good morning dirtbag nation last night I cowboy camped up on a ridgeline tucked beneath hemlock saplings right alongside one of those big intermountain power lines that look like giant men walking across the mountain tops. the wires were so close that there was a constant crackling hum of electricity that almost disguised the sound of the rain pit-pattering on my tarp. when the water hit the cables it made hot blue flashes like little lightning birds on the wire, and you could almost track the sheets of wind in the darkness because of the ripples of light.

one of my discord experiences of all time was joining a "leftist" discord server where the pride flag emojis were really weirdly saturated and harsh on the eyes (particularly the trans one), i politely suggested they might want to change them slightly, and then got accused of being a fascist and "of course you're going after the trans flag specifically" by someone who asked my pronouns "so i can dunk on you".

obviously I was like "I'm literally a trans woman? I'd like to be able to use my own pride flag with hurting my eyes???" and they were like "ah..." and then left the server. I didn't stick around but that's probably my favourite experience I've ever had in a discord server, at no point was "hey this is kinda inaccessible" taken as anything other than a planned attack by fascists. they didn't even ask if i was trans lol.

Digital painting style experiments. I used the same brush, color scheme and base sketch. Each was painted a different day.

The first I was very intentional and aiming for a distinct simple bold look. The middle I blurred my eyes and aimed toward realism when I laid the colors down, then I cleaned it up with my focus on bringing out emotion. The last one I turned off my brain and overworked it to see where it would end up.
