🍓 - how did I get into writing fanfiction?

Welp! I'm an avid reader but I have borderline aphantasia so I can't picture things in my head which made reading original books difficult. I stumbled on fanfiction to kinda help with that since characters/scenes/places are already pictured/rendered/whatever. I've always been a huge writer, even got a short story published in middle school (and accused of plagiarizing a history report because it was "too good" 🙃 bastard). The aphantasia makes it hard to write originals but I LOVE WRITING so I took a nose dive into writing fanfiction instead and *jazz hands* TAH DAH~

🧃 - share some personal lore I've never posted before

HOOOOOO BOI there's a lot. I think I'm boring till I'm telling someone a story and then it's like wait, this ISN'T the normal human experience?????? But I say YOLT (you only live twice) which I'm pretty sure I've put in a fic or two in relation to Jason but I did die once. Whole nine yards. So no YOLO for me anymore 🤣

🔪 - what's the weirdest topic I've researched for a writing project?

Autopsies, corernors and what that whole process entails for 'autopsies are a dying practice'. I got lost down a dank, dark rabbit hole there :v Squished between all the first aid and weapons searches. (It was a wiiiiiiild amalgamation there for a lil bit)

❄️ - what's my dream theme/plot for a fic, and who would write it best?

Kgkgodmzjfiguvjfksp so. Many. There is a 20 page doc of discarded ideas/scenes. It's like my junk drawer for ideas. BUT, there's this one of a time traveling Tim fic where he discovers he's a time agent and goes back and meets his younger self who is Sassy™️ and already aware of being an agent and things happen which I think Moxibustion over on AO3 would cruuuuuush. And I'm a sucker for creature fics/modern magic (I have a prooooooblem) so I would go F E R A L for another werewolf fic from @ragnarokhound or more fantasy/magic from @takemetomyfragiledreams (I got a taste of both and now I'm over here all "may I have some more, sir? 🥺🥺🥺)

I do!!! My little man, Ünder. He's ancient but I love him so much, found him behind a dumpster in the middle of winter as a kitten while I was in high school. Ain't never looked back. (He's my prissy, bougie bitch ☺️☺️)

are you staying home from school/work?

unfortunately so, which means that i have effectively finished high school since this was my last year anyways. exams have also been cancelled so i don’t have an excuse to go back to school and say a proper goodbye unless i’m returning textbooks lmao

are you a homebody?

i mean... not really. i prefer staying in to going out most of the time, but i liked having the freedom to choose what i want to do, so being restricted to just going for a walk around my tiny village is annoying lmao. but i know it keeps people safe so i’ll get over it.

any event you were looking forward to that got cancelled?

a muck up day at school on our last day (quarantine was imposed 2 weeks before we were due to break off from school for the easter holidays, and then we’d have been on study leave and then sitting exams, so the muck up day was meant to be a nice send off for our last day. it obviously didn’t happen, but we wore our own clothes instead of uniform, took pictures, ate cake etc, so it wasn’t terrible, but it could have been better). we haven’t heard anything about prom yet, but i think it might get cancelled. who knows.

what movies have you been watching recently?

i made a whole list of movies i’ve put off watching due to school, and i’m slowly (very slowly) making my way through it. so far i’ve only watched one, dunkirk, and i really enjoyed it. i plan to watch minority report next.

what are you doing for self care?

trying to remind myself that i don’t have to do things like school work to be productive. also drinking a lot of tea.

what shows are you watching?

currently - a lot. i watched a lot of tv before the quarantine happened anyways, but my favourites right now are minority report (the tv show, not the film), criminal minds and cbs s.w.a.t. typing that out i’ve really noticed a pattern with the amount of crime drama shows i watch. dare i say future criminology student?? oh we also watched the first ep of tiger king, and i think we’re in for a wiiiiiiild ride.

what music have you been listening to?

pretty much everything i used to - a big variety. mostly consisting of linkin park, green day, american idiot the musical (yes, because of stark sands) and a lot of other artists i can’t think of off the top of my head.

what books are you reading?

currently trying to finish generation kill by evan wright, and then start one bullet away by nate fick. also reading a lot of band of brothers/generation kill fanfic - quarantine really is bringing out the hbo war stan in me oops.

what games are you playing?

i mean.. if card games, kahoots and those games you get on house party count as games then i’ve been playing those with my friends/family a lot lmao. in terms of video games i don’t even have a console - i’m not a big fan of playing video games anyways, i prefer to watch lets plays of people playing them. i really love detroit: become human though! my favourite playthrough is jacksepticeye’s because he gets the best route and then he goes back and gets the worst possible endings, it’s great.
