Polyshow but Emu's a VERY frequent involuntary age regressor to like 3-5 (just like me teehee) and voluntarily can regress really easily to whatever age she wants (though she often just sticks with 3-5), Tsukasa's an involuntary stress regressor to just babie and voluntarily regresses to like 4-6 years old when it's time for babie adventure with the gang, Rui involuntarily regresses to like toddler age when sleepy (he just like me fr) and voluntarily regresses to like 5-7 years old and is a little MENACE, and Nene said regression was "weird" until rui calmly explained to her that she had visibly regressed to a 3-5 year old and screamed at him to put sofia the first on tv like two days ago (she had no memory of this- or so she claimed). At some point she just kinda. Quietly joined in. Nobody mentioned anything so as not to hurt her pride.

AND GET THIS GET THIS THEY GO ON BABIE ADVENTURES INTO THE FOREST!!!! IMAGINE THAT!! And they play pretend and dress up bc they're theatre kids and this totally is not a self insert (I kin the entire wxs unit except for nene)!!!! but like thoughts feelings more additions to the vibes

𐙚 I think these adventures are almost always started by Emu, occasionally by Tsukasa? But only if he’s regressed involuntarily I think. Rui just naturally plays on his own, he doesn’t really think about inviting his friends to play with him. And Nene is just way to shy… But luckily Emu is never afraid to ask to play! Sometimes someone will agree to play even if they’re not regressed, saying they’ll babysit. Emu makes it her personal mission to make sure by the time the play date ends they’re all feeling tiny!

ᯓ★ I’m gonna start off with all of their favorite games… First up Emu! Listen guys I know that we all agree that little Nene likes to play mermaids, but that game is so made for Emu… Emu is absolutely the kid to be like “Yeah yeah! And my tail is pink and shiny but it also has like rainbow scales! Oh and I have kitty ears! And I can control the weather! Oh and-“ And she just goes on and on. She’s also the kind of kid to like playing wolves, any game where she makes up a character? Yeah she’s making it completely outlandish and silly (Purple wolf with red eyes and telepathy during a full moon)

⭑ Tsukasa! Loves! To! Dance! And! Sing! He’ll pick out the perfect music and props and costumes for everyone! And obviously he expects them to do as he says, he’s the troupe leader right? This can lead to meltdowns though because he absolutely does not want to listen to any suggestions. This is his game! He’s making up the rules! If someone annoys him too much he assigns them the role of the audience instead of a performer and they’re instructed to cheer for him. Yes just for him, let’s face it by the end of the show all of them are in the audience. Emu can survive for awhile as a tree but eventually Rui and Nene are watching her more than Tsukasa and he doesn’t like that

❀˖° Rui is the dangerous kiddo… There’s a tree? He’s proposing a challenge to see who can climb the highest! Somewhere to swim? Who can hold their breath the longest! You get the gist. Nene refuses to compete in these challenges, always nervous that something will go wrong. Tsukasa sometimes tries to cheat and Nene will call him out on it which leads to some lighthearted bickering. Emu is actually usually the winner of these challenges- She has a knack for random skills and she’s crazy athletic

𐙚 Nene time! You may be wondering. Ok Asher, if you gave Emu mermaids what does Nene like then huh? Nene liked to play shop! They’ll all set up a booth to sell things! Tsukasa sells performances, Emu sells crafts like drawings or bracelets, Rui sells toys, and Nene sells flowers! They use things like acorns for currency. Tsukasa usually ends up going broke (Nene makes him pay like double), Emu also usually ends up going broke because she wants to buy all this cool stuff from her friends! Nene ends up giving Emu money while Rui saves Tsukasa by taking over his business (Tsukasa doesn’t realize what’s happening even though he agreed to it)

ᯓ★ Emu is the resident bug kid! She’ll grab a handful of bugs then run to show them to her friends! Tsukasa screams so loud, Rui tries hiding behind Nene, and Nene doesn’t mind seeing them! But if Emu puts a bug on her she starts crying. When Emu gets bugs out Tsukasa usually climbs a tree to hide (He doesn’t realize that Emu can not only climb trees but she’s faster than him at it). Rui tries to act unbothered but he’s absolutely terrified of them. He also isn’t very well hidden behind Nene and has to crouch down a lot, which gets very uncomfortable very quickly. Tsukasa tries calling him up into the tree to save him though!

⭑ I think they’d like to play house! Emu is always the dog, usually a talking dog? But sometimes she thinks it’s funny to just bark at her friends. The other threes roles depend on the day, Nene is only ever a kid if Tsukasa is though so they can be bickering siblings. Tsukasa is voted to be the best dad because he gives them ice cream for all the meals. When Rui’s a kid he usually just talks to Emu and pets her which she is overjoyed about. Emu’s favorite line to say is “Wonderbark~!” Usually with some kind of silly pose that leads to her falling over in some way. Tsukasa tries to copy her! He’s better at not falling over

❀˖° Dress up! Nene likes to dress up in long flowy costume dresses, she also uses them as an excuse to not do the others crazy schemes “I can’t! I’ll get it dirty!” Emu likes mixing things that don’t go together at all, think Christmas dress with armor with cat ears with a tiara. And probably fairy wings- Emu loves dressing the boys up in dresses and telling them how pretty they look! Nene laughs at them and Tsukasa gets embarrassed and Rui absolutely OWNS it, he’ll do twirls and pose and everything! Emu happily claps and jumps up and down for all of her friends!

𐙚 They love playing pretend! They’ll go into the forest and divide into good or bad teams (They say it’s randomized but Tsukasa and Nene are almost always good and Emu and Rui are almost always bad). Nene the wonderful princess gets captured by the evil Rui and Emu! The Alchemist and his assistant (Cue Tsukasa saying “No- Emu! Puppies can’t do magic!”) And Tsukasa is the brave knight on his way to save the princess! Obviously the good guys always win, usually by showing the others the light, making them stop being evil. Emu loves to scream out “Happily Ever After!” However it loses its effect by the end because she shouted it like 5 times throughout the early game

ᯓ★ I think they’d all work hard to recreate Nene’s favorite video games in real life! Mainly Rui comes up with the ideas, Emu over enthusiastically carries them out (Sometimes messing things up cause she’s so excited), Tsukasa has absolutely no idea what they’re doing (He can be clueless if he’s not really interested) but he’s happy to try and follow instructions! They’ll find sticks and stuff to use as pretend weapons and random odd shaped objects for puzzle games! Emu will get incredibly attached to fragile things like leaves then cry when they get ripped

⭑ Emu loves making friends in the forest! Everyone else is fairly supportive, Nene can get spooked easily though and she’ll hide behind Rui. Tsukasa always charges ahead claiming he’ll clear the path to protect them, which leads to Emu tackling him screaming about doing it together. Rui is like a narrator, always commenting on the things he sees. I think Nene pulls him down and whispers things into his ear to announce too! “Ah Tsukasa found a rare friend, our star runs- Ah Nene? … Yes yes, he scurries like a cowardly mouse-“

Oh my brain tends to waver in all different directions, so here's current *looks at time* 3-4 am Zondes takes

Ichika: Wolfdog in a way. She gives me abandoned oupy vibes. Maybe Wolf au also played a part

Saki: Golden retriever, I'm taking that from Corv with no semblance of shame. Saki is Dogcoded, her twintails are big floppy ears and you can squish her face

Honami: I can see her as multiple things really. Anything big and gentle, but the first thought is bear (although a small voice in me says bears are loners so that couldn't work so maybe reindeer?)

Shiho: Arctic fox I suppose? There aren't many Shiho animals in my brain, except ig canon bnuy Shiho (very valid) and shoebill Shiho (which I very like) . I'm still more or less indecisive and assign based on vibes, setting and au theme.

Minori: Another dogcoded girl for me, she got that dawg in her. Definitely a mut, idk what mix though. I do sometimes gravitate to otter or hummingbird☝️

Haruka: Easy penguin, but Wolf au rewired my brain to think falcon. Specifically because a fairytale I read for reference had a guy collect multiple unique things to lift a curse or something (3am brain) and the first one was the blue falcon, then the white lightsword, the golden horse and lastly the princess of France (which I jokingly call Minori pfahaha). I gave au Haruka a falcon because of that and heavily associated it with her (also falcon fits her personality imo)

Airi: Once again Wolf au bias, she in my eyes is a lynx. Maybe severe brainrot has influenced me, but lynx fits her well. It's a feline, it's said to be observant and knowledgeable of humanity, but isn't part of it (I connect this with main story Airi and her idolhood + it's also Wolfs themes) fwuffy paws☝️....Yeah I rest that case

Shizuku: Snowy owl. I want to draw wof au Shizuku with snowy owls, gog au Shizuku is a snowy owl, Wolf au...nah there she is connected to hares, so except that, heavily see her as a snowy owl. Additionally, Owls are very pretty and seem intelligent, but are really dense in reality, so that fits. (Although Sega does give us a good Shizuanimal with swans)

Kohane: Call me lazy, but hamster. Things are speaking for snake and I would actually love some snake!kohane in the world (looks at mirror with big beady eyes) still hamster is the kohammy animal. Hamster and/or sheep.... yesh

An: Another Wolfdog in my eyes (points at a-crowcats-nonsense furry!au) I see her having that dog in her. Although she could also be a dolphin of sorts, many thoughts

Akito: Cat. He's very catcoded and lives in a cardboard box (in my heart)

Toya: Moth is the first thought, maybe because I think he's giving... powdery texture and the base moth I think about is a black and white one. He could also be a snow owl, or a hooded crow... gasp *points at goliath beetle that hangs on my wall* and that

Tsukasa: I initially wrote lion, but then I recall Tsukasa in the Wolf au being connected to deer (in Airis Pov) which I stand more besides. Still his hair could be a banger mane for a lion

Emu: Can I say doggirl? Ig I do put all the energetic girls into the oupy category. Emu is actually just an adjective used to describe energetic animals. Emu kinkaju, emu ferret, emu budgie etc. etc. I see a thing with too much energy and go "just like Emu from my gacha game" she's a dog for me but so much more

Nene: My first impression on Nene was "Her hair makes her look like a pathetic dog"... yes this is another dog girl for me. But she can also be Emus anxious cheetah to her overly social dog.

Rui: I could say platypus, but I see Rui more as a bird. Likely an owl of sorts (I am suspecting a gog au bias) Although a manewolf would work aswell

Kanade: *fighting the urge to say dog* snake... or deer. She's giving "animal who has to be put down" but also "emotional support animal that also needs emotional support" I see a dog, but I'm not brave enough to declare the ninth doggirl

Mafuyu: Jellyfish I suppose. I do associate Mafuyu with many things, yet jellyfish is the most concrete. Probably because of her aquarium + the kitchen lamp resembling a jellyfish + wof au. I do think more of her as tangled in one as really one, but the thought... maybe octopus aswell

Ena: Cat or wolf (Wolf au bias for the latter). She is giving more of a cat though so I settle with Ena hissing and batting at people (Mizuki)

Mizuki: Cuckoo, because of Wolf au bias, but cat in my heart. Cuckoo is just because it dabbles in ugly duckling themes, something something your body is betraying you (which only works in a au setting though, since there she's also a changeling which makes the connection clearer) Cat fits better with canon Mizuki, so my final say is cat, or feline of any kind.

Sorry that this took so long to answer !! I might've been a little too thorough with my response ... (^^;

In all honesty, I find it difficult to discover female characters that are named in tbhk, much less around Nene and Aoi's age, so there aren't that many. Also, I see Sakunene & Aoi and Sakura as more of Aoi & Nene having a crush on an older girl in the class above them !! For convenience sake, I'll be adding some girls I think Nene and Aoi might've had crushes on and why, too !!

This has actually seriously made me realize how little tnhk girls there are ... ( ´_ゝ`)

1) Nene & Shijima Mei (OG Timeline)

To me, Nene is a girl who often finds herself struggling with her femininity. Even when she's learned to cook, sew, and garden in an attempt to become more feminine, it seems like she's still unable to do things properly or "feminine enough." In her opinion, she doesn't have much "feminine charm." Nene bases her value on how much she lives up to this standard of being a pretty, slim legged girl who's quiet and cute. This makes it difficult for her to acknowledge her own appeal, even though she takes most things in stride and is admittedly stubborn.

Shijima Mei, on the other hand, in a way fits the standards Nene is so desperately trying to reach. Except, she seems to be fulfilling them in a ... strange way. Because it's forced on her. She doesn't want to be quiet. In fact, she's ecstatic to talk with Nene in the Picture Perfect Arc. Shijima Mei is pretty and has slender legs, but she's weak and lacks Nene's strength since she's often bound to a hospital bed. Instead of being allowed to express her boundless personality, she's forced to bind it to paper with her art.

I'd imagine Nene admires Shijima Mei simply because she is pretty - as she does with all pretty girls - but also, her ability to keep going and stay optimistic. While she knows that she's going to die, no outcome can change her future, Shijima Mei keeps going. The two of them are both doomed by time. Except, while Nene runs from her fate, Shijima Mei accepts it with open arms. I think that might have partly inspired a fierceness in Nene - if Shijima could keep going, then so could she.

Coming back to the theme of feeling distanced from femininity- if you check all the tbhk official arts, the girls all wear skirts and dresses, except Shijima Mei. In every single art, she's wearing pants. I think the only time we see her wear something skirt/dress like is her hospital gown, and of course, the Shijima created to be a School Mystery.

So, I feel like Shijima's more laidback, carefree attitude would have a positive effect on Nene! She could help her to feel more comfortable in her skin and reassure her of her femininity, reminding her that it looks different on everyone. Nene, on the other hand, could be Shijima's muse and inspire her to make more art! I think it would be really cute if Nene was her favorite subject to draw! Even though Nene didn't appreciate it, I thought it was cute how Shijima accepted her thicker legs and ankles right away and even wanted to draw her almost immediately.

If she ever got healthier, I feel like she would carry Nene around a lot. She actually has quiet the princely character, the one Nene loves so much.

2) Aoi & Hanazashi

Hanazashi was first introduced in the most recent arc, having been voted as Dorothy due to her bubbly personality and friendly demeanor. I feel she has a similar sort of personality mesh as Shijima and Nene, which would be a good influence on Aoi to loosen up! To be cast as Dorothy, Hanazashi must have a good singing voice! Aoi is also one of the most desired girls in her class, so I feel Hanazashi might get anxious around her and end up ranting a lot due to nerves.

Also, the idea of them rehearsing lines together is super cute! I imagine them gaining a crush on each other during the play - they see the other as they sing a duet, and are amazed by the others voice! And of course, they both look cute in their costumes, too!

I'll be honest, I haven't really considered any actual ships besides these ... I looked through the female cast of tbhk so I could find the names of some characters I remember Nene gushing over, and honestly ... there's a very large ratio between the female and male characters. It almost feels kind of like a shounen !! ( ´△｀)

In all honesty, Nene looks up to almost every female character in the cast. She often brings up their physical appearance, and reels in on certain traits that she thinks gives them charm. First of all, Nene is stunned by Yako when she appears, and she easily lets Sumire do whatever she wants. Almost immediately, she wanted to help Sumire right away. In all honesty she gushes over Aoi with every breath, and she marveled at Sakura "looking beautiful like a doll." With Shijima Mei, she was a bit weirded out by her at first, but she immediately thought, "Wow she's pretty," basically.

If there was anyone Aoi looked up to, I think it would be Sakura, Himari, or Minami! Sakura is well liked among her classmates, but she has a mysterious aura and an almost doll like beauty. She's quiet, but anything but delicate. Himari is mature and hangs off Minami's side. Even though she carries herself in a more adult way, she also knows how to have fun and socializes well despite being a but shy. Minami is very extroverted and liked for her boisterious personality and loud self expression! I think Aoi would admire her ability to do that and express herself so freely!

to whoever sees this post. do you have a favourite april fools class? because i do and it is one HUNDRED percent solid heart. i love every character in here so much it is so perfect to me that they were all put together

shiho is not my favourite in leo/need (its actually honami) but i honestly really identify with her and it's so great to watch her develop and see the way she deeply cares for her friends (and her sister please stop saying she hates/dislikes shizuku i cant take it) despite her tough exterior

airi is my absolute favourite character for so many reasons. first of all- she is so cute! i love her design and her cards are all great. but even more so i adore her character as a whole. you can see that she really loves not only her fans - from the way she interacts with them on livestreams, and there's also her interactions with saki if you need another example -, but also her unitmates - the way she shares her experience with minori to help her improve, admires haruka and supports her, reminding her to take breaks, and dont even get me *started* on shizuku because there is so much to say about them that i would end up talking about them forever - and also her close friends, such as ena (she's also in solid heart by the way! love her!)

akito is so SO passionate about music and honestly i'm with him there. he likes people who are also passionate about their interests - i am also with him there! i just overall really enjoy how committed and hard working he is when it comes to music, the way he interacts with and cares for the rest of vbs, and also i think his dynamic with ena is great

nene is literally just like me for real for real. i love to reread the wxs stories in order to see how she gradually opens up to her unitmates and becomes more confident - around her peers, but also whilst performing on stage. the rest of wxs love and care about her and she, too, loves and cares about them! she dreams big, and continues to pursue her dreams even though she knows that one day she'll have to leave wxs because of them. because of this she also cherishes all the time she spends with them !! also in canary sings in a quagmire she has the courage and strength to ask for help from her idol herself and it's just so brilliant to see how far she's come from the beginning of the story when she could barely talk to the rest of wxs and had to hide behind nenerobo AND SHE'S ALSO JUST SO CUTE IN GENERAL AND I LOVE HER OK

i feel like ena and her character arc often don't get a lot of attention in this fandom compared to the rest of niigo but i honestly love how far she's come and how she's improving at art and gradually gaining more and more confidence in her creations - to the point where she also teaches others how to draw (rainbow canvas event story) . just her deciding to rejoin her old art class was such an impactful moment for me and i'm super interested to see how she'll develop from this point onward. furthermore! the way she supports the rest of niigo! i love it! when she took mafuyu to her house in someday this wish will transcend the morning sky! the ending of my footsteps your destination! it's just so beautiful and she is such a great character and i could talk about her and niigo in general for hours but for the sake of this post not being longer than an essay i will not

and KAITO ! i do not really have anything to say about him compared to the others but some time last year i made a list of my favourite commissioned songs from each unit and they all featured kaito (except niigo because niigo kaito didnt exist at the time) so theres that

Conlang Year Days 278–289

The end of the year draws nearer and nearer and we seem to be wrapping up grammar with this section on speech indication—judging by the fact that the latest shift in focus has been to starting a short translation project. (And now I have to think about what text I'll pick for that...)

But let's set that aside and talk about... talking! About talking. Talk about talking about talking. That sounds right.

Days 278–283

The basics of indirect and direct quotational structures. Now, I happened to already have had a decent indirect quotational structure—let me see if I can find my example from before—ah, here it is:

Gakani ciako ne deitei tiona Keiti ne ja nene. [say.PST.3SG DAT.1SG ACC INF.eat NOM.PST Keiti ACC the onion] They told me Keiti ate the onion.

There've been onions going around since days 116–119, so you can tell the old examples from the new because they were made before the specific compound nenetono was created, and just call onions "fruit*".

*technically nene is a bit more broad than "fruit" and covers all edible plant parts except for leaves and maybe roots (as evidenced by the fact that you can use it to mean "onion") but we don't have time to get into that

I figured the most sensible way to get direct quotations, then, was to use the same structure and adapt it to take a quotation rather than an embedded clause.

Gakani ne deitei tiona Keiti ne ja nenetono. [say.PST.3SG ACC INF.eat NOM.PST Katie ACC the circle-fruit] They (sg.) said Katie* ate the onion.

Gakani ne “teigani tio Keiti ne ja nenetono.” [say.PST.3SG ACC eat.PST.3SG NOM Katie ACC the circle-fruit] They (sg.) said, “Katie ate the onion.”

*I switch back and forth between changing Keiti to "Katie" and leaving it as "Keiti." This is because it could be interpreted either as a transliteration of the name Katie or as a native Lecizao name Keiti. Katie, the character from these examples who I've been having eat onions since I first needed to increase valency, has existed as an entity since before then, and has always been named Katie, and I'll make the executive statement in this footnote that she is not a native Lecizao speaker and her given name is "Katie" and would only be spelled "Keiti" when speaking Lecizao or as interpreted by a native Lecizao speaker. Grey, the other character from these examples, is a native Lecizao speaker. This is a really long footnote and I'm going to end it before it gets even longer.

Straightforward. You can see that in the second sentence, the verb is conjugated for person and objective tense, rather than being put in the infinitive. This is a direct quotation of an independent sentence.

Another example:

Gakani tio Lenui ne deiduma nalako ne deimiju. [say.PST.3SG NOM Grey ACC INF.need PST.NOM.1SG ACC INF.sleep] Grey said that I (the speaker) needed to sleep.

Gakani tio Lenui ne “dumano ne deimiju.” [say.PST.3SG NOM Grey ACC need.PST.1SG ACC INF.sleep] Grey said, “I (Grey) needed to sleep.”

I've bolded the most important difference here. In the first sentence, the first person pronoun is present and carrying a tense marker, because it's in an embedded clause, and it refers to the speaker of the overall sentence. In the second, the verb encodes both person and tense, and the first-person marking refers to the speaker of the quote, i.e. Grey. Also, in the second sentence, we know that Grey spoke in the past tense, but in the first, we only know that in the speaker's past, Grey told them they needed to sleep—he could have been speaking in present or past tense.

In written speech, there's one more option for direct quotations. While Lecizao is always strictly verb-first, in most sentences arguments such as objects and locations can be reordered to fit the speaker's intentions. In written direct quotations, the subject is added to the list of arguments that can be freely moved around, adding possibilities like this:

Xenoscouts DA Collab

Hey there, all you Nintendo fan artists! My friends over on DeviantArt, Twitter and Tumblr are hosting a Xenoblade Chronicles collab in which the theme is camping and scout troops. Call it Xenoscouts if you will.

After some discussion and support from various allies, my friend NinGemTitan decided to come out of retirement and host this smaller-scale collaboration. In this project, artists will draw Xenoblade Chronicles characters as scouts (like real life childhood) camping peacefully but wearing creatively designed individual uniforms. Camping is one idea that may not have been used often, so this could be fresh fun. Note that only protagonists are allowed, for the sake of peace.

The background should depict a forest (during an ambiguous season) with a cabin/tents and a campfire. One artist can volunteer and make it 8000 x 4000. Maybe a Titan or two would be fitting.

Rules (subject to change):

Please ask me for a character first, and then you can add yourself to the list, unless you want me to type your name on the list for you.

Entries must be colored and full-body (unless a camping object is in front of them).

No overly invasive watermarks. Small signatures and such will suffice.

If you wish to send me the non-watermarked versions privately (through a DM), that is perfectly fine.

Each entry in the list must be separate, for arrangement freedom.

Be creative in making your scout uniform designs, as I want you to put in full effort and have fun with your entries.

Please describe what camping activity each character would do. Examples include roasting marshmallows or fish, chopping wood, etc.

Entries must be 500 x 500 at a minimum.

Tracing, bases, and AI are completely forbidden. Art must be done 100% by you.

I will regularly check on you to make sure you're on task. Each entry has a due date of one month. To get an extension, please provide a real-world explanation AND show me a WIP, no exceptions.

Ask for only one character at a time; once finished, then ask for another one. I want to give other artists an equal chance to join and reduce the chances of overdue characters. This means no reservations, but you can ask to replace your character with a new one if available. No change-backs, though.

PNGs with transparent BGs are recommended. This saves time for the assembly.

Shadows and shading must go bottom right, for consistency.

No NSFW or raunchy content.

If applicable, artists from Twitter will be added to the list.

Could I get a kin match up with Danganronpa, TBHK, bungou stray dogs?

- I’m fun and one of the loudest people in my friend group, but outside of it my usual quiet. I’m not shy or anything, I just don’t have anything to say to them… actually I get kind of nervous when I speak to outside people because I’m scared I’ll go on a big talking spree.

- I guess going back to the talking spree, I love talking about my interest!! Not in a rude way or anything, I just need someone to talk about the shows I’m watching or about movies. It could be anything from character development and designs to movie lighting or how they built up one scene in an amazing way!

- I hate texting because I write at least two small paragraphs as a response. Why is this bad? Well I get anxious whenever people type back with one 3-4 words as a response to me because I think I weirded them out.

- I have a crying problem. Anything could set me off. I gotten better at holding it together, but it’s still nothing special. It’s been happening since I was young, at the time being the worst. I finally snapped in year 4 where I just didn’t give a bloody damn about anyone outside what I considered my friend group, that’s the year I remember I didn’t cry that much.

- Okay more lighter notes, I love to write and take lead in different situations (where I most need to, I don’t do it most of the time). I also love drawing!

- Idk if this is needed, but my type has always been brown hair/brown eyes idiot. But I have some exceptions.

- I really love swimming! I hate doing it competitively, but I don’t mind doing a couple laps. Fave is mix between backstroke, freestyle and butterfly. I can’t do breaststroke for the god damn life of me.

- I’m not mean in anyway, but because it’s common in my family I tend to say some things on accident that could someone’s feelings… or on purpose. But overall I’m known as a kind person. I get along with most people (boys and girls and other) and I’m considered a friend in each of those friend groups. But I’ve made friend-enemy’s by this, I still get along with them but… it could be better.

- Sorry is my favourite word. I say it way to much. To myself, to items I’ve dropped or to items other people dropped that I was in the range of.

- I’m the tallest girl in my class and the 4 tallest altogether in my class! I’ve always been tall, so I usually crack jokes about it to my shorter friends.

HoloServer Quarterly Report

Usada Constructions - Buy

To understand the current position of UsaKen, we must look to its history. At first, UsaKen was a joke, a riff on Majima Constructions, a potemkin company only existing to serve the whims of the founder and CEO. Pekora’s project was sophisticated and massive, her pranks simply legendary. But out of the blue, Moona enters. The mutual awkwardness worked in their favor, in fact this will be a prevailing theme, what might seem like a highly dysfunctional group, actually turns the whole thing into strength.

The Rabbit and Moon theme didn’t hurt them either, and the idea of Usada Construction as an actual entity enters the public consciousness, especially as a point of comparison to the fledgling Akukin Constructions… although it could be said that Akukin was the remnant of Hololive Resistance in some sense. This led to the initial expansion with the hiring of Coco and Kiara… but again this was more of a joke, a fleeting thought before UsaKen was about to come on its own.

It was the Akukin Relay that really set the ball rolling. Not only did we have the fortuitous event of Kanata accepting a position in UsaKen before finding out she did get a callback from Akukin, it spurred Pekora into focusing on Minecraft, especially her gaming plans were dirtied by corporate pressure. Pekora started small, with her misbehaving cannon and putting out her petty anger onto Noel, but soon Pekora unveiled her grand plan, Pekoland, and immediately set out to organize the company as a whole.

By now, the company was fairly-sized. It added Botan and eventually Towa into the mix, although Botan is still technically an affiliate and Towa first came with revenge, before using the company as an opportunity to learn how to be evil. Now the company measured seven strong, although they were quite disparate, having members from all three branches and across three generations. This was quickly noticed and a discord server was made in response, which led to another group project immediately after Pekoland, which was already a pretty big project. Combined with Coco’s final innovation, the Summer Festival became an even bigger project in the end.

And it would be odd to think this would end soon. There’s an actual structure to things now, people can communicate and build on ideas and the whole thing seems pretty democratic, even with its autocratic start. And Summer Festival brought UsaKen into the center of Hololive narrative. UsaKen is now the de facto face of HoloServer, and perhaps even Hololive itself. People look at the former loner as the master organizer. Things only look up from here, which is worrisome, but there’s enough in UsaKen that I’m less worried than usual. UsaKen will always come out stronger in the end.

Akukin Constructions - Buy

Meanwhile, Akukin completely collapsed. It felt like Aqua would return from her Apex marathon, but it turns out prior and prep for the solo concert meant a month break is what she needed, therefore Akukin was without a leader for one more month.

Lamy and Nene managed with their own projects, but the rest kind of fell apart. But the Summer Festival changed all that. Just as Akukin Relay signalled Pekora a restructuring was needed, Summer Festival meant Akukin had to show up. So, the skit continued. During the Akukin Relay arc, the mysterious yet feisty boss with two second-in-command who actually runs the thing scheming and fretting was a hit, with a hint of blackness in its blasted scaffoldings. Now, the blackness is very much apparent. Aqua cannot let the failing company go, and has become vicious. Considering Marine's past, this works to their favor. Lamy and Nene would be their own thing. Roboco and Mel would pop in now and again. As for Iofi and Aki… well, I’m not sure.

Choco, which I deemed the liaison for Shiranui, which has a contractual relationship with Akukin, now liaisons for Oozora Group as well. Choco might be the next important person just because of that connection factor. Akukin might be a contracting company now, although Aqua would not be happy about where they stand now.

Oozora Group - Hold

I know that Oozora Constructions, now Oozora Group, is not a publicly traded company anymore, but I still suggest holding onto that now-worthless piece of paper. The problem with Oozora Constructions was that its story went nowhere. Korone’s house was interesting, but it rarely had an ending, since it required Korone to cooperate and that’s usually an awkward thing at best. Her other projects were half-baked, and most importantly Subaru never really had that recognition. She wanted to build a company but others laughed at the prospect. So Rushia lost faith and moved to UsaKen. Oozora was tanking before it started to fly. But Matsuri took grace and joined Oozora, at which point it became a group. It’s not like Matsuri and Luna, the other employee, haven’t been together, and Subaru was called Matsuri by Sora, so why not?

In the last report, I said Matsuri is more like a government employee than a free agent, and indeed it seems Oozora Group now acts like a governmental organization, with building a police station being the first undertaking after restructuring. This is actually not bad. Public utilities are dearly needed in HoloServer anyways, and Subaru acting as a public servant removes the desperation in her actions that would make interactions much more friendly and interesting. By falling, Subaru might have turned a corner.

Tangent - Using an extended analogy, when the age of giant reptiles was wiped out by a meteorite, there were small survivors, which we now know as birds. So, it looks like Coco’s legacy would also be held by birds, holotoris to be exact. To explain why, let’s look at the current functional part of Coco. Coco is the bridge that connects East to the West, not just in terms of language, but also in culture and mores. In that way, holotoris nicely distributes this responsibility. Subaru might be the best JP member after Haachama in terms of English comprehension, and she is quite cognizant of recent foreign perspectives as well… so she could be a good future ambassador. For Reine, her Indonesian teaching stream reminds me of Coco’s early streams. And Kiara’s Holotalk has been the counterweight to Coco’s meme review since it started… Not to mention, these three are the most extroverted of their respective branches.

Shiranui-Elite Conglomerate - Hold

SEC is an organization of my own creation, but it’s a useful one, because it fits the current situation well. To sum up, Elite Construction was starting to fall apart as Minecraft activities waned, one of the replacements was GTA V, and the three major players were Miko, Flare and Suisei. Their collab together was probably the highlight of the last quarter and gave us a bright spot during a time of troubles.

As Minecraft activities increased, due to PekoLand and HoloID mall and Mel and Roboco popping in and out, the connection before was starting to bore out in Minecraft. Shiranui was originally a contracting company, working with Akukin for example. Therefore it had a family business type, indeed the only other employee was an honorary one given to Flare’s wife, Noel. But a series of interactions with Polka and Choco led to this master and apprentice relationship, which was a major hit.

Flare, pardon the pun, was always the black sheep of the Hololive Fantasy. While the other four have something to stand out and something to back the flash (Pekora draws with her laughter and manic behavior which is backed up by her earnest shyness, Rushia draws from her yandere metal screams which backed up by her sincerity and fragility, Noel draws with her upper assets and ASMR which is backed up by her erogaki silliness and her charming singing, and Marine draws from her horny nature which is backed up by her wit and almost motherly wiseness), Flare never really landed a character. Indeed, Flare is a straight man through and through. Not quite a tsukkomi like Subaru or Kanata at times, since there is not that retorting arrogance the two can exhibit, as people call, Flare was your comfy older sister...

But the Western audience and this Polka relationship changed that. In the West, the fatherly figure has more of a distinct and prominent role, and Flare can emulate this pretty well. A dad is grounded and serious, but can be silly and childish at times. But the silly and childishness does not undercut his serious nature… and that goes well with Flare (perhaps even more so than Calli, who is on a goofier side of things). Therefore Flare could finally breathe and express herself. And the introduction of Miko and Suisei brings the crew into full focus. They are reminiscent of early UsaKen, except while UsaKen was disparate, SEC most closely resembles… well, a D&D party. With your typical silly arguments and trials leading to growth and so on.

Adding Marine or even Nene might disturb this. Flare is fine with the size and I am too. It’s not like there are any real pickings left anyway. Shiranui-Elite conglomeration have a long journey ahead of them, but a brighter future that goes along with it too.

Haachama Construction - Sell (but buy Watasheep)

It was inevitable. Haachama/Haato thing was not going to be settled soon. Haato barely finished the Coexist arc, getting the Anno disease in the process. It was pretty clear that the Haato/Haachama thing became overblown and unfitting to what Hololive was now.

But this leaves us with Watame, and Watame is in an interesting position. Watame is between a lot of companies now. With Shiranui-Elite, she is part of the four heavenly lords, and as Watasheep, she does the delivery of Menya Botan and KFP, both part of UsaKen, who inadvertently cornered the fast-food business. And she is part of the 4th Gen, who has come much closer due to the departure of Coco.

Watame has always made the safe choice, she revolutionized the server with her excellent Janken machine, but it was Kanata who became the seller. Watame might choose to leave herself out, since her Minecraft streams are kind of meant to be relaxing. The reason she deliberately chose to level her field, instead of building the sign outwards like the rest of the signs. So, perhaps nothing comes of this…

OkaKoro Constructions & Shirakami Forestry - Buy

This wave of HoloServer was so large that even the rarer visitors felt a need to visit. Flare has reached out to Okayu, who has pointed out the reason for her absence was the loss of her basement and Korone has followed interest in the server as well.

Fubuki returned to finish her massive sakura tree, of course she acts alone, but she has been increasingly open to hiring people, but it’s not sure if this will become reality. Perhaps if Akukin finally dissolves, there would be enough workforce…

Kureiji Constructions - Buy

Ollie had a roller coaster of three months… Like a burnt fuse, Ollie has had several physical problems… that didn’t stop her from doing math streams (there are precedents Yashiro and Gwelu being good examples) and returning recently with late contributions to the Summer Festival. Reine has been helping on the side as well…

Free Agents - Sell

There is not much of this category anymore. Anya is the One who does not play Minecraft, in fact her demeanor is quite different from anyone else. Ayame not only has been gone from Minecraft, she has been gone, period. She really just returned to streaming after about three weeks? Risu is the only one remotely available, but she has the gene of OkaKoro, which does not induce work ethics in Minecraft, no matter how skilled she is. (Her roller coaster MLG is still one of my favorite clips)

Overall, 2021 Q2 was the best of times and the worst of times. There was a lot of big progress and a lot of setbacks as well. It’s a deeply uncomfortable but adventurous position, as it always has been for HoloServer and HoloPro as a whole. Next quarter will be further accomplishments and further challenges, and the company and the personalities and the audience will bear it through it all, as they always have.

what was your favorite part of glee that wasn’t Kurt or Blaine related?

Oh goodness, Nonny, thank you for not being another troll. 

Okay, so I’m really bad at giving simple answers, so hopefully you don’t mind this overly complicated reply.  This is a really hard question to answer because I think you’ll find that Kurt and/or Blaine was integrated into so much of the show that it’s hard to look at it without either of them being in it?  

Season 1 - 

I really appreciate the comedy and the structure of season 1.  It’s probably the funniest season of the show - but it had this biting, satirical comedy, that was aware of itself often times, but without the parody that the went on in the last couple of seasons.  Both Sue and Brittany were pretty comical, and most of the background-y things besides just Kurt were pretty entertaining.  

It was also a well done season? The music performances were integrated in really creative ways.  And I think this is the only season where the competition episodes actually work.  

(Just as an FYI - the music, in general, I mostly enjoyed throughout the series - so, I’m just going to mention that here.)  

I mostly liked Rachel during the entire first season - she was a character I think you could get behind, and I think during the first half of the season, Finchel was really sweet.  I also appreciate Jesse more than I used to.  

I liked most of the Mercedes, Artie, and Tina stuff in general.  I realize Kurt was around for a lot of that, too, but I do enjoy those characters on their own for season 1.  Do you guys remember the plot line where Mercedes dates Puck for an episode? It was pretty funny and random.  Stuff like that. 

Season 2 - 

Oh god, not as much as you might think - I find season 1 more tolerable sans Kurt, actually.   The humor hadn’t become bland or non-existent yet, so that was still pretty good.  And the way the season just blended all the stories together was amazing - structurally, it’s a beautiful and solid season. 

Coach Beiste was a nice addition to the cast, always enjoy Dot Marie Jones.  Can I count Burt and Carole as a couple? Because Burt and Carole as a couple.  I liked the kids as a group more than the individual story lines, so episodes that were really well done like Duets, Silly Love Songs, Born This Way - stuff like that.  

The stuff with Sue’s sister Jean was always really sweet.  

Season 3 - 

God, I barely like the stuff with Kurt and Blaine...  

Cooper.   I mean, all the Cooper.  A lot of the guest stars during this season were really good actually, Ricky Martin, Jeff Goldblum, Whoopi Goldberg, Nene Leakes, lots of solid people.  

Again, bigger group episodes - Extraordinary Merry Christmas and Heart stand out because they used everyone so well.  Also, the introduction to Unique was well done.  

Then there’s just smaller things - Sue getting glitter bombed, the body-swap part of Props, stuff like that.  

Season 4 - 

This is where it really gets hard, because so much is tied to either Kurt and/or Blaine. 

Finn’s arc of being a teacher I really enjoyed.  Marley’s friendships with Unique and Finn.  Sam being a sweetheart.  Mercedes being a mentor.  Santana after she moved into the loft.  

I think the second half of the season, they really started to bring back the comedy, and I appreciated that.  

Season 5 - 

Geez, most of it... A lot of the first half of the season was very comedic and group oriented on the Lima side, which I really enjoyed.  How they handled Finn’s death.  And pretty much everything on the New York side.  Rachel and Santana had some fun things to do (except the whole feud thing).   Loved Adam Lambert.  

The second half in New York - pretty much everything.  I think the only thing I didn’t like was the ten minutes devoted to Sue hooking up with random NY dude.  

I think the only thing that I straight up don’t like is the Christmas episode. The rest of the season is fairly watchable without fast forwarding.  

Season 6 - 

More of it than you might expect.  I think it was funny, and the story structure was solid (which I appreciate).  

The New Newbies were fun.  Rachel’s story about heading back to New York (and the return of Jesse) was good.  It was nice that Mercedes was kept around.  Brittany and Santana’s final arc was decently done.  The wrap up of the show was handled mostly well.

It’s such a hard question, really Nonny.  Overall, musical performances I really enjoyed.  I liked the comedy when it was smart and/or satirical (which is most of the seasons that aren’t season 3).  I really prefer bigger ensemble episodes - where the cast got to all play off each other.  As for main characters - Rachel in seasons 1, 5 and 6; Mercedes all the time; Mike, Finn in season 4, Sam all the time, Brittany when she’s not acting like a child, Santana in the second half of the series, and then bit part players such as Burt, Carole, Coach Beiste, etc, etc.  

But, ngl, nonny, Kurt and Blaine are always my biggest draw, and probably 90% of the stuff I enjoy on the show relates to one of them in some way.
