*Allison is walking to her dorm through the Penderghast quad when someone calls out behind her*
Beckett: Allison! Wait up!
*She stops when she sees her boyfriend, Beckett Harrington, racing to catch up with her. He’s breathless and flushed*
Allison: No worries. I was just going back to my dorm. What’s up?
Beckett: Well, a lot, actually. My parents host this big party every year, and, well, it’s my birthday party tonight, and I wanted to invite you as my plus-one. It’ll be the perfect opportunity to announce our relationship publicly to my family.
Allison: Wait, what? Not that I don’t want to meet your family; I do, really. It’s just...are you sure you’re ready for that? We’ve barely started dating.
Beckett: I’m very sure. I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life. *his cheeks turn red* I love you, Allison McQueen. More than anyone I’ve ever met. I want to announce it openly. I want my parents to meet the amazing, beautiful, intelligent woman who caught my eye freshman year and never strayed from it. I want them to KNOW you, Allison, the way I do. You’re my girlfriend. Will you come to my birthday party? It would mean the world to me.
Allison: Of course I’ll come! Miss my boyfriend’s birthday? Not for anything! I just didn’t think you were ready.
Beckett: I might not have been, at first, but the more I see you, the more confident I feel. I need to do this, Allison. Since we became official at Penderghast, it’s now time we become official for my family. I want to announce it at the party. My parents are very traditional when it comes to parties. They go all out, and I mean literally all out. Most of their guests are elite top-of-the-line socialites, and having you there with me will make it ten times more tolerable. I don’t think I could take schmoozing with high society for hours on end without wanting to puke.
Allison: Well, then, consider me your high-society-schmoozing escape plan of a girlfriend. I’ll rescue you from any big bad socialites that try to chat you up. No fancy schmancy girls are gonna be kissing MY man. Although I’m afraid I don’t have anything fancy enough to wear in my closet. I’ve never been to a high society event before.
Beckett: That’s actually why I was hoping to run into you. I told Katrina that I wanted to invite you as my date, and she was extremely excited. She can’t wait to see you. I have an outfit custom-ordered that is just your size, if you’d like to wear it.
Allison: Why, Beckett Harrington; did you actually get me a dress???
Beckett: *flushes again and clears his throat nervously* Actually, it was both me and Katrina. She and I went shopping in Penn Square yesterday and I saw this dress in the window of the clothing store. I think it would really bring out your Sun-Att side. You’ll literally shine in it.
Allison: A Sun-Att dress that’ll turn heads at a classy rich people birthday party? I’m totally sold. Where is it? *Beckett pulls out a garment bag from behind his back and hands it to her, and she unzips it to find a shimmering gold dress inside, along with a matching mask with sparkling beads and sequins*
Beckett: I instantly thought of you when I pointed it out to Katrina. We both agree that this is the equivalent to satin sunlight, and can only see you wearing it.
Allison: There’s a mask here. Am I going in secret identity mode?
Beckett: I forgot to tell you; it’s a masquerade ball. Only my parents would think of something so top-notch. They want what’s best for their number one student at Penderghast University. *he tries to keep his voice level, but Allison can see the irritation in his eyes* To be honest, they’ve always gone out of their way every year to give me and Katrina these huge, elaborate birthday parties. I never wanted any of it, but talking back to my dad was like talking to a wall. The Harrington family is not easily swayed. When they make up their minds, they’re made up.
Allison: So I have to make sure I impress them. I’ll try to make sure my newly-found magick doesn’t get out of control. Maybe the mask WILL help with the secret identity.
Beckett: *taking her hands and squeezing them gently* Allison, no matter what, you’ll always be impressive. Don’t worry too much about that. I’ll do the talking. You just have to be yourself. Be that bright, gorgeous Sun-Att I fell for last year. If you wear the dress we got you, everything will speak for itself. I’m impressed by you. Katrina’s impressed by you. Our parents HAVE to be impressed with that fact in play. *gazes into her eyes with desire* Now go try on the dress. We have a party to attend.
Allison: Okay, okay. I’m going, I’m going. *laughs and kisses him softly, walking back to her dorm*
Beckett: I’ll come by and get you at 7. I’ll be wearing a suit with a black and gold mask.
*Allison waves and heads inside*
*An hour before Beckett is supposed to pick her up, Allison strolls into the common room with the gold dress and mask on, and her friends instantly go into stunned silence as they stop what they’re doing to stare at her*
Allison: Oh, don’t mind me. I’m just getting ready for my date.
Shreya: Did you just say ‘date?’ *she jumps off the couch and makes a beeline for Allison* I figured that was why you looked so radiant. Allison, you’re practically glowing!
Zeph: I agree. That’s a great look on you, Allison. Who’s the lucky guy?
Allison: Seriously? Beckett’s parents are hosting a big huge masquerade ball for his birthday tonight, and he invited me as his plus-one. Katrina’s going to be there, and Beckett’s going to make an official announcement that we’re boyfriend and girlfriend.
Shreya: *clapping her hands excitedly* Oh, my god, girl, you’ve GOT to give me the deets! My Instattuned followers are going to LOVE the gossip! I was wondering why you were wearing a mask. Here; let me take a picture before Beckett shows up to snatch you away! *Allison makes several poses as Shreya clicks her compact* Yassss, girl! SLAY!
Griffin: So wait. Beckett’s parents are hosting a birthday party for him? With masks and fancy clothes? Sounds big.
Zeph: Yeah. The Harrington name does have a reputation in the Attuned community. I’ve heard rumors that their family has connections with some very powerful and wealthy people in our world, but I never believed them to be true. If you ask me, getting tangled in with high society usually doesn’t end well, especially for the lower class.
Atlas: Lower class my ass. Allison’s a SUN-ATT. She’s got magick attuned with all the elements. If anyone can outsmart a bunch of stuffy rich kids, it’s my ever-loving ass-kicking twin sister. *she slings an arm over Allison’s shoulders and grins* You got this, sis. If Harrington or any of his socialite cronies give you trouble, you call on us and we’ll be there. Knights don’t go down without a fight!
Zeph: Hell, yeah! We’ll be your backup, Allison. Not to mention your recently-evolved familiar, Tim! I’m sure he’s just waiting to turn up the heat!
Allison: Awww, thanks, guys. You’re all the best friends a girl could ask for. It’s not true friendship unless it’s the power of Knights!
Griffin: Knights rock!
*A half-hour later, there’s a knock at the door*
Shreya: Sounds like someone’s DATE is here! I’ll get it! *she rushes to the door before Allison can say anything* Well, well, look at YOU all dressed up! You’re looking FINE! Hey, McQueen! There’s a suavely-dressed masked man at the door asking for you!
Allison: I’m coming! *she holds up the end of her dress as she walks, and through her mask she can just make out Beckett, wearing his classy blue suit and the black and gold mask he’d mentioned* Whoa! My boyfriend is turning up the HEAT!
Beckett: *staring with amazement at her, his jaw dropping* Allison! You look...I mean...you...wow. You look...breathtaking!
Allison: Has my outward appearance stolen all the air from your lungs, Mr. Harrington? You usually have a lot more to say. *smirking*
Beckett: *flushing and coughing nervously* Yes. Usually. Under normal circumstances. But seeing you, in that dress, I can’t even speak in complete sentences! *flustered* You’ve put a spell on me, Allison, and it’s not from your magick.
Allison: So I’ve reduced the great Beckett Harrington to stunned silence and scattered words. Consider me impressed. And by the way, the dress fits perfectly. I don’t know how you and Katrina managed.
Beckett: Well. Shall we then? *holds out his arm to her and she takes it willingly*
Zeph: Hey, Beckett! Make sure she has the time of her life and don’t let any snobby rich people take advantage of her! We want all the details when you two get back! We’re not letting our friends get taken down!
Beckett: I already know that, Zephyr. My intention was to take care of her the entire time. It’s my birthday, and my parents are going to meet my girlfriend. Believe me; if ANYONE says or does anything to her, I’ll be there.
*The trip to the party happens so quickly that Allison doesn’t have a chance to ask questions. Before she knows it, she’s stumbling back on to solid ground after hanging on to Beckett tightly*
Allison: What just happened? Did you use ward magick?
Beckett: *catches her quickly before she falls* It was a simple act of teleportation. I’m sorry it couldn’t be smoother; I’m afraid I’m rather rusty at conjuring the spell. It’s been awhile. Are you all right? *looks concerned*
Allison: I’m fine. Just a bit wobbly. My air-legs haven’t settled yet. *she looks around in awe at all the well-dressed people walking into the equally-awe-inspiring venue* This is your birthday party? It looks more like a royal ball. With the masquerade theme, of course.
Beckett: As I said before, my parents go all out for our parties. They want to make sure we get the best of the best. Our family name has huge importance out here. *he laces his fingers with hers and gazes at her adoringly, and she squeezes his hand* Ready?
Allison: As I’ll ever be. Let’s meet the fam.
*Classical music is playing inside, and important-looking Attuned are milling about. Even in the dress and mask, Allison starts to feel out of place. She scans the room with a nervous look. Beckett seems to sense her discomfort and grasps her hand tighter to silently remind her that he’s right there with her*
Woman: Ah! Beckett! Darling, you made it! Come on over and say hello to our friends! *a woman who can only be Mrs. Harrington takes Beckett’s arm and practically pulls him across the floor, not even acknowledging Allison*
Beckett: Mom! A warning would be nice...!?
Mrs. Harrington: Come on, birthday boy! You must meet the Meyer family! They just offered your father an excellent deal!
Beckett: Mom! I’m here with someone! *he manages to look apologetically back at Allison as he’s dragged away, and Allison loses the rest of the conversation*
Allison: I’ll just wait here. *she slowly moves away from the crowd along the back wall, observing the guests in their finest, masks disguising their faces. Her magick stirs within her, sending out uneasy auras around the room. Even with the coverings over their eyes, Allison gets bad vibes from many of the attendees, almost as if their cold gazes are judging her* I guess it’s good I wore this dress. At least I don’t feel like a complete standout. But why did Beckett’s mom totally ignore me? It’s like I didn’t even exist.
*She moves closer to where Beckett is standing with his mother, and even with a mask on, she can recognize Katrina, the older Harrington sibling and her current professor at Penderghast. The two are talking with an older gentleman, an unrecognizable red headed girl, and another man who is suspected to be Mr. Harrington*
Mr. Harrington: That is definitely a great offer, Milton. I’ll keep in touch. Have you met my son, Beckett? He’s the guest of honor tonight.
Mystery Man: Ah, yes, the young Harrington Junior. I hear it’s your birthday. How do you do?
Allison: [How do you do? Just when I thought this party couldn’t be any fancier; the formalities are too much!] *she can see that Beckett is fidgeting, clearly looking very uncomfortable*
Beckett: Yes, how do you do? It’s a pleasure to meet you. Now if you’ll excuse me, there’s someone I need to get back to.
Mrs. Harrington: Beckett, don’t be rude.
Beckett: I’m not... *Katrina quickly hisses at him*
Katrina: Is Allison here?
Beckett: Yes, she is. I brought her in and Mom completely ignored her! You should see her. She looks stunning in the dress we picked out. *his eyes start roving the room, looking around for her, and Katrina also appears to take notice* I left her standing near the entrance, alone. That’s why I need to get back to her.
Katrina: I can’t wait for your announcement! So you two are officially an item now?
Beckett: We are. I’ve been thinking about how to approach this, and I figured that my birthday party was the perfect place to break the news. I only hope Mom and Dad can see her the way I do.
Katrina: She has obviously changed you for the better, Bean. I’ve never seen you this happy like ever.
Beckett: She makes me happy. She has this effect on me; I don’t know exactly what it is, but whenever I’m in her presence, I just want to stare at her all day. Besides, she’s an amazing kisser.
Katrina: You two are adorable together. I’m secretly hoping that one day she’ll be my sister-in-law.
Mr. Harrington: What are you two discussing here?
Katrina: Oh, nothing. Just Beckett’s upcoming announcement. *she winks at her brother and he blushes*
Mr. Harrington: Oh, really? Well. I can’t wait to hear what my boy has to say. This is your night to shine, son.
Beckett: Yeah. No pressure, right? *Mr. Harrington glances over at his friend Milton, who gives him an affirming nod*
Mrs. Harrington: Everyone, may I have your attention, please? *her voice suddenly projects across the room, clearly a conjured spell, and the conversation dies down as all eyes center on her. She grips Beckett’s shoulder and pulls him close* Since this is my son Beckett’s birthday, we wish to thank all of you for being here to celebrate with us tonight!
Allison: Woohoo! Happy birthday, Beckett!
Mrs. Harrington: The guest of honor will take the floor momentarily to give his birthday speech, but first, his father and I have a special surprise. *excited murmurs break out, and Mrs. Harrington turns to the family* Miss Meyer, would you come over here?
*The unknown red headed girl steps over to Mrs. Harrington’s other side and looks out at the crowd*
Beckett: Mom? What’s going on? *he stares at his mother with utter confusion, and then his eyes fall on the girl*
Mrs. Harrington: *her hand not leaving his shoulder* For his birthday this year, we have decided to give Beckett an extra special gift, and it’s one that cannot be wrapped up in any magickal paper. On behalf of our family and by special permission from Milton Meyer of the Meyer-Freed fortune, we present Miss Ashley Meyer...Beckett’s new fiancée!
*For a second, there’s silence, and then the whole room breaks out in applause and cheers. The noise is so loud that it practically drowns out the gasps of horror and shock from the three people reeling from the news*
Beckett: What?!
Allison: What?!
Katrina: What?!
*Mrs. Harrington has just dropped an unexpected bombshell! Beckett’s birthday party has just become his engagement party...to a girl he doesn’t even know! What will this mean for his upcoming announcement...and Allison and Beckett’s relationship? Keep playing to find out!*

Kim Namjoon
“Guys, let’s not mess around so much that we forget the cues, okay?” Namjoon gently suggested as the group of sweaty men jogged off the stage. “Yeah, you’re right, sorry,” Hoseok apologized. “It’s fine, don’t worry about it.” Namjoon was barely listening at this point. His eyes searched for you, but he found the chair he left you in at the edge of the stage empty.
As he wiped the sweat off of his forehead, he figured he had some time to go look for you since his solo song was last and Jimin hadn’t even gone up yet. He walked around all of backstage until he heard sniffling. Confused, he followed the sound and if anything, grew concerned when he saw your body hiding under a table of snacks, tears sliding down your cheeks as your fingers were plugged into your ears.
“Baby? What’s wrong?” he asked as he knelt down and sat in front of you. He reached out to touch your knee but you recoiled back into the wall, shaking your head quickly. Namjoon was hurt, but he was more concerned with how you were acting. Maybe it’s one of those migraines you always get? But there was no reason for you to not want him to touch you.
“Y/n,” he said in a soft, gentle voice. “Please talk to me. What happened?” Your body shook a bit as you wiped your eyes. Slowly with full uncertainty, you took your fingers out of your ears. Namjoon watched you with worried eyes. You took some deep breaths to calm yourself down.
“Do you want some water?” he asked. You shook your head. “Y/n, what just happened?” he asked. You let out a soft sigh. “I told you they were migraines....but I lied,” you explained softly. He wasn’t mad, though. Just worried. “I’ve been like this since I was a kid. I have sensory issues. The lights and the flashing and the loudness,” you managed to get out. He had a feeling about what that was, but he knew he needed to do research on it.
“What can I do to help you right now? What do you need?” he asked in a gentle voice. “Can you just sit here with me for a little bit?” you asked in a hopeful voice. He knew he might get called up to perform soon, but he had some time to relax. So, he nodded and sat across from you, listening to you tell your story and shooing away anyone who tried to disturb you.

Min Yoongi
Yoongi wasn’t stupid. He was observant. Though he wasn’t always showing his emotions, you, on the other hand, did a lot of the time. He would notice how you would kind of close into yourself whenever you were out in public and how whenever it got loud, you would cover your ears immediately and ignore everyone.
He never really asked you about it because he didn’t know how to form the question and he didn’t want to cross any boundaries. So, in a way to avoid you having a little episode, he stuck close to you when he took you to the dorms for a movie night. He figured this would be chill and lowkey and that you would be able to be okay.
And for a while, you were.
You sat on Yoongi’s lap towards the end of the couch, curled up under a blanket as he held you close, barely even watching the movie. If anything, he was drifting off, and you noticed and thought it was actually quite adorable. So, you didn’t bother him and continued watching the movie in the calm environment.
That was until the maknae line got overly excited over a song playing in the movie. Taehyung jumped up on the couch, using the remote as a makeshift mic as he screamed the lyrics into it. That woke Yoongi right up. Jimin ran around the living room as he screamed the chorus, Jungkook joining in as he snatched the remote from Taehyung and put it to his lips.
Yoongi was amused, but that was until your shaking figure brought him out of his thoughts. The blanket was now over your head as you tried to hide away from the noise. Fuck, he thought.
“Out! Everyone out!” he shouted, hating the fact that he had to raise his voice because he knew you didn’t like that, but there was no way they would hear him over the music. Everyone stopped and looked at him, confused more than anything.
His eyes motioned towards your shaking figure and suddenly the boys pieced it together. Quietly, they all left the living room.
Yoongi rubbed your back, only being able to imagine how scared you probably felt. “They’re gone. It’s quiet. You’re okay,” he kept repeating in a soothing voice. You took your fingers out of your ears and slowly peeked your head out from under the covers. “How do you feel?” he asked, softly stroking the hair that fell over your face. Your cheeks began to heat up as you felt embarrassed.
“Let’s go to bed, hm? This movie is boring the hell out of me anyway,” Yoongi joked, causing you to smile a bit. You nodded. He lifted your body and held you close as he carried you to his room, giving a look to the boys huddled in the hallway before closing the door. He put you on his bed and crawled under the covers, pulling your body close to him. Usually, he would be the big spoon and put his face in your neck, but tonight, he needed to look at you. He needed to see for his own eyes that you were okay.

Jung Hoseok
When Hoseok said he wanted to travel the world with you, you jumped with joy and agreed, exciting about the impending adventures you two would go on together. You and Hoseok had been together for two years now and he wanted you to see the world before he decided to settle down with you in Korea.
You were all for his plans, but you didn’t even think about the bad aspects of them. Travel. Airports. Hoseok couldn’t get through the store without having fans snapping pictures and going up for autographs, so the airport? There was no doubt in your mind that hundreds of fans would gather.
And you were painfully right. As you sat in the car outside the airport entrance, the car, you could hear the screams of teen girls from inside. Hoseok knew about your sensory issues and he was so excited with planning this that he didn’t even take that into consideration. And he hated himself for that. But he also knew how excited you were to see the world, so he didn’t cancel the trip solely because you really wanted to go.
Turning to you, he took your hands in his.
“Hey, we just have to make it through security and then we’re going to be on our way to France and Italy and all of the places we planned to go. Just stay close to me. I’ll protect you, I promise,” he said before placing a kiss on your hands. You nodded. Holding your hand tight, Hoseok got out of the car and walked with you to the entrance, exchanging nods with security.
And it was as if all hell broke loose. Fans pushed against security, consequently causing the security to push up against you. And it was so loud. You couldn’t even hear your own thoughts. And while you wanted to plug your ears and try to drown out the sounds, you didn’t want to let go of Hoseok’s hand in fear that you would get lost. But just when you saw a clearing in the crowd, you made a break for it, letting go of Hoseok’s hand and running straight for the women’s bathroom. It had to be quiet in there.
Hoseok watched you with fearful eyes, but broke into a sprint after you, shoving the bathroom door open as he saw you squatting in the corner, your fingers in your ears. “Baby, baby, it’s quiet in here. It’s okay,” he said, approaching you slowly. He knew you didn’t like to be touched in situations like this, so he kept his distance.
“Just take deep breaths. It’s quiet baby.” You listened to his soothing voice and regulated your breathing, slowly taking your fingers out of your ears. It was silent. “Excuse me, this is the ladies room,” some snobby sounding woman said when she entered it. Hoseok ignored her and took a few steps towards you. You gave him a small nod and he engulfed you in a hug, multiple kisses placed on your cheeks.
“We’re basically at the security check. And they can’t follow us past there.” You nodded into his chest. “I can practically smell all the croissants we’re going to eat!” he exclaimed, causing you to laugh.
Tumblr media
Jeon Jungkook
“Baby, please,” Jungkook whined like a child, tugging on your hand as a way to pull you off the couch. “Jungkook, arcades aren’t really my thing,” you explained, not really wanting to get into why you really didn’t want to go. “Come on, I need support from the world’s greatest girlfriend!” he said, causing you to laugh. He looked so cute and you wanted to comply, you really did. But arcades meant noise and flashing lights.
He stuck out his bottom lip and began to pout, getting on his knees and putting his hands in a prayer position. “Jungkook, you’re such a child,” you teased. “I am a child and children love arcades. Thanks for making that connection, babe.” You laughed. “Fine, fine. Only for an hour,” you said, causing his head to nod quickly before attaching his lips to yours. “I knew you would come around. Can we go now, though?” he asked a cute little pout on his lips. You nodded as he pulled you off of the couch.
On the drive to the arcade, you tried to think of a way in which you could just hide out in the bathroom for the duration of the time. Jungkook gets so into his games that he wouldn’t notice you were gone. And you had your plan set in place.
But that was until Jungkook dragged you over to a game and asked you to play with him. “It’ll be so fun!” he exclaimed. You nodded, not even realizing what you were doing since your mind and thoughts were so preoccupied in everything going on around you.
You sat next to him and tried to focus on the game, ignore everything else, but you couldn’t help it anymore. You dropped the remote and brought your knees to your chest, burying your head in your legs, squeezing them together in an attempt to block the sound from entering your ears. It was too loud. And all of the explosions in the game caused flashing lights to blind your vision.
Jungkook looked over at you worried and paused the game, turning all of his attention to you. “What’s wrong?” he asked, never having seen you like this before. You tried your hardest to block out every sound possible, and Jungkook noticed how you had your ears covered, so he figured that it was too loud for you or something like that. So, picking you up in your ball-like form, he carried you out of the arcade and sat you down on a bench.
He looked over at you, not knowing what to say or do. Eventually, you decided to take the chance and hope it still wasn’t loud. So, as you took your head out from in between your legs, you became happy when you realized it wasn’t loud anymore. If anything, the chirping of the birds in nearby trees calmed your nerves.
“Y/n?” Jungkook said, wary of making you upset. “What just happened? Are you okay?” You nodded slowly, turning to look at him. And you knew you had no choice but to explain what was wrong. And he listened with wide eyes, trying to take in all this information. After you were done talking, he just kind of looked at you for a second.
“I’m sorry.”
“Jungkook, don’t say that. It’s okay. You didn’t know.”
He gave a sad smile but shook his head. “That game sucked ass anyway,” you joked, causing him to chuckle. “Yeah. It did.”

Hi, i know that not many people like it but.. i really like the fics like enemies to lovers, something with bullying and ect. I just enjoy sad stuff that as time goes on it gets better. Like with the bullying, one is bullied, the other saves the day. Enemies to lovers, they hurt each other at first but then they heal the wounds. Lol this was long. I'm asking for those kind of fics.. if you don't want to answer i completely understand! Have a great day!
oh darling. listen. you are NOT alone. you are not. i love these fics and so does @londonfoginacup! i sent a screenshot of this ask to a gc when you first sent it talking about how i felt bad i wasn’t able to answer it right away, and emmu immediately said she could help. i didn’t look up anything myself from this rec, these are all ones emmu sent and outside of the...three maybe?...that i haven’t read, i cosign it! she even found some i read when i first joined the fandom and didn’t have an ao3 to save them to OR i had an ao3 and didn’t understand bookmarks yet. so basically, thank you for sending this, and here are the fics emmu recs and i say AMEN! i hope there’s some in here that are what you’re looking for that possibly you haven’t read yet.
they are kind of divided by enemies to lovers that ease into bullying fics as you go down the list, but to be honest i’m just sending them to you in the order that emmu sent them to me haha enjoy!!
Through a Mirror Dimly by @londonfoginacup / LadyLondonderry
Louis Tomlinson, in his third year at university, does not expect nor want the roommate that is being assigned to his room.
Harry Styles, in his first year at university, has just been kicked out of one dorm and doesn't want to deal with yet another snobby, rich roommate.
They don't get along, and that's just how it is, until circumstances force them to reevaluate.
Driving On The Wrong Side, Thinking Of You by @dinosaursmate / dinosaursmate
“Marcel, darling, why don’t you take Louis to your room and play on your computer?”
Louis’ heart sunk. He would defend Marcel from an infinite amount of gay jokes but it didn’t mean he wanted to spend time with him. They didn’t exactly have anything in common.
“Um, okay,” Marcel said, sounding as reluctant as Louis and slightly miserable.
“If- if you want to.”
“Sure.”---Louis is the most popular guy in sixth form. Don't get the wrong idea, he's a good guy, and he absolutely won't stand for his friends teasing his neighbour, Marcel.

Pour Your Heart Out by @hrrytomlinson / hrrytomlinson
Louis is his soulmate. Or at least Harry thinks he is. Louis feels the same as Louis. But there are a lot of people named Louis in the world and this Louis might not be the Louis. It’s besides the point though, because Harry knows he can’t allow himself to get close to any boys. He just can’t and he’s told himself this multiple times. He has to simply stay away from Louis Tomlinson. But he can’t. Harry Styles can never stay away from Louis Tomlinson. It’s physically impossible for him to.
Love Is a Kitten from Hell by youbeyou
Louis Tomlinson passes himself off as an arrogant prick at his new school to hide the fact that he's terrified of being bullied again. Just when he's getting tired of putting up walls, he finds himself in a local pet shop where he finds a sanctuary playing with the kittens in the front window.
Harry Styles is the popular football player who works at the pet shop, secretly watching the boy he thought was utterly unlikable prove him wrong.
Partnered together for a class project, Harry gets more and more hints that Louis is actually someone worth getting to know. But the real question is, will Louis let Harry in?

Harry gets known to everyone else as the annoying kid who was "rude" to Louis, but to Louis himself, he's stuck on one question. Should he leave the boy as a loner, or become his lover?
Love is like this; not a heartbeat, but a moan by @angelichl /angelichl
"He hates this, more than anything in the world he hates this. His title, his rank, his DNA. Unchangeable. Fated.
And then there’s Harry, born to be unobjectively superior to Louis and all other O’s. Unlike other A’s, Harry doesn’t wear his alpha-ness very well. He’s clumsy with it, like walking around in a pair of shoes a size too big. His life is defined by uncertainty and tentativeness, and those are definitely not qualities alphas should have.
Sometimes, when Louis ponders it for too long, he thinks that maybe Harry resents being an A just as much as Louis resents being an O."
In which Harry loves Louis, but Louis has been cold to him ever since he presented as an omega at age fifteen. Eight years later, Louis approaches Harry with a request, and who is Harry to deny him?
Make It Work by fanshae
Prompt: Arranged marriage AU. Harry is an omega who has reached the age where he must be married due to his family's income status. Only the aristocratic omegas are exempt. His parents try to hide him but eventually the government gets word and in punishment, gives the omega to a spoiled aristocrat son of a lord, Louis. Louis is more than thrilled to have his own omega and once Harry goes into heat, he explores the boy with fascination and unintentionally impregnates him. This leads to a boy used to living carefree and drinking the day away with other nobles to having to face fatherhood.

Harry Styles may have had his doubts at first, but by the time the gates to the elephant sanctuary came into view he was one hundred percent positive. Louis Tomlinson hated his guts. Like hated, hated. Like loathed-him-on-sight hated.
From what Harry could tell, he hadn’t even done anything close to insulting enough to warrant the disdain that was Louis Tomlinson’s default expression whenever he looked at Harry. It really wasn’t fair. Especially since he’d been lusting after the man from the second he’d laid eyes on that pretty, pretty face with those pretty, pretty eyes.
Or ... the one where Harry Styles has a bad reputation and a heart of gold, and Louis Tomlinson wishes he wasn't so enchanted by boys who looked like Disney characters and wore shirts with bumble bees on them.
[aka Louis is the director of the Styles Elephant Sanctuary and really doesn't want to babysit his funder's spoiled lay-about son for two months]

It was a nice thought, and he must have dozed off to it, because the next thing he was aware of was wet and cold.
Harry shot up in the bed. His hair was dripping, soaked curls hanging in front of his eyes. Droplets of water ran down his bare chest. The sheets and blanket were damp.
Louis stood next to the bed with a smug grin. In one hand he was holding an empty glass.
About thirty minutes later, Harry was parked outside the football pitch. Louis climbed out of the car, duffle bag slung over his shoulder.
He waved at Harry and blew him a kiss as he walked away. Harry flipped him off.
Or the one where Harry hates Louis, he's almost sure Louis hates him, and they live together. Driving him to football practice everyday is not apart of Harry's plans, but Louis is pretty adamant if it means annoying Harry.
don’t believe me just watch by ariadne_odair
The thing is, Louis knows Harry’s name. Harry knows he does. Harry corrects him every time. Repeatedly. Politely. Slightly hysterically that time he’d walked in on Louis sucking a boy off in the toilets.
Uni AU were Harry strongly dislikes the footie captain that calls him Henry no matter how many times Harry corrects him and is unfairly gorgeous. Friends meet friends and somehow they end up alone at Niall's New Years Eve party. Louis says things he wouldn't sober. And do things.

“He was flirting with you by the way,” Niall says casually once he’s finished saying goodbye to Louis and he’s joined Harry outside.
“No he wasn’t,” Harry replies automatically, feeling his heart clench at the thought. Was he?
Niall simply raises a mocking eyebrow in response before wrapping his scarf twice around his neck.
“Not that it matters!” Harry says quickly, eyes widening. “I wouldn’t care even if he did because he’s awful and the worst.”
Everyone at Hogwarts knows that Professor Styles and Professor Tomlinson absolutely despise each other. It's too bad that they're in love.

Babydoll and Lassie.
--
Three days had passed since Chibs was reuinited with his family and things were changing pretty quickly. The Scottish male had gotten back together with his estranged wife Fiona and was giving their marriage another go since there was nothing standing in the way anymore. Fiona and Kerrianne were crashing at Chibs' house as they planned on staying in Charming for a couple weeks or so. Chibs felt awful and guilty for breaking off his 'thing' with Rissa and instantly getting into a relationship with his wife. He knew she deserved so much better than that, than him... Maybe it was for the best?
Roxxie's love life had also taken a new turn recently. After having sex with Tig the other night, the pair of them could hardly keep their hands off of each other! But they made sure to do it discreetly since it was only just sex and it wasn't like they were in a relationship. Roxxie was annoyed at herself for being so interested in the crazy and sleazy biker. But man, he knew how to please her. Besides, they were only having some fun. It wasn't a big deal... When Roxxie and Tig were around people, they acted their normal argumentative and sarcastic selves, but when they were alone... Well they acted the same but with far much more sex and passion.
While her friend and ex lover's lives became fun and exciting, Rissa life was a big stupid mess. Fiona and Kerrianne had now been in Charming for a few days and everyone, except Rissa and Roxxie, were quite happy about it. Seeing Chibs happy was great... But seeing him with another woman hurt her heart every single time. Plus, Fiona was a total bitch and made it crystal clear that she didn't like Rissa. Everyone knew it. So, Rissa had decided that acting like Chibs and his family didn't exist was the best plan, that way she wouldn't cause trouble between the insane Irish women and the sweet Scotsman. The girl put on a brave face and acted like she was fine, but what she didn't realise was how much of a bad job she was doing. She didn't cry or break down like everyone assumed she would. Instead, she got blackout drunk every night, wore clothes she'd never usually wore and right now she was inside a small and surprisingly clean tattoo studio. The tattoo studio was totally not what she imagined one would be. Growing up with a snobby and judgy mother made her believe tattoos were gross and insanitary. But this plan was squeaky clean and aesthetically pleasing. "Tattoo virgin huh?" The man, who was covered head to toe in tattoos asked her with a chuckle. "Yep." Rissa replied, emphasising the 'p'. It didn't take her long to decide what she was having and where she'd get it and before she could talk herself out of it, she got prepped and ready to be inked. Rissa had picked a quote that said; "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." It's a statement to live your life without fear of judgement because your actions won't always make sense to people who don't understand the circumstances. And right now, that quote seemed very fitting. She knew that no one at the Clubhouse understood why she was drinking so much or acting different. But if she didn't put on the brave, party girl act, she'd never leave the dorm and she'd sleep as much as she could just so she didn't have to deal with her thoughts.
The man had been working on her piece for a few hours now and was just adding the finishing touches to her skin. Rissa bit down on her lip as the tattoo guy hit a painful spot on her ribcage, she was so ready for this to be over. It didn't hurt as much as she assumed but it definitely made her wince a couple times. Her prayers were answered when the man placed the tattoo gun down on a little metal table beside him. "All done beautiful." The man said, making Rissa let out a happy sigh. Rissa jumped off the tattoo table and ran over to the mirror, excited to see her first ever tattoo. Her eyes widened and she grinned as she stared at her ink. It was better than she imagined it would be. "Thanks so much, I love it." She said, looking back at the tattoo artist. The man gave her a smile. "Anything else I can do for ya?" He asked as Rissa brought out the money from her bag. "Not right now thanks, but I'm sure I'll be back." -- 2 hours later, Rissa was back at the Clubhouse and slightly drunk, which probably wasn't the best of ideas since she'd just gotten a tattoo. But try telling that to the stubborn girl and you'll get a bloody nose. People had wondered where Rissa spent her morning, especially Roxxie. She was curious as hell and a little worried since Rissa's change in behaviour was a bit all over the place at the moment. "Come on, tell me?" Roxxie whined as she poured Rissa another drink. She was stood behind the bar serving a couple of regulars. The brunette looked around the somewhat busy room. Happy and Tig were playing pool, Bobby was sat on a couch daydreaming, Jax was sat at the other end of the bar and Kozik was sat beside her. Luckily Chibs wasn't there, he was probably spending time with his witch of a wife. Rissa turned back to her friend and gave her a grin. "Right okay, i was gonna wait to tell you but.... I was at a tattoo parlor!" Rissa said with excitment in her voice. "Fuck off, no way!" Roxxie exclaimed making everyone jump. "You always said you'd never get a tattoo." She furrowed her brows, slightly suspiscious. "You have to show us? Where is it? Is it in a private place?" The older blond male said, butting into the girls conversation and winking at Rissa. Rissa smirked. "I just wake up and had the idea to get a tattoo so... That's what I did." The brunette said right before necking back the rest of her drink. "Who even are you?" Roxxie said as she shook her head, she didn't even recognise the person her bestfriend was becoming and she didn't like it. It scared her a little. "Show usssss" Kozik piped up again. Rissa stood up so everyone could get a good view, she pulled her shirt over her head, leaving her stood there in just her bra and her denim shorts. "Happy now?" She raised a brow. "Did someone say my name?" The serious bald male said from across the room, his eyes landing on the brunette. "Damn.." He muttered, staring at the girl's ink. She looked even hotter than before. Rissa sat back down, not even bothering to put her shirt back on. "Another drink please, Roxxiepops." She pushed her empty glass towards her friend. Roxxie rolled her eyes."Call me that again and i will tattoo 'I'm A Cunt' on your forehead when you're sleeping." The red head replied with a warning in her tone of voice. "You know, I think it's really cool." Kozik said as he eyed up Rissa. "Sexy even." Just as Rissa was about to reply, the Clubhouse door opened and in walked the last person she wanted to see. "Ayyy, are you all partyin' without me?" Chibs said in his thick Scottish accent. He walked over to the bar and took a seat next to Jax, deciding that he'd leave Rissa be. She deserved that at least. But once he noticed she was sat with no shirt on, drinking out of a vodka bottle and getting too close to Kozik, he felt anger and jealously rise up inside him. "I know I definitely want more now." Rissa said to Kozik, ignoring a certain male's presence. Kozik nodded. "They are addictive, once you have one there is no going back." He sipped on his drink before speaking again. "And you'd look hot as fuck with more." He teased. Rissa's lips curled up into a smirk at the blond's comment. "Tell me about yours?" She began tracing the one on his neck with her finger, leaning against his body. "Oh erm..." Kozik paused and glanced over to Chibs, who was watching their every move. "Maybe another time darlin', think we are making someone a lil jel." He whispered in her ear before getting up and walking to the pool table, making sure to give her a little wink before he did. Rissa sighed and for the first time since he had walked in, she looked over to the Scotsman. He was looking straight back at her, his face softening as he did. "Get ya shirt back on before you give one of these old men a heart attack." Roxxie said, pulling Rissa out of her little moment with Chibs and throwing the piece of clothing at her friend.. Chibs and Jax went on to have their own conversation before things got awkward. "One condition... Only if you get your butt round here and get drunk with me." Rissa gave Roxxie a sweet smile which made her laugh. Roxxie grabbed another bottle and took a seat beside her friend. "You don't have to ask me twice." She let out a laugh, maybe she could get used to this side of her friend afterall. -- A couple hours later, the red head was dancing in the middle of a couple of croweaters and bikers. She wasn't even that drunk for once! She had had a few drinks, but she was still in control of herself. Roxxie happily sung and danced along to the music, surrounded by her friends and family. Over the past few days, her mood had completely changed. Rather than constantly feeling on edge, jealous, depressed, she was actually starting to feel somewhat okay... The feeling of hands grabbing hold of her hips broke Roxxie out of her thoughts. She looked over her shoulders and saw the serious-faced bald man. Roxxie giggled and twirled around so she was facing him and then wrapped her arms around his shoulders. Roxxie and Happy danced together without a care in the world. Well that was until Roxxie caught sight of an angry Tig watching her every move. The girl's brows furrowed when noticing Tig at the other end of the room, why did he look like he was about to throw a temper tantrum? She mouthed 'what' to him, which he either didn't know how to lip-read or he just was ignoring her. Roxxie's lips curled up into a smirk when wondering if Tig's mardyness was because he was jealous. Part of her wanted to really get it on with Happy just to see what Tig's reaction would be. But the other part of her wanted to give him a piece of her soul to let him know that she only wants him... But that was only because she enjoyed having sex with him... Right?
"Hap? Can we go somewhere and talk?" Roxxie asked the bald biker, moving out of his grip. "I kinda need to talk to you?" Happy nodded and silently followed the ginger girl outside of the Clubhouse. Once they were away from the noise, Roxxie turned to him and sighed. "Um, i, uh... Fucking you was great!" Roxxie exclaimed, using her hand actions as she spoke. "It really was. You know what you're doin'..." She awkwardly looked down at her feet. "But i think that we need to cool off, y'know? The biker kept his serious facade, listening to the rambling girl. "I don't know why i'm acting as if i'm breaking up with you.." Roxxie let out an awkward laugh. "Basically, i don't want to fuck you anymore. Or kiss you.. Or flirt with you and stuff.. But it was fun being with you!" Roxxie wanted to run away and hide away forever, god this was so awkward and embarrassing. Not just because she was telling Happy she didn't want to have sex with him anymore, but because she was doing it for Tig! "That's cool." Happy said with a nod. "Let me know if you change your mind, yeah?" Before Roxxie could reply, the man turned around and went back inside. Roxxie sighed heavily and sparked up a cigarette. Man, that was cringeworthy. -- Later that night, the clubhouse was pretty much empty now. After hours of drinking, dancing and smoking, most people had left, Roxxie included. She had told Rissa she was getting tired and wanted to stay over at Gemma and Clay's. But unbeknown to her brunette friend, Roxxie had actually gone back to Tig's house. Rissa was still in the main hall drinking herself silly. She had had quite a good night... Kind of? She had hit a new level of drunk and couldn't remember half the things that had happened today.. So she just assumed she had a good night. "Drinking on ya own is no fun, you know." Kozik called to the girl, walking over to the bar and taking a seat beside her. She looked up at the man and sighed. Gosh, he was pretty. "Drinkkkkkkk with me then?" Rissa replied with a smirk. The blonde male sighed and ran a hand through his hair. How could he say no to her? "You are going to get me in trouble, girl." He chuckled, grabbing a bottle of beer. Rissa let out a small giggle, drinking from the half empty bottle of vodka she and Roxxie had started earlier in the day. "Youu ar-re reallyyyyyyyyy hotttt." She slurred, before leaning in to kiss the male. "Woah baby, you are far too drunk for this!" Kozik pulled away quickly, much to Rissa's disappointment. "I'd loved to rip your clothes off and have you all to myself, but my names not Tig and I like it when my girls know what they are doing." He joked. Rissa groaned in annoyance. Didn't he find her attractive enough or something? "C'mon, let's get you to bed." Kozik said, downing the last of his beer before putting his arms around the beautiful mess and helping to her dorm. Kozik pushed open the door and helped Rissa inside, gently placing her onto the bed. Rissa lay back as Kozik took off her shoes. She lifted up her head and looked at the man with a sad expression on her face. "Am I pretty?" A drunk Rissa managed to mumble out. The man gave her a smile and took a seat beside her on the bed. "Sugar, you are fucking stunning." He reached up and tucked her messy hair behind her ear. "Kiss me then?" Rissa's eyes closed as she spoke. She felt so undesirable after everything with Chibs. Kozik sighed, he wanted to kiss her so bad, but he'd much rather wait until she was sober to do it. He placed a small kiss on her forehead before getting up and leaving her to sleep. Once the brunette heard the door close she jumped up from the bed and hurried to find her phone. She wanted to feel loved and wanted! And she knew there was only one man who could do that... When finding her phone, Rissa dialed the number she knew all to well and waited impatiently for the person to answer her call. "Hello?" The gruff male voice on the other end said. "Do you still love me?" Was all Rissa said. "Clarrisa?" The man asked. "Tell me you still love and want me?" Tears began falling down her face when hearing him say her name. She had missed the sound of his voice. "Of course I do baby, I always will." "Then why did you hurt me so much, Elliot?!" As if she sobered up suddenly, she realised what she was doing and quickly hung up the call and threw her phone across the room. She collapsed to the floor, balling her eyes out. What had she done?! How could she have done that?! She could barely breathe, it felt like the world was caving in, it felt like she was dying! She knew that feeling very well.. She was having a panic attack. The door opened and she hoped her Scotsman had come to her rescue, but instead the arms that wrapped around her were unfamiliar, the chest her head was buried in didn't smell like whiskey and cigarette smoke. It wasn't him, It wasn't Chibs. "Hey, shush it's okay, you're okay." A voice told her. Rissa looked up at the person who's arms she was in and saw Kozik. She tried to speak but no words came out, instead she began to sob uncontrollably. She knew that her calling Elliot would come back to bite her in the ass... It was just a matter of time.

Philophobi- Chapter 2
01:
02:
Surprisingly in my mind college life seemed a lot more adventures than what it has turned out to be so far these first two weeks. Basically my routine is Monday, and Thursday I have classes and every night I waitress at the restaurant I work at. The job is only part time and I have to work on weekends every now and then but it is a lot better than the diner I was working in before. At least at the restaurant it was a little bit busier and the customers weren't as rough, though snobby at least you weren't scared of being kidnapped. Sure you got the occasional guy that tried to flirt but that all seemed harmless compared to what would happen at the diner. One time one of my co-workers got held at knife point because the customer didn't have money. Thankfully I never had to deal with situations like that.
The only problem about working at the restaurant is that because it is night shifts I don't end up finishing until eleven thirty and that is on a week night, on weekends we tend to stay open until one am in the morning, and Mia refuses to let me get a train at this hour so I have to pay money for an uber.
Thankfully though I worked last weekend so I get this weekend free. Another good thing about New York so far is that with Mia having Tyler as a boyfriend she is always doing something and I always get to tag along. Tonight is Tyler's younger brothers birthday so he is throwing him a party at his apartment. Since I have nothing better to do I am being dragged along but am just praying that Mia doesn't try setting me up with another guy. When she told me about the birthday party earlier this week I couldn't help but groan. I told her that I was getting annoyed with her set ups only to be informed that this party was going to be very small and formal so she wouldn't plan it. She said that there would be eighty people max and majority of them would be family. It was also going to be her first time meeting Tyler's parents meaning she was too busy freaking out on making a good first impression that she didn't even think twice about me. Although she did insist that I dress up but other than that she barley gave me a second thought.
"You don't think it's too slutty?" She panics as she plays around with the low cut of her dress. It didn't show anything off because frankly Mia had nothing to show off.
The tight white lace dress that was probably supposed to come off as sultry came off innocent looking one her just like everything else.
"It looks good!" I assure her not planning on telling her the jokes I was making in my head. She didn't need me making her feel bad while she was under so much stress. In any other situation I would never bite my tongue but today I knew better than to mess around.
Mia had a total of two boyfriends in the past. Jimmy Patrick in eighth grade who dumped her two weeks after they shared their first kiss and Zac Noark who was a junior when she was a sophomore and only broke up with her when he moved away for college on a football scholarship. They dated for a whole two years and she even lost her virginity to him, which was very important to her, but I hadn't seen her as crazy about him as she was for Tyler. She really liked him a lot and tonight meant the world to her. As her best friend I needed to help her as much as I could, even if that meant pulling on a black dress and pair of heels and offering moral support.
"Relax." I hurry to her side in the mirror as she begins to hyperventilate. I don't know how she can work herself up so easily on such simple things. What Tyler's parents think of her will not change the way Tyler looks at her but I don't tell her that. Something in the back of my head tells me that will only make her freak out more.
I place my hands reassuringly on her shoulders as I stare at her reflection in the mirror. I practice some breathing exercises with her which helps her calm down a little.
"You are the most down to earth person I have ever met. His parents will adore you!" I predict and I am sure I am right. Everyone at home always loved Mia but just never befriended her because they all hated me.
I still wonder why she chose to be so close to me instead of all the friends she made at school but never asked. I am not in for that kind of drama besides then I would seem insecure, and being insecure makes you look weak. It's better to just not let anyone know that they have an affect on you because then they will begin to use if to their advantage and see themselves higher than you.
"Besides," I shrug carelessly. "I highly doubt Tyler would introduce you to his parents if he knew they wouldn't like you." I inform her though I don't quite believe it myself but thankfully by the way her shoulders relax and her face brightens with a smile I can tell that she believes it which is good enough for me.
"Your right!" She exclaims and I don't let her see that this is news to me as I turn away to grab my clutch in hopes of looking busy so she doesn't see my expression.
"Let's go, we don't want to be late." I tell her as she slips on her heels and begins hurriedly tossing things into her clutch that she most likely wouldn't need within the next four hours.
Tyler's brothers name is Will and he is turning eighteen, same age as Mia and I actually, so Tyler decided that he would throw him a lavish surprise party with his family am friends and then Will could celebrate tomorrow night with his friends drinking and partying and doing other stuff to celebrate. It's actually kind of cute. Mia had told me the reason Tyler didn't want to mix Will's group of friends with his family was because at his eighteenth he had done just that and it hadn't ended well. Apparently his parents are snobby and frowned upon all that 'trashy behavior'.
"Weren't his parents teenagers once?"I had asked Mia when I had heard of this news causing her to shrug uselessly as though I was asking her what the cure to global warming was.
"Apparently not." She shrugs causing me to snort out a laugh. Imagine that, never having to live through the horror of your teen years.
For a moment I think I would give anything to have never gone through my teen years but then I realized that I wouldn't be who I am today if I hadn't. I wouldn't have gone through the weak points that made me strong. If I hadn't would I  be emotionally innocent or would I still have turned out to be who I am today?
"They are prejudice." was her response which was something I understood way to well.
My parents and Tyler's parents share a trait!
I expect Mia to be able to deal with this well. After all she had to put up with my parents for majority of her life. The only difference is with my parents it was about race and religion, with Tyler's parents it's about money. She could easily deal with my parents because she was self assured with her beliefs, besides I think she didn't really care about religion all that much, but with Tyler's parents I know deep down she is insecure of the fact that she doesn't come from much money. Her mum worked both day and night jobs to keep a roof over their head and food on the table while her dad struggled taking care of himself let alone her as well. Her mum had only been seventeen when she had fallen pregnant so the two dropped out of school, her mum to raise Mia and her dad to get a job to cater for them. I know this affects Mia a lot, she blames herself for all her parents troubles but it wasn't her fault! She didn't ask to be born, they made that decision on their own.
Mia pays for the uber and I don't fight her on it. She plans on staying at Tyler's tonight leaving me to pay for my uber on the way back, so it's only fair.
"Wow." I gasp as I look up at the tall building right across from central park on 5th avenue. "This is where Tyler lives?" I wonder in awe.
"Yeah his parents own the penthouse but his mum got sick of living in the city so his dad bought a place further out and Tyler convinced him to let him live here instead of selling it." She tells me as we walk through the prestige lobby towards the lift.
"Can I marry your boyfriend?" I blurt out as she calls the lift causing her to laugh a little.
She knows very well that I don't mean it 1) because I have promised myself I will never get married 2) because she know I would never do that to her and 3) because Tyler wouldn't be my type even if I had a type. Shaking her head she scans a key when she steps into the lift before clicking the penthouse button.
Tyler gave her a key to his apartment! Since when?
"Why are we living in our shitty dorm, let's move in with your boyfriend!" Although I am still joking I am slightly serious about this one. If I had a boyfriend who lived in a penthouse I would not be staying in a dorm room at college. For a moment I wonder if she is choosing to live with me because she knows I can't do anything on my own and doesn't want to leave me behind but them I remember that Mia and Tyler have only been together for three months. It's still too early for that kinda stuff.
The elevator dings and we step out into a small hallway with only one door. Almost on auto pilot, Mia strides towards the door and knocks three times. I have to say I am quite impressed that she even got out of the car let alone built the confidence she is showing me right now. Maybe my pep talk worked, that would be a first!
The door swings open and Tyler greets us both, his hand immediately intertwining with Mia's and I notice her stiffened expression eases slightly. I follow the pair in making sure to close the door behind me before looking around. In the background I can hear what I think is Jazz music being played. All the men are dressed in dress shirts and pants while the women in the most elegant dresses I have ever seen. Immediately I feel under dressed and slightly self conscious, this is definitely not my type of crowd that is for sure.
"Adee, in the kitchen there are some drinks but go easy." Tyler warns causing me to grin wickedly.
"I don't know, I sure do feel like letting loose tonight." I sway slightly attempting to be playful causing Mia's eyes to widen in horror as though she was picturing me drunk dancing on the table while screaming along to some song I can barley remember the lyrics to.
"Relax she's joking." Tyler reassures her, fussing over her like a mother over her child on their first day of school.
"I'll be in the kitchen" I inform the pair as I make my way towards the kitchen that was close by the wide open lounge room.
Sure enough as I make my way to the kitchen I find a wide selection of wines and champagnes in the kitchen. For a girl who is used to drinking the cheap ass rum mixed with cola this was a little foreign to me.
I pick up the closest bottle and look at the label reading 'Veuve D'argent, Brut , Produit De France.' I don't understand what any of that meant. That seemed sure as hell way to fancy for me. Placing the bottle back, completely aware of the small frown playing on my features I decided on a bottle of red wine that had nothing but 'Shiraz,2018' on it. Not knowing what it meant I still filled up a wine glass, at least I knew the difference between wine glasses and champagne glasses. My parents after all are not drinkers and I'm sure if the saw me drinking right now they would lock me in my room and make sure I never saw the light of day again. But they aren't here and what they don't know won't hurt them.
The first sip is kind of gross and I wonder why people even drunk this crap but I force it down my throat trying desperately not to cringe.
"First time trying wine?" I hear an unfamiliar, amused, voice from behind me causing me to turn around out of curiosity. I am met with a tall boy with light brown hair and brown eyes. His face looks young and by the way he has his dress shirt un tucked  and dress pants hanging low I can tell that he has been dragged here just like me.
"That obvious?" I wonder but I'm more implying if it is that obvious I am so out of place in this environment.
"Don't worry I prefer my mixed drinks too." He reassures me as he hoists himself up on the bench. "I don't know you!" He blurts out causing me to give him a dry chuckle as I step towards him. This kid seems cool, and although I haven't spoken to anyone else yet, probably the only good company at this party.
"No one here does so don't take it to heart." I pointed out causing him to raise his eyebrows curiously at me.
"I'm Will." He mentioned before taking a lazy swing from his champagne glass, the way you would see one take a swing from a beer in the movies.
"Wait. Are you Tyler's brother?" I wonder excitedly causing him to give me one stiff nod still not looking any less bored. " oh happy birthday. Wow you two look nothing alike!" I observe as I look him over again. Sure both are tall with tanned skin and light brown hair but everything else is different. From the shape of the face, to the shape of their eyes and the nose. Wills features are a lot softer making him look so much younger than Tyler.
"Thanks and thanks." I frown slightly at the second thanks but I don't question it. There is obviously bad blood there and it is known of my business. Besides I know better than anyone how shitty family drama can be. Something's are better not to talk about  so you don't have to remind yourself of it.
"I'm Adee." I change the subject. "Mia's friend." He seems grateful for the subject change which makes me feel a little better about my people skills. My mother always said that the fact that I was always to outspoken and blunt would make people dislike me, 'You need to be more lady like' She would scowled me which would only earn her an eye roll in response.
"Really?" He mutters as though the news has come as a shock to him.
"Why?" I ask slightly offended. It isn't his fault though and I am well aware that he didn't mean it in a way to offend me but that is just a touchy subject for me. Everyone always wondered why Mia and I where friends, after all she was nice, friendly and down to earth I however am blunt, hot tempered and quite judgemental. They thought that it was rather odd that Mia associated with me and I don't blame them for it, I often wonder the same thing myself. All I do is push Mia away, offer her sarcastic remarks, and depend on her without her even being aware of it. I will be the first to admit I am not a good friend but Mia stays around.
"Nothing, it's just the way Tyler describes Mia she sounds kind of boring and you seem kinda cool." I frown slightly not sure whether I should thank him for the compliment or defend my best friend. Even though I one hundred percent agree that she can sometimes be a little boring I don't like some stranger saying it. AT the end of the day boring or not I still know all of Mia's good qualities which out way's the bad more than enough. "Don't get me wrong, I bet she is lovely but she sounds too much like my parents type of crowd and I hate my parents crowd!" He elaborated causing me to relax a little, I actually leaned against the bench behind me and smiled effortlessly over at him.
"Well thanks I guess. You seem like my crowd too!" I attempt to compliment and judging by the way he sits up slightly I think he liked the compliment.
"So I'm assuming you're from San Fransisco as well?" He asked causing me to nod as I took another sip from my wine. At first it had tasted disgusting but now my taste buds had grown to the taste and I was actually enjoying it.
"Yeah, Mia and I lived in the same street." I add trying to make to conversation seem a little more interesting though I failed miserably. I'm never one to openly attempt to have a decent conversation, I mainly gave up because 1) my people skills suck, 2) guys my age only want to talk about sex and girls my age only want to gossip, and 3) turns out I actually prefer to be alone with my earphones than in a room full of people.
"Oh cool!" he responds even though we are both aware that it wasn't that cool, he just ran out of things to say.
"So you just turned eighteen, are you studying?" I guessed.
"Yeah I'm doing my last year at high school and then I am done." He confirmed my thoughts.
"Do you plan on studying after?" I ask. It's funny because I remember how much I hated answering this question. Of course I had been sure of what I wanted to do since I was sixteen but I hated telling people in case the news made its way back to my parents which it eventually did. Let's just say they weren't happy when they heard I planned on moving to New York which was practically on the other side of the country. And it wasn't in the 'oh we are going to miss you, you will be so far' kind of unhappy, it was more like the 'you bet your fucking ass we will let you leave this house without our blessing' sort of unhappy. I know that they believe that what they are doing and saying is right, and in their minds it might be, but for me it isn't.
"Fuck no." He scoffs an amused smirk making it way onto his face as he shakes his head as though the thought was crazy to him."I'm not that kind of guy, that's Tyler."
"Tell me about it." I huff ,crossing my arms over my chest as I roll my eyes. No one knows better than me what it is like to be constantly compared to your older brother.
"Hey Will, your parents are looking for you." Someone calls as they enter the kitchen causing both Will and I to turn around.
"Oh shit!" I mutter under my breath turning my gaze to the ground, hoping to hide myself behind my hair. I can feel Will's questioning stare burning through me but I refuse to look up, afraid I will catch Shawn's attention. Maybe he won't see me and leave with Will and then I could spend the rest of the night hiding away in the bathroom, I could even take a bottle of wine in there with me! It sounds like the perfect plan and I am sure it will work until Will opens his mouth.
"Duty calls but it was nice meeting you Adee." He says as he hops off the bench and in the reflection of the pots hanging from the rack, I see Shawn turn on the balls of his feet and look over at me in surprise. " You should come back tomorrow for my party, it would be cool to have you there." He invites before walking away leaving me alone with Shawn.
I don't even take time to think over the invitation before saying yes, my mind is too preoccupied with how the hell I would get away from Shawn without seeming rude or making it completely obvious. Never in my whole life have I ever ran into any of my one night stands after, although I have only had three, I didn't want to start  now with Shawn. No offense to him but he just seems clingy.
"So much for never seeing each other again." He recalled our conversation from yesterday, an amused expression on his face mixed with excitement. He moved in front of me so he was leaning against the bench that Will had just been sitting on letting me know that he didn't intend on leaving me alone any time soon. The way he was dressed did make me relax a little, he paired a baby blue dress shirt with a pair of black skinny jeans and converse, his sleeves where also rolled off showing his toned forearms that had been wrapped around my body this time last week.
"Not my fault your stalking me." I taunted placing the wine glass to my lips hoping to hide my smile from him and turning my gaze to the floor just to be safe.
"Yes!" He scoffs trying to hide his chuckle. "I followed you to my best friends brother's birthday party because I had nothing better to do with my life." He sarcastically retorts not bothering to hide his amusement causing me to giggle a little. I safely lift my gaze from the ground to Shawn to is staring at me in a mixture of disbelief and humor.
"So I've learned two things at this party." I revealed causing Shawn to give me an expectant look as if telling me to continue, the smile never leaving his face. "One is that I have a stalker and Two I really hate wine!" I laugh even though it is only half true, I can honestly imagine myself drinking wine more often.
"I have beer at my place." Shawn suggests causing my eyes to widen for a split moment in shock. It wasn't shock at what he had said, more so shock that I wanted to actually go.
"I don't know if beer is enough to get me to go all the way back to your place, I mean I could easily find beer from someone on campus." I playfully shrug as though the offer didn't sound tempting at all but really I wanted nothing more than to get out of here, even if that meant going back to Shawn's apartment.
He nods his head to the exit of the kitchen and I nod my head eagerly in response. Gulping down the rest of my wine and placing the empty glass on the bench I follow him through the crowd towards the door that I came through no less that forty minutes ago. I catch Mia's attention as I am leaving, gesturing towards the door. At first she frowns in response but once she notices who I am leaving with an encouraging smile forms on her face and she sends me a wink as I walk closer to the door causing me to roll my eyes. I will not hear the end of this tomorrow.
Thankfully Shawn's place isn't that far from Tyler's and even better the car ride isn't as awkward as the last one that we shared, though I don't think anything could ever come close to being as awkward as the last car drive we shared. That was bad.
As soon as we are through the front door of Shawn's apartment I pull off my heels, enjoying the feeling of my bare feet touching flat ground again. Shawn chuckles as he too takes off his shoes. He throws his car keys on the table beside the door before his hand reaches for the light switch but I am quick to grab onto his arm getting his attention almost too easily.
"Leave them off." I whisper.
"Okay." He whispers back as I can just make out the silhouette of his head nod. Abruptly, I remove my hands from his arm realizing that I was way too close to him for it to be comfortable for me.
Sensing my discomfort from our closeness, Shawn steps back so we are now further away from each other to a point that was unnecessary.
"Um take a seat, I'll get the beers." He suggested before making his way towards the kitchen.
In the dark I find it hard to navigate myself but I eventually find my way to the leather lounge without running into anything or causing any damage, which for me should be classified as an accomplishment. Sitting on the end of the lounge I eagerly look out at the view, not being able to get enough of it, as I hear Shawn rattling around in the fridge. Letting out a small cheer of excitement, I leap up from the couch, taking a pillow with me before making my way towards the glass window. I place the pillow on the floor before bending down and sitting on it. Shawn joins me not long after handing me a beer before taking a seat next to me. To be honest I think the wine tasted better than the beer but the surroundings where a lot more comfortable here which I think made the beer more enjoyable, that or the fact that I was beginning to get a little tipsy. It was no secret to anyone who new me that I get drunk very easily.
Surprisingly the silence between us wasn't as awkward as I had expected it to be. We sipped our beers silently and I was more than okay with that but once I was half way through my beer I git bored and in a matter of seconds I was straddling Shawn's lap with my lips pressed against his. At first he was a little taken aback but he quickly began moving his lips against mine again.
"Is this gong where I think it's going?" He said when he pulled away for air.
"Unless you don't want it to." I mumble against his lips as my hands toy with the hem of his shirt, teasingly slipping under it every now and then.
"Oh trust me I want to!" He nods before pushing his lips against mine again.
