Okay, Ive decided I actually really DO need to make an appreciation post for Ryusui. This man.. seriously, HOW did I get so invested in this man?? I shouldve known. The fucking MOMENT I thought "oh no he seems like hes going to be infuriating" I shouldve REALIZED there was going to be more going on here and.. I SORT of knew. I learned with Law. And with FMA Greed, actually. Ryusui was CONSTANTLY giving off vibes of "Hate me LOATHE me" while simultaneously COUNTERING them with endless love and an absolutely INSANE amount of development and depth the further you get into the series!! I swear it was on PURPOSE.

The second that man said "you may despise me, but I love you!! Because I desire every woman on this earth- and every man too! Im the greediest man alive, after all" (or something along those lines, dr stone readers know what im talking about) and with that glowing smile on his face to BOOT, I knew I was doomed. And I am, Im so doomed. A man who USES greed for love and unification?? And progress and advancements, instead of the stereotypical evil connotations?? My heart was already on the VERGE of being taken. But then.. they just kept going further!!! Born a rich kid but doesnt just snap his fingers and expect other people to do things for him, to lead the way in getting for him what he desires- no. If he DESIRES something, then even if he has to be the one to figure out HOW to obtain it, how to MAKE it, on his own then he absolutely WILL.

He straight up will go DAYS on no sleep or anything, working himself to the GROUND making those model ships and then will compensate BEYOND generously anyone who helps to bring his creation to life?? Hes the kind of man who will "desire" the safety of his workers and sailors and will go TOE TO TOE WITH GOD HIMSELF TO SEE TO THE HAPPINESS AND SAFETY OF ANYONE UNDER HIS CARE (lmao didnt mean to imply Senku was God or anything. Senku and that beautiful gambling debacle aside Ryusui WOULD have desired a way to march straight to the heavens and FIGHT God if he knew he was a direct threat to anyone he cared about and damn it he wouldve made it HAPPEN).

And just.. theres that saying of throwing money around, and usually with rich people that kind of stuff makes you RAGE but he does it in the BEST way!! The kind of man who will see a waitress holding back tears at a diner and be like "an expression like that on a beautiful face such as yours breaks my heart. It cannot continue, for I desire your happiness!" And gives her a $1k+ dollar tip and speaks with the establishment to arrange for her a long vacation and whatever else to combat what was making her sad. And did I even mention yet how he says ANY and EVERY woman is a beauty that must be treasured no MATTER their age and looks etc?? Hes the DIRECT counter to "If she BREATHES she a THOT" no no ALL women are QUEENS. Yet he is ALSO an absolute pansexual icon!! And he just keeps GOING. He develops more and MORE and just when you think youve finally understood him he goes DEEPER. He desires more than ANYTHING to go on that space trip.. yet he desires the success of the space trip MORE and anything that needs to be done to make it happen even if it MEANS recognizing that he isnt the best candidate to take one of the positions.. im just... ive gotten to the point where he could tell me he desires anything and whatever it is I would just GIVE it. Im so attached to him now. Ive never made a ramble appreciation post for ANY specific character that I remember and even tho i could even be considered late to the party on this.. I just NEEDED to okay?? I need. More love for this man. And honestly RIP to my wallet because of it

Ok actually i wanted to continue from my previous tags cause I kept thinking about this and its a chance for me to rattle off some things I know about the Horse Show.

Equestrias Like. a mishmash of North America and the UK, but also a bit to the south theres "Tenochtitlan Basin" and similar references to like. Aztec aesthetics- There's a character called Ahuizotl whos clearly meant to be like. an Ahuizotl? He only ever shows up to be an antagonist for their indiana jones character though.

Canterlot and its surrounding area are UK coded, including the city of "Bales", a place near canterlot believed to be Mythical for some reason- its been mentioned as a reference to Wales. Theres also "Trotland" (scotland) in the comics iirc?

Bales is at the foot of Foal Mountain near Ponhenge (Horse stonehenge) by the way, The two are unrelated but there is in fact a Horse Stonehenge.

Equestria also has places like. Vanhoover, Las Pegasus, Baltimare, and Neighagra falls with fairly clear associations off name alone, but thats not where the meat is.

Southern equestria, youve got Tenochtitlan Basin and a vague jungle type area with similar references. Also in southern equestria, theres the desert town of "Sonambula", Which is on the outskirts of a pyramid with a sphinx inside and is like. one of the only references to egyptian aesthetics. "Tartarus" is a giant cavern sealed by magic where bad guys get imprisoned.

Equestria itself was founded through the unification of three pony communities, none of which have proper Names:

The Pegasi, who had, and continue to have, quite a bit of Greco-Roman flair, though more Roman in the past, and more Greek aesthetics in the current era.

The Earth Ponies, who were lead by a "Chancellor", and whose outfits were clearly modeled, at least in part, after spanish conquistador armor

And Unicorns, who were British and had a Monarchy.

All three had been locked in Very tense cooperation that always threatened to escalate when they were driven from where they previously were (The North) down into equestria due to an unceasing blizzard, and the main leaders of each kingdom nearly died in a cave together, surviving only through their subordinates decision to actually work together instead of war.

The North is now just called "The Frozen North" because that storm did not stop, and has rendered pretty much anywhere unprotected by magic completely unlivable.

Outside of Equestria, the comics mention Thrace, ruled by the pony King Diomedes. He's an antagonist in that comic iirc? Idk he doesnt like Equestria.

Farasi is also brought up in the comics as somewhere Outside of equestria where Zebras, Abada, and Kelpies live.

Other places mentioned offhandedly are Maretania (Mauritania), Puerto Caballo (Puerto Cabella), Yucatán Ponynsula (Yucatán Peninnsula), Gallopinghost Islands (Galapagos), Maremany (Germany), Neighpon (Japan), Saddle Arabia (Saudi Arabia), Prance(France), Shire Lanka (Sri Lanka). Most of these places are mentioned to have dignitaries or diplomats, their own languages, and sometimes even direct variations of the usual pony form.

However.

Outside of Thrace and Farasi, Whether or not these places are Outside of the borders of Equestria, is unclear. For some of them, it's directly implied that they are actually located within the borders of Equestria, making Equestria itself a "Kingdom of Kingdoms".

As for Pony Catholicism and Judaism- Judaism is something I can confirm as existing, as there's an aside where its mentioned a background pony is at a motel to celebrate his Bar mitzvah, but for Catholicism, that's a bit trickier? The Notre Dame is mentioned by a book Twilight's reading at one point, and the town of Canter Creek had a "Reverend Blazing Saddles", but outside of that, there... isn't really anything, not in Canon.

Despite fanon interpretations of the alicorns as gods, the only being ever referred to as a deity in any way is Discord, God of Chaos- though Celestia and Luna's names are both often used as exclamations, much like how people might say "For gods sakes".

The star and crescent symbol on this Saddle Arabian diplomat's (blanket? I guess?) implies that there was a pony Ottoman Empire at some point.
