Just in case it helps anyone, turn on airplane mode whenever you play a game on your phone or tablet that doesn't require the internet (most don't). This stops the ads from loading and typically skips trying to load them at all, giving you nothing but the game.

Something so profoundly fucked up between the inverse ratio of shrinking middle class and ever increasing aggression of advertisement

#adpocalypse #but really #we are living in an apocalypse of advertising where every byte of data is found #gathered bought or just straight stolen and used to target us in ever more disturbingly personal ways #in the eyes of corpos our money isn't the most valuable thing we have #it's our data #spending habits #movement #relationships #everything you are and do is fodder for them and it's accumulation is at this point as much an addiction as any other #or at least so lazily considered that they just grab everything and find use for it later #yes the data is used to sell you stuff but it's also a tradeable good in itself #so it's double-plus good #anyyhing we can do to reduce or stop the one-sided flow of data to them is not only a good thing but a necessary thing #there are people far more educated on this that can providd this guidance but basics like turning off data unless you need it and rejecting #any data requests from apps and sites that don't need it (like all non-essential cookies they try to trick you into accepting)#it won't work miracles but every bit helps and we can push for stronger privacy laws to rein in the out-of-control corpos & data harvesters #this has been my regular rant against corporatoons and capitalism #thanks for listening #if anyone even is
