I've never seen characterizations of Tom and Harry the way yours is. I love how neurotic and messed up they both are -- they're *SO CUTE* too. <3 <3 <3

Tom is just so exhausted and cynical and Harry is a manic catastrophe with sooo many crossed wires and they're HILARIOUS. XD

And just so well written, I cannot tell you how distracted I was for at least a week after I read what you had for your fic -- I truly, truly admire your narration and dialogue and characterizations (I already said that but PLEASE I LOVE THEM SO **BAD** >O< ) Soooo funny and well made.

They're realistic! One of the things I love most is that the kind of person who puts up pretensions is, innately, trying to hide something about themselves they find sub-par. Tom isn't just a scary and incredibly powerful domineering sigma male who is a master manipulator, he is a person who is actively attempting to turn himself into that man, and in my fic he is still a teenager and still tripping his way through that mental image he has of himself. The two worst ages to ever be are 15 and 20; fifteen, when you are ready to shed childhood but don't know what maturity looks like just yet, and 20, when you are ready to become your own person and achieve adulthood, picking your way across existence-defining beliefs. And his only friend for the past like, 7 months? has been his 16-year-old self who has the single-minded objective of looking cool and mature to his adult self. A hell of his own making.

Harry is also 20. He is one of those 'unusually mature for his age' kids and he has an inflated sense of his own righteousness and capability, despite being the actual one with the emotional range of a teaspoon (he just knows to keep it himself). There is no way Harry would detect he is having a manic fit, especially if he is having one that is triggered by his arrested feelings on Sirius. It's incredibly fun writing him perform this extremely risky and reality-altering plan and his plan was "idk, kill him?" and picking shit up off the ground whenever he sees it, the DADA position included. our hero.

Schubert for Francis really fits the bill (and I see why he was referenced in the episode 1 screenplay) And hey if you want more I can do classical music stuff all day I've been buffing up on stuff that would have existed around the time period of the terror (because if I love nothing else boy howdy do I love immersion) and I think I've come up with a neat little list of pieces for people to talk about (since I am a devotee of Edgar Allan Poe, and according to him, there is no higher art than music, so. there you go)

but yeah that piece especially feels very piney to me. the tone of it also really hits for lady terror because yes, it is very morose like so much of Schubert's work, but in an odd sort of way it seems like it has some glimmers of hope in there too, and that mix of tones is so perfect for francis to wallow in a drunken stupor thinking about how to parse through his very complex and complicated feelings about her. 10/10 morbing song. he would recommend.

second, I can see why some don't like Xee at all, Revvit, Ace, Waldo and Click-Clack are already good enough imo, the gang doesn't need another reptool, not to mention, she's a pretty forgettable character to me like whenever I see her on screen I'm just like "Oh yeah I forgot you exist too", I do wish that instead of joining the main crew, she could just join Garby instead, I do find Garby's gang a pretty Idk "neat" concept, so yeah, Garby's gang can have their own reptool yey

I freakin love Smash-itt, Break-itt, Knock-itt and Lloyd, they never got much screentime in the show, If there was an episode that's plot is about these dum dums just doing stupid stuff and getting into shenanigans I'd watch it 8584933838 times

Blayde is cool but if there's anything I find off about her and it's that.....*inhales*......why did she join D-Structs..? if I remember correctly, according to Dozer, D-Structs ATTACKED them and destroyed (no pun intended) their stuff and all and that's why Blayde is like this, like I thought that she's going to backstab him as payback when I saw her with D-Structs but it didn't happen...it just confuses me...

Extra comment: But…. but… that LttM room is so awesome! It's like that Wall room with the Orange Lizard ball that everyone loves, yet the layout and the dynamics are very different, but still fully fair. Not to mention the background colors being also very different (and frankly better than the originals, let's be honest), and ther's that awesome little broadcast that you can pick up once you climb the pole, and there's even just the fact that the lizzies can actually chase you quite far, way more than you'd think (I've once had a couple in M01 and M02, which was real funny). Ok, I will concede that it does have the potential to be annoying, but GUTTER01 spawns a goddamn Snail near the room pipe while you're playing as Saint, so don't you dare come at me about 'awful annoyances'.

Luna appreciating ramble aside, what do we have for this one? Well, none of rooms that served as the final ones for their regions (though I can't say I would be disappointed, they didn't really end on a high note for me). But instead we have two fairly random ones that I actually really liked, which is fun.

One of them is TOWER03, which might be inferior to RUIN04 in terms of visual presentation and uniqueness, but definitely superior in terms of gameplay and design. It's a fairly medium sized room that serves as a neat little climbing section, or a quick and fun descent. Its concept is rather simplistic, and there's nothing about it that really goes any deeper than that, except that there's a decently high amount of platforms, poles and pipes. And for my money, that's good enough. After all, this place is meant to act as a bridge between Sunken Pier's watery bottom section, and the railcar (Are they railcars? The rooms are called 'RAIL' and they do look like that, to me.) filled top section. And when those two sections are so unique, the connecting rooms need to be nice and simple, but still fun, and I think this one succeeds at that.

And the other room is A06, which is also somewhat simplistic, but still an absolute classic. I really love how it manages to be such a nice and fun place when you're just starting out. You often have both Lizards and Batflies here, so you feel like you have to get a little crafty with your approach. But the environment still offers you plenty of good options to both catch the bats, but also to hide from the lizzies. And then you come here as a Slugcat with hardmode spawns (aka, Hunter/Artificer/Spearmaster) only to realize that this place, as well as all the nearby rooms have been turned into the hunting ground of a Red Lizard. (Poor lil A06 Dropwig. At least the haters can enjoy seeing one getting bullied non stop by an apex predator) Thankfully, if you immediately notice it (which…. you should, cus it's a goddamn Red Lizard), the layout of this room, as well as all the nearby ones, should be good enough to allow for ways out, mainly thanks to their small sizes, the scarlet-headed dummies can't track very well when there's even just one whole empty room between the two of you.

Honestly, I just find the area very interesting. It's rare for rooms to get massive adjustments between campaigns, when it comes to their roles (especially in vanilla), and it's even rarer that all the versions hold up. But with this one, the designers pulled itt off, so hats off to them.

A friend got me into ghost and the lore and I'm currently mapping up a book I'm gonna write, and I'm considering adding references to them in it.

PAPA NIHIL: i feel like he's a tiefling! i fucking love tieflings and he definitely gives off the mischievous vibes, especially when he was younger. there's also the fact that tieflings are connected to asmodeus (which is kind of like the emeritus line being connected to satan even though asmodeus isn't... satan...) i like to think that when he was born someone put a glamour on him to hide his tiefling descent, until he met imperator who revealed his true form to him, à la the dance macabre MV!!

SISTER IMPERATOR: i literally can't imagine her anything other than a naga, ESPECIALLY with her outfit in the mary on a cross MV. i also love nagas i am totally not biased with any of these choices at all am i she would be a very pretty snake lady ok

So I (and a few others on Discord) spent a good deal of time yesterday playing with DALL-E, an AI image generator. Honestly, some of the stuff it makes is pretty fantastic. It’s a great way to lose a lot of time~

Fair warning, though, as an AI-powered thing, it does lead to a lot of surreal imagery, so if you’re susceptible to trypophobia and other such things, be forewarned if you play with it or even just look at my results. The bot is pretty bad at faces in particular~

Anyways, here’s some of the best ones I made yesterday, under the cut~

We started with some simple stuff, seeing what characters it could recognise and then trying to recreate some OCs with a simple description. Here’s some Bedlams it designed~

Let me tell you about Homestuck: It’s three trolls and some pride flag backgrounds. That’s pretty much it~

Sadly, it did not know All Your Base Are Belong To Us. Though I would like to see a baseball game played on an infinitely repeating fractal diamond.

I also tried putting in some Goosebumps titles, and honestly, it made some pretty unsettling imagery. Like, if Tim Jacobus’ cover art wasn’t already enough to spook you, these would downright give you nightmares. Feel free to skip the next four images if you have to, fair warning. Or, as they say, viewer beware, you’re in for a scare. And that statement’s actually genuinely applicable this time~

#16 One Day At Horrorland - Spookier than the book for sure! Love the Zim-esque colouring in the top-middle image. The daylight in the bottom right ruins the conceit of the whole thing, though.

#42 Egg Monsters From Mars - Also spookier than the book, though that’s not saying much. An empty cereal box is spookier than that book.The idea that Mars itself is an egg is also a spooky notion.

#26 My Hairiest Adventure - This is the one where it turns out they’re all dogs or something. Or, judging from these images, a photoshoot with Cousin Itt.

#33 The Horror At Camp Jellyjam - Not quite as unsettling as the leering grimace on the cover, but bizarre and uncomfortable all the same. I think that’s Jake the Dog in the top middle there. The word “horror” seems to lend itself to neon in particular~

I tried a few other Goosebumps titles, but most were exactly what you’d expect. And then there was “Calling All Creeps”, which was unsettling enough that I do not wish to share it here. In fact, let’s move on!

From there, we tested it a bit more, and found that if you give it an artist and a subject, it will do its best to recreate that subject in the artist’s style. Honestly, some of these are my favourite images in the whole thing.

Batman in the style of M.C. Escher. I would buy this art book.

Supergirl in the style of Edvard Munch. Some of these are just straight up “The Scream”, but that lower middle one is neat~

Green Lantern in the style of Jackson Pollock. God, these are fantastic. I bet they glow in the dark, too.

Spider-Man in the style of Vincent van Gogh. God, some of these are really cool. Can you imagine Spidey just sitting there looking at “Starry Night“? I would hang that on my wall~

After admiring the MC Escher one for a while, I realised Batman is, like, comedy gold.

Okay so the idea for this headcanon came up at the levihan server (iloveyall💖). I may or may not write a whole oneshot about it later😏😏

But for now I'll just leave this here:

I work at an international company that sells home furniture and accesories. Our offices have this huuuge long table were most of us work together and just chat non-stop lmao. Our boss is pretty cool and laid back. He has his own prívate office at the same floor we're all in, but he's always nearby and sometimes even sits with us. Soo, I just thought it would be funny to imagine the Survey Corps in this scenario.

-Erwin would obviously be the chill nice boss. He always wears neat impeccable shirts and is always on time. He salutes everyone with a smile and a polite "good morning" as soon as he arrives and knows every single employee: from the cleaning staff to the new interns. They all adore him. He's smart and charming and that usually gets the company new interesting deals. Though he's often busy with meetings he always makes sure to take some time off to grab lunch with the rest of the group and catch up.

-Hanji works as a computer engineer at the developement department. She's an "organized mess", as she likes to call herself. Her desk is always a wreck with papers scattered everywhere but somehow she manages to find everything she needs to, much to everyone's surprise. She's ALWAYS late. ALWAYS. It doesn't matter how many times Erwin patiently warns her about it, she still shows up breathless with the typical "you have no idea what happened to me on my way here" type of stories, each crazier than the last. She's brilliant at her job tho, so Erwin let's it slide. She also always comes up with the most over-the-top conversation topics ever. She'd be probably typing something in her computer and randomly ask "what if in an alternative universe there were giant humans with no genitals walking the face of earth, threatening our very existence?". Then everyone would look at eachother like "ah shit here we go again".

-Moblit is her newly hired assistant and always gets dragged into her usual mess. His first day at the office Hanji asked him for coffee and he almost freaks out, standing there completely frozen in front of the Nespresso machine up until Levi came to the rescue and told him how she liked it: strong with no milk and little sugar. From then on he started picking up on him and Hanji's weird but unique dynamic. The way they interacted and even constantly teased each other over the smallest of things made him realize how close they actually were. Sometimes he was tempted to ask Hanji if her and Levi were a thing, but he never did out of respect.

-Levi's the stock manager. He's incredibly organized and has the most clear-easy-to-understand Excel files. Erwin trusts him the most and sometimes even sends him on meetings to get new deals with clients when he can't go. He always arrives ten minutes before everyone else and makes himself some tea, often coffee for Hanji too. He sits right in front of her at the big table and usually calls her out on her bullshit. "Hey, Four Eyes, stop leaving those sticky notes on my desk!", "Aw, c'mon! I know you love them", she laughs in response. The notes are nothing special, they're silly, even. Hanji writes things like "I wonder what would Erwin look like without those huge-ass brows covering half his face" or "don't you think Mike and Nanaba would be cute together?". Levi secretly adores the little messages he gets and finds them funny.

-Mike works at the sales department. Believe me, he could sell ANYTHING. He's charming and convincing and the clients instantly fall for him. Once he even sold a bright green couch that nobody in the entire company thought any sane person would buy. That day they all went out for drinks after office to celebrate. Restaurant bill was on Erwin, and so most of them got completely wasted to the point where Levi had to literally drag them out of the bar. He usually visits Nanaba's office at the finances department with the most lame excuses, just to see her. Everyone in the office shamelessly ships them, even Erwin.

-Eren, Jean, Armin, Sasha, Annie, Connie and Historia work at costumer service. Armin and Historia are extremely polite and sweet and well-spoken, the rest of them are just awfully awkward and usually make the clients shake their heads in confussion. Levi one time tried to instruct them, but turned out he was even more socially awkward than the kids, so they just left the task up to Mike.

Another week of pregnancy down, another appointment and class down too. This evening's prenatal class was all about the baby, quite literally what to do with it once it was out. And Aelin thought she had never seen Rowan so intensely focused as he was now listening to Sorcha explain and demonstrate how to swaddle a baby. Maybe it was the hormones, or maybe her impending motherhood had altered her brain, but as Aelin watched as Rowan deftly wrapped the doll with a missing eye in a tight and neat swaddle she found herself admitting Dad Mode Rowan was hot as hell.

I think as far as morosexual representation goes, the tv show has it on lock. Gomez is so fucking stupid he’s so fucking stupid but he loves his wife SO much and Morticia is so endeared by him being a complete and total dumbass. Sometimes you simply must stand on your head for 3-5 hours and that’s just how it is!

I like how all the character choices especially for side characters are just off the wall insane. Like yeah okay Ophelia has flowers growing out of her head and is an incurable romantic who judo flips everyone she interacts with. i live in finland, im 18 next month and i would really appreciate it if you‘d answer this :) but if you don’t know anything about this it’s fine i can use google myself. my question is: do you think i could get free therapy? i think my family is middle class but im not gonna pay someone 60€ x ? to tell me to just try harder. nothing is seriously wrong; i know i won’t kill myself, i don’t think there is anything drastically (needing medicine) wrong with my brain and i smile/laugh normally (i watch a lot of tv and stuff). still i hold very negative views on the world like +85% of people me included would’ve been “better off” not being born and not waking up tomorrow would be neat. moreover im not doing my school work bc im just too lazy and don’t feel that good panic or stress i used to a couple years ago (i don’t feel a lot of anything) summary: nothing is wrong but i can’t pull myself together. 2nd question: do you think i should even try to get it free when there are people who need it more?

Okay I am here with my reply finally! First of all you sound a lot like I was around your age. I thought I was textbook ‘’okay’’, but since I kinda didn’t think I was doing as bad as some others I was like, I’m gonna be fine. Spoiler alert, it was a slippery slide down.

I am not a professional so do not take my words as facts obviously, but  ‘’i don’t feel a lot of anything’’ sounds a lot like depression to me, and all the not being able to pull yourself together. What helped me realise that I actually indeed have depression (bc I was in denial for a long time) was doing this test. Now even if you get 0 on that test doesn’t mean your feelings aren’t valid, and you don’t need help or you don’t deserve therapy! I for one always courage people to go talk to someone at least once or twice if possible even if you feel completely fine. Again I cannot diagnose you and I highly recommend getting a professional diagnosis if you see yourself fitting certain traits.  Also you said you don’t think you need medicine and that’s super valid, and even if you ‘’needed’’ it doesn’t mean you have to medicate yourself. Medication isn’t for everyone but therapy is definitely a good ‘’medicine’’.

Now my first suggestion is to visit a school psychologist (if you go to school and have access obviously). From there you can meet a koululääkäri who is qualified to give a diagnosis if that’s needed and can send a lähete to your local mental health centre. My sister is currently waiting to get approved for the free therapy that HUS proved, so I only know that’s how it works here in Uusimaa, but if you live somewhere else I suggest looking into your sairaanhoitopiirin mielenterveyspalvelut. But definitely a good start is school psychologist as they usually have the right resources. In case you know your school has a shitty psychologist (like we did) or maybe you don’t go to school or your school doesn’t provide them well, the best place to start looking for help is here. 

Since you’re still young I would recommend this site to look for what your city provides. And if you live in pk-seutu my friends have used this site as well, as well as an adult you can go through HUS if you live around here. 

So as for free therapy your best place to go is through school psychologist, and some cities provide like 2-5 free therapy visits for young people. But if you feel like not a few therapy sessions are enough, and you feel your mental health going downhill rapidly, I would recommend visiting a doctor. You can just visit your local doctor and tell how you’ve been feeling and they can send a lähete (love that idk the word hfgsdjk) to health care professionals, and from there you can visit a psychiatrist who can give a proper diagnosis if that’s apparent. The reason why I’m suggesting getting a diagnosis is because if you get a proper diagnosis, maybe even start medication if that seems fit, you are eligible for KELAn kuntoutuspsykoterapia. More on that subject you can read here, or just go to KELA’s website for more info on how you can get it. Now therapy through there isn’t free but it’s definitely cheaper than just paying for a private therapist.

Itte tykkään näistä mielenterveystalon sivuista et siellä on aika paljon hyviä apuja ja neuvoja yms. niin kannattaa niitä selailla. Mutta tosiaan jos nopeasti haluu päästä niinkun prosessin aloittamaan niin yksityinen on todella tehokas, mutta ne sit tosiaan on hintavia vaihtoehtoja. Jos niitä haluut kuitenki tutkia niin Mehiläinen ja Aava on hyvä paikka etsiä nuorisopsykiatreja (ja niiden hintoja jotka tosiaan ei ole pieniä, mut laitan nyt kuitenki esimerkiksi). Back to english bc I like to mix things up hjfgsdjkfhasdkl... Just remember no matter how small you think your issues are, they are never too small to ask for help. I was hesitant to first call for help because I thought exactly like you ‘’other’s need it more’’, but remember that you needing help doesn’t take away from others.  You are just as valid, and if you keep thinking ‘’someone has it worse’’ you might find yourself being worse off if you postpone getting help yourself.  You saying ‘’nothing is wrong but i can’t pull myself together’’ doesn’t sound like nothings wrong honey. But again I cannot diagnose you, or tell you what to do, but just know I’ve gone through something very similar and I went and got help and I am in such a better place now.
