Hello everyone, this is naru with a very much delayed introduction 🫡 this is my 3rd side blog for writing since i like to separate my writing works like that, (which means the person with the name naruryun is also me, that's just my main responding since side blogs can't respond to comments) but it's very nice to meet you all! if you've seen me before then hush, don't say anything.

The positive response to my first 2 fics is overwhelming to put it lightly 🥹 I haven't had so many works hit 1K notes the moment it's been released but the love for those two fics have made this vacation even more enjoyable. Star rail has quickly become a favorite game of mine since it checks off all of my favorite genres in terms of entertainment and gaming, so to see the fandom love my very much filtered brainrot for one general makes me incredibly happy 🥹❤️

Thank you so much for liking my writing so far, I'll make sure to keep providing more brainrot for Jing Yuan and even other hsr characters in the future 🙇

9. a ship that isn’t your OTP but that you enjoy

immediately going for my weak point i see LOL what ship do i enjoy throwing around in my brain that doesn’t really live in it, but not to the point of me forgetting about its existence until someone brings it up... it's gotta be kaochia??? i like them a lot, but saying i think about them as much as i think about my otps would be a little much. (honorary mentions go to mitsunagi and trickyuzu. they are my little ships-in-law.)

11. if you’re a writer or artist, what fic or piece of art are you proud of making?

there's 3 pieces, which surprises me... but the thing that makes me proud of them is the imagery and descriptions, and the first one, the latest one i wrote, is the one i'm most proud of. i hope it was able to reach many people, regardless of whether they understood the message or not.

16. a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate

INHALES that time during orihime and hikoboshi where subaru got upset with the rst first years, and then asked midori what it's like to have his insides spilling out of his body because midori got into yumenosaki by chance, without any training. that "insides spilling out of his body" is the exact same phrase subaru used to describe himself during rocket start, when his genius status prevented him from relating to the rest of his classmates and effectively alienated him from the others.

so subaru just blatantly admitted that he thinks midori might be some sort of genius, at least at the beginning of !era, and i think about that so So much it makes me unwell.

in regards to this midoyuzu post i just imagined. yuzuru in full military gear a la ibara scout style with a tense expression on his face and like. a rifle in hand and then u look to the left and midori’s just. tryna catch butterflies in a net and hunt for frogs kagajsghs and that just. cracks me up.

i also loooove how u portray shinomayo friendship it’s like. “hey this is my friend i know he’s being haunted by the horrors and he’s a lil weird but he’s a really nice guy and if y’all would hang out w him i’d appreciate it” which. they are so silly :P

Oh wow there was a liveblog! I forgot about how the Naru vs Ami thing happened - I remember when it first aired, I thought just how realistic it all felt and how cool it was that they decided to explore this. Also linguistics and semantics sounds like such an awesome field of study! And I'm definitely appreciating your attention to the translations and word choice - it's something I'm always curious about as well!

Thanks for dropping by and sending me something, anon! Yours and the other asks I've been receiving are all very, VERY pleasant surprises! I feel like I don't usually get more than 5 ask per year. lol

Yeahhhhh!!!! PGSM really does the storytelling so well. It has such a strong capacity for exploring character dynamics in a realistic way, including creating believable pathways for character development and personal growth to happen!

While I alluded to how Act 15 and the starting of Act 16 made me "hate" Naru, I immediately loved Naru for how she was in the ending of Act 16, and she remains cool and loveable in my books for the rest of the series as well. Due to personal experiences of being bullied/intentionally alienated from peers in school for a period of time, I really related to Ami, Rei and Makoto's story in PGSM, and how Naru got jealous/possessive in pulling Usagi away from Ami in Act 15 especially struck a chord in me when I first watched the series, reminding me of what happened in my own experience, so I'm extremely happy with how PGSM handled the whole situation so well, and willing to explore the emotional impact and significance this all have on its characters. I've very excited to get to the iconic scene in Act 16 where Rei/Mars confronts Ami/Mercury!!!!!!!! (Rei my fave!)

Yeah, I love interpreting and understanding languages, so to know I can study something called "Linguistics" when I got to uni was extremely exciting for me! (Though my work now doesn't have anything related to my undergrad degree).

I also took a university class in Japanese (the most basic level) to help me read Japanese better. I will unashamedly admit it's because I also want to be able to read the PGSM Visual book. :P

It certainly helped me a lot with live blogging as well. hahahahaha

It's strange to think how much my love for PGSM influenced my life choices in minor but significant ways. I mean, it's also why I created this blog in the first place. LOL

Anyways, hope my future content will continue to interest you and others. If there are things I can do to keep the love for PGSM going, I'm all for it!

What’s a roleplay blog whose writing style you admire?

@trickstercaptain : They are one of the most well-rounded writers on Tumblr. There’s something very special about the way Lottie writes all her muses. She manages to bring them to life and establish their voices no matter who she’s writing. I’m consistently impressed by how well they continue to grow as a writer. The best writing partners are those which help you improve through their own writing and I feel like Lottie has done that for me. Having the opportunity to write, plot, and befriend them over the years has truly been one of the best experiences I’ve had on tumblr. 

What’s a roleplay blog who always has the best plot ideas?

@talktoten : I’ve learned a lot about plotting from Ingrid. Notably the lack of need to actually plot. While I generally prefer talking out a variety of scenarios before writing them Ingrid instilled an appreciation for “and then” writing. They’re a very good improv writer and always leave room to respond and expand on the story. 

@fireblight : Best person to plot out Oto shenanigan's is probably another way to put this. But seriously, Daph is an awesome person to plot with. They have an incredible love for Karin and never lack ideas on ways to expand her character. It’s been a hell of a time watching them expand their post-war universe and they have so many fabulous au ideas. Just an all around creative person who I love to plot with. 

What’s a roleplay blog whose artwork/edits/icons you admire?

@uchjha : Fabulous Sasuke. Fabulous Rper. And I really love their edits. I mean, look at their avatar. Sasuke’s smoke is purple. That’s just awesome. Their blogs theme is also very nice. Smooth, I guess?? I don’t know what to tell you guys. I just like their shit. What’s even more is that they really love Sasuke as a muse and it shows in both their edits and writing. What’s a roleplay blog you admire from afar?

@naru-uzumaki : I feel like I’ve been following them forever but never really spoke or even interacted with them. Which is truly a travesty because they are such a consistent presence on my dash. It’s like seeing someone at work for seven years and not never knowing your name. Or constantly borrowing a classmates pencil but never bothering to learn their name. Like, it’s terrible and I really need to get my shit together on this.

I don’t know how there’s so many of you around when I quite honestly suck lmao, but I appreciate it a lot that a good portion of you have stuck around and have humored me for almost three years now?? Like wow that’s a lot. Made this blog for the heck of it, made lots of cool friends, still making some very cool friends, had to say goodbye to a few for a variation of reasons, the fall-outs always suck the most, but I’m sure they’re doing fantastic and thought it the best, still wishing them a lot of luck! Suzu and Ring Marry's debut arc! Probably the things I was more excited about since the beginning of this season after all yall know I love these two.

Episode 65 is Suzu's debut, and I've gotta say I didn't enjoy this episode quite as much as I did in my first time I watched it. I think I was just so excited about the episode back then that I blindfolded myself to the problems this episode has.

The major thing that bugs me the most is Suzu's trauma. I didn't like most of Miracle Kiratts participation in this episode as well, but Emo, from all people, managed to save that up at the end when she gave the most important lesson (IMO) while doing something that Suzu loved, so I don't have as many issues as I have with Suzu's backstory.

We gotta be honest here, her trauma is dumb. I think even for a kid is pretty dumb. I would understand if she was angry at it, or even frustrated at the whole situation, but even in those cases I still don't think it'd be enough to make her stop singing. Besides, that judge said both her dance and singing were cute, so it doesn't make sense that she stopped singing for that but not the dancing.

Regardless of all that, I love Suzu's performance. The song is a bang, the stage is also pretty cool, and the coord is gorgeous as well, I love everything. The thing that impressed me the least was the yattemita that looks way too simple and cheap to me, but honestly, everything else is so good I don't even care.

In summary, a mixed episode, but the performance elevated it quite a lot so, good job I guess.

Episode 67 was a bit weird, I don't know if it was my brain trying to shut off since it was a bit late when I watched the episode, but I had this feeling in the back of my head that something was off there even though I was enjoying the episode.

I guess what threw me off was how sudden this all felt? I don't know, I feel like coming from 3 episodes that had no mention of Suzu and Maria getting together when we get to this episode and in the first five minutes we're already seeing they discuss this, it feels a bit weird. It may also have been the ending of the episode that I thought it was a bit odd, but honestly, it didn't bother me as much so I doubt this was the feeling I was having.

In any case, these were the only things that I saw as problems, this is a very solid episode and I was having a great time with it.

Also, we got double performances so that's a huge plus, especially being able to see Maria's song (that I still can't remember its name) again, it made my heart warm. Also, I just remembered, another thing I didn't like was when Daia split herself in two to give two separate jewel chances to the girls, like CMON, I thought they would learn from season 1, no one likes this split-screen for the special stage, STOP BEING COWARDS AND MAKE GROUP JEWEL CHANCES TOO.

My frustrations aside, Episode 68 is my favorite of this bunch. I love how it picks from the last episode and it escalates things up and, even when it stumbles, it keeps itself always on a high place.

I gotta say, I was a bit scared when I saw they were using the trope of sending a character overseas in a way to resolve a conflict, but I was gladly surprised they didn't go that route. Seeing Maria trying the most to look like she's moving on so that Suzu can go chase her dreams in the US even though it hurts her so much is just great, it gives some complexity, and extra seasoning to a character that most of the time is just one thing and can be interpreted as boring or as a flat line character. Great job.

Having Meltic StAr to appear trying to aid Suzu is also great, we know Suzu has a strong bond with the Meltic girls and seeing that being used makes me happy because is a sign that the writers are aware of the relations they created in the past and that they aren't just gonna be thrown in the trash in order to force interactions with the boring main trio. I especially like the extra attention they gave to Sara since she's the perfect balance of a cool style and personality that live in harmony with her love for cute things and she's someone who, I feel, can help Suzu a lot with her issues.

Now to the stage, first I'm a little disappointed at the coords, the color scheme they were going for didn't work as well with me, I also don't like those horrible buff sleeves. But that aside I was very pleased with the performance. The first time I heard it I wasn't liking it but as the weeks went on and I would see videos of people playing prichan I started to appreciate it more and now I love this song, even though Suzu's rap seems a bit off in some verses.

I wish we had an explanation on the name Ring Marry though. Naru just goes there and name them that way and it's a bit weird. Hope we can get some insights about this someday.

Just like I've said on the Aikatsu post I won't be waiting for English subs, from now on I will watch the episodes either raw or in the French subs so that I can keep posting weekly instead of pilling up a bunch of episodes and having to catch up on them later.
