A/n: I was supposed to post and finish this on Thursday but my friend wanted to do something and I got lazy during the weekend sooooooo yeah. ENJOY!!!

PS: Happy Valentines Day

You were currently in the bio lab in DEO national city base. Kara specifically asked you to analyze the mysterious Kryptonian that crashed and landed on Earth a few days ago while she said goodbye to Clark. You were a certified trauma surgeon with a fellowship in genetics and you also have a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering which made you become a BIo engineer just like your mom, Eliza.

You were doing another quick analysis on the Kryptonian. You couldn’t do any blood work or doing that is related to puncturing into his skin since his skin is basically bulletproof. You couldn’t use a small dose of kryptonite to weaken him because of the Metallo incident which made J'onn give Clark the rest of the remaining kryptonite so he can destroy it. So you had to stick with x-rays, MRIs, CAT scans, etc.

You were sitting next to the mysterious Kryptonian checking his vitals. You decided to make some small talk to the dude since no one is around and the two were alone. You know that he is in some coma but still, you were bored.

“Soooooo, mystery man, what should I call you. Mike, David, Johnny, Chris, Kai?” you said to the comatose Kryptonian.

“Ok, how about…” you got intercepted when the Kryptonian gasped and looked right at you.

You were about to grab your phone to call Kara, but you were interrupted by the Kryptonian wrapping his around your throat choking the living hell out of you. He threw you against the wall which caused you to knock out. All you are hearing right now is ringing coming from your ears and Alex asking whether or not you are okay before you knocked out

An hour later you woke up in the med bay with your head still buzzing. You sat up and saw that Alex and Kara were outside talking with J'onn. She saw that you were awake and went inside along with Kara.

“Oh my god, I thought something really bad happened to you!” Alex exclaimed as she hugged me.

Kara came in after Alex hugged me straight after. Gave me even a bigger hug which was a little too much.

“Kara…..you're…..hurting……me!” you exclaimed while in pain

Kara replied,” sorry sorry sorry, it happens.”

A few days later Kara found the Kryptonian, Mon-el, or should I say Daxamite. His Planet, Daxam, and Krypton weren’t exactly the best of friends. You were in the training room with Winn and Kara, those were given a test run of what exactly are powers which was a version of Kryptonians but slightly watered down. You were there to monitor his vitals and do a quick study of his physiology/anatomy.

You were done ten minutes ago and the others said you could leave, but you decided to stay because earlier Mon-el took off his shirt and couldn't help but stare. I mean who wouldn't stare. The dude is a God-made from heaven and you have been staring a little too long to see to the point where Kara took notice.

When you were 13 you found that you were gay. You didn’t tell any of your family including Alex because you were afraid that they were gonna kick you out. But later an incident involving the biggest bully in Midvale caused you to come out. Fortunately, your family was supportive and loved you for who you are. (we need for families like this tbh)

Kara walked over and stood next to me

“You're staring,” kara said whispered

You replied while whispering harshly,” am not.”

We went on this for a minute till Mon-el took notice. Mon-el felt bad for attacking you earlier. When he came to this world he didn’t know the full extent of his powers when he first woke up. He also noticed that you were staring at him. He couldn't help smirk at your cuteness, he got to admit he has a slight crush on you. He decided to jump on this conversation and walked over to the two.

“So what you two razzle dazzle’s talking about,” Mon-el said with confidence.

You and Kara stopped and turned their heads then replied in a slight panic “ NOTHING!!”

After that, your phone got a notification that said that you were needed back at the bio lab. Alex needs your help to analyze something. And you left.

3rd POV

When M/N left Mon-el took the opportunity to ask Kara a bunch of questions in regards to M/N. Kara was very confused on why he is asking these types of

“Sooooo…..is M/N single or something,” Mon-el asked Kara

Kara replied, “no he’s not…why?”

Kara thought why he is asking and realized that Mon-el was developing a crush on M/N and thought it was cute.

A Few Months Later

Over the last couple of months, your and Mon-el’s friendship grew ever since the incident. You absolutely adored how he would talk about the different things he discovered of his time at Earth. Like how he would listen to too Bon Jovi and begin to read plays from Shakespeare. Also as time went by your feelings more Mon-el grew exponentially. He was honestly star-struck by how much this world has to offer. He also loved how you talked about science, he knew how much passion you have for your line of work and loved how it made you happy.

The two of you were in bio lab currently, mon-el had nothing to right now over than the training sessions with Kara which he hated. So he decided to bother you until kara came to get him. You were in the lab analyzing some blood samples that Alex asked you to do.

“So what are you doing?” Mon-el asked

You replied, “ science stuff,” you looked away from the microscope and turned to face him, “ Aren’t supposed to be with Kara training or whatever.”

Mon-el leaned closer and said, “ Well yeah but I would love to spend this time with you.”

He leaned even closer to point the two of you were face to face. You decided to lean in even more so that you could feel each other's breath. Before you guys could continue you were interrupted by Alex.

“Hey, earlier we brought in an alien, and one of our own needs some stitches,” Alex said

You and mon-el pulled away and got into an awkward tension. You nodded at Alex meaning you were gonna be there in a few. Alex notice the tension in the room gave you a look. All you did was shrugged it off. She left the room and left you and mon-el alone in the lab. You quickly stood up and faced Mon-el

“I have to go,” you said in a hurry.

Mon-el was about to say something but couldn’t say something bc you bolted out. Kara came inside after you left and dragged Mon-el to the train.

Al’s Dive Bar

You were at the bar alone drinking.it was just you and a few other aliens around so it wasn’t an eventful night. You were about to order another drink but got interrupted by mon-el sitting next to you.

“Hi,” mon-el said with a smile.

You smiled back at him and replied, “Hey.”

30 minutes later you guys were talking about random stuff that you guys could think of and laugh your asses off. After it dialed down a bit Mon-el looked at you with love. You saw this thought there was something on your face.

You asked curiously, “what…. Is there something on my face?”

You started to touch your face to see if there is anything. Mon-el took your hands and put them down and replied.

“No no no it's not that.” he looked into your eyes and he felt his cheeks heat up and blush, “you're just….really handsome.”

You started to blush too. He used his hands to cup you're cheeks and started to lean in. you started in lean in also, you both stopped when you're lips were about to meet.

“Is it ok if I kiss you?” Mon-el asked curiously, he really wanted to kiss you.

You nodded and replied, “ yeah.”

He leaned in and kissed you. You let him kiss you for a moment until you decided to kiss back. After a few minutes, you ask him if he wanted to come to your place to…..do it.

Morning after

You woke up to your alarm going off. You shut your alarm off and looked over you're shoulder seeing Mon-el left the bed. You looked at you're door and smelled bacon coming from the kitchen. You're put on you're boxers and shirt from the floor and went to the kitchen. When you went to the kitchen to see that mon-el was at the stove making eggs with bacon. You went up to him and wrap your arms around him.

You took in the smell in front of you and said “it smells amazing.”

“Thanks, Kara has been teaching me,” Mon-el said with pride.

He put the bacon and the eggs on the table and went over to me. He came over and warped his arms around my waist and kissed me. We went to the table and started to eat. We ate in silence which was a comfortable silence. Mon-el looked at me and asked

“So since we both like each other. Like get into each other's pants type of thing,” he paused for a second and continued.

“Since what I'm trying to say is that I want to take you out on a date like I'm talking about dinner or a movie or a……”

You interrupted by kissing him. The kiss lasted for a few seconds, we pulled apart and I responded, “I would love that.”

You guys kissed which turned into a full make-out session. It kept going on until mon-el asked for another round. You respond with a kiss and lips, he picked you up and carried you to the bedroom to go another round.

Top 5 Winn andBrainy fics (that aren’t by me):

The unnamed ficwritten by Pesky on April 20th, 2017. It isn’t very long, but I stillfeel like it fits into canon well, if they had been allowed to be morevulnerable with each other. This fic is really emotional, and sincere, andintimate? Especially given that they’re literally so close to each other. But Ilove how they interact here, and how they relate to one another so quickly,finding common ground and someone else who understands them- which, for boththeir characters, is easily seen as something they’d want. And it’s the firstfic, for a pairing that again wouldn’t interact until 9 months later- and yetit’s still so amazing, and works with their respective characters. It’s evenmore impressive coming from an author who hadn’t seen much of Supergirl- butsomehow managed to get Winn so right, as well as Brainy. I love it so much, andI’ve read it so many times I can’t count them all.

Illusion for theMoment by WinterSky101: Okay, this isn’t a romantic fic, so much as a friendship one, but Istill appreciate it so much. It has everything I love about these two, in canon,with their interactions, but the setting allows for an expansion on theirdynamic, and lets them be developed as a friendship. Especially where Brainytalks about his family- again, like the first one on the list, these twofinding common ground is one of my favorite things about their potentialrelationship. This fic is suspenseful, but there are also personal moments, andexplores who they are when they’re at their most vulnerable, and when they haveto be together- though, by the end, it becomes a choice rather than anobligation. I already loved this trope/cliché (see also DS9’s Heart of Stone,AF’s Alone Together) but the writing in this is just so stellar, and makes itunique and memorable and just a beautiful piece that, again, I’ve read so much.

Absolutely NoFeelings, Whatsoever by luminoussbeings: This one is definitely the funniest, of all the ones onthis list, and it’s absolutely a breath of fresh air between everything else,which (sorry) is pretty much all angst. But I still love it for that reason.The dialogue is just wonderful, and so natural that I could practically hear itbeing spoken. And I like that Winn’s the one with the crush? It’s a fundilemma, seeing him react to the image inducer in this way, and reading about himrealize that what he thought was just physical attraction is actually somethingelse is absolutely perfect. Would not have it any other way. And I’d love tosee more stories about them with this scenario, where Winn’s the one strugglingwith his feelings, and how that may eventually lead to their real relationship.Also I like Mon-El in this.

The Future NeedsHeroes by lukealvez: Short but very, very sweet. This one takes on the premise of the seasonfinale, and even though it is sad, it’s definitely a lovely and well-writtenconclusion to their story and their relationship. The way this author conveysemotions and feelings is so good, I just absolutely adore this writing styleand how this author portrays their relationship. ALSO I enjoy how the Indigothing was mentioned, because it’s important and she’s a character who existed!Just so beautiful and perfect, and again would love to see more of this kind ofthing.

Supervillain FamilyValues by @sholiofic: First of all, I love the title, it’s just perfect. This one is probablythe first major fic featuring these two, outside of ones Pesky or I wrote, andeven though it has been Jossed, I still adore it and how the conflict of Winn’sdad escaping is used to frame Brainy learning more about Winn and opening upabout his own issues, which in turn brings them closer together. Again, this isa thing that I love about these two, and something I want to see more of. The dialoguehere is, again, perfect, and it definitely reads like something that could’vecome from the show.

Honorable Mentions:

Anything written by @wintersky101 and @peskyshortcake. Both of them are so good! And they write thesetwo so well! A lot of Pesky’s stuff is sadly not available anymore, as shedeactivated her blog, but I’ve reblogged most of it. So, the stuff that isn’tunder readmores is still around, and it’s great. Winter’s stuff is absolutelyamazing as well, connecting the comics to the show and using the show on itsown in a way that’s just so good, and feels true to these characters howeverthey’re portrayed.

Goodbye UntilTomorrow by lukealvez, the first version of The Future Needs Heroes. Also short and sweet,but deserves a mention because it’s also very well-written and emotional, and Ijust adore it so much.

Lost Through Time by @koala-kat,which isn’t at all romantic because Brainy and Winn are brothers in thisversion. It’s just getting started, but I still love the premise, and itpromises to be a very interesting take on canon events. Just from the first 2chapters, I’m really enjoying how it was set up, and I can’t wait to see how these two got to wherethey are when they meet in season 3. I am absolutely here for it, and I’m alreadylooking forward to seeing how it plays out.

I Got a Jar ofDirt by Takara_Phoenix, which is very recent but also deserves a mention because, first of all,someone remembered how Brainy almost grabbed Winn’s face and looked like he wasgoing to kiss him. Which is a great scene. But also, in this fic, there’s adescription of how Brainy interacts with Winn, and just today, an interviewwith Jesse Rath was posted where he said something very similar! So you couldconsider this probably the most similar to canon, even though it diverges fromit later. But at least this author very much understands their interactions,which is wonderful.

Karamel AU Fanfic: The Casanova and the Blogger who called him out: Part 1

Mike wakes up to the sound of his phone ringing very loudly. He half opens his eyes and vaguely registers the off white ceiling with the dark brown fan. This is clearly not his home, and he's not surprised. Groaning because the noise won't stop, he stretches his left hand out to reach for his phone. Instead, his finger touches fabric, cotton with a hint of lace, if he has to guess from experience. That brings a tiny smile to his face. He finally sits up, runs his hands over his face, and sighs. Last night was fun, from what he remembers, but now he has another killer hangover. Reaching to his right now, he finds his phone on the bed side table and finally answers the persistent call. "Hello?"

"Mike, where are you?" comes Winn's panicked voice from the other end.

"I'm at-" Mike begins, but then pauses. He's honestly not sure where he is. It's some hotel he checked into, probably, and Winn would have better luck running his credit card than asking him. "I don't know, Winn."

"Do you know who you are with at least?" Winn asks with the tiniest hint of sarcasm in his voice.

"Of course I do! Her name is Tessa. Or Trisha. Or Bessy. Okay fine, I don't remember," he chuckles to himself, "But I can give you other details. Much juicier ones."

He can hear Winn's disappointment through the phone. "Just get into my office as soon as you can."

"What's the rush? It's only-" he looks around the room for a clock, but finds none. He checks the time on the top right corner of his phone, and is a little shocked to see it read 12:15. "Wow, it's late. But it's my off day. I don't have any shoots scheduled."

Winn sighs. "It's not that. It's Danvers. She has posted another blog post."

"Shit" is all Mike can say before he hangs up.

Kara Danvers checks the hit counter on her blog. It's been only three hours since her last post, but it already has over twenty thousand views.

When she got her degree in journalism, her sister (adopted) expected her to follow the lead of her cousin (biological) and become a reporter at some newspaper. Kara had considered it for a while too. She even started working at a leading magazine named CatCo, but instead of exposés of crimes and thrilling whistleblowers, the job was fetching coffee and donuts for the boss. She was fine with it at first, hoping she could climb the ladder slowly.

But it all changed the day she found her friend Eve Tessmaker sobbing in the women's restroom because she just had her heart broken by a guy. As Eve described to her how this famous actor with the stage name Mon-el had been wooing her for months, with chocolates and flowers and sweet promises, only to get into her pants and swiftly ghost her, something in Kara had snapped. What happened to Eve was nothing illegal- it was consensual and there was no case to press charges. But it was a whole different story morally. The woman's emotions had been toyed with and she had basically been defrauded. Something needed to be done about it. Men like these couldn't be let off the hook.

That's when the idea of a blog first struck her. Her first ever blog post was getting Eve's story out to the world. It had been an instant hit, and was picked up by major online websites. Soon, Mon-el's agent Mr. Scott had threatened to sue CatCo, and Kara was instantly fired by Snapper Carr for going behind his back and starting a, quote-unquote, tabloid gossip blog.

It didn't matter though. This wasn't the first time Mon-el had done this to a woman. Many more women came forward to Kara to tell their stories, some with screenshots of texts or even photographs to corroborate their claims. Kara's blog became a huge success, and she was nicknamed "Supergirl" for standing up for the women who had no other means to seek justice for themselves.

Today's story is the fifty-third one she has posted about Mon-el. Heaven knows there are enough other playboys to expose too, but something about Mon-el personally irks her. Maybe it is his snarky attitude or him acting like he's the prince of the world. Or maybe it's just the way he treats women. The sight of Mon-el aka Mike Matthews's face makes Kara Danvers' blood boil.

Mike manages to maintain his composure while he reads the entire blog post, his rising eyebrows betraying his amusement at times. Finally, he closes the laptop and turns to Winn. "Can't we sue her for defamation?"

"Not when she's not spreading lies," Winn answers, probably for the tenth time this month. "Maybe we need to get the women you sleep with to sign an NDA."

"Nobody will sleep with me if you make them sign an NDA," Mike replies. "That's part of the thrill of hooking up with a movie star. You get to tell people the story afterwards. Bragging rights for years and years."

"In case you didn't notice, man," Winn says with irritation, "the stories don't exactly paint you in a flattering light."

Mike shrugs. "Everything I do is perfectly legal and consensual. I'm not roofie-ing or raping women. I don't even get them drunk. I can't help it if the women fall in love with me and expect me to pursue a relationship after one night."

Winn rolls his eyes and glares at Mike all at the same time. His moral compass is beyond fixing, but the situation may not be yet. "Regardless, this is damaging your reputation. We need to do something about it."

Mike shrugs. "All right. What do you have in mind?"

Winn hesitates for a moment, mainly because he knows how Mike will react, but also because he himself is not entirely certain that this is a good idea. "I think it's time you and Miss Danvers had a face to face chat."

"About what?" Mike asks incredulously.

"I don't know. Maybe find a common ground? Reach a truce?"

Mike sends him a dirty look. "Isn't that what agents are for? No. Not just agents. Agent who happens to be my best friend."

"Your only friend if you keep up this kind of wild behaviour," Winn warns.

Mike brushes it off with just a wave of his hand. "What's Plan B?"

"There is no Plan B," Winn states firmly. "You're meeting Kara Danvers."

"You are not going to believe this, Alex," Kara tells her sister that night after dinner. "Mike Matthews wants to meet me."

Alex tenses, her protective older sister instincts overlapping with her FBI agent ones. "Should I be concerned?"

"Yeah, for him," Kara scoffs. "I have half a mind to punch him straight to another planet."

"Be careful, Kara," Alex warns. "You don't know what he's trying to pull."

Kara smiles at her sister reassuringly. "Don't worry. I'll call you if I need anything."

Chapter 1: Brainiac’s move

Chapter summary: Brainiac asks Kara out on a date in Mon-El’s presence. Mon-El’s POV.

We have just finished the debrief after our return from Fort Rozz and I hear Brainiac talk to Kara.

“Our records mentioned your strength and your intelligence, but I see that they do not properly reflect your beauty and grace. I have heard Mon-El talk about your eyes often but I was not aware that your hair could shine like that. Watching you fight was exciting. I find you very attractive.” Said Querl.

I can see Kara glancing at me with a pained expression when Querl mentions me, but she then looks back at him with an akward smile.

“Err… thanks, I guess.” Kara says.

“Would you like to have dinner with me?” Querl asks her.

“What?” Kara responds.

“What?“ I say. It seems that Kara and I have spoken at the same time.

“Dinner. With me. Isn’t this the appropriate social convention when someone has a romantic interest in a woman in this century?” Querl asks.

Kara blushes, and opens her mouth to respond to Querl and I suddenly find myself talking before she can say a word. "You can’t.“ I declare.

"I can’t?" Querl asks as he looks back at me with a raised eyebrow and a smirk. 

"They can’t?" asks Winn with very wide eyes.

Damn Brainiac. Is he doing this to irritate me? It is working. Annoying jerk.

I can hear Imra’s voice inside my head. "What are you doing, Mon-El?”

I can feel Kara’s eyes on me and I try to ignore everyone else while I speak to Querl. “You can’t. We have to work on our ship. We need to repair it. Remember?" I ask him with a pointed expression.

"You can keep on working on that on your own. Aren’t you a qualified engineer?" Querl challenges me.

He knows perfectly well that the ship is not that broken and that we could fix it if we wanted to. I cross my arms and I try to give him my best "this is an order” face. "I am. But I need to pick your brain on the therian pump. Isn’t superior intelligence your superpower, Brainy? We have go to the ship right now.“ I say. 

My face is a scowl and I can sense Imra’s voice. She is almost face palming. "Both of you!��Stop whatever this stupid game is. Grief, I work with children" Imra says in our heads.

"Okay. I will follow your orders as our supreme leader.” I can hear amusement in his voice. “Kara, I still want to have dinner with you whenever possible. Maybe tomorrow?” Querl says.

“Sure. Make it tomorrow.” Kara says with exasperation in her voice.

Uh oh. I know this tone. Kara is angry. Probably at me.

“Yes, she is.“ Imra states in my head.

Querl looks at me again and winks. What is he up to? Brainiac smiles at Kara and leaves. I start moving towards the exit after him and then I hear her voice.

"Mon-El, wait." Kara says. 

She has put her hand on my elbow and I feel powerless.

"I need to talk you for a second. Alone.” Kara says.

I open my mouth to say "No”. 

“Please?” Kara asks.

“Mon-El, don’t!“ Imra says telepathically.

Kara's eyes have always been my Kryptonite. "Of course. Do you want to talk somewhere else?” I ask her.

“Sure. The training room will do.” Kara states.

Imra gives me a warning in my head. “Remember that I cannot help you unless we are in the same room.“ 

“I know." I reply. I can feel Imra’s worry while I leave with Kara.

I enter the room after her, and she ensures that the window blinds and the doors are closed. Then she turns around and looks at me.

"What was that?” Kara asks.

Crap.

“What was what?” I reply.

She scoffs, "I can’t believe it.“ She says.

Yep, she is very angry with me now.

"What?" I say. I try to look like I don’t know what she is talking about, but I’m well aware that it won’t work.

"Stop this. You don’t get to act as if I am anyone else. You know perfectly well what I’m talking about.” Kara says.

I do. But I still hope that if I fake ignorance she will let this go. 

“No, I don’t.” I reply.

She huffs and gets closer to me. Rao, help me. I just want to kiss her so bad.

“You forget that I know you, and this is not the first time that I have seen this display of macho jealousy. It doesn’t look good on you, Mon-El.” Kara tells me.

“Jealousy? Pffft. No. Querl…” I say.

“Mon-El, please” Kara says. She looks at me with sadness in her eyes. "Please don’t do this. Not to me. I don’t understand you. I’m so confused. I need you to be honest with me. Please, Mon-El. What is going on with you?“ 

It breaks my heart that I can’t be honest. I hesitate. Rao, I hate this. I feel a pain in my chest and I look into her eyes. I can see unshed tears and I feel the need to hug her. I want to touch her face. I need to kiss her. She looks at my lips and I look at hers. I can feel her body so close to mine. My heart is stammering in my chest. I shouldn’t kiss her. Our breaths are mingling now. Our foreheads are almost touching and I can see turmoil in her eyes. My hand starts to move towards her face. 

I have to leave immediately. I move away from her. I cannot look at her, or I will kiss her and damned be the world. "I’m sorry, Kara. I have to go now.” I tell her.

“But…” she says.

At this point I’m almost running out of the room, and I feel like a coward.

I go to the ship, and I find Imra waiting for me in the Legion common room. I start to pace around the big table. 

“It didn’t go well, did it?” Imra asks me.

“You know that I hate when you enter my mind without my permission, Imra.” I tell her.

“Should I remind you that I have your permission to do it whenever I feel that it is necessary to keep you focused on the plan? Your plan. Your orders. And we both know that you were about to tell everything to Kara. And I didn’t even need to enter your mind to know it. It is obvious.” Imra states.

I stop near her and scratch my face. "I’m sorry, Imra. You are right. And I know that you are trying to help. It’s just… I couldn’t control my emotions. I shouldn’t have let Querl’s words to mess me up.“ I say.

"Yeah, I wonder what he is up to. He likes his games. And I accept your apology.” Imra replies.

“Thank you, Imra. I mean it.” I say. She nods and I sit down defeated in the chair closer to her. "I know that he can’t help behaving as an obnoxious jerk sometimes, but right now I have an intense desire to punch him in the face.“ 

"Yeah, I know the feeling. He has that effect on people.” Imra replies.

We both laugh and she then briefly touches my hand. "Are you okay? I can feel that you are having several conflicting emotions inside you.“ Imra states.

I scoff. That is the understatement of the year. I still feel an intense desire to go to the DEO, find Kara and kiss her senseless. I am upset because I can’t. I am so worried since her first fight with Reign. I swear to Rao that I thought that our records were wrong and that she was going to die. I have been so scared since that moment. Without Imra’s help I would have been unable to remain calm and focused on the mission.

I avoid Imra’s gaze. "Kara wanted to know what was going on with me. I lied to her again. I hate myself. I’m not being honest with her, and I’m hurting her.” I say.

“I know how you feel, Mon-El. Believe me, I know. I am the one that is helping you control your emotions, remember? You were the one who asked me to do it. And I still don’t like it. Kara should know the truth.” Imra tells me.

“You don’t know her, Imra. She would not care about her safety. It’s just the way she is.” I state.

“Even if we explain to her that her life is the key for the future of the world? That her survival is the only thing that can stop the spread of the darkness? That maybe that would prevent the World Killers from murdering Garth?” Imra says.

I look at Imra and I see one single tear in her face. I take her hand. Garth’s death was difficult for everyone, but I was the only one who could understand her pain about losing the love of her life forever.

We stay in silence for a minute, and then I talk again. "I know Kara. She will say that she will find another way, and she will try. In the end, it may not be sufficient. When the moment comes, she will not put her safety above others and everything will be lost. She can be a bit stubborn, you know.“ I explain to Imra.

"Then she reminds me of someone. Mon-El, you should at least tell her that we are not married and that you never stopped loving her. She feels the same about you. You deserve to be together. This situation is hurting both of you.” Imra says.

“I can’t. She knows me better than anyone else. If we get back together, she will find out that I have to die to protect her. She will try to stop me. She will risk everything to save me.” I state.

“She needs you. You need her. Even if you can only be together for a short period of time. Both of you are suffering so much. I sense the endless love each of you have for the other, and it’s overwhelming, Mon-El.” Imra says.

I say nothing, and then Imra sighs. "Mon-El.“ She whispers and I look at her. "If I could have Garth back in my arms for just one minute, I would take it. It would be worth it. I’m sure that it would be the same for you. For both of you.”

“That’s because you are stronger than me, Imra. I am a coward and I have always been. If I get to have Kara in my arms again I may not have the courage to give up my life when the moment comes.” I say.

“You are wrong. You are one of the bravest people that I have ever known, Mon-El. Your love for her is your strength. You need to talk to her.” Imra says.

“I won’t, Imra. I know that you want to help, but this is the right thing to do.” I tell her.

Imra looks at me with a sad smile in her face and says nothing. We have had this conversation so many times. We have discussed this repeatedly as a team and at the end the decision is always the same. This is my call, as the Legion leader and the person who knows Kara. She leaves me alone.

I sigh and I take the necklace out of my shirt. I need to feel it in my hands so it can give me some strength. Kara was right. We were so many years apart and she was always with me. I kept her in my heart and I worked hard to become the man that she believed that I could be. I feel shame because I’m lying to her again. I need to remember that she was the one who taught me that a hero has to do whatever it takes to protect citizens above else. I have to save the world from Reign’s destruction. I promise myself that I will be strong. I can do this, as long as she is safe.

I only wish that I could kiss her just once before my death.

I started writing this fic a couple weeks ago, and I promised myself that I would post it before the new year, so I'm pretty proud of myself for actually meeting that goal lol. NOTE: So my thoughts have been spinning since the midseason finale, and since the trailer for 3x10. Not only did we get our first peek of the Legion rings on the members, and our first glimpse of Brainiac 5, the end of the trailer seemed to have Kara in one of the stasis tanks on the Legion ship! This fic is pure speculation on what may happen for Kara to end up there. This fic also follows the theories that the marriage is fake and that the Legion's objective is to save Kara from Reign. With that said, enjoy!

Mon El thought he knew what fear felt like.

His life had been marked by that emotion. He felt it first when his planet died, and he was shoved into that little pod and shot out into the vastness of space. Then, when he landed on a strange planet, not knowing anyone, and finding out that he was the sole survivor of Daxam. His encounter with Parasite, being captured by CADMUS, getting shot, almost dying from Medusa. Gaining the courage to kiss Kara for the first time, and then having to admit his feelings to her, and then falling in love with her. Finding out his parents weren't really dead, losing Kara, traveling to another Earth to save her from Music Meister's spell. Almost going back to Daxam, getting locked up by his parents, the Daxamite invasion. Each moment had been scarier than the last, and none of it was more terrifying than almost dying when the lead was released into the atmosphere, and having to leave Kara again.

When he crashed into the 31st century, he was met with an almost calm acceptance. The feeling of crashing onto a strange planet was somehow familiar. His life was constantly filled with new beginnings, with pain, with fear. He knew the feelings well.

But in that moment, as he walked into the DEO med bay, Mon El realized that he was wrong. Mon El had never really, truly felt fear until the moment he saw Kara on the table, fighting for her life while Alex tried desperately to save her.

He felt panic rise up in his chest, and he was sure that his heart would collapse under the weight of it. He couldn't tear his eyes away from Kara, and he knew that the image of her would be burned into his retinas for a long time.

Her skin was paler than usual, and it had a thin layer of sweat. She had blood dripping down the side of her head and into her hair, staining her locks a dark, rusty color. She had tubes all over her, monitoring her vitals, and she even had one sticking out of her mouth.

Mon El had to remind himself to breathe. It wasn't right. She looked so helpless, so vulnerable, so human.

He couldn't even hear himself think over the sounds of the machines. They were beeping over and over again, reminding him and everyone else that something was very, very wrong.

His frantic thoughts were interrupted by a weird feeling in his mind. It felt almost as if someone was caressing his thoughts, turning them from shouts to whispers.

Imra. She was using her powers on him, trying her best to soothe his fear and calm him down. This was one of the reasons he had recruited her for this mission in the first place. Not only was she dedicated to the cause, but her unique power served as a safety net for whenever he strayed from the objective. She was there to give his mind a gentle nudge and make sure he stayed focused on the task at hand.

"She'll be okay," Imra told him aloud, squeezing his hand slightly as she spoke, while continuing to soothe his thoughts as best as she could. His eyes flickered down to hers briefly. He could tell that she wasn't worried. In the back of his mind, he knew that there really was no reason to be. They had seen this all play out in the history books, and Imra was right. Kara was going to be okay.

But it didn't matter. No amount of mind control could take away his worry for the woman he loved.

He was taken away from his thoughts by Alex's voice. "Stay with me, Kara," she muttered to her sister, her voice shaking slightly as she spoke. Her terror was evident in her eyes as she looked at her. "Stay with me."

As she spoke, one of the machines started beeping again, indicating that what Alex and the other medics were doing wasn't working. All he could do was watch in silent shock.

This wasn't right. She wasn't supposed to die. She can't die.

"We need to get her under a yellow sun lamp," one of the medics told Alex, but the agent was already shaking her head.

"No..." Alex replied, not taking her eyes off of Kara as she spoke. "We need to stabilize her before we can do that. The sun lamps will only help her if she's stable. Otherwise they won't heal her fast enough and..." She trailed off her words, not having the strength to finish her sentence.

He could tell that Alex was starting to lose her patience, seeming to get more frustrated with each beep of the machines.

He knew that the other medics were speaking, but he couldn't hear them over his own thoughts. They played in his head like a mantra.

No, no, no, no, no...

"This should be working," Alex exclaimed. He could hear her unshed tears in her voice, and her frustration was evident.

Mon El was no doctor, but the look on Alex's face scared him. It was one full of uncertainty, of fear, of worry. It told him that she didn't know what else she could do to save Kara's life.

It was Alex's look that shocked him into action. Suddenly, an idea popped into his mind, and before he even had a chance to think about it, he voiced it aloud.

"Put her in cryosleep."

The room fell silent with his words; the only sound was the noise of the machines. Alex didn't look up from her work, but the expression on her face showed him that she was open to suggestions at this point. From the corner of his eye, he saw Imra snap her head towards him, but he ignored her.

"What are you talking about?" J'onn asked. He had been standing next to Mon El in silence, watching Alex with worry evident on his face. Now, he looked at Mon El with skepticism.

Before Mon El could respond, he felt Imra in his brain, harshly tugging at his mind. This went against their entire plan, but he didn't care. Kara's life was more important, and he couldn't just stand there and do nothing. He focused all his energy on ignoring the pull in his mind before he spoke.

"The stasis tanks on our ship. If you put her in cryosleep, the ship will repair the damage to her body and stabilize her. It should work as long as you can get her there."

Mon El made eye contact with Winn as he spoke. Terror was plastered on his face, and he ran his hands through his hair, trying to calm himself down. He was too scared to speak, but Mon El didn't miss the small glimmer of hope that appeared in Winn's eyes, mixing with his panic and worry. He could tell that Winn was on board with the idea.

J'onn thought about it for a moment before directing his attention to the agent. "Alex. Your call."

She chewed on her lip, weighing her options as she looked down at her sister. One look at the machine, however, and her mind was made up. "Okay." She whispered.

Mon El was about to turn around and leave the medbay when he felt Imra in his head, stopping him dead in his tracks. She had a vice grip on his mind, holding him in place.

"Mon El," she hissed, just quiet enough so only he could hear.

He looked over at her, pleading with his eyes. He knew that she disagreed with helping Kara right now, but surely she wouldn't stop him, right?

Please, Imra, he pleaded in his mind, hoping that she would listen to him. He knew there was no mistaking the desperation in his thoughts. Please.

As Mon El thought the words, he saw her eyes soften, and he knew she had caved. She let go of his mind with a sigh. Once he had regained control of himself, he snapped into action.

"Let's go," he ordered, turning around and leaving the medbay, the squeaking of Kara's stretcher echoing behind him.

Mon El stood silently in front of one of the stasis tanks on the ship; the one that he had just helped Alex, Winn and J'onn put Kara into. His arms were crossed in front of his chest, but even that couldn't prevent them from shaking.

There she was— her eyes closed, her skin pale and her hair floating around her head in a golden halo. She had a white band secured to her forehead to help them to track her vitals while she healed. Kara. His Kara.

He couldn't take his eyes off of her. He had to be there for her when she woke up, and he worried that he would miss that moment if he looked away.

That's why Mon El was surprised when someone came up to him, grabbing his left bicep and spinning him around to face them. Once his eyes settled and he registered the face, he let out a sigh. He knew this was coming.

Imra.

He had a lot of explaining to do; that much was for sure. He was supposed to be the leader of the Legion. He wasn't supposed to be the one messing up their mission.

He was about to try to fumble his way through an apology when she interrupted him.

"What the hell, Mon El?"

He almost wanted to chuckle at her words. He had missed this Imra in recent days. Now that Alex, Winn and J'onn were immersed in their own conversations, Imra could finally drop the "sweet and docile wife" act. He had to admire her commitment to the job, because the Imra he knew was anything but docile.

It was only now that they were alone that he saw the Imra that he had known in the 31st century. She was fierce and she was determined and she was empathetic and she was passionate.

And she was pissed at him.

Her eyes were ablaze with anger, and in that moment, Mon El was thankful that she didn't have heat vision.

"Imra, I'm sorry," he started, his voice sounding exasperated already. He knew this conversation was coming, but that doesn't mean he was ready for it.

Imra just scoffed at him before continuing. "You should be sorry." She crossed her arms in front of her chest. "You're putting everything we've worked for at risk."

"I know," he muttered.

"We've been planning this for months... for years! You've been planning it!" She threw her arms up over her head. pacing back and forth as he talked. She stopped moving and dropped her arms to her side. "I... I just don't get it, Mon El. Explain it to me. Please."

Mon El opened his mouth, ready to answer, but nothing came out. He didn't know how to explain his reasons to her, because truthfully, the answer was quite simple. He did it because it was Kara, and he couldn't stand to see her like that. He had to do something.

She sighed when he said nothing. "We're lucky that we didn't mess anything up when she found you on the ship, and we're already trying to do this job while we have men still asleep. We've analyzed every point of this, and found the exact point to interfere where we have the greatest chance for success. History says that Supergirl fights the first battle with Reign, and yes, she gets injured but she lives. I just don't get why you would interfere now..."

"We've already interfered!" Mon El interrupted, unable to hold back anymore. She looked at him with a shocked look on her face, but stayed silent, so he continued. "Every day we're at the DEO we're interfering. And we've already messed things up. Kara was supposed to get injured, not beaten within an inch of her life. I couldn't let her die."

"She wouldn't have died." Imra retorted. "You know we would have known immediately if anything had changed that much."

He ignored her words, not wanting to admit to himself that they were true. "We already changed things. She was off her game in her fight with Reign because of us."

"You don't know that," Imra stated, starting to sound frustrated with him. "We didn't know how injured she got in the first fight. All we knew was that she survived."

Mon El stayed quiet. Imra was right, but that didn't mean he had to be okay with that.

Imra's eyes softened, and her voice was quieter when she continued. "Why can't you just admit it was a personal decision? That you did it because you were worried about her?"

Mon El was about to say something before he stopped. He wasn't expecting that question. He wondered briefly if she had read his mind. She had a habit of doing it unconsciously, but he shook the thought away, still trying to find an answer to her question.

She smirked a little, trying to lighten the mood a bit. "You know, you're lucky I'm the one that woke up. I've been in your mind. I've seen firsthand how much you care about her, and I understand. If it was Brainiac who woke up, he'd be trying you for treason right now."

Mon El wanted to chuckle, but he felt a sickening feeling sink into the pit of his stomach, because Imra was exactly right. Brainiac had an unparalleled intelligence, but it made him see things as black and white, with no area for gray. As a leader, that was what he should have been doing, but he had let his fear guide his decision instead.

He couldn't admit it was a personal decision. This wasn't the time for him to be thinking with his heart. If he was letting his emotions guide him, then he shouldn't be leading them on this mission.

But Mon El couldn't think of anything worse than sitting back and leaving Kara's fate in someone else's hands.

Instead, Mon El clamped down hard on his thoughts before speaking. "I had to make sure there was a Kara to save in the future. If I hadn't saved her now, the entire mission could have been ruined by her dying early. I intervened because I thought it was right."

The look Imra gave him let him know that she didn't believe him, but she didn't question it. "I'm going to go," she told him instead, and he didn't miss the weariness in her voice. "I'm going to make sure nothing changed too much from this."

He nodded, not trusting himself to speak. He feared that if he spoke, he would spill all the words that he was trying to hold back. He knew that Imra knew how he was feeling anyway, even if he didn't want her to.

Before she turned to walk away, she placed a hand on his shoulder. "We're going to save her, Mon El. I know it. This isn't your burden to bear alone."

Yes it is, he thought before he could stop himself, and he knew that Imra had heard him by the look of pity she gave him. She looked like she was going to say something else, but then thought against it.

Imra started to walk away, but Mon El called out to her before she could. "Hey Imra," he started, and she turned back around, looking a bit surprised. "You could have stopped me back in the medbay, but you didn't. Why not?"

Her face was unreadable, her eyes hardening as she responded. "I may not agree with you, but that doesn't mean I would stop you. I'm not that kind of person."

Mon El couldn't help but think that he had insulted her with his question. As a telepath, many people expected her to be cold-hearted and manipulative, and he knew that she struggled with that perception. However, he knew that she was anything but. If anything, her power made her more empathetic, and her response made perfect sense to him. Despite not agreeing with his choice, and knowing that he could be endangering their objective with it, Imra still wouldn't use her power to forcefully take his free will away. She would only control him if he asked because that was the type of person she was, and even then, it had been a struggle to convince her to control him when he was around Kara.

She turned on her heel and walked away without another word, and even though Mon El knew that he should probably stop her to apologize, he let her go. He thought it would be better to let her have her space first.

And even if he had wanted to, he couldn't bring himself to move. He wanted to stay by Kara's side until she woke up. She needed to wake up.

"Hey, Kara," he muttered. He relished in the feeling of being able to talk to her freely, without all the baggage surrounding them right now. He knew that all of the tension between them was his fault; it was because of all of the lies he was telling in the name of saving her life. Even though he knew he was doing it for the right reasons, he still couldn't stop his stomach from churning with each lie he told.

Her pain. Her heartache. Her sadness. It was all because of him.

"I know you can't hear me," he continued, walking closer and pressing his hand against the glass of the tank. He wished that he was able to grab her hand, to touch her, to look into her eyes, but he couldn't. Instead, he pressed his head against the glass as well, squeezing his eyes shut. "But I need you to wake up. I need you."

He felt tears coming, and he tried his best to hold them back. He took a deep breath, trying to compose himself before continuing.

"And when you wake up, I'm going to be here for you, even though you hate me right now. And I promise, I will do everything I can to protect you. To save you. And, once it's all said and done, if you can find it in your heart to forgive me, I will love you again, with everything that I have."

He felt a tear escape him, silently sliding down his cheek. He wiped it away quickly, cursing himself for not being strong. "So please," he said, his voice hoarse from the tears left unshed and all of the things that he wanted to say but couldn't. "Just wake up."

He sighed, backing away slowly from the stasis tank, fixing his eyes onto her face once again. Imra was right. He wasn't thinking clearly. He couldn't think clearly when it came to Kara.

One good thing had come from his conversation with Imra. He had realized that this wasn't going to work. They wouldn't be able to complete the Legion's mission in their current state, with only him and Imra awake. He was too close to Kara, despite his better judgment. And Imra, she was too good of a person to keep him in line. He needed someone calloused, someone with a one track mind, someone who wouldn't be afraid to keep him in line, even though he was their leader.

He needed to wake another Legion member, and he knew just the one.

alright, let’s get going with this. Today was fine, not particularly exciting, but it was my last day of classes, potentially for the rest of my life, so that’s something at least. I woke up to my alarm at 11:10, ten minutes earlier than usual because I wanted to do my make up and look nice for my last day. Got ready, walked to the train, and took it down to school. Dumped stuff in the PAD office then went up to class. It was all review, so we went over some topics and example questions, and how to best answer them. I’m not particularly worried about this final because it’s in a class I do actually have interest in and paid more attention to than my other classes, plus it’s open book/notes, and I’m just generally good at answering essay questions on tests, I just get going and I’ll just keep writing and writing. And I did really well on the midterm for this class (it was when the prof was like “I graded it out of 8, most everyone got 6′s, but if you said something really brilliant and mind blowing you might have gotten a 7″ and of course when I opened my envelope the assignment was in there was a big 7 on the top, so that was encouraging) so I’m feeling pretty good about this one. After class I went back to the PAD office and decided to focus on Remedies for a bit since I had my last class for that tonight. It’s not in the bar review books, but I was able to get a pretty solid outline from the PAD outline bank, it was from a class with another professor, but honestly it’s just the basic concepts it’s really not gonna differ that much. It was set up in a format so that I could largely copy and paste from it onto my flashcards, so that helped on time. But yeah, I worked on it from like 2:30 to 5, and I got through 14 pages of the outline (out of 24 total) and 156 flashcards done, so that was good. I grabbed a slice of pizza from the little market place that just moved in next to the school because I wasn’t feeling a salad today, lol. Went to Remedies, it was a pretty good class period, we did finish up on some stuff then went to review. There was a really funny moment when the prof was talking about what the test would consist of and he accidentally said “33 essay questions” instead of 33 multiple choice questions” and we pretty much all died of laughter. I also raised my hand at one point, because I mean, I knew the answer so why not, and I probably haven’t raised my hand in that class in like, 6 weeks (it was hard to pay attention during the LOT season because I’d end up glued to twitter for the hour), and the prof like, flipped out and was so happy I raised my hand lol it was sweet, and he was like “you know, I like you” which is always nice to hear. That’s gonna be my one closed book final, which is fine, I think I can get enough of that info in my brain to be able to regurgitate it onto a final. it’s also nice that my final dates are in the same order of my confidence in classes, so my easiest one is first, then the middle, then the hardest, giving me more time to study for them, so that worked out well. We got out around 7:30 (an hour early) and I was home by 8:30. Decided I’d watch Supergirl, and I don’t think it was too bad really, the Kara/Mon-El stuff was mostly cringey (but what else is new) though at least she got to tell him off at one point, that was immensely satisfying to hear that she does at least know just how much of an asshole he had been. All the J’onn/Myr’nn (they keep changing the location of the hyphen in his name, from like M’yrnn to My’rnn to Myr’nn and its quite annoying) was sad of course, so that was kinda rough to watch. The Sam and Lena stuff I thought was pretty good though, there’s definitely something distinctly Luthor about keeping someone in a secret medical facility until you can find out what’s going on with them, and I mean I’m sure Lena did it with the best of intentions, but it’s something that I can totally see Lex doing too, maybe under different circumstances but still. Seeing Lena push Sam until she broke was hard, as was Sam’s meltdown afterwards, all of which was sooooo reminiscent of season 8 of Smallville with the Davis/Doomsday situation, with Lena now being in the place of Chloe trying to stop this from happening, even though it’s probably out of their control. Listening to Sam call Ruby and have to tell her she can’t visit her was rough though, honestly I’m at the point where Sam and Ruby are the only characters I even care about (I mean, maybe Lena sometimes, mostly because she can give me Tess Mercer vibes and I love Tess oh so much) because they’ve made most of the other characters either just not having a plot or making them super obnoxious. I still love Winn, but he really hasn’t had much to do this season. but yeah, overall not bad, so I’ll take it. After I finished that The Resident had finished recording, so I moved over to that. Man, what an episode. The pacing was very good, intermingling the hospital drama with the patient anecdotes with Dev in the ER. Things are obviously escalating very quickly in terms of going from “this doctor is giving too much chemo to patients” to “this doctor straight up murdered her patient to keep her quiet” quite quickly, but I mean that’s basically what happened so I guess we’ll have to deal with that now, though idk how they’re gonna go forward from here with Nic out of her job and Bell now the CEO. I found the fire storyline slightly amusing because afterwards they were like “what happened?” “the patient caught fire” like that’s something that happens all the time 😂 this show continues to make me extremely nervous about going into surgery for anything ever; when I was in the ER over spring break they were like “oh this surgeon is great, he has a lot of experience and is well regarded” and he walked in and had gray hair and I was like FUCK I’M GOING TO DIE 😂😂 but thankfully I was able to avoid getting cut open so I lived to see another day 😂. After the episode I watched the news for a few while I finished up a few things (mainly finishing scrolling through the tumblrs I check every day) then started getting ready for bed, and now I’m here. DV clinic tomorrow for my last shift for the time being, depending on what I end up doing over the next few months I might be able to pick up some shifts over the summer, but I know I do need to focus on bar prep, with the rule of thumb being 8 hours of studying a day for 6 weeks (literally a full time job) if you want to pass. So we’ll see how that plays out. and yeah, not a bad day. Hopefully tomorrow will be good, and then I’ll probably be in finals study mood for the next few weeks, when my finals start on May 2nd and go to May 9th, then I’ll be graduating on the 13th. It’s so close, but it feels so far away right now because it’s on the other side of 3 massive tests I have to pass to get there. It is so close though, and soon enough it will be here, just gotta get through these last few hurdles. Alright, I’m done talking for the night (on this blog at least, I’ll probably make a post on my personal after this). Goodnight dearies. Love you lots.

I do have a bit of an ick that the writers didn't build them up properly imo. James spent all of season two and even part of season three with suspicion targeted at Lena because she’s a Luthor. Even when Lena proves herself to be good time and time again James continues to doubt her and remain skeptical. I was sort of irked, but also understanding of his point of view because it can be difficult to disentangle a family's horrific genocidal and bigoted legacy from the one potentially decent egg, one who very often struggles with her own darkness. I guess that’s what fanfiction is for hehe.

I also feel like this is the writers’ ways of giving James more screen time like the fandom demanded because he was shirked off in season two (I wasn’t too fond of him in that season, but in this one I love him almost as much as I did in the first season). I hope the writers also flesh out his friendship with Winn bc they’re not doing it so far. I would’ve loved to see him and Winn strengthen their bond. I wanted James to confess to Winn his insecurities about being thrust into a humongous leadership position so suddenly and maintaining a heroic alter-ego. Hell, now that Mon-El is back all new and improved I really wanted him, James, and Winn to be a trio. And with Guardiancorp the writers could’ve done a lot better forming a platonic relationship between Lena and James and developing from there. They could have fleshed out their disdain and lightened it with each encounter. Lena shows James the ropes with being a CEO and James teaches Lena about the media and fashion empire, and they strengthen their bond. Idk, but it was LAZY as hell and they have such cute potential to me! :)

Hi, I'm kinda new to the supergirl fandom at least on tumblr. I started watching the show on Netflix. I know your blog is all about positivity but why is there so much Mon-El hate? I understand things he has done have hurt others but he has changed and recognized that the way he was raised was not something to be proud of and he openly denounced that way of thinking. At the same time, he was on Earth for the shortest time of any main character, like a few months. Maybe it's b/c I'm not caught up

Hi, welcome to the online Supergirl fandom (also known as hell…) I think one of the reasons people dislike him is because they don’t actually pay attention and just go along with what people they follow say about him. I get that at first his character was a ‘frat boy’ but that was kinda the point, he was supposed to grow. Him growing and his relationship with Kara was his season arc. And he did change and he still isn’t finished yet. I think a lot of people disliked him before he ever got a chance to prove himself and now they’ll never change their mind, which is ridiculous in my opinion. 

I can remember people disliking him before him and kara’s relationship became romantic but once it was canon people went from dislike to hating. And that was when everyone started saying he’s abusive and their relationship is toxic. I think it’s just what fandom’s like to say about ships they don’t like now. If they don’t like a ship or their ship is not canon and it’s in the way they have to prove that it’s ‘abusive’ or ‘toxic’. 

So basically, shipping is a big part of it, people are just angry superc0rp isn’t canon and are lashing out in a horrible way. Another reason is because people like to blindly follow others who have a strong fandom presence. I can remember people hating Winn in season 1 as well because he had feelings for Kara, all I heard about him was how much people hated him but they stopped when it stopped being a thing.

Also, when Mon-el came on the show he got a lot of screen time over other characters, which I think is fair enough if you want more screen time for Alex or J’onn but mon-el is the main character’s love interest of course he’s gonna get more screentime over James, Winn, Lena, etc. I hope this answered your question properly, I don’t know if I said everything right but basically I think the two big reasons are people copying what other people say to fit in and shipping

Just read the Harry Potter Escape Room. I just bet Lucy would have killed to see her friends have to get escape via teamwork. But also I'm like does the East Coast Branch do the same thing on Day 1? I can picture Vasquez sitting in a chair, boots on the table, calmly saying "Day 1 we got thrown into a Volcano." Here I was casually working a chapter about Alex and Maggie’s year traveling before becoming aurors (mainly bc oh my god if I could be any profession in the Harry Potter world it would 100% be a wandmaker, so I kind of want to write about Maggie’s years as an apprentice just to live in that magical headspace for a bit), but now I’ve got all these delightful images of Lucy reigning over at the other branch. 

Yess!! I’ve actually brainstormed a B99/Supergirl crossover a bit thanks to a casual ask from @i-am-delta-s that I totally dorked out about, so if you want some long, rambling thoughts that may well turn into a one-shot one of these days… 

I think Kara would get along so well with Amy, even though every so often Kara’s decisions to flout rules (like the Danvers.com blog) would stress her out like crazy! 

I think Kara and Alex would both be dying to go head-to-head with Terry in the training room to show what they’ve got. 

And I think Amy would totally want J'onn’s stamp of approval just as much as she wants Holt’s. 

Winn would want to be the Jake of the friend group even though he’s more the Boyle and James is more the Jake, but the four of them would totally bro out together. 

But when Charles wants to dork out about food, he’d find Kara and Lena (Kara to eat anything bad for you and Lena to join him on his more…adventurous foodie outings). 

I think Maggie would think Rosa was super hot but would probably hang out most with Gina (who would also totally both love and love to hate Cat Grant and vice versa, though Cat would never acknowledge the enjoyment of the banter until years later/it’d be more of a Lois vibe of taking glee in verbal sparring). But Maggie and Gina would totally sit and gossip (with Lucy too if she came by) and everyone would act sort of shocked that Maggie likes gossip, but hello! Lesbian culture involves knowing just whose ex you’re currently dating and figuring out who the lgbtq+ folks are entails a lot of talking to people. 

Vasquez would hang out with Alex and Rosa, who don’t quite trust or like each other but respect the similar aesthetic and cold demeanor. They’d probably spar, and Vasquez might faint from the excitement of it all. 

And I think J'onn and Holt would, for the most part, get along quite well and respect each other a great deal. Holt would call Mon-El a punk, and make everything right in the world. I think he’d think Alex (and Kara really) is more like Jake than Rosa, though, because of how often she breaks the rules (even if she’s strictly abiding to her own personal moral code and even though she generally achieves good results that way), and Holt would be so here for Vasquez for being a model employee.

 While I don’t really see Caitlin and Barry as a romantic pairing, both of them did work quite well with Julian and in a world where Barry couldn’t save Iris, I actually could see him ending up with those two instead. I always wanted to write a fic about that but never came around to, but this threesome exists in my Arrowmultiverse – read „Multiversity“.

 I discovered this one for me during „Crisis on Infinite Earths“ and was like … why is this ship not more prominent, I mean after all there where some hints of it before. In any way their chemistry is great and it’s a shame that pretty much everyone has given up or fled the Supergirl-Fandom at this point so no one is going to write anything about them any time soon. But maybe someone will once try a Crisis-AU where they will be found.

 22.  Karry (Kara Danvers/Barry Allen)

 I actually prefer them as besties, because they each have an actual True Love in their own universe, but like anyone else, I love them together. They are probably to simelar to work as a couple on the long run, but as female partners for Barry go, Kara is definitfly up there at the top.

 I discovered this while working on a Sebastian Blood Oneshot. I reread „Vengance“ and worked their relationship out and remembered how much I always regretted losing Sebastian at this point of his storyline, because those two had a connection. A better one than Laurel and Sebastian actually, and in many ways Oliver was more of an actual Love Interest for Sebastian than Laurel. Not that Ollie would ever go for this, but Sebastian might have. Who knows?

 20.  Tauriver (Tommy Merlyn/Laurel Lance/Oliver Queen)

 Hinted at: Arrow Season 1

 Back in Season 1 I shipped this, because I don’t really believe in love triangles between three people that geniunily love each other. So this would have been the obvious solution. If Oliver and Tommy would just haved shared Laurel or touched it other as well, well, that would have been up to them. I think that given it’s Tommy, Oliver might have actually gone full in for this.

 19.  Timekid (Wally West/Rip Hunter)

 Hinted at: Legends of Tomororw Season 3

 After I saw Rip and Wally do karaoke and get wasted together I was expecting a load of fics, but somehow this pairings seems to have eluded almost everyone. Maybe because no one really cares about Wally? Or because Rip was in bad standing in the middle of that Season? I don’t know, but for me this was a non-brainer.

 18.  Saramaya (Sara Lance/Amaya Jiwe)

 Hinted at: Legends of Tomorrow Season 2-3

 I really don’t know why everyone is going on about Kendra and Sara, when they could be going on about this ship were there is actual tension and actual chemistry there. And Doomworld. Don’t forget Doomworld. Where those two totally did it, you can’t change my mind about that.

 17.  Toliver (Tommy Merlyn/Oliver Queen)

 Hinted at: Arrow Season 1-8

 This ship kept coming and going in my mind, because aren’t Oliver and Tommy more like brothers and than like lovers? In the end I saw the potential for a romantic love between them and stettled on it as something that could have been very interesting if done right. I dabbled a little bit with TommyX in that pairing, but why not real Tommy as well?

 16.  Monwinn (Mon-El/Winn Schott)

 Hinted at: Supergirl Season 2-3, It’s a Super Life

 To bad Winn came back married to someone that isn’t Mon-El, because this is what should have happened, you know? Of course Kara is Mon-Els One True Love, but he and Winn were always great together, and given Winn is open minded and Daxamites are not hetero normative this was what we would have wanted after losing both of them in the same episode of the show.

 15.  Kanvers (Kate Kane/Kara Danvers)

 Hinted at: Elseworlds, Crisis on Infinite Earths, The one and only Season of Batwoman

 I figured out why certain hate groups afflilated with „Supergirl“ hate Kate so much (It took me quite some time to rap my head around this), it’s because Kate is Karas only canonical female love interest and those people just can’t stand that thought. Now sady as gone for good as Batmoore Kanvers was what I would have originally wanted for Kara after it became clear that Mon-El was not coming back to the show. I mean I love Kate, and Kara did flirt back, so why the hell not?

 14.  Irivarry (Iris West/Oliver Queen/Barry Allen)

 Hinted at: The Flash Season 1, Invasion, Crisis on Earth-X, Elseworlds

 While I stumbled over quite a few fics that include Oliver, Felicity, and Barry, I never really found this one, even though it’s much more obvious to me. After all this was set up way back in the first season of „The Flash“ and especially in Season 5 and a certain part of Season 7 of „Arrow“ I felt that it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch for Oliver to visit our favourite Canon-Pairing in Central City and crash on their couch indefinitly which would lead too many interesting things among them this threesome. And yes, again a fic I never got around to write.

 13.  Atomsteelwavevixen (Ray Palmer/Nate Heywood/Mick Rory/Amaya Jiwe)

 Hinted at: Legends of Tomorrow Season 2-3

 I prefere Steelatom and Vixenwave as bros, but as a foursome those four rock the libido and the Waverider. Given how much I do ship Atomwave and Vixensteel and that I also do ship Steelwave und Atomvixen that shouldn’t be a surprise, and you should know by now, that I do believe more partners make (fictional) relationships easier instead of more complicated.

 12. Captains3 (Sara Lance/Rip Hunter/Leonard Snart)

 Hinted at: Legends of Tomorrow Season 1

 Given that Sara and Rip, Sara and Leonard, and Leonard and Rip would not last together, my solution to this would be to get together as a threesome. Which was after all my endgame in my biggest Fanfiction-Verse and turned out to be a smashing idea.

 Fanboy Eobard might have come to hate Barry, but a part of him never stopped loving the scarlet speedster as we all know. What kind of love that was may have varied, but this kind was probably among it, and I think that if he would prove to Barry that he could change Barry would always give him a chance, because that’s after all who Barry is.

 10.  GreenAtom (Oliver Queen/Ray Palmer)

 Hinted at: Arrow Season 3-4, Legends of Tomorrow Season 1, Crisis on Infinite Earths

 A very underapprecaited ship that I love dearly. Ray und Oliver together have so much potential. I dabbled a little bit with that, but only few other ever did. Ray would basically be a better version of Felicity, having all what the fans love about their dynamic, but none of the issues that come with her. Also Oliver would date another hero, which is always a plus.

 9.      Elongflash (Ralph Dibny/Barry Allen)

 Hinted at: The Flash Season 4-6

 I frankly never understood why people did not ship them more and there are so little fanfics about those two, I mean it’s a classic love story really. Attraction first, misunderstanding leading to years of silence, meeting again and talking it out, becoming friend and eventually more. I did dabble with it a bit and wish others would have taken to that ship around Season 4 already and not only in the last couple of years.

 8.      Allenbert (Barry Allen/Julian Albert)

 Hinted at: The Flash Season 3

 For a long time I thought that that would be the reveal about Julians problem with Barry. Appearantly so did the actors. Or at least they wished it were. Their hate-love was so enjoyable and fans had their fun with this at least but could have had more fun still. Tom mentoned that was ready to come back to the show sometime back, and while I have little hope for that I still want it to happen so that we can get more interaction between them on screen.

 7.      Winniac-5 (Winn Schott/Brainiac-5)

 Hinted at: Supergirl Season 3 and Season 5

 I am one out of two persons in the world who ships this, but I ship it hard. I wanted Winn to have love, but after it became clear that the actress who played his Season 2 love interest wasn’t coming back, it probably had also become clear that Jeremy did plan on leaving the show, so the writers didn’t bother anymore, but Brainy crashed so beautifully with him so I picked him for that role. And even though I love Nia and Brainia I love Winniac-5 more.

 6.      Olivarry (Oliver Queen/Barry Allen)

 Hinted at: Arrow Season 2-3, The Flash Season 1, Legends of Yesterday/Today, Invasion, Crisis on Earth-X, Elseworlds, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Arrow Season 7-8

 As unlucky as Olivers love life is, maybe that’s the case because the actual love of his life happens to be a man, which he is not willing to admit to himself of course. I mean we all remember the joke about Barry wanting to date Oliver and agree on that probably being true, but Oliver cleary is kind of in love with Barry too. He has been very different with him than most if not all other males in his life so there definitifly is something going on there.

 5.      Coldflash (Leonard Snart/Barry Allen)

 Hinted at: The Flash Season 1-3, Legends of Tomorrow Season 1-2, Invasion

 Leonard flirts with everything that moves, but Barry has a special place in his heart and we all love that. Leonard ist a player however, and makes sure everyone knows that, but if there is one person out there who he would be willing to change for it would probably be Barry. If only they weren’t mortal frenemies and Leonard wasn’t – you know – dead.

 4.      Thallen (Eddie Thawne/Barry Allen)

 Hinted at: The Flash Season 1-3

 Barry und Eddie were crushing hard on each other, there is no denying that. They even had a moment onscreen where the tension between them was aknowleged (remember the sofa-scene?). I saw a pretty accurate joke about the Season 1 love triangle once which stated that Iris felt guilty about having feelings for Barry while dating Eddie, while Eddie at the same time was doodeling Eddie Allen in his notebook and that really nails it, doesn’t it?

 3.      Timecanary (Rip Hunter/Sara Lance)

 Hinted at: Legends of Tomororw Season 1-3

 Sara has many admirers onscreen and out of all her many suitors Rip is the one I would want to see her ending up with. If he wasn’t dead, that is. Rip kind of had a thing for her from day one on and during Season 2 she seemed to realize that she had feelings for him too, but sadly Season 3 ripped them apart (pardon the pun) in every possible way. But there is still fanfic. I just wish there were more of it with them as the main couple.

 2.      Atomwave (Ray Palmer/Mick Rory)

 Hinted at: Legends of Tomorrow Season 1-5, Crisis on Infinite Earths

 This is my Legends-OTP and I am still not over the fact that Ray is out of the show and so is this ship! When Iris und Barry got together on „The Flash“ even my brother was like: „Wait a moment … Barry und Iris are a couple, that means Mick still has a shot to get Ray next season!“ So yeah, no one could deny that their relationship was very prominent in the first two seasons. Sadly it faded in the backround when Ray met Nora Darhk, but in my opinion this would have been the much healthier endgame for him, which is why you find traces of this ship in pretty much all of my Arrowverse Fanfics.

  1.      Westhallen (Iris West/Eddie Thawne/Barry Allen)

 Hinted at: The Flash Season 1-3

 This is how you solve a love triangle, that does not need to be one, when all three parties have certain feelings for all the other members of the triangle: Just get them all together. I mean I love Westhawne, I love Thallen, and I love Westallen, but most of all I love Westhallen. Too bad poly is still a taboo in TV, and don’t get me started on the sin of killing of Eddie and never ever bringing him back not even an alternate version of him or something like that, but yeah in my heart those three were happy with each other and when Eddie died both Iris und Barry lost the man they loved. (And sometimes they got him back and other times they never lost him at all).

I was torn, because it works slightly better with Kara as Penny, but I also wanted Clark as Captain Hammer for a while, but he’s not a /dick/, so…But Mon-El is perfect, that’s locked in now. Then I thought Winn as Penny, but he’s far more likely to be part of the Evil League of Evil, same for Lena. But I think this works for the story, as well as the “Brainy is evil, and still in love with Clark” thing. Also in this AU I guess Clark doesn’t have powers? Anyway.)

He’d always believed humanity was stupid. They all were- the world was filthy, and denying it was the greatest lie of all. His mission was to fix it, as much as his enemy (Mon-Ew, he liked calling him) ignored that.

But him…

He almost made him want to reconsider everything, all his goals, what he’d worked for to not be seen as a failure anymore.

It scared him, how all-encompassing Clark’s love was. That he could love him, and he wouldn’t be able to offer anything in return.

Clark showed him the light, and all Brainiac-5 gave him was darkness.

23. Alex x reader 

“Y/N! Oh thank God you’re here!” Alex took your hand and led you into HQ.

“What’s the emergency, Al?” You see Winn, J’onn, James, and Mon-El, deep in discussion, and start to get worried. 

“Supergirl’s missing.” Tears pooled at the bottom of Alex’s eyes and your heart broke. “Winn picked up a trace of Kryptonite and she went out to look for it.” 

“Can’t we just ask Winn for the location?” You asked, trying to stay calm for Alex’s sake, though you were just as nervous as she was. 

Alex shook her head, defeated. “Winn didn’t pinpoint the exact location. He just had a relative area. God, I told her not to go yet…” 

“Hey, we’ll find her, ok? With everyone looking, she’ll be back at the DEO in no time.” 

“I need a hug right about now…” Alex said in a small voice, tears streaming down her cheek.

You step forward, taking her into your arms and kissing the top of her head. “Let’s get to work, babe.” You pulled away, following Alex to where everyone else was. 

You all searched and searched, even tried her tracker a few times, but you didn’t find anything. Luckily, after all of you were frustrated beyond words, you got a ping from Kara’s tracker, revealing her exact location. 

“Y/N and I will take the jet, we’ll be back soon.”

You and Alex arrived at an abandoned warehouse. She walked in front of you, her gun pointed in front of her. There was no sign of Kara, but there was a huge box of Kryptonite, which meant you were probably close. 

“J’onn, we’re gonna need a backup to take this Kryptonite back to the DEO,” Alex said into her earpiece. 

You kept walking, but there was still no sign of Kara. Soon enough, you’d looked through the entire building and you still hadn’t found Kara. 

“What do we do, Y/N?” Alex whispered. “We can’t leave without her.” 

“Let’s just wait for backup. The more people we have to help us look, the better chance we have of finding her.” 

“Agent Danvers,” J’onn called.

“Oh good, they’re here.” You whispered to Alex, walking over to J’onn. 

“We moved the Kryptonite.” He nodded, walking closer to where the box was. “And we found Kara behind it. She must’ve passed out from all the Kryptonite when she tried to pick it up.”

“Kara!” Alex dropped to the floor and held her sister in her arms until they put her on a stretcher. 

“We’re gonna take her back to the DEO. Make sure Alex is alright, ok?” J’onn whispered. 

“Of course,” You nodded, taking Alex’s hand and walking back to the jet.

“Thank you.” Alex said as you two sat by Kara’s bed. She still hadn’t woken up yet.

“For what?” You lay your head on Alex’s shoulder. 

“Sticking with me today. Anyone else would’ve left as soon as my crazy panic mode kicked in.” She chuckles. 

“I’m your girlfriend Alex, I’m by your side, even when your crazy comes out.” You laugh, leaning up to kiss her cheek.

Kara slowly woke up with the warmth of the yellow sun shining vibrantly through the windows of her apartment. She felt all warm and content under the comforter and the body heat of her boyfriend spooning behind her. She can literally feel his breaths on her neck. She’s become grateful for getting to wake up like this because just a year ago, she never thought she’d get this again. It was just a fleeting memory. A dream. One that surprising to her, has become a vibrant reality again. She rarely gets moments like because of her hectic life as a reporter for Catco and Supergirl. Usually she’s already out saving the world before the sun rises or James needs her at the office. So, she’s more than content to cuddle down into the mattress and Mon-El’s strong arms and body heat and go right back to sleep, as the world doesn’t seem to need her at the moment. Her movement must have stirred him awake because he tightened his embrace on her and kisses her lightly on the side of her neck. She sighs and says, “I’m sorry I woke you.” With sleep still clouding his voice, Mon-El says, “It’s ok. This is the best way to wake up. My girl in my arms and no one needing us to save the world.” He kisses her shoulder which is bare from the fact that she decided to sleep in one of Mon-El’s plaid shirts last night, and they are at least three times too big for her. “I love it when you wear my clothes.” He says. “I know. It’s why I do it.” She replies. He sighs and pulls Kara closer to him and puts his mouth next to her ear. He kisses her temple and says, “Thank you, Kara. For taking me back. You really do have the most forgiving heart I’ve ever seen.” She reaches behind her and places her hand on his cheek. “After I realized what you did for me I couldn’t ignore it any longer. I just couldn’t deny you anymore. Yes, the lies hurt, but once you explained everything, I was just floored at the fact that you love me enough to start a whole organization to honor and preserve my legacy and your love for me, with every intention of finding your way back to stop me from dying. You really didn’t intend the result that happened, did you?”

Mon-El sighs, “No, but I am glad it did. The plan blew up in my face. Not even Imra could stop my love for you from showing and I couldn’t stop myself. I fought for seven years to get a plan together to get back to you and save you. The plan that was in place was scrapped the moment I saw you almost die. Knowing and seeing are different things, and I really just snapped. I knew then I had to do whatever it would take to save you, but also wanted you to know how much I still love you. How much I will always love you. That never changed. My love for you just grew, and I fought everyone to let me just get back to you. So, I could prove it to you. You are the only woman I have ever loved, Kara. The only woman I ever will love. I don’t deserve you. I never have, but I am grateful and thank Rao every day that such an amazing, kind woman has it in her heart to love me. Even after all this time, I’m not perfect. I want to be for you, though. The perfect boyfriend, partner, and hero by your side. The one you desperately need and deserve.” Kara turns in Mon-El’s arms and looks at him. Tears begin welling up in her eyes. Happy ones. “I don’t need perfect, Mon-El. I just need you. Just so you know, you’re a pretty amazing boyfriend and partner. And a damn good hero. Never question that. You impress me every day. You’ve more than earned your cape, Valor.” Mon-El takes his left hand and wipes the tears off her cheek. “Hey, what are the tears for?” He asks her. “I’m so happy. Hearing you say that you want to try to be perfect for me. Hearing how you fought to get back to me. To save me. How scared you were. That your love for me only grew through the years. I’m just overwhelmed. I love you, Mon-El. You are the man of my dreams. I’m never letting you go again. At that time, the decision I made was one of the hardest in my life. I told Alex before you came back that I would do it again. Send you away like I did. However, if I had known then, what I know now, I probably would’ve sent you to spend time with Barry until we could’ve found a cure.” “You mean, you’d deny me founding the Legion?” Mon-El asks her in a shocked voice. Kara sighs and laughs. “If it means I don’t have to live with a shattered heart for almost a year, then yes. I know it sounds selfish, but I was miserable for a long time. All I wanted was to be in your arms again. To actually feel the touch of someone. I feel Alex, Winn, J’onn, and James when they hug me, but when you hug me, it’s different. I’m guessing due to your super strength, I feel more than just a little brush, but a full hug. I missed that. I missed getting to touch someone and not be able to hurt them. I missed you. We have this connection that I can’t even begin explain.” “Because we’re both aliens, Kara. Not only aliens, but aliens of sister worlds. Even shared some of the same religion. I get it. Believe me, it’s nice to be able to confide in someone about that again. Both our home worlds were beyond messed up, but I do promise that when you need to talk, I’m here. Ok?” Mon-El says. Kara smiles at him. “You are an amazing man. Can I say that I’m jealous I didn’t get to witness most of this development?” Mon-El laughs. “Yes, but you always inspired me. I held onto that and my love for you and fought to teach others the legacy of the woman of my dreams, and to get their help in saving you from that monster.” Kara just smiles and cuddles into Mon-El’s chest and eases back into sleep. With the rays of the yellow sun, that give both her and Mon-El their amazing powers, shining through the apartment she soaks in their warmth and the heat from Mon-El. “Yeah, right here is the only place I want to be right now.” She thinks to herself with a little sigh as she drifts back off to sleep.
