The Lilia situation at the end of Book 7 is an interesting dilemma. I don’t think the game is going to just kill off Lilia, and the time frame for his death seems undefined (he says he’s leaving now, but we have no idea how long he has left after that- it could be weeks to months to years). I also don’t think Lilia should leave NRC at the end of Book 7, because I think it would be a poor conclusion to his arc. If his arc concludes, as it seems to be leading to, with his realization that he cares about his boys and they care about him and they should stay together, then he shouldn’t leave.

However, I also don’t think thing should be just resolved by Lilia getting his magic back or with his life getting extended, since I think that would undermine Malleus’ arc of needing to learn to accept painful losses. Lilia could stay in Diasomnia as a non-student, but he might need to leave the vice housewarden position, and the realization that he’s another student’s dad might be weird for everyone. So, if Lilia needs to stay nearby but maybe can’t attend school as usual, what should he do?

I think Lilia should join Ramshackle.
