Bridgerton-Inspired AU

a/n: heads-up, this is a version of a bridgerton au where it’s Lucemond’s daughter that takes over daphne’s place - there MIGHT be a follow up where luke is in daphne’s place and aemond’s in simon’s:)

Summary: Meeting the Targaryens of Summerhall, and an overview of Cascenya - Lucemond’s second daughter and fourth child - making a deal with Toron Greyjoy, the son of one Dalton Greyjoy, the traitorous rebel

It’s a semi-soft family au with luke as violet bridgerton and aemond as an alive edmund bridgerton. This au is heavily inspired by @corviids “love resembles a misty dream” story on ao3 and obviously the Netflix series “Bridgerton”.

Lucemond’s children include; the eldest twins, a boy named Aemon Targaryen and a girl named Aemma Targaryen, the second son is Baelor Targaryen, the second daughter and fourth child is named Cascenya Targaryen, the third son and fifth child, Daelon Targaryen, the third daughter and sixth child, Elaena Targaryen, the third daughter and seventh child named Faena Targaryen, a fifth son and eighth child, Gaemon Targaryen, and finally, the youngest are another set of twins, a girl named Haera Targaryen and a boy named Haerion Targaryen.

The eldest’s namesakes are after Aemond for the son, and the daughter’s namesake being after Luke’s grandmother on his mother’s side. Daelon is named after Daeron, Aemond’s younger brother while Elaena is named after his sister, Helaena. Haera and Haerion are named after Harwin Strong, though it’s only speculation by outsiders - especially those who continue to believe and mock Lucerys as being a bastard son of Harwin Strong and his mother, the heir to the Iron Throne, Rhaenyra Targaryen.

Lucerys and Aemond’s marriage started off on a rocky foot, but they got better!… somewhat. They have that dynamic of being that couple that’s absolutely smitten with each other and will to anything for their beloved, but also has an on-again-off-again relationship but less toxic and more honest, they just have small little arguments that aren’t harmful to their love.

ANYWHO ONTO THE ACTUAL BRIDGERTON-BASED PLOT.

Aemon and Aemma are married to other people (Aemon, the heir to Summerhall, is married to Jace and Baela’s first daughter and third child while Aemma is married to Rhaena’s eldest son, heir to Driftmark and will one day make her the Lady of Driftmark - this is due to Joffrey abdicating his seat to Rhaena, as he and Daeron married [albeit in a ceremony known only to them, Helaena and the Septon before they made it public to everyone’s chagrin] and were given permission to make a home in Pentos, acting as Ambassadors for Westeros there).

NOW THEN; Cascenya is basically Daphne in this version of the AU.

Aemond is mostly out doing lord business, and Luke oversees the whole place and it’s residents. Luke is also responsible for matching his children as he and Aemond agreed due to Aem’s constantly changing schedule as Lord of Summerhall. As with the first season of Bridgerton, Luke prepares Cascenya for her debut into court society, and she catches the eye of Dalton Greyjoy the traitor’s eldest son, an eligible bachelor everyone’s pining for like Simon in Bridgerton.

Cascenya has no interest in the heir to House Greyjoy, but the two meet on “mysterious” circumstances (Toron definitely planned it, he’s infatuated with the white-haired beauty he saw strut in with her family) that jeopardizes Cascenya’s chances at marriage - one of the only things she genuinely looked forward to in adulthood. So the two make a deal; Toron Greyjoy will pretend to feign interest in Cascenya Targaryen to gain her suitors, all while signaling to other maidens of his unavailability as a husband (he’s most definitely VERY MUCH already in love with her, he’s a simp of a man for lil Cassy).

This agreement will hold until both get their end of the bargain. When the duo get back to the throne room, where a ball was being thrown, Lucerys was visibly joyful at this, unknowing of its true purpose, while Aemond - who surprised everyone in attendance when he appeared in front of King Viserys holding his beloved husband’s hand - looked completely stoic, with a hint of hidden malice directed at the Greyjoy.

Both Targaryen and Greyjoy blood danced in front of a crowd of onlookers, entrancing them into a circle of song and dance all while the two stared into the each other’s eyes, feigning love that hides playfulness and amusement.
