Omega Leo

Leo as an omega is territorial. His room is his place and he doesn’t want just anyone sullying his space with their stink. He doesn’t even let Sho into it unless absolutely necessary.

During his heats, he shuts himself up in his room and gets angry if anyone even tries to get near him. He’s bristly and on edge of almost everyone who would dare get near him, even if they’re trying to bring him food and water. He doesn’t trust easily.

Even though you’re his partner, he’s still begrudging about letting you come into his room and help him. He doesn’t mind your scent—as huffy as he is, he does like you and his brain recognizes your scent as comforting—but it doesn’t mean he’s comfortable letting himself be this vulnerable around you, especially during the early stages of your relationship. 

Early stages being relative, because you weren’t even allowed into the room at first and had to work your way up to actually being able to physically help relieve him.

If you’re an alpha, forget about it. You had to wait ages before he even felt comfortable letting you anywhere near his room, much less into it. You could leave food and water by the door, and if you really wanted to help, leave him a shirt or something. But he was not letting you even think about the opportunity of getting to touch him during his heat. There was no way someone like you would be able to hold yourself back from an omega who looked and smelled as good as him. It’s only after a looooong time that he finally feels comfortable enough to let you help him through his heats.

The same is more or less true for your ruts, although he’s a little bit more willing when it comes to those. At least then he isn’t the one horny out of their mind and fucked up because of it, even if his body does react in order to accommodate the neediness of an alpha during rut. If you’re the needy mess, he can be in control and take over the pace if necessary. He can be the one wringing whines and moans out of you, and he’s not above tying you down if you’re being too unruly and he has to. That’s the only way he even agrees to help you through it the first time. It was a hesitant agreement to begin with, and he had needed a failsafe in case your self-control slipped. He may have been a bottom, but he was the dominant in the situation.

If you’re an omega, his willingness to allow you into his room cracks much earlier. You’re far less susceptible to the scent of another omega in heat, so he doesn’t have to be so wary of you being like one of those brutes. It definitely helps that your scent is soothing to him, and while it doesn’t necessarily take the edge off in the way having sex with an alpha would, it makes getting through the whole process a lot more bearable. And after a certain point, he sure wouldn’t be against accepting your help and having a little bit of fun together in the meantime! He likes seeing your reactions; you’re so cute and he’ll wring the both of you dry. Bonus points depending on how quickly and easily he can get you to cry :)

Omega Towa

omega Towa does not give two damns about anything. Haru practically has to beg him to stay home whenever he has a heat, but it’s always a coin toss as to whether or not Towa actually listens for that day. Normally, I’d imagine he probably does… if only because he’s more focused on getting his needs taken care of, but sometimes he just feels like he needs some fresh air, and it wouldn’t be too odd to find him wandering around campus, especially if he wants to track you down. He’s in the middle of his heat, and he wants to spend it with you, regardless of if you’re an alpha, beta, or omega! Although… things might get a little rough, especially if you’re a beta… Towa has a crazy high sex drive even when he’s not in heat, so when he’s in heat? Forget about it. You’re not leaving his side for the next week. Scratch that, the next two weeks, because god knows you won’t be able to walk for at least a week after.

It might actually cause some problems for you (well, the both of you, but he certainly cares much less than you do) in tha Towa has absolutely zero problem with PDA and will pin you down wherever you are to have a taste of you. There’s been more than one occasion that you’ve been glad the tree he cares for is well out of the way, because he’s take you apart at the foot of that very tree more than one before, and the only reason it didn’t happen more was because you manage to convince him to take things back to a room. A closet, at the very least.

Omega Haku

omega Haku would be pretty open about his condition if he were to go into heat, and typically you would get a WickHive message saying he wouldn’t be able to meet up with you for a while until it was over. He didn’t like to impede your schedule much, especially considering how busy he knows you are as well as the fact that you already miss quite a bit of classes as it was due to missions and such. He wouldn’t say no if you were to come visit him in the dorms and offer yourself up to him though… Even just coming over to help bring him food, water, and fabric with your scent on it to help make things more comfortable and add to his nest was appreciated, but offering to physically help him through the week was something that would leave him feeling soft, over the moon, and more importantly, ready to have fun.

He would ask you if you were really sure about your decision, but once it was clear that you were certain and not going to back down from taking care of him, he wouldn’t challenge your decision and instead let you into his room in order to help him through his heat. Haku as an omega isn’t a docile, helpless little thing like people stereotypically imagine an omega to be, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t also above being spoiled. He wouldn’t give up all control if you wanted to take the lead between the two of you—even if he wasn’t doing anything, you can tell he’s ready to take back control of the situation at any moment if he so desired—but as keen as he normally would be to be the one exploring your body and making you feel loved, he’d be more than content to lay back and let you take care of him for once.

If he were to go into heat when around you on campus, he’d first try to get himself back to his rooms before things can get worse, but there have been a time or two where his symptoms escalated a little too quickly for him to properly avoid being in public like he’d prefer… When that happened, you found yourself pulled into an empty classroom or closet and pinned to the wall as he kissed you with fervor and worked his hand up your shirt. You’d be embarrassed about it of course, but Haku is good with his hands even when his brain is foggy from arousal; he’d be quick to distract you from thinking about anything other than his hands on your body and the press of his cock against your thigh as he murmurs an apology and promise that it’s just until he can get his symptoms to wane a little bit. He just has to make sure you’re quiet enough in the meantime <3

AU idea - One Piece #1

So I was thinking about this fic I read about a year ago (or re-read it?) -> Luffy was raised as a marine and makes it everyone's problem [An amazing read - I recommend checking it out]

And I really like the idea behind it. Using skills that may have been learned before is always cool, especially if there's a chance that they may be canonical. More than that, I think we should go even further.

So far, we don't know enough about Brook and Jinbe's childhoods to make any assumptions (so I won't touch on them in any depth here - but they are both experienced in diffrent ways), but most of them, to put it mildly, had rather difficult childhoods. And that made them perfectly specialised in the areas they chose to remain safe and survive. Moslty had one mentor or were raised by themselves. All except Luffy and Sanji, if you think about it.

The education system in the OP sucks, just like the real one. But the difference in knowledge and experience should be used as an advantage to make comedy out of this tragedy.

Nami had Bellemere, who probably gave her a basic education. She later self-taught herself out of curiosity and a desire to survive. Her time in the Arlong crew gave her more problems than opportunities to learn (but she may have picked up a few tricks here and there).

Zoro studied in the dojo. He had one sensei, one slightly more experienced rival and one older one to talk to. (Definitely not enough but it sure gave him his rather unique perspective).

Usopp only had his mum. Later, maybe some villagers helped him a bit, or Kaya to thank for the stories - but he is also mostly self-taught.

Chopper studied only under two doctors, and neither of them was sane. Maybe some reindeer instincts from his herd passed on to him before he ate the devil's fruit (but he was young, and later under stress so).

Robin grew up on an island full of scholars, but is still mostly self-taught. And apart from her special interests, everything she learned was from survivalism (so a PhD in history (and related stuff) and random knowledge, if I had to guess - well she's clever enough to learn/teach herself more if need be).

Franky, as far as we know, studied technical fields. We don't know enough about him before he came under Tom's wing, but we can assume that most of his knowledge comes from those years. (He created his own little mafia family, but we don't really know if he learned from anyone how to manage it or not).

And then we have Luffy and Sanji.

Luffy had a grandfather who tried to teach him to be a marine and to fight. Makino taught him the basics (and attempted manners). Dadan and her gang showed him by their example how to be a good bandit. Shanks and his crew taught him the basics of being a good pirate. And of course his brothers, taught him how to be a real jungle kid and a few tricks. And all this probably gave him quite mixed signals - especially with his logic.

And finally Sanji. As a prince born to a scientist (an evil sperm donor, but still the person responsible for his education, who probably with his big ego believed that his children even without modification should be as brilliant as he was) Sanji certainly had some sort of super special royal education (which he tried to perfect because it was probably easier than a physical test and he wanted to fit in somehow). He learned manners, politeness and most of all kindness from his mum. How to cook, fight and be a pirate from Zeff. And probably a few other cooking and odd skills from the various chefs he met over the years on both the Orbit and the Bartie. Working in the kitchen is conducive to conversation.

So I've come to the conclusion that I want to read a fic where both Luffy's and Sanji's upbringing has a greater impact on the strawhats' journey. Yes, I want Luffy to occasionally use his random nautical knowledge to help them escape or get something. (Like the author used it to save Ace, but also to help Robin faster etc.). Someone should also note that the style in which he manages his crew is similar to the bandits. Or they should meet some on the way and only Luffy should know how to behave to be respected. I also want Sanji to talk more about things that pirates should know. Or even about political stuff. (Robin could add more too, but Sanji has a slightly different perspective on it than she does.) Even if he doesn't want to talk about his past, the excuse that he knows everything from Zeff works and is practically undeniable, because no one on the crew knows what he went through as a pirate.

It would have been fun to see Luffy explain to his crew why this marine is bad news, but the other one isn't so bad because his grandfather likes him or something. Or if Sanji, after fighting for Nami's freedom, had stopped and asked the crew if any of them knew a bit of hooks (and Luffy realised that Garp was trying to teach him that - but, as standard, he didn't explain just went on to practice-torture).

Bonus if the only person who can immediately use this random information is Zoro. Who on everything just says: it sounds just about right. Because it perfectly balances the Monster Trio in this way.

This could also be a good idea for a larger crew fic. After the whole situation with Nami, the crew starts talking about heading to the Grand Line and a dialogue like this ensues between them: Sanji: so where are we looking for the other members? The others: We are not looking? Sanji: And what about the watch? Grand Line is very unpredictable. Since you knew some pirates Luffy, I'm sure they talked about it…. Luffy: They told super cool stories! Sanji: Then how do you think we'll be able to have a night shift with just five of us? With such a small number of people, especially with no medic on board, it will affect my cooking….

And let's not kid ourselves but the food argument has a pretty good chance of working.

Luffy: Setting out I thought having 10 members would be ideal! Sanji: For influencing the Grand Line - sure - to just look for them there with the unpredictability and adventures waiting for us there - there aren't enough of us now. We need a few more hands and a pair of eyes.

And honestly this conversation probably doesn't affect Luffy that much, he continues to be as picky about selecting his nakamas as he was in canon, but maybe enough that they select perhaps 3 more people for the lineup. Which allows us to stay fairly ok with the storyline and right away adds diversity and some power. Which may have made some of the arks funnier because we have more room to play. (This Bites! makes it look like a good idea).

I call this idea: Luffy was brought up as he was, and that makes it everyone's problem, but it is Sanji's existence that makes everyone else question it - Zoro you should have a bigger problem with that!

You knew that being a demigod, Luke's old friend and still a Hermes cabin before the war was bad enough, mainly due to the fact that you have several threatening hands from insecure campers who think that something could happen at any moment coming from your cabin, something that you had already gotten used to it in a certain way and that it was gradually decreasing. But when you're avoided by someone you care about, it makes your life complicated.

This was your situation with Thalia Grace. You were never very close to her before your friend's betrayal and her "Transformation" into her human form again, before you only heard stories about who she had been/is. And, after being left by some of her only friends in the field, she tried to make friends with the new girl.

Something that was notably flawed, considering that, of the few conversations that took place, few lasted more than a few minutes and even fewer were those unrelated to missions or Luke's betrayal. Thalia avoided her, she knew this because, every place she entered, if Thalia had been there before, she would have left.

At first you tried to look for why, wondering if it was something wrong with her approach or even her appearance, until you settled that she was probably hesitant because she had been friends with Luke before he betrayed the camp, probably thinking that she would do the same.

This made you sad, because you had developed a crush on her, something you learned to suppress over time. It affected you, you stopped attending the training camps at the time you used to, and you often skipped the bonfire, but it was something you needed to do to not think too much about it.

"Hey, Thalia has been looking at you since the beginning of dinner, did something happen between you two?"

Sitting at the table with some of your friends from your cabin, you shrugged, not bothering to look.

"She's been avoiding me forever, she probably thinks-"

"Do you think blah blah blah, it's not very complicated to notice Thalia's gaze on you, and that she must be, I don't know, embarrassed for being close to you? It must not be related to Castellan" being interrupted by another member of her cabin, you could only sigh in response, not believing her because you had already deluded yourself with this dream several times.

"You may not believe it, but you weren't the one who looked for the girl you don't like because of her friend in training" - hearing the new information from your friend, you couldn't contain a big smile, while asking for more information.

On the other side, there was Thalia who discreetly observed you, breaking the rules and sitting next to Percy Jackson, who was talking about some new interest he had discussed with Annabeth. Normally she would be a little more interested, but seeing you laughing with your cabinmates made her heart hurt a little.

Thalia was aware that you were insecure about what she thought of you and, because you didn't know how to deal with your own feelings, she was sure it had gotten worse.

Letting herself be carried away by her feelings, Thalia got up from her seat (not before murmuring ''I'll be right back'' to Percy) and went to where you were sitting.

“Y/N, can I talk to you?”

Your friends, who immediately fell silent upon seeing Thalia, gave small laughs while you nodded. You didn't understand what was happening, but felt butterflies in your stomach as Thalia directed them to a place far from the Dining Hall, but close enough of the cabins.

Leaning against a tree and not leaving you a chance to speak, Thalia began to vent about her feelings.

"I know I've been acting strangely around you and I wanted to tell you I'm sorry because you didn't do anything. I don't know what's wrong with me-"

"Wait, you don't hate me because of Luke?" you couldn't help but interrupt, or rather, talk over her in the face of her shock at the fact that, even though her friends said, Thalia didn't hate you, she really didn't hate you.

"What?" Now it was Thalia's turn to be surprised, crossing her arms as she looked at you. "No, I don't have problems with you because of him, that never entered my head. I know you were friends but half the camp was like that with him, I don't blame you"

Feeling a great weight lift from both of your shoulders, the brief tension that was in the air diminished, making you, who was very tense, relax your body, in the same way as Thalia.

"I'm glad we're good now, I swore you hated me because of this" letting out a small laugh that made Thalia smile briefly, she continued "But I still don't understand why you avoided me if you didn't hate me, why you hated me ".

As much as Thalia wanted to hide her feelings, her heart beat faster, making her move closer to you, a light red blush occupying her cheeks.

"I like you, it's kinda ironic since I've been avoiding you, but it was complicated when everything came to me...I like you, not in the sense like Camp colleagues or training partners, I really like you"

You were surprised, perhaps the happiness of receiving a confession that your reciprocal feelings along with the happiness of knowing that she doesn't really hate you was so great that the only thing you could do was take a few steps towards her and hug her, drowning in a smell that she hoped would become common in her life. It didn't take long to feel Thalia's arms around her too, welcoming her into her embrace on a particularly 'not so hot' summer night that would remain forever marked for you.

Is there a reason why your AU Tommy doesn't talk? Like did something happen that made him go mute or did he randomly decide to just stop talking one day?

I've touched on this before but I'mma go in a bit more detail this once

it sorta all began when he was 8 and his parents died (not what made him stop talking, bear with me)

he was very heartbroken and couldnt understand how every one of his classmates and friends acted like nothing had happened when his entire world was collapsing, this led to him being angry at all of them, snapping at them and very much cutting ties (not the fault of the other kids, they very much tried to help him but being so young they didn't really understand how and just kept trying to drag him to play)

after the school year ended tho him and Wilbur had to move from their town to the city where their grandmother and aunt lived (both where underage, their aunt moved to their house for a couple of months until they finished school)

tommy was furious about this, absolutely furious. he had little relationship with them before and now refused to talk to the two completely, it started out of spite but then everyone involved sorta gave up trying to get him to listen and just.. stopped talking to I'm directly, or at least stopped expecting an answer

the same happened at his new school, he refused to make friends or talk to anyone as a form of protest, he didn't want to live here he didn't want to know this people and ideally he'll be far away from this place by the end of this week.

all of his classmates lost interest and just accepted that he was an antisocial weirdo and moved on. even though he went to that school for 5 years (until Wilbur was 20 and they moved back) he never bothered to shake off that reputation, growing up mostly apathetic to those around him

<- worth mentioning that he was really depressed during this time and moving to an unfamiliar place with ppl he didn't care about after losing his parents did the opposite of helping

by the time they had moved back that was kinda who he was already, it felt like too much of an effort to change and he was scared to do so too, moslty not knowing what else he could be (can't really go back to being 7 at 13)

Wilbur was always sorta an acception to the rule, he became kinda the only person he would talk to and while he was honored he was also really worried for him. time passed and even though he still technically talked to him it exclusively when spoken to and he replied in as short of a sentence as he could

it breaks his heart really but he knows tommy doesn't like to be pitied so he's "normal" about it

he desperately wishes he could help but nowdays he's swamped with work and can't really afford a therapist (not that he thinks tommy would like that, he got offered going to therapy while they where in the city and did not like the idea at all)

that's why he's so excited that tommy has a friend now! even if he's weird and also antisocial! I haven't released it yet cus it's not done but Im writing smt from Tommy's pov set the morning after the murder where he kinda spills to Wilbur that he has a friend

He always hated that man's eyes. They where, objectively, totally fine, nothing out of the ordinary. They weren't bloodshot, they didn't have obviously concerning red irises, no, nothing that most would find concerning.

To be fair, most would consider his eyes more concerning then Jack's, with their icy color and slit pupils where light could reflect even by day. But, still, it was the first thing he hated when he met that young researcher.

He shuddered with slight fear and disguss when he had to look in his eyes and shake his hand for the first time. Those eyes where nearly identical to his father's, outside, obviously, the lack of slit pupils. And worst of all, they glinted or felt the same way as his father's did.

Just the eyes, never the rest of his expressions. But oh it was just the beginning. Eyes where one thing, the attitude, another. He hoped maybe that after a while he could even just, tolerate him.

He was wrong. Plain and simple. Jack Bright was an absolute insufferable little bitch. Rarely listen to anyone, arrogant, self-sufficient, prone to bullying behavior, disregard safety rules, can't even keep his office somewhat clean or organized, whiny and oh gosh why did most of his voices, even when changing bodies, sounded so annoying !?

Each minute just standing near the man annoyed him deeply. And those fucking eyes. And those sarcastic comments. And despite everything he did there was little to no consequences. He couldn't be fired, or killed definitely. All because that bastard was the son or someone and little brother of another. Well, it was that before the accident. After that, being officially anomalous in nature, he wouldn't go away because technically he was also an scp.

Though ... he did not act like it, and for the most part was not treated like it. He still treated most other sentient entity like trash, including him.

He was moslty treated well. But some of his question where way too personal. And he started giving nicknames, mostly sexual ones. And oh by star dust he was so clingy and way to much into physical contact. Everyday was a new way to blur the line between flirt and disrespect for that idiot.

Getting extremely graphic remarks from someone's with his dad's eyes was not something he wanted. The only thing he dreamed of was to grab him by the hair and bash his head repeatedly against a kitchen counter until enought blood was spilled that the room was painted in crimson hues.

So it was a surpise, when one day, that bastard barged in his cell, wet eyes and sniffling.

" Your old huh ...? "

He remembered raising an eyebrow, commenting on the blunt nature of his words.

" How ... how am I suppose to do it ? They will grow old ... and die and there will be no way to stop it ! I feel like I can't grow anymore ... people will move on from me ... "

He couldn't answer Jack's question, having no answer himself, having lived a long nomadic live, with short relationships, and he knew why, because he too, even after all this time, still felt was the researcher was feeling. He just took him in his arms, in silence, maybe he understood what was implied, maybe he tired himself out, maybe he just needed comfort.

He told him to go see someone to talk too about that, and after a while, it started to get slightly better. He was still very similar, kept the pranks, the attidude and ... those kind of comments, was this a way to flirt ? Did he thought it was an acceptable way to do it ...?

They started making small talks if they had to do something together, as a way to pass time.

One day, a first of January, he woke up with two problems. A hangover, migraines, dry mouth and throat accompanied by strange pains in his chests.

" I shouldn't have took theses things "

That's when he felt warm breating against his chest, calming the pain growing in it, it couldn't be his, slowly, he looked down to see that bastard sleeping peacefully, huddled against him. Slowly, he woke up and moved, groaning and moaning in pain and discomfort, without even acknowledging his environment.

" Oww ... fuck fuck ... fuck ... never ... again ... oww my back ... "

Was what we growled, before trying to look around.

" Why the fuck is it so dark in here goddammit ... "

He could see just fine, perk to not being human. He calmly asked, keeping anger away from his voice.

" What are you doing here ...?

A hight pitched, short scream was the first thing Bright managed.

" What the fuck are you doing ... here !? "

He frowned.

" That's my cell, and my bed. I'm supposed to be here. "

They both were silent for a moment, staying there, in the dark.

" I think ... I drunk and crawled here ... last thing I remember is you were laying on your bed, laughing, high as a kite ... hey hum ... my back hurts ... "

Great usage of word Bright. Just great. He growled.

" Even dead drunk with you as the last alive thing in this world I wouldn't touch you ! "

Bright looked honestly hurt for a second, before frowning, then smiling with amusement.

" Yeah, apparently you would directly pound me into the matress, no apocalypse needed ! "

He hated that dude, he wasn't so sure of it but it felt like it, something about his eyes, or about his attitude, would always annoys him. It was something visceral that he couldn't and wouldn't control.

He thought it must be hate, but he still hold him in his arms, not letting go. Some time after, when Jack would joke about it, he would just say that he needed warmth this morning, that it was winter after all. Both saw past the lie thought. Thoses eyes looked pretty all thing considered.

idk i actually do genuienly believe her (moslty bc 4-6 custom items taking an entire month or even more than 2 days for a 10yr+ professional mostly full time artist just seems impossible to me esp seeing how quickly she does shit on stream & knowing other artists myself haha. no comment on the monthlies since even if they did hold up site progress they cant just be paused as thats the sole revenue for dv so moot to talk abt as an option but id ALSO guess those dont take an entire month or even over a week, esp w how theres always small boring items included w only a few complicated each batch) but like i think was brought up before, i agree the main problem is that all that stuff is one time scheduled release but other content is nearly ALWAYS larger bundles together.

its easier + quicker to do a few art than an entire event. customs are published once their done. but general site content is made dependent on a bunch of other shit ("X item is complete but will have to sit here for month until the other 15 items are done" "Y item is finished but we have to get ahold of our barley functional coder & wait 2 mo. on writing before it can come out"). so stuff like custom queue stays chugging along doing a lil bit here & there while main site content releases are always MASSIVE drops w a bunch of shit all at once to the point that its overwhelming. 

there is plenty to show for the other 90% of time they just dont show it at the right times or in the right way bc they put all the stuff together (OR also could be all their time gose into shit that isnt easily visible like background management work or now that anjis trying to learn code to pick up slack she could be spending more time w that which has no visible site progress). fr we spend all our time waiting around for shit to drop not bc progress isnt actually getting done or bc one thing is takign up all the resources but just bc staff just does not know how to do little teasers or small events or small content resleases.

again this all comes down to management issue & site direction. probaly also a community advisor of sorts. which they lack. but could tell them "you dont have to put these items together or drop them w an update. the users do not care". or "you do not have to waste months coming up w grand vision of new event types multiple times a yr i promise you can just do the same thing & nobody will care" haha

4 Anti LO Asks

1. even if hermes is based off a (potentially former) partner, RS can't cut him out entirely anyway, just like she eventually has to deal with demeter no matter how little she uses her. she seems more burdened by the mythology than not, tbh.

LO! Zeus is just a joke, he doesn't respect his wife, is a bad father, doesn't respect his brothers and acts like a petulant child. Dude literally manipulated and send he's traumatized older brother to the underworld with their abusive father just because he was jelaous of him, sleep with his sons girlfriend (i don't care if they're not exclusive), gets angry because no one respects him but does absulutely nothing to win respect and wants to have a said in literally every act of wrath, thing that is imposible because acts if wrath are moslty a thing that happends in the moment. Zeus being both a cheater and a bad dad is myth acurate and i liked how RS didn't make him a saint, but this Zeus is just way worse than Myth! Zeus, Myth! Zeus at least cared for his brothers (and Hestia), helped Psyche get with Eros and punished people who deserved it sometimes (like Tantalus and Licaon). Even tough i think that LO! LO! Poseidon have to be the most chill version of Poseidon that i've seen, wasn't that dude supposed to have a bad temper? Meybe is because we haven't seen him angry yet but Myth! Poseidon was a pretty hot-headed god, he could make the earth shake with his anger, the whole reason why Zeus wanted to get him a wife was because he tough that would calm him down, and not even Amphitrite could calm him down sometimes. Is  just me or Poseidon seems to be the most decent king in LO? He is parently in a consensual open relationship with Amphitrite, is a chill dude who takes care of his son, likes to party and is adorable in general. Is just so weird, Myth! Poseidon is just as bad as Zeus but LO!Poseidon is by far the most decent brother.

And we all know what is wrong with LO! Hades, but i don't get why RS couldn't make him a strict yet kind ruler like in the myths. Myth! Hades was actually pretty kind sometimes, he let Orpheus try to get Eurydice back, in one of the versions of the myth he was the one who let Sisyphus go back to life, let Heracles borrow his dog, let one of Hera's daughter (Angelos) live in the underworld, etc. And the only people he actually hurt was two dudes that tried to kidnap Persephone, the thing with Asclepius was mostly Zeuse's fault. Myth! Hades did bad things like kidnaping Persephone and cheating on her (even tough Persephone also cheated on him with Adonis) but he was by far better than Zeus and Poseidon, as a husband and as a king. Also, can we stop pretending that the underworld is a bad place to rule? Hades had the richest kingdom, a personal river and eventually, all the people of the other two kingdoms. It doesn't seems like a total hell to me. Myth! Hades was both feared AND respected, but Myth! Hades is neither of those things, Hades may have the respect of the realm, but he doesn't have the respect of the people who live in there. 

3. what is so frustrating about the ever growing cast of LO is none of them exist outside of H/P. Hera serves no purpose but to prop H/P up. Zeus, Leto, and Apollo only exist to be a thorn in H/P's side. Daphne, Eros, and the Nymphs are there to defend H/P and their actions. Hermes and Hekate are only there to be H/P lackeys. Even Demeter and Minthe only exist to be drama for H/P. Take H/P out, and none of these characters can stand on their own. They're props.

Tips for someone learning German whose first language is Slovene?

hi! i have to say i wasn’t expecting this question, but i’m happy to answer

1.1. realize how many words you already subconsciously know;

the slovenian grammar is more or less based on german (and czech) grammar, so a lot of words (specially verbs) are build in the same way (thanks to the infamous toporišič)

Präfix Verben aka the verbs that have a preposition as the first part are very similar to slovene if you translate both parts

e. g. absagen: ab - od, sagen - povedati, reči -->absagen - odpovedati

the slovenian educational system usually introduces these verbs very late in the process when students already gave up on learning grammar because it doesn’t make sense to them. in my opinion, the teachers should emphasize how similar it actually is and encourage them to recognise german words in their slovenian vocabulary

1.2. if you are lucky enough you live in a region where some of the colloquial words and slang are taken from german.

they are usually a bit changed due to influence from other countries (aka Italy), so figuring out that some of them originate from german can be quite difficult.

an obvious example:

deka (a colloqual word for odeja) - die Decke

2. learn the basic formation of the sentence;

the verb is always on second place (in basic sentences, but don’t complicate your life with learing subordination right away). this way it will be easier for you to recognize the verb, to connect which ending it should have based on the subject aka Subject aka osebek, and it will be easier to form your own sentences

3. don’t start learning too many tenses (Zeitformen) - you will most likely mix them up and be frustrated.

start with Präsens and maybe Present Perfect, but fucus on understanding how they are built, not on knowing as many verbs as possible. if the verbs are regular, you will know which ending the verb needs right away.

sein and haben are irregular tho, so learining those two by heart is a must

4. always learn the nouns with their articles, which define their gender

the concept is not so difficult to understand for slovenians, but we do it by ear, which is (in most cases) very difficult for a foreign speaker trying to learn german

i used to avoid this, but i soon figured out that it’s impossible to form any sentences (where you have to use cases) without knowing the article. it can get a bit overwhelming tho, so try figuring out some shortcuts (foreign words are usually neutral - das Auto- , words ending with -keit, -heit are usually feminine, and words describing people who are doing something are moslty masculine)

use colours! or divide them in columns and learn them that way

5. don’t be overwhelmed with compound words and don’t try forming them yourself before being sure what it means

6. keep in mind that the learining/speed curve when it comes to german is usually very low at first, but it gets easier when you start understanding when to use a certain tense, how to do Adjektivdeklination and so on. but mainly, don’t give up, it’s pretty cool when you start understaning sentences and even some spoken german, which i’m sure will give you motivation to continue

also, i was shitty at it first and i remember myself being very upset about getting a 3 on a presentation once, but it never crossed my mind i would be studying german in second year of uni a couple of years later

Hellu, you might have talked about this already in many post but I just heard of you and have a dead crow I want put on display. It have been outside for few month so its moslty just feathers and bones left but its still pretty intact at the joints and dont know how to best seperate them. I dont dare boiling it because I have heard bird bones are bit fragile. Also dont know what killed it. Its from a time where many birds where dropping dead so its possible it died from a disease.

Are you wanting to just save the bones then? If that’s the case then you are correct—definitely don’t want to boil bird bones or bones from any animal for that matter. Boiling is far too harsh and can cause damage to bone such as flaking and even cooking grease into the bone which causes discoloration that’s practically impossible to get rid of down the line. 

Just collect the bones, remove the feathers, then let all of the bones sit in a covered bucket of warm water (around 85 degrees Fahrenheit is ideal and can be achieved with a fish tank heater or bucket heater) until the remaining tissue rots off. That’ll take care of those remaining tendons and ligaments of the joints. If after a week or so you don’t notice any progression then you’ll have to add something a little “fresher” to kickstart the bacteria responsible for decomp. This often happens with specimens that are particularly dried out and desiccated. Just toss in a few small scraps of meat, a cup or two of scuzzy pond water if you have one nearby, or even pour in a cheap beer. Then give it a couple of weeks and see how it’s looking. Once all of the meat has rotted off and it’s down to just bones then you can degrease in hot, soapy water and whiten with hydrogen peroxide. 

As for the potential for disease—most diseases animals carry die off within 24-48 hours of the host animal’s death. A few like rabies can go dormant for a while if the weather is cold but most don’t last long. Still, it’s always important to be cautious when handling dead animals. Wear gloves, wear protective goggles if there is a chance of any gunk splashing in your eyes, and wear a respirator if there’s a chance of inhaling any fur or bone dust. Wash your hands thoroughly in hot, soapy water when you are done handling the animal and make sure to not touch your face or any open cuts you may have before doing so. And be extra cautious when handling knives, scalpels, etc. If you do this long enough then it’s not if, it’s when you accidentally cut yourself. I’ve sliced off part of my knuckle while gutting a nasty old roadkill possum, stabbed myself in the palm while defleshing a wolf skull, cut my hand on a sharp piece of plastic inside a maceration bucket, splashed maceration soup in my eyes and mouth on several unfortunate occasions, and on and on and on over the last twenty years and lived to tell the tale thankfully, haha. I know of many taxidermists who have ended up in the ER after accidentally cutting themselves and immediately required stitches or had to go a little further down the line after developing a bad infection though. So always be extra, extra cautious when using sharp, pointy things around dead things. And if you do sustain an injury, clean it well and keep a close eye out for signs of infection.

And also be sure that it is in fact legal for you to keep those crow bones! If you are in the US there are some places where you can’t possess native crow parts, others where you can but you can’t sell them, others where you can’t possess them unless someone who had permits to shoot them gifts you one, and so on. Confusing stuff but important for bone collections to know those laws—they are in place for the animals’ benefit and protection after all and it’s our job as responsible collectors to be aware of them and respect them.

After Eddard they had become more skilled and Robert used to joke they had let their hand slip. They had ended up with six children, after all, and there was no reason to stop yet. Once they became more sure of themselves, they had searched for Gendry’s mother back at King’s Landing to offer her to come live at Storm’s End with her son, but she had died. Janna had wore black for a year after learning that, in the most risky move she had ever made in her life. 

“I know you love them in your own way and I know you’re going through with this engagment because you want the best for Bella, but she hasn’t been speaking with your for a week now.”

“What do you suggest then?” Janna asked mollified.

Ooh I remember when I signed up on tumbrl and I was really excited with the idea people were able to ask me questions here, heheh And now I have my questions piled up, oh my! I feel shame of myself! *blushes and hides her face under her hands * So that's why I'm trying to catch up with the questions people have given me.

This one  made me laugh a lot and blush a lot at the same time! HEHEHEH! Mostly because when you said “swear words" I imagined me saying such words and being red like a tomato while doing it! XD

Why would you want to know swear words in French in the first place?

In general it’s something people asks me very otfen when I tell them I know french, it’s pretty hilarious and intriguing.

Specially, your question it’s so funny, because when I starting learning french I thought I absolutely didn’t wanted to learn french swear words and I was avoiding them like the plague! I avoided the sites I thought might contain them so I couldn’t find them. Bu I never thought youtube could have them. I watched videos of my favorite cartoons in french on youtube to practice my hearing, and the videos didn’t had them, so I thought I was safe....but the comments people made had swear words in them sometimes, cos teen french used them for everything! O_O like if they were common words like “ok” or “hey”.

Then I tried to leave youtube and other sites, and stay just on deviantart and comment some french artists pieces to practice my writting, but many teenager native french on deviantart talked like that was well. They literally cound’t start a phrase without a swear word on it! XD

So at the end I ended up accepting that was part of french culture, wether I liked or and I coudn’t escape of that heheh

And I chilled up a bit. Mostly because I realized the French tend to be pretty open about them. They don’t see them as shocking words or to offend someone, they use them more like a wildcard for their phrases, specially young ones.

That said, I still don’t like swear words and I’m still not in favor of teaching people this kind of stuff because I think it’s not really useful. But I encourage the curiosity of learning another language, and I like people being inquisitive, so lets see what I can do.

If you google for “swear words in french” you’ll find a lot. So I think it will be a lot cooler to know stuff you don’t learn in books nor in the web, but in real life talking ( or writting moslty in my case, although I have had the chance to talk too) with other french! Like how you can use swear words in an elegant way, or using euphemisms. So you can use them without anybody gasping and being schocked at it.

I will start with the softest ones and gradually go to some that are stronger. well, as much as being an artists who works on family entertaintment field lets me at least *chuckles*

Sacrebleu!

This one means “ sacred blue” and it comes from the time on 19 century when people referred to Mary’s bue dress, and used it as an exclamation expression. And people considered it a swear word because they believed saying that was taking her name in vain. This one probably you have heard it already a lot of times on french themed movies or shows. And it really isn’t a swear word on nowadays.  It could be an equivalent of “darn” in english.

It’s an outdated one though. No french says it since a pretty good time. But I think it’s a very cool and funny one, it sounds cool! So I couldn’t help including it here hehe

I think it would be great if people in nowadays would want to say it!

Nom d’un chien!

It comes from "Nom de dieu” which in the 19 century was considered a swear word, because people had the belief  to mention God’s name on an exclamation phrase was a bad thing because they were “taking God’s name in vain”. Also, some people use “chien” to refer to the word in french for S***.

Still in use, but mostly by elderly people.

Flûte!

This one means literally “flute”, the instrument.  But I love it because it’s so hilarious how if well used, it can become an exclamation expression with F word because it resembles very much to the F word in french. And it’s ok to say it on rated G material! As I’ve seen on french comic books and movies. So you can actually use it on your rated G work, and it sounds more like what a genuine french would say than “sacrebleu“.

Still in use by all french, but specially middle aged and mature people.

Diantre

Means “dammit”, and it’s used very often, specially by mature aged people, as an exclamacion expression of surprise or anger. Like: “Damn! I forgot my car’s keys!” “Diantre! J'ai oublié mes clés de voiture!”  

Not very used by the younger ones though,  but it’s a cool one! I think people should use it more!

Bordel

A mess.This word literally means bordello or brothel, and is used in that sense as well. 

“Bordel” is one of my favorite french words despite being considered a swear word, because it’s not much an offensive word like other swear words. Its more like a word most commonly used in exclamation expressions like “Like oh ****! That movie was incredible!!” “Oh bordel! Ce film à ete incroyable!”

Or talking about something being messy or sloppy, like “my table was really a mess after cooking”, "Ma table etait un vrai bordel après avoir cuisiné”.

You can also use this one as an expression of rage to someone, like “****! why did you beat up my brother?! “Bordel!

There are also some other words that are used with the purpose of being offensive. Like for example:

Dégage !

Get out of my way! /**** off!  The verb dégager used to suggest movement – especially that of expulsing something – in non-obscene contexts, as well. As a swear word, it actually really depends on the way a person uses it.  It would never be polite to say to someone if you want them to get out of your way, but it can range from “Move!” or “Get out of my way!” to “Fuck off!” depending on how angry/frustrated the speaker is.

Dégueulasse (sometimes shortened to “Dégueu”).  

Disgusting/repugnant.  This can refer to a thing, a person, an action, a situation, etc. It’s used all the time, especially on reality TV and by teens across France, and is only moderately obscene. Still, when in polite company, use its perfectly above-board sibling, dégoûtant(e), instead. I say this from experience.

Ta gueule

Shut the ****/hell up!  This expression comes from the phrase “Ferme ta gueule“, that means literally “shut up your snout”,  but it’s so frequently used that just the last two words are necessary now.

Like some of the other words on this list, this one’s power seems to vary depending on the context and, especially, the tone of the speaker. It’s often used in French comedies when a person is getting angry or upset – and in those cases, where it doesn’t seem particularly violent or full of loathing, it could be best translated as “Shut the hell up!” or even simply “Shut up!”.

On the other hand, if the person saying it is doing so in an aggressive way, it could probably be better translated as “Shut the fuck up!”

Se taire

Means “Shut up!” Like its English counterpart, this isn’t so much obscene, as impolite.  “Tais-toi” is the most common form.

Chier

Means to defecate, but in a vulgar way, so it’s the equivalent of the word S*** in english.  Even if this one IS a strong swear word, I added it here because it's use in french it’s very interesting and fascinating to me . It’s a word that isn’t only be used as an insult, but  it also can be used to express when something or someone it’s annoying, or just plain boring.

“Faire chier" A wonderful, versatile expression that ultimately shows annoyance.  If used reflexively (most commonly Je me fais chier) it means to be fucking bored or annoyed.  

Faire chier, is also  a common expression that means to “piss off someone” to make someone mad.This comment I found from someone who traveled to paris was very interesting:

“This is an expression I heard a lot last time I went to Paris. Every time a train was cancelled, I could hear lots of “ils font vraiment chier !”

Hey I just was wondering your thoughts on Bertkasa (Bertholdt and Mikasa). I thought it was an interesting idea considering how similar the two of them are and I haven't seen many people comment on it. Do you ship Bertholdt with anyone in particular?

Thoughts on Bertholdt x Mikasa:

This ship is definitely one of those rare ones and I never really thought about it before until recently. I can sort of see the similarities between the two characters and thus can understand why some people ship them.

However I personally don't ship them due to the fact that their interactions in the anime/manga are so aggressive and full of anger. Mikasa wants Bertholdt dead due to his crimes against Eldians and overall their relationship after Bertholdt and Reiner revealed their identities has been very tense. Now correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think their relationship even before the Clash of the Titans arc wasn't anything special in the first place. And to me, canon relationships matter when shipping but of course everyone has their preferences.

Now, who do I ship Bertholdt with then?

Reiner! Reibert has been my OTP for so long and I could go on and on about why I ship them but to keep it short and to prevent me from ranting; I find their relationship strong and healthy and their interactions are moslty positive. (I can write about Reibert some other time If you guys want)

Overall Berumika is an interesting and rare ship. Not exactly to my liking but it's not like I'm going to attack anyone who ships it of course. If you like it, good for you!

TL;DR:

While I can see Bertholdt and Mikasa's similarities as characters, I personally don't ship Berumika simply because I find their relationship and interactions aggressive. Nothing against the people who ship them of course.
