Okay, theory time, so grab your tinfoil hats, folks.

My theory as to why Ahsoka and Sabine had their falling out is because of the Mandalorian Purge. And here are my reasons:

"I go where I'm needed." "Not always." Those 2 simple words spoken by Sabine were dripping with unresolved hurt. She's still carrying around a personal grudge toward Ahsoka for abandoning her in what was likely her (and her people's) greatest time of need. My theory is that Sabine begged Ahsoka to help and Ahsoka refused, presumably because she knew there was nothing they could do.

She's no longer wearing her armor when we first see her. Initially, we all assumed it was because the war was over and she didn't need it anymore (and she was mourning Ezra). But I don't think that's it. Sabine is a Mandalorian through and through--she was damn proud of that armor, which had been handed down through her family for generations. For her to take it off and essentially shun her heritage, speaks volumes. I think the fact that she was able to help save Lothal but not Mandalore (and her family) damn near destroyed her. She took the armor off and shirked her identity as a Mandalorian as a way of mourning the genocide of her people. The scene where she lays it out, piece by piece, has an almost reverent, mournful tint to it. Like it's this great weight she's once again picking up and choosing to shoulder. I wouldn't put it past her to think that she's the only one left, and that it's now her responsibility to carry on the traditions. Ahsoka and Sabine weren't ready to truly become Master and Apprentice during the Rebellion. But now they carry around a shared hurt--both have seen their people slaughtered to almost extinction. And I think at some point, they're going to confront this shared reality and it'll be the thing that really binds them together.

So while rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender recently, I noticed a trend

A number of spirits we see have an animal form, specifically animals we recognize as "normal" for us. For example:

- Wan Shi Tong is an owl and his knowledge seekers are foxes

- Tui and La are koi fish

- Hei Bai is a panda

-The guardian of the mother of faces is a wolf (The Search)

Heck there's even the talking Baboon spirit and the monkey missing its face that we see in the Spirit World at the end of Season 1.

Basically every time we've seen a "normal" animal, they've been a spirit.

My point? I argue that Bosco is a spirit bear that's chilling and living the good life in the mortal world just because he can.

The thing is, from a Doylist perspective, I know how this happened.

In the comic, the Corinthian is much more of an overt villain. He's kinda just meant to be a gross creepy serial killer who murders his lovers and tortures Jed just as much as the abusive family that Corinthian kidnaps (and subesequently murders) him do.

The TV show, however, softened the Corinthian. They made him much more overtly gay to the point where he actually has some relationships with male lovers that don't end in murder. He's nice to children, specifically Jed. He has these glimmers of empathy and Boyd Holbrook brings a scintillating charm to him that even Sturridge couldn't stop gushing about.

But those changes take Corinthian from Dream's ultimate spooky nightmare that he made, of the privileged white man murdering without consequence, the serial killer lurking in plain sight to prey upon the vulnerable, and gave him a personality other than the horror he inflicts. They made him less suave in a creepy way and more suave in just a plain-ol' suave way.

So now when Dream canonically talks about how disappointed he is the Corinthian for becoming an actual murderer instead of just a nightmare, and how he was created as an expression of darkness meant to tease out lessons for humanity to learn, it gets... weirdly personal and specific about Dream and the Corinthian really fast.

The Corinthian is suddenly not a generic fear for humanity any more, because he's not a generic serial killer nightmare anymore. He's complex. He denounces Dream specifically for not daring to feel things. He diagnoses Dream as unsaveable for this reason to Lucienne. He has good qualities mixed in with the bad ones. He's fun (unlike Dream), happy (unlike Dream), charming (unlike Dream), outgoing (unlike Dream), blond and using a cream color palette for his outfits (in mirror opposite of Dream). He's very, very gay unlike Dream who canonically has only officially, and disastrously, dated women.

It's all stuff that kinda makes you go Hmmmm?

Like, Dream, you keep going on about how your greatest creation here is the perfect mirror to humanity, exposing all these really personal, unknowable truths that humankind just doesn't want to look at. Ideas that are just too horrible to contemplate. But all the rest of us are seeing is a really charming gay guy who is the opposite of you in every way but also seems to be much happier than you and content with his life and expressing all these ideas that you seem to see as forbidden, like enjoying the mortal world which is overtly stated as something you disapprove of but maybe secretly long for, and things unstated like for some reason you being 14 billion years old and technically without gender but always presenting as heterosexual in a very weirdly rigidly limited way. Almost like these are all things you wish you could be but feel you cannot, so you poured all of those instincts into a dark mirror for yourself and then got mad when your rigid repression of those instincts led to an explosion of aggression and violence.

Almost like this is Dream's Mary Sue.

And for some goddamned inexplicable reason (which in the comics is just because the Southern accent evokes a certain kind of killer but in the show becomes a much more unique personality detail to this otherwise cool serial killer guy who sometimes looks out for the innocent) Dream gave his Mary Sue a Southern accent.

Which kinda heavily implies that there is something uniquely, forbiddingly sexy that Dream finds about a Southern accent and the reason he has to be super secretive about it beyond giving that accent to his Mary Sue for all to see, is because his immediate friends and family would probably mock him mercilessly for it.

We as a fandom need to talk about the fact that Dream of the Endless made his very own dark mirror Mary Sue who got to be all the things Dream isn't allowed to be, like suave, and gay, and out of the closet, and inexplicably Southern, in the light of this very important implication:

i don't think brian from mindhunter would've ended up being a serial killer, i think that storyline would've been kind of commentary on labelling theory and the potential dangers of profiling, if that makes sense. like he's a young child who's been through some severe trauma but because he acts differently (i think he has autism or some other developmental or attachment disorder) people treat him differently and basically start to profile him as a future serial killer. maybe bill starts to treat him differently or the police suspect him or he has trouble making friends and it just makes his issues even worse. durkheim, baby!

Matt, Fisk not blipped.

Good sign towards one theory that Foggy + Karen were blipped to angst Matt up, which is why they weren't called for the original script before they tossed that out to rewrite it, because there were signs that it was going to have a lot of it DURING the blip. Rewrites not withstanding, Foggy and Karen might still have been blipped even if they come back. At the very least, I'm assuming they blipped.

Matt: new red suit again, which means he did NOT keep the black suit post S3. Which is good, we don't need another Nobu fight.

FISK was out and about post blip. And if DD is canon, we know Matt had his dirt on Vanessa to keep Fisk in prison by his choice. If Vanessa was blipped (@wonderlandmind4 pointed out no wedding ring on Fisk - divorce when they came back? Something happened when she blipped back? Wasn't blipped but killed during the chaos of the blip?), it would explain why Fisk was out since Matt would have nothing to hold over him.

Fisk confirming with Maya that none of his people have every stood up against Matt, so Matt's been at least partially successful at hampering Fisk. However, Fisk's power clearly indicates Matt's fighting a losing battle, much like before. I'm thinking this will lead to him getting help (return of JJ? Frank? Spidey appearance?).

In other words I have theories based on like 90 seconds but that's what I've got and I may or may not already be examining my Blip Side Fic outline and making adjustments.

Here I am.. going about this story again,

it's about time I shut up about this... ;v; UGH, just jotting my thoughts out like a diary though.

Was Aqua's revenge justified? I don't think so. I feel like he targeted the wrong person from the very beginning.

I was out for a walk, thinking about this, and personally, the thing that bothers me the most in this manga is that Aqua's purpose itself feels flawed.

Kamiki might have become someone deserving of punishment, but I don't think he's the one who hurt Ai. I'm pretty sure he truly loved her and never tried to harm her. This has been bugging me for a long time, and considering how it was never confirmed by the story, I think I'm right.

From the very beginning, Aqua's goal—to avenge Ai by finding and punishing her killer—was fundamentally flawed. And when it comes to her death, I believe Kamiki was a victim, too.

It's true that Kamiki may have gone mad and become dangerous by this point in the story, and perhaps he does need to be stopped. But looking at how his character was portrayed, I just can't accept the idea that he orchestrated Ai's murder. If the writers had intended for that to be the case, they wouldn't have written his character the way they did.

So, Aqua's goal—the one he's been pursuing for the entire story—was based on a mistaken premise. Then what is this manga really about? The way they brushed past this issue toward the end felt so rushed, and I think this is why.

Was Aqua's belief that Kamiki was Ai's enemy and deserving of death justified? Even if Kamiki were to be punished, it should be for something he actually did. But Aqua's pursuit of him as Ai's killer, only to find out he wasn't, completely undermines the emotional arc that had been built up until then. Isn't that misplaced anger? How can that be justified?

Maybe Kamiki intended to harm Ruby, but... if so, Aqua just got lucky. If Kamiki had never targeted Ruby, Aqua's actions would have amounted to nothing but pursuing the wrong person all along.

The imagery I get from "Fatal" (or the themes it brings up) is similar to this.

Imagine a pair of birds. Someone twists the neck of the female bird and throws her lifeless body in front of the male. The male bird is left wailing, unable to accept her death, and keeps searching for her, crying out, "Where are you? Where are you?" That's the kind of feeling that song and Kamiki evokes for me.

It's such a horrifying situation.

But is it right for me to feel this way about this character?

Still, this emotion comes through so strongly.

Kamiki is... in such a terrible state. The fact that he's even alive feels miraculous considering the overwhelming pain and sorrow he's enduring. I can feel this coming from him. That's painful.

The way I see it, this reaction—his unbearable sadness—could only come from genuinely loving someone deeply. It's the kind of grief you'd expect from someone who's lost the only partner they ever had. And looking back, that really seems to be the case. For Kamiki, Ai was everything.

Watching his character, I can't help but feel that he's in immense pain. But why write him this way? These emotions—this kind of anguish and longing—don't fit someone who wanted to control or hurt Ai. It feels far more sincere, like he truly loved her. It’s so vivid and intense that it’s unsettling. That's why I kept drawing fan art of the couple, nervously, but with some sort of conviction, trying to make sense of it.

I've never been wrong about these kinds of hunches before. I even thought what the guy said in 154 was a lie. If I had believed otherwise, I wouldn’t have drawn him and Ai as a couple. I genuinely think he only sent flowers, and when I saw that scene, I believed he was lying out of self-loathing and to relieve Aqua's guilt.

And later, Kamiki brings up with a different testimony of what actually happened in 160. I'm pretty sure that's what actually happened. The circumstances matched exactly what I had anticipated. Following through his emotions, I believe that was the actual truth. If what he says there's a lie, then I say it was poor writing. What he says there makes the most sense.

When Aqua said Kamiki's claim of "never wanting to hurt anyone" was a lie, that felt like it was only true in the present context—after everything Kamiki had done to try to reunite with Ai. But in his younger days, I genuinely think he didn’t want to hurt anyone.

There's no reason for it to be written this way, and yet it is. The fact that they make this ambiguous is so frustrating for me!!

I just can’t agree with this ending. Does it even make sense? I couldn’t come to terms with it, so I looked into myths. I even read a translated version of Nihon Shoki and three academic papers.

And if you follow the myths, it's Aqua that isn’t necessary to the story. If you frame Ai, Kamiki, and Ruby as Amaterasu, Sarutahiko, and Amenouzume from Japanese mythology, it all aligns.

Even without Aqua, Sarutahiko (Kamiki) could have been persuaded by his wife (Uzume) to step down, drowned himself, or lived a peaceful life with her. Aqua's presence doesn’t change the myth. Whether Aqua was happy or miserable, it wouldn’t matter to the story—so he could have just lived. It makes me so angry because the ending feels so meaningless. If Ruby is Amaterasu, she would have shone on her own, with or without Aqua. Aqua could have just lived and been fine! He didn’t have to die! The ending was still going to be how it was regardless of his "sacrifice" or not which I can't agree with! I'm not convinced on just why he had to suffer that ill fate after all he's been through!

I’ve read multiple articles about Sarutahiko Okami. While he doesn't have that many lores, one thing stands out: Kamiki being labeled as a “monster” aligns with Sarutahiko’s association with tengu, a mythical Japanese creature. A monster. His appearance even inspired the tengu mask.

Uzume (Ai), meanwhile, is certainly a Fatale for her husband. She seduced him. Not necessarily brought him to his demise but you can sort of see it that way since she convinces Sarutahiko to step down from his position as a solar deity. The myth implies they were a deeply loving couple. They were enshrined together and even blesses couples and marriages in the modern days. If they weren't happy together, they certainly wouldn't do that for others, would they. I didn’t come across any mention of other wives of Sarutahiko or Amenouzume being acquainted with other men, and they seem to have fell in love with each other at first sight. So they were a really good match.

What I get from having read these myths is that, if Uzume had died, Sarutahiko wouldn’t have just stood idly by. He would have used all his power to reunite with her. That aligns with Kamiki’s actions, including the lyrics hinting at forgetting and remembering who he loved and lived for. Kamiki seems like the embodiment of Sarutahiko, devastated by Ai’s death and seeking light to guide him back to her.

The star eyes likely hold Ai's love and light. If Ai is Uzume, then she truly was a goddess blessing the industry. Kamiki would have been convinced he could find her again through the star eyes in that case.

So, was Aqua righteous in what he did? I don’t think so, at least not when it comes to avenging Ai. It feels like he attacked the wrong person. Isn’t it tragic and absurd for the people suffering the most from Ai’s death to destroy each other like this?

I’m not writing this because I like Kamiki but because it bothers me too much to ignore. I might be proven wrong if new material comes out in the anime’s third season or extra chapters, but that’s additional content after the main story has ended. Based on what’s been serialized so far, my interpretation feels accurate. Kamiki isn’t the culprit. He truly loved Ai.

Sarutahiko is a dual-natured deity, capable of great benevolence or immense malice. If Kamiki has fallen into darkness, it’s because he’s been corrupted. He’s lost his purpose, and that’s why Tsukuyomi likely tasked Aqua and Ruby with replacing the solar deity. Sarutahiko, as a divine guide, would have led people down the right path—but what happens when that path is twisted?

From what I see, characters in Akasaka’s works who are reincarnations of gods or possess divine qualities share a common trait: a miserable childhood. They either lack proper parents or suffer abuse. Does Kaguya-sama have characters like this too? Characters with legendary counterparts who endured difficult upbringings?

In this story, Ai, Kamiki, Ruby, Tsukuyomi, and even Aqua all had troubled childhoods. Kamiki and Ai, in particular, seem to have suffered because they were too exceptional—almost unnaturally so. I suspect they didn’t resemble their human parents at all, which caused a sense of unease and led to their isolation. It’s as if they were reincarnations of gods, and their children inherited divine traits for a reason.

Honestly, from my perspective, Ame-no-Uzume(Ai) seems like such a lively and cheerful goddess. She probably made some reckless decision to reincarnate as a human and visit the human world, which led to her husband Kamiki chasing after her, causing this whole mess. Ai, being a star originally, simply returned to being a star, while Kamiki... he just completely lost it. After Ai died, he went mad and was dragged into hell. Like, what is even going on here?

To me, this interpretation is the only explanation that makes the ending of this story somewhat acceptable. I was shocked to find out that Sarutahiko drowned, that was way after Chapter 162 came out as well.

Since I had already researched a lot about the myths, I had this idea from the beginning that Kamiki must be the incarnation of Sarutahiko. Everything about him makes sense if he's that particular god!! And now that all these things match up, it's too obvious for me.

From what I see, this manga’s author is deeply fascinated by Japanese legends and mythology. They seem to have structured the story to align with those myths. But in doing so, the story became way too cruel... especially for the characters.

And I’ll say it again—there was absolutely no reason for Aqua to die as well. Kamiki, from what I felt, was in such a deeply depressed and unstable state that he probably didn’t even want to live anymore. I really think that after Ai’s death, he decided to sacrifice himself just to see her again. After watching Ruby’s performance, it seemed like he planned to offer himself up as a sacrifice, but then Aqua intervened, and they both ended up dying together.

It felt like Kamiki was trying to achieve something, but since he acted like he didn’t care if he died... Just!!! Aqua made a huge mistake, and I just couldn’t support Aqua’s actions at all!!! Couldn’t he have just left things alone?!

Maybe the idea was, “Since Kamiki did so many crazy things, he doesn’t deserve to be peacefully reunited with Ai.” Maybe that’s why? When Kamiki turned pale after hearing, “It won’t turn out the way you want,” it looked like he really had some kind of plan. From what I feel, the only thing he could have wanted was to see Ai again. But!!! Aqua didn’t need to die with him~~~!!!

If we think of it as Aqua’s life being used to seal his corrupted biological dad-god-, then that might make sense... but still, geez.

And who knows, Kamiki might not even be dead. In the mythology, it’s unclear whether Sarutahiko actually died or not, so maybe this manga is the same. Since he’s supposed to be a super-powerful god and the leader of earthly deities, we just don’t know~~~. The author will decide what happens, I guess. I’m done caring anymore, lol. This manga is really something. Why did they write the story like this?

It only makes sense if you look at it through the lens of mythology. Without that, the plot just doesn’t hold up. Even with the mythology, it feels like, “Okay, I guess that’s why this happened?” But still, was it really necessary to go in this direction?

For me, whenever I read or watch something, I don’t just feel my own emotions but also strongly sense the emotions the characters might have experienced.

That’s why I sometimes can’t watch the news—it’s too overwhelming because the emotions transfer to me.

When I looked it up, I found out this is called being an empath. Maybe that’s what I am.

The emotions of this character are so vivid and intense. I’ve rarely misread emotions like these, so it’s been really troubling for me. They’re so clear, but everyone keeps saying he’s a terrible person... but I just don’t think so...

If I didn’t feel or sense anything, it wouldn’t be so hard! I’d just have no thoughts about it.

But when I see him, I feel like, oh, so this is what it’s like to lose the person you love so much that you want to die. It’s something I feel so strongly.

And yet, the author completely failed to expand on this. It’s just too much! The story is too cruel! Not just to this character but to all the others as well. They threw all the characters into a pit of misery and then just moved on without addressing anything properly. Everyone’s left with scars, and we’re just supposed to assume they somehow got over it? That makes no sense! They should have confronted it head-on. That’s why I’m so upset.

Maybe later on, they’ll add more details and make him a villain who deserved to die. But if that happens, it’ll be a change in the character. Based on what we’ve seen so far, there’s no way he’s the one who hurt Ai. I just don’t think it’s possible.

Even the songs... there’s no way those songs would exist in this context. If anything, the combined content points to something else entirely. I really believe it’s all about the gods. That’s the only explanation that makes sense.

Sigh. That’s why this keeps weighing on my mind, and I can’t stop writing about it.

I can’t be the only one feeling this way, right? But it’s so lonely, you know?

I just want to get this off my chest... but it’s not that easy. For me, it’s like... I see something. I feel something. But since it’s all intuition, it’s hard to explain it in words, which is so frustrating. It’s like the answer comes first, and then I figure out the reasoning afterward. But it’s almost always correct. As far as I remember, I’ve never been wrong.

Even with the news lately, there were so many things I could just tell right away. I’d intuitively know what someone meant or intended with their words.

When it comes to emotions, I think it happens a lot. And honestly, it’s fascinating!

Jay Walker, between the seasons seven and eight, was replaced by a shapeshifting alien that has been tracking his movements since season THREE

In the comics, specifically the space one, there is a shapeshifting alien that terrorizes the gang in season 3.

Now at the end of a comic, there is a thread hanging on whether or not the alien came with them or not.

So maybe, just maybe,

The reason that Jay Walker's character is butchered in the later seasons is that it's not Jay, but this shapeshifter from outer space.

It would not only explain his sudden disinterest in inventing, but his watered down personality, and his backstory that he never gets to explain or touches on.

Now now Soda, I hear you saying, Why would this alien wait four to five seasons to pounce

Somewhere in between season seven and season eight, the alien was confident in its ability to perfectly copy Jay, as it waited long enough to memorize his mannerisms, his speech patterns, his basic backstory.

It didn't get everything right, but that was fine

And it worked flawlessly, everyone fell for it.

Usually when a person is replaced or kidnapped or anything in this, they're locked in a jail cell somewhere. For example, Zane in S4 and Cole in S8.

Which means that the Real Jay has been locked in a cell for NINE seasons and not one person has noticed

AND is this just an outlandish theory to compensate for how my poor boy Jay has been murdered character wise in current seasons? MAYBE? Who knows at this point. It's 1am, I'm tired, I'm going to bed.

 there is an element of teamwork in all of these since well y'know they're a duo. but dazai and chuuya probably have a million plans and code words to set them in motion. i've been thinking this over for a while now and many ppl have raised it too since guddobai (グッド・バイ) is dazai osamu's final unfinished work it could be an SOS signal sorta situation.

dazai being dazai probably did make provisions for a scenario where he would be of no use, where the other person's (chuuya's) decisions would have to take center stage BUT not dead apple flavoured since he literally can't do anything unlike then where his revival could nullify shibuzawa's ability. (and also yes, chuuya did technically move according to dazai's plans in dead apple. because he banked on chuuya reviving him in time)

but i do think dazai already made/has a plan in case he was indisposed of. like he knew/accounted for a possibility where he wouldn't be able to do anything. that dazai would be severely injured or handicapped or idk plummeting to his death? <not saying he foresaw the events but dude makes plans for everything he has ANXIETY: EXTREME EDITION>.

dazai probably never thought he'd make it out of meursault alive. but dazai probably hoped that should that be the case chuuya would know what to do. then again dazai probably never foresaw fyodor using chuuya and the usage of 'guddo bai' could essentially be him signalling that he has faith in chuuya like he has always stated. 'a come save me you're the only one who can and i have no more cards left' type of deal. where chuuya will have to work with the premise that there is no more scheming or snark waiting to greet him at the end.
