Dead Man's Diner pt 4
"THOSE FUCKING BITCHES SAM!" Danny shouted as he stormed into his apartment, slinging his backpack off by the door as he toes his shoes off.
Rounding the corner of the hallway, Danny was met with Tucker, shirtless with only a pair of plaid boxers on, staring at him with sleep glazed eyes, he had a box of cereal in one hand, and a bottle of oat milk in the other, raising the bottle in a salute, Tucker stuffed a handful of cereal into his mouth before taking a swig of the milk, holding up a hand to stop Danny from speaking as he chewed, only letting his hand fall before he spoke.
"What?"
"The Bats are fucking assholes!"
Tucker looked back at the bottle of oat milk, sighed and placed it back in the refrigerator, chucking the box of cereal on the counter, Tucker grabbed Danny by the shoulders.
"Of course they are Jerks Danny..." his grip tightened as he started to shake the Halfa, "I have ten deadlines and 5 missed calls, I really want to geek out right now about you meeting the local heroes but I really don't have the time, so yes, jerks, tell me about it later okay?"
Danny phased through the tough grip on his shoulders, letting out a giggle as he watched Tucker fumble as he no longer had someone to help steady himself, "I did yell specifically for Sam, Tuck so you can't get mad at me! Go huant the Wanyetech building, I know for sure those dudes are way more dead inside than I am!"
Getting a groan from his friend at his dead pun, Danny continued into the apartment, snatching Tuckers cereal box off the counter as he went to sit in the living room.
Spotting Sam typing something on a lap top, her big over the ear headphones blaring as he flops down next to her, which thankfully was enough for her to notice him.
Offering g the box of cereal to her, she sent him a tired smile as she slipped the head phones off and took some of the fruit flavored rings, "Hey there Deadstuff...how was work?"
Danny sent her a grin, "Well, Clocky decided to throw me a bone and I think I got this? He is a little bitch boy that sends me all over the place but this time it was a dined, Lunch Lady taught me how to cook." Pasuing to stuff a new handful of tasty fruity goodness, Danny spoke around the cereal in his mouth "Cookin' ish so much more cool when da food isn't trying to kill you"
Slapping Danny's arm as she rolled her "Don't eat with your mind full and tell me what got you so riled up" Sliding her laptop of her self she tucked her knees up before stretching them out over Danny, who was already going off on his story.
"Wait wait! You had Nightwing in you're restaurant and you didn't get me an autograph?" Same shot Danny a scowl, who at least had the decency to look sorry
"I was going to but they fucking dined and dashed Sam! Even when I was actively Phantom, I never, ever just left a bill!"
---
Dick knew that perhaps eating the food was a slightly bad idea, given the look B gave them when him and Tim pulled into the Cave.
He was standing there, arms crossed, thankfully cowl down, what made the sight infinitely less intimidating was Damian doing the same next to him, his head tilted to look down at them and perhaps standing on his tittpy toes a little bit.
Dick wanted to coo at the father son bonding, but remembered he had to act at least a little chastised at the moment "Yes I am sorry B, It was my decision to head in, there was no outward danger so we just took a chance."
Wincing at the gruff grunt he got from that Dick powered on, "I will write a more detailed report, but personally if anything wrong it's likely that the kid working there is Meta? I dont-"
"He can't be meta! He is very clearly a ghost Dick!" Tim interrupted already flipping through some notes he had made on the way back home, "its the only explanation...or he is a 5th dimensional Imp with a passion for cooking but I really hope not those guys suck to deal with..."
Dick nodded at that, but had to say some thing foe his own superfan imp "Nightmite is a chill dude helps sometimes with cases back in Bludhaven!"
Giving a sigh, Bruce rubbed the bridge of his nose, "No mites, no metas, no ghost, go to Medbay I am running blood tests on what sweet hell you have ingested."
---
Bruce ran the test again, sure that it was wrong, praying that it was wrong.
TEST COMPLETE
TRACE LAZARUS WATERS DETECTED
Underneath was lists of chemical make ups of the samples Tim took and his sons blood, there were varying levels through out the food samples, some lighter but others were heavy on it.
What was stumping him was...it was nearly perfectly pure, the pits naturally over time get polluted, with the dirt and sediment that falls in, and with the various amounts of bodily parts and fluids that are dipped in it.
But the trace amounts Bruce was finding were a better quality than Ra's own personal pool, not the one he dips in to regain his youth that the LOA make a ritual out of, no the privet one in the Alps that was clear as glacial water.
It didn't make any sense to Bruce, who would be spreading Lazarus water around? Ra's would not simply share his secret pure stash...
Lost in thought, Bruce sat back glaring at the test results.
---
"And after I thought I was giving great service, they fucking left, no bill, no tip! I didn't even get to see Nightwings ass as he left! People say it's a godly experience! I was robbed!" Letting out a huff Danny shot Sam an incredulous look at her sudden burst of laughter. "Sa~am, this isn't funny! Never meet your heroes! I am taking this to Twitter! They shall know my fury!" His words only served to make Sam laugh even harder.
Stifling a grin Danny took out hos phone, a old busted thing that was more ducktape and prayers than actual technology, but dear go's did it still work.
<@i-haunt-spirit-holloween
[@.realwing @not-that-red-robin.real yall are toxic twinks came in to my workplace and fucking dined and dashed 0/10 Nightwing has a flat ass.]
Hitting send, Danny put his phone down, choosing to let the nights happenings go past his mind and just hang out with Sam before showering and finally going to bed.
---
Tim was hunched over his lap top, going frame by frame of his body cam footage, he *needed* to figure this out, it was like an itch in his brain that he would go through bone to get through.
His work payed off as he clicked forward another time, his feed went static before it showed a blurry blue blob in place of the diner! Proof! It was there!
Jumping at the sudden bang of his bedroom door being thrown open, Tim whirled to around to see Dicks distressed face, standing up, Tim prepared for the worst, something happened. Bruce was dead agian it had to be-
"TIMMY I AM A TWINK AM I??" Was Dicks wail as he flopped down on Tim's bed.
Letting out a shuddering sigh, Tim looked longingly at his laptop before closing it, "Dick, what the fuck."
Rolling around on the bed, Dick finally looked up at Tim "Littlewing sent me a tweet and...ugh just look!" Thrusting out his phone as he spoke
Pasuing at the mention of Jason, Tim  looked down at the screen and froze
"Holy shit...we forgot to pay didn't we...fuck Jason is never going to let us live that down."
Tim still remembered the first time he witnessed one of Jason's famous "make Bruce spend more money" rants about tipping.
It was glorious.
Tim now realized he would be one of two that was likely going to have to face it next.
"UGH?? You focus on the money and not the other parts? Tim I was called a toxic twink with no ass! This is a declaration of war! I have never been so offended!" Dick sat up, eyes narrowd while Tim opened up the tweet on his own phone.
"The comments agree Dick, I am sorry, you now have a flat ass congrats and welcome to the club" Tim said dryly, trying to go to the posters page, since it was clearly Danny who posted it.
Only the app crashed when he tried to. And again when he tried to a second time, and his web browser crashed when he tried opening it there
Tim was baffled on what was happening while Dick lemented on his bed before deciding to hack it later.

Somewhere in a safe house in Crime Ally, Jason let out a little giggled as he scrolled through the comments on the funniest post he had found in a while, Jason was surely going to have to speak to Timberly and Dickiebird about paying their bills but right now?
He was kicking his feet watching Dick have a public meltdown as Nightwing.
Finally, he wouldn't be the only one who had to retake the Bat Media course.
How was he supposed to know doing peace signs next to a person he just shot wasn't allowed?

how bakugou would react to his child telling his mom to shut up?
Tumblr media
Katsuki has always had his doubts when it came to parenthood. However the first day he held his baby boy to his chest after his birth, he felt all his fears disappear in thin air. The comfortable weight of his tyke somehow was enough to silence his fears of being a good father.
When he found his little brat inherited the same quirk as him, he was over the moon. Their bond only grew stronger and stronger through their endless training and practice at his agency. After all, if Katsuki was anything, he was a family man.
With his son growing in a young adolescent, Katsuki could see only more of himself in his boy. The same brash attitude he once strutted around the campus of his middle school. Their mannerisms hardly differed as they sat discussing on the couch, his sweet little wife tucked under his arm.
"This is heaven" He couldn't help but think. There he was, living a life his younger self could never have imagined. Yet this was all he needed. The most important two people of his life, right here with him. The explosive pro hero's train of thought was rudely interrupted however by the loud sneer of his son.
"Shut it mom- we're busy"
The words that left his son's mouth in a fleeting moment, left a bitter look on Katsuki's face. How could Katsuki ever miss the way his wife tensed under his arm, a look at her and he would have seen the tears that rushed to her lash line. However he didn't know if he was strong enough to see that at the moment.
Had he not been holding his wife to his side, he would have flown into a rage. Katsuki loved his boy to pieces, but his wife had been the one to teach him how to love. His wife had stuck out his explosiveness, all the crude remarks and his constant hot and cold behavior throughout his UA years, and made herself a home in his heart. So no matter who it was, Katsuki wasn't gonna have it.
"What did you say, brat!"
Katsuki snaps back, his voice dangerously low as if daring his son to try to repeat himself. Holding his wife protectively to his side, his thumb subconsciously rubs circles on her arm in an attempt to comfort her, while his teen could only look at him dumbfounded. Frozen still in place for Katsuki was never like this at home, his anger never directed towards him especially.
"Dad I-"
"Apologize. Now."
Katsuki said coldly. He wasn't the one for any dumb excuses and his son's malicious tone towards his wife wasn't something he was just gonna tolerate.
"Katsu, it's okay"
He could hear his wife mumble softly, her warm hand pressed his chest, coaxing him gently to let go of the matter. He was only a teenager after all, isn't this what they do, his wife believed. Katsuki however, didn't believe the same. Had the remark been directed towards Katsuki he would have let go of it, getting back to him a crude comment of himself, but this was his sweet little wife. He couldn't even remember one instance of her raising her voice to discipline their son, she's always been kind and gentle in her parenting methods, offering only the utmost support. So no, it wasn't okay in eyes Katsuki's eyes.
"I'm sorry mom... I shouldn't have done that. I didn't- ..mean to"
His son replies, his head hung shamefully as he takes a moment to reflect what he had just done. Katsuki had raised him to be gentleman through and through. Every step of the way, reminding him how his mother deserved only the best in the world. So for him to snap at his mom was out of character for him, but he would say the stress of school and preparing for UA was getting to him, resulting in him snapping at the only person his heart trusted not to hate him for it.
"Try that once more and we'll have long talk about it. And I can promise you the next time we train you won't have it easy"
Katsuki threatens lightly, knowing he had the little smack to his chest coming as his wife chuckled shyly as his protective instinct. Maybe he meant it, but his wife didn't have to know that he wasn't kidding. Of course he would never hurt his own son, but of course he could tire him out until his body had no energy to snap at his own mother of all people.
His wife's chuckle however was enough to lighten the air around them. The little bakugou earning a little tug on his ear to make sure he understood his lesson. All the while he smiled sheepishly, moving to sit on the floor in front of his mother, burying his head in her lap as a silent apology, seeking her reassurance.
Katsuki could have been the strongest damn hero to exist, but again, he was only a family man after all and the sight was enough to soften his iron heart. His wife tucked under his arm, rubbing the head of his now teen boy.
"brat"
Katsuki mumbles softly, tucking his wife's under his chin as he starts his earful lecture for his son about his wife being 'the most damn amazing woman on earth' and how he needs to do better he's gonna be a true bakugou, because in this family, we love our only woman.
That night, Katsuki slept with his head tucked in his wife's neck, whispering sorry's for not being a good father enough for this to happen in the first place. His worries however were soothed with an array of kisses on any skin his wife could reach, all pressed with a "you're the best father our baby could have had".

・Your main concern, out of this situation, was how Vermithor would react to not only the colder weather but having to stay there.
・It is known that dragons do not like to travel far (without a rider) and love heat. So how would he stay with you?
・Your second concern was being away from your family... you had never been apart from them. Ever since being born, you were close to your siblings - but your mother cherished you in a different way...
・As her only girl, she hated having to send you away. But she knew House Stark would keep you safe. And you had Vermithor... Surely you would be okay?
・The first time you met Cregan was when you were both infants. Viserys had thrown you the largest nameday and the Lord of Winterfell came, along with his son.
・Being a few years older than you, Cregan can recount the memory. Especially the time you had grabbed his nose so tight that he thought you were going to tear it right off.
・The second time was only a few weeks ago, when you had flown with Daemon after Luke's funeral. (Rhaenyra wanted to go herself, but Daemon had become a father figure when Harwin died and she remarried.)
・You were used to Daemon. House Stark was not.
・And it was the Stark's maester who had interrupted a few times to keep both Cregan and Daemon in check.
・But Daemon was only testing the Stark - he wanted to know you would be protected.
・When the day came to leave, everyone came to see you off.
・Your brothers were teary-eyed, especially Joffrey who had clutched onto Jace. Your eyes matched his own - full of tears, puffy and red. You had been crying all night.
"I'm going to miss you all so much," you said to your brothers who had hugged you tightly. The white haired ones didn't understand what was going on, but they babbled to you anyway.
・Jace put on a brave face; he knew Cregan would keep you safe.
"I wish I could stay," you mumbled into Jace's chest, but he just kissed the top of your head and held your cheek.
"You are doing more than you know," damn him for being so wise, you had thought.
・You hugged Baela and Rhaena, all three of you had become so close that it physically hurt to know you wouldn't see them everyday.
"We'll see each other again," Rhaena cooed, wiping the tears from your cheeks.
"And when we do, you have to tell us all about marriage..." Baela said, a twinkle in her eye.
You bumped her shoulder, "Baela! Of course you know I will!" All three of you laughed and hugged once more.
・Your mother was the last to give you farewell.
・She leaned her forehead against your own, tears spilling down her cheeks. Rhaenyra was full of inner-conflict. A large part of her didn't want to send you away to get married. But that's what royals had to do - especially in times of war. She wanted you safe; but wasn't safe with her?
・No. Rhaenyra had decided that being at home, at Dragonstone wasn't safe for you.
・But she knew Vermithor would stay with you - you were his first rider since Jahaerys, and that bond would protect you like no other.
・However, Vermithor's brute personality made this change in scenary difficult.
・It wasn't the first time in his life that he'd been to Winterfell. But having to relocate there was a challenge.
・Until Cregan had shown you the new cave/dragon pit they had made for him. It was incredibly warm, and large enough for him to stalk off into.
・Saying thank you to Cregan didn't feel enough. So you kissed him on the cheek and ran after Vermithor to see it for yourself
・The first time Vermithor and Cregan met, it nearly had you in stitches.
・Cregan didn't think it was funny for a long time. But after a few weeks, whenever you told the story - he let a smile appear on his face
・You had settled into Winterfell easier than you thought you would. You asked Cregan why that was - how Winterfell was just as warm of a castle as any other.
"Centuries ago, Bran the Builder had built Winterfell around an ancient godswood and over natural hot springs. The water is piped through walls and chambers to heat them. This is why Winterfell is far superior than any castle," he winked as he said it and you snorted in response, for it would be an insult to any other royal.
・But Cregan did have a great point - the system that Bran used when making Winterfell made it far more comfortable than other castles during the harsh northern winters.
・Every room had a fireplace that was kept lit all day, everyday. It was absolutely brilliant!
・One of your favourite places to go is the Godswood; the Weirwood tree seemed to hum; or so you thought.
・If Cregan cannot find you, he knows that's the one place in the castle to look first.
・Your relationship with Cregan became infinitely easier when you let your walls down.
・Opening up bit by bit, made him realise just how much you worry.
・And in turn, he too would tell you things no other were to hear.
・It strengthened your marriage.

Aemond x daemon’sdaughter!wife reader
⋆˚࿔ reader part 1 & part 2 here ˚⋆𝜗𝜚˚⋆
summary: Heavy melancholy of jahaerys’ funeral and a difficult aftermath of the tragic affair brings out feelings and confession (mainly hurt comfort)
word count: 3.1k+
warnings: Jaehaerys’ funeral, b&c aftermath, small folk chants
Tumblr media
As the news progressed further down to dragonstone, an unwavering tension settled within the walls of the black council. Upon finding out the works of Daemon under her own, Rhaenyra’s name, she grew relentlessly furious. The lack of remorse and understanding gravity of the situation by the king consort was something that unnerved the queen even more so. The funeral for the boy was being prepared for as she had to stand hand on hand, heavy of heart and guilty of crimes she did not commit whilst daemon being unbothered as ever. Even after all that had occurred he regretted little of his miscalculation and more of his daughter still out of his reach. “It is only right I want my daughter back! By whatever means I have left to myself I cant keep on sitting in stupid council meetings, talking action stations whilst the hightowers have my daughter!”
Rhaenyra sighed looking away for a second, the conversation they were having was as it reaching lengths and she had to hold herself back from pointing out just how late daemon had this epiphany of concern for his daughter. Personally, Rhaenyra never had anything against y/n but it was Daemon’s disdain and locked up dislike for his own daughter which made her estranged and isolated from the family and bond she could have had even before he decided to marry her off “It is not that I do not hold any regard for y/n, I do. More than you ever did yourself.” She did not point when she tried to change Daemon’s mind when he decided to marry y/n off to Aemond before everything happened. She knew he regretted that as it is, “you can’t just act about as you wish now. You taint my name and my authority-”
“Wanting my daughter back is not a whim. She is in a disturbing place, married to that one eyed cunt do you think they are treating her with mercy?” Daemon interrupted her. He felt increasingly unsure and guilty of the life he subjected his own daughter to. Surely, he could never be gentler nor acceptive of his daughter, an extension to the hatred he held for her mother and the loss of his own personal freedom. Yet, the horror that had transcended broke down all his walls he held against y/n.
“You put her in that position!” Rhaenyra exclaimed out of frustration. “Despite everyone’s better judgement you were so eager to be rid of her and now you use her name to justify your self servings!”
“I’m not using my firstborn name to justify anything I simply want her back!” Daemon’s voice roared through the room as he found it difficult to get the truth of his conscience across to his wife. He couldn’t get it across to himself either but he felt urges more than he did reasons.
“I want her back too.” Rahaenyra declared, in truth she couldn’t be a ruler if she would surpass kindness to those of her own kin. The innocents within her kin. As far as she could tell y/n was one of the most misfortunate innocents she’d known. The timid sweet motherless child living at the hands of a vengeful father. “Do you think I don’t consider the horror she must be facing. Aemond, made it difficult for me to find the remains of my son I cannot even stomach the thought of pain he must inflict upon y/n.” She said in a weary tone, “All because…had my father or you, given second thoughts to the godawful marriage union of them she would’ve—”
“We can’t afford to indulge in what ifs when this is the time for action!” Daemon interrupted her as the guilt crept in more and more at her words. She was right of course, he did not miss y/n he felt responsible. “I will not be as though my hands are tied when they’re not. I will do everything in my power to get my daughter back.” This was perhaps the first time in all his life that he referred to y/n as his daughter. With the fatherly claim she had yearned for all her life…he was able to give it to her now, just now when she wasn’t around to revive it.
-
The funeral procession for the green heir, across the coast of dragonstone was an excruciating affair. The princess sat next to her mother in law the dowager queen as Helaena sat on the other side of the carriage next to her mother. Alicent, in the middle holding both of their hands as the royal women proceeded for the funeral.
Chants of public support ran through the streets of King’s landing yet none of it seemed to matter, as though it could do something. As though it could bring the boy back. The queen grew more and more restless and alicent tended to her, y/n tried too but every sight she laid her eyes on was more horrific than the other. A disgusting addition to the visions already recapping inside her head. The intruder, the blood, the disheveled room, the blood, the council meeting, the blood, Aemond’s quiet distress, the blood, just so much blood. She couldn’t be rid of the sights, ringing in her ears came over and over.
It was sickening. Everything was so sickening she felt physically weak. The politics of this procession in itself felt a heavy degradation of grief. And it was. Grieving women out on display for the public to see the works of the pretender queen. Without even being present across the coast y/n could surely tell just who was capable of such barbarism. Having faced it first hand herself she knew it was daemon behind this plan through and through and yet he wasn’t held accountable. The small folk called out for them as the carriage moved forward, perhaps their empathy was guaranteed for something but y/n couldn’t digest it.
Their chants, “Princess y/n! We grieve with you!”
“…the daughter that never was…”
“forsaken by kin and crown…Princess y/n we grieve for you!”
“A motherless child left in the pretender’s wake”
“Our rouge prince’s firstborn wronged by the black queen! The gods weep for your tragedy!”
gods…such plight laid bare for the people to see and this is how they perceive it. The wounds on her face, her father’s doing…all of it is ‘the pretender’s’ fault. All of their supposed well wishes or slogans twisted her stomach. She wanted to scream, tell them whose hands held the blood over the boy, over the cuts on her.
"From Lady Royce’s loss to Rhaenyra’s disdain—Princess y/n suffers"
That one felt like being stabbed in the ears, she felt her ears rang so loud, somewhat thankfully she didn’t hear further than that for a while. Lady Royce. A name she wouldn’t want to hear in this setting, a name she did not hear in so long and this, this felt like a cruel joke. She felt her mother’s loss all her life. But she suffered more due to Daemon’s disdain. Even now, away from him, a whole another life yet she was subjected to misery after misery by that man and everyone still saw him highly. The narrative couldn’t be surpassed in any way, she felt like a cornered animal in her father’s playground. She felt closer to the gods in the heaviest of her griefs but she couldn’t be sure if they did weep for her tragedy, looking up to the bland sky she hoped they at least witnessed.
The day was the foulest she had perhaps ever lived, the funeral parade worsened Helaena’s state even more so. Alicent and Y/n tried to help her through it, this whole ordeal was such an unnecessary test for Helaena.
After the funeral, even the darkest days seem to have a nightfall resulting a darker night. Y/n had fallen victim to a heavy fever. A result to the circumstances of a day which felt as long as a year. Her wounds were properly tended to and closed once she returned from the funeral but the fever simply elevated. Her mental turmoil truly did not help her situation, not meaning to worsen her situation but she couldn’t stop her thoughts. The smallfolk’s chants, the visions…everytime she closed her eyes she couldn’t help but open them teary once again. The maesters worked on her the entire evening until her fever stopped elevating but did not lower even. Whimpering and tossing on the bed, her limbs were hot enough to be on fire yet she felt cold of the north. The maids changed the cloth on her forehead over and over, she refrained from eating anything. A very difficult sight for Aemond. He had been present in the room the entire time, he did not leave her sight ever since she returned. Wanting to pick a bone with his mother and grand sire, that his wife’s condition was a result of their need to leave her wounds bare for the funeral. Yet Aemond remained at her side, muttering sweet nothings and offering her reassurances. “Are you still cold?” He would ask her softly as he adjusted another layer over her sleeping form.
In response she meekly shook her head, too weak to muster words. Wincing as she shifted inside the bed. She truly didn’t feel the pain from the fever that had taken ahold of her given the mental suffering held a stronger grip. “You aren’t going to leave are you?” She asked him, worried, so worried that he would leave and somebody would come in and take her away. A harm was her way…she couldn’t shake off the paranoia. Aemond even got their chambers changed so the sights of the walls she was violated in wouldn’t remind her of the same things. But it was of little help.
“No my love, I am right here.” He told her as he caressed her forehead through the warm cloth on her head, the maids took their leave in a bit and Aemond tried to coax his wife to sleep. “I won’t leave your side.”
“Aemond” she whimpered in a half conscious state, “I don’t want to go…”
Her worries made his heart sink to his stomach. Given the fever ridden state that she was in, his words would barely be reasoned with her. “You are not going anywhere, you are right here.” He tried to help her with same words in different ways, trying to assure her she was safe. “You are with me, you are safe.” Holding her hand, caressing her until she fell to slumber after a while.
Criston, visited him later that very night as Aemond was situated next to y/n restless and sorry for her state. Since she was deep into slumber he decided to have his usual meeting with Cole in the adjoining room, not that far from her. The council within the council went over the regret, remorse the plannings of upcoming action stations. Plotting ahead of others, however a heavy dread hung in the silent air of the room as Aemond stared at the board in front of him. Glancing back at the other room to make sure y/n was alright. “How is the Princess?” Cole asked.
Shaking his head, Aemond looked to the side into the fireplace. His eyes holding the same fire, “If grand sire didn’t insist on leaving her wounds open she wouldn’t be in this state.” He scoffed.
“Sorrow does not have words, grief simply grows disorderly.” Cole tried to counsel Aemond’s frustration.
“The maesters worked on her all evening. She refuses to eat, cannot situate in our previous chambers and she is growing restlessly frightened as if she is being hunted for sport.” Aemond briefed Cole about her state, “Can sorrow speak louder than this?”
The kingsguard did not have any response for Aemond’s ever so justified anger over the whole situation, “it is comfort to know she at least finds whatever consolation within you.”
Aemond did not exactly believe that despite their spark, but he couldn’t surpass their arguments either. However now it just felt like she had no other option but him to rely on, perhaps? Before he could dwell more on that thought he heard a stumble from the room. Immediately he rose to his feet to inspect what the noise was and y/n was out of her bed, rummaging through the shelf of books. “You are in no state to be out of bed” he said as he reached her in a few strides.
Yet she was focused on finding something through the bookshelf, ignoring Aemond’s concern. He caressed her forehead with the back and forth of his palm resulting the fever being steady and not elevated. He dismissed Cole with his regard of calling the maester. “Y/n, you have to get back to bed” he said as he gently tried to hold her up by her bicep.
“No!” She protested freeing herself out of his grasp, “I promised Jaehaerys I would read to him after dinner, I completely forgot.” Y/n informed him ever so casually as she continued rummaging through the bookshelf for the story book “I just can’t seem to find the book.”
Aemond’s heart broke at her state, her mind but be hazy from the tea of varying herbs in her system to help her through the fever yet, this was so much more painful. “Y/n…” he proceeded softly as he managed to pull her away from the bookshelf. “My love you have a really bad fever.” He would be dammed if he reasoned with her about their nephew this very moment.
“Aemond, I am fine. I must find that book-“ she was relentless to her cause. The few hours of fever sleep she had must have made her believe that the past few happenings were a bad nightmare. “I have to…I-“ reality seeped in and it felt like the walls all around her were breaking down. As if the world was crumbling to dust, “Aemond…I-i promised him.” Tears welled up her eyes as the realisation hit her but the denial was such an easier life to lead. “I promised I…I-i would read to him and I never—“ she couldn’t seem to finish her sentence as she broke down into tears.
No words were present to console her so Aemond enlaced her into his arms. Holding her against his chest tightly as he rubbed her back, “shh…” he said resting her chin on top of her head as her sobs filled the room.
The weight of the world crumbled on her shoulders, weakening her legs along with her spirit she fell to her knees as Aemond slowly held her down to the floor and situated her onto his lap. “Just breathe.”
“Jaehaerys-“ she wept into her hands, “He wanted me to read it to him-yesterday at that moment but I dismissed it for later-I—he made me promise him I’d read it to him…” she trailed off as she cried, her entire body trembling in Aemond’s arms. Her remorse was inconsolable.
“Loss of the boy cannot be compensated…in any way” Aemond said as he removed her hands from her face to look at her properly. Holding her face by her chin for her to meet his gaze, “his suffering is done. His spirit shall live on within us…with you. The love that you hold for him.”
Aemond’s words were not meant to console her because she couldn’t be. He wished for her to find some strength, help her mettle. “My thoughts are too loud” she confessed still crying, “all the blood, all his blood…Aemond he is so small, so young” she cried into his arms this time. Unable to breathe and meet his gaze simultaneously. “Every time I close my eyes I—I can’t see anything else and I hear the same words-the small folk over and over again.” She cried. “It is all too loud…”
He couldn’t tell apart if she was trembling out of her fever or her meltdown however he did not want to risk her well being any more. Aemond carried her up into his arm, his hand snaking through her waist and legs across his other arm. He carried her to the small distance of bed in bridal style instead of making her walk it. He nestled her back within the covers and remained close to her, wrapping his arms around her again. “What of the small folk?” He asked her.
“The funeral today, they kept on saying-daughter that never was…rogue prince’s first born-forsaken.” she said in between sobs, inconsolable sobs as he rubbed her back, easing her. “They said my mother’s name, my mother, I haven’t heard her name in so long” her voice came out broken as she cried and briefed him together. “They believe it is but Rhaenyra’s fault, it’s him. This is his doing, the blood—it’s all in his hand yet they all believe-“ she choked out her words. Her crying made it impossible to continue coherent words and thoughts, both.
Aemond’s eye widened in horror, he did not think the perception scenario at all. This is perhaps exactly what Otto wanted but its effect on his wife was un-fathomable. “Y/n.”
He told her a bit firmly and pulled away a bit to face her properly. “I want you to trust me, trust that I will not let Daemon get away. He will pay not just for this but all his missteps and wrongdoings to you all your life.” He told her, holding her face in his hands. “You have my word. He will pay.”
“Why must my life by subjected to misery and then vengeance for that misery?” She asked, extremely exhausted of this whole ordeal. All she wanted was to be rid of that man, be done with all the pain her father brought with him. “When shall this be done…when will I escape him?”
“You have.” He told her, his voice carrying no hint of hesitation even with his following words. “Because I love you. And for me to love you I haven’t had to know him, all his wrongdoings, because you are not what he has subjected your life to. You are what you have overcome, you are your strength and your wit and your resilience all of which you did not inherit from him.” He explained to her in a gentle manner as he fixed a loose strand of her hair behind her ear, “I love the lady that you have raised yourself to be. You are far away from him, you don’t have to worry or live behind him for I love you. I love you most thoroughly for all that you are, wholly, I am in love with you.”

Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Four | Part Five | Epilogue
•••
The sun was high in the sky and Y/N was wearing a thin dress, keeping as much heat from her body as possible. It was a lovely day and Y/N had forced her family out into the garden of their small cottage. Eris had moved himself and Y/N there not long after their wedding. Their room at the palace was beautiful but both Y/N and Eris wanted something that was wholly theirs. Despite being High Lord and High Lady of Autumn, they both wanted to separate their duties from their family.
Y/N walked across the vast grass area of their garden with a book in hand. She did not know where Eris and their children were. They disappeared a while ago and Y/N couldn’t even hear them. The large tree at the edge of their garden was surrounded by an array of flowers. Y/N smiled and settled herself down in front of the tree, resting her back against the bark.
Just as Y/N cracked open the spine to her book, loud shrieks of happiness were heard interrupting Y/N from her peaceful bubble. Y/N looked up just as her two children ran into her vision. Eris ran after them, a flower crown on top of his head. Y/N smiled fondly, already knowing that it was their daughter’s doing.
Eris chased their son and daughter around the garden before sweeping them both up into his arms, laughing at their giggles of delight. The love Y/N sent down the bond to Eris made him look up at her, a crooked smile on his face. Eris placed their two children back on the ground and they immediately began to run around the garden once again. Instead of Eris chasing after them, he walked directly to Y/N.
“Sporting a new look?” Y/N questioned, glancing at the flower crown on top of his head.
Eris smiled and sat down next to Y/N on the grass, pulling her body to his. He wore a simple white tunic and trousers, a lot more relaxed than Y/N had seen him in the previous weeks dealing with some difficult court officials.
“I was thinking of replacing my own crown with this one,” Eris said, kissing the top of Y/N’s head.
Y/N smiled. “It suits you.”
Eris scoffed. “Of course it does. It was made especially for me.”
As Eris shuffled against the tree, Y/N noticed him discreetly wipe the sweat from his forehead, breathing slightly heavy. Y/N smiled playfully. “How can you be tired after chasing your own children, Mister Former General of the Autumn Court?”
Eris rolled his eyes. “For starters, have you felt the heat? And secondly, those little monsters have too much energy then they know what to do with.”
“Your powers are literal fire? How can you find it warm?” she teased, “And you could have sat out,” Y/N replied, knowing that Eris would never deny his children anything.
When Y/N first told Eris she was pregnant with their first child, their daughter, six years ago, he had a lot of fears about being a father. Those fears stemmed from his father. Eris would stay up all night telling Y/N that he was going to end up just like him. And in those first few months, the more Eris began to distance himself from Y/N. It was the first time since they met that he did anything of the sort. But soon enough, Y/N managed to coax him out of his own head. She even enlisted the help of her sister, Feyre.
It had been a few years since their relationship had been repaired. When Y/N approached Feyre in asking for a favour, her youngest sister was more than happy to oblige. When Y/N returned to her home in the Autumn Court, her nephew and niece, who was just a year old, Eris had a lot to say.
“What is this, Y/N?” he asked.
“You have fears about becoming your father,” Y/N said, passing her niece to Eris. “Well, this is the perfect way to prove to you that you aren’t. Feyre and Rhysand are having a small holiday on the continent. She asked me to look after the kids.”
“She asked you, or you kidnapped them from their home. Doesn’t your other sister live in the Night Court?”
“Nesta and Cassian are busy with their own family,” Y/N answered. “And Elain is busy travelling with Lucien right now, so I was the last option.”
“Uncle Eris!” Nyx yelled and hugged him around the waist.
Nyx had always liked Eris, to Rhysand’s dismay, and was always excited to see him whenever he visited Autumn or he visited Night.
“Well, Mariana and I are going out for the day,” Y/N said and picked up her bag. “I will be back after dinner so don’t wait for me.”
“Wait!” Eris exclaimed. “Y/N–”
Y/N left him alone with the two children.
When Y/N returned that night, she found Eris asleep on the settee in their living room. Her niece asleep on his chest and Nyx sleeping soundly next to him. It was all the proof Y/N needed for him.
And it was all the proof Eris needed too, as after that night, everything seemed to change. He seemed to be more excited about having a child.
“I will never deny my children anything,” Eris said, capturing Y/N’s attention once more. “I don’t care if I spoil them.” Eris fondly watched his son and daughter play in the garden. “All I want to do is give them the childhood I never had.”
Y/N smiled and kissed his cheek. “You have already been doing that since they were born. They adore you, Eris.”
“Thank you, Y/N,” Eris said, his gaze turning to her. “For giving me our children and proving to me that I am nothing like my father.”
“You don’t need to thank me for something you prove yourself everyday,” Y/N said and pecked his lips. “But you're welcome anyway. Because I know you will only keep insisting until I say it.”
Eris smiled and pressed his lips firmly against hers, his hand cupping her face. Y/N rested her hand on his chest and smiled into the kiss. Every single time she kissed Eris, she felt giddy and light. His kisses always had that effect on her and Y/N was afraid that one day that feeling would fade.
As Eris softly began to kiss across her jaw, loud cries were heard from their younger son. Eris and Y/N sprang apart and were up on their feet, running in the direction of the cries.
“Mummy, Daddy, Octavian fell and scraped his knee,” their daughter, Arella, said and clutched onto Y/N’a hand. Eris scooped his son into his arms and together the family walked back into the cottage.
“Is he going to be okay?” Arella asked, tears in her eyes.
Y/N bent down to match her height. “Of course he is, sweetheart. It is only a scratch and he will be running around again in no time.”
Arella was always a sensitive girl, with her own emotions and other people’s. If someone was hurting around her, so was she.
“Can I sit with him?” Arella asked.
“Of course,” Y/N said, holding onto her daughter’s hand.
Together they walked into the dining room. Octavian was sitting on the table while Eris cleaned away the cuts and scrapes on his knees.
“Ow!” Octavian exclaimed, flinching as Eris wiped at the injury.
“I’m sorry,” Eris muttered, distress evident in his voice. “It will be over in just a second, I promise.”
Arella stood next to Eris and Y/N lingered by the doorway, simply watching her family with a hand resting on her stomach. She was not sure how her heart was big enough for three people, but it needed to expand for a fourth many months down the line.
“All done,” Eris said and pressed a kiss to the top of his son’s head.
“I’m tired,” Octavian muttered.
“Me too,” Arella said.
Eris only nodded and picked Octavian up in his arms before bending down to lift Arella up too. Y/N smiled at the care Eris had in his movements. Both of their children were almost a perfect replica of him, the only exception being their eyes. Instead of inheriting Eris’s amber eyes, they both inherited Y/N’s colour. But everything else about them screamed Eris. To their red hair to the freckles scattered around their faces. Y/N couldn’t ask for more perfect children.
“Mummy, come with us,” Arella said.
“I was planning on it,” Y/N said and followed as Eris walked into Octavian’s room first, placing him gently down in the bed.
“Get some rest, okay?” Y/N said to her son, brushing his hair away from his eyes.
“Okay, Mummy,” Octavian said. “But more play after.”
Both Y/N and Eris chuckled quietly at their son, whose eyes were already beginning to droop. “More play after.”
Once Octavian’s breathing became heavier and he was asleep, Y/N and Eris both exited his bedroom and entered Arella’s. Who was already fast asleep with her head on Eris’s shoulder. Eris gently lowered her down onto the bed and tucked the thin blanket over her body. It was still quite warm and he didn’t want his daughter to overheat.
“How has she grown this big already?” Eris asked, looking down at Arella sleeping soundly. “Everything is going too fast.”
Y/N wrapped her arms around him from behind. “I know, I hate it. Even looking at Octavian, I think he is growing too fast. I swear he only began to walk yesterday.”
“Let’s go back to our room,” Eris whispered. “I am quite tired myself.”
The two entered their own bedroom, it was by no means grand. But it was cosy and just what they both wanted to get away from court for a while. Eris sat on the bed and pulled Y/N toward him until she straddled his hips. Before she could say anything, his lips were pressed against hers, continuing what they started in the garden. Y/N sighed and melted into him, her arms lazily resting around his neck.
“Have I told you that I love you today?” Eris pulled away to mumble against her lips.
Y/N hummed. “Only when we woke up. When we had breakfast. Just before we went outside to the garden.”
Eris smiled and gently squeezed her hips. “I love you.”
“And just now,” Y/N finished.
“I don’t tell you enough,” Eris said.
“I’m sure you tell me more than enough,” Y/N said. “It makes up over seventy percent of your vocabulary.”
Eris rolled his eyes and kissed her, pulling her down to the bed with him. “I don’t know how I got so lucky to end up with you. Out of all the males on the planet, you ended up being my mate and later my wife. And you gave me two beautiful children who literally light up my world.”
“Three,” Y/N corrected.
Eris furrowed his eyebrows, “What?”
“Three beautiful children,” Y/N confessed.
“No,” Eris said. “You’re not…?
“I am,” Y/N said. “I had it confirmed a few days ago.”
“I would be able to smell the shift in scent,” said Eris.
“There is a tonic I have been taking which hides the smell of a pregnancy,” Y/N said. “I knew that you would be able to tell straight away and I wanted to surprise you. I had a big thing planned, but it just felt right to tell you now.”
“So we are having another child?” Eris asked.
“Yes, my love. We are having another child,” Y/N answered.
The smile on Eris’s face is one of pure happiness and joy. “Oh, my love!” he exclaimed and plants his lips on hers, kissing all across her face and jaw before nuzzling his head into her neck. “You have made me the happiest male in the whole of prythian.”
“You had a part in it too,” Y/N said, rolling off him to lay beside him. Eris pulled her body to his.
“I don’t care!” Eris said, kissing her lips. “We are having another child!”
“Shhhh,” Y/N laughed at his excitement. “We can still use the surprise I planned on Arella and Octavian.”
“They are both sleeping like the dead. I am sure nothing will wake them,” Eris said.
Y/N looked into his eyes and saw the mischievous glint in them. “And what are you suggesting, Eris Vanserra?”
Eris shook his head, playing innocent. “I am suggesting absolutely nothing.”
As he spoke, he rolled so he was hovering above Y/N. Her legs instantly wrapped around his waist, pulling him closer to her. Eris grinned wickedly and covered her lips with his own, devouring her like a starving man. They had not been able to be intimate for the past few weeks, every single time they tried, their children would always need them at that exact moment. Y/N craved him more than anything.
The feeling of Eris touching her body was one that always took her by surprise. How well he knew her to elicit those small sounds of pleasure from her. Y/N wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him closer, begging him to touch her.
As soon as their clothes were thrown onto the floor, Y/N pressed her body firmly against Eris’s, feeling every part of him. It had been too long since she had time to savour the touch. Quick bouts of pleasure was all they could afford for the past few weeks. Now that their children were fast asleep, Y/N could savour everything Eris had to offer.
“You are the most beautiful being in the universe,” Eris muttered against her lips as he slowly entered her.
Y/N gasped as she gripped onto his shoulders. He always filled her so perfectly. “Look who’s talking,” Y/N muttered as she threaded her fingers in his hair.
As Eris began to thrust, he kissed every part of her body he could reach. He always worshipped her. Always made sure to make her feel loved. Between each kiss and thrust he whispered words of affection that would be seared in Y/N’s brain for all eternity, the whispers of the words would be remembered every night when she went to sleep.
“Eris,” Y/N panted as he sped up. “I need more.”
Eris’s forehead rested against hers as his thrusts sped up once more. He buried his head into her neck, no doubt leaving marks across her shoulder. Y/N couldn’t find it within herself to care as she lost herself within the pleasure. Shamelessly she moaned out loud, not not even trying to keep quiet. That coil within her was beginning to unfurl.
“You are perfect,” Eris panted against her skin. “So perfect. You were made for me.”
“Just for you…” Y/N replied, pulling on the hair at the nape of his neck.
“Y/N,” Eris groaned as he spilled inside her.
The feeling of Eris filling her up pushed Y/N over that edge and she moaned loud as she came, chanting Eris’s name.
“My love,” Eris said as he slowly pulled out of her and onto the bed next to her, “you are always so perfect.”
Y/N laughed, slightly breathless. “In your eyes, is there anything about me that isn’t perfect?”
“There is absolutely nothing.”
“There has to be one thing,” Y/N insisted.
“There is not one thing about you that is not perfect– actually there is one thing. Your ability to bake, that is definitely not one of your talents,” Eris admitted.
Y/N gasped. “You said you loved the cake I made for Arella’s birthday.”
“That is because it wasn’t the cake you made,” Eris chuckled. “I brought Octavian with me to the bakery in town where I replaced yours with one that looked exactly like it.”
Y/N pushed Eris away playfully. “You diabolical male!”
Eris laughed and the sound was music to Y/N’s ears. She always enjoyed when he laughed, even if it was at her expense.
“I’m sorry, but it was just…not good,” Eris said, still laughing.
Y/N smiled. “Just for that, I am going to take a bath by myself.”
Before Y/N had the chance to climb out of the bed, Eris wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to his chest. “You are not going anywhere.”
Eris caressed her body gently, allowing her a chance to leave if she wanted to. But the moment his arms wrapped around her, Y/N melted into him. It was one of her many weaknesses when it came to Eris. The two continued to lay there in silence, the only sounds coming from the occasional bird chirp through the window.
“Thank you,” Eris mumbled against the top of her head, “for giving me the most perfect life.”
“What did I tell you about thanking me?” Y/N replied.
Eris rolled his eyes. “I know but genuinely thank you Y/N.”
Y/N sighed. “I should be thanking you. Before that night, I hated my life. My sisters didn’t seem to care about me anymore, I had no friends, I was simply…trapped. I wasn’t living the life I wanted to live. But you, Eris, gave me the opportunity to have the life I always dreamt of. I found you, the literal other half of my soul and without you, we wouldn’t have two beautiful children and another one on the way. I wouldn’t have this life if it wasn’t for you allowing me to stay that night. This whole life we live is because you allowed me to stay that night.”
Y/N shuffled her position so she was laying face to face with Eris. “So thank you, Eris. Thank you for giving me a home and thank you for seeing me when no one else did.”
The look of pure love on Eris’ face was one Y/N wished to have imprinted on her brain forever. The look was so tender and adoring. Y/N was sure she shared a similar expression on her face.
Eris caressed her face. “I love you so much.”
“I am happy to hear that, otherwise what we just did not long ago would be quite awkward,” Y/N jokes, causing Eris to let out a breathy laugh. “But I love you too, Eris. I never thought I could have so much love for someone before. But for you, for Arella, for Octaivan and for our next child. I love all of you so much.”
Eris pressed his lips against Y/N’s, his fingers tangled in her hair and Y/N sighed in delight when he scratched her scalp. Y/N only pulled away to whisper something against Eris’s lips.
“You are perfect, Eris.”
“And so are you, Y/N,” Eris whispered against her lips. “The most perfect female to ever exist.”
Y/N only kissed him again.

Supersons +1 prompt answer
If you asked Danny, 12 year old half-ghost hero of Amity Park, how half-life was going, he'd tell you things were mixed.
On the one hand, he had just spent the last three or four months in family/scientist/'this house is a death trap waiting to happen' therapy with Jazz, and by some miracle, it worked. He wasn't sure if this was some kind of dream as his parents poured over years upon years of research, crossing out lines, rewriting equations, and reevaulating everything they thought they knew about ghosts.
Was the shudders family therapy worth not going over how they'd like to dissect him? he's still not sure. The horror.
Not to mention the attention. Danny was sure he was going to throw up if his parents drag him away for more bonding time, only for a ghost to attack and for him to run off to transform. What made it worse was when the Fentons came barrelling out, guns blazing, alternating between getting mad that he'd interrupted their family time, and asking him questions about "Your suspicious spook culture, if you even have one you dangerous delusional delinquent!"
At least they were trying, but Danny was very much comfortable not spilling the beans on the whole half-ghost situation, thank you very much.
And that's why, when Dad proposed to take him to Gotham to show off their latest invention, he jumped at the chance. The home city of the Batman, one of the greatest heroes known to man (except for Martian Manhunter and Superman of course) and Dad promised to take him to Gotham Observatory too. Not to mention how much he wanted to get away from Jazz's smug looks of superiority. Gotham here he comes!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Damian Wayne scowled as he scanned the crowed of scientists with more smarts than sense. Really, a flying toilet seat. For what deviant?
"Maybe they're for people who can fly." Kent piped up beside him. Father had let the two of them run off together, and his company was mildly more appealing than being alone with his thoughts.
"Why would Superman ever need to relieve himself mid-air. I do not believe you would appreciate your father's rear end being on display for all the world to see."
"True." Jon hummed. His voice lowered to a whisper. "You think indecent exposure is what your dad meant by "scoping out any potential future villains?"
Damian gave Jon a flat look. The sooner this convention ended, the better.
The crowded shifted, and the mass of visitors pushed toward a certain corner, where a man large enough to rival Superman's build stood upon a podium, with a boy their age off to the side.
"Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you the latest in FentonWorks' innovations, the Fenton Ghost Zone Radar, soon to revolutionise the study of ghosts!"
"I thought ghosts were a magic thing." Jon said. "You know, stuff Constantine and JLD deal with."
"They are."
"Mixing magic and science is like, like, oil and water. No way this guy's serious, is he?"
"His name is Jack Fenton. That's Daniel Fenton, his son." Damian pointed to the boy in question, looking like he'd seen this scene a hundred times before, but with that knowing glint that promised something deeper. "They're normally spotted alongside Jack's wife, Madeline. Widely regarded as quacks by the larger scientific community for chasing paper-thin theories about ghosts, they've nonetheless gained funding from the government. This is the first time they've left their base of operations in Amity Park for years."
"Woah, you know your stuff, Dami!"
Damian glared at the young Superboy in disguise. "I read the briefing files. Didn't you?"
Kent looked uncomfortable and looked away. "Uhh, maybe?"
"Typical."
"Well, if he's so crazy, then why'd your dad even let him in." Upon another scathing glare, Kent relented. "Oh right, the whole supervillain thing."
"Enough chatter. We'll zero in on the younger Fenton. I intend to squeeze him like a grape, and make Father proud."
"Dami maybe you should be a little nicer-" Only for Damian to march off without him.
Honestly, inane niceties were above someone of his status. Those things were Superboy's job, and if Daniel Fenton wouldn't crack, then Damian was itching to try a new torture technique.
Breeding
Aged up!Olo’eyktan!Neteyam x Fem!Na’vi!Reader
kinkmas masterlist
Tumblr media
warnings: 18+ MDNI, p in v, breeding kink, making the bond :),
translations:
Tsakarem - Tsahik in training
Tsaheylu - the bond
After the war, The Sully’s thanked the Metkayina and returned home.
With the exception of Lo’ak, he stayed with the reef people to be with Tsireya.
Tarsem wanted to step down from Olo’eyktan, but Jake refused to take the role away from the younger man, so Tarsem placed the responsibility on Neteyam.
With Neytiri gone, Mo’at had to find the next Tsahik, you.
And so you became Tsakarem.
Neytiri always knew that she didn’t ever truly desire to be Tsahik, she always wanted to be a warrior, so she was secretly glad that you took over her role.
Nonetheless, The return of the Sully’s threw you for a loop.
Suddenly, your courtship with Tarsem had ended, and you were arranged to be mated with Neteyam. Which, you didn’t really mind, you just wanted to continue your duty to the clan, it didn’t matter to you who you mated with.
It felt so… domestic.
Watching you teach the kids of the clan different skills.
Weaving, sewing, carving, healing.
You seemed to know everything there was to know.
He knew that being you being Tsakarem, you needed to know all of those things and more.
He wanted them to be his children that you both would teach them everything you knew.
He would put twelve of them in you right now, if you asked.
“You have duties, Neteyam, focus.” His father interrupted his train of thought
“Yes. Sorry sir. What were you saying?” Neteyam looked back at him
Jake merely shook his head.
“You know, you watch her a lot.” Jake discreetly pointed at you
“She is to be my mate, of course I have to look at her.” Neteyam flushed
Jake laughed, again shaking his head, “No… the way you stare is, it’s something else.”
It was the absolute most pestering desire to put a baby in you.
“I don’t know… I don’t know much about her and… I’m curious.” He shrugged
Jake gave his son a knowing look, “What ever you say.”
It wasn’t like you were a stranger to him, you were friends before him and his family left, but now there’s a bit of a rift because of the sudden circumstances you’ve both been put in.
He caught you slipping out of Mo’at’s hut that night, a smile on his face as he realized you were alone.
“Oh! Neteyam! You scared me.” You sighed as he stepped our of the dark
“I’m sorry, syulang… didn’t mean to.” He circled you, like a predator that had cornered its prey
Eywa… what was he doing? He felt almost animalistic as he watched your chest rise and fall.
“You know… When it’s time, we’re gonna need to be really comfortable around each other.” Neteyam tilted his head down at you
“I’m comfortable with you Neteyam.” You replied, an indescribable look in your eye
Neteyam placed his hands on your hips, pulling you against him.
“I don’t know if you know…” He cleared his throat, trying to not notice how close you two were “But we’re supposed to… create the next leaders.”
You nod slightly “Of course.”
“That doesn’t bother you, right?” His hand gripped your hips roughly
“Of course not.” You answered
“You can always say no but, I want to start that process sooner, rather than later.” Neteyam watched your face for any doubt.
His voice is gentle as he speaks, but his words are heavy. He's telling you about his desire to have a baby with you, and he's trying desperately to convince you. You can tell he means it, but it's still a lot to take in.
You don't know what to say. Your heart is racing, and you're feeling overwhelmed. You want to tell him no, or that it was too soon, and on the other hand, you wanted to have a child with him and secure your spot in his life.
He looks into your eyes, and you can see the promise he's making. He'll be a good father and take care of you, you know he would.
You take a deep breath and slowly start to nod your head. You can feel your heart racing as you agree to what he's asking.
He takes your hands, pressing small kisses to them, feeling a sudden wave of warmth and comfort.
“Knew you’d do it.” He leaned in, kissing your neck
He leads you back to the hut that you two would soon share in the near future, laying you down on the soft, handmade mat that was adorned with different things given to Neteyam since he became Olo’eyktan.
“Neteyam…” You moan as he settled between your legs
“Hm? What is it?” He mumbled in between kisses you your neck and jaw
“Need- need to make Tsaheylu, to get pregnant.” You tell him
He pulls back with a smirk “I know.”
He pulls his kuru to dangle in front of you.
“You’re serious? Right now?” You can’t help but laugh
“Why not? Might be breaking a couple rules, but I want this… you want this. And why should we delay something that’s already predetermined?” He explained
“Right…” You nodded, reaching back to bring your own kuru to your front.
He brings his down to yours, you feel a tingling feeling as they seemed to have a pull on each other.
The tendrils danced around each other before joining together.
Your senses felt incredibly heightened, like you could suddenly feel every nerve in your body.
Neteyam leans down, kissing your lips with a fiery passion.
While he’s distracted you, he’s untying both you and his loincloths, discarding them across the hut. His broad shoulders and arms seem to completely cage you in.
Everything was him.
You were feeling him, tasting him, seeing him, smelling him, hearing him.
Him. Him. Him.
He’s gotten you naked now, a small pinch of insecurity is nagging at you but you brush it away as soon as he begins to mumble little praises under his breath.
He pulls away from you, leaning back on his knees in between your leg as he tried to guide the thick tip of his cock to your entrance.
He watches as it goes in, little by little. His jaw hangs open as a breathy groan emits from his throat.
“Fuck- So fucking tight.” His eyes shut for half a second
He looks back down to you as he was leaning in, his arms caging you in once again.
“Baby…” He moans, “Too much?”
You shake your head no.
“Squeezing me so much…” He growled “Here, play with that clit for me, relax baby.”
Tears brim your eyes, feeling overwhelmed by new feelings and new sensations all at once.
“Oh my poor baby.” Neteyam mumbled, his hand finding the back of your head and pulling you into his shoulder.
He gives you a second before he pulled your head back, and placed a kiss on your lips.
As he held you against himself, he began to thrust into you, small and slow thrusts, but just enough to get you whining.
“Play with your clit baby, don’t you dare stop.” He growled at you
You listen, desperately rubbing at your clit.
Neteyam uses his thumb to wipe the tears from your eyes, whispering to you how good you feel.
“Gonna stretch this tight ass pussy out…” He moaned “Gonna make this pussy remember me.”
“Neteyam…” You whine “I need it.”
“Shh, I know baby.” He comforted you, as he nestled his head in your neck and placed gentle kisses on it
His thrusts slowly sped up, making your whines louder.
“Yeah there it goes.” Neteyam chuckled “You can cum on it. Cum on it baby.”
You let out a particularly loud moan as you came on his cock. Your head turned to the side where you held onto his bicep for dear life, leaning forward and let your teeth sink into his sweaty skin.
He tasted like a sweet and salty mixture, something indescribable.
He yelped in pain, his head dropped down to your neck, breathing heavily as he continued to roughly thrust into you.
Once you released him, he pulled back from you, a smile on his lips as he saw your fucked out face.
“Oh look at you.” His hand came up to rest on your cheek, and he began to gently caress your cheek with his thumb.
“Feels so good!” You cry to him
“I know, fuck I know.” He groaned “Gonna cum baby, gonna fucking cum in you.”
You threw your head back at his words, too many feelings all at once that made you feel so intensely overwhelmed. As if they’d never stopped, your tears began to roll again. Your legs wrapped around his waist as a sob escaped your lips.
He put his forehead against yours and pushed your hair out of your face, his eyes full of sympathy.
“It’s alright.” He whispered “Just be a good girl..”
“It’s too much.” You cried
“I know, I’m about to cum, hang on for me.” He moaned “Gonna make you get pregnant… Gonna breed this tight little pussy until it takes.”
Your fingers dug into his shoulders, continuous moan falling from your lips as his thrusts speed up. He’s completely relentless, whispering praises into your ear.
“Oh, Oh my- fuck I’m cumming.” He growled “Cumming in this little pussy… Gonna give you all of my kids…”
He whispered dirty promises to you until you felt the warmth of his cum fill you. You cry out to him from the new sensation, holding onto him firmly.
Even after he’s done, he doesn’t pull out. Opting to instead roll the both of you on your sides and pulling you closer together.
“Gonna fill you up every day until it takes.” He tiredly whispered to you
“A threat or promise?” You jokingly tease him
“Take it as you will.” He shrugged
“Will Leon finally come with us to school tomorrow?” Dash quietly asks, interrupting the silence that settled over the both of you as you were just about to fall asleep. You look down and are greeted by open eyes, his little head propped up on your arm as he snuggles up with a teddy bear.
“He was busy the last time and the time before that but he said he’ll make it up to us,” he added. “Did you ask him again? He might’ve forgotten about tomorrow.”
You stroke his hair, pressing a light kiss to his hairline as you try to lull him to sleep.
“Mhm, he said that he’s good to go tomorrow. Leon’s excited coz it’s going to be his first time tomorrow,” you say in a hushed tone. You don’t need to open your eyes to know that he’s grinning wide, too excited to fall asleep easily now.
“I should go ask Leon–”
“No, he’s probably asleep in his own room. It’ll be impolite to disturb him, right?” you ask in a sing-song voice.
“Yeah,” he mutters somewhat dejectedly though not upset about the fact.
“How about tomorrow morning instead, over breakfast?”
He nods and mumbles a quick goodnight, turning over to face the wall as he wills himself to fall asleep.
If his father was still in the picture, he would be the one accompanying the both of you to tomorrow’s parent-teacher conference. Unfortunately he bowed out of the picture as soon as you were discharged, nowhere to be found until you heard that he was probably somewhere tropical on a boat with another woman. You were left behind lost and directionless, confused on how to raise a baby alone; you really thought that you were set with him and your small family but people always change, no matter the circumstance. Fortunately, you have a doting childhood best friend who was ready to step into the picture as a stand-in for a father figure despite having little to no experience with little kids, much less newborns: Leon. He was young as well but he took his part seriously and practically raised your bundle of joy alongside you– volunteering to wake up at various points at night for feeding, bathing, and tagging along for monthly check-ups. His bond with Dash is so close that upon first look, people often assumed that the two were biologically related. Teething was far from easy– many nights Dash's crying seemed endless with a steady flow of tears, nothing seemed to calm him down yet he stayed patient and helped you throughout. Now, he’s happy that the baby that once puked on his blues is growing up to be a strong and cheerful child.
Leon did everything he could to be there just so Dash could feel that he had a complete set of parents during family activities. He dismissed the judgemental glances of other mothers upon seeing the three of you, you and him looking far younger than everyone else but he could care less– what do they know about your family anyway? The blond promised the kid that he would come along for the first parent-teacher conference but unfortunately he was paged in for an important shift, one that he couldn’t refuse so he had to apologize profusely and promise another time. Much to his dismay, he was placed in another important shift and couldn’t opt out once more. As much as he praised and appreciated the kid’s display of maturity and understanding, he felt like a real jerk for being unable to stick to his promise the second time around even if he couldn’t do anything about it. You assured him that it’s all fine and that he can make up for it through other things, like taking him for a walk in the park or getting him a new toy. As soon as you show him the circular for the third meeting, he spends the entire week heavily wishing that nothing goes wrong within the week so he can finally be there for the kid he considers his son. In his excitement, he digs out a rare-used light blue button up and navy blue slacks, ironing them and asking if they’re appropriate for the occasion if paired with white sneakers.
The car is buzzing with excitement and positivity, you and Dash sat together at the back while Leon drives. Dash’s favorite songs are playing on the radio, courtesy of Leon asking him to list down his favorites so he can have them burned into a CD so he’ll have something to put on when your sweet little boy goes on a ride with him. His gaze flits from the road to the rear view mirror, chuckling quietly to himself when he sees the two of you engage in a lively conversation. Both of your laughter is unguarded and free of self-consciousness, a hearty and throaty sound straight from the heart; your lips are pulled back to form a smile that rivals the sun, your cheeks lift and forms two round apples with a beauty and glow that prompts him to release a breath he didn’t know he was holding. Leon thinks that undeniably, Dash is a 100 percent a mama’s boy: the tilt of his grin is like yours, along with your habit of tilting your head back with every bubbly laugh, and the tendency to clap your hands. In no time, Leon arrives at the school’s parking lot and finds an empty space to park in.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────
“I see that dad’s here,” Mrs. Perkins comments as she sees Dash carried in Leon’s arms. She softly smiles, offering a seat to the both of you before extending her hand to shake his. You and Leon take a moment to exchange flustered sheepish looks, matching rosy flushes reddening your cheeks and the tips of your ears. Dash grins and giggles, covering his grin with his hand as he looks on at this adorably awkward scene unfold.
“He’s not–”
“I’m not–”
The teacher looks at the both of you and chuckles softly as she clasps her hands together. “Yes?”
“I’m Dash’s uncle, actually– his mom’s best friend. I’m Leon Kennedy by the way,” he awkwardly clarifies as he shakes her hand.
“Ooh, good day mister Kennedy! It’s nice to see you.”
Mrs. Perkins doesn’t appear to buy the whole ‘mom’s best friend’ thing, shooting you two a knowing look before she pulls her hand back from the handshake and gestures for you both to take a seat.
The meet-up goes well; the teacher is full of praise and pride in your son’s academic performance; she remarks that he is quite bright for his age– he knows a lot of words that his peers don’t know yet, asks questions atypical for his age, and is very well-known for his creativity when it comes to arts and crafts activities. Leon’s heart only swells even more when he notices that you’ve reached over to hold his hand, squeezing rhythmically. He breaks his gaze from the teacher to take a moment and study your face; your dimples– two perfect indentations in the side of both cheeks– appear as you try to press your lips into a tight smile though he notes the expressive shimmer in your eyes, your joy contagious. He can’t help but let  out a soft chuckle, squeezing your hand back. He gives the little boy a high-five before ruffling his head in a display of affection.
“We’ve got a little Einstein in our hands,” Leon jokes once the teacher concludes her remarks. “Well done bud, we’re proud of you!”
As a reward for his academic performance, you and Leon treat him to ice cream. Though you’re taking initiative to pay for the snack since you can afford to do so, Leon persists on paying for everyone. After a little while, Dash insists on going to the playground and you both agree to let him play for a few hours until he wants to stop. Your best friend insists on being the one to watch over, giving you time to sit down and rest up for a bit while Leon plays and runs around with your son, madly entertaining Dash. An hour or two later, the pair returns back to you for a water break to catch their breaths for a moment. As you wipe your son’s little face, he asks a question.
“Mama, why isn’t Leon my dad?” He asks in such an innocent voice. You hear a muffled choke come from your side, a tomato-faced Leon trying to conceal his coughing. “Doesn’t he want to be my dad? He’s here for both of us and he loves us too.”
You stare at him with a surprised expression while Leon clears his throat, clearly just as taken aback as you. Children are such upfront little people.
“Leon, you love us right?” He asks with expectant eyes.
“Yes, buddy. So, so much.”
You look up at Leon and give him a soft smile and he returns a shaky yet genuine smile of his own.
“Mom, do you love Leon?”
“What? Of course I do! He’s my best friend! We’ve been friends ever since we were as small as you were! Right, Leon?”
“Yup! We’re just very close friends, we care for each other y’know.” A pang rattles Leon’s heart– whatever you said shouldn’t sting this much but it does and he feels embarrassed. “I’ll just throw this bottle. I’ll be back guys.”
You watch as Leon walks over to the bin, the sweat on his hair glistening under the afternoon sun. It’s only right for you to hand him a towel and get him some more water.
“Even Mrs. Perkins thinks he’s my dad,” Dash quietly mumbles to himself as he fumbles with his shoe laces right before you bend down and help him out. Leon returns and asks Dash if he’s ready to go, to which he responds enthusiastically before they go running to the swings once again.
“Leon!” You exclaim before he gets too far. He turns around and you toss him a towel, to which he smiles at the gesture before wiping his cheeks and forehead. As he turns back, you wished that you had handed it to him instead so your hands would brush by accident.
As you sit and watch on to the sight of two of the most important people in your life, both with endearingly gleaming smiles as they run around, it deeply occurs to you just how deeply Leon’s life is woven with yours and Dash’s; he treated Dash as if he were his own, offering sleepless nights of support and assistance for when things get rough. Although you were hesitant to accept help from him, especially since you saw your baby as a responsibility you should take on alone, he stepped into the father-figure role naturally. He’s become everything you both needed without even trying; his kindness, endless patience, and humor– it’s all just the small bits of a love you’re beginning to see. You’ve been leaning on him in ways that feel less like friendship and more like something else, something fiercer and more potent and it scares you because the last thing you want to be is to depend on him entirely, feeling like a freeloader. As he playfully lifts your son up into his arms, you’re struck with an emotion you can’t ignore– a feeling both powerful and terrifying. Every instance of his support, every sacrifice he made, all the moments he showed up when no one else would– your affections have quietly been growing all along. You smile at him, chuckling to yourself as the depth of your own feelings stun you.
“Mama!” Dash calls out, waving. “Come play with us!”
“Yeah!” Leon adds, cupping his hands around his mouth. “It’ll be fun!”
“Alright, alright!” You say, skipping over to them.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────
The playground trip lasted all afternoon, effectively tiring out your hyper little bundle of joy who is now fast asleep in Leon’s arms. You both agree to call it a day, walking back to the car to put him in his child seat. He checks on you too but you reassure him that you’re fine and happy that Dash’s happy.
“It’s no biggie,” Leon says in a hushed voice as he gives you a boyish grin. “I’m glad I finally got to come along.”
“Thanks,” you tell him. “I’m glad too. I haven’t seen him this energetic in a while.”
The soft hum of the engine blends with the rustle of the wind outside, filling the quiet car with a sense of peace as everyone finds themselves content with the day’s activities. You rest your head against the window, the cool glass a soothing contrast to the warmth on your cheeks. Leon drives with a quiet focus, fingers occasionally drumming against the steering wheel to an imaginary melody in his mind. He glances over with a small smile, to which you return as your tired eyes meet briefly. Sometime along the drive, Leon gently breaks the silence.
“His teacher thought we were his parents back there,” he recounts. “Does she know about…”
You know he’s hinting at whether or not Dash’s teacher knows about the situation between you and his biological father.
“No, she doesn’t. I prefer to keep things private,” you respond.
“Yeah, I totally understand it but uh… she got me kind of nervous earlier.”
Your heart rate spikes up, realizing that he felt the same as you did– flustered and giddy.
“Same, I didn’t realize that some people would see us like that.”
“Maybe we’re just so compatible with each other that people think we’re married or something,” he jokes but the streetlight briefly shines on his face, revealing a bloom of pink on his cheeks.
“Well if people think we’re married, maybe we’re giving off very convincing chemistry,” you say with a grin and a raise of an eyebrow.
Not too long after, you both arrive back home. You move to unbuckle Dash and gently rouse him as you carry him inside before washing him up. Leon finishes up with securing his car and offers to pat him dry as you put away his bath soaps. After getting him dressed and settled into bed, you take the time to look after yourself and have a bath. You hear the second bathroom door click shut right before the high-pitched creak of the shower handle so Leon must’ve gone to shower now, probably just as worn-out as your son is.
Leon’s always admired how you handle everything gracefully– the late nights, endless responsibilities– wondering how you do it all without crumbling under the immense pressure. It’s impossible for him to ignore his heart ache with something he’s dreamt of for so long, all the feelings he’s kept under lock and key out of fear that he’ll fuck everything up if he lets even a small sliver of it slip out. He finds himself admiring you more than he should, that unspoken affection that’s more than just concern for a dear friend growing over time with each shared laughter, tears, and struggle. He’s remained loyal by your side as a best friend and a fun father-figure to Dash but he catches his mind constantly slip into the idea of being more than just your best friend, someone you can lean on as a partner– to be the one to hold you when you’re tired and takes care when you and your son are both tired for as long as he can. These thoughts scare him because Leon doesn’t want to risk the bonds you three have formed but he can’t help but wonder if you’ll see him the way he sees you. He doesn’t want to make you any more upset and distrusting, especially with the absence of Dash’s biological father; he can’t help but feel a wave of protective anger rush over him at the thought of someone walking away from his best friend and her son but in that moment when Mrs. Perkins referred to him as Dash’s dad, a fizzy sense of belonging spread through him. In that moment, he allowed himself to indulge in the thoughts of actually stepping into that role, to be there for both of them in a way that you clearly both needed and deserved but he guesses that you’re hesitant on the idea of having a partner again so he swallows his feelings and prioritizes yours first.
He hears the door to the bathroom open up, footfalls fading to the direction of your bedroom. Leon gets up from his spot on the couch and heads upstairs, spotting you; you’re in your sleep clothes, towel-drying your hair as you walk to your room.
“Hey,” he softly begins as he fumbles with a loose thread on the hem of his sleep shirt. “Do you wanna sit outside on the porch with me? It’s fine if you don’t, I know it’s been a long day.”
As good as sleeping sounds, a personal one-on-one time with Leon sounds somehow better. It’s been a long time since you’ve both spent some time together– talking about nonsense and something other than work, so it’ll be a nice moment to catch up despite literally living together.
“I’m good with that,” you respond. “Just hold on though, I’m drying my hair.”
“Okay,” he exhales with a smile. “I’ll wait outside!”
You swiftly wring the water out of your hair and brush it before you throw on a sweatshirt then head out. You pass Dash’s room once more and he’s still out like a light, soft hushed snores filling the otherwise silent room. All the lights in the house are out and everything is still and peaceful. You see Leon’s frame sitting on the porch, hands braced on both his sides as he stretches his tartan pajama-clad legs.
“Hey, you.”
He turns around and pats the spot beside him. “Hey, yourself.”
You sit beside him and do some stretching of your own, yawning as you do so. The cold breeze tickles your face and sends a few strands of Leon’s bangs poking upwards.
“I just wanna sit in here until the morning comes,” he says with a wistful sigh as he shakes his head, trying to get his bangs to move out of his eyes.
“I wouldn’t mind, honestly. As long as it’s with you,” you gently nudge him with your elbow.
“Even if I’ll crack the corniest jokes?”
“Especially with your corniest jokes.”
A short silence befalls the both of you before the blond beside you pipes up again.
“Hey, if we’ll still be taking the time at night to sit on this porch twenty years from now, what do you think we’ll be talking about?”
You hum in thought, fingers drumming against the steps.
“I dunno, but I know you’re probably still making me laugh. I’d be on board with that.”
He chuckles, a hushed release of air. Silence settles again as both of you take in the scenery in front– an empty road, swaying tree leaves, and the sparkle of stars overhead amidst the clear sky. Sitting on a porch is a fairly plain activity, one that you have done quite often and way before Dash arrived in your life but doing these with Leon always felt exceptionally different; back in childhood, this was your thing every Friday night– you, him, and what appeared to be the best view in town in your small corner of the universe. Stars, the breeze, and your favorite person right by your side is all you ever needed to unwind after a long day.
“His fiancé invited me to their wedding,” you quietly admit. You catch Leon’s head turning to face you, interest evident in his face.
“Who?” he asks.
“Oh, you know. Him, my ex. They’re getting married. I don’t even know how she found me.”
Leon’s face falls, eyes glinting with some form of pity. He moves closer to you, arm pressed against yours as he moves to wrap you into a snug hug.
“I’m fine, Leon, seriously. I’ve moved on. I don’t want anything to do with him and neither does my son so I don’t think I ever have to see him again. I’ve healed and I’m moving on,” you firmly say but you don’t make an effort to push him off, sinking into his hug instead.
“I know. You’re very brave and strong and you handle everything like a champ but this is still really insensitive of them to do,” his voice comes out slightly muffled.
“I blocked her number and account on all platforms I could find her so she’ll never reach me again,” you reassure him with a grin. “So don’t worry about me getting my heart broken, okay? I know better than to talk to that good-for-nothing, piece of shit.”
You smile at the slight jostle of Leon’s frame, knowing that he’s laughing at you calling your ex a piece of shit as you hug him back, resting your chin on his shoulder as you smile in contentment.
“You deserve someone better than that and don’t worry, if he pulls something stupid I’m going to sock him in the nuts,” he declares.
“Sounds like a plan,” you laugh. “And for the record, I think I know someone who’s definitely better than that.”
“Who?”
“You.”
“Me?”
“Yup.”
“I’m taking this as a pretty big compliment. I guess I’ll have to prove it to you, huh?” His voice is warm as he rubs the back of his neck, a mechanism he does when he’s flustered.
“Yeah, and you’ve got plenty of time to prove it to me since you’re going to be stuck with me forever,” you joke back.
“That sounds like shit,” Leon loudly says, which earns a shove from you. “Ow!”
“Shut up, as if you wouldn’t be bored and lost without me.”
“Fair point,” he concedes.
The night drags on with you and him engaging in friendly banter and in an unspoken competition to make the other snort mid-chortle. With each number the short hand of a clock points to, the solitude that the night offers turns into the perfect opportunity to say things that you two would normally be shy to talk about. You’re not sure if it’s the exhaustion that’s clouding both your judgements or the howl of the wind against your ears but you’re slightly thankful that it led to this moment.
“I’m getting kind of tired,” you say.
“Me too,” Leon agrees, dusting off his pants after long hours of laughing as he gets ready to get up and call it a night.
“No, not just that…”
Leon looks over to you concerned, features losing the smile it had and replaced with a look of urgency and concern. “You alright?”
“I’m just… I’m getting tired of pretending that I don’t want to kiss you every time you smile like that,” you admit as a heat creeps up to your face as if you were sitting near a bonfire. He’s stunned silent now, staring at you with an intense gaze and for some reason, this prompts you to go on.
“I want to finally say things that I’ve only ever said to you in my head and it sounds crazy but not as crazy as I am about you.”
Leon sat frozen like a deer caught in headlights, mind racing in circles and each thought colliding while all he could do was stare wide-eyed and madly flustered. Your stomach feels pitted when you see the shock on Leon’s face, an icky regret creeping up to engulf you in shame and self-loathing. A lump lodges in your throat as you scramble to form words to apologize to him.
“No, no, it’s not that– I swear. It’s just that I’m really, really caught off-guard because me too,” his words tumble out. “I mean, I feel the same way. I’ve loved you for a while now and I just didn’t know how to say or deal with it because I thought that you wouldn’t be open to dating.”
Despite the quake in his palms, he takes your hand in his and gives it a grounding squeeze.
“I didn’t want to say anything or act on how I felt because I was afraid that I’d ruin everything that we formed together and I’d lose you forever. It’s funny how my whole life I have loved you and I was completely fine with us being best friends.”
His words draw a small chuckle from you, the swarm of butterflies fluttering wildly in your stomach. You feel as if you’re stuck in a rapidly turning whirlwind, your world spinning with each glance of his affectionate smile.
“If you’d let me, I’d love to be there for you and Dash.” He says with a determined expression. “I want to be someone you can depend on in a way beyond close friends, if you’ll have me. I’ll always be here.”
You thought that you were too complicated, that no one would willingly take on the challenge of your little family but here is Leon, sharing his heart and devotion and now it all makes perfect sense. You and Dash deserve someone like him, someone who loved the both of you wholly and saw you both as someone to love and protect and not just another obligation.. It was the kind of love you thought you could never ever have, the sort that you’d quietly given up on. Tonight has shown that you could finally allow him to be the partner and father that he already was at heart. The sensation of his thumb brush against your knuckles brought you back on this porch, met with such a tender gaze that your breath caught in your chest. He leaned in closer but only hovered above your lips in such dizzying proximity, your answer coming out in a shaky yet soft exhale as your lips meet in a seal to a new promise as the rest of the world melted away.
Random Fic Idea
Since I've been seeing more people reading this post, just a heads up: the fic has been made.
______________________________________________________________
You know, we have a lot of 'Villain Chat Noir' AU fics, but is there any that have it be positive?
Like, Adrien getting to work along side his father actually leads to more father/son bonding because their villain identities are both goofy drama queens who finally found something they have in common. As well as both having outlets for the frustration of what they have to pretend to be in their real lives.
In the day time, Gabriel is sitting in his office, lecturing Adrien about upholding the Agreste name and dolling out his strict schedule. By night, Hawkmoth and Chat Noir are hold up in the lair, brainstorming puns and quips while Chat gently tells him to stop akumatizing Mr. Pigeon.
Their version of a fishing trip is stealing from the Dupain Bakery. "We're rich, can't we just pay?" "No, because we're evil." *Chat proceeds to leave money on the counter anyway.*
Gabriel coldly reprimands Adrien for getting anything less than an A, while Hawkmoth akumatizes the teacher who dared give his son a B+.
Ladybug is like 'Oh my god, there's two of them.' as Chat and Hawkmoth synchronise their team rocker-ass intro speeches and Mayura's just shaking her head because she has to live with these two goobers.
Gabriel's making a snobbish speech about those damn hooligans wasting their time with silly shenanigans, all while Adrien's resisting the urge to laugh 'cus Hawkmoth akumatized a baby yesterday and spent half of the fight trying to get the baby to pronounce his name right.
Master Fu wonders what horrors the villains are putting his innocent kwamis through, and it just cuts to Nooroo and Plagg dropping the beat.
Chat: *Starts helping old ladies across the street.* Hawkmoth: I knew that Marinette Dupain Cheng was a bad influence on you!
FAMILY BUSINESS
"My Little Cocoa Bean" Series
Willy was absolutely smitten by his "little cocoa bean," Benjamin. You called him Ben for short, but Willy affectionately called him Bean. He stayed home from the factory for a bit to help you recover and bond with the baby. He made the most of his limited time off doting on you both. Unless Ben was feeding, he was in Willy's arms. He was truly a devoted, loving father and husband.
Tumblr media
Willy went back to work when Ben was about three weeks old. It was an adjustment to be alone with the baby all day, but it made Willy's returns in the evening all the more sweeter. After about six months, he came home with an idea.
"Now that he is a little older and more sturdy, why don't I take Bean with me to work one or two days a week so that you can have some time to yourself?" Willy not-so-secretly struggled going back to work, often lamenting how much he missed you both, but he knew he had to provide for his family.
"Oh my. I love the concept, but how are you going to handle business or have your hands free to make chocolate?" you asked as it took both of your hands to keep Ben from launching himself out of your lap to get to his papa.
"Easy!" Willy exclaimed as he scooped up the baby. "I saw Lottie today, and she had little Georgie tied to her chest with a wrap. Then it clicked - I could do that, too! Besides, babies are good for business! He's so cute, he'll draw a crowd," he mused as he squished his nose against Ben's chubby cheek, then turned to you with a pouty lip.
"I guess we could give it a try. Maybe start with a half day?" you said, excited about the potential but nervous about its execution. You loved your husband, but you were not sure he fully understood what he was in for. You did, however, always admire his determination to get what he wanted in life, even if he resorted to playing on your sympathies with a pout.
"Great! I already went by the store to get fabric to make a sling." You shook your head fondly and went about your evening routine.
Thanks to his mamma's teachings, Willy was handy with a needle and thread. A couple of nights later, his contraption was ready for testing at home. Ben was quite cozy snuggled up on his father's chest, gently babbling while Willy washed the dishes after dinner. Everything was going swimmingly. "Tomorrow would be a good day to try this out for real," he said. "I don't have any business meetings, so I'll just be splitting my time between the stores and the factory."
"Ok," you said tentatively. "I'll get his bag ready and write down his daytime schedule." The next morning, you loaded Willy down with everything he would need - extra clothes for both father and son, burp cloths, bottles, diapering supplies, etc. "So he'll need to eat again in a couple of hours. That will probably be when he needs another diaper change. And he'll need to go down for a na..."
Willy put a hand on your arm to interrupt you, rubbing up and down to calm your nerves. "I've got this. Okay? I want you to focus on enjoying your alone time." Admittedly, you were looking forward to a chance to curl up with a good book without intertuption for a few hours.
"Alright, Bean, ready for some adventure?" The baby cooed and raspberried spit all over Willy's hand. "I'll take that as a yes. Allons-y! Wave bye to mamma!"
"Bye bye, my boys. Have a good day!" You stood at the front door and waved them off.
<><><><>
Willy stopped first at his flagship store in the Galeries Gourmet to ensure things were in order. Mrs. Pennington, a regular customer always in the company of her granddaughter, spotted the chocolatier. "Well, hello there, Mrs. Pennington, Miss Hannah," he greeted and tipped his hat at the ladies. "Are you finding everything okay?"
"Indeed, Mr. Wonka. Thank you," the grandmother smiled. "And who is this handsome little one?" Ben babbled and cooed.
"This is my son, Bean. I mean, Benjamin," Willy replied with a proud smile.
"Oh, how lovely. Learning the family business early, eh?"
"As my mamma said, 'It's not the chocolate that matters. It's the people you share it with.'"
"I remember when my children were that little. Soak it up, Mr. Wonka. It doesn't last long." She patted the baby on the cheek and then continued her shopping. Willy turned around to wipe away a tear and kiss his son on the head.
Ben seemed to enjoy interacting with customers, smiling at their baby talk and staring around the store with wide eyes. But after a couple of hours, he started to fuss. The cashier was on break, so Willy was working the register, bouncing the baby in an attempt to silence his whimpers until he could break away to make a bottle. "Would you like your change spendable or edible?" He practically had to shout at the customers to be heard over Ben's fussing. Luckily the cashier came back before fussing became screaming.
"Okay, Bean, give me just a second and we'll silence those tummy grumbles," he said as he made his way to the stockroom. He deftly prepped a bottle and freed the baby from the sling. Very soon, Ben was reclining in Willy's arms and greedily sucking down a bottle. "See, I told your mamma I've got this."
<><><><>
Once Ben was fed and changed, Willy packed up the diaper bag and set out for the factory. Lulled by his father's swaying, Ben stayed asleep for a good while even after being transferred into the bassinet Willy had set up in his office. Inventing and chocolate making weren't exactly quiet endeavors, so Willy caught up on a bit of bookkeeping instead.
Ben eventually started stirring, alerting Willy with his soft coos. "Hi, sleepy head. Are you ready to go make some chocolate?" Willy set him back in the sling and made his way to the Idea Lab. Feeling refreshed from his nap, the little one was very alert, so Willy thought it would be fun to make this an interactive experience.
"Alright, Bean, I need to come up with something new, and you're going to help me," Willy announced while holding up two jars. "Which jar should I start with?" Of course, Ben's attention was grabbed by the brighest color of the two. "Ooh, essence of rainbow. Good call. What next?" he asked, continuing to hold up two jars at a time for the baby to choose from until he gathered enough.
Willy added the ingredients to his travel factory, which he still used for small batch experiments. Ben stared in wonder as the brightly colored liquids flowing down the spiral tube and giggled at the production noises. Willy was busy pressing buttons and pulling levers when the first chocolates came out of the machine and didn't pay close enough attention to Ben's stray hands. Willy looked down to see the baby's tiny hand grabbing and mashing melted chocolate into the fabric of the sling, his hair, and both of their shirts.
"Well, now I understand why your mother sent spare clothes for both of us." He wiped chocolate off his son's cheek with a finger and licked it. "Tastes good, though! I need to write that concoction down."
<><><><>
You were sitting on the couch with your book when Willy came home at lunchtime. Both boys and even their spare clothes were covered in chocolate. You had to stifle a giggle as you tried to figure out how to best grab the sticky baby without getting covered yourself.
Willy gave you a tired look but also huffed a quiet laugh. "I may have overestimated my ability to keep things under control. I don't know how you get anything done, my sweet. I always knew you were amazing, but you must have superhuman powers."
"Perhaps," you winked as you stripped Ben out of his clothes and started rinsing him off in the sink. "Are you sure you still want to make this a regular occurrence?"
"I would do it again in a heartbeat. But not before I have a bath."
Event Of Games - Benedict Bridgerton
Word Count: 1673
Summary: When one plays a game with their family, their children are rather happy to join, are they not?
Tumblr media
The sun hung high in the sky, casting a golden glow over the lush grounds of Aubrey Hall, the Bridgerton family estate.
Summer was in full swing, and the garden was abuzz with the laughter and chatter of the Bridgerton clan.
The air was filled with the scent of blooming flowers, and the vibrant green of the lawns stretched out, a perfect stage for the day’s entertainment, a game of Pall Mall.
Benedict Bridgerton, the artistic and ever-charming second son, stood beside you.
You had been married for several years, and your bond had only grown stronger with time.
Today, you were preparing to engage in one of your favorite pastimes.
Pall Mall, a game known for its competitive spirit and the potential for light-hearted mischief, had been a staple of your gatherings for as long as anyone could remember.
Your children, however, had never played before.
As Benedict adjusted the mallet in his hands, his eyes sparkled with the thrill of introducing them to the game.
Your eldest, Samuel, a boy of eight with his father's dark hair and your lively eyes, bounced on the balls of his feet, his excitement barely contained.
Beside him stood seven-year-old Eliza, her hair shimmering in the sunlight.
She clutched a mallet that was nearly as tall as she was, her eyes wide with anticipation.
“Papa, when do we start?” Samuel asked, his voice ringing with eagerness.
Benedict chuckled, ruffling his son's hair. “Patience, my boy. First, we need to make sure everyone knows the rules.”
You were standing beside Benedict with an affectionate smile. “And that means everyone. No sneaky maneuvers, Benedict.”
Benedict feigned innocence, placing a hand over his heart. “Why, my dear, I would never.”
You arched an eyebrow, your expression skeptical but amused. “Of course not.”
As you spoke, the rest of the Bridgerton siblings began to gather.
Anthony, the eldest, was already striding across the lawn, his authoritative presence as commanding as ever.
Kate, followed, her eyes twinkling with the promise of competition.
Next came Colin, the third brother, his roguish grin a clear sign that he was ready for some fun.
As Penelope, walked beside him, her red hair catching the light as she whispered something that made him laugh.
Daphne, the eldest sister, arrived with her husband, Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings.
Their children ran ahead, joining Samuel and Eliza, the new generation of Bridgertons blending seamlessly with the old.
Eloise, ever the independent spirit, sauntered over with her characteristic nonchalance, while Francesca joined.
Gregory and Hyacinth, the youngest of the Bridgerton siblings, were already by the makeshift Pall Mall course, inspecting the mallets and balls with a mixture of curiosity and mischief.
Gregory, in particular, had a glint in his eye that suggested he was already plotting his strategy.
Anthony clapped his hands together, drawing everyone’s attention. “All right, everyone. Gather round. It’s time for a quick refresher on the rules.”
You all formed a loose circle, the children pushing their way to the front to get a better view.
“First and foremost,” Anthony began, “Pall Mall is about skill, precision, and a healthy dose of cunning.”
“Not to mention the occasional bit of sabotage,” Colin interjected with a wink.
Penelope nudged him playfully. “No sabotaging the children, Colin.”
Anthony continued, ignoring his brother’s interruption. “The objective is simple, to get your ball through the wickets and to the final stake with as few strokes as possible.”
You took over, addressing the children. “You’ll each take turns hitting your ball with the mallet. The trick is to aim carefully and not use too much force.”
“Or too little,” Benedict added. “You don’t want your ball to stop short.”
Eliza raised her hand, her brow furrowed in concentration. “What if someone’s ball is in the way?”
Kate grinned, her competitive spirit flaring. “Ah, that’s where the fun begins. You can use your ball to knock others out of the way.”
Samuel’s eyes lit up at the prospect. “You mean we can hit each other’s ball?”
“Yes, but within reason,” Daphne interjected, her tone motherly. “We don’t want any injuries.”
“Or broken mallets,” Simon added dryly.
With the rules explained, you all moved to the starting point.
The course was laid out across the lawn, with wickets placed at strategic intervals and the final stake positioned near a large oak tree at the far end.
Benedict and you took your positions at the front, ready to demonstrate the first strokes for your children.
“Watch closely,” Benedict said, positioning his ball. “It’s all about a smooth, controlled swing.”
He drew back the mallet and swung, sending the ball rolling smoothly through the first wicket.
You followed suit, your ball taking a slightly different angle but achieving the same result.
“Your turn, Samuel,” Benedict said, handing his son a mallet.
Samuel stepped up, his face a mask of determination.
He swung with a bit too much enthusiasm, and his ball careened off course, missing the wicket by a wide margin.
He looked up, crestfallen.
“It’s okay,” Benedict reassured him. “You’ll get the hang of it.”
Eliza was next.
She took a deep breath, her small hands gripping the mallet tightly. Her swing was more controlled, and while her ball didn’t go through the wicket, it was closer than Samuel’s had been.
“Well done, Eliza,” you praised. “Just a little more practice.”
As the children took turns, you all began your own game, the competitive banter starting almost immediately.
“Remember the last time we played, Colin?” Anthony said with a sly smile. “I believe I won by a rather large margin.”
Colin scoffed. “Only because you ‘accidentally’ knocked my ball into the rose bushes.”
“I recall that quite differently,” Anthony retorted, lining up his shot. “Skill and strategy, brother.”
Kate laughed, stepping up to take her shot. “If we’re talking strategy, I think we all know who the real mastermind is.”
“Me?” Gregory said, feigning surprise. “I’m flattered.”
Hyacinth rolled her eyes. “You wish, Gregory.”
The game continued, your competitive spirits tempered by the joy of being together.
The children quickly improved under the watchful eyes and encouraging words of you, Benedict, and their aunts and uncles.
Samuel’s frustration melted away as he started to get the hang of it, his swings becoming more precise.
Eliza’s confidence grew with each successful hit, her laughter ringing out whenever she managed to get her ball through a wicket.
As the sun began its slow descent, casting long shadows across the lawn, the game grew more intense.
The final wickets and the last stake loomed ahead, and the older Bridgertons’ playful teasing turned into more serious strategies.
Anthony, ever the leader, was ahead, his strokes measured and deliberate.
Kate was close behind, her competitive nature driving her to match her husband’s skill.
Colin and Penelope were locked in a friendly rivalry, each trying to outdo the other with clever shots and strategic positioning.
Daphne and Simon, always a formidable team, played with a synergy that came from years of understanding each other’s moves.
Eloise, and Francesca, had their competitive spirits shining through.
Benedict and you, however, were more focused on your children.
You took turns guiding Samuel and Eliza, offering tips and cheering their successes.
The children’s enthusiasm was infectious, and soon the entire family was rooting for them, their rivalries momentarily forgotten.
“Come on, Samuel, you’ve got this!” Colin called out as Samuel lined up his shot for the final wicket.
“Just a gentle tap,” Benedict advised. “You don’t need much force.”
Samuel nodded, taking a deep breath. He swung the mallet, and the ball rolled forward, wobbling slightly before it passed cleanly through the wicket.
A cheer went up from the family, and Samuel beamed with pride.
Eliza was next, her eyes fixed on the final stake. “I can do it, Mama,” she said with determination.
“I know you can, sweetheart,” you replied, giving your daughter an encouraging nod.
Eliza took her time, carefully positioning her ball.
Her swing was gentle yet precise, and the ball rolled steadily towards the stake, tapping it lightly.
Another round of cheers erupted, and Eliza jumped up and down with joy.
As the game drew to a close, you all gathered around the final stake, your competitive spirits giving way to a sense of camaraderie and family pride.
Anthony and Kate, still neck and neck, decided to call it a draw, their laughter mingling with the cheers and applause.
“Well done, everyone,” Anthony said, his authoritative tone softened by a smile. “Especially you two,” he added, looking at Samuel and Eliza. “You played brilliantly.”
You wrapped her arms around your children, hugging them tightly. “We’re so proud of you.”
Benedict joined in the embrace, his heart swelling with love and happiness. “Today was perfect,” he said softly, kissing the top of Eliza’s head.
The family began to disperse, some heading towards the house while others lingered on the lawn, enjoying the last moments of the day.
Colin and Penelope sat on a nearby bench, their hands intertwined as they watched their children chase each other around.
Daphne and Simon strolled towards the garden, their heads close together in quiet conversation.
Gregory and Hyacinth were already planning the next game, their animated discussion drawing smiles from those nearby.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over Aubrey Hall, Benedict and you stood together, watching your children play with their cousins.
The day had been filled with laughter, love, and the joy of family, a perfect reminder of what truly mattered.
Benedict turned to you, his eyes reflecting the contentment he felt. “I couldn’t ask for anything more.”
You smiled, leaning into him. “Neither could I.”
With the sound of your children’s laughter echoing around you and the promise of many more games and gatherings to come, you knew that no matter where life took you, you would always have each other.
And that, more than anything, was what made your family so special.
Space Marine Cuddle Pile PT3
Went for some more fluffy ones. I had a lot of ideas but didn’t want the second part to be overwhelming.
@wolf-feathers12
Imagine:
Guards being confused as space marines come pick them up and bring them to a pile of other space marines. Simply because they are squishy and fragile and the marines are so relieved that they survived. They care about them and want them safe with them in the cuddle pile.
A lone marine refusing to let go of the Cadians because he cares for them and they almost died and he wants to cuddle them and have them be safe and he won’t see his brothers for a bit.
New inquisitors wondering why after a mission the Greyknights are snuggling each other. Don’t get too close. If they grow fond of you, you will never miss out on a cuddle pile.
Cuddle piles are near sacred with Salamanders. Nestling into each other. Being warm and being held. Holding someone else. It’s necessary bonding time. You do the same with your family when you visit them. If you’re ever with another legion they will find themselves surrounded by warm salamanders.
Space Wolves are naturally cuddly. Especially when drunk. Many adepts are warned when it’s drinking time. You’ll find a space wolf nuzzling you. There’s such thing as cuddle dens. When you’ve drank your fill and it’s time to turn in for the night you go to the cuddle den and flop onto the pile. You’ll be pulled in and snuggled by other drunk space wolves before you fall asleep or pass out like the others
Wolf priests introduce new neophytes to cuddle piles, curling around them protectively like a mother wolf and her pups. Do not interrupt this. Wolf priests will get deep into the role and will bite if you get near the pups.
Leman Russ lays down in the middle of the hall. His marines eye him, waiting for the signal. Sometimes he’ll raise out his arms. An invitation for them all to pile on top of him. But not today. Sometimes he wants comfort. He will take his mother wolf pelt and lay it over him. Then motions for his warriors to pile on. They do so and he pretends he’s back in the den with his brothers. Pressed up against his mother. He holds his warriors. He’ll be there all night. Soon you’ll hear snoring.
After a battle, Sanguinius will cuddle his sons. Telling them how proud he is of them. That they were noble and brought honor to the legion. He’ll position himself so they’re surround him and he can cover them with his wings.
Titus joining his first cuddle pile since rejoining the ultramarines. A huge weight off his shoulders as he’s back with his brothers. One with an arm around him, another brother wrapped in his own arms. All is well. All is well.
Tons of marines piled on top of a dreadnought. Determined to show him they can cuddle him. There’s so many of them that the warmth actually reaches through the sarcophagus. Plus their entombed brother is big enough he can hold lots of them.
Firstborns refusing to acknowledge they prefer to cuddle with Primaris marines because they’re bigger and it reminds them of when they were a neophyte and the apothecaries would hold them.
Speaking of apothecaries, they have it best. They get to hold and comfort the neophytes as they go through the process of becoming a marine. Cuddle wounded marines till they’re better. It’s mutually agreed that apothecaries give the best hugs.
Just after the siege of 63-19 and the loss of Sejanus, Horus Lupercal is on the ground, nestled with the three remaining mournival members. It’s just them and it’s silent as the Warmaster grieves. They hold their father this time. A new member will soon be called but for now, Horus needs this.
Iron hands cuddle piles include many soft blankets for utmost comfort. They often fall asleep whilst in each other’s embrace. It’s very important for the well being of a space marine and to bond within the ranks.
(Honestly it’s really fun writing these because I fully believe that there needs to be more normalization with platonic affection. Plus space marines are baby and baby needs to be held)
The Fractured Bonds
Nolan Grayson x daughter reader (platonic!)
Mark Grayson x sister reader (platonic!)
Synopsis: Mark finds himself facing an unexpected threat to his family when Angstrom Levy decides to hold his mother and sister hostage. Despite the family turmoil they've endured and Nolan's departure, he returns to rescue his daughter.
Warnings: Contains scenes of violence, emotional distress and it mentions that the reader was murdered in other realities. The reader is 5 years old. This is just an idea I had a long time ago and kept it stored. This scenario was inspired by Chapter 33 of the "Invincible" comics in portuguese.
Word count: 3.6k
Tumblr media
As soon as Mark flew into the house through the window, his heart stopped when he saw you and his mother clinging to each other, as if your lives depended on that embrace. When Eve told him that Debbie had called, but the voice on the phone was a man's, he couldn't help but rush back to you two and imagine that something was wrong, and indeed it was.
At first, he ignored the hideous figure holding you both hostage, but made a point to glare at him with hatred now. His head was larger than that of an ordinary person and the shape of his brain was imprinted around the skull; moreover, the expression on the stranger's face was manic and as furious as Mark's, but there was a kind of excitement shining through.
"Who are you and what do you want?" Your brother's voice was deeper than usual; an attempt to sound more authoritative and intimidating.
"He wanted me to bring you here..." Debbie suddenly began to speak "I-I didn't know where you were. I remembered that Eve had called, I thought maybe she knew." Her voice was faltering, full of pauses between words due to nervousness. And it was while his mother was speaking that Mark noticed her bruised face, with a bleeding nose and purple patches on her arms as she held your small body as protected as possible.
You seemed to be in better physical condition than her, but your injured knee did not go unnoticed, as a thin trail of blood had formed around your calf. In an adult, the wound wouldn't have been a big deal, but your delicate skin stung with the cut, and he knew it hurt because of your sniffles. "I'm sorry, I didn't know what else to do. H-he hurt me, he was going to hurt my baby." She said the last part with regret, referring to you, while holding you closer and running her fingers through your hair.
"In fact, I think your son was talking to me." Interrupting his mother, finally that man had spoken, and his tone was cynical, too unconcerned for the taste of the furious Mark glaring at him. As if that weren't enough, he dared to touch Debbie's shoulder, acting as if he had every right to do so.
"Let them go now." Mark ordered him with dangerously calm voice, although the expression on his face was one of pure disgust.
"Not yet." He opened a diabolical smile as he began his ridiculous speech: "I've learned a lot about you, Mark Grayson. Many things. I know how violent you can get when you're angry, like now..." He paused dramatically, as if he needed to emphasize what he was about to say next, and it was only irritating Mark's impatient. "I know you got it from your father."
The scowl on Mark's face deepened as you tried to peek out from your mother's arms to try to understand what was going on, but she pulled you closer to her embrace. "Stay here with mommy, sweetheart."
Both she and your brother hadn't had the courage to tell you what had happened to Nolan; you were still too young, maybe you wouldn't even understand. They both spent the last few months avoiding mentioning your father at home, and when they did, it was in whispers so that you wouldn't start asking questions they wouldn't know how to answer. No child should know that their own father was a superhero killer, let alone that he had abandoned his own family out of sheer moral caprice.
"Did you know that your identity is public in almost forty percent of the realities where you exist, Mark?" The villain continued his taunts, wanting to get to some point. "That's almost half. And that means you're careless."
"Get to the point already." Mark asked, or rather demanded. If this continued, he was sure he would snap. This dialogue was irritating him, but as long as his mother and sister were witnessing everything, he would need to hold himself together until he found a way to get him away from here.
"You see this?" He pointed to himself, referring to his own appearance "I'm a freak... A deformed freak. So I guess it's understandable that you don't recognize me." Then he wrapped you and your mother around his arm in threat, and the grip was painful. "When you saw me before, when you did this to me, I looked much more normal!"
"Oh, god... You're that guy." Realization struck him, widening his eyes as he remembered the past.
"That guy? Is that all you remember of me? That I was that guy?" If that man's temperament was bad before, now it must have risen about twenty degrees with the lack of importance his sworn enemy had given him. "I'm Angstrom Levy! The next time you forget my name, it will be because you'll be dead!"
He was certainly furious, pouring out hatred and continuing to blame Mark for interrupting his inter-dimensional goals, blaming him for his current deformed appearance, repeating that he would always be a freak, even though he had sought out the best surgeons to reconstruct his shattered body.
"The greatest minds in a dozen realities couldn't find a way to fix my brain!" His hands clenched into heavy, tense fists, ready to crush something "And it's all because of you!"
After that, he exploded and everything happened too quickly for Debbie to stop him, and even if she were quick, she wouldn't have had the strength. In moments, you were ripped from your mother, who had taken a punch to the face. Levy held you and stretched one of your arms with the free hand. You hadn't acquired powers yet and were nothing but a child; you couldn't defend yourself alone.
Mark took a step forward, but Levy raised your arm in a strange position, ready to break it. You cried and sobbed desperately due to the intense pain. "Mommy, make him stop! Mark!" You pleaded as he twisted your arm, and irrationally shouted for your brother repeatedly, seeking someone who could come to your rescue.
"Let her go!" Mark was no longer the Invincible, even in his superhero costume. He was just a man trying to protect his family, and he felt so useless and powerless that it was agonizing. Without thinking, he lunged at the hideous villain in front of him, ready to confront him in physical combat at that very moment.
"That's right. I'm right here. Come get me!" And he did, but Mark was taken aback to find himself in a completely strange place. He was no longer in his home; Angstrom Levy had sent him through one of his portals to another dimension.
He watched in shock the weird jungle he found himself in, with mutant dinosaur-like creatures devouring the carcass of another beast as large as they were right beside him. The animals noticed Mark, and suddenly they... Spoke? He heard the beasts mention that it had been a long time since they had seen any Homo Sapiens, obsessed with devouring him. Apparently, he was in some apocalyptic dimension where humans had been extinct by these beasts. He could have ended these animals in seconds, but still couldn't help but feel fear, not for himself, but for you. How would he return to help you?
At home, Debbie had to plead with Levy to return you to her, and with some pity for your cries after he broke the arm, he returned you, allowing you to be comforted by your mother. But he kept you two close to him, with a firm grip on the older woman's shoulder, so he could use you against Mark at any moment.
"It's okay. It's going to be okay," she repeated comforting words as she wiped away your tears and rubbed your back gently. Debbie had seen and heard of many cruel villains thanks to her life as the wife of a "hero," but how insensitive would a human being need to be to break a 5-year-old's arm like this? Of course, she knew that even more horrendous things had happened to children in this world, but you were her daughter, and it hit her deeply.
Debbie felt you faint in her lap and panicked. She shouldn't have shaken you the way she did, but in the midst of desperation, the last thing she wanted was to see you silent, with your eyes closed. You passed out from the pain. It's normal, she's aware of that, but it was still terrifying. She was only taken out of her stupor when she heard his disgusting voice again:
"I can't believe you're going to lie to her like that." He drew attention to himself. "What kind of mother are you? How can you say that to her? You're not sure about that." Debbie ignored him, and he took it as a challenge. "I bet you're not even listening to me. Blocking me from your mind, aren't you?" He insisted. "Are you sure you don't want to talk? I could use your company."
He tried once more, but still received no response from the woman. Levy shifted his gaze from Debbie to carefully observe you. He knew the pain must be intense; he should have given up injuring you as soon as Mark passed through the portal, but he preferred to do it as a reminder. A warning for when his brother returned. If he returned. "Let's check on your son. Let's see how well Mark managed to survive this reality."
Extending his hands to summon a portal that glowed green, a figure in his yellow superhero uniform passed through the colorful circle.
"You were going to hurt my sister?" The boy shouted as soon as he saw he was back home, numb with a sense of vengeance.
"Not only was I going to, but I did." The statement made Mark's blood run cold.
"Mark?" Debbie called him desperately to show your state. She couldn't bear to see you suffer. Mark held his mother's gaze, interrupting only to finally notice you, who were motionless. Your arm was in such a unusual and swollen position. Your face, which was once red from crying, now had turned pale, and if it weren't for your shallow breathing, he would have thought you were dead.
"What have you done?" He asked furiously.
Levy made no move to respond, taking you from Debbie's arms once again. "No! Let go of my daughter!" She shouted angrily, completely abandoning her earlier fearful expression. She refused to allow that horrendous creature to take you away from her a second time. Debbie had felt how cold and clammy your skin was, and the more she looked at you, the paler your face became.
"Welcome back, Mark Grayson." Levy said after observing the hysterical scene of the woman beside him unfold with some indifference. "Your little sister here is really cute; I personally adore this chubby face of hers." Mark's throat tightened at the sight of you in the arms of that despicable man, scared with force, and seeing his broken mother in the corner of the bed only made his heart beat harder. "You know, I've encountered her in other realities." His tone was perverse, too cynical. "But unfortunately, those versions of her didn't get to advance much in age compared to this one. Isn't that interesting?"
"You bastard!" It didn't take much intelligence to understand what he meant, and it made Mark's nostrils flare with fury.
"That also makes me wonder what must have happened differently for her to survive longer in this dimension." Debbie moved from where she was on the bed and carefully reached for the bedside lampshade while Angstrom Levy was distracted, but a brief glance at her son made her abandon the idea. Mark discreetly shook his head negatively, implying that she shouldn't do that. "Or maybe I am the trigger for this event here," he pointed out with a smile.
"If you hurt her more, I swear-" Mark said with hatred and tense body, but he was interrupted.
"What? You'll kill me? Of course, you will." The villain stared at him seriously, with some skepticism. "Don't worry. However, her well-being really only depends on you. After all, it was you who let Anissa kill her once, and Conquest, and Thragg... Although the latter was more your father's fault," he stated matter-of-factly while scratching his chin.
He seemed like had finished speaking, but decided that the hero needed to hear more upon seeing the boy's shocked face at the mention of those peculiar names, yours assassins, curiously, all Viltrumites. Levy wasn't sure if Mark was already aware of these people, but what really mattered to him was to disturb the boy. "But it's you whom I want to hurt. I want to hurt you so, so much... Your little sister is very safe, as long as I determine that the only way to hurt you is by hurting her."
Then suddenly he lifted your unconscious body in his arms as he prepared to throw you into a portal. Debbie's heart was in combustion, beating faster than ever as she suppressed a scream. But your brother's temper finally snapped, completely determined to kill him once and for all.
Mark moved forward to stop him, but within seconds, the roof of the house was pierced and him felt something, or rather, someone push him away. He couldn't see much, but he followed his mother's pleas and embraced her, protecting her from the wreckage. His throat tightened at not seeing you, not knowing what was happening, but soon part of the dust began to settle.
Struggling a bit, the boy managed to see his father's back, apparently holding the man, who moments ago was about to send you away, in the air by the neck. He relaxed a little more when he saw traces of his hair resting on Nolan's broad shoulder, finally free from the dangerous clutches. Despite the disturbing events regarding his father, Mark knew he wouldn't let anyone harm you under his protection.
Levy felt himself losing breath, his brain throbbing from the blow he received from a piece of wood fallen from the ceiling. An intense pain hit him as Omni-Man began to bash his head repeatedly against the wall. His skull was now partly mashed into the concrete, and the red liquid that was his blood flowed to the ground.
"If my left fist weren't busy, I'd make you suffer much more," Nolan's thunderous and deep voice sounded intimidatingly throughout the room. "Despicable trash like you should keep your filthy hands to yourself."
Nolan struck one last time as he whispered in a chilling whisper the last words that man would hear before having his skull pushed against the wall slowly, until it crushed like gelatin: "I'll ensure that every version of you that dares to appear here on this Earth, or anywhere in this Universe, has a slow and painful death before laying a finger on my daughter again."
And as the Viltrumite increased the grip on Levy's neck and continued pressing his head against the wall, it seemed like his eyes were about to pop out. The skin that was once brown now split between purple and pink in some spots due to the continuous pressure while him was dying.
Observing the man coldly, Nolan withdrew his hand and took care not to stain you with the blood dripping from his fingers, portraying a much gentler grimace as he observed your sleeping figure. He always found it adorable to see how incredibly tiny you looked in his arms, It awakened an intense feeling of protection. But upon noticing that you were injured, his eyebrows furrowed, carefully examining your broken arm while wondering how Mark had let this happen.
"Father, what-" Mark broke free from his mother, finally finding words amidst the shock, but was interrupted.
"Your sister needs to go to the hospital." His voice was distant, almost emotionless, successfully masking the concern.
Debbie honestly wasn't ready to face the man she had been deceived by so soon, but she couldn't care less when the only thing she had wanted for hours was just to keep you safe and close to her. She avoided his eyes as she anxiously waited for an opportunity to have you back in her arms, and her ex-husband seemed to have noticed. As hesitant as he was, he walked over to her carefully, avoiding showing a more human side of himself to his family, but also not being hostile in his gestures. He surrendered to the act and pressed his lips to one of her temples before putting you in her arms.
"Take good care of her." He stared at his son with some severity. "I can't always be here, I'm entrusting her life to you, Mark."
The boy looked at him with some indignation, as if his father doubted that he would do everything to protect you, but he knew he had been too careless, as Angstrom Levy said he was. Even though he had the strength to defend his little sister, he still found himself vulnerable tonight, almost incapable.
"You don't need to ask for that." Mark was firm, and Nolan nodded satisfactorily. He thought about saying something more, even though he didn't understand why, the last thing he should want is to speak to his father again. Perhaps it was to unload the disgust he still felt, but the health of both of you was a more important matter to him now.
"Go away." Debbie's voice surprised them. She was obviously defeated, too tired for all this, but still found the energy to stand while holding you. "It was the necklace, wasn't it? Are you spying on us?"
Nolan's gaze was hard, trying to hide how his ex-wife's contempt affected him. The months of bitterness he spent in space had changed his demeanor a bit, but he thought it would be less painful for both of them not to hear his regret after all the harm he had caused. He didn't consider himself worthy of his family's pity, although now they considered him a stranger. He knew that Mark and Debbie still harbored a monstrous image of the person he was, and perhaps he really was.
"Aren't you going to admit it?" She asked him again with indignation, seeing that the man didn't make a single move to leave.
The object she referred to was a gift from both of them to you, or rather, from Nolan. He was the one who had the idea of putting the necklace around your neck with the excuse of keeping you safe. He wanted to know where you were and who you were talking to, and the way he found to do that was by projecting this piece with the help of his planet's technology. "I hope every time you hear this little girl mention your name, you wriggle with remorse and agony, if you still have any kind of heart. You were better off away."
She still remembers when he told you: 'Whenever you want to talk to me, just hold your necklace close. That way I'll always be with you.' At the time, it was something so beautiful, something they hadn't thought of doing with Mark, but now it could be different. In your childish mind, it was as if it were magical and a piece of your father would really be with you all the time. But now it stirred disgust in her, she wanted to destroy it.
"Don't take it off, Debbie. Please." Nolan's imposing voice had become softer, almost frightened, and he had finally shown some kind of weakness after so long. "Please." He repeated the plea.
"Mom, maybe it's a good idea to let her keep wearing it. At least sometimes." Mark interfered not for his father, but thinking of you. If Nolan had been able to appear today to save you, he could come to your rescue more often, although the idea of you being in danger again gave him chills.
Debbie hesitated, giving up tearing the necklace off your neck. Knowing that Nolan would be able to experience their day-to-day life bothered her, but she would deal with it later, remembering that you needed medical care. She was very hurt, but her own condition didn't matter to herself as long as she saw you awake and well again. "Mark. Hospital." she announced hurriedly ignoring the fourth person in the room and the bloody scene beside her.
Nolan sighed in relief for a moment, looking one last time at you and Mark, ashamed, but adopting the stone-cold expression he had previously. "Mark, don't let her take it off." He didn't want to sound like that, but the tone of his voice carried a threat. The boy cared little about giving him any kind of response, returning a grim expression to his father as he departed at a thunderous speed through the now-open roof, just as he had come, raising the dust once again.
"Let's go," Mark said gently to his mother, lifting her delicately since you were in her arms.
The Union of Two Houses
Tumblr media
Paul Atreides x Reader
Warning: Arranged marriage
Summary: To strengthen the connection between your family and House Atreides, you are to marry Paul.
"Lady Y/L/N." came the voice from the entrance, letting everyone inside know that you have arrived.
Paul waited anxiously, often looking at his mother as she tried her best to calm him.
He had so many conversations with his parents ever since the news came that he was to marry a princess. Of course, Paul is against the idea. Marrying someone he didn't even know? He refused. But deep down, he understood his father's reasons. House Y/N/L was a very strong house, they held powers no one else did. So, Paul understood his father wanted to have such a powerful House on his side.
You, on the other hand, had been told since you were a child that one day you will marry a man you don't even know.
Being the youngest out of five children, all four of your siblings being boys. You felt like your parents only saw you as a tool for them to marry off to a good family for connections.
And while you were told and prepared, it still did make you extremely anxious.
You worried about what kind of a man would your father find for you. You feared he would give you to a terrible man who would hurt you, who would make the rest of your life miserable.
"Atreides has a son. You will marry the son to strengthen the bond between the families." your mother told you one day, and you couldn't object.
And now, here you were, wearing a veil over your face to keep your innocence intact.
Paul looked at his mother, confused as to why was his bride wearing that.
"They have different customs." explained his mother and she only now realized Paul should have been advised about a couple of said customs.
While his father greeted you, Paul was looking at the floor, he soon realized you were standing in front of him, slowly bowing as his father introduced him.
"My son, your soon-to-be husband, Paul."
"Pleasure to meet you." you spoke up and Paul could barely hear you.
"Pleasure is all mine, Lady."
---
Paul was informed you will stay in a room close to his. Paul was also rather surprised that none of your parents attended.
He assumed maybe they would be there for the wedding.
There was a knock on his door, when he opened it he found you standing there, still wearing your veil.
"I apologize for interrupting your afternoon, your mother told me you could show me around?" now he heard you a little better, but your voice was still quiet.
"Of course, Lady." he simply said before leading you around the castle.
Showing you everything.
You particularly seemed to enjoy the garden and the library. Looking at all the different books.
"You enjoy reading?" He asked.
"Of course, I do. On our planet it is mostly raining, so we often stay inside. Reading by the window as the rain falls is something I will miss."
"I can show you a couple books I enjoy."
"You read, My Lord?" you sounded rather surprised.
"When my time allows me."
"Oh, doesn't sound like you have a lot of free time."
"I don't, but I can still enjoy books." you smiled although you knew he wouldn't see that. "May I ask, Mother said you have customs before the wedding... I would like to know some, as I do not wish to offend you."
"Oh," you were surprised he was willing to learn. "I wear the veil so that my husband can take it off of my face during the ceremony. It symbolises purity, innocence and my willingness to my husband. Another custom is that we mustn't talk on the day of the wedding, nor can we see each other. It is said the desire would be greater that way. Do you have any customs?"
"None like that, but I wish to follow yours."
"I appreciate that, Lord."
"Call me Paul, please. I do not want us to be cold to each other, if I may also call you by your given name."
"I'd like that." you smiled and he could hear the smile in your voice.
Paul was intrigued. That afternoon he realized just how kind and gentle you were. He assumed it was your upbringing that made you so soft-spoken. You spoke briefly about your parents and siblings while Paul spoke about his family.
---
The wedding went on as everyone expected it. Your parents and your people arrived for the ceremony.
It was a true celebration of the union of two Houses.
Paul was rather nervous to remove your veil but once he did and his eyes locked with yours, he smiled.
His bride was beautiful on the outside as much as she was on the inside. He placed just the softest little kiss on your lips as you were pronounced husband and wife.
And then, the celebration began.
Two cultures met.
Everyone was surprised at how much your people loved to dance.
Never leaving the dance floor only to eat.
Paul smiled as he watched everyone celebrate, even the children were dancing, inviting his people to the dancefloor.
"I will be back soon." you said as you leaned over to Paul and he nodded.
You stood and walked with one of your maids.
The 'high table' as they called it was a bit further from the guests' tables. allowing space between them. The dancefloor was right by the guests as they occupied it mostly. Paul's eyes were still glued to the people, then a man stood up and the music stopped.
"Ladies and Gentleman, it is my pleasure to announce the next portion of the wedding, admittedly, it is my favourite part." said the man as he lifted a metal bowl. At this time, you walked out, wearing a completely different dress than the one you were in before, this allowed you to move more free and everyone could see the beautiful details. "Ladies and Gentleman I hope you all brought your silver or gold, as from now, the bride is for sale!" As the man lifted his hand, the music began and everyone at the high table, except your parents, looked between one another.
Sale?
How dare they?! Paul nearly choked as he saw an older man toss a coin into the metal bowl, he took your hand and you danced with him, soon, a line formed, and everyone wanted to dance with you.
Your mother turned to Paul and his family.
"One of our oldest traditions. Everyone gets the chance to dance with the bride in exchange for a coin. It is why we call it 'the bride is for sale'. "
"Isn't it a bit...degrading?" asked Lady Jessica.
"Oh! Not at all! If anything we quite like it! The money collected usually goes to the newly-wedded couple so they could start their own lives together. Usually, in cases of royal weddings we give the collected money to charity or people in need." your mother said.
You smiled as a young little girl put a coin into the bowl as she made her way over to you, wanting to dance with you.
Thankfully, you were prepared for people of all ages. As you should be.
"I do hope the Duke would also take his chance and dance with my daughter." smiled your mother as your father joined the now slightly shorter queue of people.
"Should I?" asked the Duke and your mother nodded quickly.
"Only if you wish to. Once everyone had their turn, Paul should be the last, to end the dance." your mother said and Paul nodded.
Paul watched as you danced with your father, a smile adoring your face since you began. Then, the line ended but the music didn't stop, you quickly moved to drink some water before you heard another coin hit the now, almost full bowl, turning you saw the Duke himself standing there.
You smiled as you quickly made your way to him.
"I wish for a slower dance if I may. I am not as young as I once was." he said as he reached out for your hand.
"You will be fine." you said pulling him with you and he laughed.
You dared to defy the Duke himself as he quickly moved on the dance floor. Not letting him down as the music reached his end.
"Thank you." you told him as you did to everyone else, soon everyone was sitting while you were slowly moving alone on the dancefloor.
Your mother told you, when the time comes, she will send over Paul.
Paul slowly stood up, making sure everyone had their turn before walking towards you.
As soon as he arrived close to you, you turned as you motioned for the band. The music changed as you two danced. First, it was a quicker pace as everyone around you cheered. Then a slower song was playing as you just swayed in his arms, people soon joining you.
"You look beautiful in this dress." he said and you barely heard him over the people and the music.
"Thank you. I hoped you would enjoy it."
"I do. Seeing you dance and have fun, it made me happy."
"Paul..."
"I hope you don't have any more traditions that you are hiding from me." he smiled and you smirked.
"I have just one, but I'm sure you are also familiar with that one." Paul laughed, understanding your hint.
He always knew he would be in an arranged marriage, with his title, it was a given. However, you were a true gift. Something he didn't expect is that he actually really enjoyed being with you.
He could see himself in a very happy marriage with you. And with another feather light kiss to your lips, it was his promise sealed.
His promise of happiness and joy.
''Aunt Y/N, can you braid my hair, please?'' Willow walked up to the breakfast table, holding her pink hairbrush.
The woman put her drink down, smiling down at the young girl. ''Of course, honey,'' she slid her chair back and got up, ''we'll do it inside so I can get ready myself.'' Y/N stuck out her hand and Willow swiftly took it.
''Willow, what do you say to her?'' Her mother glanced at her, trying to look stern. The small girl huffed, seemingly embarrassed by her mother's reminder of having manners. ''Thank you, Y/N.'' The slight frown turned into a toothy grin as she looked up at her uncle's girlfriend.
''You're welcome, Willow.'' Y/N chuckled, winking at Lewis who smiled at the pair. A skipping Willow dragged her inside the vacation home and made their way towards the bathroom.
The rest of the family watched them leave with loving eyes, endeared by the interaction. ''Willow is obsessed with her.'' Nicola stated, looking at her brother.
Her sister nodded her head. ''I know,'' she agreed, ''her hair needs to be like Y/N's, her clothes need to be like Y/N's- it's all I'm hearing these days.'' She sighed, not out of annoyance or agitation, but out of happiness that Willow had found a role-model in her brother's partner.
''That's adorable,'' Lewis giggled, ''Y/N also loves her and Kaiden- always talking about how such good kids they are and wanting to buy them stuff.'' He told his family, recalling the times they had gone shopping and Y/N would see certain items that reminded her of the two kids.
''It's very sweet.'' Anthony commented, the smile on Lewis' face bringing one to his own.
Carmen scratched her voice. ''The little ones were very excited to see the two of you again. They were even naming all the things you could do together.'' The weeks leading up to the family vacation, Willow and Kaiden had been telling their grandmother's ear off about how much they were looking forward to it.
''We were excited as well, it's been a while since we've all spent time like this together.'' Lewis answered, his heart melting at the thought of his niece and nephew being all giddy about seeing him and Y/N again.
The other family members agreed. ''Yes, thank you so much for organising this, Lu.'' Samantha thanked him, sending an appreciative smile his way.
''No, you don't have to thank me! It's my pleasure.'' He brushed her words off, growing shy.
A comfortable silence fell upon them, bathing in the family time and the beautiful sight of the morning glow in Bali. That didn't last long, though.
''CANNONBALL!''
The loud voice of Kaiden cut through the peace and the sound of someone landing in the pool interrupted the tranquillity of the moment. Lewis' brother-in-law quickly followed after his son and everyone went back to either eating or getting themselves ready for the activities of the day.
''Nice braid, Willow.'' Lewis complimented his niece as she walked past him to go outside with her new hair, a braid with several flower accessories attached.
''I know, Y/N did it.'' She told her uncle in a 'duh'-tone.
Lewis simply laughed and walked to their room, finding his girlfriend changing into a beautiful spring dress. ''Hey, beauty.'' He kissed her cheek, admiring her in the mirror.
''Hi, honey.'' Y/N smiled at him, adjusting the straps on her shoulders.
''I just ran into miss Willow who had a beautiful braid in her hair.'' He grinned, grabbing his swimming trunks from his suitcase. ''I told her it looked nice and she just went ''I know, Y/N did it' with a little attitude, it was the funniest thing.'' He recalled the interaction with his niece, chuckling to himself.
''I wonder where she gets that sassy attitude from.'' Y/N smirked, glancing at her boyfriend with a raised eyebrow.
Lewis took off his infamous Senna shirt and threw it at her, the woman smoothly catching it. ''I have no idea what you're talking about, darling.'' He pretended, sheepishly smiling.
''Oh, Mister 'Imagine' doesn't know what I'm talking about, huh?'' Y/N lightly mocked him, folding his shirt and laying it on one of the chairs.
The Mercedes driver took off his shorts and boxers, switching them for his swimming wear. ''Anyway,'' he changed the topic, making her laugh, ''we were just talking about how well you and the little ones get along.'' A fond smile found its way to his face, remembering the conversation he had earlier.
''Really? That's cute, Lew.'' A few years ago it would have freaked her out if she knew his family had been talking about her, but a loving bond had bloomed over the course of her relationship with Lewis and now she considered them family as well.
''Yeah,'' he walked up behind her, trapping her in a back hug, ''it made me think about something.''
''About what?'' Y/N looked at him through the mirror.
''About us having our own kids.''
The sudden mention surprised her, her eyebrows raised and eyes widened. They had discussed it before, but some time had passed between that last conversation and now. ''Oh.''
''I know we said we would continue the discussion when it's my last F1 season, but I just couldn't help but think about it when you walked away with Willow.'' Lewis confessed, a dreamy look in his eyes.
''I understand,'' she smiled, ''you'd be a great dad, Lewis.''
Sometimes it was hard to ignore the warm feeling she got when she saw Lewis with kids, it made her daydream about her future with the Formula One star. Y/N was okay with waiting until Lewis was ready to retire, though. She wanted a present father for her children- not one that was away most of the time and missed all the important milestones in their children's life.
''And you will be the most amazing mother.'' He pressed a kiss to her temple, reveling in the feeling of having the love of his life in his arms.
''Sir Uncle and Aunt Y/N sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes baby. In a baby carriage!'' Kaiden and Willow chorused, yelling the popular playground nursery rhyme through the house.
The couple laughed at the comedic interruption, pulling away from one another. ''Maybe it's not that bad to wait a few years, I'm not ready for that yet.'' Lewis joked, grabbing a towel and his phone.
''Dream on, honey.'' Y/N teased, walking to their bathroom and taking the sunscreen from one of the cabinets.
Lewis stuck his head through the bathroom door, a smirk playing on his lips. ''I do have a wild imagination.'' He winked, referring to his own song with Christina Aguilera.
''Fuck off, XNDA,'' she tried throwing a discarded towel at him, ''I like Kendrick more, anyway.''
