recently i bought a kitchen hutch off of facebook marketplace to make a little hot beverage station with my coffee machine and the twenty boxes of tea no one touches that have been rendering my kitchen cupboard obsolete. got some new ice cube trays for the occasion. i’m not one for iced coffees or teas very often but i thought, i should get some paper straws for my hutch. a nice little addition, a cup of multicoloured straws on the side. that would look so nice. but how much do paper straws cost now? are there many options? i’ll go look it up. so i type paper straws into google, and instead of any results coming up of locally available paper straws, there’s a million articles about trump reversing paper straw mandates to bring back plastic.

Never getting over Fulcrum being a project manager...

Idk why, but something about that is so funny to me. Not just because the title of "project manager" is inherently kinda funny for a Decepticon, but also because-

1. It's vague sounding and hard to explain irl because it technically exists in multiple fields, like healthcare or manufacturing, which surely translates into canon in some way.

2. In canon, it's simultaneously a really mundane, innocuous sounding job, yet it's also a super morally awful position to reside over depending on the context. (*cough* forced colonization and cyberforming *cough*)

And 3. It solidifies the fact that behind all the surface level militaristic work we get with both the Decepticons and Autobots, there's also Cons and Bots with "normal" jobs in both factions.

Like, sure yeah we get scientists and doctors, engineers and programmers, but usually in big important or warfront positions. (For plot reasons, understandably.) But it's also really funny and interesting to think of those that worked background positions, or minor jobs.

Like an Autobot working in their equivalent of an HR department, or a Decepticon who runs one of their outpost's or starship's kitchens.

Just all the pre-war jobs that didn't just disappear with the war, but instead evolved to exist within the factions.

It's particularly funny with the Decepticons though, because it could be a super mundane job or situation, but because it's them, it has to have an air of ~e v i l~ to it, either legitimately and/or merely for the vibes, like Tarn's "performance reviews".

Y'all wanna hear about some inter-office drama?

So when we're not on set, the company I work for is based out of an office building that is also home to a number of other businesses. For the most part these other companies seem pretty nice, and our hallway is just us and a non-profit so it's quiet.

Cut to about six months ago when a marketing company moved in across the hall from us. They have been the biggest source of disruption/entertainment these past few months.

They play music so loud the entire building can hear it, at all hours of the day

From the glimpses I've seen of the interior of their office, the only decorations are a framed photo of the word "hustle" and a single large canvas print of a lion.

For a long time their website was just various stock photos and generic information, except for a long blog post they'd made advocating for using AI to data mine customers in order to better target ads.

They are constantly hiring. Like, I see people going in to interview at least once a week. And they only hire young people, just out of college, who dress like they're auditioning to play a part in Wolf of Wall Street or something. I suspect they are somehow an mlm (of the pyramid scheme variety, not the gay kind), or maybe they're sacrificing these hires to some sort of business demon.

I'm supported on this second theory by the fact that at least once a day they gather and shout these semi-unintelligable chants (again, so loud the whole building can hear). There are multiple, but I caught one of these chants once and they were saying "Last one in the field is the last to make money". As I'm typing this they've been chanting/shouting for the last five minutes straight.

Only a few of them have keys to unlock their doors, so frequently there will be small gaggles of wall-street-wannabes in the hallway waiting to be let in. Unfortunately their attempts to knock of the door go unanswered due to the aforementioned loud music.

As far as I can tell, their actual job is selling 5g internet door-to-door. This involves some sort of mass migration around noon, where they all have to change out of their slim fit suits into polo shirts and slacks, before piling into cars and driving off. They commandeer the only bathrooms on the floor so they can change, making them inaccessible to the rest of the building.

Okay, so, all that to give you a sense of who these guys are. Now, our poor neighbors, the non-profit across the hall, has had to share a wall with them this whole time and has filed a lot of complaints with the building managers. A month ago, the building told the business bros that they had to stop shouting and turn down their music, or they'd revoke the marketing company's lease. The business bros have apparently failed to do that, as I just saw a notice of lease termination on their door and now they have 5 days to move out. However, so far, there has distinct lack of motion towards moving out, and they're making even more noise than usual. So I'm just sitting here with popcorn waiting to see how all this shakes out.

I dunno, I think it would have been fun if Nancy had (begrudgingly) taken Steve to Pennhurst Asylum as her backup, warning him to let her do all the talking no less than five times. Only for the director to step out all, "Steven! Haven't seen you in a dog's age. How's your mother?" Because, see, well-respected in the community Mrs. Harrington is on the board of trustees, and he can King Steve finesse their way in no prob.

joel killing the fireflies is whatever to me as usual his fundamental issue is refusing to explain it to ellie. he could have properly explained his issues with what the fireflies were talking about doing to her at some point, but he chooses to tell a really dumb lie and then never elaborate, and then EXACERBATES the problem by essentially doing the exact same sort of “i’m lying to protect you” bs again. he doesn’t treat her fairly and then acts like he’s the wounded party when she’s mad at him.

I don't check up on them often bc it's not like they have any theory or do anything beyond team up w conservatives but every time I dip into t 3rf spaces it blows my mind how their whole philosophy is "the only thing wrong with the world is there's LESS segregation. Once we fix that everything will be fine forever. I have no other problems I can see that need solving, just the segregation from the people I have decided are Inherently Evil"
