Ok Chicagoan here. I am guffawing my way through the Cubs AU. I don’t think I’ve ever seen my hometown feature in someone else’s fic before and I love it.

Admittedly my partner stopped avidly following the team in 2018, so I haven’t heard that much of how they’ve been doing since, and Wrigleyville was batshit the night of their win in 2016, but…

I say this with all the love in my heart but the Cubs are generally a losing team. That’s just kinda a given. There was over a century between their World Series wins. Even when they’re doing well, there’s a healthy amount of skepticism that they actually won’t screw up at the last minute. So if Anthony is on his way there, the city and all the fans outside of it are about to lose their collective minds, and I cannot wait.

Also, it takes a lot to overcome the Curse of the Billy Goat (yeah this is a thing).

Imagine a lot of confusion from recruiters around Anthony Bridgerton who’s widely regarded as one of Baseball’s best prospects because he’s got offers from a lot of places and it’s an open secret that you can offer him whatever you want: He’s signing with the cubs.

Which seems insane because they haven’t done a lot of winning and he’s got offers from the most successful clubs in MLB. But there’s also the fact that his profile picture on Instagram is a photo of him as a five year old in a cubs jersey being held up by his Dad to stare through the net at Wrigley field.

This was is dream, and it was his father’s dream as well.

And that’s how the cubs ended up drafting Anthony Bridgerton in the first round. It was where he wanted to be and everyone knew it. Did the cubs beg borrow and steal to get a high enough draft pick to be able to nab him? Yeah. But he’s a huge talent and they know that people are going to be loyal to their own. They also know watching him take a bow as he steals third base while laughing? This kid’s going to sell a lot of fucking jerseys

Was rereading the 7 deadly sins au and my mind went, you know what would be funny? Throw in some office rivalry.

Imagine Heaven and Hell being two different offices of one big company, The Universe. The Bridgertons who represent the deadly sins and the spouses who represent the heavenly virtues are rivals competing over who gets the end of the year/quarterly bonus. Score is kept by how many humans they have committing sins/virtues.

As someone who works in the office admin industry and knows the kind of hell it can be. Why would you wish that on my poor precious characters who have done nothing wrong to deserve being stuck in an office competing for who gets the better performance review and bonus. You are evil and I love it.

Actually you know what since I already did an Angels and Demons au today, why don't we make this one a North Pole company au. (You know I really liked Red One. )

I like to think that all of them work in the same building just different companies. Nicelist and Naughtylist, every year the managers crack the whip to get up those numbers and the numbers are actually humans corrupted or reformed during the year. At the end of the year, whichever company did better in the gifts vs coal business, gets a paid vacation and a bonus.

We got Project manager team leads who are Kate and Anthony, obsessing over one upping the competition by whatever means possible even if it means sabotage and playing every dirty trick in the book.

Market Researchers Penelope and Colin reporting on the situation from different parts of the world to see where they need to send more manpower.

In Marketing you have Sophie and Benedict competing against each other over who can make the nice list and the naughty list look more appealing to the fans .

In Finance you have Gareth and Hyacinth, with Gareth externally complaining that Nicelist doesn't have the money! and Hyacinth cooking the books of her company because there's always money. Gareth low key suffers knowing that whatever his competition is doing in Finance Hyacinth would NOT pass an audit

Phillip and Eloise are some form of executive upper management that are frequently stuck in meetings discussing why they need more time, and fighting over unreasonable toy and coal deadlines. They both have some form of truce, in the sense that they both hate their jobs and want to quit, but they do this for the spirit of Christmas. Which for Phillip means that nice numbers need to go up and for Eloise means that naughty numbers need to go up

I think Francesca and Michael are both undercover field agents in whichever city os having the most naughty/nice tie ins of the year. Their job is to manually boost the numbers by spreading the spirit of Christmas nice / naughty all over town. If Francesca is a mall Christmas Elf signing people up to do charity work, Michael will show up at the same mall as some sexy Santa Klaus advertising the opening of a strip club. If Francesca is hosting a Christmas community fair, Michael will host a Holliday party with free booze. You get the gist. And this year their tied 50/50

Simon and Daphne are the corporate spionage side of Research and Development. As such they are pretending to date each other to extract information about the competition. Daphne is insisting that she's being nice to Simon because she wants to and Simon is insisting that he's being naughty because he wants to... Jury is out on what those two are reporting to their bosses

Finally Lucy and Gregory are in HR, Lucy as a decent HR agent, obviously wants to jump off a window with how many HR and OSHA violations get committed by her company every year and she lives stressed out of her mind by employee complaints and is the most valued member of the team. Gregory as the less decent HR agent of naughtylist, has a very cushy job pretending that he doesn't see or know about all the HR and OSHA violations HIS company is deeply into commiting. His job is just to make sure nobody sues. Guess which one of them is up for a promotion?

Problems arise when the numbers on the nice list and the naughty list begin to look... Modified, hacked somehow. And it's a race against time to figure out, which company managed to hack the North Pole mainframe and which company is getting framed.

What is your opinion on Bridgerton?

To put it very simply, without Bridgerton, this blog would not exist.

Long story: I watched Bridgerton in the depths of lockdown. I had become kind of listless; I was comfort re-watching Jane the Virgin and Once Upon a Time. Then I watched it and I remembered from the empire waists that I loved Jane Austen.

I owned all 6 novels, but I had never read Mansfield Park or Northanger Abbey because my 12th grade English teacher said they were weird. I started re-reading Pride & Prejudice, but I knew it too well so I read through the others. I was transfixed by the two unread, NA was so funny! Why hadn't I read it before! I was gripped by MP, the ending had never been spoiled for me and I thought Henry Crawford was the end game. Also, Persuasion, which I had found intolerably boring in Gr 12 was now amazing (except Sir Walter, always loved him).

I started writing a sequel to Pride & Prejudice and my now published novel Prideful & Persuaded. I joined some Jane Austen Facebook groups and started reading the books along with the book club on one of those pages. I basically memorized the novels. I spent most of my evenings writing Jane Austen fan fiction. I found some Jane Austen friends that I still talk to on a regular basis.

So yeah, if Netflix hadn't released a very anachronistic fantasy Regency romance with a very hot male love interest, who knows what I'd even be doing right now.

To actually answer your question: I liked S1 a lot more than S2. I thought that a wedding was too far and girl code denies Kate and Anthony from marrying. You are Lucy Steele at that point. Anyway, I hate Eloise, especially in S2; she's the most annoying pseudo-feminist idiot ever. I like Daphne, I like Duke who is apparently not coming back, I like the funny painting brother even if he's so annoying for complaining about being a trust fund baby. I love the mom (I do not know people's names). I enjoyed all the smut in S1, especially the random against a tree smut that it opened with. I am not a huge fan of the costumes. I have yet to watch Queen Charlotte because I've gotten into Korean dramas recently and that takes up my spare time.

In general, it's smutty, tropey, and hot. What's not to like?

I also have such a soft spot for multiple great loves in one’s lifetime idk I am a sap like that. I’ve seen it in my own family and my in-laws and I just find it so sweet and bittersweet.

I wasn’t sure how I was gonna feel about it after Hazbin but I loved it in a different way

also as soon as his dad showed up I was just like “wait one goddamn second, JAFAR?”

And it was! But I recognized him from the Broadway and then I fucking found out he had basically been Jafar since goddamn 1992???? I had no idea it was the OG Jafar in the Broadway Original Cast recording

I also really love the portrayal of Lust and his relationship with Fizz (I am too lazy to look up the spelling of his name). Just s’cute! And god the panic attack he had…ouch. Lol I really felt him on the thought spirals too. WELCOME TO THE CLUB!

Communion was always the best too because we just got to sing hymns the whole time lol

If I’d stuck with church I’d def be in the choir now because I LOVED IT

One of my fave church memories was when I was a teen and they had a session where everyone got together and just sang favorite hymns

But I mostly stopped going to church because of how fucking toxic the folks at my church were (in addition to all the problematic shit about gender/sex and the rampant Christian hypocrisy etc) but it’s hard to escape church in the south

I drive 5min down one road and pass like 10 churches which is not much of an exaggeration because there is literally like one on every corner down here

Also found out the other day that the denomination I’m part of JUST removed the ban on lgbt preachers??? Didn’t realize we still had one, so that was a bummer, but hey at least they got there in the year of our lord 2024…..

Continuing on the church tangent I’ll never forget the time we had Baptists come to our door when I was in high school to try to share the good word and I told them I was Methodist and they just looked at me in borderline disgust before leaving 💀

Or the time the MORMONS CHASED ME when I was trying to go pick up food for my dog 💀💀💀

I saw them a few stores down and started power walking and they started hustling and I was just like “am I genuinely being chased by Mormons right now???” and I was!

I’ve got a lot of complicated stuff already with Methodism so I’m good on the religion front! Still consider myself Christian but don’t feel the need to harass other people about it! Or to evangelize! Or to actually go to church! But again, I live in the south so church in general is still very much present in the lives of my loved ones and nigh inescapable

Like, if it were anyone else at all they would still follow as the ton commanded and would try to keep Clover sheltered because that was the norm of the era! But he doesn't try to convince her it's 'dangerous' or even imply that she should let it go. He definitely sees her as his equal and that's why their marriage will be very different than other marriages of the ton 🥰

Summary: You break the news to Eloise and Penelope. Anthony is an annoying older brother. Benedict pays someone a surprise visit.

I want to know all your thoughts, feelings, and emotions - even if they aren’t about this fic.

“That is hardly the same! Austen is railing against the patriarchal expectation that marriage is an economic proposition. Elizabeth’s comment about Pemberley’s beauty and that she could have been the mistress of such a large estate is a sarcastic remark that reminds us as readers that she turned down a marriage that would have made her rich, so that when she finally accepts Darcy’s proposal we know that she is marrying him for love,” Eloise, the secret romantic, argues as Penelope Featherington enters the drawing-room in the midst of the two of you bickering.

“Elizabeth’s jest about the beauty of his estate reminds us that even though Elizabeth only agrees to Darcy’s proposal once she falls in love with him, the economic reality of their match is still there, we can not ignore it. Think about the scene where Lady Catherine confronts Elizabeth in the middle of the night. At the end of the book, Elizabeth is rich whether you like it or not. And every character knows that first and foremost, Elizabeth and Darcy’s marriage is an advantageous one for Elizabeth,” You shoot back before turning to where Penelope had just sat down and greeted her.

“Sorry, we got a little carried away,” You apologize as Eloise huffs into her tea with annoyance.

“If I had known we were having a book club meeting today I would have brought my copy,” Penelope replies with a smirk.

“What do you think, Pen?” Eloise asks as she leans forward, towards Penelope, hoping that she might side with her on this particular argument. 

Penelope considers the question for a moment before answering.

“The economic situations of the characters cannot be ignored. I’ll agree with that. But what about the fact that Darcy’s feelings for Elizabeth were never tied to her financial situation?” She poses. “In his first proposal, though rather crudely, he makes a point of telling her that he cares for her in spite of her family’s economic reality. That it should have made their match an impossibility, but that he fell in love with her despite it.”

“But Darcy is rich! He’s incredibly privileged to be in a position where he can marry who he likes with no regard for the continued financial viability of his family,” You scoff. “Most of us do not have that liberty, we are either not men, or not rich, and some of us unfortunate creatures are neither.”

The other two nod, Eloise, looking deeply put out by the fact that she now agrees with you.

You sit up slightly as you realize that this topic has led you to the unfortunate conversation that you were planning to have with the pair today, just a bit sooner than you were prepared for.

“I’m going home at the end of the month,” You tell them quietly.

They both sit up straight and stare at you with wide eyes.

“What?” Penelope asked at the same time that Eloise shouted, “Why?!” 

“My uncle wasn’t a fan of what Lady Whistledown wrote about me. Well, about him in her latest column,” You admit as you look down at your hands in your lap. “So he’s sending me back home.”

“That’s awful,” Eloise replies as Penelope glances down at her own hands, clearly upset.

“We can still write,” You offer. Though you know it’s a poor consolation prize given how close you’d grown to the two since you’d arrived in London. You know it won’t be the same. And that you’d miss them both more than almost anything.

“Are you certain this is nothing that can be done?” Eloise asks, clearly unwilling to let you go without putting up a fight. “What if my mother-”

“No.” You reply quickly with a sad shake of your head. “I have to go home. If I were to stay here, or with someone else, it would only enrage my uncle further. He will withhold funds from my family unless I do as I’m told.”

Eloise opens her mouth to argue further but Penelope shoots her a look from across the table telling her not to push it.

“Due to my expedient departure, I made an appointment with a publisher last week. I gave him a copy of my manuscript. I don’t think that Mr. Matteson will publish the book, but it can’t have hurt to try,” You tell them.

Neither girl responds much to your changing of the subject.

“I’m not gone yet, let's just enjoy these last few weeks together, and then we can be sad,” you push, leaning forward in your seat and reaching out with both hands outstretched, taking one of each of their hands in yours and squeezing tightly.

The pair nod and you sit back, satisfied as Eloise begins her ranting about Pride and Prejudice again, this time with a convoluted emphasis on how it relates to women gaining the vote. 

You spend a pleasant afternoon together before the light begins to wane and you and Penelope need to return to your respective homes for dinner.

Penelope called your name as she descended down the stairs of Bridgerton House behind you.

“Here’s the name of a publisher that might help you,” Penelope says as you turn back to face her. “He will want to publish your work, I’m certain of it.”

Penelope holds out her hand, a piece of paper with a name and address scrawled on it held between her finger tips.

Your brow furrows as you take the piece of paper from her hand. “How-” You start.

“Never mind that,” Penelope says quickly with a dismissive sweep of her hand. “But speak to him. He can help you.”

“You’re a great writer, any publisher would be a fool not to want to publish your work,” She tells you.

You nod and Penelope looks satisfied as she makes her way across the street to her family’s home. Leaving you standing in the middle of the sidewalk, dumbfounded.

Benedict did not know why his brother had ambushed him in the sitting room before dinner. But he didn’t like it. Not one bit. Benedict had hoped that with Anthony happily married, he would finally get off his back. But married life seemed to only make Anthony even more overbearing and fatherly, especially now that Kate was pregnant with the couple’s first child.

“Mother has brought it to my attention that you have been rather surreptitiously spending time with a woman,” Anthony said, rather bluntly as he took a seat in the armchair across from Benedict.

God, he was really cutting right to the chase. Anthony never had been one for pleasantries.

“I want to know what your intentions with this woman are,” Anthony continued. “Mother seems to think it is quite serious.”

“I haven't spent that much time with her,” Benedict replied defensively. “Mother seems to think that every young woman that she likes should marry one of her sons.”

“So it’s just a flirtation? She is a governess after all,” Anthony replies.

Benedict scoffs at his brother’s classist comment. Of course Anthony would take issue with her based on her occupation.

“Miss (Y/L/N) is a perfectly respectable young woman, brother, and I do not appreciate your attempts to meddle in my personal affairs,” Benedict replies coldly. “She comes from a good family, she’s Lord Culpepper’s niece after all.” 

Benedict didn’t know why he was defending her. He liked her well enough, and he was certainly attracted to her. But he didn’t want to marry her, so why didn’t he just tell Anthony that?

Right?

He didn’t know what exactly his feelings for her were. He did know that he wanted to spend more time with her. A feeling that he didn’t see abating any time soon. He liked to listen to her talk. To see her laugh. To watch her with her cousins or his siblings. Just having her around was a pleasant change. It had brought out some new part of Benedict. Being around her. 

Oh.

“Mother told me that her uncle is quite overbearing,” Anthony replied, ignorant to the existential crisis his brother was in the process of having.

“You’re not getting any younger Ben, it might be time for you to settle down,” Anthony continued. “To find a wife.”

“I’m not going to marry her, she’s just so… it would- I-” Benedict rambled. Unable to form a coherent sentence, or thought after his previous revelation. “It wouldn’t make any sense.”

“Love makes people do crazy things, Benedict, I mean, look at me,” Anthony replied with a grin. A grin that usually made Benedict roll his eyes, at the obvious happiness Anthony had found with his wife. But today that grin on his brother’s face only made Benedict inexplicably jealous.

“I’m just telling you. If you wanted to marry her, I think we would all support you.”

Dinner had been uncomfortably quiet. It usually was, but ever since your Uncle had decided to send you home meals had become nearly impossible to sit through. When there were no guests and you were invited to eat with your aunt and uncle there was little to no conversation. A few pointless comments about the food itself, and your aunt trying to pull you into a conversation about the children or an event she’d attended. But you could barely bring yourself to answer her, no matter how hard you tried. When you were around your uncle the ticking clock counting down the time until you were sent home was impossible to ignore. 

After dinner, your uncle remained in the dining room, and your aunt retired to her bedroom early, leaving you to head towards the drawing-room, alone. You took your customary place near the terrace doors and sat by the windows to read and be alone with your thoughts. 

At first, you were certain you had imagined it. But then you heard it again, a voice calling your name from the terrace. 

You glanced out the windows curiously but couldn’t make anything out in the dark, and cracked the door open cautiously.

You peeked around the glass doors and saw a dark figure crowded against the vines crawling up the house.

“Benedict?” You ask quietly as you take in the dark figure standing in front of you. Hardly able to believe that it was actually him. That he was actually here. “What are you doing out here?”

“I wanted to see you,” Benedict replies as if it were obvious before taking a deep breath and taking your hands into his own. 

“Don’t go home. Stay here.”

“We can figure something out,” He continued. “You can stay with my mother and siblings, or someone else. Just don’t let your uncle send you home.”

“Benedict… it’s not that simple. My Uncle. My father… I must turn home,” You reply. “If I don't, my uncle will cut my family off.”

Benedict stares at you. You can see the reflection of the candlelight of the house flicker in his dark brown eyes. 

“What?” He asks, struggling to understand what you’re telling him.

You shake your head. “My uncle is the reason that my family is not destitute. My writing helps keep us comfortable, but he is a powerful man, he supports my family. He could ruin us if he chose to.” 

And you knew that if you didn’t do as he said, that he would.

Benedict knew that you were right, but he also knew that his family was more powerful than Lord Culpepper. That he could help you, help your family. 

“Stay with me, please,” Benedict begs softly.

You stare at him, your mouth agape. This cannot be truly happening. This has to be a dream.

“Why?” You ask carefully, slowly.

“I-I don’t know, I just know that I don’t want you to go, I don’t think I will be able to bear it,” He admits. “So I want you to stay.”

“I wish it were that simple, Benedict, I truly do,” You tell him quietly as you bring your hand up to his cheek and stroke it gently, pulling his gaze to your face.

You both stare at each other sadly as the reality of your situation truly hits both of you. Of course this couldn’t be simple. It would never be easy. Not for someone like you. And not when you cared so deeply for someone like Benedict.

“Benedict,” You say after a moment.

He nods. Not trusting himself to speak, not yet.

“You told me to go after you want, ” You tell him.

So that’s what you do.

You kiss him. 

You pull him down to you, one hand on his face, the other grasping the lapel of his jacket as you guide his mouth down to yours. Some many cliches run through your mind as you take in his kiss. The way his mouth feels against yours is the stuff that poets write of. That great sonnets are inspired by. But then his hands find your hip and the back of your neck and those thoughts are all lost in a moment as your mind goes blissfully blank and your gasp. 

Benedict moans as he deepens the kiss. 

You never want this moment to end. But eventually your body reminds you that you need to breathe and you break away from Benedict slightly and inhale deeply as your mind continues to reel.

Benedict stares at you with a stunned look as his thumb continues to rub small circles against your hip. A movement that sets your body alight, even through the fabric of your dress.

You press your lips to his once again, but only for a moment this time before pulling away again and grinning. 

“Goodnight, Benedict,” You bid him before turning back towards the terrace doors and returning inside. Before you do something truly reckless.

And as he watched your figure disappear back into the house, he knew exactly what he was going to do. After all of the uncertainty that he had felt, everything became perfectly clear.

He was going to marry you.

Consider a Reincarnated Bridgerton AU? Where only one person from each couple remembers their past life. Each of the Bridgerton siblings remembers but none of their spouses do. In fact, Philip and Marina seemingly are happily married, Michael is a fuck boy that doesn’t believe in love, Penelope is engaged, Simon only sees Daphne as a good friend, the little sister of his mate and ignores her advances as he dreams of finding his true love and soulmate. etc.

We need to talk about this au. So here we go

Simon: good friends with Daphne, actually gets along with her better than any other woman he knows. Because she's so friendly and understanding and knows how men work. He's famously single, so he thinks he should just hire Daphne to work for him. That way he wouldn't be so lonely anymore at the office. He's still looking for the one

Kate: a professional polo player. More concerned about paying her genius sister college tuition than interfering in her love life. Still very much pissed off that some older guy is trying to ruin Edwina's college career by asking her out and making her miss school. Anthony knows who Kate is, but anytime he tries asking her out he's met with an ' I don't date fuckbois ' glare and tells him that what he needs is therapy not a date. Anthony doesn't know how to get within a 5 foot radius without offending her.

Sophie: private nurse and single mom of a beautiful son she adores more than life. Lives a nomad life with her toddler, carefree and happy, moving one place to another, she doesn't mind that she can't remember what the father of her son looked like since it was just a drunken hookup at a costume party. But for some reason, Benedict Bridgerton does mind, too bad he's just a guy who hired her to be his mother's live in nurse, and nothing else.

Penelope: happily engaged to Friedrich Prince, she swears he's the love of her life and acts like the perfect wife already. Studying journalism, she Writes smutty bestselling novels secretly under the name Lady Whistledown and doesn't take it well when Colin discovers her books or when he tries to Kiss her. She begs him not to tell Freddie because she loves him. Colin is arguably devastated

Phillip: seemingly happily married his highschool sweetheart Marina who he met in a counseling group for depression recovery. He's a Pediatrician in the same clinic Eloise works at, Proud father of two, been married for 7 years. Eloise is his and his wife's therapist. And it kills her to hear Phillip and Marina both talk about how they're desperately trying to make things work between them because they don't want the children to suffer.

Michael: womanizer bartender with a rule of one night stands only. Keeps pushing his quiet frequent customer/friend Francesca Bridgerton to hook up with more men and even take his cousin out for a ride. He believes in open relationships and polyamory, has tried every form of sex there is, likes to tease Francesca about having a threesome with him and John. But oh well, he might want to sleep with Francesca, but too bad she's into monogamy and Michael was meant to share his sexy self with the world

Gareth: he's the lead guitarist of a band. And writes love songs about all his exes. Happily dating Felicity Featherington, much to Hyacinth's horror. He thinks Hyacinth is a friend of his Grandma who happens to be a fan of his band. And doesn't pay her much attention until she's offers to help him translate a bunch of papers his Italian grandma left for him in her will

Lucy: professional pianist and wife of old money heir Ricky Haselby. Lucy isn't a family person, She married Haselby for his wealth and he also agrees that modern couples don't need the burden of kids to ruin things. She's a Frequent visitor at Gregory's country club and complains that Gregory is her only real friend in London because Hermione is an idiot.. Lucy also likes to buy him outrageous presents hoping he'll agree to be her suggar baby. But Gregory always declines since he knows the thoughtful and loving person that Lucy is really like, underneath her trophy wife persona.

The reincarnated Bridgertons all have to watch as their seemingly happy significant others push them away. But they still don't give up

Foe me it was too much that Eswina actually haf feelings for Anthony and the wedding was organized. I kept thinking- how the heck will they come out of this corner? And tbh they tried, but they didn‘t really manage to convince me that the sister relationship is not permanently tainted by the whole mess. They could have added more scenes of the sisters building a positive dynamic afterwards. (And a little more caress flirting overall). After that monumental conflict I needed more healing.

heyo anon! i feel like i'm in a emotional hangover since friday and i'm in need of therapy asap because this season left me broken. how tf cvd made 8 episodes and gaves only 33 minutes of kate and anthony? this is so disrespectful!!! after watching the whole season i'm sure now that cvd or whoever wrote that scritpt hates anthony and kate and no one can change my mind.

edwina was a litle brat (wihch made me very upset since i've always liked her to the point i played her in a rpg), she was spoield, mean, childish and so frivolous. at the very beginning of the season she says she trusts kate entirely, than kate says "do not get close to viscount bridgerton" but as the season goes on she decides to go against kate judgment and even starts to put her sister in unconfortable situations so she can live her litte girl dreams of playing house. and when the shit hits the fan she blames kate for her own mistake??? like, kate told you since the beginning her opinions about anthony and you went against her advice and now you're blaming kate???? just fuck off, edwina...

we watched a lot o interviews and everyone talked about the love between the sharmas but all i saw was mary and edwina using kate, ignoring kate, being mean to kate. my baby was so alone, she was trying so hard to protect and please mary and edwina. she gave up her life, her dreams to make sure those two spoiled women would live a comfortable life and yet and things get out of control kate was asked to leave the room as she was not part of the family, as she was responsible to the fact anthony loved her and that broke my heart in a million of pieces. i can't stand edwina or mary and i'm happy the bridgertons loved kate and embraced her so quickly (even asked if she was moving in when anthony married edwina 😂

anyways, the time we could see the sisters bonding was spent on edwina talking about the viscount and then edwina giving kate silence treatment. and when we should see anthony and kate talking, knowing more of each other we're seen the featheringtons boring af plot, or will mondrich and his gentleman's club where nothing important to the show happened. and after six episodes putting up with edwina's bullshit i was expecting to be knockout with kathony but no, they gave us five (AMAZING, PERFECT, UNTOUCHABLE) minutes of hea and that's it. i'm so upset and so hurt about how mistreated kathony was in their own season.

favourite flavour(s): Not sure what qualifies as a flavor per se, but my favorite foods are cannoli, chicken tikka masala, champagne, tea, spaghetti carbonara, and lemon Fanta. My favorite restaurants are French, Italian, Korean, and Japanese mostly. If it's found on an afternoon tea tiered stand, I want to put it in my face. And I've been craving a steak bake and a sausage roll from Greggs for years now (don't get me started on Wetherspooons curry club and Nando's).

favourite genre(s): drama and romance, by a long shot. Bonus if historical. I like some fantasy, action-adventure, and comedy on occasion.

favourite music: I like pop/rock, classical, pop/rock goes classical, and soundtracks. I grew up on 50s and 60s music as a kid and my more influential music years (teens through college) would be anywhere from the late 90s to the mid-2010s or so. My SiriusXM radio is pretty much constantly drifting between the 80s all the way up to the 2010s, decades-wise.

favourite movie: My favorite movie of all time is Dead Poets Society. Otherwise, I love: Shakespeare in Love, Good Will Hunting, Love, Actually, and a variety of historical dramas mostly. As far as animated films go, I have a soft spot for Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, and Howl's Moving Castle.

favourite series: This question is mean and I don't like it. But I'll try. TV: Downton Abbey, Endeavour, Outlander, The Great, Bridgerton. Anime: Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Lupin III, Zeta Gundam. Video Games: Danganronpa, Zero Escape, Umineko, Code: Realize. currently reading:  From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout and it's annoying me SO. MUCH. It's what I do to escape from work stress, and instead I'm getting 'slow plot and annoying main character' stress instead. After this I'm taking a break from this series and trying Kingdom of the Wicked instead by Kerri Maniscalco. If that doesn't go over well, I'll finally dip into Scarlett St. Clair and Leigh Bardugo (so I can finally watch Shadow and Bone on Netflix), or The Moonflower Murders by Anthony Horowitz. Murder mystery fans, do not sleep on Anthony Horowitz: he is a fantastic writer!

currently watching: Miss Scarlet and the Duke Season 3, Vienna Blood Season 3, Marie Antoinette, and probably Tokyo Revengers Season 2 soon. I need to catch up on the new Urusei Yatsura and the most recent Lupin III anime, too.

currently working on: de-stressing from a horrible day at work while regaining my patience for one more terrible day at work tomorrow, waiting for French seasonal clothing sales to get posted, charging my kindle so I can curl up with it, eyeing a soothing candle to light. HC idea request (I have so many, I’m so sorry 😅) - but what social media platforms are the favourites of the Bridgertons & their spouses (like I’m guessing Anthony likes Twitter to stay informed on things, Violet is absolutely a Facebook mom, Hyacinth is TikTok famous)

Don’t apologise! I love sharing my head canons and I don’t get asked very often and I practically begged for them!!

Violet has Facebook and only Facebook. She refuses to get anything else. She didn’t want to get it but when Colin started to travel she realised it was a good place to keep an eye on all her kids, and when Agatha Danbury and Charlotte Mecklenberg told her about it she was all over it. She uses it to keep up to date with everything and occasionally embarrassing her kids with videos or photos of them as babies. The video of AB and C singing Elvis’ ‘'Can't help but fall in love” got over a million views. Hyacinth is still smarting over it.

Anthony and Kate - Anthony uses twitter but rarely tweets. They both have Facebook but barely use it now, Kate used it more in University but now it’s literally a means to keep up with the family. Kate has Instagram and so does Newton. It bugs Anthony but he does find it very cute when Kate is excited and posting about Newton.

Benedict and Sophie - Benedict is all over Social Media as it’s the best place to advertise his art and he is always gushing over his girlfriend. It took Sophie ages to be comfortable with Social Media. She only got a Facebook after Eloise and Hyacinth made her own. She does a lot of charity work there but Benedict films Sophie when she is cooking, he makes an instagram for her which is basically just filled with photos of her cooking, then when she’s pregnant. Sophie lets him do it because he is so happy and it is part of his job after all.

Colin and Penelope - Colin has a v-log and is all over social media. He used to blog all his travels. He and Penelope like to do tiktok challenges together, they do reviews of places they’ve been, food they’ve tried. Colin did one about Sophie’s Sunday dinner before a charity auction, the views on it meant that when her dinner was auctioned off she raised four times the target for the evening just on her meal alone. When he’s back in the UK permanently he just reviews everything and anything he can. Penelope does a reading event with Eloise and Edwina, a Youtube book club where they read books and talk about them.

Daphne and Simon- Simon hates all form of social media and actively stays off it. He doesn’t see the point but Daphne, she is always on Facebook, she has instagrams for the kids, she is forever making him take photos with the snap chat filters and plastering their life on Social Media. She is careful though and doesn’t have a public profile, she once had someone (Berbrooke!) try and stalk her and so she went private and she feels better for it.

Eloise and Phillip - Eloise does the book club, she is on Facebook and does have some videos on there from when she was at marches when in Uni but after she got in trouble after posting a very long and public rant about a politician which she had to delete or face legal action she is more careful. Phillip doesn’t really do Social Media but he does occasionally join in the book club with Edwina’s boyfriend who is his work colleague.

Fran and Michael - Fran had to ban Michael from posting photos of himself on Instagram and Facebook, and then of her, because they were borderline inappropriate and belonged more on Only Fans rather than Facebook but they do a lot of advertising of Kilmartin Spirits on Social Media and host events and live tastings and events. One memorable Michael got Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Simon, Phillip and Richard (Edwina’s boyfriend) very drunk on Kilmartin Whiskey… all the men were in the dog house the next day, with not only their wives and girlfriends but Violet as well…

Gregory and Lucy - Gregory and Lucy compete with Gareth and Hyacinth on Tiktok videos. Greg is a bit of a gamer and streams him playing his games and makes a bit of money off it. He had a good lot of followers. Lucy starts to work with Sophie with the charity and with the fashion and uses her social media to show off her own designs and the things that she’s wearing.

Hyacinth and Gareth - Gareth uses his Social Media to post his tattoos and he does the Tiktok stuff with Hyacinth. He is usually on with Gregory streaming their Call of Duty games. Hyacinth drives her family insane with her tiktok challenges. Anthony refuses to partake at first but when Hyacinth gives him the puppy dog eyes he gives in. Benedict only takes part if Sophie is, Colin and Greg thrive in it. Eloise and Francesca do it to keep her quiet and Daphne tries her best but most of the time she’s rubbish at it. She is forever posting things on Instagram and her Facebook but as she moves into Politics as she gets older, she was sure she would live to regret it but when the videos surfaced and her main rival tried to shame her for it, it only made her more popular and she won by a landslide.. She does a tiktok video in celebration.
