you’ve probably gotten a lot of asks like this, but I just haven’t seen any posted. what are your feelings on the remake, if you are watching it? more specifically, what do you think was the biggest problem with it?

i rlly havent actually! i think it's bc im really trying to Pretend I Do Not See It. rn i'm fighting TOOTH AND NAIL against the temptation to hatewatch because i do not need that in my life lmao.

the thing i cannot get over with is how Cheap it looks, it rlly smells of poor rushed workers to me, despite the astronomical budget that went into it. 15 MIL!!??? same as the late seasons of game of thrones!! now i'm not saying GoT is a pinnacle of virtue but it featured: a really good burn scar make up that took up half a character's face, a really good Notorious white hair wig with intricate hairstyles, really good costumes and heavy winter furs, really good location and fantasy beasts cgi and ummmmmmm from what i've seen of natla well. it had nothing of the sort. it's just bad gary it's uglyy

Frankly I actually think it’s funny how cute I find Dread Pup form. He’s like a big Chinese crested, genuinely the cutest Solas has ever been to me lol.

Also I need to know if the sad dog noises he makes during the fight are actual dog noises or not because as someone in vetmed they ratcheted my goddamn anxiety so much in those scenes it was fantastic sound design lol

Every Yukinko post seems to be a lore post lately but the Childhood Rival who fiercely courted him after he came back to the clan post-EW was called something fancy like "the Snow-Cloaked Immortal" because he was a wood warder who would very occasionally chase legendary beasts into the territories of sects down in Yanxia.

Yukinko's father's apprentices spent like a whole hour impressing upon him what a Big Deal this guy was, okay. He was a Big Deal. The Hyurs and other short-living settlements ("They're just people," Yukinko said, to which the boys told him, "Shhhh.") had songs and LEGENDS about him. There was apparently this one gal whose martial arts were bequeathed to her by a dragon who was really into The Big Deal, but he hadn't deigned to visit her.

To Yukinko, this felt like some crazy shit. He was maaaaybe 60 years old by the end of EW. He still remembered The Big Deal challenging him to a stick fight when they were ten years old and then tripped right before he actually got to Yukinko, fell on the ground, and cried.

This guy would also only be sixty years old. They were the same age! "Legend" loooool. They were still only in one singular generation of a Miqo'te's lifespan.

Like clockwork, though, Childhood Rival showed up to challenge Yukinko. He really was strong, to be fair, and wielded swords now instead of just spear and bow. His style had a unique etherealness to it, and Yukinko heard that The Big Deal had had a shizun.

He still lost. Twice, then four times, then six times. And still he came back.

The maidens in their village giggled about it. Even his sister by blood apologized to Yukinko about the ruckus her brother seemed intent on causing. He told her very genuinely that he did not mind. Now that his child was born, keeping his sword arm limber was important since he didn't feel like going back into the world yet, and Childhood Rival's relentless challenges were more than welcomed.

Except that man refused to sit and talk after every bout. He just excused himself. What a sore loser, Yukinko thought. He used to run away back then too. Or even when Yukinko tried to help him up after one of their bouts. All red-faced and sniffling.

I'm running out of steam here so I'll just conclude with this: The Big Deal had been writing his own tragic danmei about his true love since birth leaving the mountains only to return much changed yet much stronger...but with someone ELSE'S child. Who!!!! His pride couldn't take it!

And he would have that man accepting him even if he had to die a hundred deaths for it!

Yukinko, meanwhile, was playing Parent Simulator. Then he was playing Final Fantasy 14.
