So, I have been thinking over your conversations about Ace Dustin and it made me rethink the reasons I carried that headcanon, it was always because I related to him the most. I'm ace and he was always my fav and I tend to project onto my fav character in a lot of media I enjoy.

I also headcanon Murray as ace, something about him resonated with me and I loved that headcanon.

I also thought about your words; "why not Nancy, Joyce, Jonathan, etc." and I agree, why not them? It's wise to think proactively about our headcanons and how it speaks to other people around us.

I would love to see more characters portrayed on the ace and/or aro spectrum because it's never the same from individual to individual. It would be nice to see diversity in this.

Hey Nonnie!! At the risk of it coming off negatively…I want to start out by saying: thank you for being Normal about this all. Genuinely.

Ace Murry is an absolute favorite of mine!! He and Jonathan give off so many ace vibes (though I lean towards demi/gray for Jonathan but full on ace for Murray) Like…gough. Impeccable.

I personally have not seen ace headcanons for Nancy/Steve/Joyce/Hopper/etc. I’ve only seen Jon recently (as in I found out other people headcanoned him the way I do because of this big controversial post). It’s always Dustin or Will, who imho have a non-insignificant amount of allosexual coding.

Nonnie, I think you’re one of the few people talking to me about this topic that Gets It. It’s not about me disliking ace headcanons. It’s never been about that. The problem is the pattern of who is chosen and the implicit bias in those choices.

I’m not telling people the can’t hold those headcanons. Not once have I said that. All I said was that it has little canon basis, and that people should examine the other parts of the characters they choose, parts that might make an asexual headcanon harmful/might feed into stereotypes about other marginalized communities.

I would love to see more aroace Nancy, aspec/arospec Hopper, demi Joyce!! Hell, I’m on the aro spectrum. I don’t typically use microlabels (because to cishets, a queer is a queer), but for anyone who cares: I am cupioromantic. I would kill to see more diversity in the aroace headcanon territory.

(In fact…I have been warming up to cupioromantic Henry, which I was particularly resistant to because of his status as a mental/emotional and sexual abuse victim. However. I cannot escape the character projection death spiral.)

My issue is with people who refuse to see the bigger picture, how people outside the ace community and especially people from other marginalized communities (i.e. the disabled community, gay men, SA victims…of which I am 3 for 3) might perceive their representation always being assigned asexual in spite of that not-insignificant allo coding.

Again, I’m not saying people can’t hold those headcanons, I just need them to acknowledge the pattern of stereotypes and implicit bias.

hello charlotte - lgbtq+ headcanons (and also canon lgbtq+ characters)

So, this is pretty widely accepted throughout the fandom - but I have to say she just seems transfem to me. There are even some possible hints that she might be transfem, and knowing etherane, I really wouldn’t be surprised.

First possible hint is young Charlotte. Not being feminine as a kid and then being very feminine later on obviously doesn’t mean you’re trans, I just thought it was something worth noting. In hc2, I believe there is a scene where Aiden encourages Charlotte to try being feminine, and you can see that she’s much more outwardly happy and expressive presenting as more feminine. Second possible hint is Seth. It was mentioned that male puppeteers are usually not assigned to female puppeteers, which could be a possible hint that she wasn’t biologically female.

Third possible hint was Charlotte’s haircut. Of course, any person would be upset if some people at school cut their hair, but some specific lines mentioned not wanting to let anyone see her and that a stranger stared back at her in the mirror - though that could have just been anxiety. All in all, none of these three things are for certain indicators that Charlotte is transfem, it’s just nice to have a little headcanon. And to be honest, the little hints aren’t even the main reason I think she’s trans, she just - Idk it just makes sense that she’d be trans and I just vibe with it. 

I think this one is also pretty agreed on, but she just gives panromantic vibes. I also get like, demiromantic vibes? And asexual vibes. I don’t have explanations for any of these, these headcanons just vibe with me. Felix Honikker

Next up, my fave, Felix. So my biggest headcanon is that he’s asexual because - well, ew, people, gross. And he just seems omniromantic to me. Again, can’t explain, the headcanon just vibes. And he just - Idk I feel like he’s transmasc and neutrios. Someone also mentioned that he seemed genderfluid and that headcanon is extremely valid. And someone mentioned him being aroace which, is also very extremely valid. Bennett

I know C is technically Charles in a Vincent vessel, but shhh, I see him as his own kind of character. Like Charles, he’s genderfluid and asexual - and I could see him as being demiromantic and panromantic.

Frei is canon agender! Or at the very least, he described himself as genderless. I feel like he would be asexual and omniromantic, kinda like my headcanon for Felix.

I know that Freya and Frei are both the Oracle, but each form the Oracle takes just seems like a seperate form to me. I can’t put Freya, Frei, and that other Oracle that was in Scarlett’s head into the same category. Freya is also probably agender but takes a feminine form and identifies with being female while also being genderless. I feel like she’d identify as a lesbian? And also be like, ace? Sorry if this doesn’t make any sense jafioejrpaewrojofjo.

i could easily just resort to saying they use body transformation magic to instantly alter their bodies, but i think that makes it a little harder to relate to the trans characters in this world if you can just go "bippity boppity boobs" and get the exact bodies they want without it being a process

it's the same reason why allison has to pay rent instead of them living in a beautiful post-scarcity utopia with free housing. their world is better than ours, but i still want them to have similar problems for the story to feel grounded and relatable

the demo only lets you explore roughly half the town. there's a bit more past those barricades to the south and east that will be seen in the full game, like the library, claire and jodie's house, etc.
