. "You're such a romantic," you teased. "Now get off, you're 20 pounds heavier than normal."
"Nah, gotta make sure it all stays inside, you know?" Joe quipped, his voice muffled by your shoulder. He didn't move, enjoying the feeling of your body still quivering with the aftershocks of your climax. You giggled, your breath warm against his neck.
"You're ridiculous," you murmured, your voice still shaky with pleasure. Joe's laughter rumbled against your skin, his body a delicious weight that you didn't want to shift just yet. The two of you lay there, tangled in the sheets, your hearts racing in sync.
"There's no way they didn't hear something," you said, your voice a mix of exasperation and amusement. You could feel Joe's cock still twitching inside you, the evidence of his release seeping out to wet the bed between your legs.
"Your mom's been talking nonstop about a grandchild. I think she'll appreciate the knowledge that we're working on it right away," Joe replied with a lazy grin, not bothering to move. You playfully slapped his ass, making him yelp.
"Get off, you're crushing me," you giggled, pushing at Joe's shoulder. He chuckled, rolling off you and flopping onto his back. His cock slipped out with a wet sound, and you couldn't help but stare at the mess you had made. You felt a warm trickle of his cum slide out of you and trickle down your thigh.
Joe glanced over and grinned. "Looks like we've got a little cleanup on aisle five," he said, gesturing to the wet spot on the bed.
You threw a pillow at him, which he caught with ease. "You're so annoying," you said, your voice filled with affection. "If you're gonna be into this breeding kink thing, you're gonna have to help clean me up after."
Joe sat up, his chest heaving from the exertion. "Fair enough," he said, tossing the pillow back at you. "Can I lick you clean?" he offered with a waggle of his eyebrows, his voice filled with mischief.
You rolled your eyes, but the heat in your gaze betrayed your arousal. "Perv," you murmured, a smirk playing on your lips.
Joe shrugged, unabashed. "What? Is that a yes?" He leaned over to nip at your earlobe, sending a shiver down your spine. Despite the teasing, there was a genuine question in his voice, his breath hot against your skin.
"Not today, playboy," you said, swatting Joe's hand away as he reached for your still-sensitive folds. "But I'll keep it in mind for later."
You slithered out of bed, the dampness between your legs leaving a stain on the sheet. "For now, I'm going to take a shower before your mom starts knocking on the door wondering if we're okay."
Joe watched your retreating form with a lazy smile, his eyes lingering on your round, firm ass as you disappeared into the en suite bathroom. "Without me?" he called after you, pouting as he feigned disappointment in his voice.
When you looked at him over your shoulder, a smile pulling at your lips, he leaped out of bed. His cock was still half-hard as he chased after you, his playfulness evident in every step.
-
You stretched your limbs against the crisp, white villa sheets. You blinked your brown eyes open to the early morning sun peeking through the luxurious curtains, hinting at the promise of a new day. Next to you, Joe lay still, his chest rising and falling with the steady rhythm of sleep. His dirty blonde hair was a mess, a heartwarming contrast to his usually meticulous grooming.
You couldn't help but smile at the sight of the man who was now your husband. Your first days as a married couple had been filled with passion and laughter, and you were eager to start this new chapter of your life together.
Your private plane ride had been nothing short of a dream. The thrilling rush of flying high above the clouds, sipping champagne, and even sneaking away to join the mile-high club in the spacious bathroom.
As you slipped out of bed, the soft carpet whispered a greeting beneath your bare feet. You padded over to the floor-to-ceiling window, taking in the breathtaking view of the tropical paradise that stretched out before you. The sea was a canvas of azure, blending into the horizon where the sun had just begun to paint streaks of gold and pink. It was the perfect setting for a honeymoon, and you couldn't have been more grateful for Joe's thoughtful surprise.
As you continued to gaze at the view, you felt Joe's arms snake around your waist from behind. He pulled you into his embrace, pressing a soft kiss to the nape of your neck. "Good morning, Mrs. Burrow," he murmured, his voice thick with sleep and a hint of pride. You giggled, feeling the warmth of his body against yours.
"Good morning, Mr. Burrow," you replied, leaning into his touch. "I can't believe we're actually here." You twisted around in his arms, your smile widening as you met his gaze. Joe's blue eyes sparkled with love as he said, "I know what you mean. I had to pinch myself during the flight to make sure it wasn't just a dream."
"Was that before or after we christened the plane's bathroom?" You quipped, your eyes dancing with mischief. Joe chuckled, his arms tightening around you as you shared the intimate memory.
"Before," he said, his voice low and playful. "But I'm sure we can make some more memories today if you're up for it."
You decided to shower together, the warm water cascading over your bodies as you soaped each other up. The sensual act of washing each other had become a morning ritual for you, a gentle reminder of your love and devotion. As you stepped out, Joe couldn't resist smacking your ass playfully, making you yelp in surprise. You shot him a mock glare, which quickly melted into a grin as you grabbed a towel and dried off.
Dressing in your swimwear, you headed down to breakfast. The hotel had laid out a spread that could feed a small army, but you kept it simple: avocado eggs benedict for you and an omelet for him, a side of crispy bacon for you both. You sat by the pool, sipping on tropical smoothies, the gentle sound of the waves in the distance setting the mood for the day ahead. You felt your excitement build as you listened to Joe recount the plans he had made for your day.
Your midday snorkeling adventure was nothing short of magical. The crystal-clear waters revealed a vibrant underwater world of coral reefs and a rainbow of fish. You couldn't help but cling to Joe's arm in amazement as you floated above the aquatic wonderland. His constant, nerdy stream of ocean facts kept you laughing. You held hands underwater, your wedding rings glinting in the sunlight that pierced through the surface, a symbolic declaration of your commitment to each other.
-
"You're so sunburnt," you teased, your eyes sparkling with mirth as you traced your finger across Joe's pink shoulder. Your own skin, kissed by the sun, had a warm glow that contrasted with the vibrant, floral-printed sundress that clung deliciously to your curves like a second skin.
Joe groaned dramatically, his fair complexion suffering from the tropical heat more than your naturally darker skin. "You think that's funny?" he shot back, though his smile gave away his playful annoyance.
You had spent the entire day snorkeling in the crystal waters and lounging under the palm trees, and Joe in all his stubbornness had decided against sunscreen, claiming it would be nice to get a "tan" in. Needless to say, the Caribbean sun had been less than kind to his poor, Midwestern pale skin. You had been more fortunate, your skin a beautiful canvas of brown with the hint of a shimmer from your coconut-scented sunscreen.
"It's hilarious, actually," you said, leaning in to kiss his burnt nose. "Come on. We can grab some aloe from the gift shop for your poor, crispy skin."
Joe rolled his eyes, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips. "Oh, the joys of being married to a smartass," he murmured, pulling you closer to his side. Your hand splayed across his chest, ring catching the golden sunlight as he pressed a fleeting kiss to your temple.
"You love this smart ass," you quipped back, gasping with surprise as Joe's left hand reached down to smooth over the fabric covering your ass.
"I do love this ass," Joe murmured lowly, delivering a full-handed squeeze to each of your cheeks. "No lie."
After retrieving the aloe from the gift shop, you retreated to your luxurious villa. The room was bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun, casting a warm, romantic light over the plush California king-sized bed and the floor-to-ceiling windows that revealed the stunning view of the ocean. You carefully applied the cool aloe vera gel to Joe's sun-bitten skin, your gentle touch offering a sweet respite from the sting.
Joe's eyes fluttered shut as you worked your way down his back, your fingers tracing the contours of his muscles, which had been honed from countless hours in the gym and on the field. He could feel the tension of the day melting away under your touch.
"I'm sorry, baby," you hummed softly as Joe hissed when you reached a particularly tender spot. "I know it stings."
"It's okay," Joe managed through gritted teeth, his eyes still closed. "Guess I'll have to stay out of the sun tomorrow."
You chuckled, your hands continuing their soothing dance across his skin. "I can't imagine that happening. It's so beautiful out there," you said, glancing out at the horizon where the sun was dipping below the waves.
"Just means I get to stay in bed with you all day," Joe murmured, his voice thick with innuendo. He turned his head from his spot on his stomach, looking at you over his shoulder with a smoldering gaze.
Your laughter turned into a knowing smile, and you leaned in to kiss the back of his neck. "Is that a promise?" you asked, your voice dropping to a whisper that sent shivers down his spine.
Joe's gaze met yours in the reflection of the large, ornate mirror on the opposite wall. "I'm a man who takes his vows seriously," he replied, his voice low and gruff with desire. Your eyes darkened with anticipation as you set the aloe aside, replacing it with a bottle of massage oil. You climbed back onto the bed, straddling his back with the bottle balanced delicately in your hand.
"Let's see if we can make this feel a little better," you said, your tone a mix of sweetness and conspiracy. You began to work the oil into his shoulders, your soft, skilled hands kneading out the knots that had formed from a full day of swimming and sun.
Joe groaned in pleasure, his eyes still locked on yours in the mirror. "You're a miracle worker," he murmured, feeling the heat of the oil and your touch seep into his sore muscles.
You grinned, your eyes glued to his baby blues. "Just doing my wifey duties," you said, your voice dripping with sweetness. You continued to massage him, your hands moving in slow, firm circles that grew increasingly sensual as you worked your way down his back.
Joe felt his body responding to your touch, his muscles relaxing and his skin prickling with goosebumps. "Is this part of the standard honeymoon package?" he managed to ask, his voice strained.
You giggled, your hands sliding lower, dangerously close to the waistband of his swim trunks. "Oh, this is a special upgrade," you whispered, your breath hot against his ear as you leaned forward to press your chest to his back. "Just for my favorite man."
Your thumbs dipped beneath the fabric, tracing the waistline of his trunks and sending a jolt of electricity through his body. He bit his lip, his eyes never leaving yours in the mirror. "What else does this upgrade include?" he asked, his voice a low growl.
"Well," you began, your hands moving to the back of his trunks, "It's a full-service deal. I'll take care of every inch of you." You tugged the material down, exposing his firm, sun-neglected ass. His skin was tight and pale, practically begging for the warmth of your palms.
With a devilish smirk, you started to massage the oil into his ass, your touch feather-light at first, teasing him with the promise of more. Joe's breath hitched, his body tensing under your touch. You leaned down, your chest brushing against his back as you kissed the top of his shoulder. "Do you like that?" you whispered, your breath hot on his skin.
Joe's only response was a nod, his eyes squeezed shut in focus. You chuckled, your hands growing bolder, kneading his cheeks with a firmness that made him moan. Your fingers danced closer to his crack, and you could feel his arousal growing against your thigh.
"Just keep that finger to yourself, missy," Joe warned playfully, his voice strained with pleasure. Your disappointed groan was like music to his ears, and he felt his cock twitch against the mattress at the sound.
Your response was to give his right cheek a gentle smack, the sound echoing through the room. "One of these days, I'll get what I want," you teased, your hands leaving their spot on his ass to work at his shoulders once more. The warmth from your touch seeped into Joe's bones, and he couldn't help but let out a low moan.
"One of these days," he echoed, his voice thick with desire, "but not today." You knew he was enjoying the anticipation, the buildup of pleasure that you so skillfully crafted. You leaned in closer, your breasts pressing into his back again as you whispered a command into his ear to flip over.
With a groan, Joe obeyed, his cock standing at full attention underneath his swim trunks as he lay on his back, staring up at the ceiling fan that lazily spun above you. You took in the sight of your husband, your eyes lingering on the trail of hair that led from his navel to his groin, the faintest dusting of sun freckles across his shoulders, and the way his chest stood proud and firm. You couldn't help but feel a surge of pride knowing that this man, this powerful, successful man, was all yours.
Straddling his hips, you leaned over to kiss him, your oiled hands sliding over his chest. Your kisses grew more heated, Joe's hands coming up to grip your ass firmly, now his turn to kneed your flesh. You felt his cock throb against your inner thigh and you broke away, breathless. "Someone's eager," you teased, your eyes sparkling with excitement.
"You have no idea," Joe murmured, his voice breaking with surprise as you playfully pinched his nipples. You straightened your back as you sat up, your crotch slotted perfectly over his erection. Your manicured nails trailed down his stomach, the cool metal of your wedding ring sending goosebumps skittering across his skin. Joe's hands moved to your waist, his thumbs playing with the soft material of your dress. His blue eyes blazed with need as he took in your beauty, the way your tits strained against the fabric, the curve of your hips, the shadow between your thighs that promised heaven.
"You should wear these dresses more often," Joe said, his voice strained as you ground your hips against his. The dresses in question had been a staple to your honeymoon wardrobe, all thin straps and flowing in every color under the rainbow. You leaned back, arching your spine, giving him a better view of your body.
"You like them? Maybe I'll start wearing them to your games," you quipped, your eyes dancing with mischief. Joe's grip tightened on your waist, his mind racing with the thought of you in this dress, teasing him in front of the cameras. He could picture your figure amplified on national television as the color commentators declared you as his wife, your new last name rolling off their tongues easily.
"That's what I'm afraid of," Joe chuckled, his thumbs stroking your hips as he fought to keep his cool. "No way are you distracting my focus like that."
You giggled, your hands sliding down to grip the bulge of his dick through the fabric of his trunks. "But you'd love it," you whispered, your teeth grazing his earlobe. "Imagine every time you looked over at the sidelines and saw me sitting there, you'd know exactly what's waiting for you after the game."
Joe's eyes rolled back in his head as you squeezed him lightly, his hips bucking involuntarily. "I don't think I'd be able to play," he managed to murmur, his voice tight with need. "I'd spend the whole game thinking about tearing that dress off you. And I don't think I'd be the only one thinking that."
You laughed, your grip tightening on Joe's cock. "We wouldn't want that," you said, your voice a sweet purr. You sat up straight, your oiled hands sliding down your thighs to rest on Joe's. "But you can take it off me now."
He took a deep breath, his nostrils flaring with lust as he sat up and reached for the hem of the sundress. His eyes were trained on your exposed skin as he tugged the dress up over your head. He threw the thin fabric to the side, leaving you perched pretty on his lap. The ruched, bridal white string bikini you had been wearing underneath the dress contrasted beautifully against your shimmering skin.
"You're so beautiful," Joe murmured, his voice filled with awe. His eyes roamed over your body, taking in the fullness of your breasts, and the way your stomach dipped before flaring out into your hips. You leaned into him, your heart racing as his hands found the strings of your bikini top.
With a swift pull, the fabric gave way and your breasts spilled out, bouncing slightly with the movement. Joe's mouth watered as he reached out, cupping one in his hand, his thumb brushing over the hardened nipple. You gasped, arching into his touch. The coolness of the room washed over your bare skin, making you feel even more exposed and alive.
Joe's eyes never left yours as he leaned in to capture your nipple between his teeth, his tongue swirling around the sensitive bud. Your breath hitched, your hands tangling in his hair as you held him to your skin. He kissed and nipped at one peak before moving on to the other, his mouth and teeth teasing you until you were squirming in his lap.
Your hips rocked against him, your pussy slick and hot through the fabric of your bikini bottoms. Joe's cock strained against the confines of his trunks, desperate for release. He reached up, his fingers undoing the strings of your bottoms, and with a firm tug, they too gave way. Your body was laid bare before him, your skin glistening with tanning oil and the light sheen of arousal.
"Your turn," you murmured, your voice thick with desire. You pushed at Joe's shoulders, urging him to lie back on the bed. He did so willingly, his cock bobbing free as you slid his trunks down his legs. Your eyes were glued to his cock, your mouth watering at the sight of his thick, veined shaft.
Without a word, Joe lay back on the bed, his cock standing proud and eager against his stomach. You took a moment to appreciate the view, your eyes drinking in every inch of him. He was perfection personified, and you felt a thrill knowing you were the one who got to claim him.
"Let me taste you, sweetheart," Joe whispered, his voice husky with need as he maneuvered your back to fall against the crisp, white sheets. Your eyes widened in surprise but you didn't resist, your legs falling open to give him access to your slick folds. He kissed and nibbled at your inner thighs, his tongue tracing the path to your core as you squirmed with anticipation. His hands ran up the sides of your thighs, gently caressing the skin before moving them to rest on his shoulders, giving him the perfect angle to dive in.
Your breath caught in your throat as his tongue parted you, tasting your sweetness. You could feel his breath hot against your pussy, sending shivers down your spine. Joe took his time, savoring your flavor, exploring every inch of you with a hunger that made your toes curl. Your grip on the sheets tightened as Joe's tongue swirled around your clit and flattened against your folds, the pressure building until you could hardly stand it.
He knew exactly how to drive you wild. With each flick of his tongue, you felt yourself inch closer to the precipice of ecstasy. "Joe," you breathed weakly, your voice trembling with desire. "I'm gonna come."
He chuckled against you, the vibration sending a fresh wave of pleasure through your core. "That's the plan, babe," he murmured, his voice muffled by the wetness of your pussy. He picked up the pace, his tongue dancing and flicking in a way that made your hips buck and your breath hitch. You threw your head back, short, strangled breaths leaving your mouth as your eyes squeezed shut, Joe's mouth worked you into a frenzy.
The room filled with the sound of your moans and the wet, sloppy noises of Joe's enthusiastic indulgence mixing in with your glistening arousal. He was relentless, his tongue probing and lapping until you were sure you couldn't take anymore. You felt your orgasm building, a coil of tension in your belly that grew tighter and tighter with each pass of his tongue.
"Oh god, Joe," you panted, your hips rising to meet his mouth. Your hands tangled in his hair, pulling him closer, grinding your pussy against his face. His hands gripped your thighs, holding you in place as he feasted on your sweetness. You could feel the pressure building, the heat coiling in your core, ready to explode.
And then it did. With a moan that echoed through the villa, your body convulsed as waves of pleasure washed over you. Your muscles tightened around Joe's tongue, your juices flooding his mouth as you came harder than you ever had before. Joe groaned in satisfaction, his own arousal reaching new heights as he drank you in. He didn't stop until you were trembling and panting, your body a puddle of boneless bliss beneath him.
Your eyes slowly opened, and you looked down at Joe, your face warm and your chest heaving. "Damn, baby," you breathed, a lazy smile playing on your lips. "I knew you were a munch but that was⌠wow."
Joe looked up at you with a grin, his face shiny with her arousal. "I was face first in my wife's pussy, couldn't help it," he said, his voice filled with a cocky confidence that made your heart race even faster. He kissed his way back up your body, leaving a trail of heat and wetness in his wake. When he reached your mouth, you tasted yourself on his lips, a heady mix of salt and sweet that only heightened your desire.
Your kiss grew more intense, your tongues dancing together in a rhythm that mirrored the pulsing need between your legs. Joe reached up, cupping your breasts in his hands, his thumbs playing with your still-sensitive nipples. You moaned into his mouth, your hips lifting to meet his.
"Face the mirror, gonna take you from the back," Joe murmured against your neck, his breath hot and ragged. You eagerly complied, turning to face the mirror and scooting closer to the edge of the bed. Your heart thundered in your chest as you watched Joe's reflection, his muscles rippling as he moved behind you.
He slid his hand down your spine, sending shivers through your body, and gripped your waist, pulling you closer to his body. You felt the tip of his cock at your entrance, and you couldn't help but whimper with anticipation. The position was rare for you two, usually reserved for moments when Joe was feeling particularly possessive. Your eyes locked onto his in the mirror, and you watched as he lined himself up, his hand guiding his shaft to your awaiting heat.
With one smooth, powerful thrust, he filled you, making you moan out with a mix of pleasure and surprise. The angle was new, and it hit you in just the right way, making your pussy clench around him. Joe groaned, his eyes rolling back in his head as he took in the sight of his cock disappearing into your wetness. Your body was a work of art, and he couldn't get enough of watching you react to his touch.
He began to move, his hips sliding in and out of you with a rhythm that grew more intense with each stroke. Your breasts bounced with the motion, your hands straining to grip the sheets as you watched Joe's reflection in the mirror. His eyes were hooded with desire, his teeth bared in a feral grimace as he claimed your body.
Your walls stretched around him, your body adjusting to the new sensation of being taken from behind. Your breaths grew shorter, your moans growing louder with each thrust. Joe's grip on your waist tightened, his strokes deep and demanding as he watched you in the mirror. The sight of your face contorted in pleasure, your dark hair splayed across the pillows, and your body writhing under his, only spurred him on.
"You like that?" he growled, his voice low and possessive. You could only nod, your mouth forming silent words as you struggled to keep up with the overwhelming sensations. Joe's hand reached around to find your clit, his thumb pressing down in a steady, insistent rhythm that matched his thrusts.
"Yes, Joey, I fucking love it," you gasped, your eyes watching him move in the mirror. Your voice was a mix of desperation and pleasure, the words barely recognizable through your moans. His thumb circled your clit, applying just the right amount of pressure to send sparks of sensation through your body.
"I'm so lucky to have you," Joe murmured, your eyes glazed with pleasure as Joe's cock filled you completely. His hand slid down to cup your ass, his fingers digging in as he pulled you back into each thrust. The angle was exquisite, hitting all the right spots, and you knew this was going to be one of those moments that would be forever etched into your mind.
"You're everything I've ever wanted," you managed to pant, your body jolting with each impact of his hips slamming into you. Your inner walls quivered around him, your pussy greedily sucking him in deeper.
"I promise I'll spend every day of the rest of our lives making you feel like this," Joe groaned, his words punctuated by his relentless pounding. You could feel the tension coiling tighter within you, the promise of another earth-shattering orgasm just out of reach.
Your eyes remained locked with his in the mirror, the connection between you two more intense than ever. Your breathing grew ragged, your moans echoing off the walls as Joe picked up his pace. Each thrust was deeper, harder, more demanding, and you could feel yourself climbing toward the peak.
Suddenly, Joe leaned forward, his chest pressing against your back as one arm wrapped around your waist, holding you tightly against him. The other arm fell forward, caging your body in as his hand settled over yours, fingers intertwined, rings nudging against each other. Your chest collapsed, your nipples tightening as you grazed the coolness of the mattress. He whispered sweet, dirty nothings into your ear, his breath hot and ragged, sending shivers down your spine.
"I want to see you come, baby," Joe panted, his thrusts growing more erratic. "Go ahead, baby. Let go for me."
You felt your orgasm building, the pressure in your core growing stronger with each word. Your eyes squeezed shut as you tried to hold back the inevitable. But Joe's touch was too much. He knew just what you needed, and as his thumb circled your clit faster and his cock pounded into you harder, you couldn't resist anymore.
Your body tightened around him, your muscles clenching as you came, your walls pulsing with pleasure. You whimpered his name weakly, your body bucking wildly under his. Joe's eyes watched as you lost control, feeling your pussy grip him as you spilled over the edge. His own orgasm followed close behind, his cum spurting into you with a force that made you both groan.
Your bodies remained connected for a moment, both panting heavily, the sound of your mingled breaths the only noise in the quiet room. You felt Joe's cock soften inside you, and you leaned back into his chest, your body still trembling from the intensity of your lovemaking.
"I don't know if I can move," you murmured, your voice shaky with the aftermath of pleasure. Joe chuckled, kissing your shoulder before gently withdrawing and rolling over to your side. He pulled you close, wrapping his arms around your waist as you both stared at your reflections in the mirror.
"I love you so much, you know that?" Joe murmured into your ear, his breath still coming in pants as he held you close. Your head rested on his chest, your breathing finally starting to even out. You nodded, a content smile playing on your lips.
"I would hope so, you married me last week. You better love me," you replied, your voice teasing but filled with affection as you cuddled closer to Joe, your hand resting on his chest. You could feel the steady thump of his heart, a reminder of the passion you just shared.
The two of you lay there for a few moments, the sweat cooling on your bodies as the tropical breeze gently caressed your skin. You turned your head, your eyes meeting Joe's in the mirror. His gaze was warm, a soft smile playing on his lips as he stroked your hair.
"I think that's only the second time we've had sex in this bed," Joe said, his voice a low rumble against your ear.
You chuckled, your eyes fluttering shut as you nestled into his warmth. "It's not my fault you can't keep it in your pants long enough to make it to the bed, Burrow," you teased, feeling the warmth of his skin against your cheek.
"What's the point of a villa on a quiet island if we're not going to use every surface?" Joe replied with a smirk, his fingers tracing lazy circles into the skin of your lower back. You laughed, the sound vibrating against his chest as you rolled over to face him fully. His cock twitched helplessly as he watched you, the sight of your sated smile and glowing skin making him want you all over again.
But he knew you needed a break. And so, you lay together, your bodies entwined in a mess of limbs and damp sheets. Your hand found its way to his chest, playing with the light dusting of hair that trailed down to his stomach. You traced the path with your fingertip, watching his abs contract with each breath he took.
"What do you think your love language is?" you asked, your voice lazy and content. You traced the contours of Joe's chest with your finger, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath your touch.
Joe smiled, his hand moving downward to squeeze your ass playfully. "I'd say my love language is definitely making you happy, especially when it involves me fucking you just the way you like it," he said, his voice filled with pride. You snorted, swatting his chest lightly. "Okay, in all seriousness, I think it's quality time. Nothing makes me happier than being close to you."
Your expression softened, your eyes shining with affection. "Mine's definitely words of affirmation," you murmured, your hand sliding up to caress his cheek. "I love it when you tell me how much you love me, how beautiful I am, how you chose me."
Joe leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. "I'll never run out of ways to tell you that," he promised, his thumb brushing your lower lip. "I guess I like that too. Hearing that I'm doing right by you. That you're happy. That I'm enough."
You felt a warmth spread through your chest at his vulnerable admission. "You are," you said, your voice firm. "More than enough. And I'll never get tired of telling you that." You leaned in to kiss him softly, the sweetness of the moment lingering between the two of you as your bodies settled.
"You wanna know something cool?" Joe hummed, pulling away from the kiss with a playful grin. You hummed in question, your eyes beginning to hood from the sleepiness that was slowly creeping in. "I'm your husband," he whispered, his voice filled with wonder and a hint of disbelief.
"I'm aware," you said with a roll of your eyes, though the smile on your face gave away the joy you felt at the reminder. "But you know what's even cooler than that?"
"What's cooler than being your husband?" Joe asked, his grin widening as he propped himself up on an elbow. His eyes searched yours, eager to hear your response.
"Cooler than that?" you teased, your voice playful. "I'm your wife. That's pretty cool."
Joe chuckled, his hand sliding up to squeeze your hand. "I guess it's a tie then," he conceded. Your smile grew as you watched the love dance in Joe's eyes, feeling it deep in your soul. You were married, and it was still so surreal. The last week had been a whirlwind of emotions, but this moment right here, with Joe's arms around you and the sound of your mingled breaths, was pure bliss.
The room was quiet except for the distant sound of waves crashing against the shore. Your eyes grew heavy, the exhaustion of the day catching up to you. You snuggled impossibly closer to Joe, your head resting on his chest, listening to the steady thump of his heart. He was your home, your sanctuary, and you never wanted to leave this tropical paradise.

Kyle closes the car door, cutting off the rest of the conversation. Youâre squeezed in the back of the car between him and Johnny. It is a tight squeeze between the two of them and their broad shoulders. Itâs not the most comfortable position, but the decision to leave one car behind has sealed your fate.Â
Simon is in the front passenger seat, looking about as happy to be there as you feel. His arm is leaned against the door, his gaze set out the front windshield. His scent is thick in the air, musky and leathery. Itâs a mixed cocktail of scents in the small enclosed space, but Simonâs is the loudest.Â
John opens the driverâs side door, climbing into the car. It felt cramped before, but now it feels almost claustrophobic.Â
âJust an hour drive and you can stretch your legs.â He says, and you know heâs talking to you.Â
âWhere are we going?â You ask as he drives down the long driveway.Â
âAmerica.â He says, giving you the same answer he gave you before.Â
âWhy?â You ask, knowing what the answer is going to be.Â
âWe have some things we need to take care of.â He answers simply.Â
âWhat things?â You pry, already guessing where this conversation is going to go.Â
âI already told you.â He replies. Simon glances at him, but says nothing.Â
âYou told me nothing.â You purse your lips.Â
âItâs a surprise.â He says, almost like heâs rehearsed this before.Â
âI hate surprises.â You say, leaning back in your seat, your scent souring a bit. âIf you bothered to pay attention youâd know that.â The last bit is hardly more than a murmur, but you know he heard you in the enclosed space.Â
It falls silent in the car, the five of you sitting there awkwardly after the exchange. Itâs been a long time since youâve been so bombarded by their scents all at once, and itâs been a long time since theyâve been so surrounded by your own scent. It reminds you of that time months ago after Simon returned from his solo assignment when youâd kissed in the car and nearly drove them all insane with an explosion of your scent.Â
Only this time, your scent has gone sour with your displeasure and agitation at the lack of information from John.
This time Simon is the first to cave, cracking the car window to let in some air and disperse the heavy scents.Â
Itâs going to be a long hour.Â

Traveling is your worst nightmare.Â
Or, at least, traveling like this.Â
Itâs only the five of you on the plane, some private jet that Kate had procured. Itâs a nice plane, but at the same time, being enclosed with your pack for nine hours isnât exactly ideal. You thought the cottage was bad at times, but at least there you could go outside and escape from them.Â
Now youâre really stuck with them.Â
Thankfully theyâve mostly left you alone for the duration of the flight, letting you sit in your seat with a book in silence. John and Simon have been in a corner conversing for the better part of the flight, glancing at you every so often. Johnny has slept through most of it, reclined in a seat not far from them. You wondered for a moment if he was faking it to listen in, but when the snores started you knew he really was out. Kyle is in a position not unlike your own, huddled in a seat with a book, minding his own business.Â
You really want to know what John and Simon are discussing, what has held their attention for so long. Itâs gotten heated a few times, Johnâs brows pulling into a frown, his lips moving rapidly. Simonâs shoulders keep squaring and relaxing, giving you insight into the rise and fall of emotions during the conversation. You can imagine his face mirroring Johnâs, his brows pinching in worry or frustration or perhaps even anger.Â
Whatever it is, itâs serious enough to last a good part of the flight.
Youâre ushered into a car almost as soon as the wheels touch the tarmac and the plane has stopped. Youâre stuck between Johnny and Kyle again, but at least the SUV is spacious enough to not have you crammed in like sardines. Your legs are stiff and sore after sitting for the better part of eight hours, but youâre not about to complain. Not with the way Johnâs hands are gripping the steering wheel.Â
If you didnât know better, you might have thought he was having second thoughts about whatever is happening.Â
You still donât know.Â
They still havenât told you.Â
The airstrip the jet landed in looked to be a private one as well, isolated in a grassy area with rolling hills of green and a few sparse trees missing their leaves. You almost fear it might be Texas again, given the warmth of the air for a time so late in the year, but you want to believe they wouldnât be that cruel to you. At least you hope thatâs the case.Â
The drive takes longer than the one in England, time seeming to stretch on endlessly as it did in the plane. Youâre tired after the flight, but curiosity is keeping you awake and aware. You almost wish you had your book, but itâs stuffed in the back with the small bag youâd been allowed to bring. The others had small bags as well, and you can only imagine what is inside them.Â
It makes your insides crawl with nerves.Â
The exhaustion becomes too much as the naked trees and rolling hills continue to pass by outside the car. Itâs quiet in the car, the tense silence not even enough to keep you awake as your head begins to droop onto Kyleâs shoulder.Â

Youâre jolted awake as the car comes to a stop.Â
The muffled sound of car doors closing outside reaches your ears as you peel your eyes open.Â
âCome on.â Kyle says softly, gently shifting you with his shoulder. âTime to get up.âÂ
You let out a quiet grunt, rubbing your eyes. The world outside is full of grey sky and naked tree limbs from the angle youâre at. John and Simonâs doors slam as they exit the car, the warmth on your other side disappearing as Johnny gets out as well. Gravel crunches outside as Kyle opens his door, easing you so youâre sitting upright.Â
The SUV is parked facing another one, and the world behind it opens into more green fields. Kyle slides out of the car, hitting gravel before offering you a hand. You blink the sleep from your eyes, taking the offered hand.Â
Thereâs three other SUVs parked in the gravel, people dressed in plain clothes moving around an old, rickety barn. John is standing halfway between the car and the barn, conversing with Kate. You blink in surprise. You havenât seen her since she dropped you off with your pack almost a year ago now.
Whatever theyâre discussing, it seems to be serious.Â
Kyle puts a hand on your back, leading you towards them.Â
âHi honey,â Kate greets you with a small smile, the seriousness melting on her face in almost a performative manner. âHow are you holding up?âÂ
âI donât know.â You say, wrapping your arms around yourself. âDepends on why Iâm here.âÂ
âYou didnât tell her?â Kate says in surprise, turning back towards John.Â
âI knew what sheâd say if I told her.â John says.Â
You purse your lips again, disliking being talked about as if youâre not standing right there.
Kate looks like she wants to say something, but she doesnât, instead she takes half a step back. âBetter get this over with, then.âÂ
John turns towards you, wrapping a hand around your wrist. âCome on.âÂ
You almost dig your heels in and demand he tell you, but you donât. You have a feeling youâre about to find out regardless as he leads you towards the barn. Simon and Johnny are waiting by the doors, Kyle following close behind you. Nerves are starting to flutter in your stomach, your insides twisting in fear. What the hell is on the other side of those doors and why does everyone seem so serious about it?Â
Johnnyâs face is hard set, Simonâs eyes blank as John pauses in front of the door for a moment.Â
Theyâre not themselves.Â
Youâre looking at Task Force 141.Â
Simon slides the barn door open, your stomach clenching painfully. Itâs dark in the barn, but not dark enough you canât see. Grey light seeps in through holes in the roof and sides, giving the barn an eerie look, like youâre about to step into a horror movie.Â
Johnâs hand tightens around your wrist, tugging you forward into the musty air inside the barn. You want to dig your heels in now, fight him and scream not to drag you inside. Your hand is shaking, curling in on itself until your nails dig into your palm.Â
âHi darlinâ. Didnât know youâd be joining us too.âÂ
You feel like youâve been punched in the gut, the breath leaving your lungs.Â
âPhil.â You breathe, nearly choking around his name.Â
Heâs seated in the middle of the barn, restrained in a chair. He looks far too comfortable and casual sitting there, greeting you like he would an old friend.Â
Thereâs a table beside him filled with all sorts of instruments. Knives, scalpels, an ice pick.Â
Your stomach twists as you realize whatâs about to happen.Â
The other four approach Phil, leaving a gap so you can see him as you linger behind. You have half a mind to turn and run out the now closed door, but something keeps your feet frozen to the ground.Â
âYouâre wasting your time.â Phil says, addressing the four members of your pack now. âI donât know where Shepherd is.âÂ
âThatâs not why weâre here.â John says, his voice deeper and rougher than it had been just outside. âYou tortured a member of our pack.â
âOur omega.â Johnny says through gritted teeth.Â
âOh I see, a little revenge then.â Phil says, a smirk lifting on his lips as he stares at you. âAnd you brought a little audience.âÂ
***Content Warning: Torture ***
You jump as Simon takes a step forward, rearing back before punching Phil across the face. His head snaps to the side from the force of it, a grunt leaving his lips. Simon grips his chin, yanking his head back to the other side so Phil is looking up at him.Â
âWeâre going to do the same to you that you did to her.â He growls out.Â
The words have a shiver tickling down your spine.Â
Simon releases Phil before drawing his fist back to throw another punch. Nausea churns in your stomach as something cracks, the sound echoing in the silence.Â
âSolid hit, big man.â Phil grins, spitting onto the floor before sitting up straight again. âYouâre going to have to hit me harder than that.â His eyes flicker to you as you stand there in shock. âYou can ask your omega how hard I hit her.âÂ
Johnny surges forward, wrapping his hand around Philâs throat. âGive me a knife. Iâll cut his tongue out.âÂ
Phil lets out a choked sound, your own throat constricting a bit from the memory of Philâs hand choking you. Tears fill your eyes as Philâs face begins to go purple from the lack of oxygen.Â
âEasy.â John says, easing Johnny off of Phil. âWeâre not done yet.âÂ
Phil lets out a choking cough, his hands straining where theyâre tied to the arms of the chair. âNot bad.â He coughs out, his face still red. âGonna have to try harder than that.âÂ
John punches him in the face, sending his head snapping the other direction. Blood trickles from his lip, his tongue darting out to lick the wound.Â
âOf course the alpha would spill the first drop of blood.â Phil says, letting out a chuckle, his gaze returning to you. âThis is going to take a while, sweetheart. Why donât you go back outside and wait for your boys to be done, hm?âÂ
âNo.â John says, his hand closing into a fist again. âSheâs going to watch every last bit of this.âÂ
Your stomach churns as he throws another punch at Phil, this one landing with another sickening crack. You donât really want to watch this, but at the same time, thereâs a sick sense of satisfaction filling you as your pack takes revenge on your behalf. Your omega is nearly purring, watching in glee as they drive punch after punch into Philâs face.Â
âYouâre going to have to try harder than that.â Phil chokes out around Simonâs hand where itâs wrapped around his throat.Â
âWeâre just getting started.â Kyle says, grabbing a knife from the table.Â
Phil lets out a pained yell as Kyle stabs the knife into his bicep, slowly dragging it down his arm. Itâs deeper than Phil had cut you, blood pouring out of the open wound. Your stomach twists, nausea bubbling up into your throat. How easy this all seems for them.Â
How easily Phil had tortured you.Â
Your fingers trace the thin, pink line down your own arm, your skin burning with a reminder of what happened to you.Â
The realization of whatâs happening settles in as Kyle drives the knife into Philâs chest, dragging it downward in another deep cut. You do want to turn around and go outside. You donât want to watch this anymore.Â
The soft call of your name has you coming back to yourself. Your pack has turned to face you now. You hadnât even realized that you had turned your head away. Tears have trailed down your cheeks, your breath hitching.Â
Itâs John thatâs called your name, his hand outstretched. Heâs holding the ice pick. Your shoulder throbs at the sight of it. The memory of one almost exactly like it being stabbed into your scent gland has a whimper leaving your lips. You know what heâs asking, what heâs offering. Phil inflicted the worst pain youâve ever felt onto you. Now youâre being offered the chance to do the same to him.Â
Your omega is screaming, yelling at you to take it, to return what he did back to him. Itâs his fault this happened. Weeks of pain and agony that you will always remember. He did that to you.Â
Youâre moving before you even realize it, your fingers wrapping around the cold metal. Your omega is taking over again, driving that instinctual violence forward again. Simon is standing behind Phil, holding his head to the side. He looks like shit, his face already bruising and covered in blood. The metallic scent of it is strong, your mind flickering back to those soldiers, his soldiers, the ones you killed with that knife. You wonder what happened to it, if itâs still laying out in the forest, the last lingering remnant of the violence that happened there.Â
You stare down at Phil, at his exposed neck. Heâs jerking against Simonâs hold, as if he knows and understands whatâs about to happen, as if he can already sense the pain thatâs about to be brought on him. Does he? Does he really understand?Â
Heâs about to.Â
Your hand moves before you can stop it, driving the ice pick as hard as you can into his scent gland. He lets out a yowl of pain as the metal slides under his skin and into that sensitive spot. You remember it, the lightning-like pain rushing through your body, every nerve-ending on fire, every movement agony for days and days and days.Â
âHurts, doesnât it?â You say, pushing the ice pick as far as you possibly can into his body. âItâs the worst pain Iâve ever felt. Worse than all those years I sat in that institute thinking about my family, the family you helped tear me away from.â You take a step back, leaving the ice pick in his shoulder. âYouâll never forget it, that kind of pain.âÂ
Simon wraps his hand around the ice pick, pulling it free. Blood seeps out of the hole, pouring down Philâs chest. He jerks in his restraints, his eyes squeezed shut.Â
âYou deserve to feel that kind of pain.â You say, taking another step back.Â
âLook at you.â Phil laughs, tilting his head up with a wince. His eyes are on you, focused solely on you as you stand there. âTough little thing. Turning more and more like your father, arenât you?â His words bite at the back of your brain, your omega screaming at the insult. His eyes leave you, instead roaming over the three members of your pack standing in front of him. âNo matter how hard you tried, you couldnât hide her away from this world, could you?âÂ
Heâs not talking to you anymore.Â
âYouâd always leave a stain on her. Eventually it would come around. Sheâd get caught up in a life like this, a life of violence and bloodshed. Proud of yourselves?â He lets out a chuckle. âYou ruined such sweet innocence.âÂ
âShut yer fuckinâ mouth.â Johnny growls as Simon moves back around so heâs standing next to you.Â
âOoh, hit a nerve did I?â Phil laughs, turning his gaze to you. âYou know your dad never checked you made it to the institute? As soon as you were out of his sight he could finally stop caring about you.â Phil licks his lips. âI should have just taken you right then. No one would have known the difference. None of this would have happened. Youâd still be just a sweet little innocent girl, just like you always should have been.âÂ
Anger and rage burns through you at his words. Years of repressed fears and emotions surging out all at once. Later youâll wish you could blame it on your omega, that she took over in this moment, but thatâs not the case. Itâs you in your true form, in your own rage at Phil for his words, for his actions, for the ways heâs ruined your life even still years later.Â
Time slows as your fingers wrap around the knife strapped to Simonâs side. It slides out of its sheath easily, your body moving forward as you grip it tightly in your hand. It wonât be the first time, your brain flashing back to all of those men, men who would have done worse things to you had your omega not acted on instinct. Sheâs screaming at you now, still, clawing at the poorly constructed cage youâve forced her back in, calling for violence.Â
Youâll give it to her.Â
The knife cuts through his skin easily, sliding downward as you stab it into his neck. Blood spurts out, coating your hands in the slippery liquid. Adrenaline courses through your body, your vision going red as you yank the knife from his throat, blood spraying out of his artery from where youâve severed it. Itâs like some gruesome renaissance painting as youâre pulled back, an arm around your waist tugging you backward away from the quickly fading body in the chair, your mouth still open in an enraged scream.Â
The knife drops from your hand as youâre tugged backwards, your body falling against a solid one. Your legs feel like jelly as the adrenaline pumps through your system, your blood covered hands shaking as you stare at the lifeless body of a man you once thought of as a family friend. A man who played such an integral part in your life behind the scenes. A man who was almost your alpha, a man who would have been your alpha had it not been for the woman standing outside.Â
The man who tortured you and brought you more pain than youâve ever felt in your entire life.Â
Heâs dead now. He canât ever hurt you again.Â

Nausea churns in your stomach as you sit there, staring down at your blood-soaked hands. Itâs deep red and sticking to your skin, no matter how much Kyle tries to wipe at it with a t-shirt. Your body has gone numb as reality has settled in.Â
You just killed a man.Â
âEasy.â Kyle says, his hand warm against your chilled skin as he wraps his fingers around your arm.Â
Youâd jerked away from him, nearly slipping off the edge of the trunk. The trunk of the SUV is open and youâre seated on the edge of it, toes pushing into the gravel below to hold yourself up. Kyle had been trying to wipe the dried blood off of your hands, but no matter how hard he scrubbed, some of it wouldnât come off.Â
âHere.â Footsteps approach in the gravel, the rocks crunching under boots. âGo help Simon.âÂ
Rougher hands replace Kyleâs, wrapping around your wrists. You jump when the cold water hits your hands, shocking you out of your dazed state. You lift your gaze up to Johnâs face as he wipes the blood from your hands, the shirt quickly becoming stained with red streaks.Â
âThis wasnât our intention. I just want you to know that.â He says, his gaze focused on your hands. âWe didnât bring you here to kill him. I just thought you might want to know what was going to happen to him. Closure. Maybe you could rest easier knowing he wasnât ever going to see freedom again.âÂ
âHe wonât see anything ever again.â You murmur.Â
âIt doesnât make you a bad person. Heat of the moment. He was saying some vile things to you.â John tries to comfort you.Â
âBut that doesnât mean I had to kill him.âÂ
âMaybe not. He wouldnât have lived much longer regardless.â Your hands are starting to feel raw with how hard John is scrubbing them. Itâs almost like heâs trying to wipe the fact youâre a murderer from your hands. âNone of us will think any less of you for what you did.âÂ
You stare down at your hands as John finally relents his scrubbing. The blood is gone, but youâll always remember the look of it staining your skin. âIâm sorry.âÂ
John squats down in front of you, his hands closing around yours. Theyâre so warm compared to your own chilled skin. âYou have nothing to be sorry for.âÂ
âBut I do. Phil was right. Iâm not innocent anymore. Iâm not a good omega. I lost that when I let her take over.â Tears slip down your cheeks, warm against your skin.Â
âThat doesnât make you a bad omega.â John says, reaching up to wipe the tears from your cheeks. âYouâve done what you had to do to survive because of our failures. We failed to protect you like we promised and we forced you into situations you shouldnât have ever been in. We will never be able to apologize enough for what we did.âÂ
âIâm scared, John.â You whisper. âI donât want to be like this anymore.âÂ
His brows furrow. âBe like what?âÂ
âI still feel like sheâs in control.â You say, more tears sliding down your cheeks. âI donât think Iâve come back to myself at all.âÂ

Tears still sting your eyes as you sit in the back of the car, watching the flames through the rearview mirror.Â
âUnfortunate that the old barn burned down.â Kate says, her voice slightly muffled through the closed car door.Â
âFeel sorry for the poor soul stuck inside.â John says.Â
âToo bad theyâll never be identified.âÂ
Their words nearly make you sick again. How easily they talk about it, how easily they can detach themselves. It is their job, you suppose. This is just a normal occurrence to them. It scares you, how easily they confront death and dismiss it. Itâs cold and unwelcoming, just like their attitudes had been upon your arrival. You should have known just by that. You should have turned and left when you wanted to.Â
Maybe then youâd have less blood on your hands.Â
Phil did deserve it, after everything. At least this way you know he wonât try to find you again, wonât try and get revenge of his own against your pack. One less loose string to worry about, John had said.Â
Thereâs just one more that needs to be tied off.Â
âAny sign of Shepherd?â John asks.Â
âNone yet.â Kate answers. âAlex and Farah are investigating a couple of leads. Youâll be the first to know if they find anything.âÂ
âGood. The sooner we can find him, the better.âÂ
âHe canât hide forever.â Kate says. âWeâll find him eventually.â She glances towards the car. âYouâll be alright?âÂ
John is quiet for a moment. âEventually.âÂ
âYou need anything...âÂ
âWeâll be sure to let you know.âÂ
Cold air rushes in with the smell of smoke as Kyle opens the car door. He slides in, quickly closing it.Â
âWeâre almost ready to go.â He says, shifting so he can put your seatbelt on for you. Youâre glad heâs doing it. Youâre not sure you could have managed it anyway. âAnother long flight back to England.âÂ
You feel like youâve spent more time on a plane in the last few hours than you have in your lifetime. Youâre not even sure what day it is, or what day it will be when you get back. A week could have passed and youâd never even notice.Â
âWeâll stop and get food before we go.â Kyle continues. You know heâs trying to talk to keep you distracted. âAnything you want in particular?âÂ
Food is the last thing you want right now.Â
âSomething we can eat on the road I suppose. Donât want to linger too long anywhere.â Kyle trails off as the doors open, Johnny and Simon climbing in. Itâs a tighter squeeze this time thanks to Johnâs coat that he put on you to keep you warm. You donât really need it in the car, but his scent is the only thing keeping you sane right now.Â
âYe doinâ alright?â Johnny asks as he puts on his own seatbelt.Â
You hum in response, not trusting yourself to answer. You donât trust yourself to say much of anything right now.Â
The smell of smoke hits your nose again as John opens the driverâs side door, climbing into the car. âLetâs get out of here.â He says, putting on his seatbelt before the car rumbles to life.Â
You lean back in the seat, staring at the smoldering ashes in the rearview mirror until they disappear around a bend as John drives away from the scene. Warm fingers brush the back of your hand, Kyleâs gaze down on your lap as he slowly curls his fingers around your hand. You stare at his hand for a moment before you look away, curling your fingers around his.Â

You donât remember much of the flight back. You slept through a good part of it, reclined in a seat just like Johnny had been on the flight to America. You barely remember the drive back to the cottage, spending most of it in a sleepy daze with your head propped on Kyleâs shoulder.Â
Dr. Keller is there to greet you when you return, some delicious smell wafting from the open door of the cottage. It makes your stomach churn after hours of no food. You havenât had much of an appetite, the memories of what had happened too fresh to allow you much else but the blissful ignorance of sleep.Â
You drag your feet up the steps of the cottage, passing Dr. Keller in a haze as you head straight for the comfortable familiarity of your bed. You can hear quiet voices through the wall as you manage to work your heavy limbs out of your clothes and into something more comfortable.Â
You just want to sleep more, sleep forever if it were possible. In sleep you donât see the blood staining your hands, the spurt of blood from Philâs neck where youâd stabbed him. You donât see the light fading from his eyes, his body falling limp as he dies by your hand. In sleep youâre not a murderer, you can go back to when things were easier, when nothing mattered but being a good omega for your pack. Back when your only stress was making a good impression and doing your job like youâre supposed to.Â
What a shitty omega youâve become. You canât even hold your pack together anymore.Â
Itâs not like theyâre putting in much effort themselves, though.Â
Maybe you should let things fall apart. Maybe it would be easier on everyone if you just moved past this, moved on to an unhappy, short life in a care facility while your pack got to live out the rest of their days with nothing but a painful memory of the short stint they got as a full pack.Â
Phil was right. Youâre not a sweet innocent little girl anymore. That person died as soon as you were forced into this pack. Maybe this was inevitable. By being forced with them you would always become like them. Good omegas learn to adapt to mesh well with their pack, giving up personality and wants in favor of making alphas happy. Maybe this is what they want, maybe this was the way things were always going to end up. You were doomed from the start to become just like them.Â
You press your face into your pillow as tears slide down your cheeks, willing yourself to fall into the sweet embrace of sleep once again.Â

âJohn told me what happened.â Dr. Keller says as you sit outside in the cold morning air. âI just want you to know that it doesnât make me think any less of you.âÂ
You wish she would. You wish sheâd yell and reprimand you for killing someone. You wish any of them would call you a bad person, a wicked soul capable of taking the life of someone else.Â
Theyâre all acting like itâs normal, like it was nothing.Â
You hate it.Â
âYouâre not a bad person.â She says.Â
âI killed someone.â You retort.Â
âDid you?âÂ
Her words make you pause. You did. You remember the blood staining your hands, the warm spray of it from Philâs neck. It was your hand that drove the knife.Â
âI want you to walk me through what happened. Step by step.â She says.Â
You let out a sigh. Itâs not the first time youâve been over it in the last day. âThey were torturing him, but he wouldnât stop talking. He said that he wished he had just taken me instead of sending me to the institute, and how that way Iâd still be an innocent little girl.â Your voice starts to shake. âI got really mad. I barely remember grabbing the knife.âÂ
âRight there.â Dr. Keller interrupts you. âWalk me through that second by second. What were you feeling beyond just anger?âÂ
You pause for a moment, thinking it over. What were you feeling? âBlinding rage.â You say. âI was so angry because he helped ruin my life just because he wanted me.â You swallow the lump in your throat. âJust the idea of being his...â Nausea churns in your stomach. âItâs like my brain went numb. It acted on instinct. I didnât even know Simon had a knife until I was grabbing it.âÂ
âWhat was your omega feeling in those moments?âÂ
You pause to think again. You hadnât taken into consideration your omega during your ruminations, when youâd told Dr. Keller your side of the events the last few times. âShe was...angry too. But, at first, she liked it. She liked Phil being tortured. She wanted me to stab him with the ice pick.â You swallow thickly. âWhy did I do that? Why didnât I say no?âÂ
âRevenge is a fascinating part of human thought processes.â Dr. Keller says. âIn the moment, it fires up those reward centers of the brain. It feels good, feels satisfying. The desire to act on those impulsive needs to dole out justice against someone that wronged you is natural. While itâs not the best idea, itâs just human nature to want to get revenge. In the heat of the moment, logic is the last thing on your mind. Throw in an uncontrolled omega and you may find yourself doing things you donât want to do, and you donât know why.âÂ
âSo it was her fault.â You say, wiping your nose.Â
âNot exactly. Instincts are complicated things to consider. Instincts donât care about your feelings or what society considers acceptable. Theyâre natural, ingrained behaviors in response to certain stimuli and events. A bear chases you, you run. An alpha threatens you, your omega fights back. While yes, what you did may be morally questionable, in the moment, your omega didnât care about morals or societal expectations. You felt threatened and uncomfortable and your omega acted on your behalf.âÂ
âItâs because sheâs out of control.â You say.Â
âYes. You let her out of that specially crafted cage you learned to keep her in, and now sheâs going to fight tooth and nail to stay out. Youâre in a very delicate state and itâs not surprising your omega decided to act for you.âÂ
âSheâs so violent.â You say quietly.Â
âOmegas and alphas only show themselves for a handful of reasons. Usually those involve danger or extreme emotions. Omegas especially show themselves when violence is needed. We are all fighters at our core, even omegas. You yourself may not be a violent person, but your omega is unsettled. Sheâs on high alert and any perceived threat could set her off, or any moments of high emotions, such as witnessing what you did.âÂ
You look down at your hands, imagining them covered with blood again. âI wanted to leave. I should have.âÂ
âWe canât change what weâve done in the past. Your omega was likely largely responsible for what happened in those moments. While that doesnât absolve you of guilt entirely, that also means you werenât fully in control of yourself when it happened.â She reaches out, putting a hand on yours. âI believe you when you say you didnât want to do it. I donât think youâre capable of it in your right mind. Youâve been through a lot over the last few weeks. I thought it was a bad idea to take you, but you know John.âÂ
âHe thinks he knows what's best because itâs what he thinks is best.â You murmur.Â
âYou can confront him about that.â Dr. Keller says, leaning back in her chair.Â
You snort. âThat will go well.âÂ
âIt might. Your pack has expressed their willingness to change, to adapt to what you want. You have the power to change your pack. If you donât like the way theyâre doing something, then tell them.â She gives you a pointed look. âThey wonât know what to change if you donât tell them what you want to change.âÂ
âIâm scared to ask them.â You admit.Â
âWhy? Why are you scared to ask them?âÂ
âGood omegas adapt to their pack, they donât ask. They donât ask their pack to change just for them.âÂ
She gives you another look. âDonât go regressing that far on me.â She shifts in her seat, leaning closer to you. âWeâve talked about this before. Youâre a part of this pack too, just as much as they are. You have a right to communicate your needs and your wants just as much as they do. Youâre an equal in this pack, and theyâll be the first to agree with that. While their actions of late have been questionable, they do still care about you and want to make you a true equal in this pack.âÂ
âIâll believe it when I see it.â You huff.Â
âThen let them show you.â She says. âWhatâs the harm in asking?âÂ
âThey say no.â You say. âI donât think I could handle it if they said no.âÂ
âBut what if they say yes?â Dr. Keller squeezes your arm. âYouâll never know until you ask. In my professional opinion, I think you hold more power now than you realize. A lot of things happened to you, but a lot of things happened to your pack as well, and within those bonds.â
âYeah. Theyâre all fractured now.â You say.Â
âTheyâre in rough shape, but theyâre not unfixable. You have to want to fix them. Youâre the only one that can fix them.âÂ
âI donât like that power.â You say. âPart of me wants to end things.âÂ
âBut, that means thereâs a part of you that wants to repair them. As your doctor, I suggest listening to those thoughts more than the ones telling you not to. It wonât be easy, but I think itâs worth your time to try.âÂ
Tears fill your eyes as you sit there, thinking over her words. You do want to try. You want to try so badly, yet you canât help that nagging in the back of your mind that everything will go back to the way it was before.Â
âWhat do you need?â Dr. Keller asks softly, brushing some of the hair from your face as you cry.Â
What is it you need? A new brain, a reset button, some amnesia? All things you canât have. Youâll have to choose with what you do have. What do you have? A pack that desperately wants to help you. Theyâve told you that themselves. Kyle told you things would get better, but here you are with more blood staining your hands. Kyle wouldnât lie to you. Not like that.Â
You have the power now.Â
âJohnny.â You sniffle. âGet me Johnny.âÂ

remember that
Absence makes the heart grow fonder. But everyone need assurance that they are still loved sometimes. The first time Lando almost slept on a couch blurb
warning: couple fight, angst

It was bad. This time, it was really fucking bad.
After weeks of snarky comments being swallowed in, the "it's fine" line being burned into Lando's ears almost on a daily basis and growing minutes Y/N had to wait before Lando decided to respond to her texts, shit finally hit the fan.
They hadn't seen each other for two weeks now. Inevitable fight broke out right as he crossed the threshold. Postponed dates and forgotten dinners lined up. They couldn't help themselves and put it all on the table. First it was the fact she didn't smile upon seeing him, then it was a reminder that he promised to bring something from Italy and forgot. It went on and on and on. She sat at the dinning table, while he leaned over at the kitchen counter.
"Lando, sometimes it feels like I'm in a relationship with your assistant and not you! For heaven sake, this week I had to call him, once again, when I could not reach you. Do you know how embarrassing it is?" she half-screamed into her hands.
Lando took a breath so deep an average yoga teacher would be jealous. "How am I suppose to be expected to pick up on a race day. You know that I get super busy and distracted."
"Funny how you never were when we started dating," she murmured bitterly.
He had to turn away, couldn't watch his love giving up on him just because they were not in the honeymoon stage anymore. "Yes, but now I'm winning races! Closer to my dream that I've ever been. It's different now."
"I'm glad I met you back then, because obviously you'd not date me if we met now," she couldn't stop those words that rotted in her coming out.
A beat. Maybe it was time to actually break the rule for once and go to sleep angry, because it was getting out of hand. "You know what, that's probably true and it breaks my heart that once I start doing well, you're suddenly not the supporting girlfriend anymore."
A crushing blow. "Tell me how am I suppose to support you if you don't even answer my phone! We used to talk for hours!
"Maybe understand that I can't!"
"I do! But you can't assume that I'll let you push me away completely!"
Lando thew his hands up in desperation. How could she not see it? "I'm coming here to you whenever I have a slightest chance! And I come what? You constantly dragging me through the mud."
"Oh interesting you mention that. How sad that your assistant had to remind you of my sensitive skin before you having him book me an "apology mud massage" when you cancelled on me few weeks ago," se shot, knowing it would hit the target.
"How do you even know that!" he said, unable to comprehend that he did not even control his paid assistant, not mention his own life anyway.
"Well, I talk a lot to you assistant! And he slips up!" It was a weird friendship between people who both wished they could get a little more info out of Lando.
"That's it. I can't deal with this now," he said, with the intention to sleep on the couch for the first time in their relationship. He didn't even know why he chose that action, walking towards their bedroom and dramatically bringing a pillow and a blanket over to the sofa, but if this is what couples did when the fought, there must have been a reason for it.
It absolutely infuriated her. Sparked up something she hoped she'd never feel. "Oh, sleep tight." she spitted with bitter undertone.
"I will!"
//
They walked around each other in silence, him getting ready to sleep on the couch and her cutting her skincare short this time and spending more time debating whether to close the bedroom door as they usually would or leave it open. Just in case.
He could hear her shifting back and forth. It angered him a little bit, since he was the one playing a cruel joke on his already tired muscles.
Thousand things she wanted to say and only one came to her mind in a form of an actual sentence. There goes nothing. "Do you still feel good about this?"
"What?" he whispered, not expecting her to speak to him again before the next day.
"Nevermind, forget I asked."
"About what!" He hated when she did this. If you didn't catch up at the first moment, she did not give you a second chance.
"Do you still feel good about us, being together?" She cursed herself for asking this. Dangerous questions brought up explosive answers. She wished for a reassurance and a rejection. She snuggled deeper into her blanket and turned around to face the door. As if wishing for him to stand there and coming back to her.
Lando hated her question. In fact, it made him furious again. But it was a peace offering, he had already learned that before. "Even here, lying on the bloody couch, because we're fighting...It's the place I wanna be at."
Anxiety kicked in Y/N. "What, you mean like away from me?"
He laughed lightly. She was always thinking the worst. "No, silly. The exact opposite...We could both be at thousand different places at the moment. But we're not. And for me at least, it's because like---I want to be with you. I hate that we'd drifted apart lately. I'd love to be in bed with you, laughing without a care in the world, like we usually do. But, we can't do that now. And yet, I'd rather be left on the couch if I know you're next door than all alone in my bed." His words hit like small drops of rain after a long draught.
She whispered, choosing her words carefully. "You're my twin flame. You make my soul light up in fire, make me feel like I'm the sun. Do you know what my biggest fear is?"
Lando also tuned into sweeter tone, one that was more familiar from days filled with sunshine. "What, my love?"
"That we're gonna burn out. You and me, ending up like an epic love story. The good ones work because they end in tragedy."
"You're always so poetic," he smiled, proud to think he was her love story.
"There is no other way to describe how you'd changed my life. Flipped it upside down the moment you walked into the same room."
Lando chucked. "Yeah, remember that?"
"How could I not."
"You were not having a good day."
Finally, she spoke loudly again. "So, what? Everything was going to shit and the event we were doing had to be perfect before the 'important people' arrived".
"Such an ego boost to know I was your priority before you even met me," he uttered, happy to push her buttons.
"Oh, and you were so cocky! Just laughing around, like we were some sort of comedy sketch."
"Well, I'm sorry, have you heard yourself when you're upset? The way how your voice goes up seven octaves higher?" he laughed, his breath feeling lighter now.
"Coming from you, that's rich! You were giggling in a tone so high the elderly couldn't hear you!"
"I'm so happy I managed to bag the grumpiest person in the building. And bare in mind there must have been around 500 people there."
"980 if you could in staff as well."
He let out a heavy sigh. "You with your pristine memory."
She paused before responding. "Yes. Wish I didn't have that sometimes."
"Wish I had at least a pinch of that."
Silence fell in both rooms. Heavy breath and wondering eyes. The lack of their touch suddenly being more obvious than before. Playing a contest who will reach out first.
"Lando?"
"Yes, my love?"
"Can you back here, please?" she said, somewhat nervously. Lando took a pause. There was nothing he wished for more. It hurt to fight. But he figured a relationship needed that sometimes. As the poets say, you loose a woman when you forget to cherish her. He liked to think this went both ways. And they both started slacking a bit. He could only affect his own behavior, with the hope that she'd also come to the same understanding.
"I'd like nothing more in the world, my love."

Lovesick & Lovelorn

Pairing: Luke Castellan x Reader
Summary:Â You thought that Luke Castellan, your best friend, did not reciprocate your feelings for him. To cope, you wrote letters addressed to him and kept them in a box. What happens when one of your sisters finds it? Inspired by 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before'Â (fluff, best friends to lovers; you thought it was unreciprocated feelings, happy ending).
Note: Ahh, I'm so happy the show got renewed for season 2.
Word count: 3.3k
You were deeply convinced your fate was tied to one with eternal lovelorn.Â
Three years ago, you arrived at Camp Half-Blood and settled into the Hermes cabin before you were claimed by your Godly parent. It was there that you met Luke Castellan - one of your soon-to-be best friends. Though, you knew you were doomed from your first glance into his eyes. Then came his friendly smile and an offer of a handshake, where his hand engulfed yours.
At first, you thought that silly little crush would dissipate. But over time, as you became close friends with the Hermes cabin counselor, you were almost convinced he was faultless. You seemed to adore every little thing about him. Along with the fondness that grew in your heart was also self-pity. At one point, even looking at him hurt because you knew he did not return your feelings.
Hence, the letters.
In between your memories of Luke were letters you wrote throughout those years just to cope with the unreciprocated feeling. It was painful, but what else could you do? You truly believed confessing would put your friendship at risk. Neither did you feel like dealing with the heartache of a rejection. So you never uttered any of your feelings to him, continuing to imprint it on lined papers instead.
You scowled as the pen you were using ran out of ink, leaving the latest edition of unspoken words unfinished. Wordlessly, you fold the incomplete letter into an envelope and shove it into the turquoise box you bought while returning from a quest once. You neatly put the box under your bed.
âY/N, itâs time to head out,â one of your sisters repeated. Two minutes ago, people were starting to leave, so those on cleaning duties could clean up your cabin. Since you were mid-writing, you hastily asked for a few more seconds. Now, you were the only one left besides two of your sisters.
âYes, sorry,â you quickly muttered, exiting the cabin and almost immediately bumped into Luke. âHey, what are you doing here?â you asked.
âIâm here for you. I thought we should hang out,â Luke answered ever so casually. Yet, your heart swelled at the thought that he was there for you. Before you could reply, you two were interrupted by another camper, who told you that one of your other best friends needed you and that it was an emergency.
âIâm so sorry, weâre gonna have to take a rain check on that hangout,â you informed Luke. You slowly started walking backward and away from him. âIâll see you later, though?â
âYeah, donât worry about it. Come find me whenever youâre done, yeah?â Luke requested, hoping to spend time with you later. His soft look made you pause mid-step, almost as if your foot had been cemented to the stones beneath. You nodded absentmindedly before snapping out of that state to comfort your friend.
After two hours of listening to your friend and comforting them, you finally left their cabin to search for Luke, who previously told you to find him after. However, around half an hour later, you slowly gave up at the thought of doing so, feeling almost defeated.
As you turned to head back to your cabin, you spotted the Hermes counselor exiting his. You called out his name, watching his back stiffen before he turned to you. You ignored the odd behavior and recalled, âIâm free now if youâre down to hang out.â
âIâm so sorry, but Iâm really busy right now.â
âUhm, well, I guess Iâll just meet you at our spot whenever youâre done then?â you suggested. You and Luke fell into a routine of star-gazing every night.
Laying under the dark sky that painted your whole horizon often made you feel small. But something about that was so calming, especially considering most of the time, you were suffocated by the weight and duties of being a Demigod. You wondered if it was the moment or if it was Lukeâ presence that aided your momentary peace.
âI really, really canât tonight, I have a lot of things to do.â
âOh⌠thatâs okay. Iâll see you around?â you replied, watching as Luke fidgeted and gulped while attempting to look normal. It was futile, really, because being best friends meant you could sense when the slightest thing was even off. He nodded, and you retreated to your cabin with thoughts swirling in your head.
Then came the next few torturous and confusing days. For the last two years, Luke would always approach you - almost daily, and vice versa. Being best friends with Luke has been wonderful. Every day together felt like a blessing.
Now, it seemed almost like he was avoiding you. He would find a new excuse whenever you approached. He wouldnât even look in your direction. Yesterday, you made eye contact with him, and he turned away abruptly, facing his back towards you.
You had enough after day three. You went to your cabin after dinner and reached under your bed with one hand. You did not want to, but this would perhaps be your first-ever letter of anguish about Luke Castellan.
The boxâŚwhere is the box?
You peered under your bed, mouth hanging open when your eyes could not spot it either. You looked up and around, hoping maybe you had misplaced it somewhere, even though part of you knew you had put it under your bed. You have always done so.
âHey, have you seen a turquoise box?â you asked your sister as she walked by.
âOh, the rectangle one, about this big?â your sister reconfirmed, using her hand to show you the size she indicated.
âYes, that one.â
âOh, I gave it to Luke.â
âWhat?â
âYeah, I was cleaning the cabin three days ago, accidentally knocked it over and saw letters addressed to him. He was right by the door, so I thought maybe I should just deliver them to him.â
Blood drained from your face, and your heart plummeted. Anything else your sister seemed to be talking about started sounding like murmurs, and you could not focus on a word she was saying. Your worst nightmare seemed to have arrived. Somehow, your friendship with him had ended without you knowing. No wonder he has been avoiding you these past few days. He has read them all.
âI need to go,â you quickly muttered, storming out of your cabin. You could feel your body slightly shaking from the panic. No amount of Demigod training had prepared you for moments like these. Then you saw Luke walking over youâŚwith the box in his hands. You took a deep breath and practically forced your voice box to work.
âListen, Lukeââ
âI didnât think youâd buy birthday gifts that early, Y/N,â he interrupted.
âWhat?â you questioned and observed the sweet smile gracing his Adonis-like face.
âThis?â he gestured to the box. âYour sister gave it to me and said it was from you. Though I thought I should give it back âcause itâs not my birthday yet, you might have wanted to give it to me yourself.â
âOhâŚâ it was the only thing you could utter as it dawned on you what he had perceived the situation as. âWait, so you havenât opened it?â you clarified.
âNope.â
â...So weâre ok?â
âYeah, why wouldnât we be?â your mouth hung slightly agape at his words. As you scrunch your eyebrows, you could see how his fingers fidget somewhat, almost as if he could tell you would bring his odd behavior up.
âYouâve been acting really odd the last few days, Luke. It had me worried. I thought I did something wrong. It seems like you were avoiding me.â
âI was just really busy with counselor duties,â he dismissed it. However, something about it made you a bit hesitant to believe his words. You did it anyway, nevertheless. You blamed it on your stupid heart.
âYeah, butââ you stopped, not wanting to stir anything. âOk then, Iâm going to put this away, but Iâll see you later, yeah? Maybe we can finally not rain check again?â You hated how hopeful you sounded. Youâre glad that the sun had set a few minutes ago, blessing you with enough degree of darkness to hide your facial expressions from being as evident as they would be in daylight.
âOf course, Iâll see you later, Y/N,â despite the dark and only dim lights from nearby, you noticed there was something different about him. Luke was wearing a nervous smile, almost sheepish like a schoolboy. There was a glimmer of amazement in his eyes like he was in disbelief. Though it was definitely overpowered by a glaring degree of warmth. He was looking at you like all those writers have written down in the books you have read before - something along the lines of adoration and love.
You shook those thoughts away again, refusing to somehow fool yourself into believing he could reciprocate those feelings.
âYeah, see you,â you muttered, hand gripping tightly on the box as you took it from his hold. As soon as you reached your cabin, you opened the box to peer inside. You immediately sighed in relief upon seeing the copious amount of letters with your handwriting on them, all with Lukeâs name on the front.
However, your eyes landed on one unfamiliar one. It had your name on it, written in a familiar wonky handwriting that you have always found endearing.
You sat on your bed, taking the letter out delicately, almost in disbelief. Then, dread overtook any other emotion. Was this Lukeâs way of letting you down easy? By pretending to not have read any of your letters and rejecting you through the form that you express your love to him? â you had to physically shake your head at that thought.
You took the letter out of its envelope and started reading:Â
âDear Y/N,
This is probably the 40th time I tried writing this letter. It feels impossible to try and convey everything onto one piece of paper.
You deserve someone to at least view you as their muse rather than always being the writer.Â
Hence why, for the past few days, I had to physically drag myself away from you every time you tried approaching me because I knew if I didnât, I would just end up spilling my feelings out right then. I knew if I even looked at you, I would have just abandoned this letter idea and run to you. You should have seen me yesterday. When we made eye contact, I had to turn away from you because having the knowledge of you liking me back was enough to knock all the air out of my lungs. I was a flustered mess from just that eye contact.
I doubt my words could rival what you have written about me. You once wrote how it hurts to love someone this much and to always be the poet but never the poem. Well, Iâd like to thank you for making me your poems. However, now it is your turn. Allow me to be your poet.
You occupy my mind like itâs your castle. If I had to name everything I love about you, this letter would never end. But for starters, here are some of the first times:
The first time Chiron introduced you to the Hermes cabin, I could not take my eyes off you. Chris had to nudge me away. Just from that alone, a part of me knew I was in trouble. I think I came to the conclusion that I did not want to hold anybody elseâs hand after just shaking yours.
2.5 years back during a campfire in June, even when the fire had died and the air grew cold, our voices still filled the air. Conversations just flow when I am with you. I remember never wanting that moment to end. Then you started talking about constellations and told me about the ones above us. Right there and then was the first time I had the urge to kiss you, and to show you that I was just as obsessed with you as you were with stars.
The first time I realized I was in love with you was while coming back from a quest 2 years ago. I remember feeling so numb coming back. The world almost seemed monotone, and I wondered for a second, what if I had made one wrong move? Just as I returned to camp, you bolted and hugged me. Somehow, it felt like I had just taken my first bit of fresh air after drowning for so long. I vividly recall shutting my eyes as I hugged you back because I felt like I was finally home. I remember never wanting to be away or out of your hold as others approached and rushed to get me into the infirmary for checkups.
It was only when I was lying on the infirmary bed that it hit me like a train that lost control. A large proportion of why I fought so hard was to come back to you. Youâre my best friend, Y/N, and my place of solace and peace. Then came the realization that I was in love with you. I remember everybody elseâs voice drowning out as I focused on that thought. It was strangely calming, as if my heart had known all along but was waiting for my head to catch up. Then I remember just smiling as I looked at the ceiling, unafraid of the new feeling.
Last year, the day we went on a quest together lapsed with Valentineâs Day. Every moment felt extra sweet. Us sitting on the train, staring outside the window together like a couple going on a trip. My mind savoured the small things like you falling asleep on my shoulder with my coat around you and us holding hands as we walked through the crowd to not get lost among couples - which I like to imagine that others had thought we were one as well. It was the first time I allowed myself to pretend this is how it would feel like if you were mine and how our lives together would be if we were not Demigods.
I thought for sure you would have realized something by the way I was staring and acting around you that I was irrevocably in love with you. After reading your letters, I realized that you did see it. But you refused to believe that I could ever be in love with you. Well, I hope my letters will reverse all your doubts, because Y/N, it is so easy to fall in love with you.Â
In fact, the world I built up in my head during last yearâs quest had consumed my thoughts enough to make me frown at the idea of returning to camp, where it would not just be the two of us anymore. Loving you has never been something I was afraid of. Loving you has been an honour every single day, even if you never knew of it.Â
Itâs also somewhat funny that I was heavily lovesick while you were lovelorn. But I promise, Y/N, that from this second on, I intend to make you know that you are loved and that I am so deeply in love with you.
Again, I never intended for you to wait for three days, but I ended up throwing away every letter I started because I felt like none had suffice. I didnât want to mess it up and give you something less than you deserved. I wanted to do something nice for you. I promise Iâll make it up for those three days if you allow me to. But one chance is all I need.
If you are willing to give me that chance, you know where to find me.
Sincerely,
Luke Castellanâ
Upon reading his last words, you immediately left your cabin with the letter in hand. You jogged to the spot where the two of you would always meet to stargaze together. Almost instantly, you saw his tall figure under the moonlight. As if he could sense your presence, the Hermes boy turned around and gave you a sweet smile.
âYou meant it?â you asked as you raised the letter up, slowly approaching him.
âEvery single word, including all the unspoken ones I intend on telling you from now on,â the way he said it felt like he was swearing it on his own heart. âIn fact, I would have written more down, but I knew I was keeping you waiting for too long,â he explained as you stopped right before him.
Something about this moment felt cathartic. Three years of dancing around unspoken words and yearning led to this moment. Luke grabbed your hand and rubbed his thumb over your knuckle. You peered up at him, and it was then that you finally accepted what his looks meant: he was in love with you, and there was no doubt about that. There was no more denial on your end that Luke Castellan was enamored with you.
âWill you let me be your poet, Y/N?â he breathlessly referenced the words you and him had both previously written like he had been waiting for this for a lifetime.
âOf course,â you answered almost without hesitation, watching his eyes soften even more, if possible.
âIs it ok if I ask you another question?â he asked again, his other hand caressing your cheek.
âYeah?â Your face flushed as you saw his brown eyes dart to your lips.
âCan I kiss you?â
This time, you didnât say anything. Youâve written down way too many words in the past three years. You decided actions would speak louder in this case. So you pulled Luke down by his camp necklace, hands gripping the beads on it as you tiptoed up to reach his lips.Â
Luke physically melted as he brought one hand to your waist to hold you up as he leaned down from the height difference. Everything Luke had imagined before could not match the kiss he was finally sharing with you - the kiss that seemed to seal his lips into a spell that would forever leave them unable to belong to anyone else. It felt like heaven and hell combined because he knew that this was going to ruin him forever, and every second he spent with his eyes shut would be one where he had this feeling and moment sown behind his eyelids.Â
You had the same line of thoughts. The wait was long, but you felt like it was worth it. Under the stars, you may feel small. But standing there next to Luke, you finally realize it doesnât matter. Because he was holding you like you were the only thing that mattered.
You were his sun, moon, and everything in between - no constellations could ever measure to you.

Avoiding work on Friday nights was one of the first things Sunghoon did after you left. He didn't want to deal with the fact that that particular day was when he found you sitting at one of the tables in his bar with Stella, waiting for his and Jay's shift to finish so you could all drink together.
Now nothing else made sense, and those nights were filled with his bed, a cosy blanket and your mind wandering back to the last night you and he spent together. Sunghoon could feel the touch of your fingers on his skin, the way his name was whispered by you. It felt like an endless melody. Sleeping next to him had a different meaning after so long friendship.
But then the bitter taste of disappointment invaded him with the same intensity. Less than twenty-four hours after you told him you were in love, Sunghoon read the worst letter he could have read in his entire life. He had always wanted to travel and get to know countries, but suddenly he had a grudge against Switzerland because he knew that's where you were apparently staying. Why so far away? Why did you have to go somewhere with no explanation? A letter wasn't enough because it only said what he already knew: it had all been your father's plan. Sunghoon knew how much he controlled your life, but the thought of him causing it all made the boy's blood boil.
"Fuck everything" was what Sunghoon repeated most often every time he remembered something related to you.
How he remembered the first day he saw you at university, or how he heard you call him and greet him every time you met. He remembers every moment you were by his side, with your arms entwined or your head resting on his shoulder.
It was hard to forget every little moment when you and he almost kissed when you were drunk. Faces millimeters apart, heart racing and breathless⌠But then the day in your flat made it all worthwhile. While he was between your legs, kissing you with all the love he'd ever felt and fucking you on your kitchen worktop. Sunghoon could repeat that day a million times over, even though afterward you went and left him the next day. It was the one thing he didn't want to go through.
"You need to snap out of it, man" Jay threw himself on the sofa in Sunghoon's flat, sitting next to him on Saturday night. At times he was the only one who managed to make his friend feel a little better as they talked.
"How?" Sunghoon hugged the cushion, snuggling further into the sofa and staring at the television. He felt Jay's gaze on him as he listened to his friend talk again.
âI don't know, weââ Jay paused for a moment, sliding his body across the leather of the soft sofa and sighing loudly âHow about we go out for a while? Just the boys.â
âI think I'd rather stay in my apartment for the next few yearsâ Sunghoon replied.
Jay sighed again, reaching up and snatching the pillow from Sunghoon's lap. He scrambled up, wanting to take back the one thing he was hugging for comfort at the moment.
That's when he saw his friend's face in pure concern, but with something else that he couldn't decipher. Jay was serious most of the time, no one knew what he was feeling â apart from Stella â but Sunghoon knew his best friend so well that he could tell something was wrong.
âJayâ he called out, seeing that Jay was swallowing and straightening up on the sofa.
âRight, I can't lieâ Jay closed his eyes âI need to get you out of the house today and take you to a club on the other side of town.â
It was Sunghoon's turn to turn from curious to confused. What was Jay talking about, anyway? And why did he have to take him to the other side of town today? They worked in a bar, not quite a club, but pretty much the same thing: loud music, drinking and lots of people. Why go to a place that would be practically the same as his work environment?
âWhy?â he asked Jay.
The older man was debating whether to say something so direct or simply make up an excuse to drag Sunghoon along. But Jay couldn't lie like he had said, it was almost impossible not to tell the truth to the eyes that stared at him so expectantly.
âBecause Stella's taking Y/n there tooâ he said âShe's back, man.â
A ringing sound passed through Sunghoon's ears, as if the sound pierced his eardrums and he felt an extremely strong pressure in his head. Grateful to be sitting down and knowing that he would get this reaction, Jay was already getting him something to drink from the coffee table. Even though Sunghoon couldn't swallow anything or move, at least Jay was trying.
âJay, stop fooling around.â
âI swear to Godâ he whined âI found out today, Stella didn't want to tell me anything and just asked me to get you out of the house.â
âWhy?â Sunghoon stared at a fixed point in the room, everything he was hearing seeming like a dream.
âI know as much as you doâ Jay touched Sunghoon's shoulder, making him finally face his best friend âIt seems that only Stella and Alicia know that she's back, no one else. And a lot is going on that not even my girlfriend, Y/n's best friend, knows about.â
Sunghoon debated for a moment whether he should go to where Jay wanted to take him, because things were getting more and more confusing.
You went away and said goodbye in a letter, then you came back and only your two best friends know. At least about your return, because something is going on that even Stella doesn't know about, according to what Jay is saying. So⌠What was your father up to? That was the thought Sunghoon had as he forced his legs to get up from the sofa, resting his hands on the seat and standing in the middle of the room.
He didn't want to hope for anything at all, and he didn't know what your reaction would be, or even his own, seeing you so many months after your departure. Without exchanging a message, a single phone call. How would you see him afterwards? How would he treat you when he saw you face to face?
âI'm just going to take a showerâ Sunghoon sighed âI hope this doesn't go to shit, Jongseong.â
âDon't call me thatâ Jay pouted, which was ignored by Sunghoon as he headed for his room to shower and get ready.
Jay also hoped it wouldn't go to shit because no one knew what would happen. But he and Stella hoped that you and Sunghoon would at least talk.
If it weren't for the primal tension between your meeting with Sunghoon, Jay could easily say that he was the most nervous in that entire club. Firstly because his girlfriend trusted him enough to ask Sunghoon to leave the house, but he knew he wouldn't be able to get his best friend out so easily. So telling the truth had been the best course of action. That was why he was walking through the door of that club, the colored lights spinning back and forth and the loud sound almost piercing his insides.
He kept repeating to himself a mantra that things could go smoothly if Stella had already poured you and Alicia some drinks, while he walked in with Sunghoon and Jake. The latter was trying his best to get Sunghoon to walk around people and not turn around and go home. They both knew he could do this at any moment, so Jay led the way into the bar while keeping Sunghoon in the middle and Jake behind in case the other wanted to leave without being seen.
None of them could imagine what it was like for Sunghoon to deal with all of this, although Jay and Jake were just as curious to know what was behind everything that was happening.
Meanwhile, Sunghoon was going over in his mind what he would say to you when he saw you in the first place. Say hello and run off? Or just wave and smile as he went to the bar and got drunk? Maybe he'd do the latter â and the one that was most recommended â because he felt like he might pass out at any moment.
âRightâ Jay stopped walking for a moment, turning around and almost slamming his body into Sunghoon, who stopped walking abruptly. But that didn't stop Jake from tripping and slamming into his friend, muttering curses and standing next to the taller man âLet's get a drink before we meet them.â
âI can hang around the bar and you two go find your girlfriendsâ Sunghoon wanted to get out of there right away and would try anything to make that happen.
âYou come with us, wise guyâ Jake took him by the shoulders and led him to the bar.
Ordering strong drinks wasn't a big deal for three people who owned a very trendy bar on the other side of town. This could even inspire new drinks at the establishment, Jay thought as he saw colorful liquids and completely different names on the menu. Something that pleased even the palates of the three who sat at the bar and drank three glasses in a row.
Every minute in that bar seemed like an eternity and the fact that Sunghoon didn't want to face the reality that, almost certainly, he was in the same environment as you after such a long time. It wasn't as if he knew how to act because even though he was your friend and had been hiding the fact that he was in love with you for years, he had never gone so long without seeing you. And even less had something so intimate happened that you left without giving any explanation.
âStella's callingâ Jay picked up his cell phone after a long time talking to Sunghoon and Jake, trying to find the courage to get out of there too and pretend that they were randomly in the same club.
He picked it up and chatted very quickly, neither of the other two paying any attention because they were apprehensive about what would happen next.
âAlicia texted meâ Jake finished swallowing the drink in his glass âThey're bringing Y/n to the bar.â
âIs it now or never?â Jay tried to smile, knowing that it looked more like a grimace to the two in front of him.
Sunghoon didn't even dare move, leaning against the bar counter as he played with the glass between his fingers. He needed to occupy himself with something other than the fact that he was only a few minutes away from seeing you again. His heart felt like it was going to burst out of his mouth and if it hadn't been for the alcohol warming his muscles, he could have sworn he was shaking right now.
âHey, guys!â Stella's voice had a strange effect on Sunghoon, who cringed and closed his eyes tightly.
âBaby, you over hereâ Jay lied so badly, Sunghoon could laugh at that awful performance as he heard the kissing sounds of the couple greeting each other. Then it was Jake and Alicia's turn, the same greeting followed until his friends' voices ceased and he concentrated on the only thing that mattered at that moment.
âY/n? You're back?â Jake was smiling, his tone a little more theatrical than Jay's. Sunghoon knew that he hadn't been the first to greet you because his best friend was so nervous that he could scream and run off with the other Park if it were possible.
âJake, hey. Yes, I am!â you sounded excited, and cheerful and hadn't seen Sunghoon who was leaning back against the bar. He waved for the barman to fill his glass and as soon as he did, the liquid almost overflowed from the glass between his fingers.
âWhat are you doing here?â Alicia asked.
Sunghoon took the glass and brought it to his lips, the burning sensation going down his throat was the best in that second when he heard Jay answer.
âWe came on a boys' night out. Me, Jake, and Sunghoonâ he felt Jay's hand touch the middle of his back. Sunghoon almost spat out his drink out of nervousness, it was time to turn around.
Everything seemed to stop the second he laid eyes on you. Nothing seemed to have changed, except that you were even more beautiful. If that were possible. He pressed his fingers tightly against the body of the drink while keeping his gaze on yours, which, strangely, you held. Nothing on his face seemed to scream astonishment at seeing you there and Sunghoon couldn't tell if that was a good thing or not. He swore he knew you well enough until a few months ago before you left. But after that, he didn't know who Y/n was standing in front of him at that moment.
âSunghoonâ you said his name so gracefully. He almost gave in to all the pressure and the nervous looks among the group of friends staring at the scene before them.
âY/nâ Sunghoon said in the same way, raising his glass and drinking the entire contents in one go.
He suddenly felt his eyes sting because the last time he'd seen you, he'd left your apartment swearing he'd see you at his bar the next night. When he could finally ask you to be his girl, as he had always dreamed. And now here you are, as someone who took his heart to Switzerland and came back without a single explanation.
He saw you open your mouth to say something as the two couples of friends disappeared to the bar to order drinks. Sunghoon swallowed, wanting to turn around and order more alcohol. It was the only thing that could keep him standing there without doing something ridiculous. But he knew that wasn't going to happen.
âWeââ
âI need to go to the bathroomâ he interrupted you and he didn't know why, or maybe he did, he just didn't want to feel like crying in front of you. Sunghoon had whined enough for months and the pride that engulfed him was enough for him not to do it in front of you.
Not when he'd already had too much to drink and certainly not when you were looking on with so many emotions at once.
Sunghoon hurried off towards the club toilets, stumbling a few times and apologizing to everyone he bumped into. He hadn't meant to do that, to look like a runaway and a lovesick idiot. But he knew he couldn't predict a reaction, not when he had no way of denying that his feelings for you had never gone away.
He wanted to have stopped feeling anything for you, wanted to have turned that hurt and sadness into anger, and moved on. But every time Sunghoon thought he could move on, you appeared in one of his dreams. Or Stella would comment on something nostalgic involving you, making him remember how much he loved you.
It could be a ploy by his friends to never forget you, or that your best friend somehow wanted to keep you in mind because she might know something. Sunghoon knew it was, but he also had no way of confronting Stella and asking her to tell him. He knew that you might have asked for secrecy and he wanted to respect that, but he couldn't help himself because it all came back at once. And that's why he ran to one of the bathroom cubicles and locked himself in, sitting on the toilet and taking a deep breath.
What he wanted most was for you to come back to him, but why was Sunghoon wishing he wasn't around you at that moment? Why so much conflict when all he had to do was get out of that bathroom and talk to you?
âHey Hoon, it's me, Jakeâ the boy's voice snapped him out of his thoughts, making Sunghoon get up from the toilet and quickly open the door âAre you okay?â
A moment of silence and Jake noticed Sunghoon's eyes shining brighter than usual. He knew it could happen and it was understandable why it had happened so quickly.
âYou don't have to answer, it's okay, manâ he said, slipping one of his arms around Sunghoon's shoulders âWhat do you say we get drunk until you forget your name?
âI'd love to, butââ
âBut just think about the drink, at least she's back. We can think about that later, okay?â
He wanted to believe Jake's words and how they could comfort him, even if he was still nervous. So Sunghoon tried to smile, finding a little strength in the friend next to him who was slowly getting him out of the bathroom.
Doing what Jake had said that night might not be so bad. Drink a lot, talk and think later.
Sunghoon's last memory was of going to the bar with Jake and ordering three more drinks. After that, everything became a blur and now he had the biggest headache in years.
He was like a frat boy waking up the day after a party smelling of booze and with some random girl sleeping next to him. In contrast, Sunghoon smelled of soap, his pajamas were clean and no girl was next to him, but the messy bed indicated that he hadn't slept alone. Or so it seemed.
âWhat the fuck happened?â he muttered to himself as he groped around the bedside table for his cell phone or something, finding it practically dead.
Now the headache seemed a little worse as Sunghoon got up and sat on the bed, his back against the headboard as he sighed and tried to remember what had happened.
It couldn't be that bad or his friends would already be at the foot of the bed shaking Sunghoon and demanding explanations, so he could calm down a bit and slow down. To thought that things might not have gotten out of hand as he got out of bed and walked around the apartment looking for something that might remind him of the night before. But nothing was out of place, not even a sofa cushion.
He was alone in that place and there wasn't even a piece of clothing or accessory to make him think that someone might be there.
It was then that his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the front door handle. The key turning outside and the sound of bags on the other side of the door⌠Jake or Jay was bringing something to cure his hangover and it made Sunghoon breathe a sigh of relief to see that his friends were thinking of him.
But his smile fell when you walked through the door. Not that he didn't want to see you there, but of all the people Sunghoon imagined⌠You, wearing one of his T-shirts and the pants from the night before, bags hanging from your arms, and your hair loose, was the image he never thought he would see clearly.
âY/n?â he asked, taking you by surprise when you entered the apartment.
âYou're awake!â your smile almost made him shout, but he made do and ran towards you to help you with the bags, quickly picking them up and taking them to the kitchen.
The small silence in the room wasn't awkward, but you seemed a little apprehensive as Sunghoon looked at all the bags, hesitating to look in your direction.
âFeeling better?â you asked as you stopped next to him, opening one of the bags and taking out a packet of coffee and a carton of milk.
âDid you⌠Did you do any shopping?â he looked at the things you were unpacking, then finally looked at you.
What the fuck, why is she so close? He almost cried at the closeness when he saw you looking up, a shy little smile on your lips as you looked at him.
âI didâ you replied âYou need to stock that cupboard and I thought you needed something to eat after last night.â
After last night. Right, how could he say he didn't remember anything, especially that you were in his apartment?
Sunghoon didn't know how to say something like that, especially since you seemed so casual in his kitchen as if you hadn't abandoned him months ago. As if you and he hadn't been apprehensive in each other's presence the night before.
But on the contrary, you seemed quite at ease taking food out of the bag and sorting it on the kitchen worktop. The almost familiar scene of the last time you and he had met, warmed his heart slightly and made Sunghoon feel his chest tighten. Fear and nostalgia washed over him as he watched you casually turn on the coffee machine after putting the supplies away. Every time your gaze crossed his, Sunghoon felt like shouting and asking what you were doing there. Perhaps the last part he could do.
âWhat are you doing here?â he asked after a long time without saying anything, just enjoying â even if fearfully â your presence in front of him.
âI brought you home after you nearly passed out in the bar last nightâ you smiled, even though your gaze was on the coffee machine and the sound of the liquid falling into one of the cups.
Sunghoon sighed heavily and leaned on the kitchen worktop, facing you and at a safe distance from the other side. If he were standing next to you, you knew you wouldn't be able to control yourself.
âAnd what happened?â he decided to ask, to be honest at least âI don't remember anythingâŚâ
âI didn't think soâ you laughed. A laugh so genuine that Sunghoon almost jumped over that counter to kiss you the way he wanted.
âSo⌠tell meâ he asked softly, almost in a whisper, but you heard him nonetheless.
Waiting for the first cup of coffee to be ready, you handed it to him while he prepared another for you. Sunghoon took it and drank the dark, bitter liquid, knowing that it could help with his hangover.
âNeither Jake nor Jay could get you to stop drinking yesterdayâ you began, your gaze following Sunghoon's every move as you watched him drink the hot, bitter coffee.
âAnd what did you do?â Sunghoon asked, apprehensive about the answer.
Suddenly a flush rose to his cheeks and he thought it might be the steam from the coffee you were preparing, but as soon as you looked away, he knew something else had happened.
âI thought on impulse and kissed youâ you managed to grab the freshly prepared cup, causing Sunghoon to almost choke on his coffee.
Now he felt like a complete idiot because, after all this time, you had kissed him and he hadn't remembered?
âIt was quick, enough to make you drop the glassâ you said âThen you asked me to bring you home because⌠WellâŚâ
He ran his gaze all over your body, forcing himself to remember a little more of what was going on. Sunghoon doesn't remember the feeling of your lips on his again, but like a memory retrieval, he could visualize getting into your car together with you. The drive to his apartment and how you helped him undress so he could shower.
You hated that he slept smelling of booze since university⌠Why didn't Sunghoon think of that as soon as he woke up? Only you could make him clean himself up even when he was drunk.
âAnd then you asked me to sleep with you becauseâŚâ your voice faltered a little, your gaze lowered to the liquid in your cup as you vividly remembered Sunghoon's words âBecause you didn't want me to escape again.â
Drunk or not, he didn't regret having said that to you. Sunghoon's only regret was not being sober enough to have enjoyed the time he had with you since you entered his apartment. But now that time could be rewarded as he left his cup on the counter and walked around to stand in front of you.
âI really meant that, Y/nâ he said, smiling weakly when you also left your cup on the counter to turn to him.
You didn't have to be a genius to know that Sunghoon was leaning in the next second and capturing your lips in a slow kiss. Knowing the man in front of you well, you even thought it took him long enough to do it. Fighting his demons and fears of losing you again, but at the same time pushing it all away and concentrating only on having you in his arms again.
The way he grabbed you and sat you on his kitchen worktop, his hands sliding down your thighs â unfortunately â clad in the pants from the night before. As your lips moved against his, Sunghoon felt a spark in his body thinking that this could only be a dream. Because one night he was moaning yet again about you, being dragged out by Jay. While the next day he had you sitting on his bench, kissing him so lovingly as if you weren't the cause of the pain and fear he felt.
You were the first to break the kiss, gasping for air in your lungs from the euphoria of kissing Sunghoon after so long. He stood between your legs, foreheads pressed together as he felt your breath against his lips.
âWhy did you leave?â he asked suddenly, his hands squeezing your legs without much force, but enough for you to know that he wasn't going to let you go.
You sighed once more, your lips brushing against his as your hands traveled the length of Sunghoon's arms until they reached his shoulders.
âMy father,â you whispered, âhe wanted to control so much.â
âLike what?â Sunghoon lowered his face to the curve of your neck, inhaling your scent which seemed to calm him down a little. The feeling of comfort that settled over him when you sighed and pressed him against your body.
Sunghoon didn't want to leave, to stay with you forever in that position or your arms. He could forget everything that had happened and focus on the present moment while he relished the sensation of your hands against his skin or your skin against his lips. But not everything could be that simple, not when your phone interrupted the whole process.
The noise of the handset could have been ignored if it hadn't been so annoying to you. Apologizing to Sunghoon, you sneaked close enough to grab the handset from the other side of the worktop, still holding the boy between your legs as she alternated your gaze between him and the phone.
âAnswer itâ he whispered, smoothing your legs and trying not to kiss you while you answered.
As much as he wanted to do that, he wanted to hear you grumble while he kissed your neck or to hear you fight with him for making you make embarrassing sounds to whoever was on the other end of the line.
âHi, Dadâ well, maybe he really could do that then.
Sunghoon's lips slowly brushed against your chin, listening to you grumble as you spoke to your father. He already didn't like the older man, so it wouldn't hurt if you said Sunghoon's name out loud while he spread kisses all over your skin. Going down to your neck, tugging at the collar of his T-shirt â which you wore so beautifully â Sunghoon wanted to mark your skin.
âI⌠I didn't tell you I was back, I'm sorryâ so not even your father knew about your return to the country? That was intriguing, it almost made him stop kissing your skin. But Sunghoon remained strong, convinced that he wouldn't stop until you said his name.
âNo, I can't do that⌠Shitâ you almost let out a moan when Sunghoon nibbled at the perfect spot on your neck, matching the exact moment when he pressed his hips against yours âStopâŚâ you whispered to him as you moved the device far enough away so that your father wouldn't hear.
âNoâ he smiled and sealed your lips, letting you go back to talking to your father.
âDinner? ButâŚâ you faltered a little, trying to concentrate on the bullshit demands your father was trying to make of you. Without taking into account that you were going to Switzerland to try to get away from him and the way he tried to control your life, âI'm not going.â
âBut we need to make arrangements for you to meet Owen, after all, his father and I still think you two should get married.â
It was careless of you to put the phone away just as your father raised his voice on the other end of the line, echoing loud enough for Sunghoon to hear. You could have waved it off, disconnected the call and pretended that nothing had happened, but you knew it was too late when you no longer felt Sunghoon's ringtone.
He moved away from you slowly, his eyes focused on your face as he tried to explain what he had just heard.
You didn't even manage to answer your father properly, disconnecting the call straight away and putting the phone somewhere else on the worktop.
âSunghoonâŚâ
âGetting married, then?â he took a few steps out from between your legs, but remained standing in front of you.
âI'm not getting married, I justââ
âWhen were you going to tell me?â Sunghoon asked, his tone wavering as he continued to stare at you âWhen the date is set?â
âI've already said I'm not getting married, Sunghoon. My fatherâŚâ
âDid he set you up? Was he going to set you up with some business partner's son like in those shitty movies where you, rich, fall in love with a piece of shit like me, but are promised to someone full of money?â
Sunghoon never changed his tone of voice in all the years the two of you had known each other, it had been so different that you never imagined yourself in that scenario. Not even when you met him the night before, expecting him to yell at you and do something to hurt you. But no. Here you were again, hurting him as you had done.
âSunghoon, Iââ
âPlease, go awayâ Sunghoon walked over to the sink, his hands resting on it and his body forward, staring at anything in the dishes that was interesting enough for him not to look at you.
âButââ
âI told you to leave, Y/nâ the harsh, squeaky voice made your body cringe, you got off the counter and didn't dare approach him, even though you wanted to wrap your arms around him and tell him what was going on. You thought he would listen to you, but Sunghoon seemed adamant.
Your body couldn't move, although you needed to get out of there when your vision started to blur and you felt your chest tighten. Sunghoon didn't hear any movement from you, so he turned his head to find you standing there in his kitchen.
He was no longer ashamed to cry in front of you, nor did he think he'd be able to hide it when it all mixed and pooled in his eyes, trailing down his cheeks, not unlike you.
âPlease, leave me alone. Please, Y/n.â
The pleading cut through your heart and you knew it was all because of you. Because you weren't able to say anything to him or even stop your father from saying all the shit he always said.
There was nothing left to do but leave Sunghoon's apartment, even though you wanted to stay. You knew that going back wouldn't be a good idea, but you didn't think you'd experience any of it either.
âYou're staying with us tonight, aren't you?â Jay's voice was a little louder than the music playing in the bar. Sunghoon turned to his friend and smiled weakly, admiring his persistence in thinking he would stay there on a Friday night. Even though he knew there was a good chance you'd show up.
He still didn't know how he was feeling after what had happened, and he also avoided Stella's little requests â through Jay â for him to text you or come to your apartment. Sunghoon had no idea what to feel or think in that situation, making his mind work on various scenarios that he created himself.
Thinking that you could have gone to Switzerland with that man your father had mentioned on the phone, or worse, he thought about how long you had been promised to someone rich and disgusting who had been your old father's choice. While Sunghoon could barely provide you with a decent life. Not that you needed it, because he knew you had enough money to buy his bar if you wanted to. A decent life was all you didn't need from him. That's why maybe someone from your world, the way you lived, would be better. That's why your father seemed so convinced of this, without ruling out any possibility that you might already be with someone else.
Not that he was that other person, there hadn't even been time for Sunghoon to make a formal request or even say that you were his. There was no time at all.
âI'm going homeâ Sunghoon replied after getting lost in his thoughts, seeing Jay's worried look in his direction.
The tray carrying the empty glasses went straight into the sink, and Sunghoon washed and sanitized them properly before leaving them to drain and waiting for Jake or Heeseung to finish the job.
âReally?â Jay leaned against the opposite side of the sink from where Sunghoon still stood, looking at the people coming in and out of the small dance floor. They were drunk enough to wave to Jake, who was pouring them a drink at the moment.
âReally, I think I need a restâ in reality, he didn't need a rest, he was just avoiding meeting you there in case you went. And Jay knew that very well.
âOkayâ he conceded, no longer wanting to push Sunghoon to say anything about it. He got up from where he was to walk over to his friend, ruffling the boy's dark, sweaty hair in front of him âAnything, call me, okay? I'm not drinking tonight because Stella and Alicia will probably want to leave here loaded,â he said, making Sunghoon laugh âSo I'll be chauffeuring you all night. Don't hesitate to call me if you need anything.â
âAnd neither will Iâ Jake appeared next to Jay âI drove here today and I can drop Alicia off at home if you need us at your apartmentâŚâ
âBoys' night?â Sunghoon joked.
âCome on, it's only desolate, sad girls who can do that?â Jake pouted and picked up a clean glass, grimacing at his two friends as he walked away to serve another group of people who had leaned over the bar.
Sunghoon felt terrible to see his friends' efforts to make him well, even if he didn't want to be sinking like that into something that was only hurting. He wished he could stay at the bar or even accept the boys' invitation to do something, but all he wanted was to be home. Maybe cry some more â out of resentment or anger â and drink whatever was in the fridge, then fall asleep until the next morning.
And that's what he did when he got to his apartment, at least the drinking part. He took off his shoes and coat, then went to the fridge and got three cans of beer. He sat down on the sofa and opened them one by one while thinking about his life recently.
He knew that sleep would be a long time coming because with every sip of beer, he wondered why all this was happening. Sunghoon had seen movies with this theme before, he had even heard of a book that Stella read about a rich guy who fell in love with a girl who wasn't rich. The only difference was that his story with you was the complete opposite. Sunghoon wasn't rich at all.
Laughing at life's misfortunes, he finished his third beer and risked opening the bottle of wine that Jake had bought and left at his friend's apartment for the next time they were all together. Perhaps he wouldn't mind if Sunghoon drank it all, because the occasion called for a little more alcohol and until the next meeting between friends, he would certainly buy Jake another bottle. And if it was for the heartbreak reason, which it really was, he knew his friend would forgive him for taking it all himself.
âI don't think that's going to be enoughâ Sunghoon muttered to himself as he opened the bottle and took the first sip of wine, the strange mixture of the previous taste of beer and the smooth grapes of the current drink. He had mixed a lot of things before, but this one was strange. Not that it mattered at the moment, Sunghoon just wanted to finish that bottle.
To feel nothing but sleep or for all that sensation to fade from his body, at least for a little while. Just long enough for him to recover enough so that, when he saw you again, he wouldn't act like an idiot in love. Even though you might be in the arms of someone other than him. Even if you were going to share a life with someone other than him. Sunghoon thought he was too late in proposing to you because he had wasted so much time without saying anything.
From the moment he met you at university until years after his courses ended, he was only able to talk about his feelings because you did it first. And even then you tore it all away from him in a matter of a short time. But even though it happened, if he had told you he loved you even before all that, Sunghoon could have enjoyed a little time being yours and you being his. In his arms.
And not that empty bottle of wine he was holding, hoping it would be you there.
Sunghoon usually woke up from his nap with his cell phone ringing in the early hours of Friday morning. Jake or Jay calls and he refuses to go to the bar to finish the drinks so that everyone would go home drunk. But now his nap had been interrupted by frantic knocks on the door.
The first thing he did was glance at the clock hanging on the opposite wall, showing that he had been asleep for less than twenty minutes. The empty bottle of wine was neatly placed on the coffee table in the living room and he had closed his eyes while still sitting on the sofa, without bothering to lie down or go to the bedroom.
The knocks continued and Sunghoon began to get anxious because the rapidity with which the noises were made against the door indicated that whoever was there was in a hurry. And maybe his friends needed him because something might have happened. Jay and Jake weren't drunk, as they had said in the bar before he left⌠So what could it be? He didn't want to think about anything else and ran the few steps from the sofa to the door, taking a long breath before opening it.
His hand trembled slightly against the handle as he turned it slowly and, with his other hand, Sunghoon unlocked the door.
He could have seen it through the peephole before opening it because the look of astonishment on your face when you stood in front of his apartment door wasn't something you could have rehearsed. You could see that Sunghoon wasn't expecting it and, strangely, you didn't care whether he liked it or not. It was as if you had already predicted that his reaction would be total astonishment.
Sunghoon couldn't say anything, amazed and even a little stunned by your presence there. Stopping to analyze the whole situation, your clothes were quite different from the ones you usually wore. No social attire, elegant clothes, or high heels. Instead, you were wearing jeans, a button-down shirt three times your size, and a completely messy ponytail. Your breathing was so ragged that you could only take deep breaths while looking at him.
âY/n?â Sunghoon practically whispered as he stared at you trying to take it all in. Afraid he'd say your name a little louder and it was just a drunken dream he was having.
To his surprise, you just nodded and took a step forward, still panting as you walked far enough into his apartment. Facing him squarely.
Already preparing yourself for the question he would ask, such as âwhat are you doing here?â or whatever, you tried to act on your feelings and prayed that he wouldn't interrupt you this time. The speed with which your lips touched his even shocked you because you didn't think you'd have such good aim just by lifting your own feet high enough to reach where you most wanted to touch him at that second.
Processing the event while still half-drowsy, Sunghoon smacked his lips to yours and then pulled away. Inches away from your face just to try to assimilate that you had just kissed him, and when you grabbed him by the shirt and pulled him against you again, he let himself go.
It wasn't as if he was going to stop you from kissing him, even though he had mixed feelings. But neither was he going to deny that he was kissing the woman he loved so much.
He was the first to give the go-ahead to deepen the kiss, opening his lips to receive your tongue and feeling you press your fingers into his shirt. When your tongue tangled with Sunghoon's, he put his hand around your waist to press you against him. His free hand closed the door in the same second to push your back against the cold wood and trap you between it and the tall, slender body in front of you.
In a contest of longing and need, your tongue and his played in sync as you felt Sunghoon's hand slide under the fabric of your shirt. Touching your skin and almost sending a shock through your whole body when he ran his short nails along your hip. A screaming need to feel him in every corner of your body, you craved it as much as he did and tried to show it as you kissed him even more.
Even though it was an almost impossible mission to say everything you felt for Sunghoon because it was beyond words and all you wanted was to make him understand you. That he would listen to you because surely his thoughts about everything that was happening were completely wrong. You wanted to prove it to him. And maybe you were on the right track.
When Sunghoon ran both hands down your hips, to your ass, and down to your thighs, the two slaps there were enough for you to understand that he wanted you in his arms. On his lap. And you didn't hesitate to jump up and wrap your legs around his body when he picked you up.
âTake me to your roomâ you smiled against his lips, slowly sliding down when you both needed some air, going to Sunghoon's ear âWe need to talk.â
âAbout what?â Sunghoon's breathy voice was so attractive and exciting, that you could swear you almost moaned just from the memories it brought back.
âAbout usâ you felt Sunghoon's arms squeeze your body in his lap, but at no time did the boy show any resistance as he pulled you away from the door to take you to his room.
The whole way was done in silence, feeling his gaze on you almost the whole way, except when he paid a little more attention so that he didn't hurt you or stumble by mistake. Even more so when your lips did a great job against his cheek, going down to his jaw and neck. It bought you time between Sunghoon's slow steps and the time it took you to think about how to start that conversation once you got to his room.
Why, what would you start by saying? And how would you start? Because telling Stella, Jay, and Jake had been easy. Smooth, even, with the possibility of your friends judging you. But because it was Sunghoon, the main character in all of this, things seemed to be even more complicated.
Your thoughts were interrupted when the two of you reached his room, Sunghoon slowly standing you up as he passed the door and closed it. His eyes glazed over your figure as he waited for your next move. His mind would have to work a million different ways now. Afraid that he would kick you out of the apartment once again or not listen to you explain while you had a lot to say, something crossed your mind and you prayed that it would work out. Not least because you'd need to concentrate on every word while you did everything you wanted to do.
One of your hands went to Sunghoon's abdomen, slowly moving up to his chest and giving it a gentle push. It was nothing compared to her strength and his size, at most moving the boy's body a centimeter in front of you. Enough for him to take a slow step backward.
âSit downâ you instructed softly, slowly pushing him towards his bed. You tried your best to make your voice sound calm as you watched him nod and walk backward to the bed, sitting down and leaning against the headboard. Your smile slowly followed his, but Sunghoon held his breath as you climbed onto the bed to sit on his lap, both hands resting on his broad shoulders.
âWhat are you doing? Weren't we going to talk?â he asked, his voice shaky and wavering as he felt your weight on his lap. Sunghoon frowned, not because he hated having you on his lap, on the contrary, but it had never crossed his mind to have a conversation in that position.
âWe willâ you leaned your forehead against his âBut I'm afraid you won't let me talk, so I thought I'd do something.â
âWhat thing?â Sunghoon asked when he felt your breath against his face, your warm breath against his freshly kissed and still reddened lips. You smiled, but he couldn't capture the moment because he had just closed his eyes to revel in every little sensation you gave his body.
Sunghoon had completely forgotten the old feeling that he didn't want to see you anymore, that he was avoiding you at all costs. He forgot everything the moment he felt your lips on his when you arrived at the apartment, and now, feeling you holding his face between your hands. Your little fingers caressing his skin â which would have been stained with tears tonight if you hadn't been here â and trailing around his jaw to his lower lip. You didn't respond immediately, nor did he complain when he felt you kissing him again.
It was like being addicted to something and needing it to live, regardless of whether he deserved it or not. Sunghoon knew he wouldn't be able to go on without kissing you and without having you. He didn't want to think about a world in which you wouldn't be with him as you are right now. Sunghoon just wanted to feel your tongue entwining with his slowly, urgently, and intensely. Your heavy breathing against his mouth almost drove him crazy, not least when you were rocking against his lap.
It was too much torture to feel you like that, the clothes getting in the way as you slowly rolled over in his lap. His cock, once semi-hard, was now hard enough to rub against your jeans and the pants he was wearing, creating the perfect friction for both of you.
âFuckâ he moaned against your mouth, stifling another moan when he felt your nails against his shoulders. Sunghoon wasn't going to question whether that was an effective method of conversation, but if you wanted to start like that, he wasn't going to stop you.
He ran his big hands down your shirt, finding your ass very well synchronized in slowly rolling over, at the same intensity as your tongue played with his. It was as if you wanted to make him feel the same movements inside your mouth and on top of your lap, as your clothed pussy rubbed against his cock.
âSunghoonâ you moaned his name, an extremely low blow. This made Sunghoon's fingers squeeze each side of your buttocks, stopping your hip movements.
âDo youâŚâ he sighed, his heartbeat accelerating as you pulled your mouth away from his âDo you want to talk like this?â
He looked like a lost, needy little animal, his big eyes staring at you and his chest rising and falling in gasping breaths. Such a beautiful sight that you missed it, and having it again was something you didn't want to miss.
Releasing Sunghoon's hands from your ass, you intertwined your fingers with his and left them next to your body, on the side of your thighs. If your expression wasn't so passionate, he could have sworn it was some kind of tease as you moved back against his lap.
âI want you to pay attention only to what I sayâ you whispered, squeezing his fingers and letting out a low moan as your clit rubbed exactly against his jeans and the head of his cock at that moment. That was all you needed âCan you do that for me?â
There was a minute's silence as Sunghoon pondered this because he couldn't concentrate on anything other than the movements you were making. It would be difficult to focus on your words while what he wanted most at that moment was to be inside you.
âI'll tryâ he managed to say before he felt you slip out of his lap.
The loss of contact made Sunghoon a little dizzy because he felt his cock ache, that friction was all he needed, but losing it suddenly made him feel weak. He looked at where you were, standing next to his bed as you unbuttoned your jeans and left only your big shirt. It was a punishment that it was that big and covered half your thighs⌠Why couldn't you wear one of the shirts you normally wore? They were small enough to go halfway down the buttons of the pants you wore, and not nearly as dressy as that one. He also didn't think about why you were undressing, let alone why you had gone back between his legs and now it was your fingers' turn to open the buttons on Sunghoon's pants.
âY/n, whatââ he tilted his head back and leaned against the headboard, his eyes closing and his breathing completely heavy as you lowered the fabric of his pants enough to free his cock from the tightness of his jeans and hold it over the fabric of the briefs he was wearing âFuck, youâŚâ
âI want you to understand that whatever I say is trueâ your thumb perfectly drew the line of his cock head covered in pre-cum that had already soaked through his underwear. Sunghoon moaned loudly at the touch and squirmed to try to get your hand away, feeling the slight slap you gave him before looking him in the eye.
Eye contact alone could make him come right there, without any further ministrations from you. Sunghoon could free himself in his boxers as he felt you draw circles on the head of his cock, but it couldn't be that easy. You weren't going to provoke him because he didn't deserve that at all. He deserved to be taken care of, to listen carefully to what you had to say, and, perhaps, to understand every word. He just prayed that everything would be said clearly, even if he was struggling against your touches to pay attention to the words.
You knew that the body language between the two of you was a great connection because when your fingers slid into the waistband of his pants, Sunghoon didn't even think to help you remove the fabric along with the underwear he was wearing, his cock being released in a mixture of relief and pain, slapping against the belly covered by the T-shirt he was still wearing. The garments went halfway down his thighs before he saw you move far enough away for him to pull them off and throw them on the floor beside the bed. Now with his lower half completely bare to you, exposed like that, Sunghoon knew he wouldn't be able to concentrate on anything. Not with you kneeling between his legs again.
âI want you to believe me, Sunghoonâ you whispered as you leaned in, your face close enough to his to say it, âDo you?â
He was quiet at that moment, just staring at you and hoping that something would formulate in the back of his mind. Sunghoon would believe⌠But in what? What, exactly, would he have to believe? What would you say would have to be done just for him to believe? Sunghoon's mind wasn't working very well at that moment, he seemed lost and excited and just agreeing was enough for you to continue whatever you were doing. He would only accept at that moment, fighting against any greater urge before actually listening to you. Or feel you, because he didn't know what you would do first.
Watching your slow movements as you slid between his legs, your face lowering just enough to get close to his cock and your mouth touching the head smeared with pre-cum.
âFuck youâ he muttered almost as a roar of relief when he felt your hot mouth suck the tip of his cock. The pop when you released it made Sunghoon moan low and almost cry from the contact.
Your hand firmly gripped the base of his cock, the narrow veins running along the length that filled you so well last time. You made eye contact with him the second your mouth returned to spilling the mushroom, the tip of your tongue making the perfect circle before your lips slowly slid down his cock.
âShit, Y/nâ he moaned. The sensation of having his cock swallowed by your warm, soft lips was divine. Your tongue felt his vein fissures and your throat accommodating the glans when you reached the bottom. You slid his cock out once more, but without taking it out completely as you did the first time, establishing a rhythm so slow that Sunghoon might have thought he was being tortured.
The torture in your eyes fixed on his, with your mouth full of his cock as you moved your head up and down in a rhythm that you set yourself to suck it. Sunghoon knew â and anyone else in those conditions â that it would be impossible for you to say anything at that moment, so delighting in your mouth around his cock was the perfect moment. Sunghoon wrapped his already-tangled hair between his fingers, taking advantage of the ponytail hairstyle he'd done before so that he could hold onto you with one hand and the other wrapped around your jaw.
âYou're doing so good, babeâ Sunghoon said, his thumb caressing your cheek and spreading a little of your saliva that fell each time you took his cock deeper into your mouth until it touched your throat. He moaned your name every time you proved that your vomit reflex was in perfect condition. You took him so deep that Sunghoon knew he could come right there, in the warmth of your lips as he felt you speed up your movements.
He pressed his thumb against your jaw as you moved your mouth up and down his cock faster, your gaze never leaving Sunghoon's fucked face above you. Your name was said with each heavy breath and the moans he let out were like the most beautiful melody you could have heard in your life.
âI'm going to⌠Y/n, pleaseâŚâ Sunghoon didn't want to come so quickly, he didn't want to look so weak for a blowjob as well done as yours. And it seems that you didn't want him to come so soon either, because your mouth began to move slowly down his cock until it stopped completely. Your tongue makes the same circle around the head of his cock until you let go, again, with a pop.
How pornographic that sound could be when accompanied by Sunghoon's hoarse moan at the same moment. You knew your panties were wet enough just from the sounds and feel of his cock inside your mouth, but you didn't care anymore. Not when you also had to concentrate because your words weren't finished. You had a few more things to say to him. Before returning to Sunghoon's lap, you discarded your sticky, wet panties, almost in the same spot next to the bed where his clothes were, and it was only at that moment that you returned to your old spot â his lap.
âYou drive me crazy, you know that?â he was visibly stunned and you secretly liked that effect, the hint that he didn't want to see you had finally disappeared and now the faint smile Sunghoon was giving you was the perfect indication that he had your undivided attention.
âIn a good way?â you asked, your tone low and your hips hovering in the air so as not to touch your naked pussy to his cock just yet.
âIn the best of waysâ he said, tilting his head towards yours to capture your lips this time.
It was Sunghoon's turn to start the kiss a little less slowly than the two of you had shared so far. His hands held your face on either side and he could feel your jaw moving during the kiss as his thumbs made the perfect line to your chin. And you knew that this would be the perfect moment since Sunghoon's hands were busy holding your face, he wouldn't stop you.
You slid your hand between the two bodies and gripped his cock, taking advantage of the fact that your saliva would be the perfect combination of lubrication with how wet your pussy was. Then you simply slid the head of his cock between your folds, opting to tease him another time, and slid it in far enough until it found its entrance. It didn't take you long to slide his cock in effortlessly.
âFuck, shit. Iââ Sunghoon didn't have time to reason or even say anything to you when his cock was already completely inside your pussy. He wouldn't deny something like that, he wouldn't stop you, but feeling your pussy swallow his cock without any warning was one of the most delicious sensations he'd ever felt.
Sunghoon's hands left your face to grip your hips before you could start any movement. He didn't want to teach you anything, he wanted to let you guide yourself as you felt most comfortable, but he needed to feel the way you moved as well as have his cock inside you. So when you raised your hips for the first time and then lowered yourself in a not-so-slow movement, he tightened his fingers on your hips in response, moaning your name.
âSunghoonâ you moaned, but you wanted to call him out as you put your idea into action. He just grunted as he felt you move again on his lap, your pussy swallowing his cock so well that it was hard to say anything âI want you to unbutton my shirt while I talk to youâŚâ
âFuck, noâ he moaned as you went down on his cock again, a little faster this time.
He didn't want to deny it, but it was hard to concentrate. So Sunghoon knew he had to be guided, and you knew you had to do it when you took his hands and led them to the first button of your shirt.
âJust concentrate on that and my words.â
He wanted to ask if this was how you behaved when you were the boss of the company or when you had to deal with someone from your work or even your father. The authoritative yet cautious way you spoke to him made his cock twitch inside you. And he wondered how it was possible for you to keep your tone while resting your hands on his shoulder and forcing your legs up and down on his cock.
Sunghoon leaned his head back against the headboard, the moans becoming frequent and released without any pause. The sound of slapping skin as you began to hump faster, his pelvis meeting yours, and the wet, squishing sound of your pussy every time you swallowed him. His fingers were trembling as he managed to unbutton the first button, moving down to the second and losing himself for a moment when the walls of your pussy squeezed him tight.
âI'm not going to make it with you⌠squeezing me like thatâŚâ
âYou can do it, Hoonieâ he could have easily turned you against that mattress and fucked you so hard with his hooded provocations and authoritarian requests in that situation. But he didn't have the strength, let alone the courage, to disobey your requests while you slowed down your movements because you knew it was hard for him. Sunghoon managed to unbutton the second button and went down to the next one, his eyes slowly opening to look at you.
Your smile was angelic even in the position he was in and the way you were rubbing up against him. Now, going back and forth with your clit deliciously rubbing against his pelvis and, when you moved a little more, you could rub against his cock covered in all your essence before getting just the tip inside your hole and sliding it into you again. He didn't want to ask where you'd learned it or if you'd even practiced, maybe Sunghoon was lucky enough to have been the first to feel it because you were so horny that you tried out the wildest fantasies in your mind. And that's exactly what it was, but you'd never tell him.
âSunghoonâ you called him again when your rolls and movements became less intense. You still kept them up but in a more sensual way. You wanted to emphasize your words and let him finish the buttons on your shirt. He looked you in the eye, the shine in that gaze and the intense way in which Sunghoon stared at you was the certainty of everything you felt. You leaned forward, your slightly sweaty forehead touching his and your panting breaths mingling with each other âYou're the only one for me.â
âWhat?â he finished unbuttoning your shirt, given the circumstances of your slow movements. A respite for the poor man with a hard-on and his hard, aching cock being swallowed by your pussy.
Opening your shirt and revealing your bra, he didn't even bother to look at the lace or anything else, because your voice was the only thing he was concentrating on at that moment. The two of you kept staring at each other until you finally took off your shirt and took the opportunity to get rid of your bra, knowing that you had tortured Sunghoon enough to make him unbutton every button.
You pulled away from him to pull up his shirt, and he was quick to get the message and get completely naked, just as you were on top of him. You leaned your forehead against his again, your skin glistening against the light in the room and the sweat emanating from your shared activities.
âI don't want anyone but youâ you kissed his lips slowly, moving your hips back in the same way âI've never been with anyone but you andââ
Sunghoon knew it was enough, he knew he just needed that confirmation. Even if you'd been trying to say it all along and he was too stubborn â and jealous â to listen. He wanted to suffer in silence rather than listen to what you had to say. But after today and what you did, he could no longer have any doubts about the things that were happening.
Giving him all to reverse positions, pressing your back down on the mattress, and getting on top of you, Sunghoon lined his cock up in your pussy without wasting any time in being inside you again.
âSay it again,â he whispered as he began to thrust his cock into you. Sunghoon's face lined up on the curve of your neck as he thrust his cock into you at a slow but strong pace. The sound of his pelvis against your skin was enough to make you forget your words. Now you understood why he couldn't speak so perfectly when you were on top. It was hard to think of anything coherent while you felt his cock going deep inside you.
âI don't⌠Shitâ you moaned softly as his cock drove deep, hitting the perfect spot inside your warm walls and making your nails slide down his back. Sunghoon kissed your neck, smiling against your skin at the effect he caused just by slowly thrusting his cock into you. âI don't want anyone else but youâ saying it quickly hadn't been a mistake, not least because you knew that once he heard it, it would be enough to feel you faster.
And that's what happened. As if you knew him so well, Sunghoon raised his face to look at your every expression as he began to fuck his cock into your pussy. The fast, strong movements made your body sway beneath him and the overwhelming sound of your arousal coursed through his cock every time it moved in and out of you. Sunghoon rested one hand on the side of your body, the other gripped the headboard so tightly that his fingers might have hurt afterward from the force with which he held on. But it was all a consequence of all the sensations repressed while he fucked you as he pleased.
Sunghoon ignored the burning in your back caused by your nails in his skin, and he also ignored the fact that your thighs were squeezing him so tightly that, if it weren't for the speed with which he moved his hips against yours, you would surely have been able to stop him in a few moves. But he wouldn't give up, he wouldn't stop.
âI can't take it⌠I can'tâŚâ you pulled his face close to yours, mouths too close together.
âDo you want to cum?â he asked, your nod the only source of confirmation as you moaned his name against his lips.
Sunghoon nodded too, knowing he wasn't that far away from you as his cock throbbed inside your pussy. The way you sucked him so well was the perfect indication that he had to come right there to claim what was rightfully his. Your pussy and all of you.
He let you kiss him again, messy with drool, totally sloppy as he felt his hips stutter in their movements. You were getting more and more desperate and this was proven by the way your moans were swallowed by his lips and your pussy clenching him tightly.
It wasn't long before you came against his cock, the muscles in your pussy convulsing around his length. Without delay, Sunghoon knew you wouldn't be strong enough to take it, so he came straight away. The load of cum he poured into your pussy was hot and thick, every part of you squeezing him, milking his cock a little more until the last drop of cum he poured into you dried up.
Gasping and with your lips still pressed together, you gave one last loud sigh after moaning his name against his lips. Smiling along with Sunghoon as you both recovered a little from your rapid breathing.
He didn't want to open his eyes at that moment, afraid that everything would happen again. You and him having sex, and then Sunghoon found out that you were leaving for another country, and that made his heart hurt even more when he opened his eyes and didn't see you on the other side of the bed.
Sunghoon could have sworn he had hugged your waist the entire night after the two of you slept together, but you were no longer by his side. Again.
A lump formed in his throat at the thought that this was happening again, and even worse after you said everything you said. It wouldn't be indicative of anything if you spoke and still walked away like you did with him. Was that why you had asked him to believe you? So you could have another night together and now you're going to another country? Well, what would it be this time? It would have to be something further away than Switzerland because Sunghoon swore he could travel there after you again if that was the case.
Not wanting to think about it anymore, pushing away his blurred vision with a strong breath and trying not to focus on the tightness he was feeling in his chest, he stretched his hand beside the bed just to feel for his underwear and put them on, quickly leaving the room without paying attention to nothing else. It wouldn't be new for him to be left by you, but this time Sunghoon had to put an end to what he was feeling because he couldn't afford to be chased, to listen to you, to have sex with you, and then watch you leave. He couldn't allow that because Sunghoon would suffer every time, while he wouldn't know why you did all that.
He wanted not to think about those things, he wanted not to feel like crying as he walked around the apartment. But in vain, a tear had already fallen down his cheek and before Sunghoon even wiped it away, he almost felt his heart come out of his mouth when he found your figure in the kitchen.
You were wearing his t-shirt from the night before, and your eyes were focused on the small recipe book as you had some ingredients in front of you. With the sound of his footsteps, your attention was no longer on the words written by Sunghoon's grandfather in that worn notebook, but rather on the crying boy standing at the kitchen door.
âHey, Hoonieâ you would smile if it werenât for the sight of Sunghoonâs cloudy eyes and wet cheek. You quickly walked towards him and held the face of the man in front of you, wiping away the second tear that was about to fall down the middle of his cheek âWhat is it? What happened?"
He wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you into a tight hug and sniffling softly against your hair.
âI thought you were gone againâ he whimpered, letting a few more tears fall as he felt you hug him.
Relief would be best described in the middle of that hug, over any feeling Sunghoon swore he felt after waking up. He felt your lips kiss his bare shoulder and then slowly slide down his arms until you faced him.
âIâm not going anywhere anymoreâ you smiled, kissing him on the lips âAnd thatâs why we need to talk.â
âFor real now, right? Without my dick inside you?â
âSunghoon!â you slapped his arm as you walked away, hearing the boy's captivating and welcoming laugh.
He noticed you were making his grandfather's famous coffee, or trying to replicate the little details. Just like he did that day in your apartment. The nostalgic moment brings him back to the day you told him you were in love with him. You revealed your feelings and let him say them too.
As you went back to preparing coffee, you felt Sunghoon's arms wrap around your waist and hug you from behind. He rested his face on your shoulder to pay attention while you concentrated there.
âI think I'm ready to listen to you nowâ he said as calmly as if he hadn't been almost desperate minutes before.
He also wouldn't say that he thought about traveling to another country if the scenario repeated itself. Maybe you thought he was crazy, or not so much because you knew Sunghoon enough to know that he would be capable of that since his first feeling was denial that you came back this time. Now all he had to do was go after it if it happened. What he wouldn't do and you would say so clearly to him.
âYou were right when you said that my Dad tried to set me up with a partnerâs son and everythingâŚâ Sunghoon knew there was no way to hide the tightening of his muscles, the arms around your waist tightening a little more and the jaw resting on your shoulder becoming harder as he listened to you. You knew this would happen, so you had to be quick in your explanations âThatâs very much a movie scene, isnât it?â
"What?" he asked, trying to ignore the amusement in your tone. This wasn't fun at all, why were you making it out to be?
âThe Dad trying to arrange a marriage for his daughter and the heiress of his companyâ you laughed softly as you poured some coffee powder into the machine, focusing on the mixture of sugar and cinnamon that was described on the sheet on the other side of the counter âBut my life itâs not a movie.â
"What do you mean by that?" Sunghoon was visibly confused, his hands resting against your stomach.
âI mean thatââ you stopped yourself, hearing the coffee machine start to make noise as it prepared the liquid that the two of you would drink right away. Turning around in Sunghoon's arms, your hands finally palmed his bare chest. âMy father tried to control this in my life, but he couldn't. And thatâs why I went to Switzerland.â
If he was confused before, he was even more so now. And as he listened to you calmly, everything, even though it made sense, left him shocked.
Sunghoon knew that your father always tried to control everything in your life, and it was one of the biggest reasons why you always vented to him. Having someone control almost everything for you was extremely annoying, a tremendous invasion of privacy. But as soon as you learned that your father wanted to make you marry his business partner's son, it sounded like a ridiculous joke to you. It was a movie you could see with Stella at a movie theater as they discussed how life tried to imitate art, but not when you objected to it.
âThat night I showed up at your bar crying, it was because I decided to leave for Switzerland without anyone knowing. I wanted to escape yet another choice in my life made by my fatherâ you sighed slowly, Sunghoon's fingers caressing your waist through your â his â t-shirt. You felt his lips slowly against the top of your head and you smiled because they remained there âOnly you knew through that letter. I didnât even tell Stella, but⌠I knew you would show her and the boys, so it was okay because I trust you all.â
He moved his lips from your head to your forehead, breathing deeply against your skin. Now that things were starting to make sense, Sunghoon swore he felt even more angry towards your father.
âThis trip was to organize my mind on how I would face my father in this situation because it wasn't easy to make him change his mindâ you sighed âWell, you heard it on the phone that day.â
âUnfortunatelyâ he whispered, not wanting to interrupt you even if you wanted to hear him.
The noise of the coffee machine interrupted your thoughts for a brief moment, then you turned back in his arms to pour a good amount into the two cups in front of you. Sunghoon slid his arms around your waist again, still hugging you and not wanting to let go so soon.
âI came back because I decided to lead my own life, I didn't want him to do that for me anymoreâ preparing the coffee was done with a shaking hand because you felt like crying every time you thought about the fights against your father.
The harsh words he said to you while you refused to follow what he wanted for you. Of all the years he was in control of your life, it was time for things to change. You felt a feather-light kiss that Sunghoon placed on your shoulder when you signaled that the coffee was ready. He picked up the cup and walked to the other side of the counter so he was facing you.
âAnd also because I resigned from his company because he simply said I couldnât get married when I was already committed to someone else.â
He almost spat out his coffee when he heard it come out of your mouth so nonchalantly. Those new attitudes from such a carefree Y/n were not something Sunghoon was used to, especially after you gave an innocent smile as if you hadn't said the craziest thing out loud.
"You're kidding, right?" he tried to catch his breath after coughing a few times, resting the cup on the kitchen counter âY/n, you canât do this.â
âI can and I did, Sunghoonâ you smiled with your lips against your cup as you sipped your hot coffee âI talked about being in love with you since university, that I didn't want to be the boss of that shit company anymore and that I quit because I simply I wanted to have control of my own life and do what I wanted.â
As much as it was something he wanted to hear at all costs, Sunghoon couldn't be selfish enough to let you miss out on things because part of you had told your father about your feelings for him.
âDid you tell him about me?â Sunghoon asked, seeing you nod as you drank more coffee.
Possibly your father had cursed Sunghoon the moment he heard you say that he owned a bar and not the owner of a company. He knew this should have happened.
âWhy are you looking at me like that?â your voice took him away from his thoughts for a while, he picked up the cup of coffee again, looking at the dark liquid now, trying not to focus on your intense gaze.
âYou canât just give up your life for your feelings, Y/n.â
âYou mean the money?â he didn't see the eye roll you gave, otherwise he would scold you for it and continue saying how wrong you were for doing those things.
âI mean thatââ
It hurt Sunghoon to have to think, and to be about to say that out loud. But just as you were being sincere, he could tell you what he thought too. It wouldn't be a judgment on his part and he hoped you wouldn't be offended, especially because he also had the right to think that way.
âThe guy your father wants you to be with has money and a good lifeâ he bit the tip of his tongue at the thought of another man being with you. Even if it was to make his father happy, Sunghoon just couldn't do it. âHe's from your world, Y/n.â
"My world?" your shaky voice made him look up from the coffee to your face. You looked strangely sad, and he didn't want you to feel that. You should be happy, maybe, Sunghoon also didn't know what to think anymore.
âYeah, he has money, I donâtâ Sunghoon took a big sip of coffee âWeâre from two different worlds, you know?â
âNoâ you replied quickly, the thud of the cup against the counter on the other side made Sunghoon shrug his shoulders momentarily.
"Why not?" he placed the cup back, walking around the counter ever so slowly to get closer to you again. He wanted to touch you and you would possibly hit him because of the way you were looking at him. He didn't want to see you like this either, but he risked pulling you against him and bringing your face closer to his.
âBecause I donât want a world where youâre not in it, Park Sunghoonâ your pout dismantled him at that moment, matching the shape of your words âYou are my world.â
Fuck your father's opinion and thoughts and Sunghoon's pride in trying to think that you should follow another path. He wouldn't be stupid enough to push you onto someone else, not when you were there, openly saying that you gave up a lot of things because of him. Much of it was because of you and your wishes, but if that included Sunghoon, he wouldn't waste it.
Sunghoon kissed you so slowly, feeling the taste of the freshly drunk coffee and your warm lips against his. Your hands quickly went to his hair and Sunghoon hugged you so tight, afraid you would run away and believe his words from minutes ago. Fuck money, fuck everything. You said he was your world, and he wanted to be your world just like you were his.
âI love youâ Sunghoon whispered after kissing you, his lips still hovering over yours âI love you so much I donât want you to leave.â
âI love you so much moreâ you whispered back, snuggling into his arms as you felt Sunghoonâs heartbeat against your chest as you felt him hold you in that hug. âAnd Iâm not going anywhere without you now.â
âPromise?â
âI promiseâ you kissed his lips once again, and Sunghoon could scream with happiness to finally have you in his arms.
Being able to wake up every morning and feel your body on the other side of the bed with the certainty that you wouldn't leave. He knew he would have to face your father sooner or later, but he also knew that your request the night before to believe in you was what was worth it. Sunghoon would believe in you at all times because being together with you, nothing else mattered.
âBy the wayâ you smiled slowly when he began to undo his arms around your body, moving away so he could return to the other side of the counter and drink the rest of the coffee. He would prepare food afterward because the drink alone wouldn't be enough.
âSay it, loveâ he encouraged you when he didnât hear you continue. Raising an eyebrow at you as he brought the cup to his lips to finish the contents and pay attention to what you had to say.
âIs there space at your bar? I donât want to be without work.â
Sunghoon truly laughed as he walked back behind you, leaning down enough to place the cup into the sink. He wouldn't imagine someone like you working in his crazy bar, not when you didn't behave like the people who worked there. Not even Stella would work there.
âMaybe you should ask Stella for help with this, babyâ Sunghoon kissed the side of your neck, causing a slight shiver to run across your skin âI donât want you to work in my bar because I know the type of customers I have there.â
"Jealous?" you joked.
"Jealous of you? Definitelyâ he nibbled your skin, watching you shiver even more.
Continued to laugh at your reaction and your protests about being a good employee, maybe even better than his three best friends. You could team up with Stella and attract more clientele to the bar, even if the establishment doesn't need it. It was Sunghoon's turn to feel a shiver run down his spine at the idea of ââmen staring at you or trying to flirt with you, just like he saw them doing with any girl who frequented his bar. Now that the two of you were together, he knew that being jealous was nothing compared to what he would experience with you.
But if it was the same way he was being, laughing at your protests, receiving your kisses as he scooped up the pancake batter, and listening to you grumble about wanting to work with Stella now, he would love to live by her side. Because you were his world, just like he was his.

A break - L. Hughes
masterlist pairing: Luke Hughes x girlfriend!reader summary: Luke announced that he's going back home for the break, assuming that you're working anyways but he doesn't know that you took week off from work to spend time with him warning: argument, misunderstanding note: ahh, i didn't write anything for the past month because i've been doubting my writing skills, let me know what do you think! feedback is always welcomeđ
---
You picked up Luke when he returned from Montreal. It was the last game before a national team break. Since he didn't get called up, you thought that the two of you would spend a whole week together. When the two of you returned to the apartment, you noticed that heâs packing his suitcase. This looked suspicious because he didn't mention going anywhere.
âUmm⌠What are you doing?â You asked Luke. He closed the gap between the two of you and kissed your forehead.
âIâm packing because tomorrowâ morning I have a flight back home. Since itâs my free week, I want to spend some time with friends and family back in Michiganâ He said casually and returned to packing.Â
âOh⌠You didnât say anything earlierâ You replied trying to cover hurt in your voice.Â
âI didnât plan it honestly but I talked with boys and theyâre also going back to Michigan and weâre having a little reunion. You have work anyways so I didnât bother you with thisâÂ
âSo you just decided to leave without saying anything? Very kind of youâ You said with sarcasm. Luke sighed loudly.
âLook, itâs not a big deal, you have work so I donât see a point in sitting here bored and waiting for you to return every single day, I think I can see my friends or are you gonna act possessive now?â You couldnât believe in his words.Â
âIâm not gonna act possessive but it would be nice to know about it earlierâÂ
âWell, I booked the plane ticket this morning so deal with itâ Luke said nonchalantly and you could feel the anger boiling inside of you. Instead of arguing with him, you decided to drop it.
âWhateverâŚâ You turned to go to the bathroom before you spoke again. âAnd for your information, I took a week off from work so we can spend time togetherâ With that, you closed the bathroom door louder than you should.Â
âWell if you would have told me this earlier, I would stayâ Luke screamed so you could hear him. You rolled your eyes and started preparing a bath for yourself. You needed to rest and rethink what just happened.
In your opinion, you did nothing wrong and Luke is guilty. You wanted to spend time with him since he doesnât have training and games and he decided to leave you. Even worse is that he didnât bother to invite you to go to Michigan with him, knowing that youâre not working and heâs blaming you for this whole mess. You laid in the bath longer than usual because you didnât want to face him.Â
Luke didnât see a problem in his decision to go back home. Itâs his free week and he can do whatever he wants. Heâs seeing you every single day and he has a full right to go and see his family and friends. In fact, he thinks that itâs all your fault. If you told him earlier that you took a week off from work, he would stay in New Jersey. He returned to packing, not even bothered that youâre sitting in the bathroom for the second hour.Â
You left the bathroom, still mad at him and ignored his presence. Luke did the same. The minute you left the bathroom, he went in to take a shower. You went to the kitchen to eat something before going to sleep. You prepared yourself macânâcheese and didnât even bother to make one for him. You knew itâs petty but in your thinking, he deserves it.Â
You returned to the bedroom and went straight to bed. You saw that Luke is still in the bathroom and sighed deeply. You didnât want to argue with him over something so silly but at the same time, you didnât want to admit that heâs right and has full right to go and see his family and friends. You closed your eyes and tried to get some sleep. Luke left the bathroom and saw that youâre facing the window and even when he knew that youâre not sleeping, he decided to play your game. Without a word, he laid in the bed and fell asleep.
The next morning you woke up and saw that thereâs an empty spot in your bed and the whole apartment is quiet. You stepped out to go and make yourself a cup of tea and notice that Luke left. You send him a quick message.Â
Very mature to leave without even bothering to say bye
Have fun in Michigan and hope you wonât return to an empty apartment :)
You were well aware that youâre overreacting but you couldnât help. You were mad over this whole situation. You drank your tea and decided to get ready for the day. You called your friend to meet up with her. That was the last time you checked your phone for the day. Since Luke left you, you didnât want to have contact with him or anyone else and thought that maybe the break would be nice for the two of you to figure things out. You left your phone at home and decided to enjoy the day with your friend.Â
Luke read your messages and laughed. He knew how petty you can get so he wasnât even bothered by it. He blocked his phone and returned to the conversation he had with his mom and dad.Â
âWhatâs so funny?â His dad asked.Â
âMe and Y/N had an argument yesterday and she sent me a text that I should hope that sheâll be in the apartment when I returnâ He chuckled.Â
âThat sounds serious Luke, what was the argument about?â Now his mum asked.
âOh, itâs nothing. Sheâs just mad that I flew to Michigan for my break and didnât told her earlier, later she said something about taking week off from work, thinking that I would be feeling guiltyâ Luke shruggedÂ
âIf she has a free week, why didnât you bring her with you here?â His dad questioned and the realisation hit Luke. He didnât even think about this scenario. He left you alone in New Jersey. His face lost all the colors when he realised it. His mum quickly noticed this.
âYou didnât ask her. You didnât even think about inviting her hereâ His mom said and he nodded ashamed of the situation. Luke knew that he messed up real good now.Â
âI need to call herâ He excused himself and went to his bedroom. He called you 5 times but he couldnât reach you. All the bad scenarios were going through his head.Â
What if you really left him?
Luke knew he had to do something about it. He returned to the living room and asked.
âMum, can I use your phone?â Without a doubt, his mum gave him her phone and Luke tried to call you. Again, he couldnât reach you. âI think I need to get back and save my relationshipâ Luke replied and left again.
Luke booked a flight for tomorrowâ morning and prayed to see you there when he gets back to the apartment. He started to think about the argument you two had and he knew that he was the one whoâs wrong. He should invite you when you told him that you took a week off to spend time with him.Â
âEverything is going to be fine between the two of you. Y/N loves you too much to break up with you over this misunderstandingâ His mum said standing in the entry to his bedroom. She could tell that his youngest son is scared that he might lose the love of his life.Â
âI really hope for it. Iâm scared mumâ He sighed and closed the laptop.Â
Around 9PM, you finally got back home. You spent a wonderful day with your friend where you drank overpriced coffee, ate the best carbonara that you could find in New Jersey and had a couple drinks. You went straight to the bathroom to take a shower and lay in your bed. You needed sleep after all the adventures you had today. Because you left your phone in the kitchen in the morning, you forgot to check it when you returned. It was your worry for tomorrow, today was all about you.
The next day when you woke up, you went straight to the kitchen. You grabbed your phone and saw 30 missed calls from Luke, 10 from his mother and over 100 messages from his whole family. You started feeling guilty and bad that you ignored them and quickly tried to call back to Luke. He didnât answer the phone and you felt that itâs over between the two of you. Fact that you left your phone at home yesterday was his final straw and heâs gonna break up with you.Â
Tears were falling from your eyes while you were making tea and didnât even hear that someone entered the apartment. You were too deep in your head thinking about what are you gonna do. You and Luke had been together for the past 5 years and now itâs over.Â
Luke entered the house and the first thing he heard was you crying. At first he sighed, relieved that youâre at home but then he realised that youâre crying. Quickly he dropped his suitcase and ran to hug you. You screamed in panic but then you recognized the strong grip.Â
âDonât cry, please donât cryâ Luke tried to calm you down and it was working. He was smothering your hair, whispering sweet things into your ear. When you finally cooled down, you spoke.
âWhat are you doing here? I thought youâre in Michiganâ You wiped your cheeks and looked at him.
âI was but my parents made me realise that I messed up. I tried to reach you but you didnât answer your phone so I decided to return and sort things out between us. I donât want you to think that Iâm choosing my friends over you. Iâll always choose youâ Luke looked deeply into your eyes while he said the last sentence.Â
âSorry that I didnât answer the phone calls from you. I left my phone at home yesterday when I went out and after I got back home, I completely forgot to check it. I did it this morning and tried to call you but you didnât pick up and I thought that youâre breaking up with meâ You hugged him and he kissed the top of your head.Â
âI would never break up with you. I didnât answer because I was already under the building apartmentâ Luke kissed your head again. âSorry for all the misunderstanding, I should tell you about me leaving for Michigan when IâŚâÂ
âStop. You have nothing to apologise for. I was wrong for being mad that you want to spend time with your family and friends. It was a bad call and I deeply regret it. Sorry for ruining your free week and that you couldnât spend time with themâÂ
âWe both messed up but thatâs why we love each other right?â Luke joked and you giggled.
âTrue. I love you Lukeâ You tiptoed and kissed his lips.Â
âHow about I'll take you on a nice dinner today and youâll tell me about yesterday?â He smiled at you.
âOkay and sorry again for ruining your trip. That was the last thing I wanted to doâ You felt guilty for this whole mess and it was bothering you that he dropped everything just to see if everythingâs alright between the two of you.Â
âEverythingâs fine baby. As long as weâre good, it was worth itâ Luke smiled at you and you hugged him again.

Hey! Love your writing and love Flux!! I was hoping to request a kind of angsty/fluffy fic with the worst!wolverine where the meet her in the void and maybe Logan knew her just not very well and heâs finally letting himself open up and be close with her (likewise with reader/flux towards logan) and they get into an argument or maybe logan has a nightmare and he ends up stabbing her with his claws and maybe the aftermath of him beating himself up and sabotaging the new relationship until reader finally snaps him out of it and says it was an accident and she still loves him?? Thanks!!
mistake
Logan Howlett x fem!reader
a/n: I want to thank you for this request because I've been having the worst writer's block in the world. I was worried about having to go into another unofficial hiatus, but this made something in my brain click together and I knocked it out in two hours. my life is yours đđ Summary: You know him. Or, you knew him. And you never blamed him for what happened in your world. It wasn't his fault that everyone you loved died and you barely escaped with your life. But you never actually thought you'd have to see him again. You don't know what to do when all these feelings resurface with his appearance.
No one truly knew who you were back in your universe. After the horrific incident at the mansion, you had run. Youâd run as fast and as far as you could from the slaughter of your friends. Youâd barely escaped with your life, and from the amount of blood and gore theyâd left behind, most people just assumed you were dead.Â
Itâs not like anyone cared about you. Scott, Ororo, and Jean had been the real heroes. But it didnât matter because they were still mutants at the end of the day. It didnât matter how many people they saved. How many lives they positively changed, no one would ever see past the fact that they were mutants.Â
Being one of the newer members of the recently disbanded X-Men gave you enough anonymity to get through daily life without being recognized. It did not, however, protect you from being sucked into the shit fest that is the multiverse.Â
Youâre not sure what it is about you that just attracts bad luck. You donât know if itâs some hidden power thatâs a part of your evolution. Youâre just apparently perpetually fucked. The TVA had determined that you were interfering with the proper flow of your timeline or some bullshit.Â
Now youâre here. Stuck in the void with nothing but decay and drunk former superheroes. If you have to watch one more Captain America ârally the troopsâ youâre gonna kill him yourself. Youâve considered switching teams and joining Cassandra Nova at times. If only so you donât have to deal with Johnny Storm and the rest of the dipshits.Â
You get along with Laura, at least. She likes to tell you about her Logan and you like to dodge her questions about yours. She doesnât need to know that not every version of Wolverine has a golden heart and story worthy of tears. Yours was a fuck up, plain and simple, but you never thought the incident was his fault.Â
As much as others tried to push the blame on him. The people who raided the mansion were determined. There was no other way that day was going to end up. Youâd just have one less X-Man. But people always love a martyr more than a victim.Â
After a couple of years, you get used to the monotony. Your days are only occasionally broken up by dodging Cassandraâs henchmen and trying not to get sucked up into the soul destroyer. Other than that, you spend your nights getting drunk with Gambit and pretending you know whatever the fuck heâs talking about.Â
âLaura! I managed to find some chocolate!â You run into the hideout looking for the girl. Itâs rare to find good food that isnât already a month past its expiration date. You werenât planning on sharing the candy with her but you figured sheâd smell it on you and itâs not worth the fight.Â
Instead, you stop short as the familiar blue and yellow uniform youâd always try to force on him comes into view. Heâs stealing Gambitâs liquor and you know thatâs not going to go over well. What you donât know is why you are so sure that this is your Wolverine.Â
Youâve never had a Wolverine in the void. Not once. This could be any one of the hundreds of thousands of variants. But you see that look in his eye. That familiar watery gaze shows just how much he hurts, even if he doesnât want to admit it.Â
âLogan?â You breathe his name out in disbelief. Bypassing the Deadpool standing nearby. Youâve dealt with enough of those in your time down here. He takes a step back, fixing you with a distrusting look.Â
He keeps the bottle of alcohol clutched close to his chest like he thinks youâre going to take it. You track the movement and you scoff. âRight,â you shake your head and stop short. âOf course, the only thing you care about is still getting fucking drunk.â
He glares at you, taking a step forward like he thinks it might actually intimidate you. âDo I know you, bub?â He reaches forward, probably to jab his finger in your chest. You drop your gaze to his outstretched hand and narrow your eyes.Â
The material of his suit fluctuates, pulling back and rippling over his arms like liquid and not spandex. He doesnât notice the manipulation of matter until it's his skin you target. It melts off his adamantium bones and he stares down in horror.Â
You know he's scared because heâs watching his body dissolve but heâs not feeling any pain. You could make it hurt, but thatâs not what you want. You just want to see if heâll remember you now. If thereâs anything half-decent left in that alcohol-rotted brain of his.
âFlux,â he grits your X-Man name out through his teeth like it hurts him to say it.Â
You nod and his skin and suit go back to normal, like youâd never tampered with it in the first place. âYou do remember me, then?â
âThought you fucking died with the rest of them.â Your face drops before you feel an astonished smile on your face.Â
âYou know, itâs a comfort to know nothing about my world has changed. Youâre still the same spineless dick that left us all to die.â You shake your head and storm out of the hideout. You donât know how long theyâre planning on staying but you pray they leave soon. If you have to deal with him longer than a week, youâll just kill him.Â
You step outside just as Lauraâs coming back from the bonfire. She greets you with a stiff smile and you wonder whatâs got in her in a mood. It only takes a glance over her shoulder to find the reason.
Logan is sulking by the fire, nursing yet another bottle of whiskey. Heâs drinking it like water and even with his healing, his liver should have turned to mush by now. âI can see why you didnât tell me about him,â she mutters as she passes by you.Â
You know she tried to be quiet but you can see the way Loganâs head tilts slightly towards you. Heâs heard her and you know it has to sting just a little.
You glance down at the leaves under your feet, eyes glazing over as you feel the guilt sink into your stomach. You shouldnât feel bad, you didnât do anything wrong. You didnât hurt him, technically, just reminded him who you were. But you still feel bad for what you said.Â
Youâve never blamed Logan for what happened. And if you did, you would be a hypocrite. Because you survived too, and you left them all behind. You ran like a coward. You could never blame him when you failed to save them just the same.Â
You take in a deep breath and steel yourself. Youâll just apologize, walk over there, and explain to him you didnât mean what you said. You know heâll be a dick about it. Claiming he doesnât want your apology. Youâll just leave him alone after.Â
Youâre about to step forward when he barks out a gruff command, âDonât fucking stare at me like that. I donât want your company.â He turns back to the fire and takes another swig from his bottle.Â
You roll your eyes and walk towards him. âYou can be as miserable and self-pitying as you want, just let me say one thing.â
His head whips towards you so quickly youâre surprised you donât hear it snap. âIâm not fucking pitying myself,â he grits out. You quirk your brows in amusement, glancing towards the bottle in his hand and the clear way heâs sulking. He turns his attention back towards the fire, intent on ignoring you again.Â
âI donât blame you for what happened,â you tell him. You ignore the warning look he shoots you, taking a seat beside him even if he doesnât want you to. âI-â you choke on the words, struggling to admit to yourself what youâve never wanted to.Â
âDonât.â You know itâs meant to be a warning. But when you look at him and see how completely broken he is, it sounds more like a pathetic plead.Â
But you need to say this. As selfish as it is, you need to say this to someone., Need to unload this guilt youâve carried for so long. âI was there, Logan. I could have saved them and I didnât. I fucking ran.â
âKid, donât do this-â
âJean was still moving,â you blurt out. You feel the way your heart speeds up at the admission. Your fingers shake and the air around you stills.Â
His face drops and he slowly turns towards you. Youâre afraid to look at him. You feel like a bunny staring down the snout of a wolf, thereâs no escaping this. Youâve created this trap for yourself.Â
âWhat?â He demands. His voice has lost that tremor of vulnerability. Instead, he sounds like he did when he first found out what had happened to you all. That same deadly level of calm that makes you want to bolt again.Â
âShe,â you stare into the fire until your eyes burn. You donât know if itâs from the light or the smoke but the pain focuses you. âShe was shaking on the floor. There was blood everywhere and she could barely breathe. They had gassed us with something. None of us could use our powers, itâs the only reason they got a one-up on us.â
You can feel yourself slipping back into that moment. You feel the warmth of the blood on your skin. It seeps into your suit and makes the material cling to you. Your gut is split open and the only thing holding your intestines in is your hands.Â
Jean is in front of you. Her hands are twitching by her sides. Thereâs blood pouring out of her lips, dribbling down her tongue and cheeks. Every breath is a rattle so deep you feel it in your bones.Â
Each inhale sounds like someone dragging glass through the membrane of her lungs. Her chest rises and sinks shallowly as she gasps for air. Sheâs practically convulsing, eyes twitching every which way.
The gas has faded from the halls. The people have left, satisfied with the carnage. Youâre alone, surrounded only by the blood and bodies of your friends. None of the others are moving. Some of them are so mangled you canât even tell who they are anymore.Â
Jeanâs eyes lock onto yours. The only anchor she has. And you can see it, the frantic, wounded animal gaze on her face. She knows sheâs dying. She knows thereâs nothing she can do about it.Â
You can only stand by and watch as your friend dies. You could be her comfort. You could be the last face she sees before she dies, distracting her from the sight of her dead fiancee behind her.Â
But what do you do?
You hold your guts in your stomach and you run. You canât look at her. You canât look at any of them. You can hear her croaking behind you. And even when youâre out of the mansion, when youâre in a hospital somewhere getting repaired and Loganâs on a rampage, you still hear her.Â
You feel something heavy on your arm and itâs like you're being forcibly dragged out of a trance. Loganâs looking at you with something youâve never seen before. But itâs something youâve always desperately craved.Â
Itâs like heâs seeing you, really seeing you. For the first time in a long time, you feel that ache of guilt ease away ever so slightly. It doesnât disappear, but youâre sharing the burden with someone else and itâs a relief youâve desperately craved.Â
âYouâre not a bad person for leaving, kid.â He swallows roughly and you place your hand over his. He doesnât look completely comfortable with the touch, slightly flinching away from it, but he doesnât move. âIf you hadnât, you would be dead.â
You squeeze his hand, forcing him to meet your gaze. âI never blamed you for what happened.â emotion is so thick on your tongue and in your throat that the words come out a whisper. âTheir deaths werenât your fault, and what happened after wasnât.â
He clenches his eyes shut and jerks his hand out of your grip. You sigh, knowing youâve lost him. âI slaughtered them.â
You scoff, âThey slaughtered us!â You nearly shout, anger bubbling hot in your gut. When you heard about him killing those who had hunted down your friends, youâd celebrated. And when you heard the way the public was crucifying him, you realized that no matter what you did they would never love you.Â
You would always be nothing more than a mutant to them.Â
âAnd the people who didnât hurt them? The innocents I killed?âÂ
You donât have anything to say to that. You just stand up, placing a hand on his shoulder as you pass by him. âI never blamed you, Logan.â
You donât see Logan again after that. At least, not while youâre in the void. What was left of your little resistance was sucked up into the purple cloud of death. Only you and Laura are left with the carnage.Â
Logan and Wade have disappeared to who knows where. It stings, to be on your own again. Sure, you have Laura, but sheâll never understand the pain of what happened to your universe.Â
As much as it hurt, at least with Logan, you had someone to share the pain with. You could share your burden with him. You feel lonely and cold. Like thereâs a part of you missing. You finally figure out what that ache is when the TVA comes to collect you and you see him again.Â
Heâs standing behind Wade as he enthusiastically tells you and Larua all about his world. But you canât take your eyes off Logan, or the tentative smile on his face. Whatever had happened during that fight with Cassandra Nova had changed him, for the better.Â
You smile back at him and it feels like taking a breath of fresh air after years.Â
Apparently, whoever this worldâs Flux had been, she was fucking insanely rich. And dead, which sucked for her but was great for you and Logan.Â
Itâs not hard for you to fake some government identities and explain that youâd been mistakenly marked as dead. Itâs apparently pretty common in this universe. Superheroes are blipped out of existence all the time. You couldnât get all of her assets as some had been liquidated, but you did get her giant ass house.Â
You let Logan and Laura stay with you until they decide where they want to go. Itâs better than living with Wade and his coke-fiend roommate. Laura finds her groove pretty quickly, it is her world after all. But you and Logan struggle to figure out what to do with yourselves.Â
Neither of you has an interest in being X-Men again, and it seems like theyâre not incredibly present in this world either. You also hadnât been the best of friends, even before everything went wrong, back home.Â
Youâre not strangers, youâre not friends, youâre that awkward place in between. Each day is another opportunity to get to know each other. The progress might be slow, but you know that youâre getting closer to something real.Â
Itâs why you donât feel any qualms about running into his room when you hear him shouting. You burst into his room and the door slamming against the wall isnât even enough to wake him up.Â
Heâs writhing around in the bed, sheets twisted around his waist while sweat beads down his forehead. The noises heâs making remind you of a wounded animal. Thereâs something heartbreaking about this.Â
He doesnât get peace even when heâs sleeping. It makes you hurt for him. You want to smooth over the aches and pains he carries and burden yourself with them.Â
The thought snaps you out of your reverie and youâre shocked by the revelation. Youâd been growing closer to him, but you hadnât thought you were growing this close. You feel so strongly for him, but youâre not ready to put a name on what it is that you feel for him. You just know that right now you want to make him feel better.Â
You approach the bed cautiously, taking a seat beside him. The bed ripples and jolts underneath you as he tosses and turns. You place a gentle hand on his arm and shake, âLogan,â you whisper. You donât want to startle him too bad.Â
But heâs not responding to anything. It doesnât matter how much you shake him or call out his name. Finally, you canât handle it anymore. You get on your knees, sitting over him and bringing your palm down across his face as hard as you can.Â
In a second heâs shooting up. You donât even notice his hand until you see the way his vision clears. The visceral panic fades and something is aching in your gut. âOh god, no no no,â he says the word so many times it stops sounding real.Â
You look down and see the blood dribbling down his palm, the claws buried in your stomach. Itâs almost funny, how perfectly aligned they are with the scar that already lived there. The reminder of your friendâs death being erased and reformed by Loganâs hand.Â
He pulls his wrist back and you quickly snatch it up. âDonât!â You shout, jaw clenching against the pain. âDonât pull them out, Iâll just bleed out.â
âWhat the fuck am I supposed to do?â You know heâs worried, thatâs why he snaps at you. But it doesnât help the way you feel yourself fighting back tears.
He sees them drip down your cheeks and his face drops. His other hand, the one not in you, comes up and cradles your cheek. âWhat do I do?â He whispers, and he sounds more desperate than you do.Â
You know he doesnât want another death on his hands. But thereâs something beyond that. He doesnât want to be the reason you stop breathing. Thereâs a startling clarity when youâre slowly dying.Â
He cares about you. Just as deeply as you do for him. You canât make him go through this pain again. Canât let him suffer alone, not when heâs made so much progress. âSlowly,â you tell him, guiding his claws out inch by inch.Â
Itâs hard not to black out. Youâd barely felt it when heâd gotten you the first time. You think itâs because of how fast and sudden it was. But this, having them oh so slowly slicing through your insides is the worst form of torture.Â
But you donât heal like him. You have to close your eyes, focus on the pain, and forcibly reknit your skin back together. Itâs a clever manipulation of your powers, but itâs a slow one. You could never take serious damage on the field because you wouldnât be fast enough to repair yourself.Â
This is easy to repair. But that doesnât make it hurt less. It feels like an hour before he can safely draw them the rest of the way out. The second he does, youâre sinking into his arms with a pained sob.Â
He clutches you so tightly to his chest you worry your back might snap. He keeps muttering apologies into your hair, hands desperately grasping at every inch of you he can hold. Youâre too tired to say anything.Â
You realized you should have. You should have told him you donât blame him. You were the one who snuck into his room. You should have been smarter. But it doesnât matter how many times you tell Logan not to blame himself, he always will. And you were too tired to try anyway.Â
You only realize whatâs happening two days after the incident. You figured he might need some space to process what happened. And honestly, you did too. It was awful and incredibly draining. Youâve felt fatigued ever since.Â
But when you try and approach him and he just brushes past you like you werenât even there, you know something is wrong. You watch his retreating back with a disturbed glare. You connect the dots quickly, already knowing what heâs doing.Â
He doesnât want to be responsible for hurting another person he loves. He canât handle a loss like that again, even if itâs not by his hands. He wants to make sure you donât want him, that you donât care for him. Like that might ease the pain and guilt.Â
But it wouldnât. It would just make him feel worse. It would make you feel worse.Â
You donât waste a second, following him up the stairs and barging into his room before he can slam the door shut. It bounces off the wall and he lets out a deeply irritated sigh. He doesnât turn to look at you, just walks over to his nightstand and rummages around through the doors.
You know heâs not looking for anything. Heâs just trying to ignore you long enough for you to give up. Itâs not going to happen, he should know better.Â
You take a step further into the room and the smell of chemicals slams into you. Your nose wrinkles in disgust. It smells like he pumped Lysol into the vents. Your eyes dart to the bed and you sigh.Â
Your blood, youâd completely forgotten. He must have been cleaning it up the morning after. You canât blame him for wanting to get rid of the remainder. But this seems excessive.Â
âStrong nose,â he mutters. You hadnât realized youâd spoken aloud and you glanced over at him. âI can still smell it, even after cleaning.â He takes a seat on the bed and you hate the way his shoulders are slumped.Â
Heâd seemed so much more comfortable with himself lately. Itâs like one accident has undone all his progress. âLogan,â you start, taking a step towards him. He holds his hand up, still not looking at you.Â
Itâs driving you insane. You wish he would just meet your eyes. You feel like you could change his mind if he would just see you. Maybe thatâs why he wonât. He wonât let himself be happy.Â
âLook, that night just made me realize what a huge fucking mistake this was.â He gets up and slides something out from under the bed. It takes a moment for you to register what it is. A duffel bag, packed with all his essentials and what little clothes he owns.Â
Heâs going to leave.
You act without thinking. Pure panic making your powers surge out. Logan grunts and the bag falls out of his hand. âQuit it,â he snipes, bending over to pick it up. But he canât because itâs so heavy itâs making the wooden floor splinter and crack under its weight.Â
âYou donât get to just leave when things get hard, Logan.â
He stands up, hands propped on his sides. Thereâs a challenge in his eyes that makes you nervous. âFuck this,â he scoffs and brushes past you.Â
Itâs beyond manipulative to use your powers against him. But sometimes, someone is such a fucking idiot, they need a little outside help. You slam the door closed and the handle disappears, locking you both in his room.Â
He turns towards you with a fierce glare on his face. âOpen the goddamn door before I break it down.â
âYou can try,â you taunt, a nasty tone to your voice. Youâre sick of this. Youâre sick of running from what you want. Youâve been miserable and alone for years. You want to be happy. For the first time in forever, you want something.Â
And you want Logan to be happy with you. You canât force him to feel the way you do. But you can stop him from actively preventing this. âStop acting like a goddamn child and just talk to me!â You shout at him.Â
Thereâs a disbelieving look on your face. You donât understand why he wonât let this happen. Why does he have to fight so hard against any semblance of happiness in his life?
âIâm going to hurt you. That is all I do. I hurt the people I love and I cannot hurt you too.â Your eyes widen in shock at his outburst. Beyond anger, there was so much fear in his voice it was almost enough to make you miss what heâd said.Â
âYou love me?â You can see the realization dawn on him. The fact that he let slip why heâs so hesitant to be around you. You know he wants to leave, his eyes are darting around the room for an escape route, but youâve blocked them all. You canât let this go, not now.Â
âLogan,â you snap, demanding an answer from him.Â
âFuck you,â he mutters, something vicious on his face.Â
Heâs going to hurt you. Heâs going to lash out and say something cruel so that this doesnât happen. You know him because youâve been him. He will take every possible route to get out of this if it means he doesnât have to face his feelings.Â
You roll your eyes and take a step forward. You jerk him towards you and throw yourself on him before he can say something stupid. The kiss is brief, just enough to snap him out of this ridiculous headspace heâs in.Â
When you pull back he looks dazed, but heâs relaxed in your hold, sinking towards you. You grin up at him, âI love you too, dumbass.â You lean up to kiss him again but you dart back at the last second, a mean glare on your face. âPull some shit like this again and Iâm going to melt your dick off.âÂ
You kiss him before he can respond, but you feel the smile against your lips. You can taste the defeat on his tongue as he wraps his arms around you and tugs you into his chest. Heâs not going to push you away and youâre not going to let him.Â

â Ë・ â ਠ⥠ৠâ Ë・ â [ imagine #02 ]

[ j. todd ] â Ë・ â ਠ⥠ৠâ Ë・ â
ââ . ⌠in which jason is your next door neighbour.

⌠The first time you met Jason wasnât out of high stakes - a dangerous situation - or from a friend of a friend. It was by pure will, and that stuck out to him. Youâd come over to finally meet your new neighbour whoâd moved into your small apartment complex, blushing slightly as a young man opened the door. There you were, standing with a small container of pasta in hand next to the hunk of a man youâd never met. All because youâd made some extra on accident.
âThanks. This looks great.â He nods his head ever so slightly in gratitude.
⌠Jason notices how your shoulders relax as he takes the containerâ how cute you looked all nervous like that. Above all, he was just happy he didnât come off as some shitty neighbour, fortified by the wide, gentle smile you ported while turning to wave goodnight.
⌠He sets the container onto his counter, picturing your face in his mind for a brief instant. It'd been a while since someone did something nice for Jason, just because. He wasnât used to it.
⌠Youâd crossed paths many times in the hallway, but what really sealed the deal was when your sink started to leak one random thursday evening. You couldnât tell if it was minor or not, but you wanted to play it safe, knocking next-door. Who was Jason to deny a pretty girl, anyway? He accepts causally, though inside heâs beaming more than heâd like to admit.
âYeah, no sweat, let me grab my tools.â
⌠And only a couple minutes later, he was hunched under your kitchen cabinetsâ sleeves rolled up and everything. His hands work deftly, years of practice making the task almost second nature.
âDo you need a water, or anything? I have soda, too.â
âOh- Yeah. Water would be perfect.â
⌠You tried desperately to hide your growing grin while reaching up for a glass, the whole situation particular. Jay stayed longer than he had to once the leak was actually repaired; a whole half hour to put into perspective. Maybe it was the way your eyes lit up when you smiled, or the way you seemed genuinely happy to have him over that made him give in. Or, maybe, itâd just been too fucking long since heâd had a normal conversation like this.
âEh, I've been around for a bit," He says vaguely as you two were sharing, "Long enough to know my way around. And- to know that this place is a hell of a lot better than some of the other shitholes in the city."
He gestures to your apartment with his glass in hand, leaning against your counter. âYeah, tell me about it⌠Itâs small, but it works.â Jason points to the sink he had just finished fixing with a smirk, eliciting a small chuckle from you.
⌠Your smile just lit up around him, and that was when he knew youâd be the woman heâd marry.
⌠But then, the fateful night hit. Red Hood had come back home after beating up some prominent criminals near the side of an old portâ covered in bruises and a small stab wound to the lower abdomen. His head wasnât in the game, and the feverish lightning made it hard to concentrate. He reached for his apartment door, mask in hand. It was late; he knew nobody would be out roaming the halls at this hour.
⌠The handle didnât budge, thoughâ his black gloves gripping onto the metal more harshly.
âFuck!â
⌠Jay yelled, banging his hand against his apartment door. This? Now? Could his night not get any fucking worse? He pauses, his expression not angry, but just sad. Tired. He looked defeated. Jason walked over to the left of him, pausing before knocking on your door.
âJason? Oh my god- Are you-â
⌠The stab wound in his side was throbbing, and you could see some blood dripping down from his leg. He needed to get it cleaned before he passed out.
âPlease.â
⌠You donât waste anytime before helping him inside, placing your hand on his lower back. You always had your suspicions about the guyâ but this? He had to be a vigilante! Crime was rampant in this area, anyway⌠You prayed he was on the good side of things.
⌠Jason was sitting on your toilet seat, shirt off, gaze completely averted down. He didnât want you to see him like this; all fucked up and broken. But you didnât run screaming, or turn away in disgustâ Instead you rushed to help him. He didnât understand. You diligently cleaned his wound with an antiseptic, own expression sour from how much you knew it had to be hurting him. Jay tried his best to hold still despite the stinging pain, grunting slightly.
âShitâŚâ
⌠You look up, only to notice he was already staring down at you in between his legs. Your heart skipped a number of beats.
âCan you tell me what happened?â You ask calmly, and Jason just couldnât take it. Your soft hands - your sympathetic expression - your fucking voice. He was going to break, averting his gaze in the matter of a second before clearing his throat roughly.
âJust crossed through the bad side of town.â
⌠Once the wounds were cleaned, you bandaged them up with extra care. Jasonâs gaze was fixed between your hands working at his cuts, up to your pretty face. Apart of him wanted to apologize for showing up all unannounced like this, but another part of himâ a part that's been starved of kindness and compassion for far too long wanted nothing more than to let you take care of him. Nobody had ever before, at least not with such compassion as you carried.
âIâm sorry for dragging you into this⌠I just didnât know where else to go.â
⌠He explained his situation once you offered him a glass of waterâ how his apartment was locked. You donât think twice before letting him stay the night.
⌠You handed him some old pyjama pants that were too big on you to sleep in, all the while his equipment sat in your bathtub for the time being. You didnât waste your time before setting up the couch, too, even lighting a nice candle on the coffee table. Jason feels a warmth spread through his chest as you smile at himâ it had nothing to do with the pain.
âFuck- I canât thank you enough for this.â
âOh, Jason- Itâs my pleasure, really. If you need anything during the night, just come get me, yeah?â
⌠You close the blinds and shut off all the lights before tucking yourself back into bed. Holy⌠what a night! You couldnât get the image of him out of your head, knowing he trusted you enough for this. All the while Jason fell asleep like a light for the first time in many years, all thanks to your gentle care.

CHAPTER 001 . . .

in which namgyu breaks the heart of his childhood sweetheart and tries to piece it back together again while fighting death.

You often wondered about the first moment you fell in love. It happened so gradually that you couldn't quite recall the moment it finally clicked. The same thought followed you in the small hours of the night, on the long work days when your feet and back ached, and especially on the days when you missed his presence most.
It had been the summer of 2008 when you first met him. You were a bright eyed eleven year old, too innocent for the world. The sun had finally started shining after a long week of summer showers and so your sketch pads laid against the hot pavement, pencils scattered around you. Your bottom lip was jutted in concentration, hands flying across the paper, a brown pencil tucked between your fingers.
You paused as a shadow blocked the sunlight casting darkness across your drawing. You slowly glanced upward expecting your mother but instead a boy towered over you, eyes focused on the paper at your folded legs. You looked down and back at him again.
"That's pretty good" He said, finger pointed to the cat drawing you were currently sketching.
"Thanks" You replied, tone clipped. "Can you move? You're blocking the sunlight"
He shuffled to the side, the soles of his shoes scuffing against the pavement. He continued to hover over you for the next minute or two, eyes focused and head moving when your pencil flicked in a certain direction. You tried your best to remain cool, uncomfortable under the unknown boys stare.
You dropped the pencil, staring up at him. "What are you doing?" You questioned.
"Watching you" He replied matter of factly.
"It's creepy"
He shrugged. "As i've heard before"
His words softened your gaze a little. You knew what kids were like. Their mean words, their horrid actions. You had known it a little too well, it was the reason you chose to stay so close guarded. Even at eleven you knew how cruel the world could be.
You straightened your back, apologetically looking back at him. "I didn't mean that" You said sincerely.
"It's okay, i'm used to it" He laughed it off. "Do you live here?" The boy pointed to the house behind you, the one with the windows pulled open and the trot music lowly drifting out.
"Yeah" You admitted, a little embarrassed.
He scratched the back of his arm, a red mark, almost like a burn, stood out against his pale skin. "Cool, we're neighbours" He beamed.
Hyehwa Station was fairly empty for a Saturday night. The only sounds came from the racketing trains passing through and the footsteps of the commuters heading home after their 9 to 5's. You wrapped the coat tighter around yourself, attempting to savour the warmth and took a seat at the empty bench. The small screen read ten minutes until the next train to Itaewon. You let out a sigh stretching your legs. The long work hours were slowly killing you.
Too busy trying not to fall asleep you took no notice of the person now sat beside you, too tired to care, until he loudly cleared his throat. You looked to your right, a well dressed man smiled, a little menacing if you were honest, at you, briefcase at his side. You smiled awkwardly back, bowing your head slightly out of politeness.
"Would you like to play a game?" The man questioned, the same uncanny smile on his face.
The unsettling feeling of dread settled in your stomach. You moved closer to the edge of the bench, as far from him as you could. "Excuse me?" You replied.
His head titled to the side, facial expression frozen. "Would you like to play a game?" He repeated.
"No thank you" You muttered under your breath.
The stranger didn't reply instead he stood up, opening the briefcase on the now empty spot he had once been sitting. You watched him in confusion, you didn't have the time or energy to be dealing with the strange people that frequented the subway stations. You pinched the bridge between your eyebrows, sighing loudly.
"Would you like to play a game?" He asked again as if stuck on a record.
"Look-" You started, turning to face him but froze momentarily. "What?" You asked dumbfounded.
Enough money to pay the month's rent gleamed up at you. Stacks upon stacks of Korean won sat neatly in the briefcase. You glanced up at him and back at the bills again. You didn't hesitate before asking, "What's the game?"
The man's eyes sparkled, his smile somehow becoming wider. He reminded you of something from the horror comics you used to read as a child.
He reached into the case pulling out two envelopes, red and blue. "Ddakji" He said, gaze fixated on you. "I'm sure you know how to play"
You hadn't in years, you'd probably only played it once or twice but you nodded nonetheless.
His twinkling eyes crinkled with a smile, "Win and i'll give you 100,000 won. Lose and you'll receive a punishment." He paused. "Ready?"
Your brows furrowed. "Punishment?"
"Just a light slap"
At this point you didn't care, you would've taken any punishment if it meant winning the money in that briefcase and you were winning it.
"Okay" You agreed, standing up and shrugging the backpack from your shoulders, then placing it onto the bench.
Five rounds later and you were 100,000 won richer. Your left cheek throbbed, your eyes filled with tears. Your mouth tasted metallic from the cuts you'd bit into your cheeks in frustration. He was too good at this, his calmness told you he'd done it one too many times.
"Congratulations, Y/N-ssi" The man applauded, slowly clapping.
You stared back at him through hooded eyes, attempting to catch your breath. He stretched out a hand, fingers delicately picking up the stack of cash and passing it to you. You quickly snatched it, scared he would take it away from you and tucked it safely into the pocket of your coat.
He closed the case, turning to face you cheerfully. It seemed this man didn't know how to be upset. He reached into his pocket, taking out a small brown card and holding it out for you. You hesitated but took it from his grasp. Three symbols stared up you, a square, a triangle and a circle.
"Call the number on the back if you're interested in winning a lot more" He said, bowing in your direction and then taking off towards the exit.
You flipped it over and truth be told a number was there. Your mouth twisted, mind in battle with itself. If it was another game of ddakji or even worse, some other childhood game, you'd be screwed, you would be loosing whatever money was up for grabs in the first round. Your childhood was spent in comic books and colouring pencils, or in textbooks and homework, not on the playground with other kids playing games, you'd have no idea how too.
Your mind contemplated it over on the train ride home, occupying your running thoughts with something else for once. You entered the cold apartment at almost midnight, instantly throwing yourself face down onto the bed. Your backpack and coat still on. You let your body sink into the mattress, exhaling loudly. The apartment was silent, so quiet you could hear the refrigerator humming and the wind rattling against the windows.
These were the nights when your mind went to him. When it was quiet. When it was your heartbeat you could hear and not his underneath you. You flipped onto your back, backpack digging into you, moving uncomfortably you pulled it from your shoulders tossing it onto the floor. Your fingers found your pockets taking out the brown card, staring intently at the phone number. When had your life become such a shit show, when had accepting a beating from a stranger in the subway station for 100,000 become the normal. This wasn't how you planned it for yourself. You often wondered where it all went wrong.

Erin looked at you as you sat down across from her and sighed. This had been going on for the past week and you had now given yourself a headache trying to figure out what you were going to do.
âCall your boyfriend.â Erin told you as she threw your phone for you to catch it, but you quickly shook your head no as you caught it before it hit the floor.
âI am not calling him.â
âAnd why NOT?â She exclaimed and looked at you as if you were crazy.
âBecause this is my problem and I'm going to deal with it. I don't have to run to him for every little thing.â
âYOUR BOYFRIEND PLAYS IN THE NFL! AS A QUARTERBACK! Or did you suddenly forget?â
âJust because he plays in the NFL doesn't mean Iâm going to take advantage of that.â You said as you crossed your arms.
âBestie, I love you but you fucking annoy me so much sometimes. So let me ask you this, Joe doesn't have a problem asking you for sex correct?â
âWhat in the world are you getting at?â
âAnswer my question.â
âNo, he doesn't.â
âAnd he fucks you raw simply because you had a fucking pregnancy scare two semesters ago when he won the Heisman.â
âErin, get to the point already. I was scared out of my damn mind.â You replied as you rolled your eyes.
âMy point is that you shouldn't have a problem asking your boyfriend who fucks you raw for money. At the very LEAST like bare minimum he can give you a little cash.â
âI get it but..â
âUh no you obviously don't. And you know how he is. First thing out of his mouth is going to be why didn't you tell him. I'm convinced that man would drink your bath water if you let him.â
âI swear you get on my nerves.â
âWelp been doing that since we were three and that's not changing any time soon.â
âI don't know. I feel kind of weird asking people for anything. Like not just him and Iâve always been like that.â You said as you got up to go into your kitchen with Erin following close behind.
âIt's not like he's going to want you to pay him back. I guarantee you that he'll give it to you without a second thought. You never know unless you try. Surprised he hasn't put your name on the bank account yet.â
âSomething is wrong with you.â
âBitch, don't act like he's not going to put a ring on your finger. Surprised he didn't do it our first semester.â Erin told you as you turned to look in the freezer for ground turkey to make homemade burgers for the two of you.
âYes, obviously but not yet.â
âHe is literally just waiting for you to graduate to do it.â
âAnd how do you know all this?â You asked as you began to cut up red onion along with some green bell peppers.
âI just do and like I said, he would drink your bath water.â
âEw, Erin that's nasty.â
âJust calling it like I see it. But if you don't fix this in 48 hours when your rent is due, I'm calling Joe.â
Twenty four hours later you were finally lying down in your bed after a long and exhausting day, your phone rang indicating a facetime call coming through and you rolled over onto the other side to answer it. When your boyfriend's face came into view, you instantly smiled.
âHi my love.â You quietly said and wrapped yourself tighter in the blankets that were covering you while propping up your phone.
âHey baby doll. How was your day?â He asked while it looked like he was sitting up against the headboard.
âHmm, long. I've been up since 4 in the morning. But you know I never pass up an opportunity to talk to you. I miss you.â
âI miss you too and Erin called me.â
âWhat? Why?â
She literally only gave you 24 hours and not 48 like she promised.
âYou tell me. Something going on that I should know about?â Joe asked and you continued to look at him confused.
âUh, not that I can think of.â
âLet me ask you this then. Have you paid your rent this month for your condo?â
âNo and I have no idea why she called you. I told her I would take care of it.â
âBecause you miscalculated your bills for this month and they added a whole bunch of fees and you decided to suffer instead of calling your boyfriend for help.â
âIâŚâ
âIs that it?â
âI didn't want to bother you.â You quietly said and Joe just looked at you.
âSeriously? When are you ever bothering me? I have another question for you.â
âYes?â
âYou plan on being with me for a long time, right?â
âYes.â
âAnd you know that I'm going to take care of you right? Especially when you graduate and move up here.â
âYes.â
âSo, why wouldn't I take care of you now?â
âI know you will, but if I can do it on my own, I'm going to try to.â
âBut I'm here and you don't have to. Aren't you a WAG now?â Joe asked as he smiled at you.
âI want to be the W and not the G.â You replied without skipping a beat.
âWhoâs to say that I don't already have your ring?â
âWell, my finger is still bare so? What does that do for me?â You told him as you held it up so he could see your hand.
âTouchĂŠ, princess.â Joe told you as he smirked.
âMm hmm, that's what I thought.â
âBut next time you come up here we're picking out a house.â
âIâŚâ
âMe and my future wife along with my future kids need a place to live so we can start looking. Or we can have it built, your choice."
âAnd a new car, mine is on its last leg.â
âName it and it's yours. That goes for whatever else you want to.â
âNO! I'm going to get it! You are not going bankrupt buying someone who is not even your wife expensive things.â
âYou ARE my wife; it's just not on paper yet.â He told you as he shrugged while your cheeks began to heat up.
âBabeeeee.â
âWhat? I'm not saying anything that isn't true. And besides, I'm not spending any money from my contract. Just my endorsement deals. But back to our original problem, you're good for the rest of the year.â
âI⌠JOEY! That was like 4,000 dollars!â
âMoney is not a factor when it comes to you. If you need it, I'm getting it. So can we move on?â
"Fine, while I have you in a giving mood, I want an elephant." You replied and Joe simply gave you a blank stare.
"Best I can do is the Cincinatti Zoo, you gotta work with me here."
"Well, you said 'name it and it's yours'."
"Baby, I meant within reason and an elephant is not within reason."
