13.Wonwoo – looks scary. I also have a rbf so imagine us together omg. Everyone would think we’re vampires. No one would want to be friends with us so we’d only have each other.

12.Woozi – I feel like I know nothing about him :-( He’s an amazing musician, and does come off as a little tiny bit mischievous. I feel like Woozi is the type of guy I have every class with but then we graduate never saying a word to each other.

11. Jun – I think Jun is funny as hell but he’s so quiet. I’d want to be his friend but I wouldn’t know how to approach him. Everyone loves him tho so he has his pick of friends and it does not include me LMAO

10. Jeonghan – (this one kind of doesn't make sense bc he should be higher on the list,, but also?? i'm the one who made this list so fite me) but I think that me and him are pretty similar. We both have a side that’s devious and wants to create havoc but we’re also the mom friend that takes care of everyone and with that I feel like we’d butt heads/ be the designated parents which is EW I am 20 years old,, I'm no one's mommy YUCK.

9. Joshua – he’s also quiet but I know he has a good sense of humour!!!! Hypes up my bad ideas bc he’s not involved -- but he will be giving me a thumbs up in the sidelines. I feel like he’s the type to make me text the guy I have a crush on “Just do it. What do you have to lose?” UM my dignity??? Tf Josh.

8.DK – The human version of a “pick-me-up” He is so “no thoughts, head empty” and I am too. Let’s go cloud watching !!!!!!!!! Let’s pick flowers !!!! A good friend to text on a bad day bc he will literally tell you the most embarrassing thing that happened to him, and even though you’ve heard it before it’ll still make you laugh.

7. The8 – simple, really. He likes art and I love art. He likes fashion, I like fashion. I feel like we could talk shit together LMAO. He has the most specific roasts but they’re always on point. I need someone who’s a little bit mean in my life <3

6. Mingyu – I know I could bully him jokingly and he’d take it (bc he knows I’m joking) but it wouldn’t stop him from pouting a bit. I feel like he’d be scared of me at first LMAO. We both share the hobby of photography so my ideal day out with him is just wandering around with cameras and taking pics of things we think are beautiful. Also forcing each other to pose in front of a dirty brick wall bc “IT LOOKS COOL, TRUST ME.” “WAIT I DON’T KNOW HOW TO POSE THO” and then he’d literally have to mold me into a good pose bc I am Play-doh

5. Vernon – The calm to my crazy, convinces me not to beat someone’s ass. Walks into my room to say nothing else but “Spaghetti” and then leaves quietly. Doesn’t talk to me for 5 months but will send me a meme at 5am bc it reminded him of an inside joke we had. Live-texts his emotions to me while watching tv shows, and shares new conspiracy theories with me. He’s a little bit too chill, I need someone ready to fuck shit up.

4. S Coups – is reliable and gives good advice bc he’s also a ball of anxiety. Nags me to do the right thing. Messes with me a lot. Would stay on the phone with me if I was home alone and told him I heard a noise. Says “Calm down there’s no one there.” BUT he’d also say shit like “check under your bed”

3. Seungkwan– I feel like we’re just as annoying as each other. He has the biggest heart and is super encouraging and thoughtful. Half the time we’re joking around, and the other half we’re fighting. Very much love-hate. Capricorns and virgos are a superior duo. I said it.

2. Hoshi– all round good vibes. Chaos and Loudness matched. Doesn’t always have to be around a lot of people bc he creates the fun when it’s just us two. The kind of friend I practice flirting on and everyone’s like ??? “You’re in love with him” no bro I’m just bored… we just do this kind of shit and he is IMMUNE to my lovey antics by now.

1.Dino– We bully each other a lot but we also have each other’s backs. Definitely not ride or dies tho bc we will tell each other when the other fucked up. We are sarcastic dumb dumbs and that’s why we like each other. I feel like he would only tell me how much he cares about me on my birthday.

13. mingyu – i literally don’t know what i would say to mingyu. “tall man” or “what up big boy.” i would be scared of him until someone taught me how not to be. like i gotta hang out with him in a group setting for three months straight until i can say hi to him when i enter a room. if i saw him i would simply just Not See Him.

12. wonwoo – like mingyu i don’t know if i’d have anything to say to him. him and mingyu both have popular high school boy personalities and that scares me.

11. josh – besides being californian, i don’t know if we’d have anything to talk about outside of in n out and traffic. he’s too pretty for me.

10. The8 – i feel like we’ve been over this for me. he’s too intellectual and polite i wouldn’t have much to say to him. but i feel like we could talk good shit about other people.

9. jun – i think i get along well with people with quiet funny personalities. like the kind where you don’t have to necessarily say anything but look at them and they’re telling you what they’re thinking. he knows that i know. so he kept reacting and looking at me. i think it’d take a while to develop a friendship though.

8. jeonghan – i wanna cause chaos with jeonghan. i want to do lots of things with jeonghan i feel like he would give me piggyback rides while sliding with his socks on the floor. he would tease me and i would be offended for five minutes while he pretends to tell me he’s sorry (he’s not).

7. dino – dino and i would be like twins building a sandcastle on the beach. that’s our vibe. like the kids you meet on vacation and play pirates with at the pool. relegated to the kids table kind of vibe.

6. scoups – he’s like the type to play catch with the stuffed animal in the room while we sit on the floor and chat. like he just arrived and is asking me about my day and picks it up from my bed and we throw it around while talking.

5. seungkwan – i think seungkwan and i could sit and talk outside on the patio when the stars are bright. like we could sit outside and stare out at the stars while i talk about my biggest dreams and don’t even need to see him to know that he thinks the world of me

4. hoshi – i see a lot of face masks. hoshi teaches me how to dance while they rest on our faces, but they keep sliding off because we’re laughing too hard. he has immaculate vibes, like the type to say “here for a good time not for a long time” but it’s an absolute lie because he’s there for both.

3. woozi – although i like to joke that he’s an evil little man, i think we could talk a lot about music and he would be very happy to teach me what he knows, and we’d spend a lot of time developing ideas and growing together.

2. vernon – he has the personality of my irl best friend, like a slightly chaotic aquarius who is horrendously hard to reach like 99% of the time. he’s the kind of guy who would try to make dinner but end up fucking it up so horribly that when i come in it’s like smoky and awful and the fire alarm is going off, so i have to air out the apartment and go get takeout and bring it home to my burned smelling apartment and eat it on the floor of the living room while binge watching a new netflix show.

Seventeen reacting to you saying ‘I love you’ | Seventeen AU

Hello my darlings! Soooooo, I’ve been working on this since March..2020, am I right? lol 

S. Coups: To be honest, it would be difficult to keep your love a secret from Coups with 12 crack heads running around 24/7. You learned very quick that word spreads like wild fire around the dorms, but you got caught when you were talking to the youngins about where you saw you and Coups. You got blushy when the word “love” was dropped, and they all freaked out, leaving you dead because they ran to Coups saying that you loved him. Of course, the youngins were right- and Coups of course loved you back!

Jeonghan: Okay, this is adorable. You two would cook and bake together, it would be a big stress reliever. One evening while Han would be at work, you decided to bake a cake to try out your piping skills. When you got the cake baked, you couldn’t decide how to decorate it-when you remembered your bubbling feeling for your boyfriend. You piped I love you on the cake, and when Jeonghan came home, he was so ecstatic and showering you in kisses. It was also the first cake that never got ate- Jeonghan admired it as long as he could. 

Joshua: The first time you said I love you would be around the five month mark in your relationship. You’d be over at his place(be the dorm or his own little apartment, use your imagination) and you two would be playing the switch on the TV. You two are quite the competitive couple when it comes to the switch. So after a particular close match/race, you’d say the magic words after a giggle fit. Jun: Okay, so we have another anniversary scenario! You and Jun would have a cute little game to where you would show each other how much you pay attention to one another. This game becomes very important around your first anniversary because you’re competitive and you wanna win. You decide to bring Jun his favorite food for lunch with a little card that would say, “I love you more than you love (insert food item).” And as you guessed it, you won the game! 

Wonwoo: Okay, a little dorky and a sprinkle of angsty, but a happy ending trust me! As you’re learning things about one another, you both are adjusting to how you handle stress while around each other. When work get’s stressful for you, you shut down and it effects your mood goes downhill fast. Wonwoo of course wants to be there for you, so when you don’t open up, he gets a little defensive and you tell him that you love him in a screaming fit, but all becomes quiet when you said it, except for his I love you back. 

Woozi: Okay so you can tell how much Jihoon loves you by the amount of time he allows you to pull him out of his studio. You convince him to leave the studio for a night for a self-care night, and not only does Jihoon give you no objections, he does every suggestion you have! Such as some essential oil therapy, a cute little mask- whatever you want. Then as if the puzzle was complete, you’d tell Jihoon that you loved him and it was the sweetest moment ever!

Dokyeom: You two would be so nervous about saying I love you to each other, six months into the relationship, no one had said anything! You both would be super paranoid, but Seokie would be more paranoid than you. He would be really scared that he wasn’t being good enough for you, so he would start acting different and not himself. You eventually broke his case and when he confessed, you replied with “of course I love you, you silly boy.” 

Mingyu: You two would be friends for a while with sparks flying since day one. As you realized that you loved Gyu, you decided to take the reins like a bad ass and show Mingyu how you felt(go you!). You decided to recreate the scene where you both met- the place where you fell in love with him. Gyu would love the idea of going to the place where you first met, but once you explained why you’re doing it, Gyu would be hit with this truck of emotions and he would say I love you back with a passionate kiss to follow~

Minghao: Okay so a moment of content and relaxation would produce the golden moment. As you and Minghao would be laying together listening to the birds out the window, you’d give his chest the most tender kiss, waiting a few seconds later to say I love you. Silence would fall and you almost freaked out, but Minghao didn’t say anything at first. But he wrapped his arms around you extra tight, gave you a tender kiss on the head with a quiet, “I love you too.” 

Seungkwan: Sometimes insecurities get the best of us- you and your boyfriend are guilty of that. Sometimes your boyfriend would be worried that his sometimes flamboyant and extroverted personality and he’d kinda shut down. Of course, when he needs you most, you’re right there to give him the pep talk he needs. AS you would be giving him a pep talk he really needed, you would slip out the phrase, “those are the things I love about you.” Needless to say, Seungkwan never had an insecurity like that ever again. (: 

Vernon: Okay so, I think you two would take more of a creative approach to saying I love you rather than actually saying it. It wouldn’t be until your one year anniversary that you would drop the actual I love you bomb. When it came time to be your one year, you made a whole set up of different things you love about Hansol, even bringing tears to his eyes. It’s super sweet, and the whole surprise ends with the simple teary-eyed and smiley, “I love you.” 

Dino: Last but not least, our little Chan! To be honest, I think a good old fashioned walk home would do it. You both lived in the city, and Chan is such a gentleman that he would never let you walk home alone after a date. Which btw, Chan walks you to your door, not just to the building. When you reach your door and Chan has given you the 100th compliment of the night, you giggle and slip out that you love him and how he makes you feel. He’d be such a deer in the headlights, but he would stay over that night and you’d cuddle all night with movies.

Sasuke was at work when he heard two familiar voices calling his name and he looks up from his case files at Tobi and Obito running towards him and he quickly shuts the file with the murder case pictures before getting up and having Tobi jump towards him and catch him while Obito hugs him around his waist and he is like, “Oh boys, what are you two doing here?” 

“We were with mom and she said you worked here and we wanted to see you!” Obito says getting a pat on the head as Sasuke looks at Mei walkin in and saying, “they were being so rowdy today. It was easier to give in.” 

“It is fine. I wasn’t planning on staying in the precinct much longer.” He says moving Tobi’s pumpkin mask aside to give him a kiss on the cheek before putting him down on the ground. Mei asked if he could quickly talk to Sasuke to ask him if it was fine to look after the kids a few hours so she could go to a conference call. So they walked a little away from the children to talk in private and Tobi was sitting on Sasuke’s chair as Obito was sitting on Sasuke’s desk, slowly reaching for the case file, only to have it snatched from him before he could even see the blood filled horror pictures 

“Aah the famous Uchiha nephews,” Tobirama says as he sits down, putting the file in his drawer 

“You’re the man we beat up for hurting our uncle!” 

“They did what?” Kakashi asks as he walks by Tobirama’s and Sasuke’s desk. 

“Only because they’re children and my killing children days are over.” He looks at Tobi, “For now.”

“What did they do, bite you?” Kakashi asks Tobirama. 

“Yes one bit my leg...Like a dog.” 

Tobi looks at his brother and Obito goes, “You’re mean.” 

“You gonna tell your uncle on me?” He asks, sitting back.

 “Is he going to punish us?” Kakashi jokes, “Sit in the corner and no wifi for a week. The horror.” 

“He doesn’t need to because he taught me how to kick your butt.” 

“He did?” Tobirama raised an eyebrow

“Yes!” 

“Proof it, punch him. Come on punch him, don’t be shy.” Kakashi says pointing at Tobirama who is not even protesting. Obito goes ahead and punched Tobirama in the shoulder only for Tobirama to go, “If this is how Sasuke taught you to throw a punch, you’re done for.” 

“Yeah, you really need to throw your shoulder more in it.” Kakashi says. 

“Also better stay low, so they can’t block you.” Tobirama says. 

“Like put your weight in there and go for the balls.” Kakashi adds. 

“or the throat if you can reach it. You really need to element of surprise there if you’re as slow as you are.”

“Yeah makes them feel like they’re choking, but you can always just you know pop their eyes.” Kakashi adds.

“The hell!” interrupts them before they could go on. “He is ten years old, what do you two even think you’re doing!” Sasuke  grabs both Kakashi and Tobirama by the collar. 

“Just teaching the kid to throw a decent punch,” Kakashi says. 

“Yeah, your game is weak.” 

“He’s is a child! What do you expect? That I beat him up so he learns where to hit, leave him in a room with a wild animal or drop him in a forest to vend for himself!?” 

“Yes,” Kakashi says. “I learned it that way. Just me and a forest filled with kids trying to not be murdered by a bunch of blood thirsty criminals.” 

“For me it really worked when they punched my little brother to demonstrate it and every time I failed, they would demonstrate it on his face again. It haunts my dreams, but I throw a good punch now.” 

Obito hugs his uncle’s side. Tobi is hiding under the desk. 

“Boo-” Sasuke covers Obito’s ears, “fucking”  he released Obito’s ear again, “Hoo. Don’t make your traumas my nephews. He is ten and the other is like six! They both still eat from the kids menu.” 

“I eat sometimes from the kids menu.” Tobirama looks at Kakashi, “They have the dino nuggets, I like them.” 

“preach.” 

“I’m going home. Obito, get your little brother from under the desk. Your mother is going to pick you up at my place at nine, so your bedtimes is moved up.” 

“Yeah!” Obito tries to get his little brother. 

“What about you, how did you learn to throw a punch?” Kakashi asks as Sasuke grabs his keys. 

“Hmm...My dad.” Sasuke says, “and it came in handy when Danzo locked me up in a cage with a to be graduated kid. That is where I learned how to strangle someone with my legs. I thought he was dead, but turns out he was passed out. Either way I got out of the cage and my ranking went up pretty quickly. I went from number hundred to like five in the school.” 

“I remember that, you know the kid died in the emergency wing, right?” Tobirama says.

“I do now.” Sasuke says, “Obito, Tobi, grab your stuff we’re leaving.” 

He looks around him not seeing the kids, he kneels down to look under the desk where they are both hiding.  

“We wanna stay here!” Obito says, “Y’all scaring us!” 

“Get out from under there.” Sasuke says. 

“No, you’re going to beat me up and make Obito watch!” Tobi says. 

“I’m not...” Sasuke looks up to Tobirama, “Look what you’ve done.” 

“They’re kids, how much chloroform do you really need.” 

“I am not using chloroform on my nephews!” Sasuke looks back down, “I am serious you two, if you don’t get out from under there I am going to drag you out from under there!” 

“If you touch us we’re going to tell uncle Naruto.” Tobi says and Sasuke narrows his eyes like...Since when have these children become so smart. 

“Fine, no ice cream!” 

“We don’t want your low fat Ben and Jerry yoghurt ice cream!” 

“...Low fat?” Tobirama asks, “Is this because of the air vent.” 

“No!” Sasuke says.

“Can I help?” Kakashi asks. 

“What are you going to do, set them on fire?” Sasuke asks. 

“Hey kids, who wants some candy!?” Kakashi says pulling two lollipops from his pocket. 

“Me, me, me ,me!” Obito and Tobi crawl from under the desk and Sasuke looks at Kakashi like, “what sorcery is this?” 

Tobirama asks Kakashi if he just keeps candy around him and if they should be concerned.

What are we?

Summary: (fluff, slight angst) Typical friends-to-strangers-to-lovers AU, where Dino used to be your best friend till he leaves your hometown to be an idol.

To most of the world, Dino was known as an international idol. The maknae of one of the most popular boy bands in Korea, and although he was well over the age of twenty, it didn’t stop fans from constantly calling him the ‘baby’ of Seventeen. At such a young age, he was already being called a dance icon, and loved by many due to his cheerful personality.

To you however, he was known as Lee Chan, the five-year-old boy from Iksan who peed his pants on the first day of kindergarten. He was so nervous about meeting new children, he didn’t last 5 minutes before having a complete meltdown over the state of his pants. You thought that new kid was really weird, but you kinda felt bad for him because peeing in your pants in front of everyone was just embarrassing. So when he was all cleaned up, you decided to make the effort to go and say hi first to that poor boy.

“Hello! My name is Y/N! Don’t worry about that little accident you caused, many of the kids here do it from time to time. You wanna play with me?” Chan gave you a slight smile, seemingly grateful he had someone to talk to, before the both of you headed towards the sandpit to spend the rest of lunch together.

“Don’t be too sad when I’m gone okay? I know you’ll be alright. We’ll always keep in touch, I’m not going to lose my best friend.” With one last hug, he turned around and left.

That was 7 years ago. Chan successfully debuted in Seventeen, and they’ve been gaining huge popularity over the last 5 years.

Your friendship? That wasn’t as pleasant. When he first left, everything seemed like it would work out at first. You two were constantly messaging each other and video calling through the night. Sometimes you felt like he never left. Then his training got harder and more schedules had to be attended, you also started focusing on your studies and work. The calls were still there, but they were less frequent and lacked enthusiasm. It was like as though you two had moved on from the friendship but were only still talking to each other just for the sake of talking. Then after awhile, his touring schedule just got too hectic for you, and the calls just stopped.

Not that you minded, or so you told yourself, he was still a friend you messaged whenever he was in your hometown. You’ve met up occasionally in the last few years, each meetup more awkward than the last. Meanwhile your photography business was slowly taking off, allowing you to finally expand into Seoul. Your first assignment was to tag along a boy group (sigh.) and take some natural shots of the members to make them feel more relatable to their fans. (double sigh.) You rolled your eyes, since that whole ‘being an idol’ stole your best friend, you haven’t been quite a big fan of k-pop in general. But this could be you big break, as the group could get you the exposure you badly needed. Without looking at the details out of fear you may back out, you agreed and started packing for Seoul.

“Okay I’ll just take you out to meet the boys right now and then you can start to introduce yourself. I need them to be comfortable with you so much so that they won’t act weirdly whenever you bring out the camera.” Nodding, you followed the manager into the next room.

“Hello, we are Seventeen! Nice to meet you!” You couldn’t believe your luck, you had to be with Chan’s, or Dino as he went by now, group for hours everyday taking pictures of them? Trying to mask your annoyance, you gave a small smile.

“Hi everyone, I’m Y/N. Hope to be able to work well together.” While you and Chan were still good friends, he had introduced you to all the members, so you had a pretty good gauge on who’s who. As they all left to go eat lunch, the person you’ve been avoiding eye contact with the entire time stayed behind, much to your dismay.

“Y/N? I’m so happy to see you. I know we sort of stopped talking awhile back but, I’m hoping we could hang out more now? You’ve never stopped being my best friend even after all these years.” Hearing him say that was heart wrenching, because you did spend a few nights crying over how he replaced you with 12 new best friends. But there was no way he was seeing your vulnerability after 7 years.

“Oh really, because to me it seems like you made 12 new ones, Dino.” Leaving him with that curt reply, you knew calling him by his stage name was extra hurtful, but you had to show him how much his departure hurt you.

Over the next few days, Chan tried desperately hard to talk to you, which you tolerated politely but always tried to find a way to end the conversation. You knew he was sorry, because an apology was always the first part of his sentence, and after awhile you kind of forgave him. You did miss hanging out with him a lot.

So you started to accept his invitations to go see a movie, or watch him practice his dances, and even went out with him to eat on a few occasions. However the meetups were starting to feel less like a ‘friend hangout’ and more like ‘dates’, and since y’all were 13 when he left, this was new, uncharted territory.

Your talks seemed more intimate, and your heart ached whenever he talked about his pains and struggles to become the idol he was today. He never tried to tell you this when you talked, because he knew you would try to make it an excuse for him to come home.

“I missed you badly enough that if you’d actually suggested it, I would have gone home immediately.” That made your heart sort of skip a beat, and your confused feelings were even more confused when he lightly brushed your hand. However, Chan seemed to pay no attention to what his simple action was doing to you, and continued talking in his lighthearted manner.

Since that day, you weren’t sure if it was accidental or not, but Chan kept finding new ways to gently brush your arms, giving you more and more butterflies each time. He seemed to be ignorant of his behaviour though, but it was clear he valued your closeness, as he continued to share secrets with you that you were sure he never told his members. And that made you so happy, that even though he may have found a new family with the guys, you still always came first. However you knew your growing feelings for him were dangerous, you needed to clarify your relationship with him before your heart gets broken if he didn’t feel the same way.

“Chan, could I speak to you for a moment?” You hesitantly asked as the boys were viewing the photos you’ve taken the past week.

“Yeah sure! Y/N these photos are amazing, I’ve always known your talent would be noticed one day. I’m so crazy proud of you.”

“Thanks Chan. Listen, I know this may seem quite sudden and random, but I really need to know this: What are we?” Chan’s face slowly lost its smile when he knew you wanted to have a serious conversation.

“What do you mean? Of course we’re best friends.” You could feel your heart shatter into pieces. “Unless...you want to be more than that?”

You couldn’t believe your ears, Chan felt the same way too? Maybe he wasn’t that oblivious after all? Chan saw your widening eyes and sheepishly grinned,

“I thought you would have caught on a lot faster. And your reactions were so small I didn’t know if you actually felt the same way or not. But I was too much of a coward to say it to you directly, I didn’t want to risk destroying our friendship after I just got you back. I guess even after all these years you’re always the one who dared to approach first.” Chan paused, taking a deep breath. “What I’m saying Y/N, is will you go out with me and make me the happiest person alive?”

You didn’t need to answer, your best friend knew you inside out. So when you approached him, he wrapped his arms around you, causing you both to let out a sigh you didn’t know you were even holding. You looked up from his chest, staring into the pair of eyes you knew so well. No words were exchanged as you both closed the gap, your first kiss just as sweet and perfect as the boy you were kissing.

- Chan doesn’t know what love is.

He knows how to make love – to create it out of nothing but magic. He knows how to force love, to manipulate minds into feeling something that isn’t there. He knows that it exists, that it’s a powerful force, but he doesn’t know what love is.

At least he doesn’t, until he meets Jeon Wonwoo.

- Jeon Wonwoo is a scrawny thing, at first. With large glasses and a larger sweater, he stumbles into Chan’s teashop. The friendly little bell jingles, the tourists who wandered into Chan’s shop turning and eyeing the newcomer disinterestedly before returning to their conversation.

Chan watches the stranger look around his humble tea emporium confusedly, nervously fiddling with his glasses. He’s not classically handsome, Chan thinks, although he supposes there’s something appealing about that sharp jawline and soft sweater.

He plasters on a smile and glides towards the lost mortal, his hanbok sleeves fluttering slightly in an absent wind. “Welcome to Lee’s Tea Emporium,” he chirps. “Table for one?”

The mortal blinks, lips pursing. “I… don’t know how I got here,” he says sheepishly. Too sharp eyes scrutinise Chan suspiciously from behind treated glass.

“That’s normal,” Chan lies smoothly, with another charming smile. “It’s the winding streets. Let me find you a seat with a view.”

This one will be fun to mess with, he thinks to himself, without knowing that he’s completely wrong. Well, Chan’s not really used to having the tables turned on him.

(He can’t say he doesn’t enjoy it ever.)

- The mortal finds his way into Chan’s tea shop every day for the next month. He comes in at precisely twelve-eighteen in the afternoon without fail. Chan keeps an eye on the clock, the ticking of the minute hand always corresponding with the welcoming jingle of the bell.

Chan is not intrigued. His interest is barely piqued.

After all, there’s a new villain in town. A villain that’s painted in hues of insanity that call to Chan like a flame to a moth. He’s drawn to the jagged edges of the dumbass carved on the skin of the small-time criminal, the sheer lack of restraint in the way bones in the face were broken.

It’s not love, but it’s something close.

- Seungkwan says this Wonwoo guy is bad news. It’s funny, because Chan has been telling Seungkwan that Hansol is way out of his league, but he never listens either.

Chan isn’t stupid. He doesn’t want to end up with a broken face and shattered pride. He’ll play this strategically.

He hangs out along the edge of Wonwoo’s territory, causing havoc and having fun, trying to draw out the elusive madman. He fucks with the police station a block away, then casts illusions in a park right outside of the new villain’s territory.

It doesn’t take very long.

He’s in the middle of perusing a jewellery store who decided not to fuck with him (or his wolf familiar, Dino) when he feels a menacing presence at the door. Chan doesn’t stop scrutinising a pair of diamond earrings, although he does tilt his body so the newcomer knows he’s been acknowledged.

“You’re in my territory,” a deep voice rumbles. There’s no menace in his voice, but a shiver runs down Chan’s spine anyway.

“Am I?” Chan asks with faux-confusion. He turns towards the stranger fully, eyes trailing over the neat shoes, tailored suit and polished cane. His gaze lingers on the almost-familiar face, jolting when he realises it’s his newest regular.

“So it’s you,” the mortal, Wonwoo, says. There’s not timidity in his gaze, no hesitation as he saunters into the store. “You’re the warlock shop owner.”

“You’re the mousy writer,” Chan retorts, standing his ground. Something in him quivers as Wonwoo strides forward like he belongs here. It’s titillating. It makes him yearn for something that he shouldn’t want.

Wonwoo’s gaze is sharp as he stops a hair’s breadth away from Chan. “That’s not me.”

“No?” Chan raises an eyebrow. “A mask is still a facet of you, even if you don’t realise.”

“Maybe I’m not hiding.”

“Everyone’s always hiding.”

Wonwoo raises an eyebrow coolly. He plucks the earring out of Chan’s hand casually. Their fingers brush. “And what are you hiding, little warlock?”

The question genuinely stuns Chan.

He doesn’t even notice that Dino has her head bowed, tail between her legs because she’s faced with a predator with sharper teeth and an insatiable thirst for blood – a predator that doesn’t need teeth and claws to tear a man apart.

Chan isn’t scared by that. He’s a man that can command the four elements whenever he can, that regularly plays with the simple minds of mortals any time he pleases.

What can a mortal like Jeon Wonwoo – who has no powers, no way to battle against Chan in a duel and win – do to him?

- Chan is obsessed.

He finds himself scrolling the news for a glimpse of the villainous madman, his gaze following Wonwoo’s civilian persona with an intensity that would scare a regular mortal.

Chan plays with feelings at the drop of a potion, can craft poisons and antidotes from the top of his head. With a wave of his hand, he can bend physics. At the touch of his lips, men and women crumble at his feet.

And yet…

And yet.

His mind is twisted around. Maybe Wonwoo has powers after all.

- It’s a quiet Tuesday afternoon. The morning has been unproductive; all Chan can do is stare at the clock, impatiently waiting for twelve-eighteen. Energy thrums under his skin, sparks trailing across his fingers with every task he finishes unsuccessfully.

The moment the jingle sounds, Chan is greeting Wonwoo at the door. He hates with a passion – from Wonwoo’s soft grey cardigan to his round wire-framed glasses, all the way to his soft hair that Chan wants to bury his handsin and ruin.

He grabs the writer by the collar, dragging him into the kitchen and tossing him unceremoniously against the marble counter.

“What have you done to me?” Chan hisses. His hair whips angrily, eyes flashing silver as his frustration culminates in energy that fills the air and makes the air thick.

Wonwoo sheds this false persona he’s sunk deep into, back straightening and eyes darkening.

“I haven’t done anything,” the psychopath says, but he’s lying.

“You did,” Chan snarls, crossing the space between them. He lifts Wonwoo effortlessly, but he’s unfazed. He gazes at Chan like he’s the one in control. Chan wants to break him. “What curse did you put on me?”

The smirk that curls Wonwoo’s lips knows much more than Chan can ever know. “We’re all cursed. It doesn’t mean a thing.”

“You’re fucking crazy.”

“Maybe it’s the world that’s crazy.”

And somehow that makes sense. The world has tilted and turned insane right in front of Chan’s eyes.

“You’ve done something to me,” Chan says.

Wonwoo smile, slow and wicked. “Maybe I have.”

- Chan doesn’t know what love is. He doesn’t.

But he imagines the way Wonwoo’s eyes scorch his skin as they watch him is as close to love as he can get. The desperate way Chan hangs off Wonwoo’s every word, goes from calling him Wonwoo-ssi to Wonwoo hyung to just hyung.

Wonwoo learns the ways Chan plays with mortals, then learns how to play Chan’s body like the well-loved piano in his shitty apartment out in Itaewon. He takes Chan’s hand then breaks him sweet and slow – almost tender enough to make Chan believe there’s something more between them.

Wonwoo fills his every thought, so he doesn’t even hesitate when Wonwoo asks him for a single spell that causes devastation.

And it devastates him when Wonwoo tosses him aside, like he’s nothing more than an empty gun.
