You and Riki were on a candlelit dinner date, enjoying your 1 year anniversary with food and non-alcoholic drinks. “This is nice, we should do this more of-“ “RIKI!!!” His girl best friend goes running up to him, abandoning her friend group. “heyyy.. (H/N)..” he weakly greets, not very happy to see her. You just softly smiled, it was fake but hid what you really thought of her. “hey, (H/N)..” you softly greeted, taking a sip of water. “Oh. You. You’re still dating her Riki? She’s obviously not good for you, look at her, she’s probably a gold digger, yours too handsome for her, you should-“ “(H/N)! We got a table! C’mon!” Hee friends yelled, saving you. They gave you an apologetic glance, then walked away. Hearing what she said, you started fiddling with your rings.

“c’mon jagi, don’t listen to her. you’re not a gold digger.” “Yeah I guess. I just don’t know why you’re friends with her..” you complained, slowly tearing up at memories of what she has said about you. “Jagiya.. we’ve been friends-“ “since you were a kid and can’t replace her, I know, I know.. let’s just finish dinner, yeah?” You said softly and smiled a bit at the end.

when you got home

“I just don’t understand what you have against her!” He said for the nth time as you entered your apartment. “She has hit on you 4 fucking times now Riki! It’s getting annoying! I don’t understand why you fucking keep her as your friend, because every time she sees me she always tries to put me down in front of you! ‘ohhh, she’s a gold-digger’ or ‘oh, she’s using you for fameee’ OR ‘ohhhhh, she doesn’t want you, she wants Jungwon.’ like what the hell? I don’t want Jungwon, I want you, I’m not a gold digger, I refuse anything too expensive, I don’t want fame, we. are. a. SECRET! She’s just so insuf-“”okay, I’ll talk to her about it. you were at school, the usual. Of course, (H/N) went to your school. And the comments just got so annoying. She also started hitting you? Like, gurl, it’s not their fault that they are fucking hot and you are not. Like fuck off, anyways. You just stood there in the empty hall as she hit you, not caring about pain or scars. “You. Fucking. Bitch. Riki. Is. Mine!” She punctuated each word with a hit or a kick. Then yo I waited till she was done, pulled her hair, and proceeded to beat her ass. “Don’t. Call. Me. A. Bitch. You. Fucking. Wannabe.” After that, you went home because, school ended after your little fight and no one paid you guys any attention.

“I’m home!” You yelled in case he got off early, walking into the bedroom to get the first aid kit. “Maybe he’s not home.. good, he won’t see the scars and all.” You concluded, failing to notice that his girl best friend probably called him to complain. You went and patched yourself up as an angry Riki entered the house. “(Name)?” He yelled, only having heard what (H/N) told him. “In the bathroom! I’m decent, I think!” You called to him, trying to quickly patch yourself up. “Did you get into a fight with (H/N) today? Pulling her, and shoving her down the stairs?” He asked. “Yes, but I didn’t shove her down the stairs, or pull her. First see what she did to me, then ask yourself is it as bad as what (H/N) got? Which was just me yelling in her ear and pulling her hair a bit.” He then took one good look at you and saw that it wasn’t anything as bad as what happened to her, that you got it worse. “Oh my god, I am so sorry Jagi. I’ll cut ties with her, I promise.” After that he patched you up and you guys had a movie night and cuddled. You made a mental note to pour water on (H/N) because witches melt. (Evilly sniggering behind the phone)

My most notable post, and the one this blog reblogged multiple times that brought our paths across each other, was a "do you love the color of the sky" post, but I made it extra long. Like, several times as long as the original. It was evil, I know. It was for April Fools. The blog I'm looking for reblogged it from me en masses, a good 20-40 times in a row. That's what made me take notice of them. Most of the time I just reblogged posts, but that one was a special occasion. I also had a bunch of back and forth posts with a different mutual, tagged #homeskillet, which might be unique enough to be of use? Oh, and one of my most popular posts was a Awsten from the band Waterparks that I edited to have transparent hair so it would change color with your blog theme (made that for a friend). Maybe that would help? The blog I'm looking for never reblogged that post, but it still might be worth something?

My old blog used to be ftinally (currently on anon because my new url is extremely similar, but I've had too many bad experiences with sending asks off anon and then getting a bunch of hateful asks in response that I'm wary of attaching my url to asks).

The title of my blog was "don't write yourself off yet", like the Jimmy Eat World song. It was only deleted around September/October, so the trail isn't too cold yet. Hopefully some of that information is useful? Thank you so much for looking into this!

finally... a lead. first thing was first, i saw the mention of "do you love the color of the sky" and jumped for joy. see, i'm very close with Madame Curator, @hellsite-hall-of-fame. and dare i say she is the Queen of the Sky. i went to her and asked for any extra long color of the sky posts, to which she sent me two different variants. however, neither of these were gettin' me where i needed to go. luckily, i was provided a blog name i could track! doin' quite a bit of diggin' i managed to stumble across the aformentioned Awsten post. now, i know that i was told that the missing person hadn't reblogged this one, but at least i could confirm this was what i was lookin' for.

so, i went down to my ol' pal, Google, to see if they knew anything about "tumblr ftinally." and they handed me a whole laundry list of links. it was time to meticulously check every single one of these. i was hopin' to stumble across the color of the sky image that my client had mentioned. unfortunately, i wasn't findin' the color of the sky post. however, i went back to the Awsten post and thought i might be able to use that as a lead. problem was, that wasn't gonna do me much good. usin' the Wayback Machine and searchin' for the blog's address also wasn't doin' me much good, and i was gettin' worried this was gonna be a dead end.

i hate to do this again, but is it possible you have any defining characteristics of that color of the sky post you made? any accompanying text, tags you may have used, or even original image files and could reverse image search? and of course, feel free to message me this information in private if it's too personal to share in an ask, or not mention it at all if you're not comfortable!

additionally, when you say "red blog" do you mean the blog had a red theme, or the blue eye was on a red background in the actual image? that also may help to narrow the search!

Post Case: Under Investigation

Hello good folks. A (lengthy) update from me:

It does not take a genius to recognize that I have not been super active on this website. Almost no original posts, and mainly reblogs from my girl @wilsonbrothersupdates (love u bestie I log on just to chat with you)

I’ll be transparent. The Owen phase is dwindling. Not sure if the Loki show is gonna revive that, I will be watching for him and for him only (I am done with the MCU if I’m honest. That’s a discussion for another day but I’m here for Owen and Owen alone).

I am not deleting this blog. Like with many things, the phase may return full force, it may not. But I have so many positive memories associated with this community, this blog, and the people within it that I can’t get rid of it. But I think it’s fair for me to acknowledge that I’m distancing away from it.

I feel like I knew the end was coming, but it came without me noticing, and I’ve embraced that. Things happen. I watched my beloved Deadly Seven Owen Mutuals change their themes and their blogs to better represent their current interests. I could never do the same because this blog is solely for Owen, but it definitely reflects on my main account.

I will still forever be a fan of Owen. I’ll forever be a fan of Luke. I’ll forever cherish the crazy shit this blog brought me, from misinformation campaigns to inside jokes about the damn hole (seriously, what even was that? Makes me laugh even now)

If anything, I leave this blog up as an archive. Notoriously I am bad at tagging, but certain things on here can be found under tags like “hall of fame” and “thanks for sending!” as well as the usual thirst.

I’m not fully abandoning it. But I am acknowledging that I have pretty much closed up this chapter of my life. I’ll continue to reblog and post if something truly amazing happens, maybe the crew all comes together for inevitable Lokius (I am delusional. I still believe there is a chance.). I will also return if Hiddlewow reunites post strike. (Please give actors your support! Support SAG-AFTRA!!!)

I am not the same person I was when I started this blog over two years ago (Yes, it’s been that long). I’ve found joy in other aspects of my life, and I realize that there’s more to my own happiness than a 53 year old man with a funky nose.

This will forever be a part of me, for better or for worse, and I’m not forgetting the fun things that happened during the peak of this era. It’s tough for me to write this, to acknowledge that I haven’t been a very good leader of the Owen Wilson Appreciation Club. And while I refuse to give up that title, I will admit it’s been slow on my end.

I hope you all continue to watch Owen’s work, to support him in whatever fashion. I know I certainly will be. And while we won’t be as insane as before, there will always be that little part that keeps me here.

So yeah. If I stop posting, if I stop reblogging, know I’m okay. Know I’m happy and have found peace somewhere else. Know I love you all so much, and appreciate all the joy I’ve gotten over the years. The support has been immense, the interactions hilarious and memorable. I’ve met some incredible people on here (my discord people, you have my heart forever) I’ll leave the ask box open. I don’t expect anything to come in, but it’s there if you ever need to talk. Same with my DM’s.

hello! this is admin flora and fauna of daze krp. we were not going to say anything in hopes of this all just going away, however, due to the anons hall of fame seems to be receiving as well as the anons on this blog, we see it fit that we clear some things up.

1st off, we never received hate in or inbox, nor did we ever claim to receive hate. all that we said was that we received strange anon messages that seemed a little passive aggressive. every anon on our page that we received has been posted (minus one asking for a carrd tutorial). it made both admin fauna and i heavily discouraged from opening because of what was happening. we never wished any ill-will towards the hall of fame admins, and all of the theorizing on this blog is getting to a point where it is ridiculous. we are not victims, and we were not bullied by them in any way shape or form. we were just discouraged due to the constant anons comparing our rps to different rps.

we do not want to start anything with any rps or anyone. we just wanted to create a new, inviting, and welcoming roleplay with a fun idea. however, it did not seem to gain much interest, and with the strange anons, we simply decided not to open. once hall of fame posted their ask about why they blocked us, admin flora decided to message them privately and try to communicate. this was the message.

which they then responded to on november 11th which is found in their submission. no further communication was put forth mainly because admin flora sent that message through a tumblr account she does not use (due to being blocked on her personal).however, seeing the continuous anons on this blog theorizing what happened is getting to be a bit much. although we wish things were handled differently, they were not, and everything ended up here. we do not wish for any continued hate, and we would just prefer to put this behind us.

2nd, and lastly, both admin fauna and i were at their roleplay. however, we were there for technically only one day (active) and immediately went inactive due to being busy. after that, it had been a month after when our rp had launched. therefore, we did not come up with the idea for the roleplay as we were inside of it. however, as the hof admins have stated, due to previous copies of their rps, it can cause some speculation. however, our rp was completely based on i-land, along with an entertainment company theme to keep it going once the show had finished. therefore, along with being on a completely different platform, we believed it to be different and did not even once think of hall of fame while forming our rp. although that is hard to prove, there are screenshots of us talking about the rp idea.

the following is a voice note from admin flora explaining the early idea of the rp, which we will obviously not be sharing, but we decided to transcript and write out the entire message which is found below:

“okay. i got too excited, but i’m in the car right now, so i’m gonna kind of explain my idea and what i see for it. so basically, i was thinking, so i-land — i’ll explain what i-land is once i kinda get through my idea. so, my idea is having a newly established— so the premise of the rp would be a newly established entertainment company. it’s a new, shiny thing, and to get people to work there— aka kpop idols— um, they start this reality tv show, which would be based off i-land, and it would start with— i’m going to say 20 [members] for an example. so, it starts off with 20 members, and at the end, so we can have a fair thing, 2 groups will debut. one girl group, and one boy group of 5 members each. ten people aren’t going to debut, right? and so basically how i-land works, like, instead of getting a popularity vote, like how boys planet works, that they don’t get to debut if people don’t like them, in i-land, the members vote each other off in part one. so, the people in the show vote the other members off, but they don’t go home. so, in part one, there’s 2 buildings. the main one with all the good stuff is called i-land, while the other one that’s busted is called the ground. after the members in i-land perform— cause there can only be 12 members there at a time and there’s 23 participants in the show— members in i-land will vote each other off after a performance to the ground. so, if out of 12 members, 4 members were voted off, that then gives a chance for 4 members in the ground to replace them. and that’s how it goes for the first part of the show which is what the rp would be based off of. there is a second part… but… we’re not doing that. so, anyway, this would go on for like 8-10 weeks. after that, we would do a random draw to see who debuts. there’s no point system, so there would just be random events and a random draw to see who debuts. if you do not debut, because we are including an entertainment company, they can be other things! they can be a trainee, debut as a soloist, debut as an actor, become a model, or even work as a staff member. the show would be the main.. premise (?) of the rp, and it would place the members of the rp at a certain place. so yeah, that’s my idea. i dont know if i explained it good but just let me know.”

this voice note was sent before the rp opened, but pretty much when the idea was set in admin flora’s mind. there is not much more we can offer, but we do hope that all hate to hall of fame and any side in general stops. we hope this cleared things up!

at the end of the day, we wish no ill-will towards the admins of all of fame. they have always been great and active admins with long-standing communities. we did not decide to not open our directory because of them, but it was because of the baseless rumors and strange asks we were receiving (which we mentioned). as the hall of fame admins have stated, as admins, it’s hard enough to run an rp these days. we do not wish to continue any baseless hate or any hate towards them and wish them all the best. this was just a matter of miscommunication, however, please do not just assume and run with theories made on gossip blogs! it is very damaging to the community, and we wish to just put this behind us. we will not be acknowledging any further asks about hall of fame or our rp in any setting, and we hope that everything is now settled. thank you.

Breathing out nervously, I messed with the bangles adorned on my wrist, feeling multiple people fiddle with the veil on my head.

“You feeling alright babes?” I heard Lizzie my friend and maid of honour ask me, as she took a brush and started touching up my makeup.

“Yup, just extremely nervous” I said bluntly, scared that if I talked even more I would vomit.

“Please, you have nothin to worry about hunny bun, that man is whipped for you” She said standing back giving me an 'are you serious' look, causing a laugh to find its way out.

“You’re right you’re right, have you heard anything from Chris' part of the wedding party?”

“Last thing I heard was that last night at his bachelor party, he was the one having to help everyone home because he was the only one who stayed sober” Lizzie said laughing, imagining Chris having to juggle all the drunk men at once going home from the comedy bar.

“Of course he did” I said, smiling to myself at his caring nature.

“You got a good one babes, don’t ever let him go. Now we’re gonna go make sure everything else is set up, let you have a moment to yourself to calm down”

Watching as my mother, friends and mother in law left, I smiled thinking about the fact that my wedding day was finally here.

Chris and I did not have an easy journey to say the least. Having to keep our relationship private for the most part due to his fame, then when we did go public we were criticised because the public thought he could easily find someone better closer to his age.

Reminiscing on some of our favourite memories, a smile etched itself onto my lips.

( When You First Met)

Walking into my friend Lizzie's birthday party, I sort of felt out of place. This hotel venue was riddled with celebrities, people I would never have imagined myself having connections to. Standing in my black satin dress and black heels, I was looking around for Liz when I felt her run into me.

“Y/N YOU MADE IT!” She said excitedly, hugging me tightly, instantly putting me at ease.

“Of course, I wouldn’t miss your birthday girl” I said laughing at her childlike expression.

“Come on there’s some people I want you to meet” She said dragging me to one of the tables near the front of the hall, immediately I recognised multiple faces such as Robert Downey Jr etc.

“Guys this is the Y/n I was talking to you about!” Lizzie said sitting me down in one of the free seats beside Scarlett Johansson.

“H-hi” I managed to squeak out, as they all gave me such warm inviting smiles.

“So Y/n, Liz tells us you work as a virologist?”

Robert asked curiously leaning forward.

“Oh yes, yes I do, I’m currently working on the Covid unit” I said starting to feel more comfortable, talking about my job always put me at ease as it was something I was always comfortable mentioning.

Before I knew it, Robert had bombarded me with questions regarding the work on the vaccine and the new strains.

Seeing my glass was now empty, I excused myself from the now lively table, heading over to the tables of wine dispensers.

“Robert wore you out huh?” I heard a deep Boston voice ask from beside me, causing me to jump a little, wine spilling onto the front of my dress.

“Aw sh*t sorry I didn’t mean to scare you” They rushed out, looking up I saw a pair of deep blue eyes accompanied with a warm smile.

“O-oh no it’s fine honestly, the dress is black anyway”

“I’m Chris, Chris Evans” He said holding out one hand, shaking it I replied “I know who you are Chris, i’m Y/n L/n” Laughing at his introduction.

“I know but what’s a gentleman without a proper introduction” He said smirking at me, bringing his glass up to his lips and downing the last bit of his drink.

“So how old are you if you don’t mind me askin'” He said from the side, passing me his glass to also fill up.

“I’ve just turned 27, you?” I said filling up my glass first.

“Sh*t, i’m 40”

“What’s wrong with that?”

“You don’t think i’m too old?”

“No I certainly do not” I said laughing a little bit, struggling to fill up his glass due to the dispenser being a bit stiff.

“Here let me help” He said standing behind me, his chest against my back, his hand on top of mine as he showed me how to work the dispenser when it gets stiff.

“Thanks, Chris” I said smiling up at him.

“Say, can I get your number beautiful?”

(The First Morning after you do it 😉, this is 3 months after you meet)

“It’s time to wake up, pretty girl” I heard Chris say from beside me, laying on my stomach I just nuzzled my head deeper into the pillow. One of his arms rubbing up and down my naked back soothingly, while he placed loving kisses on any place that was exposed to him.

“I’m too tired” I groaned out, moving closer towards him, wrapping myself around him like a koala.

Feeling his chest vibrate underneath me, I felt myself being lifted so I was now laying fully on top of him, with him looking at me lovingly from beneath.

“You’re so goddamn beautiful Y/n” He breathed out, tucking a bit of my hair behind my ear.

“Stop making me so flustered this early” I said smiling widely, placing my head back down on his chest, his hands going to play with my hair.

“Wanna take a shower? Then afterwards we can have a lazy day, Yeah?” He proposed.

“Yeah that sounds good, you’re starting to stink anyway” I said jokingly, walking naked towards the bathroom, picking up one of his tshirts and clean boxers to wear afterwards.

“Hey! I do not stink thank you very much” I heard him shout after me, his footsteps following mine into the large bathroom.

Turning on the shower, I held my hand out feeling the temperature when I felt him slap my ass out of nowhere.

“What was that for huh?”

“It was calling out to me babe, I had to” He said defensively putting his hands up, smiling at me. Walking into the big shower case, I pulled him towards me under the running water. Hugging him under the shower, he asked

“Are you okay bub?”

“Yeah, I’m just savouring this moment with you” I said looking up at him, feeling his eyes search my face. His hands cupped my cheeks, his lips lingering over mine before kissing me softly.

“Want me to wash your hair?” He asked after we pulled away, I nodded at him watching as he pulled out my shampoo bottle which stayed beside his.

( First Major Argument- 9 months in)

“Where on Earth have you been Y/n?” Was the first thing I heard, walking into Chris and I's newly bought home together. It was safe to say our relationship was moving fast, but I was not mad about it.

“Look bub, I’m really tired right now, can we talk about this later?” I said slipping my shoes off, the rain from outside now seeping into my skin.

“Did you seriously walk home? Didn’t I tell you to call me when you were done so I could pick you up?”

“Please Chris, stop with the nagging, i’m too tired” I said looking at him blankly as he stood in front of me, his arms crossed in front of his chest clearly upset.

“I’m not nagging Y/n, i’m simply being a good boyfriend and worrying about you”

“Yes I get that but please not right now, today was hard enough” I said just wanting to take a hot shower and get into bed.

“Yeah fine whatever” He said huffing walking off to God knows where, leaving me to walk up the steps with Dodger hot on my trail.

Relieving myself of my clothes, I had a steaming hot shower. Leaving the bathroom I walked into the bedroom, seeing Chris sitting on the edge of my bed sitting by my laid out clothes.

“Look Chris if you’re going to start again, i’m really not in the mood” I said ridding myself of the robe, reaching to pick up my lotion bottle when he picked it up before me.

Squirting some onto his hand, he picked up my leg resting it on his thigh, forcing me to sit down beside him.

“Look I know you had a hard day babe, I was just worried about you. I want you to call me to pick you up, okay? I want you to depend on me. I refuse to go to bed having us upset at each other, so i’m explaining myself okay?” Chris said smothering the lotion up and down my legs.

“Yeah I guess it was immature of me to start accusing you of nagging me babe, it was just a really tough day today” I explained, switching over to the other leg. He smiled at me knowingly, we didn’t even have to talk to know we understood each other now.

That was one of the best things about Chris, we never went to bed mad at each other.

(Back To Present Day)

“Y/n we’re ready for you, future Mrs Evans” I heard Lizzie exclaim in a teasing voice outside the door.

“Coming!” I said, now feeling more ready than ever. Looking at myself in the mirror, I had never felt more beautiful and confident.

(This Is the Dress)

Walking to outside the chapel doors, I smiled at my dad who was going to walk me down the aisle.

“My little girl is all grown up” He said, his eyes starting to get glossy, making me start to tear up also.

Before I could reply, I heard the organ start to play and the chapel doors stood wide open.

Those same blue eyes accompanied with a warm smile, waiting for me by the altar.

tumblr etiquette 101

a list that is nowhere near exhaustive, from yours truly.

First off, welcome! Whether you’re a twitter veteran looking for anything but whatever twitter is, or a new user just done signing up, glad to see you in our ranks beloveds! Welcome home. Refer to this quick tour to make sure your fandom experience (or tumblr experience in general) is a positive one!

Disclaimer: I know it’s long, but please try to read or skim through til the end if you’re new here! This is by no means meant to be a rule book (for the most part lol), only a guide to help you get settled easier!

1) Your blog

This is where people will see and interact with you, so put some effort into it!

Try to choose a name (url) that’s simple. You can see it as your brand, it’s how people will perceive you and remember you. If you’d like to interact with other users here (and not use the site just for the content) it’s better to have something short and sweet, preferably without spaces. (Of course, these are only suggestions.) Rest assured, you can change it literally any time you want.

Have a theme. Utilize the tool that lets you edit your blog’s color or the font of your bio! You can make it match your profile picture, or your blog if it has a theme of its own. Make it feel homey :]

Fill in your bio. People will be checking out your profile probably more often than you think. Don’t leave it empty! Put in any information you’re comfortable with sharing and isn’t too personal (like your age if you’re a minor, or other TMI that can be found on other people’s carrds). It’s always better to add a name/nickname people can use to refer to you by, but feel free to use your blog description to shitpost still.

You can have an intro post. More often than not, you’ll see a blog have a pinned post, a post permanently appearing at the top of a blog until you pin another post or unpin it. You can make one of those, if you’d like to introduce yourself in more length, link any other socials or a carrd, and show others visiting your blog how you tag things so it’ll be easy for them to navigate. Not an obligation.

Keep your anonymity and your safety. It should go without saying, but there’s no harm in repeating it just in case. Your comfort, privacy and safety has the utmost importance. Don’t share any information you don’t want to. Don’t share your age if you’re a minor, or any other incredibly personal info. I’d encourage you to go by a nickname that’s not your real name, (blog name, your brand, remember?) since there’s safety in anonymity, and that’s lowkey one of the big deals of tumblr, but that’s up to you still.

Choose what you want to be visible. Your liked posts and who you follow are all things you can set to keep to yourself and hide from the publics eye, how handy! You should go through all the setting while you’re at it, set it to your comfort.

Side blogs are a thing. You can have multiple blogs that you can use for different things (see: different fandoms, art blog, etc) to keep them organized or away from your followers. Just remember that the replies and off-anon asks you send will be from your main blog, as well as where you follow other blogs from.

2) Interacting with others

You’ve set up your account, now comes the fun part!

Follow to your heart’s desire. If you care about others seeing who you follow, fear not! In tumblr, usually only two types of blogs keep their following visible to others: newbies, and big blogs using it to point people on other good blogs’ direction. Just turn it off, and go ham following people.

Customize your dashboard. Gonna mention just two things here: this is another reason why it’s really important that you follow blogs without sparing, your dash will collect dust otherwise; and you should turn off “best stuff first” in your dashboard settings, to have a better community here and all.

Follow tags. You can set it in your settings that posts with your followed tags appear on your dashboard.

You can check the og post for edits and context. When you see a reblogged post you don’t understand the context of (or don’t recognize the character in case of fanarts), click on the profile so it will take you to the original post. From there you can check the original poster’s tags to get the context, or see if there have been any edits made to the post, since when you edit a post it doesn’t update any past reblogs.

Send people asks... This is how you make mutuals, people! Do it off-anon if you’d like them to know your blog, or anon if you’d rather not! (You can still end your messages with a signature to show you’re the same person, -[name] is one example.) Send them nice messages, ask their opinion on something, discuss things, or just straight up shitpost lol. Go wild. The sky’s your limit and it’s definitely more than 280 characters.

...and let them ask you! You can set your preference in the settings, do it on desktop tumblr to access more settings tho! What you can customize on mobile is limited (like letting people ask you things anonymously, that’s only on desktop settings). In my personal opinion, it’s always better to tag their username (or a nickname you give them, if they’re a friend) on that post, since you wouldn’t want your interactions with your friends to get buried in your blog forever.

Comment on posts. If you have something to say but don’t want the post to appear on your blog you can add a comment. The owner of the post will get a notif for it, but for anyone else you need to tag them.

For the love of god, reblog. People will only see your liked posts if you have it visible to public and they specifically go on your blog to look at them. You like something? You reblog. It’s already hard for posts to circulate properly, if you don’t reblog them literally no one will see them. If not for anything do it for the artists. Just hold and drag on mobile to fast rb.

3) Your Posts

Finally here! Don’t be a lurker, post and engage!

Make use of “read more”. If your post is long, add it. That’s what you clicked on earlier to expand this post. On desktop leave an empty line and you’ll see three dots appear, and on mobile type :readmore: on that empty line.

Draft a post to come back to it later. Pretty self explanatory.

Queue your post. Whether it’s your own post or you’re reblogging, make use of the queue feature to a) not spam reblog and fill up the dashboard of people following you and b) keep your blog active while you’re gone. Mess around in the settings, it’s fairly easy to set up.

Schedule your post. Same as queueing, the only difference is you get to choose the exact time your post will go up. Handy if you want to schedule a post for certain dates like april fools, or 5 years in the future for some reason. 

Format your texts. You can do all kinds of fancy stuff here (that’s a link, try pressing on it). Twitter doesn’t have this, make use of it. Changes depending on whether you’re on mobile or desktop. (Desktop has less features.)

Check your stats. If you’re trying to understand the algorithm better or want to look at some pretty graphs you can get your data on that on desktop tumblr.

@ people in comments. You’ll get all the notifs when people comment on your posts but they won’t see your reply unless you tag them in your message.

4) Tags, and tagging a post

This is where my earlier statement “this isn’t a rule book” stops being applicable. It’s not a war crime to go against these, I won’t come chasing you (don’t take my word for this) but you’ll work up a bad rep. Just saying lol.

Do NOT crosstag posts. It’s really tempting to add unrelated tags to increase your posts’ interaction, I know, but that’s not what tumblr is about. Don’t be a dick and make other communities’ experience worse for them.

Always tag your posts with “crit/critical/discourse/etc” if it calls for it. There’s no exceptions to it. This is the reason you see people migrating to tumblr. Let people enjoy things.

Don’t main tag a critical/negative post. If your crit post is about “Thing”, you add the “Thing critical” tag, but not the “Thing” tag. People block crit tags if they don’t want to see it, don’t shove it in their faces by main tagging it. 

If you don’t want to see something, just block it. Another reason why people are able to survive on tumblr. You don’t start discourse, you don’t make call-outs, you block. You can find something for every community you can think of if you go looking for it. The worst of the worst probably won’t ever appear on your dash, but if you’re worried or feel the need for it, you know where the block button is.

Feel free to shitpost or ramble. More often than not you’ll see people rb a post with a comment, and their elaboration will be in the tags. The tags are only visible on your profile and the notifications of the owner of the og blog. Just a thing people do.

Reblog artists’ posts with nice comments in the tags! Commenting on a drawing is usually done through the tags (Not an obligation, again, just a thing people do. Feel free to add your comment on the rb itself if you’d want other people to see it tho!) and leave nice messages for the artists! It’s a win-win for everyone involved. 

If you have more than a single follower, always use the common tw warning tags. You don’t need to tw everything, but tw’ing some common things is the bare minimum human decency. Keep it safe for others. 

Tag a post “long post” if it’s really long. Pretty self explanatory. Don’t make people scroll through all that please lol. 

You can use them to organize your blog. This is more of a pro tip, if you’d like to not miss a post in your blog, cause they will start pilin’ up soon enough.

#Liveblogging is pretty fun. If you’d like to talk to people during streams, don’t forget to add the relevant tags still! Again, you won’t show up on people’s dash otherwise.

Sorry if this is a personal question, but is mod metal knux (or I think now mod jenny) still homeless? I remember seeing a post on this blog about that, but that was around the time I stopped using Tumblr so I never got any closure on it. feel free to delete this ask if it's too personal!

This is gonna sound like a made up Tumblr story, but I survived homelessness thanks to extremely generous donations from friends, the Tally Hall community (namely a man named Coz Baldwin who I owe my life to for spreading my donation post to begin with) and a large donation from Andrew Horowitz of Tally Hall fame! It's an insane story, but it was one hell of a way to get out of the most traumatic period of my life.

Homelessness is an impossible situation, and I likely would've lost my life one way or another if it weren't for the generosity of countless people. I'm Way better off now, thank you for you concern <3

“class, we have a new student joining us from now on,” ms maeng announces. she gestures towards someone standing outside the classroom, and the girl emerges and stands next to the teacher’s desk.

“would you like to say a few words of introduction?”

“okay uhm, hi everyone! i’m eunji and i just moved here this weekend. it’s nice to meet all of you!” she says enthusiastically, contrasting to the shy vibes she gave off when she stepped in.

ms maeng gestures for her to take her seat next to me. she walks over to my table, slipping into her seat. “hi,” i greet her with a smile.

“hi!! wow, i love your bag! it’s so pretty,” she tells me as she looks at my bag.

“oh thanks.”

the bell rings. everyone rushes out of the classroom, hoping to get their food before the queues in the cafeteria get long.

just as i was about to leave the classroom, i notice how eunji seemed to be taking her time to pack her bag. “hey, uh, do you have anyone to sit with for break?” i ask her, walking back to our seats.

she shakes her head, clearly embarrassed. “no. people find me annoying and overly enthusiastic.”

“oh, that’s not true. being enthusiastic is a good thing anyway. besides, you’d love my good friend. he’s extremely enthusiastic. you’ll know it once you meet him. so come on,” i pull her up to her feet, rushing to the cafeteria.

i turn around swiftly, making eye contact with a boy in the distance. “oh there he is!” i pull eunji through the crowd of students. we quickly take a seat at the table before another person could push us.

“oh hi!” the boy greets eunji. she just waves, unsure how to react.

dusting off my skirt, i clear my throat. “oh eunji, this is sunoo. sunoo, this is eunji. she’s new here.”

“ooh, welcome! hope you’ve had a good experience so far,” sunoo tells her with a wide smile. “yep!” she nods.

before any of us could say anything else, a couple of students leans against the table. we look around, noticing how the middle space was cleared and the students had all moved to the sides. even the students seated were now standing up.

“oh, you’ve gotta be kidding me,” i roll my eyes.

“what’s going on?” eunji asks me.

“it’s just this boy. he’s so-called the ‘popular’,” i tell her.

“judging by how everyone’s reacting, he must be really popular. what made him so popular even?”

“there was just this stupid dance competition and he participated. he showcased his ‘top-notch dancing’ and ‘stole the hearts of many’,” i explain, unable to stop myself from rolling my eyes. “at least that’s what i heard.”

and at that moment, he emerges. nishimura riki. he was my best friend. before the stupid dance competition. and the ‘top-notch dancing’. and the stealing of hearts. ugh. i used to call him niki, but now i don’t.

why?

because it used to be my nickname for him. me. it was a unique thing that kinda symbolised our friendship. but everyone calls him that now. it doesn’t mean anything anymore.

“did something happen between you two?” eunji suddenly asks, pulling me out of my thoughts.

“what? noooo don’t be ridiculous. i just don’t like guys who gets over their heads because of their fame,” i lie, faking a scoff.

at least it was partially true.

…

okay fine, here’s what happened.

- flashback -

“oh my god, niki, look!” i wave the paper in front of his nose.

“i can’t look if it’s that close to me!” he exclaims, snatching the paper out of my grasp.

“oh oops,” i just shrug.

we remain silent for a couple of moments as he read the contents of the poster. he puts it down, but doesn’t say anything. i had expected him to be more excited. way more excited.

“well? are you gonna take part?”

“uh… i don’t know, y/n… it says “best of best”. i’m not even one of the best,” niki says, placing the paper on the table.

i gasp at his response. “who are you?”

“oh come on,” niki rolls his eyes playfully.

“no, you come on,” i push his shoulder slightly. “when has being the best ever mean anything to you? you dance because you love it, not because you wanna be the best. i mean, sure, that comes along in the process. but that’s not your goal.”

i go on, and on, and on about how he should join the competition, not caring about the exasperated looks he was giving me. when i finally lose my breath, i stop.

“are you done?” niki asks, his eyebrow raised.

“no, but seeing that i’m out of breath, you may speak,” i say as i take a big gulp of water, making a lot of noise in the process.

“look, you made your point. i’ll sign up, but you have to come to watch me perform,” he whispers as if we were carrying out some illegal business.

i place my bottle on the desk, “what’re you whispering for? and obviously i’d come. watching you dance is my therapy.”

niki gives me a look of disgust and amusement. “niki, i’m joking. i don’t need therapy. i’m completely fine.”

it’s finally the competition day. niki has been practicing every day for the past two weeks. and i’ve told him every time that the choreography was perfect. obviously, he still insisted on practicing more. he even made me stay with him. that literally caused me to miss my bedtime like seven times. SEVEN.

YES I CHERISH MY SLEEP IS THAT SUCH A PROBLEM?

moving on…

it’s finally niki’s turn to perform. he walks up to the stage. although he was extremely tall for his age, he looked extremely small from here. he remains calm as he waits for the music to start. and as soon as it does, i could see the change in his expression which could only mean one thing.

he was ready.

i’m not even kidding when i say he rocked the stage. his performance was lit. and i couldn’t stop telling him that. everyone was at the edge of their seats as we waited for the winner to be announced.

“and in first place… NISHIMURA RIKI~”

the place erupts in claps and cheers for niki as he made his way up the stage to receive his trophy. “oh my god, it’s so cool,” i exclaim when niki lets me hold the trophy.

as amazing as it looked, it was really heavy. for a girl at least. and niki seemed to realise i was struggling with it because he immediately grabs hold of the trophy before it could pull me down.

monday came in a flash. and everything changed. the halls grew quiet as niki stepped into the building. before i could make my way to him, he was surrounded by the other students. everyone suddenly wanted to be his friend.

days passed, and i constantly spotted niki surrounded by a big group of students, mainly the other dancers. and i found myself distancing myself from him.

while he gained many friends that week, i lost the only friend i had.

anyway, that was when sunoo came into the picture. we were assigned partners for a geography project, and that allowed us to get to know each other better and we eventually became good friends.
