Okay, I want your opinion/meta on Sirius and Regulus' relationship. I I am so bad for them, BADD I ship them so much but it's impossible not to given the potential for angst, repressed sexual tension and shekspiarian tinged love that overflows their ship. I read your fanfic of them inspired by Taylor's song and it was very well done, I was very grateful to have found it, however I'm very interested to know your opinion given how unpopular this ship is.

I started writing, and I realized I could write about these two forever whoops. This is going to a bit scattered, and hopefully I'll just keep adding to it.

Obvious content warnings for incest and underage! (though nothing is explicitly described here)

I don’t think this ship is unpopular at all! Looking at otp:true fics, the Sirius ships in order are: 1) Sirius/Remus, 2) Sirius/James, 3) Sirius/Snape, 4) Sirius/Hermione, 5) Sirius/Harry, 6) Sirius/Regulus. For Regulus it goes: 1) Regulus/James, 2) Regulus/Sirius. For an incest ship, that feels very high. 

They are so captivating!

My idiot brother, soft enough to believe them! “Soft enough!” What a way to describe your brother. Sirius can be so cruel in his words when he wants to be but calling him ‘soft’?? There’s so much tenderness there even when he’s trying to be defended about it. 

I have a number of different versions of them in my head, given that I’m not engaging in a critical reading of the text with regard to their relationship and more of the fact that I’m an incest survivor who has projected onto them as needed throughout the past twenty years. I like canon compliance and being rooted in the text, but I also recognize that most of my impressions of them are more about me and less about the text. 

I love many different versions, but I will say I cannot stand the newly popular fanon (especially in Jegulus circles) where Regulus wants to leave but nobly sacrifices himself to stay and be the heir so Sirius is able to leave the family. 

Regulus and Sirius love each other more than anything. Sirius builds into the core of his identity that he is Regulus’s protector. (When Regulus rejects that protection, he is crushed.) Regulus builds into the core of his identity that he and Sirius are one unit, a soul in two bodies. (When Sirius builds an autonomous identity outside of the family, he is crushed.) They are never quite able to forgive the other (because they are never quite able to forgive themselves for needing the other so much.) 

Here are a few contradictory thoughts and headcanons and ideas: 

Regulus is Walburga’s golden child, and it’s not uncommon for the golden child to be the one who is sexually abused while the scapegoat is physically and emotionally abused. The intimacy of sexual abuse as a marker of goodness and specialness within the abusive family system.  

Regulus is the initiator. The hypersexual kid. His mother uses him to make herself feel good, and Regulus wants to do the same for Sirius, because his mother loves him, and he loves Sirius, and that’s what you do when you love someone so much. 

And Sirius resists… just long enough that he can tell himself he resisted. 

And Sirius steals wine from the adults to share with Regulus so he has something to blame for giving into his desires again and again. 

As he gets older and spends more time with the Potters and in Gryffindor, his behavior with Regulus becomes something he associates with the awfulness of his family which he is trying desperately to reject. 

Regulus tries to initiate. Sirius is quite cruel in his rejection. 

(He returns to Regulus’s bedroom later that night, and he is cruel in how he embraces Regulus, but Regulus is thrilled to be used.) 

Sirius runs away, and Regulus can’t forgive him. Sirius has sex with random older men in Hogsmeade and keeps saying Regulus’s name. Regulus starves himself Seeker-skinny and that’s something to focus on, a disciplining of his desires. 

Then, maybe that’s it for them. Or maybe they come together in the castle by random happenstance or at a wedding of some politically neutral pureblood family, and they both carry too much hurt and a family legacy of cruelty, and they have sex to try to punish themselves and punish the other, and then that’s it for them, because Regulus dies and doesn’t tell Sirius when he defects. They each know that they love the other, but they can't believe that they themselves are loved.

Or maybe, Sirius is the initiator. He holds enough power over Regulus by age and by status of being the heir and by size that it can’t be considered anything other than abuse. Regulus can’t say no to Sirius. Sirius as bully, Sirius as predator. At Hogwarts, this behavior extends to Snape, and Regulus and Snape find each other as two boys who love/hate/desire/fear Sirius. 

Or maybe, the sexual intimacy feels like a natural evolution of their intimacy. Two very sheltered boys growing up in a scary house together which is entirely unsuitable for children. Their emotional worlds only consist of each other, and they sleep in each other’s beds, and the boundaries between one body and another feel impossibly thin. When Sirius is sorted into Gryffindor, it feels like the first tear in their interwoven body. Their sexual behavior towards each other exists as something innocent which can't survive in the real world of an impending war.

I really like their relationship to the ancients and how it feeds back into her personality. They’re part of 5 iterators themed after the base urges, and being Karma 2 has given them a very interesting place. She was made to study genetics and conduct breeding programs which is actually very important work, but of course being the Karma 2 iterator means she was generally mocked and laughed at as far as iterators go. This means she’s rather anxious and embarrassed about how she’s perceived, and is nervous about opening up to others. It’s also given them a dislike of their puppet’s appearance and clothes, maybe even their puppet in general

-Least Favorite Thing about them

Honestly, I’m not confident in their design. I feel like it doesn’t fit her personality even if it’s the kind of thing I imagine the ancients would’ve dressed her in. I also think her face doesn’t quite fit her personality and I was thinking maybe her cloak should be closer to a traditional iterator cloak

OKAY i'm finally getting to this whoops. i'll do both and i'll just skip questions i can't really answer or don't want to

for liko:

why i like them: liko is like. everything i would have wanted in an anipoke protagonist when i was younger. that's honestly the best way to put it, it's like retroactively healing for my child self in a sense lmao. i love that she kind of just gets to be... a character? like she's a girl but not the token girl. they aren't going hardcore on #girlpower or something, she's just... a character. who is a girl. a well done character at that - i think liko's internal struggles are relatable, and i enjoy that her compassion for others is treated as a strong point, because it is. i also just think her character design goes hard LMAO ken sugimori popped off w that one

why i don't: frankly there's not a lot i don't like about liko? this is more a commentary on horizons' writing and not her but i will say the anime is a bit slow to get her off her feet - like she's REALLY lost in internal monologue in the first few episodes and it drags a bit. but she hasn't had that issue for a while so whatever

favorite episode: oh god i have a handful of favorite episodes, i can't just pick one even if we're just narrowing it down to liko centric ones!! i guess the recent episode where liko rescues a maushold family sticks out right now because recency bias but also like, it really shows off that liko, despite her anxieties, is brave in the face of danger when it concerns the safety of others (including pokemon), and also watching her try to keep her cool after experiencing a cave in was really interesting. obviously horizons wouldn't kill her off or some shit but i will admit i was on the edge of my seat a little

unpopular opinion: the fandom for this series is still pretty small cause the dub isn't out yet in the US so i don't really know what's a popular opinion and what isn't? is it too soon to say i like liko more than ash (i still love ash though and he's obviously iconic)

an oh-god-please-don't-ever-happen: i'm REALLY enjoying that they aren't really baiting liko x roy aside from perhaps ONE facial expression in a really early episode and i really really hope that they never START baiting it. there's nothing wrong with shipping them if you want to, i am just personally sick of ash being shipped with every single girl companion he has ever traveled with and feeling like the girl partners exist at least in part for that purpose. it's so refreshing seeing that turned on its head and just allowing the two of them to be healthy friends. if they start pushing it as a ship i'm going to explode (negative, bad)

Favorite: His integrity as a duelist! Jack may be a shit person who -checks notes- threw his friends to the dogs, betrayed his loved ones, and stole Yusei’s ace card and D-wheel, BUT he did also refuse to continue being the King knowing Yusei would have fairly beaten him if the red dragon hadn’t appeared. I think he’s just a funky little guy tbh, he’s a compelling and interesting character

Least favorite: see above the whole point about “abandoning his loved ones for profit”

Favorite line: uhhh I haven’t gotten very far in the anime yet, but maybe “Yes, but it (30$ coffee) makes you feel like a million” this line lives rent free (unlike Crow who has to pay rent)

BroTP: team satisfaction, I guess?

OTP: I’m not far enough to see him have meaningful relationships with anyone except Yusei yet 😭 tentatively I’m gonna say Jack/Carly because I know Of Carly as a Concept

NoTP: don’t really have one, but Jack with anyone not age appropriate for him is a no go

Random Headcanon: he has a super strong satellite accent that makes it near impossible for him to talk in public (for fear of exposing his past) without rehearsing a TON to perfect his accent first

rescue team is easily the most boring one and before the remake it was the most tedious one to play in my experience which makes me very happy it got a remake that improved its awful gameplay. now im not fucked when my teammate is on lowhealth

as much as i love it i dont think we need an explorers of sky remake, at least not yet. some quality of life improvements would be nice like how attacks work in the 3d games, but i feel like it hasnt aged poorly at all and is still a wonderful experience. i also feel like youll inherently lose some charm once the change from pixels to 3d models is made (and theyd HAVE to change grovyles portrait oh my god its so boring) id still buy it and play it and id die if new merch happened because of it, plus kids getting an opportunity to play one of the best pokemon games, but overall? i can wait

explorers of sky’s postgame is kinda spotty imo. theres some REALLY good stuff like blizzard island and manaphy, but theres also stuff like aegis cave and its where the unwashed asscrack darkrai’s plotline comes in so i dont really do the postgame sometimes when i replay it. also the partner not talking as much... i just feel like postgame isnt as strong as the main game. also darkrai sucks. a lot. 

gates to infinity was good yall are just mean. i didnt care for the paradise mechanic nor did i like how missions were centered on it, but the story made up for it in spades. the message is basically “you should still strive to make a change in the world for the sake of not only yourself but for others and the next generation, and saying “life is unfair get over it” or “thats just how people are” is a useless slogan that not only normalizes that but makes things even worse” as well as having a wonderful message about positivity and depression and its just. im a little bitter the whole “strive to make the world a better place” is only attached to psmd and this game gets disregarded entirely despite psmd only really digging into the message in its third act while gates spend so much time building up and making the message worth it. psmd does an ok job at it but gates needs more credit

psmd is also like. okay. i really wish they had just picked a plotline and stuck with it rather than go with sooooo much stuff at once like the school and the expedition society and the stones and the sun and dark matter and allll the characters. i really wouldve liked to spend the whole game with the schoolkids, i love how espurr gets a starring role and comes back later on but i really wish the other kids couldve gotten a chance too when we spent so much time with them and then get into their chemistry now that all of them are on better terms with the partner rather than ditch them soon after that happens. also i dont like nuzleaf. not in the “oh he betrayed me im playfully bitter at this video game character” like i actually do not care for his writing. i feel like a lot of his character hinges on that plot twist bc really carracosta felt more like a dad to hero than he ever did imo. partner is way better and i wish they sorta had the attention that he has. also the fanbase likes to do that thing with him where they power him up and power hero down so he can have protective father moments where he saves them against a boss that they would have absolutely no problem with in canon and i really hate that in fandom so that could be part of why i just dont care for him. its the same reason i dont care for meta knight over in kirby lol.

paragraph break but psmd’s tone is actually extremely good, its the funniest pmd game by far and when it wants you to feel something you feel it hard and personal. the third act slams hard even if i personally feel like its cluttered, i dont really feel that way when im actually playing through that segment (not in the dark matter scenes tho im sorry but kirby’s version spoiled me) and the music is phenomenal and i love all the little callbacks and how gliscor is guaranteed to me bc of the connection orb mechanics. this is mostly just to say im nuanced on psmd i dont hate the game or even dislike it i just reallyyy wish it couldve been better. i love to replay it though and i love my team (jay the froakie and mimi the chimchar) so thats what really matters i think

also most of the popular ships suck like hero/grovyle, dusknoir/grovyle, scizor/froslass, gengar/gardevoir they all suck. boo. some are ok tho like hero/partner and grovyle/celebi

First impression: When I saw the KSA Dream Friend trailers back when they came out I remember thinking "wow that's a Kirby character if I ever saw one". Man imagine if I actually played the Dream Friends when they released I could of found god sooner.

Impression now: Whoops new favorite. He's got a fantastic design and sassy dialogue making for one of the strongest characters. Nothing mind blowing, he's a fairly standard gentleman thief type, but still very well executed and confident.

Favorite moment: Stretching it here, but I really like how he plays in KSA. He has a wide variety of moves that need charging so every fight you have to think about what works best for the situation. I feel like he could of had more personality in KSA, especially in the animation department, but playing him feels like you're the crazy prepared leader of a team having to plan a heist on the spot.

Idea for a story: Oh god I have too many. One idea is a heist at Haltmann works where he runs into Susie and they get into a fight. He brings Doc along with him because Doc's more familiar with the tech-y stuff.

Unpopular opinion: How can there be unpopular opinions if a character isn't that popular to begin with

Favorite relationship: This is outside of the games but Meta Knight. I'm not a huge fan of the novels, but holy shit those two are chummy to a near comical degree. A problem I have with the novels is that they are really mean spirited, but they can't help but compliment each other whenever they're near. They'll also just stop and ask how they are doing and have each other's best interests in mind and wow that's really refreshing. Thinking outside the novels they have enough similarities for getting along but also some differences in personality to challenge each other with. I'd like to think Daroach would hesitate to trust people, what with being an infamous thief he probably has made a lot of enemies. He'd take an interest in MK because Cool and Mysterious dude but hesitate to reach out. MK's excuse is he's shit at communication so he just does Daroach a lot of favors which throws Daroach off. Daroach eventually realizes that MK is just being massive dork and they become fast friends then. More obvious is just Daroach is much open and flamboyant than MK is; Daroach would push him to have fun but wouldn't overstep any boundaries. I see hc's that they'd chat about their adventures over tea or go on heists together, but I'd like to see Daroach asking for help with hand-to-hand combat with some sparring.

Favorite headcanon: Less headcanon and more maybe canon/theory is this beef he and DDD have. DDD is (rightfully) pissed that Daroach has stolen from him and Daroach just thinks he's ugly lol

Dedede Resort has a castle that King Dedede had built. It’s supposed to be beyond tacky. This is the most petty and pointless conflict in the series and I love it. iirc it was the eleventh hour. eleven's first ep <3. my sister introduced me to the show when i was like 11 or 12 or something. doctor who was still on netflix in those days..... i instantly fell in love with it, and i think i must've watched the rest of series 5 immediately, but i only really remember watching from series 1 after that. the eleventh hour really changed the timeline tho

ELEVEN. i know the moffat writing is bad i KNOW. but listen. matt smith's acting was SO good and i feel like the character was super nuanced and had a lot of depth. i love the idea that ten's era was so traumatic for him that he becomes the Man Who Forgets. my fav era with eleven specifically was the 11amyrory era. it has such a comforting and fairytaleesque vibe i love it i love 11

(4) who is your least favorite doctor? why?

okay fair disclaimer, i haven't seen too much of classic who, so i don't really have an opinion on doctors 1-8. i think 13 might be my least favorite. I actually have only seen up to series 11 whoops. it really killed my enthusiasm for the show tho. i feel like her morals were a little all over the place and i couldn't really get a clear idea of her in my head. like i wanted to like her, but i could just never click with her. i do plan on watching the rest of her run tho, so maybe my opinion will change :)

I'm not sure if this an unpopular opinion or not but. i don't like river. i don't like that her whole story line and backstory is revolved around the doctor. i don't like that her whole purpose in life was to kill the doctor but GASP ~she fell in love with him~ idk it feels really cheesy and just never gelled with her. her storyline reached it peak at silence in the library imo. another fucking indicator that moffat is good at setting up a storyline but fails at executing it. fucker.

the end of time for sure! i've seen all the specials but none of them really stick in my mind much lol. end of time is soooo good tho, i loved the dynamic between ten and simms!master, and i thought the plot line was really interesting. imo it was a fucking stroke of genius to have wilf be the one who knocks four times. beautifully set up, beautifully executed. and ten was so emo up until the very end. slay.

•How I feel about this character: I love Kate Denson so much! She's has a very particularly interesting bit of lore to her imo that has some unique implications for her.Unrelated sidenote: She definitely canonically has anxiety and even uses breathing techniques for it. She's absolutely a ray of sunshine who can and will whoop ass when necessary. Kate Denson is 100% someone who will be in your corner when you need it most. I feel like she's a smart woman and would be a strong advocate for others. However, I worry that she also often doesn't take her own happiness (and needs in general) into account.

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Honestly my top ship for Kate is the pairing I ship her in the most, but is also a cross-over ship (if it still counts if the character is from another series but is in the same game) so I'll save that answer for the end. Otherwise I'm pretty open to a lot of ships with her, so just one other character I like her with is Yui Kimura!

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: My favourite non-romantic relationships for Kate include Meg Thomas, Jake Park, Zarina Kassir, Yui Kimura and Jeff Johansen! For Jeff in particular I've flip flopped on how I see him relating to her, and I still do, but I definitely think that in instances where I don't ship them together (which is more often than not these days), I can definitely see Jeff as more of a parental figure for her.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Ok this isn't actually about the character herself, and perhaps not an unpopular opinion but I feel like a good chunk of the fandom does her dirty and genuinely thinks that she'd be super conservative, homophobic etc and also pit her against Meg for no damn reason when I personally can 100% see them as best friends????

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: In general, and I apologize that this isn't very specific, I just want to learn more about her! :D

Favorite friendship for this character: This section is almost a repeat of the previous one. Meg Thomas, Yui Kimura and Zarina. I'd also like to see Yun-Jin and Kate become friends, though I think it would take a pretty good chunk of time for it to happen.

My crossover ship: My crossover ship is... Soulbirds (Kate Denson x Cheryl Mason)!! This ship swept my heart up in a whirlwind and I really do think they work so well together~ One of my top fave DBD ships altogether.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier Ep. 6 Takeaway

First let me say that I really truly enjoyed this show. I was so nervous at the beginning and I was so nervous for the end, and though there are things that I didn’t like (as to be expected with pretty much any media) my overall excitement was rewarded. I definitely give the show an A and can only hope that we keep getting things like this and WandaVision with their next shows.

Anyway.

Sam and Bucky (and Sharon) coordinating from their different spots. I always like seeing the tactical side of working together in addition to the badass fighting together stuff. 

The officer not questioning Bucky’s presence and calling him Sargent Barnes made me SO happy.

The facial mask thing-y that Natasha had in Cap 2 making a reappearance. Idk why I like that but it’s nice to know that these things are still being utilized.

CAPTAIN AMERICA’S FIRST ENTRANCE!!!! my GOD did Sam ROCK that!!! Fucking AH-MAY-ZING. 

Sam’s new costume is perfect like the comics!! It’s so often changed that it’s so great to see it on screen! 

“I’m sorry, wait. Who are you?” “I’m Captain America.” The parallel between this is Steve’s “Um...Captain America.” in the First Avenger. 

The subtitles saying “Captain America” now whenever Sam in uniform talks.

Bucky trying to talk Karli down, approaching from a different angle than Sam because it’s what he knows and honestly does want to stop her without it coming to a fight. Especially when he realizes it’s a trap and is all “oh fuck me” and needs to haul ass lol. That is Bucky Barnes to a T.

Sam’s fight with Batroc was so cool. No serum. Just straight up ass kicking plus the au revoir at the end. Yes please and thank you.

Uh, yeah, so Bucky stopping weapons mid-air is one of my favorite things ever.

I do like that when push comes to shove, the mission outweighed their personal grudges and Sam and Bucky “teamed up” with Walker. Not that it was 100% trust on their side. I think Bucky followed Walker bc “eeeeh....can we really trust him?” and since he has no doubt Sam can handle himself, but also, we’re fighting the same thing right as of this moment so lets just keep our heads and do it. 

I am absolutely not thrilled with the direction they took Sharon. Like. Not at all. I’m...reserving full judgement for what I’m assuming will come in the future but like. No. Nuh-ah. Not happy with it.

Sam trying so hard to help Karli. The fact that he legit refused to fight her and she tried so hard to get him to fight back and he just wouldn’t. So beautiful and poignant. Sam’s fighting style. Sam perseverance. Just. Everything about that.

As good as the scene was (and I think it was great. The set up. How it all went down. The raw emotion) I’m kinda bummed they killed Karli. I was hoping Sam could at least talk her down first. However, the emotion and symbolism of her dying in his arms, and whispering “i’m sorry” was so heartbreaking. 

The way Bucky and Walker got the rest of the Flag Smashers was hilarious.

Sam carrying Karli’s body cradled in his arms and flying down with her like a literal angel? I mean. Just rip my heart out. 

“You have to stop calling them terrorists.” and “Your peacekeeping troops carrying weapons are forcing millions of people into settlements around the world, right? What do you think those people call you.” These first few lines of Sam’s speech. God, thank you.

Sam’s Captain America Speech. No fuck’s given. I’m so glad they didn’t hold back and just let him really give that powerful speech. Unabashedly saying “I’m a Black man carrying the stars and stripes. What don’t I get?”. Admitting the weight that comes with it and the judgement he feels. Not backing down. Telling the world he is Captain America “no super serum, no blond hair or blue eyes”. Defending Karli and trying to get them to understand what she was trying to do and why she was trying to do it. Sam was 100% born to be Captain America. 

Everyone watching Captain America’s speech. Bucky. Walker. Isaiah and Eli. Joaquin. Sarah. The world. Beautiful watching Captain America deliver his first speech. 

“Sorry I was texting so all I heard was Black guy in stars and stripes...nice job, Cap.” That back clap Bucky gives Sam there? ((#boyfriends))

Very happy that Zemo had another villain move up his sleeve. Didn’t really dig the whole “i’m so graceful feel sorry for me” thing.

Bucky making his amends with Nakajima. The overwhelming emotions. The fear of admitting it. I kinda wish we saw a little more but I’m also okay with the ambiguity of it and knowing that Bucky knows that he at least gave him closure and is coming to accept that his role as the winter soldier was not his fault. 

Also liked Bucky giving the book to his therapist. I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but I take no issues with her and I do think that Bucky felt she helped him.

Eli Bradley is fucking adorable. 

Sam’s conversation with Isaiah. All that hope he represents while not erasing the pain that Isiah and generations before them suffered. Still wanting to fight for what’s right just because it’s the right thing to do. Isaiah not condemning Sam’s choice. Beautiful and poignant. 

Um. The museum scene? Yeah, I had to pause for a good ten minutes before I could actually continue with the show. Isaiah Bradley and all his men deserved that ((and so much more)) for so long. The catharsis so visible when Isaiah hugs Sam so tight. The zoom in on the statue. Okay, I’m crying again. 

Yeah, so when Bucky’s boyfriend has a BBQ he shows up like dancing like a dork with a cake and plays with all the kids.

Honestly, happiness looks so good on him. It’s so nice to see that again. 

They really ended it with Sam and Bucky embracing and walking off together in the sunset.

Enji Todoroki

I forgot to do Enji! Whoops, sorry. 

First impressions: “I hate this man so much, I hope that Hero Killer guy kills him!” Impressions now: I really like Enji. The main reason is because it’s rare to see a redemption/atonement arc play out over a long period of time, and have ups and downs. In media aimed at kids and young adults in particular it’s hard to find something where the set to be redeemed individual actually has to work toward becoming a better person. It has it’s issues but it’s just nice to see the active struggle of someone trying to change. I wish we got more stories like that. Favorite moment: i think I said in a pervious character ask for Enji that I like his apology/talk with Natsuo the most. It shows Enji’s change, while showcasing that he still has a way to go.  Idea for a story: Enji and Hawks talking about Hawks’ past. It’s really weird to me that no one has commented at all on how Hawks was raised by the HPSC or how he was abused as a kid. I think having him and Enji talk about it would be the most interesting because in a way Hawks is what Enji was trying to achieve--raising a child to be the perfect Hero. Considering Enji really seems to care about Hawks I’d be interesting to see how he’d feel about his past and if he’d feel guilty that while Hawks looked up to him, he was ultimately very similar to the people taking advantage of him.   Unpopular opinion: Just liking him seems to be controversial. That or thinking his character arc is actually pretty good. Also that I want most of his family to stay in contact with him. Again, it’s not because I think in a RL context that’s the right choice--but because as fictional characters you can just write more interesting stories if Enji’s involved.  Favorite relationship: Enji and Hawks or Enji and Touya. I think both could have some cool interactions/stories about them. They’re also the people that Enji has shown the most feeling for in canon so there’s more to work off of. Favorite headcanon: Despite his size, Enji gets drunk really fast. He also only likes really surgery mixed drinks because he can’t stand the taste of alcohol straight. Because of this when his Agency has company parties to celebrate milestones or other such events (known as nomikai) Enji either doesn’t show up or doesn’t drink if he attends. His staff think he’s a stick in the mud that hates parties, when in reality he just doesn’t want to pass out after a single drink.

Under the cut because whoops, long.

So you've got Cady, who starts out as a very sweet girl who is a dangerously Naive Newcomer and trusting of the first people who are even slightly kind to her. She allows herself to be influenced by Unpopular Bitch/Monster Janis and GBF Damian's thoughts on everyone instead of forming her own opinions by talking to people and getting to know them. Cady's silent while Janis rattles off shit about the cliques in the cafeteria, none of which she's particularly nice or even neutral about besides literally her and Damian.

Then at lunch, Cady's bombarded with questions by annoying Nice Guy Kevin Gnapor and "saved" by Popular Bitch/Monster Regina George while her little Mindless Minions, Gretchen and Karen watch silently. This is only the beginning of Cady's slow but very much there transformation into the new Monster.

Regina, being a quite dumb and insecure Monster, takes Cady under her hard Plastic little devil wing in an attempt to keep her crown and make sure Cady never over powers her. It backfires horribly.

In the beginning, she smiles at Cady and tells her she's pretty and she can sit with their Clique at lunch and go on fun shopping sprees with them. It seems innocent enough, so Cady takes the opportunities with a smile on her face, with the encouragement of Monster Janis who desperately wants some dirt on Regina to ruin her life as revenge for starting rumors about her.

Cady's allowed to go to Regina's house and she feels a little too comfortable so she blurts out that jab at Damian's expense, then worries that she wasn't allowed to talk like that. This is the next step in Cady's transformation into Popular Bitch/Monster. She's still in the beginning stages, but she's definitely turning.

Then Cady's attacked over the phone by Regina, who claims to "know her secret" and then gives her (fake) blessing for Cady to make a move on Jock Aaron. Cady takes it and absolutely runs with it, flirting with Aaron. Then she's invited to his party, and no one told her about the Sexy Costume rule, so she shows up in a genuinely scary ex wife costume while Monster Regina is clad in a sexy Playboy bunny costume. (I have Thoughts about the movie costume vs the Broadway costume, but that's another topic for another post.)

Cady thinks Regina's her friend and she's Regina's friend, and in her mind, friends don't hurt friends. She's shocked when Monster Regina takes Aaron back and kisses him in front of her and all the Popular Kids from school.

This messiness from Monster pisses Cady the fuck off (however understandable it is) and only serves to move Cady's transformation further along and in fact speed up the process. She devises an entire plan to dethrone Regina and ruin her life by taking everything from her. This is when it starts to get really scary, because Cady doesn't even realize what's happening. She fully doesn't realize that she is very swiftly becoming the Monster.

At school, Cady does the absolute most to both get Aaron's attention onto her. Nothing much happens and it drives Cady absolutely mad. She's becoming more and more like Regina daily, sending herself a candy cane and lying that it's from Regina to taunt Gretchen who never has and never will get a candy cane from her, switching from her Shit Talk Buddy persona with Janis and Damian to her Plastic persona with Regina with an alarming ease.

She casually lies that Janis just started babbling about crack, but is somehow surprised when Regina fake smiles at some girl and compliments her skirt, but her smile fades and she calls the skirt ugly as soon as the girl leaves, then coos about loving Cady's bracelet and asking where she got it, which Cady remembers she already did the first day they met.

Later, Cady half listens to Gretchen whine and moan about Regina and expertly gets her to accidentally spill some secrets about Regina, like her nose job and her separated parents.

When Gretchen nearly ruins their performance because she's always on Regina's left and now Regina forced her to switch, Cady saves the day with her pretty song and dance.

After, Cady's praised by Kevin and the girls tease her for crushing on him and expressing desire to join the Mathletes, even though according to Aaron, she hates math. Regina takes note of this and gives Cady an evil grin while Cady's awkwardly silent.

Gretchen makes a comment with slang she's trying to make happen and Regina rudely scolds her for doing so, making an already very insecure Gretchen absolutely crack and spill even more secrets to Cady like cheating on Aaron with Jock Shane.

The second she learns about Shane, her only thought is fucking "JACKPOT" and she simply makes it her mission to get Regina caught cheating by Aaron. It doesn't work.

Her next move is to give Regina nutrition bars to gain weight, as she wanted to lose weight despite already being skinny and toned like a fucking Barbie doll.

Cady explicitly says she hates Regina, but at the same time, still wanted Regina to like her. Same with Gretchen. They both just knew being Plastic and hating life was better than not doing so, because Plastics are Royalty in the school hallways.

Cady, now a full blown Plastic Bitch/Monster, struts down the school hallway with the Plastics + Aaron, dressed in a pastel colored combination of outfits previously worn by Regina, a tank and a jacket, and Gretchen, a plaid skirt and high heels. She calls herself a woman possessed, spending 80% of her time bitching about Regina and the other 20% praying someone else would bitch about her so she could. She literally couldn't stop. Instead of doing what Monster Cady wants, Monster Janis huffs and comments on Cady's perfume, given to her by Regina.

Now desperate for Aaron's attention, Cady's faking stupid and failing math so Aaron can tutor her. The two agree to a tutor session after school as long as neither of them tell Regina.

At home, Aaron's genuinely trying to help Cady but she's just interested in trying to seduce him. She smiles, flirts and kisses him, but he pulls away and says it's not fair to Regina.

Irritated, she asks why he even likes Regina and can't answer when she asks the same. Instead, Monster word vomits and admits she knows Regina cheats on him regularly. This makes Aaron break up with her. Step one in Operation: Kill The Monster is complete.

She's "mildly horrified" and confused when Aaron doesn't immediately hop onto Cady, questioning how much time he needs if Regina's already moved on. But overall, the plan's going well. Regina's lost her pretty arm candy and is gaining weight.

It's time to rid her of her Mindless Minions.

At 1-3-5, Regina tries on a size 5 dress that's too small for her and Cady spouts some bullshit about water weight, lying her ass off to ease Regina's worries. The store ends up not having the dress in Regina's size. Regina's lost her boyfriend and her body.

Now, Cady's failing and she rants to the girls about hating Wannabe Hero Norbury and accuses her of being a drug pusher. Gretchen tells her to put it in the Burn Book and she does, no hesitation. She knows it looks like she's become a Bitch, and insists she's only acting like a Bitch.

At school, Cady's staring in a tiny mirror and applying pink make up in a very Regina George fashion, and wearing almost an exact replica of an outfit Regina had worn before. Janis also comments that Cady didn't call her back the night before, paralleling Regina complaining that Janis hounded her about not being called back before as well.

Not only is that happening, though. Now Cady's planning Major Plastic Sabotage on her own and hyping Gretchen up while she's spilling shit about Regina to Karen over the phone.

At school, Regina shows up wearing uncharacteristically gross sweat pants, which are against Plastic Law and suddenly, she's no longer their leader, nor is she still "graciously allowed" to sit with them. Gretchen screams that she can't sit with them, and Regina huffs that they can walk home.

Monster Regina is critically hurt, but she's far from dead.

Monster Cady gets out of the concert with her parents, lying about going to Janis' art show to throw a house party just to invite Aaron and not invite Regina.

For the party, Cady wears a black dress with a thick vertical pink stripe, mirroring Regina's too small, pink dress with a thick black belt.

The party's wild. Cady's overwhelmed and can't find Aaron.

Regina just shows up like the Monster she is and stomps around angrily, telling Shane she invented Monster Cady and who does Cady think she is not inviting her. (Which, I mean, you know what. That's honestly valid. She did invent Monster Cady, however unintentional it was that Cady ended up so powerful.)

Meanwhile, Cady finds Aaron snooping around in her room. She's mildly inebriated and, though anxious, her inhibitions are low enough that she admits to faking stupid to be "allowed" to talk to Aaron. She calls Aaron, Monster Regina's property, annoying him into realizing and calling Monster Cady a clone of Regina (accurate).

Regina barges in as Cady actual vomits on Aaron, running after him and begging him to call her.

Immediately after, Cady's attacked by Monster Janis and Damian yelling at her for not inviting them to the party and telling her that Aaron still doesn't fucking want her, so why is she still actively trying to ruin Regina's life. She calls her a Mean Girl and a Bitch, chucking a painting of the three of them at her.

Later, Regina's seen with Shane complaining that she can't trust anyone anymore and shoving a kalteen bar down her throat... Until Shane explains what they actually do.

Regina's pissed.

She devises the (honestly genius) plan to write mean things about herself in the Burn Book and lie that it's not hers, inciting absolute Chaos in the hallways as she throws around pages of the book and slides them under doors. Cady calls it full tilt Jungle Madness.

Cady's now out of her element, realizing the kids are talking about her behind her back.

Duvall and Norbury do their best to be the Heroes and squash the drama and hatred in the school girl population. Norbury leads an exercise in expression of anger.

Regina insists that the school doesn't have a Clique problem and some kids are victims of the situation. Norbury agrees and ask who's felt personally victimized by Monster Regina. Cady's the first to raise her hand, being followed by everyone in the room.

Cady lies that she has nothing to own up to or apologize for and Norbury is disappointed for it, leading an exercise in apologizing for saying mean things about each other.

Instead of going next after Gretchen, Cady starts to walk away and Janis skips the line to admit to all of the mean things she and Cady did to Regina.

Regina's fucking pissed.

Then she gets hit by a bus and breaks her spine.

Monster Cady's hurt, though. She's getting shit from her parents now, and when she admits that she started the rumor about Norbury selling drugs, she gets in trouble for it.

She comments on Regina being living proof that the more people are scared of you, the more flowers you get.

She comments on Norbury being living proof that no good deed goes unpunished.

Then she apologizes to Norbury and joins the Mathletes.

But she only wins after realizing making fun of her contestant wouldn't stop her from losing the contest, among other things as she slowly regressed from being a Monster to her old self. She tries to get out of going to the spring Fling, saying she's grounded, but she's already out so she might as well. The frightening stuff is over.

She shows up in time to hear that she's elected Spring Fling Queen and walks on stage to "accept" the crown.

She breaks the fucking Plastic crown.

She throws a piece to Gretchen, a piece to Janis, a piece to Regina, and a piece to Damian.

She walks off with a grin, declaring to Janis that she's no longer an Asshole. She's rewarded with having Janis and Damian back, gaining a boyfriend in Aaron, and a gift certificate for pancakes.

The Plastics disband.

Monster Regina becomes Jock Regina (we stan).

Plastic Mindless Minion Karen puts her talents to good use.

Plastic Mindless Minion Gretchen finds a new Queen Bee to serve.

Q1: Describe your comfort zone—a typical you-fic.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... My usual default when I don't know what to write is what I like to call a "fear chamber" fic. The whole point of these is to see exactly what a character's worst fear is, then deconstruct it-- How they would act, how they would break out, how the other people around them respond. This is where ideas like "Circle the Drain" come from-- I have an innate need to write that for my faves.

My other usual type of fic that I default to is either a nice "It seems really sweet and cute but wait! It's actually tragic, whoops!" or "Two characters who don't interact.... I think they should interact now. :3" though I will admit I have a fondness for writing meet-cutes with my rarepair.

...Most of Enemies to Lovers, actually. (I'm more of a "Friends to Lovers" or "Friends/Lovers to Enemies who can't hurt the other directly but will do anything to take them down for the good of others" sort of person.)

Even though there's a lot of ideas I don't like, I'll still admit they can be written pretty well in the right hands. Those ones are the ones I can say that I don't actually like ever (I've not had an enemies-to-lovers ship though so...)

Q13: What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?

The one piece that's stuck with me all of my life is the post I've seen about "writing a sunset." This is where I get some of my major angst prowess from. I'd like to quote from there:

"Don’t take away what someone loves. Take away their hope of seeing it again."

However, it doesn't end there. And this is the real part that sticks with me.

"Taking away an ability doesn’t stop someone. It merely gives them a reason to try something else. And though it might seem bleak and hopeless, there’s always a chance. And that chance is sometimes the saddest and most joyful part of all."

Writing a sunset is the idea of writing the most horrible thing happening to a character, such as Otto's massive breakdown that's occurring throughout Mentallis's Museum Mayhem... But then you bring back that reminder that there is a way through. There are people who care, there are things he can do, and it's not all hopeless. That's why Otto's Ordeal is there. It's showing that even at the darkest points, we can work through it together, and I really do care about that. It's things like writing a character who loves to sing becoming mute, so they learn to dance or play an instrument instead. It's good stuff.

Q38: Talk about a review that made your day.

Ooh boy. You know what time it is? It's time to talk about Ghostfish.

Ghostfish is a commenter who's only just showed up on my fics with MMM and Otto's Ordeal. The thing is, I don't know anything about this person other than that they choose to go by Ghostfish, and they're basically a god among men to me. They randomly showed up on my stories...

And they post a freaking essay. For every single chapter I write for Otto's Ordeal. They point out the lines they like, bring up foreshadowing, point out symbolism, come up with ideas for what things could mean. It feels glorious to see them every time they appear because Ghostfish reminds me that people care. They care so, so much that someone wanted to write an essay about a little fanfic.

Over four comments on my fics, Ghostfish has written a combined total of 4595 words, and they have inspired me to write so much more on that story just because of them. I could never leave comments like that-- I'm anxious, I'm really bad at picking up on symbolism and on foreshadowing (I literally get surprised by things in kids movies still. The only foreshadowing I got right was that I knew the plot twist of Detective Pikachu while I was playing the game so I went into the movie like "I better be right about that gosh darn it" so when the reveal happened I was so hyper about getting it right because I'd not done that before.) This one commenter is the most incredible one I could ever ask for because their analysis is so thorough that it makes me feel like I need to do my best to make it worth their time.

Every comment is fantastic, but Ghostfish has my heart and soul for these long ones.

For the character thingy, romana and leela?? ❤

ROMANA - I’m going to answer for Romana I, since I already did Romana II!

favorite thing about them: so I fell in love with Romana I instantly when I watched The Ribos Operation. I was like “wait no one told me that Romana’s basically a recent graduate who always thrived in school but has now suddenly been thrust into the Real World and is a bit of a mess” and oh my god why is she so relatable, also I love that about her. I love that she doesn’t quite know what she’s doing, and her academic brilliance doesn’t necessarily help in the situations she’s finding herself in, but she keeps trying and learning, so by the end of season 16 she’s much more confident and capable on her own than she was when she started. I just absolutely adore the premise of her character and how she develops during the key to time quest. also her banter skills are so excellent. (….this wasn’t one thing whoops. 😄)

least favorite thing about them: I feel like it’s something about how she’s portrayed in the Gallifrey audios, but I can’t quite articulate what? but I feel like somehow, some of the things I really liked about her on TV (her witty fun banter, her determination even when she’s out of her depth) aren’t represented as much when we get glimpses of Actual Romana I (not Pandora or an alternate universe version). idk if this is even fully true, it’s just….she doesn’t quite have the same vibe as the character I remember from the TV show (but this is also tricky because the Lies scene, the Matrix projection in Lies (which *isn’t* really her technically) and the remains of her consciousness in the body that Pandora’s using are the only times we get Actual Romana I - which isn’t that much time to express all the nuances of her character.)

brOTP: her and the Doctor!! (like I said in the Romana II ask, I used to ship them more, but lately I’ve been more into a platonic interpretation.) I just as instantly fell for their dynamic in the Ribos Operation - two people with very different personalities who don’t get along but are forced to work together and gradually become friends?? this is exactly the kind of relationship arc that I adore. Their banter and snark is So Good (I was so entertained by their interactions in Ribos Operation that my brain refused to pay attention to anything but their scenes, and I ended up having issues following the plot later oops). And I love their growing respect and care for each other - how they go from being mutually dismissive of each other to valuing each other and being a solid Team and just really genuinely liking each other! their friendship is just Very Good (…..and now I really want to rewatch season 16….I’ve only seen it like one and a half times but I loved it very much….)

OTP: I don’t think I have any ships with Romana I that I would consider an ‘otp’? (the closest would be her and the Doctor since I have sometimes shipped them and I adore their relationship in general)

nOTP: Brax/Romana again….and tbh with Romana I it’s more of an actual nOTP (rather than ‘kinda nOTP, kinda ‘it’s complicated’’) because this is the time frame when she’s actually his student and so my discomfort with student/teacher relationships really rears its head (although there’s still one fic out there that I just think is so well-written.....but it does show the relationship as very unhealthy). 

random headcanon: .....so sorry to continue Sartia posting, but oops the first thing that popped into my head is my new maybe-unrealistic headcanon that Sartia was Romana’s first kiss. in a teenage “I’m curious and want to try this thing and you’re the only person I hang out with, but it doesn’t mean anything....or does it??” way. (.....this is so self-indulgent in such a terrible way rip.)

unpopular opinion: Armageddon Factor is my favorite Key to Time story! (I gather this is an unpopular opinion in Doctor Who Fandom At Large, it doesn’t seem to be liked as much as some of the earlier stories in the season.) technically I’ve only seen it once and it was a couple years ago, but I remember loving it as a Romana story, there were a lot of really interesting character bits for her!

favorite thing about them: her resilience and her kindness. Leela goes through so much grief and pain, she has her world upended again and again, she never really finds a place where she belongs. and yet she still keeps choosing to love, choosing to keep fighting for what she believes in, choosing to rebuild again and again. and sometimes it’s really hard and she doesn’t want to go on….but she does, and she finds moments of happiness again. and that strength is really powerful. and no matter how cruel the universe (and other people) are to her, she is still relentlessly kind - she listens, she protects, she wants to help, she cares. 

least favorite thing about them: I mean, the “savage” stereotype that her character references is a racist/anti-indigenous trope (especially the whole dynamic of the Doctor trying to “civilize” her ugh). and I hate that characters keep calling her “savage” (even when they’re the Bad Guys, it’s still bringing up this trope again and again, and it’s even worse when it’s the Good Guys). why are they still doing this.

brOTP: see all characters listed under otp, every relationship that I ship is also an incredibly important friendship in Leela’s life and I love all of them <33 as far as relationships that I see as entirely non-romantic….I really love the version of Leela and Ace’s relationship that exists in my head (and in fandom) - they didn’t get to interact enough in the audios, but I absolutely think they were really close, because of their shared experiences and the ways their personalities mesh. (I feel like I should also say the Doctor here, but tbh I don’t remember her TV stories that well, so I don’t really have a solid memory of what their relationship was like.) and of course, Leela’s parental relationship with Rayo is very important to me!

OTP: once again, ot3 my beloved <33 and Leela/Romana first and foremost (I already rambled about them here, so I’m just going to second everything I said earlier). 

and I also ship Leela/Narvin, although I’m not quite as invested in that pairing? (due to a combination of ‘Romana is my favorite character and so I’m just more interested in her relationships with other characters,’ ‘I joined the fandom when things were pretty much all Leela/Narvin all the time (I say with great respect and affection for the artists and writers putting out amazing content for that ship) so I was motivated to write fic primarily for R/L and N/R to balance out the ot3 content,’ ‘apparently I have a contrary streak with Gallifrey and the more the writers push a romantic interpretation of a relationship, the less interested I am in actually shipping it,’ and ‘I’m not really into Leela/Narvin as a pairing on its own - although I do love a lot of fic that portrays them that way bc it’s just very well-written.’) But just. how they form a grudging alliance for Romana’s sake and then develop genuine respect for each other and then build this really solid foundation of teamwork and fondness and care and really relax and feel comfortable around each other….the way they become ride-or-die for each other and just trust and love each other so much….it’s Very Good!! (And I did love writing scenes with the two of them in Call It Home - I might not focus on them, but I do genuinely love their relationship.) 

And of course Leela/Veega <33….I debated if they even interacted enough in the actual audios for me to consider it an otp, but I love the idea of their relationship and the story of them in my head so much?? going to link to this post because it really captures my feelings about them - they’ve both been through so much grief and pain by the time they meet, they’ve both lost people they love before, so the idea of them choosing to love each other and build something together against the odds is just. very powerful. plus I have a whole playlist for the family they’ve built together, which is a strong indication that I really love this ship. 😊

nOTP: Leela/Andred. last time I answered an ask meme about Leela, I had this complicated response about how I hated Leela/Andred when I watched Invasion of Time (bc it’s so abrupt and arbitrary), and then Louise Jameson’s voice acting Convinced Me To Care because oh she really did love him....alas i am a Leela/Andred detractor at heart, and I have been nudged back to my default state by re-listening….I simply hate how he treats Leela in Gallifrey.

random headcanon: I really like the idea of Leela being more politically involved in her own right after they all return from the Axis. She’s just spent a lot of time leading a group of people who don’t have a voice in the government, fighting for their rights against the established injustices of Gallifreyan society. I don’t think she’d easily slip back into only being Romana’s bodyguard after experiencing more political autonomy on the other Gallifrey. What exactly this looks like in practice I’m not sure about - in my one fic ‘verse, I wrote about her being more directly involved with the Academy as a political liaison and guest tutor, and also advocating to Romana for policies that would benefit those who live outside the city on their home Gallifrey. but there’s probably a lot of options to explore here!

unpopular opinion: hmm I don’t think this is necessarily unpopular but idk and I want to talk about it: even though Leela identifies so strongly as a warrior, a “happy ending” for her would, I think, need to involve getting away from fighting. too often she throws herself into a fight to try to avoid thinking about how much she’s hurting, and it doesn’t work, it doesn’t stop the pain. and in the Time War, she’s tied her identity so strongly to war (it’s inevitable, inescapable, and she will Fight and Defend because that’s all she has left). there’s a difference between “I am a warrior” and “all I am is a warrior,” and Leela’s slid too far into the second one, and she needs to untangle her own identity from war to heal.

Favorite character: Diego 💕 but Five is a close second.

Least Favorite character: Reginald! The only good thing I can say about him is that he brought the Hargreeves together. Oh, and I guess he did give Vanya her first violin. Still an awful guy though.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Not sure I have a full five, but in no particular order: Lila/Five, Diego/Vanya, Agnes/Hazel, Luther/Alison, and Five/Vanya

Character I find most attractive: Probably Ben, but Alison is a gorgeous close second.

Character I would marry: Maybe Diego? Possibly Klaus after season two if he could stay sober.

a random thought: I hope there’s not an apocalypse next season, and I hope the next time they do an apocalypse, it’s not because Vanya loses control of her powers but rather some other siblings who sets it off.

An unpopular opinion: Luther was just as messed up as the rest of his siblings by Reginald and deserves the same amount of understanding/forgiveness for his mistakes.

most badass character: Five

pairing I am not a fan of: I can’t really get behind Ben/Klaus. Most of the other ships I’m at least neutral on, but that one just isn’t for me.

character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I can’t say that they screwed her up yet, but if they magically bring the Handler back next season I think that’d be a major screw up on the writers back. Once I get, and I love the character, but they can’t keep killing her off and then bringing her back without the whole thing losing the impact it had the first time. (Now if they find a way to have her past self pop in now and again to make things sticky, I could be down for that, but I don’t want her back as a main antagonist again.)

favourite friendship: Ben and Klaus... which also might be why I don’t ship them romantically. They’re too much of a brOTP for me.

character I want to adopt or be adopted by: all the little Hargreeves! :( And maybe Lila too, let them have more normal childhoods.

BtVS and TW aired at two such different times that I don’t think I’ve ever thought about crossover potential between them.

And since I couldn’t seem to think of an OTP, I went with three potential dynamics I wouldn’t mind exploring XD

Is it odd that I think there’s potential between Willow and Peter? There’d have to either be some history there, maybe they bonded in early school years. Or else Peter manipulated and pushed Willow, either because he saw her as an easy target or because he sensed the magic potential in her and was poking at it, to the point she snapped back. Once its established that there’s some hefty bite behind the fuzzy sweaters and nervous babble, he’d get curious. And curiosity would eventually lead to some kind of relationship, whether romantic or platonic. Peter would become weirdly protective over her, but not in a physical sense so much as a he speaks to her in a way that isn’t designed to provoke, and will glare/threaten those who he feels isn’t giving her the care she deserves.

I think I could also at least mildly ship Scott/Dawn for some reason. I don’t know why, but I feel like his puppiness and her sort of optimistic awkwardness could click. Plus he’d take the whole “I was a glowy blob of energy for most of my life” thing in stride. 

Oz, being BtVS’ primary werewolf, would have been great as a Just Passing Through wolf who runs into the Hale pack circa Derek’s keeps-turning-high school-students phase and who ends up sticking around for a bit. He’s not an official pack member, he likes his lone wolf status just fine, but he’s discovered quite a bit of harmonizing with his inner wolf and ways of controlling a shift that he ends up becoming kind of a much needed mentor. He also has a plethora of much needed supernatural knowledge and unlike Deaton, he’s willing to share.

How I feel about this character: Sarcastic, grumpy asshole with selective morals! *heart eyes*

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Kate... that’s it, the whole list. No seriously, all the ship questions below have the exact same answer... Kate...

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Gecko Brothers are brOTP to the max. They are ride or die for each other and I love that they are such a package deal.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Not sure I have an unpopular opinion on him specifically. At least not one that I haven’t mentioned before, lol.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:  Whoops, almost missed this one. The show did a pretty good job at showing Seth’s journey, I’m not sure there’s anything I would change per say, but maybe getting to see a bit more of what was happening during the time between seasons. The Mexican Honeymoon and the Seth and Richie integrating into the culebra world, that sort of thing.

my het ship: SethKate 100%

my fem/slash ship: I really only ship him with Kate... so maybe Kade, the stubborn preacher’s son trying to hold his family together after the death of his mama when they’re family vacation gets hijacked by a couple bankrobbers trying to flee to Mexico.... and I actually remember seeing I think it was a gif set, but it might have just been some pics, of someone’s idea of a genderswapped Kate Fuller and now I’m trying to figure out the actor they used...

I’m kind of picturing this guy (only with a dye job and maybe some green contacts), but he’s got a more masculine version of Madison’s jaw and his nose, while not perfect (she’s got a pretty unique nose) is long and slender like hers, and his eyes have that sort of slight downward angle.

I found one other guy that might work, his mouth was spot on and his eyes were practically perfect, but his nose is all wrong, his look much edgier (although that could be easily changed), and his jaw/chin wasn’t quite right. He’s here if you‘re curious. :)

my OTP: SethKate... yeah, I’m pretty predictable :P

my OT3: I’ve at least enjoyed the occassional Seth/Kate/Richie fic, so that’d probably be the closet I have to an OT3 for Seth

my cross over ship: er... I’m not sure I’d put Seth with anyone else. Maybe for funsies I’d play with the idea of movie!Seth/show!Kate and/or show!Seth/movie!Kate, but that’d be as far into crossover territory I’d take him romantically.

my kink: I don’t know that I have a go-to one, but that little one sentence prompt where Seth tries to seduce Ms. Fuller? I really want to explore more of that. So student/teacher?

a head cannon fact: Seth, for all his rebellion and bluster and rudeness, doesn’t know it but he wants the approval of those he sees as father figures, to himself and others. With guys like Uncle Eddie it comes out as trying to please them, charm them, make them like him and find him worthy of their approval and praise. For others, like Jacob Fuller, who he thinks will never accept him, will always find see him as beneath him, he goes of his way to try and prove that he doesn’t want or need their acceptance, shoving it in their face at every turn.

my gender bend: Michelle Rodriguez is the first person I thought of. I wish I could find more pics of her in Seth approved outfits, but you’ll have to make due with what I did find :P

Hmmmm... This is tough... Maybe the lack of developed friendships with people outside of RBY? She has them and her sister and other than that she either doesn't get along with others or just straight up doesn't talk to them enough to know them 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have no idea how popular my opinions are????? So this might just be more of an opinion.... She should have won the fight in v2 against Random White Fang Chainsaw Guy. She deserved a win and a boost of confidence and it literally had no bearing on the plot. Why not just give it to her???? 😂

Ha. Ok no one is going to know what I'm talking about but the first song that comes to mind is Broken Mirrors by Rise Against. There's a line in the bridge that goes "Confront your reflection, smash what you see, and let's restart because mirrors can't see your heart" and it always makes me think of Weiss wanting to reclaim her family name and become a better person 🙃
