My one hope for Cinderella’s Castle is that the proshot isn’t so over produced like npmd. The npmd proshot is gorgeous visually but completely loses so much of the choreography and staging due to its amount of close ups and cuts. I just want a good view of the staging in each scene that lets me see the choreography well.
#again the npmd pro shot is STUNNING and I really love and respect the effort that went into it#but in my opinion it fell short of being clear about what each scene actually looked like on stage.#like at that point make a movie.#the digital ticket footage of Hatchet Town for example gives a much more clear idea of how each piece of the song fits together#it’s just a simply view of the stage.#close ups are great and are something you can do in a recording that you can’t do live#but it needs to be more balanced. how the actual physical space is used onstage is also important visual info that is part of the story.#cinderella’s castle#nerdy prudes must die#team starkid#the lands that are#hatchetfield#ghost posts from their box

so anyway i saw the little mermaid and it was absolutely incredible. in my opinion it blew the original out of the water AND was superior to all of the other disney live actions
#halle has such an angelic voice (both singing and talking) and is simply stunning#she nailed the disney princess voice#and eric was so cute and charming!!#my favorite thing was how the movie really let them bond and convinced you there was real connection rather than instalove#the progression was amazing. the end was slightly rushed but the build up to it was rewarding enough that that’s okay#and the new music was so good!!#the little mermaid#mine#the way eric was a collector like her was just 🥺🥺#AND GRIMSBY WAS AN ICON?? i loved the little side plot about eric’s adoption. he was a very convincing prince with a good heart

i was on the most random nostalgia kick and rewatched the prince of egypt yesterday and let me just say... that movie is truly one of the greatest animated films of all time.
#it's sooo good#i'm not religious but i enjoyed it from start to finish#i used to be christian (not my fault‚ raised that way) and even though i left the faith a long time ago biblical stories still fascinate me#like they're so interesting when you look at them as simply ancient mythology#and one thing i really appreciate about the prince of egypt is that they don't shove any religious message down your throat#the focus is on moses and ramses's relationship#and... wow. i did not remember it being that deep. i was NOT expecting to get so invested in their tragedy#i really liked the sort of grey area they both fell into and how they weren't just starkly good and evil#like ramses being the way he is because of what his father drilled into him‚ his fear of being the “weak link” and dooming his empire#and ofc moses unleashing the plagues and even allowing ramses's son to die in order to free his people#but i loved how they showed he was torn up about it because yeah! the egyptians were his people too!#and i loved how ramses didn't immediately hate him when the plagues began! he still loved him and saw him as a brother‚ however misguided!#but then moses proved he was willing to do anything for the hebrews' freedom. only then was their relationship beyond saving#this movie made my heart hurt a little. the deteriorating relationship of two brothers at the centre of it all... god#i have so many thoughts and feelings#it's so good. and ofc the animation is stunning. it's definitely a favourite of mine#some things from your childhood hit different when you revisit them as an adult because man i did not grasp all these layers as a kid#text#personal#misc

HOTD is a tragedy. All the characters we see are already dead and buried, and where there's Targaryen's, there's doom. Everyone, from Rhaenyra to Aegon to Larys to Alicent is so complex and nuanced, and it really sucks that people are so consumed by this deeply unserious TB vs. TG campaign.

nobody understands what this little scene from the HI/PD arc ED means to me. suguru ever so carefully touching this snail on a leaf while waiting out in the rain for satoru. he’s so gentle. so respectful. so kind. so reverent. he probably reveres this innocent animal’s life more than most humans he’s met. probably wishes his own kind was nicer to the planet he cohabits with these unassuming little creatures, probably thinks they deserve better than to have to suffer the consequences of humanity’s mistakes without even realizing. there’s a solemn sympathy laced in this gesture, a guilt that he can’t do more for the little guy, to make up for everything humans might have taken from it (from mother earth). and i’m sure the snail’s instinct to recoil from his touch only furthers this notion in suguru’s head. maybe i’m reading into things way too much, but maybe this was some very clever, very subtle foreshadowing on mappa’s part for what was to come of geto’s life story. either way, a beautiful scene that will take a long while to leave my mind
