try things out, anything you want! do you see a piece of gear you like? go for it! feel like “acting like a certain character” have fun! feel weirdly connected to a creature? see where it takes you!

talk to others in the otherkin/therian/nonhuman/voidpunk communities! it’s totally ok to not be sure, and just being around others is a great way to learn more

be ok with mistakes! you might end up being wrong about something you think you kin, and that’s ok too! it’s all part of the journey!

don’t be afraid to ask questions! most of us who’ve got our kintypes figured out will be happy to answer!

don’t worry too much! be ok with not knowing! have fun with it! it’s ok to have fun, and just enjoy it all! being nonhuman can be a wonderful experience of self discovery!

journal your process! write down things and patterns you notice, looking back on them after a while might help you to notice things you didn’t before!

experiment with your self expression! see if certain ways of acting, dressing, etc seem to give you that special sense of euphoria!

I decided that I might as well make an about me post. Everything is under the cut, you don’t have to read it before interacting but it’d be cool if you did (so you know a bit about me beforehand, especially if messaging me directly)!

Hi! My name’s Chaos or Ihhfh, which is pronounced ih-hiff (like the first part of in next to the middle part of shift). I go by other things, like Endo, Enigma, or Void, but Chaos/Ihhfh are my primary names. You really can call me what you like/what you feel fits best for me! I don’t really mind too much :)

I’m aroace, genderqueer, amatopunk and voidpunk/nonhuman. I use any pronouns (including xenos, neos, emojiselves and nounselves), but prefer it/they. I like dehumanizing names and terms, so calling me stuff like “creature” and “thing” is appreciated in casual conversation and affirmation. I’m radinclus, so I accept and support all “good-faith” queer identities (like xenogenders) but am against harmful ones (like transrace).

My personal stances and beliefs:

I don’t really ever dni people, but if you are a radqueer, a pro/complex-contact “big 3” paraphile, a queer exclusionist/puritan, an unnecessary gatekeeper, a cop lover, an anti-shipper or just a general bigot, please keep in mind that I do not like you, I do not condone you or your actions, I do not support you and I may actively express this distaste towards you and others like you in any media I may post, create or share. However, those who are actively trying to better themselves, recovering or reforming from believing in any of these or identifying as any of these are welcomed with opened paws! Politics wise, I am based around leftist extremism and believe in philosophies like revolutionary, anarchist, and pseudo-communist/socialist beliefs. Fanfiction info:

I take fic requests, but I reserve the right to refuse any if they are based around a topic/ship I am uncomfortable with. Also, my asks are open because of this, and I have anon turned on so people can request a fic they may not be comfortable with people on their account knowing they requested. Please use this feature properly. I reserve the right to any anger, cynicism, or mistrust I feel towards any anons or asks I receive that do not fill this quota.

Fanfiction requests will usually be completed within a month’s time, unless under unique circumstances. Please do not pressure me to write if I’m taking a while, I will likely complete it eventually and will directly tell you if I am unwilling to fulfill your request!

This is a blog intended for me to go on rambles regarding Complex Dissociative Disorders and systems. But I'll most likely have some off topic rambles too. I'll tag my CDD and system-oriented rambles with #sysblur and tag my miscellaneous rambles with #schizo-posting.

I am neurodivergent and suspect to have schizotypal personality disorder so I often struggle with properly expressing and discerning intentions and the way I process the world around me often deviates from what's considered "normal". 5. The specifics have been lost to the sands of time, it was a bunch of things that snowballed into me finally taking on the label when I was 20 or so. I live in a very conservative state so even as a kid there was this huge emphasis on getting married and starting a family even as a kiddo, and I just... didn't relate. I'd get the "oh, you'll find someone someday" spiel and just dismiss it with a "yeah ok sure" indifference. I figured out I didn't want kids pretty early on too. When everyone in junior high was pairing off and playing grab-ass I remember distinctly feeling like I was surrounded by aliens (and not the cool kind).

When I was around 14 or so I was subjected to an absolutely odious church activity where we made "wedding cans" where we were supposed to talk about our dream wedding, write a love letter to out future spouse, talk about how many kids we wanted and what we were going to name them, all sorts of drivel like that that we were supposed to open up and show our spouse later for some reason. And I just felt...dirty. And pissed. I played along (putting deliberately stupid answers to everything) but opened the can up a few days later, went outside, soaked everything in it in acetone, and burned all the paper to ash (very safe, I know 😅)

Similarly, when I was 18, those same ladies IMMEDIATELY started trying to set me up on dates with all the single randos around the ward, which similarly pissed me off. What was I, a fucking broodmare? I ripped the lady who was the ringleader of it a new one, which I did feel a little bad about because she really thought she was being helpful, but still, it put a stop to it REAL fast.

So I put the pieces together that most of humanity- even many otherwise intelligent people- have some kind of internal impetus to paie off and breed that I just...don't. AND a lot of what's conventionally considered romantic- pairing off, partners "belonging" to each other and having no lives of thier own, the way you're expected to throw all other connections in your life out the nearest airlock once you find The One- and anything that reminded me of that expectation made me feel downright sick. (I deadass thought my siblings would stop loving me whenever they dated someone. It sucked)

So when I found out that aromanticism was A Thing it didn't take me long at all to realize that that's me. I ID'd as "just" arospec for a while to pacify the last of the "you'll find The One someday" arguments but eventually I dropped even that pretense.

9. Can't go wrong with the classic, I think. I'm a sucker for anything with that green, black, white and grey color scheme because of it. I've always liked the triangle demiromantics get even though that's not a label that applies to me.

17. Amatopunk is based as fuck and something the entirety of humanity needs a crash course on. I've also been drawn to the "evil aro" concept a bit recently because while I'm not loveless I very much do fit some of the negative stereotypes and am not sorry at all about it (I'm highly romance repulsed and not at all interested in coddling the feelings of allos that put romance on a pedestal.) Also while not aro labels, evilpunk and voidpunk both heavily overlap with my experiences as a neurodivergent aro person (evilpunk with how society demonizes living for yourself and not living a life of constantly putting other's needs before your own, voidpunk due to humanity's obsession with romance being another thing that seperate me from them.)

rabid pride/rabies pride/rabiosexual/rabiespunk: a movement for neurodivergent trans people, who are often not taken seriously due to things they were born with and can’t control, to reclaim the fact that they are seen/treated as animals, contagious, diseased, etc. and to embrace their ‘feral’/’rabid’ characteristics. those who consider themselves rabid accept that they and other rabid folks are hyper, loud, open about their gender and neurotype, or otherwise ‘too much’ for cis neurotypicals. overall, this movement is focused on accepting oneself, finding others like you, and agreeing that no neurodivergent trans person should have to act ‘normal’ or hide their identity and symptoms to be perfect and proud.

here’s my rabies flag design! i’m definitely open to criticism, since i’m not 100% sure if i’m happy with it. you can check out this post to get a link to the original coiner’s description of rabies pride (and a discussion on how it was turned into a meme and completely divorced from its original meaning) - after learning this information, i decided to make this flag for myself and anyone else who wants to reclaim rabies pride!

i’m proposing the term rabiespunk to distinguish this term from rabies in general and to match with many other terms related to reclamation of queer and neurodivergent identities/stereotypes (such as voidpunk, amatopunk, and trenderpunk)! rabiosexual causes a lot of confusion, which is why i prefer not to use it for myself and wanted another term, but it’s up to you whether you prefer to use rabid, rabiosexual, or rabiespunk!

the colors all have multiple meanings, and most of the meanings are linked to meanings of other stripes, so i’m going to describe them in sets:

blue, pink, and yellow all represent the trans aspect of rabies pride (blue for male/masc/etc. trans people, pink for female/fem/etc. trans people, yellow for nonbinary/neutral/etc. trans people)

red, pink, and yellow all represent actual rabies (red for blood, pink and yellow to represent someone foaming at the mouth)

blue, green, and brown represent nature, both because rabid animals come from nature and to represent that neurodivergencies and trans identities are natural (blue for the sky, green for plants, brown for dirt and fur)

green, red, and yellow all represent the neurodivergent aspect of rabies pride (red comes directly from my neurodivergent flag, green and yellow are different shades in this flag but are also featured in that flag, and you can check that link to see their meanings in the nd flag)

brown also represents neurodivergent trans people of color, as they’re subject to more frequent and more dangerous stereotypes, and thus their experience of rabies pride may distinctly feature a reclamation of that. the specific shade of brown i used is a blend of the black and brown stripes from the philadelphia pride flag.

I do have my pronouns along with other little bits of information I've deemed important in the bio of my blog, but! It's not as simple as just the fae/it I have listed there so thank you for the opportunity to expand upon them! also speaking of my bio I'm thinking of putting "kotlc god" in there now that people have called me that cause I think it would be fun, but I'm on the fence about it at the moment. anyway!

The two primary pronouns I share with people are fae/faer and it/its pronouns, but my favorite between the two of them is the it/its. It's not listed as it/faer just because I've had it the other way for so long that changing it feels off, but the pronouns that give me the most euphoria are it/its! The fae/faer are also nice and satisfying, and that's why they're one of my other primary pronouns!

However, you may see me from time to time referring to myself with they/them, which is because those are the pronouns I use publicly in real life. People are more open to and aware of they/them pronouns rather than it/its, and as I don't feel like explaining my reasoning and also possibly endangering myself if closed minded people are around, I go with the they/them. It's a habit and sometimes I'll use them here and on other sites without realizing. I won't be upset with anyone for using they/them for me, so truly don't worry about it!

Also, if you refer to me with any others that's fine too! I wouldn't even point it out if it happened. I'd probably just be like "huh that's new" and move on, so if you she/he/they/xe/ae/ze/anything else me, cool! Pronouns are fun and I don't mind being referred to in different ways, it/its and fae/faer just happen to be at the top of the lists for the moment! if you want you can just pick a pronoun to assign to me and use those! My gender is undefined and I enjoy voidpunk rhetoric when it comes to it, so there really is nothing strict.

I know some people struggle with these kinds of pronouns because they think they're being rude, but you aren't! I like them quite a bit and like when they're used. If anyone is interested, I can also explain why I like them and how reaffirming they are to ease any of that anxiety--or if you're just curious. It has a lot to do with monsters and autism, but both in good ways!

Sorry for the question, I'm curious. People with a female/male/non-binary/agender (and others) gender identity,can identify with the voidpunk? Like,they can identify with one gender and being voidpunk at the same time? For an example, I'm agender,but i found out that i identify with voidpunk too. By the way... is it "mandatory" to use the pronouns "it/it's"? Or can people wear what they feel comfortable with?

Hey! We prefer to answer questions on our other blog @mogai-corvidae so please ask any questions you have about voidpunk there in the future. We’ll answer this here, for now, though, since it is a very good question.

Voidpunk is a movement or subculture that was created for anyone who has an identity that is dehumanized, and the purpose of voidpunk is reclaiming that dehumanization. It is based off of and might be considered a specific subgroup underneath the punk subculture as a whole. There are a few specific groups that were mentioned in the original posts of voidpunk’s creator and major contributors, but it also has been made very clear that the label is for anyone and everyone who has ever been dehumanized and who wants to reclaim that dehumanization. Those who often choose to use the label include but are not limited to aromantics and other a-specs, nonbinary people, trans people, disabled people, neurodivergent people, and BIPOC. Any given minority who faces dehumanization and who chooses to reclaim it in any way can participate, and participation doesn’t require anything else. You do not have to be a certain gender or any specific identity to be voidpunk, you just have to be someone who has been dehumanized for their identity who is reclaiming that dehumanization in whatever way you personally want to do so.

There are a few common ways voidpunks often choose to reclaim and embrace their dehumanization. One way is, for example, using it/its pronouns. It is common for trans people and certain other minorities to be called “it” in a derogatory and dehumanizing way, so reclaiming that can be very empowering for some people. However, it is absolutely not required to use them. It is not required to dress a certain way, either, although there are some common styles that voidpunks use to represent their identity. Voidpunk is about reclamation, not doing things that make you uncomfortable or feel inauthentic to your identity. Voidpunk is about marginalized people reclaiming and embracing parts of their oppression, and there are no specific requirements other than choosing to do so and to use the voidpunk label. Voidpunk may often have to do with gender and very much is a movement for trans and nonbinary people, but it isn’t a gender in and of itself. (You may be thinking of the gender voidpunkic, which is a gender related to the voidpunk subculture.) Anyone of any gender can use the voidpunk label! Again, it’s about reclaiming dehumanization, and that doesn’t require being a certain gender or doing a certain thing or anything else other than what it says on the tin.

Voidpunk as a subculture has always been, at least in our experience, extremely open to diversity and to complex identities. Voidpunks are people (or beings, entities, etc.) who have been oppressed and dehumanized and who chose to reclaim that in whatever way feels empowering to them, whether that be simply identifying with the voidpunk label, choosing to get body modifications to like an alien and use it/its pronouns exclusively, or anything in between. It’s whatever you personally choose to make of it and whatever is empowering and reclamatory to you, personally.

Aro Zine - Anyone Interested In Participating?

Hey all! So something that I very much want to do is make an aromantic zine. I know that there are already a couple out there, but tbh there can never be too many! Also it could be a fun little thing to work on during this here quarantine we're all in. I have several ideas as to what /could/ be included (outlined below), but absolutely nothing is set in stone, and I'm very open to suggestions. Anyone at all could make a contribution- I myself would probably want to contribute some writing, as well as organization/facilitation of the whole process. Tbh I've never done this before, so there would probably be the odd bump in the road, and I would welcome advice/help from anyone who actually knows what the hell they're doing, just so y'all know. Please let me know if you're interested in participating in any way, shape, or form! I have no idea if there's any actual interest in this kind of thing, so please lmk!

Current Ideas:

The Colour Green (i was thinkin a kinda poetic, kinda humorous rumination on the colour green, symbolism etc)

Inhuman (voidpunk! hell yes)

Aro Affirmations (basically what is says on the tin)

No Romo Love Stories (short stories of non-romantic love, whether it be loving your friends, family, pets, world, self, or literally anything else. a nice little feel-good section!)

This World Wasn't Made for People Like Us (navigating this world as an aromantic person can be tough- how does aromanticism affect our day-to-day lives? where do we rub up against the system? in my brain this is kinda a comic, but entirely text-based is also obvs a possibility)

Answers to Those Awkward Questions (a more humorous section! creative and funny ways to respond to the nagging questions about romance/marriage/love/etc)

The Vocab Quiz (a lot of the time, coming out as aro means having to teach people a hell of a lot of new words.... that they never seem to remember. wouldn't it be nice if we could reinforce their learning with a quiz to make sure they actually retain this stuff? here you have it! formatted to look like an actual vocab quiz!)

Aromanticism: Past, Present, and Future (historical and philosophical stuff! there isn't a whole lot of aromantic history, but there is some! where did this community come from, where are we now, and where are we headed? also potentially include stuff/interviews/quotes from older aromantics! hell yes)

Aromanticism is Punk as Hell (more of a collage page in my head. also pretty much what it says on the tin- an aropunk moodboard kinda deal)

Aros in the Spotlight (famous aros! the only one coming to mind rn is Moses Sumney, but i know there are more- im just too lazy to google that rn)

Aro Tunes/Movies/Books/Etc. (aro friendly media! as well as songs/stories/etc that resonate with aros)

Aromatic Aromanticism (this is more of an iffy suggestion tbh. based on how similar the two words are- what does aromanticism smell like? would be cool if someone with synesthesia would maybe wanna do this? idk man)

Aro Art by Aro Artists (art!!! in all its glorious forms. doesn't even have to be on the topic of aromanticism, though that would be totally rad ofc. just want to celebrate the wonderful and talented artists in this community)

Prompts

The prompts below are a guideline for the week’s events, though you are not obligated to stick to them when participating. They’re completely optional, and more of a source of inspiration than a mandatory guideline. Feel free to explore them however you’d like; an explanation for each is given, but you can interpret them differently if you want to.

Additionally: This year, we are including some more open-ended secondary prompts along with the main prompts for each day. DAY THREE: Across the A-Spectrum “Asexual” and “aromantic” are umbrella terms encapsulating a wide spectrum of identities. From grayromantic to demisexual, from nebularomantic to caedsexual—there are many other labels on the a-spectrum. This is a day for exploring those microlabels and the characters you associate them with in the context of Arda. Secondary prompts: Hope, Complexity, Diversity

DAY FOUR: Worldbuilding Are all elves really demisexual? What’s up with one third of dwarven populations focusing on their craft instead of taking a spouse? How do soul bonds work between elven couples who don’t want to have sex? What kinds of prejudices exist in various Mannish cultures across Middle-earth? Do aspec hobbits feel pressure to settle down and have large families? Today is a day to explore all those questions (and more!) that are specific to Arda and how they interact with aspec identities. Secondary prompts: Community, Change, Family

DAY FIVE: Relationships Aspec people can have many different kinds of relationships, including romantic and sexual ones—but some kinds of relationships are more unique and common to the aspec communities, such as queerplatonic ones. Queerplatonic relationships are deeply personal and beautifully uninhibited by nature, yet are often overlooked in fanworks: this is an opportunity to remedy that! And of course, let’s not discount the other relationships that make up our lives; familial and platonic relationships are important too! Today is a day for exploring all these different kinds of relationships in the context of Arda. Secondary prompts: Companionship, Intimacy, Queerplatonic

DAY SIX: Intersectionality There is more to a person’s life than just their orientation. How does being aspec interact with a character’s other identities and experiences, such as race or disability or religion? What’s the impact of a character’s aspec identity on their gender or other orientation labels? Today is a day for exploring the intersections of the aspec experience with other aspects of identity. Secondary prompts: Connection, Relief, Friendship

DAY SEVEN: Freeform These prompts can only capture so much of what it means to be aspec in Arda. This day is to discuss and create about anything that was missed, or to go back and explore something again. Secondary prompts: Love, Vulnerability, Identity
