it makes me laugh when I go on twitter or tiktok and see people complaining that alicent and rhaenyra were the only two posters to be released first because it’s just like….people still don’t want to acknowledge that this is THEIR story at the end of the day. everything in this plot revolves around these two women and their relationship with each other. everyone is simply a side player to their show

Apparently blood and cheese was all green propaganda that Alicent spread to make saint Rhaenyra look bad. It was all a misunderstanding, there was no choice between Jaehaerys and Maelor, it was all made up.

Alicent just invented the most evil lie she could muster up to villainize the amazing blacks. What was shown onscreen is the real representation of what transpired.

It's so embarrassing that a writer who is supposed to portray a civil war and keep both sides on equal ground pulls this type of shit. For me the next episode is coming out tomorrow and honestly I have no motivation to watch, absolutely no excitement.

I tried to deny it in the past, but now the writer's bias has become so blatant that my love for the show has taken a hit. Hotd truly is a high budget team black fanfic.

The whole Nettles storyline isn’t happening which sucks cause it was awesome and Sheepstealer was Awesome!

The writers Know that Sheepstealer was awesome and because of that I’m sensing that the dragon that’s killing all of the sheep is probably Sheepstealer who is going to be mounted by Rhaena now for precisely No Fucking Reason!

Is she going to spend weeks earning the dragons trust by feeding him sheep? Chiseling away at his hard demeanor watching him eat day in and day out until he allows her to mount him?

No, of course not because Rhaena doesn’t have that kind of time.

They won’t give us Nettles, and they can’t Not give us Sheepstealer…wtf HOTD writers? Wtf?

My biggest gripe with how HOTD writers depict women is how they’re never allowed to showcase their anger and bitterness at their circumstances in full. We know it’s there, we see Alicent’s frustration about loosing the kingdom’s regency to a unstable nineteen year old, but she’s never allowed to fully express it (the closest we got was her outburst when Aemond lost his eye, and she was made to regret it directly afterwards). Her role in Rhaenyra’s usurpation isn’t born out of a desire to have what she believes is her due after years of withering away and suffering as Viserys’ wife, but as a desire to carry on what she believes to be her husband’s wishes.

When it comes to Rhaenys, since last week I’ve seen a lot of speculation on why she decided to turn back to fight Aemond and Vaghar, because in the show she has no reason to do so. The thing about Rhaenys’ story, at least how I understood it in F&B, is that she always seems to be holding back. It is one thing for her to say to Corlys that she doesn’t resent the fact that she lost the throne to Viserys and another to actually mean it, because if she (allegedly) lost fairly to Viserys, how could she in good conscience initiate a war? How could she inflict that on her whole family? So she holds back. And she doesn’t have to like Rhaenyra, but watching the same thing that happened to her repeat itself must be frustrating. Watching Rhaenyra be expected to give up her crown for the sake of maintaining the peace without her half-brother having the same expectation placed upon him must be painful. So she should want to encourage Rhaenyra to fight for the throne this time, she should want to turn back to fight those greedy, stupid boys playing at war, who could never understand her pain. She should want to show Baela and Rhaena that it is possible to fight back; she might not be able to save them or shield them or get them what she believes they deserve, but at least she can show them that they don’t have to take on their circumstances passively. They can fight back.

Or at least that’s how I would have written Rhaenys, anyways.

I just want to let you know, thanks 😊 for protecting Aemond it means alot to me because yes he is fictional but I grew up in a toxic dysfunctional family and had a manipulating mother who would deny everything you went through....Ewan's Aemond hits every beat of a person fighting for his family but his family denies everything happening around them blindly.

Relatable , absolutely relatable and it's true because, when we go off the books (Where he doesn't burn Aegon) he's still carrying his team on his shoulders and it will take a toll on him so, yes Ewan's Aemond hits every beat like book Aemond. I love the characters but, I hate Ryan condal's shitty plots, he should've just went off the book. Also, I've got a toxic family too get behind me , babes.

Like I'm sorry I was under the impression that all the Velaryon kids had dragons because they were either Rhaenys' children or Rhaenyra's children? And of course, the girls even have the surname, and their mom Laena was half Targ herself. All at least partly Targaryen. Didn't they make a point to say the Velaryons were confined to the seas while the Targaryens were Dragon riders? I feel like we're losing the plot a bit with this family.
