✩ His flashes are usually really good, but if Soap or Ghost make a snide remark, or Price tries to take the leadership-role, he'll flash everyone. Says it was a misclick but no one is buying it.

✩ Has watched multiple lineup videos, and takes it all very seriously. If you or Soap are bantering while he's trying to do it exactly right, he'll threaten to go to your rooms and smother you with your pillows. (Neither of you complain, and if you're feeling particularly bratty, you'll push him to his limits.)

✩ Was the first one to play Valorant, and got Soap hooked. From there, it spiralled, but he's just happy he gets to do something he enjoys so much with the people he loves so much.

✩ Definitely the most patient one of the team. He kinda taught all of you at some point, because he doesn't get pissed off as easily as Soap. Also, he just loves watching as either you, Price or Ghost start to understand how fun it is -- and start to be able to properly play.

✩ [NSFW] Has played with you sitting on his dick, letting you cockwarm him while he presses kisses into your neck. Did it while in a custom game with Soap, and whenever Soap was starting to win, he'd set the voicechat to auto, so your moans and whimpers could be heard. ✩ He plays KJ purely out of spite. When you three (ghost would never) first begged him to play with you, Soap, Gaz and you had convinced him to play Brim. He was not impressed when five minutes in, Soap was whining for him to try and say the voice lines.

✩ The reason he likes playing her so much is because he can spend his time setting up sites. He likes defense over attack, and it's really cute when he hums while trying to do lineups.

✩ (He doesn't tell any of you this, but part of it is that he gets to sit back while you all compete for top frag. In the field, he might take the top rank, but he likes seeing you all laugh and poke fun at each other. He falls a lil bit more in love with each of you every time threats are thrown about over comms.)

✩ His aim is shit. Like, absolutely terrible. Has complained multiple times about how the guns don't have the right heft to them, and that it's all completely unrealistic.

✩ If he goes AFK, it's to head to either you or Gaz, pick you up, sit in your seat, and just watch as you play from his lap. Just rests his chin on your shoulder and wraps his arms around your waist. Doesn't care about the penalty -- would much prefer to embrace his partner.

Until he explains his plan to offer Pierre a massage on Sunday after the race. Maybe he even checks in with you if that's a good idea in the first place? Because as much as he really wants to help his Pierre, he trusts your judgement and if you say no, then he won't do it.

An idea for the void

So, I was thinking, right? I do that from time to time. It’s not always advisable, but it happens.

Anyway, I was thinking about Youtube, and how I watch a lot of it. I probably watch more Youtube than anything else, to be honest. I watch lots of stuff on there, but my favorite thing to watch is usually terrarium builds, followed closely by aquarium/fishkeeping stuff, and after that, I think it’s probably herp stuff—like reptiles, amphibians, that kinda thing.

I watch a ton of this stuff. It started off when I was working night shifts at a shitty hotel a few years ago. It was one of those weird jobs where you’d spend maybe 80% of your time doing jack shit, but then the other 20% of your time was like, blind fucking panic because some idiot was trying to sneak a mastiff to their room through the emergency exit, or because Afro Man is in your hotel, and that’s not really a bad thing, but meeting Afro Man was the absolute last thing you expected. Anyway, it was a shitty hotel with lots of crazy moments, and it turns out that terrarium builds were like my own personal Bob Ross. They just chilled me out immediately. I fell in love.

Then I started actually making the things, and let me tell you, I’m not very good at it, but I love it.

Wait, okay, so back to how I watch a bunch of this on Youtube. I mean it, I watch a lot of it. Enough that  it’s really easy to notice some patterns. So, with fish and reptile youtubers, it feels like there’s a measure of community there, right? These folks will reference each other, bump into each other at conventions, drop in to do a project together. It’s not every video or every creator or anything, but you see it.

Terrarium youtube? Not so much. I’m not sure if it’s a matter of location making it difficult or something else, but other than really rare occasions, each channel sort of exists by itself, in it’s own little walled garden, its own, dare I say, sealed glass container, keeping it isolated from the others like it. Now, each creator is different; they’ve all got their own styles and personalities, their own techniques... but at the end of the day, they’re all doing the same (super rad) thing (that I absolutely love). There’s a lot of shared technique that goes into making this a whole genre of thing, even if they’re all mostly concerned about their own corner of the hobby.

Second... A lot of these videos kind of act like you’ve never seen another one like it. On some level, they’re almost all tutorials. Each one will give you a bit of information about selecting your container, about making your false bottom or drainage layer, about making your own substrate from from a similar blend to what most other terrarium makers use, about choosing your plants and moss, about lighting and watering (or not watering).

That’s great if you’re just dipping your toes into the art form, but if you’re a stressed out, ADHD-addled night owl desperately trying to wring dopamine from videos of jars being stuffed full of dirt and leaves, it’s a little weird to be told how to do this for the first time four or five times in a row.

It’s just kinda weird to me how each channel almost pretends that they’re the only one you watch, and each video pretends it’s the first one you’ve seen.

And so I wondered, like... what if that wasn’t the case?

What if you dispensed with the tutorial? Maybe not entirely; you could leave it in the description, you could put text on screen for people to follow if it is their first time or if they want to compare notes between your video and someone else’s.

It makes sense to me. Videos where people talk into the camera while they’re getting ready for the day or eating huge amounts of food are totally a thing, aren’t they?

I don’t see why you couldn’t do that with a terrarium, other than maybe it would be kind of niche within a niche, but that could be fun. Heck, why not go further? My first idea was to just talk about whatever the playlist was going while the terrarium was being built... That’d be fun, sure, but it’d be a little awkward with copyright and all.

Okay, so don’t do that. Or at least don’t stop there. Just... get weird with it.

So I had originally planned on doing a Danny Phantom retrospective, mostly because I’ve been watching a lot of video essays on YouTube about old media and internet personalities, and Danny Phantom was always one of those shows that I had a complex relationship with. But during my research, a simple question kept popping into my head over and over again. 

What does Butch Hartman actually do? 

He constantly keeps claiming that he created Danny Phantom, and a lot of people do consider Danny Phantom to be Hartman’s best show, but how involved was he? 

I’m not saying Hartman just slapped his name onto a product and took all the credit for himself, as he is credited for writing, storyboarding and directing various episodes. But from all the interviews and clips I’ve seen of him, he doesn’t seem to know that much about the show’s lore or why people like the show to begin with.

For example, the show clearly establishes that there are ghosts who used to be human at one point, but Hartman has always insisted that every ghost you see in the series is a supernatural creature from an alternate dimension. And that his explanation for why some ghosts are more human looking than others is because they wanna be human? Um…..okay. 

Feels odd that Hartman had a problem with the ghosts being spirits of deceased humans but he originally wanted Vlad to be a vampire. 

It’s also pretty interesting how Hartman never wrote any season two episodes, as that season is when the show started to heavily incorporate elements of serialized storytelling into its main narrative. Something that was previously absent from Hartman’s other show, The Fairly Oddparents. 

And yes, I am still annoyed that we never got a legit payoff to the Ring of Rage and Crown of Fire, they were clearly set up as these major plot points that were gonna be important later on, but were completely dropped entirely after Reign Storm. 

Guess now is the perfect time to talk about Steve Marmel and the controversy surrounding him. Long story short, Marmel was a writer who helped develop the series. A lot of the best episodes were written by him and once he left the quality went down the shitter. 

Many people have speculated that he was fired by Hartman/Nickelodeon for wanting the show to go into a more darker direction, while others claim he left due to creative differences. 

None of these rumors have been confirmed by Hartman, Nickelodeon or Marmel. And as such, should be taken with a huge grain of salt. 

Regardless of what you believe, you can’t deny that Marmel wasn’t influential during his time on the show. He really helped flesh out a lot of the characters and lore. 

Say what you will about the Green Bay Packers jokes in Bitter Reunions, but I kinda loved that aspect of Vlad’s character. It was a nice little touch that helped him stand out from your typical Saturday morning cartoon villain. 

And if I’m being perfectly honest, I don’t think Hartman could pull something like The Ultimate Enemy or Reign Storm off on his own, as he’s not that good of a writer. 

Which brings me to season three, now I don’t usually like parroting out the default opinion but, season three of Danny Phantom is just…..really bad. 

I’m not going to go into that much detail about season three, mostly because it’s a topic that’s been covered to death and I really don’t have anything new to bring to the table. But I will say that, if season three does anything well it’s that it showcases just how terrible of a writer Hartman actually is. 

Take for example the episode Urban Jungle, Sam’s eco friendliness is taken up to eleven, to the point where she starts feeling less like a character and more of a caricature. All she does in this episode is complain about how terrible humanity is, get captured and brainwashed by the villain of the week before getting rescued by Danny in the end. 

Oh, and Danny gets ice powers because…..reasons. 

I genuinely do feel bad for all the Danny Phantom fans who want to see a legit continuation or reboot, I came across a ton of amazing fan art and AU stories/webcomics that are a billion times more entertaining than the shit we got in season three. 

But alas, Nickelodeon has made it clear that they aren’t interested in a Danny Phantom revival/reboot, as they seem to only want comedy shows. Plus even if there was some sort of continuation, I doubt fans would support it if Hartman was heavily involved. Considering that he’s spent the last couple of years destroying any good will he had left with animation fans. 

Still, while the show may never get a proper continuation or revival, it will continue to live on in fan media form.

i think when i made the decision to do a rewrite of enouement for stray kids, jisung felt like one of the more obvious options. i considered chris, but settled on han bc. idk im soft for him and had a different idea for chris--

im a hopeless romantic in the end so i think there's something very romantic about the sentiment of "i was always looking for you in every person i dated" tbh. while i don't believe in soulmates much (not in the idea of a soulmate being a single person but multiple people you can be compatible with), i like to think that jisung and reader in this fic were soulmates. it was always going to be each other in the end.

Today was awful. I had a bad dream and woke up in a bad mood. I was mad at everyone and still kind of am. I was also extremely lonely. I did my workout and stuff anyways. I had 57 help me with booking a little and I kept fucking it up. I didn't stream today and my work suffered because of it like usual. I tried hanging out in BR's server and that was alright, I left to do my afternoon work. The request today was private for some reason and then instead of working on my own stuff, I took a break. I figured I'll always tone down Wednesdays because I almost always burn out and fail to do everything today anyways. I did put an hour into my pony avatar and world though, I finished the mane 6 so now I just gotta finish the world.

In the evening I was the most lonely. And bitter. It made it hard to reach out. I tried doing a new yoga video that released and that kinda helped. I joined DV upon his invite and he ranted about his shitty ex for a bit while we watched Initial D. I like him but I tend not to like the activities he's into, or his femboy friends. I left after more people joined and the conversation turned shallow. I wasn't in the mood to talk. I tried to focus on a game or something but I didn't want to do anything. The best thing I did was bring my phone to my bed to watch Twitch while I cried for a bit. I started feeling like everything was my fault and once again realizing the fact that I am a dysfunctional person prone to causing damage around me. I figured there were lots of things I could have done better today if only I had the resolve. I can never tell if I need too much or if I am truly love starved. Taking care of myself is cool and I definitely need to do that better but I honestly see no point in living if I can't be cared for by others every now and then. And not always out of pity or because I had to beg for it. I feel like I try to be extremely attentive to who around me needs assistance but that I go under the radar.

I did a decent job making my thoughts known today because I was hurt in a small way but it was still important to say that because it was amplified by everything else I was feeling. Or maybe I just care a lot and thats okay. When are my feelings valid, I don't know.

My long standing problem is: what am I looking forward to? Right now it feels like more burnout and more lonely days. Why would I have the drive to do anything when every day is a different form of suffering. I know the cure to this is somehow stopping negative simulations about the future and somehow living more in the present. I wish I could just enjoy physical sensations and chill downtime again. I always thought the way to foster that is to feel secure and safe in where I am at. Its easy to enjoy the moment those extremely rare times I feel like I have a future to look forward to, specifically people that make me happy and aren't going to leave me.

I hate myself and my inability to handle everything right now. I feel like a failure.

Well might as well start all entries with how my sleep schedule is, i had an afternoon nap so i might not sleep enough tonight but better than being up at 4am because i tried going to sleep at like 11pm and it went horribly wrong.

I can objectively see why you find it boring honestly, so I won't disagree cause of the type of genre they both went for. Taeyang needs to evolve from this comfort zone he is in with these type of beats and musical production. This song? I mean no harm, armies DO NOT COME FOR ME cause this is a legitimate observation...but Taeyang could have did this song with GD as a GD X YB comeback that's what it feels like and sounds like. The video and production? Flawless, I don't mind it being studio and it's decent, it's great for them pairing up for this when testing the waters as a one time duo. Jimin is just giving me GD vocally and I can easily see GD taking over his parts lyrically although GD has a way of overexaggerating on tracks nearly sounding nasally which I don't like. i.e unused collab he's slapping onto Jimin. Jimin honestly held his own alongside Taeyang, performance wise they both have similar energies and there is a smoother balance than when he is with GD. Taeyang was giving his usual Michael Jackson / Chris Brown style moves, his dancing is good and I kinda forgot that he's good at dancing. I usually think of his voice mostly. TAEYANG SHOULD HAVE CUT HIS HAIR DOWN MILITARY STYLE, GET A BLACK BARBER TO GIVE HIM A SEXY FADE WITH A DESIGN AND IT WOULD HAVE SUITED BETTER. The song to some degree is...shockingly dated because it's really giving the impression audio wise of GOODBOY with GD, remember that song? It feels like a copy, paste and restructuring of that song to me. Like "let's take goodboy but not keep i entirely so loud and rework it for 2023". I don't want to get that implication from him that if he becomes daring in songs it's gonna be that loud clunky type of beat like vibe and goodboy, he should think carefully in the future to show more growth, not just riding the hype wave of what's in. that's what takes separates legends from icons.

ALSO it feels like a HEAVY SAMPLING of Teach me how to dougie. The predominant beat consistent in the song it's just very dougie. Some of you may remember that song and the rest of you may not. Go to youtube and type up teach me how to dougie instrumental and listen to it then listen to some of vibe, you may hear what I'm hearing too. It has strong new jack swing influences with that climax repetitive beat giving bruno mars finesse, bobby brown don't be cruel album sounds etc. It felt like they took teach me how to dougie and that beat from bruno's finesse and slapped into pop as well as the little hollering sounds in the back sounding like new jack swing as well as the old goodboy song. I understand why you say it's "missing soemthing" I believe that's the point and purpose. it's very much showing "We're jumping on this track just to give you all something, just a slapped together collab" they both didn't put more effort or creativity into it. it's just very here it is. The video should have been a solo dance version. No chereo but just them loosely dancing like that then have a club version of them in the club with a storyline.

A lot of people think a song needs to be super hype and loud like this one to be considered not boring but I can def see people saying it's boring cause it does give redundant and nothing new. I personally like it cause it's up my alley.

I agree that 10's ending felt like an ending to the show which meant not giving 11 a chance, he was unintentionally set him up to lose viewers. But 10s ending as a character still makes sense, his wallowing over it, his last line, and his complete angry rant about it not being fair after he thought he escaped were all very in character. He was the most human like doctor in the new series— and I mean tbf he turned into a human twice (John Smith & Meta Crisis). I've heard from fans his idea of regeneration being dying is possibly heavily influenced by how John Smith died, and that makes sense to me.

11ths is great. 11 was Amy's imaginary friend, him hallucinating Amy makes complete sense even without Rory; especially because regeneration energy makes all the Doctors high. I also always thought 11 should have been Amy-Rory-River only, no Clara. I don't mind Clara with 11 at the end of the day, but I still think those 4 should have been a neat box with a nice bow all wrapped up (except River who is a nice surprise among 12). The bit about him getting younger again is a bit odd, but I think the speech coming from the actual actor rather than a make-up aged version of the actor was better. It gives a better goodbye to the audience in my opinion sometimes focusing on the audience especially (not the characters) with changes like this, is okay.

River & 12 being together for 24 years is bad??????? I've never heard that take. I love it so much. The Husbands of River Song is one of the best episodes ever for me. "No it doesn't mean forever, it just means time. But I suppose thats not something you could ever understand." - River. Maybe it's because of how big of a River x Doctor fan I am and other people really disliked it. Alex Kingston's reaction to the scene when watching it was really cute

The bit about Donna being a really good end because Davies understands endings and the Clara thing being stupid because Moffat doesn't know how to end things might probably age badly when the 14th doctor specials comes out, we'll just have to wait and see

Maybe everything said in this video is why I prefer Moffat often, Davies episodes often make me way too damn sad when I just want a break from my shitastic life. I don't want my heart broken at the end of every episode.

Obviously 13 isn't in the video. Hers is short and sweet ("less is more with regeneration" according to the video) I know people kinda hated the "tag you're it" line but it seems entirely in character for her. And gives the next doctor a chance for fans to like (if it had been Ncuti) instead of dislike because he represented her dying. Its the polar opposite of 10s regeneration. Which kinda makes it hilarious that she regenerates into Tennant.

I don't have a feeling one way or another on 12, except the line about his name made no sense considering he tells River. There were good nuggets in it but it did feel like it had unnecessary bits. I can say, the destruction of the TARDIS was Chibnall's idea IIRC. He wanted it destroyed. Steven Moffat even expressed a bit of dislike for that choice (its in an interview I can't find).

9s was good but I don't see how it was SCORES better than all the others as the video explaones. I love the emotions and confusion from Rose. And his last line is absolutely amazing.

The 8th was really great because of the Karn aspect imo.

I think thats all my thoughts? I rarely disagree so heavily with a video like this. Reviews of specific episodes absolutely all the time; but when its talking about something overall like comparing regenerations I usually agree with something but other than the 8th doctor, and Moffat needing to learn to just let characters die, I don't think I agreed with much else.

Oh man, grojband huh (look at previous reblog). I didn't grow up with it or anything like that but back when I was obsessed with western world, including its animation series, I was really into that. Someone also posted the episodes on youtube too making it accessible to me. So I did have a quite a nostalgic feelings over it

There was this really interesting thing I have though. I found out from digging the net that canadian tv show have this stereotype of being varying levels of quality? It's kinda dumb thinking really cause like so is everywhere else in the world including america, so why only canada? just cause the most well known shows from there have mixed reception doesn't mean all shows from there are like that. There's this video I really like about canadian tv shows by someone growing up with it and I can feel the excitement and fondness that even I feel that nostalgic drive, even though I obviously don't grow up in canada

Anyway yeah I was a westaboo 3-4 years ago, I even sold a lot of my manga (which I will choke my past self for that wtf are you doing you idiot) I'll admit that. I guess I was trying to be less of a weeb after knowing that people out there find people like me cringe so I thought maybe I should migrate to other types of media. Which is dumb thinking. But seeing now I think it's... really no different from a lot of animes I watched back then? I really thought stuff like SU or Adventure Time is really very shonen-like? Please don't get triggered if anyone's reading this, I was a hardcore anime fan back then so I can't help but compare.

Back again I guess one thing about western animated shows is that it has a more off beat tone in its comedy? It took me a while to get used to that kind of atmosphere and mood not gonna lie. Yeah I grew up woth sponge bob but back then I was a kid who don't understand anything. While anime has more direct humor, and most of the time likes to reference other medias imo

I'm pretty sure that there are tons of essays out there that highlight the difference between these shows but one thing I do find about the western animated shows are they have this really big emphasis on 1 individual character arc. I feel this with something like Bojack the most it feels really... real which is a very bad description but bear with me. It focuses on a specific theme but in the way that's less melodramatic and just less fantastical at all (even though he's like a horse, but hey that's the point). It's really hard to watch at times but I also can't let my eyes off of that messy life of a talking horse. But then it also gets silly in a very american way, and those two jarring tones that sometimes works sometimes don't are what I tend to get from western animated shows

In anime I would usually say it's still realistic af but not to the point of despairingly, I guess it's brought up in a more subtle way and manifest more in its commentary on societal issues? It is still very real and gets to you but it will also still have a bit fantastical element of it. Like the way they tend to manifest emotions as physical manifestations. Perhaps because it was to show that those mental anguish is real? When it's shown in an understandable form it will be easier to see, especially in place where issues like this irl tend to be dismissed

Yeah they have their difference in themes and ways of storytelling mainly though thanks to cultural difference as well. But they also influence each other, like look at SU many manga and anime references. The Owl House's too. While from anime side the Osamu Tezuka Father of Manga has said he's influenced by a lot of disney animated movies back then.

So my thinking back then that there's this big difference between both and one is better than the other is so dumb. I wish people can just like both or even if they have preference for one, not to put down the other with comparisons. Letting go of that make me to this day enjoy them for what they are.

How I go from thinking over 1 canadian tv show to talking about why I used to have this phase of liking anything west animated tv shows and then talk about the difference I feel on east and western shows is beyond me, man if you read this I'm sorry
