i said i might do more in depth thoughts of stephanie and so i did.
the first post was a bit rushed but many of the points very much still stand, this post i guess is just trying to make the same points a bit better and deeper. so idk how much of a musical analysis this is, and how much i'm just trying to put vibes and feelings into words, but here goes.
i said in the first post how i like that the structure isn't the usual verse chorus verse chorus - well, actually it kind of is that, but the chorus doesn't feel like an obvious chorus, because they only play it twice and it's not the same those times. there is almost a pre-chorus like feeling to it, and then the song ends in what could have been a bridge, if the song was longer. this song to me feels like a part of something bigger, and that's why i'm super excited to hear in the context of the full album. with that being said, i still think it works super well on its own as well, i really love the vibes.
the early 2000's brit rock and indie rock influence, such as arctic monkeys or black kids, is still quite obvious to me, but so is the 80's influence as well, like orchestral manoeuvers in the dark was the first one that came to my mind. then again, the 80's influence on early 2000's brit rock and indie rock in general is also pretty obvious, so i think influences in music in general should always be seen as a spectrum, rather than fixed, separate points. everything is always influenced by things that came before it, and what we can name as an influence on something will always depend on where we've heard a specific style or flavour or spice in music first.
it's a different sound than what we've heard from them before. i don't know if this makes any sense to anyone other than myself, but to me, the sound on this song is the sound of a collective more than the sound of the band. what i mean by that is that there are so many elements in the song that are not straight forward band instruments, or instruments that are in their usual line up. this sound is produced by five professinal musicians working as a collective, rather than five band members playing their respective instruments simultaniously. does that make any sense? i don't know, but it's how i feel - like there could be more people on this song than there are. but i think the best songs always do sound like all of the people who made it, not just one or two.
like i said in my first post, the drums are super interesting in this one. the drum machineness of it all, the super 80's style drum fills, the percussive details of little pings and pangs that decorate the track, that's all something that hasn't been super typical in pop or rock music recently, and harkens back to the 70's, 80's and also the early 2000's indie scene. it's super interesting to listen to, and i can genuenly recommend taking the time to listen to the track a couple of times focusing on just the drums and percussion.
in fact, i'd recommend listening to the track (this track and honestly just songs in general) several times, always choosing a different instrument or element to focus on, because there is a lot of cool stuff going on in this song! vocals and lyrics often take the main focus, but i always find it worth it to carefully listen beyond the lyrics.
the drum parts are also just genuenly fun. the drums and the bass make it a very dancable song, which again, it's both very 80's and very early 2000's to make super bop-y, dancable songs with sad or dark lyrics. the contrast is quite yummy to me. it also brings a vibe to the song i really really love. it reminds me of a quote about movies, about how drama movies should always have a little bit of comedy in them, because that's how real life is. there is always always both light and dark, sadness and happiness present in everything. crying and laughing all at once. that's the vibe of the song to me, and it's brilliant.
the song has so many layers to it, it's honestly brilliantly mixed: there's something happening in almost every direction, every distance, so to speak. and so many different synth sounds! sharp strikes here, notes held there, runs here, backround walls there. take a moment to find them all, it's super rewarding and again, genuenly fun!
the vocal delivery is also a cool contrast with the musical aspects. the voice doesn't convey a lot of emotion, on purpose i think. he sounds a bit numb and detached, and the music being so whimsical with all of its details and decorations, it's just a really cool juxtaposition.
and at the end, repeating the lines about love and happiness not being built for people like me, with the guitar playing the same melody, when the vocal line and the guitar line go out of sync and he starts repeating the lines to a different rythm, i think it highlights the juxtaposition even more, it's like.. it's like he's not even listening to the whimsy of the music anymore, but getting carried away in his own head by the lines. and repeating them in an almost monotoe way.. i just think it's a brilliant way to deliver the emotion behind the lyric.
but the song ends in the major key whimsical runs on the keyboard with a very fun percussion rythm, and so i think ultimately the mood left behind by the song is quite positive. it's melancholic sure, a bit angsty yes, but at the same time it's not a depressing feeling.
like i don't know how else to put it, but the whole song is like. everything is going to shit in your life, but you're on a walk and the leaves are super pretty colours and the weather is just perfect, and you breathe in fresh air and it's like. yeah everything is kinda fucked but right in this moment, right at this minute, it's all kind of.. okay. and for a split second you can imagine a future where things are less shit. where maybe happiness and love are built for people like you.

first date places
dabi
the roofs. he loves watching sky at any given time actually, he especially loves stargazing. when he was a kid, he had a telescope and about a hundred books about space, so til this day he's very invested. and another funny thing about him is that he still has that 'dude who was born rich' mentality, despite the fact that he lived on the streets for literally a decade. he wants everything to look like he hasn't tried (and he doesn't want to try) and he wants it to be literally perfect at the same time. so he goes for an obvious solution, being bringing you to watch stars together. it might be difficult to do in a such large city, but he knows places, and he knows a lot of them. he wants to show you the night city in all it's glory as well. he's a bit sentimental, so he shares a lot of stories of a particular places in which he lived - nothing in detail, just to entertain you. despite all his aloof demeanor, he's really proud of himself that he succeeded in impressing you. and if you're truly interested in astronomy as much as he is, then it's over for you, his nerdy ass won't shut up. it has it's pros: it's simply unfair how adorable he looks while telling you everything he knows about stars.
shigaraki
it's his bar for this very special occasion. he's very nervious and the fact that he already left his room is some heroic (pun unintended) shit for him. he needs somewhat comforting surroundings to collect himself better. i believe he's also a romantic at heart, so with help of the lov he'll decorate his place, so it'll be something really nice, not some messy area they usually live in. there will be music (in general he hates music, but he'll tolerate it just this once, because a, it's toga who plays guitar, b, it's for a mission (date)), there will be candles (he went through some real shit trying to steal scented ones and they smell bad anyway for his taste, and even yours), there will be an attempt at decent dinner (please don't eat it, your stomach will probably die). and however awkward it might look, with lov lurking in the background cheering you voth on, those awfully scented candles, somewhat nice music and tomura standing right in the middle of the chaos of this all, it still feels...genuinely nice? such a warm, fuzzy feeling, that you are so welcomed here. he really went out of his way to do this all for you.
hawks
congrats on pulling the hottest bitch in town, now good luck actually catching him for a date. the thing is, he's a second for a reason, he's booked and busy, going on missions saving people and so. the most foolproof plan here is to bring him on a date in his own apartment. it's difficult even like that, bc frankly, he's rarely there. he never had any desire to return here, tbh. it doesn't even look like someone lives in here, more like a hotel room, which is also pretty empty and dark. there's little to no furniture, some bed to sleep on, a couch, a table and a TV. very sad. so it's on you to make it cozier and it doesn't have to be much, not at all. he doesn't like fancy things in general, he just doesn't care. whatever you want to make with his place is fine by him. and he's not romantic at all actually, but he appreciates the effort you make to simply spend some time with him. it's a big deal for him, that someone is willing to spend their time not only to tidy up his place and all, but to actually do it for a date which is the direct invitation to spend more time with him. which means, someone really, really wants to spend this exact time with him. wild, don't you think? and this scene where you lit up all the candles you've brought and then sit right next to him, pulling a blanket over you both and asking which movie he chose in the end - that makes it for him.

CHRISTMAS MOVIES
Now as much as I rip and hate on chrismas at times, I need to admit there is not a better feeling than experiencing a childlike wonder again. Seeing beautiful hand crafted clock work decor and extraordinary snow globes, or seeing those mechanical trains youd see in the movies, nothing beats the feeling like that.
I'ma talk about the movie Klaus. A personal favorite of mine, not just for chrismas.
Klaus was released on Netflix about four years ago (I feel old)
I love this movie. It breaks the Christmas movie stereotype and it does it well. I love it from animation, to story, to duologue to characters, it's amazing.
So to start off, let's start with animation and style.
Uhm.
I can't explain it just look
youtube
Stupid thumbnail. But yeah. Watch it. Beautiful.
Story!
The story is beautiful.
It starts, with a letter. Just a letter.
And a man.
The plot starts with Jesper, the snotty son of the owner of a huge postal company. Jesper is failing postal school, before being told to be a post man in a town in a island called Smeerinsberg, and have 6000 letters done in one year.
Smeerinsberg is a violent town, a large feud between two family's that go back generations living there.
Jesper has a hard time getting letters at all. Until that is a small child drops his drawing out the window and towards Jesper. Remember this. Jesper tries to get the child to mail the letter, before he is attacked by the child's father's dogs. Before this he meets a character named Ava, who was a attempted teacher
Weeks pass by, and he finds out about the old woodsman cabin, and desides to go there, finding many hand crafted toys.
The woodsman comes home, holding his large axe, and scaring jesper. Jesper flees, dropping the drawing from the child.
Things happen, and the woodsman, Klaus, tells jesper to bring him to the home of that child to deliver a present. Jesper does so (unwillingly) and nearly dying.
The next day, jesper wakes up to a few children saying they have letters for Klaus. Montage of Jesper bribing kids for toys lmao.
Jesper then goes back to klaus's home, pleadunf to be able to take the toys to the kids and shiz. Klaus agrees, and they'll do it at the dead of night.
Word gets around about Klaus, no one knowing it's actually jesper that's going into the homes lol.
One day he's getting letters, and meets a little girl named Márgu, who is Sámi, and Jesper cant understand her. He also learns some of the children can't write and read, so he sends them to Ava's school.
He also remeets a kid who told him to go home earlier in the movie, who he gave coal, and ends up making a thing called the Naughty list, sorta as a explanation.
Children all over town start doing good deeds, and soon after, the adults follow after. The two family's have dwinled, the large fued basically being ignored. The two leaders of the families make a truce to put a end to this peace.
Jesper is then at Klaus's cabin, rambling about his idea called 'Christmas'
After this, Jesper and Klaus get into a argument, and jesper goes home to find Márgu there. Jesper sorta vents, before deciding to try and figure out what Márgu wants. He goes to Ava's school, who helps translate a letter basically
Jesper goes home, and attempts to make what Márgu wanted, even though he doesn't know how to work wood
Klaus comes back, and helps him make Márgu's gift, and they go to deliver it, seeing her excited. They are later back at Klaus's cabin feeding the reindeer, and jesper is obviously happy that he made Márgu happy.
More stuff happens, and after a bit, Márgu's people have come to Klaus's cabin to help. They make him a sleigh, and a outfit similar to theirs, as well as help with toy making.
Though during this, what's left of the two family's finds out about jesper's goal of 6000 letters, and end up 'helping' him.
It's December 24th now, daylight, and suddenly jesper's dad comes to collect him, saying he's done 14000 letters. Klaus, Ava, and the Sámi people feel betrayed, and are mad at him
He goes to leave, but looks extremely sad, sadder than when he came to Smeerinsberg. His dad gives him the look, and he ends up staying.
Márgu went to go find him, trying to stop him. But looks like he missed his ride.
He ends up seeing the mob planning to get rid of the gifts, and trys to intervene, que drama scene with lots of tension, before it was revealed it was all a decoy, and jesper ends up regaining everyone's trust, and they go to deliver the gifts.
Years pass, and word spread, and they had to expand, just as they had hoped. Ava and jesper are in love, and jesper gets a mustache at one point (in which Klaus remarks 'what is on your face')
But suddenly, by the 12th year, Klaus's time has finally come, and he goes to join his wife. To anyone other than the viewer though, he seems to have just.m disappeared.
We cut to later, in a Christmas eve with jesper's kids. Him and Ava tuck them into bed, and Jesper goes down, to stay up for the night, the movie ending with the line 'but once a year, I get to see my friend'
Truly a beautiful movie.
I can't express how much I love this movie, and I can't even explain how good it is.
It's a 20/10, go check it out

General Skin-Taker headcanons !
- he can fit his entire body into his hat .
- he has a passion for baking , even though he cannot physically eat them . The most common little pastries he makes are muffins and cinnamon rolls . He feeds them to his pet cat or the Rubberfishes .
- he and Janice wear outfits that parallel each other throughout the show
- at the start of the series he wears more cartoonish / exaggerated clothing ( like a typical cartoon villain ) but somewhere in the middle and end of the series he wears more formal / clothing that is similar to the time era Janice lives in . It's a way of telling her that he's close to her home world and will get her and Melrose so he can sew their skins onto his cape . Meanwhile Janice will have breakdowns on what is reality and what isn't . It's his way of messing with her , but with STYLE 😼
- he wears zoot suits sometimes
- Skin-Taker as a classical / symphony music fan is great but hear me out . he also is an avid enjoyer of blues / jazz music with a hint of gospel into it . The type of gospel music that's usually sad and used to portray sad emotions about death usually played in funerals .
- this one was taken from @emerson-grimes-apologist , he has long Spidey leg fingers , like the other mother from Coraline . He even prepares his sewing just like her at the start of the movie .
- he has a collection of eyeballs that he just likes to swap around with his own eyes , free eye contacts basically .
- Mrs . Skin-Taker isn't her own person , she's more of a different alias / dragsona to Skin-Taker . Like he sometimes pulls it out for disguise like Bugs bunny style and fails miserably at it for comedic effect, but he also uses it just for the fun of it . ( I was thinking that she can be her own separate person in an au but idk )
- he views the Rubberfishes as a parallel to the Tarantula crew , he can see the similarities to them so clearly that he breaks down sometimes over it .
- yea a few scenes involving him will have him just stare at the camera while someone's talking to him or when he's witnessing a memory flashback . He just stares at the screen for a few seconds standing still until he gains consciousness again . It's never discussed by him or the crew and it's brushed off as nothing .
- he sometimes flicks his ribs up and down like what people do with combs just for the fun of it .
- he has a little chest full of trinkets , most of it are shells and crystals like a Rose quartz for example , which is commonly used to mourn the death of a loved one .
- idk if I said this before but he has a bunch of taxidermy in a room right next to the room of ceramic cats . Both human and animal .
- imma say it again but he prefers using body language than speaking , he uses gentle glances and whatnot
- in one certain scene in an episode he and Horace have manipulated Poppy into thinking he'd murdered his own crew . Shit goes on from there and the episode was never mentioned again .
Slight mention of PTSD warning :
- he is terrified of Red Mary , he has really awful memories of her and would scream at the slightest mention of her .
- surprisingly , when he joined alliances with Horace , the Rubberfishes started getting better and living in better conditions . Even black teeth has developed better cooking skills due to Skin-Taker teaching him .
- he takes his fashion skills very seriously , like full on MIRANDA style from " The devil wears Prada " . Where he can go on full rants about a crew member wearing clothes that do not match . These skills are first introduced and put to skill in an episode where he took over on decorations and dresses for Sunny's quinceanera .
- I've got so many voice claims for the guy but I'm only settling on either Michael from TMA or Will Wood's "Dr . Sunshine is dead" song . Idk I Invision him as a funky but menacing guy .
- at the back of his cave theres a greenhouse where there are butterflies and exotic plants he's planted . It turned into the Rubberfishes hangout .
- people will suddenly run into the cave and will vandalize it for fun . Like y'know kids throwing eggs and toilet paper at an old man's house for funsies ?
- he's like the scary villain character that has so many random moments where it becomes funny at certain times . He's like Jim Carrey in "The Mask " at certain times or Mike Myers in Cat in the Hat live action .
- he loves poetry and singing .
- he has kidnapped Melrose once when she first went to candle cove but then soon dropped her off on a shore because of how annoying she was .
- he loves admiring himself and his clothing , despite other's negative response to it . He's not egotistical , he just finds beauty in death and he is an embodiment of that in the world of CC . He's got some self love for some apparent reason .
- he's kept some pet tarantulas and spiders and rescues them , it's supposed to be a symbol ( Or whatever it is idk ) to Lillian . Like an Ode or whatever , he started doing this in the middle of the series when he starts gaining flashbacks of his previous crew .

♜ Interior decorating aesthetic (for Daniel)
☹ Response to a leaky faucet or other household problem (for Armand)
♜ Interior decorating aesthetic (for Daniel)
God this one is hard because it raises so many questions for me like- did Daniel live alone at the time he met Louis? Did he have roommates? He spent years in hotels, and then lived with Armand, and did he have any input on the decor when they were living together? Did he even care that much?
We know that he loved Night Island, that the mix of old and new there was gorgeous, that his room had renaissance paintings alongside modern decor. That he loved luxury. And to an extent I think that's still true, that he likes having nice, interesting things around and isn't like and HGTV trends guy lol
But part of me also thinks about Armand's collecting stuff phase and how he literally filled some apartments to the brim with his computers. How Daniel was probably too exhausted to clean up after their messes most of the time. And like how people who have lived in hoarding situations (or just messy spaces in general) come out preferring minimalism, as little clutter as possible on surfaces and few knick knacks.
And I think Daniel would be somewhere in the middle. All vampires have an attachment to the time they were turned, so he's got a retro-eclectic vibe going in his spaces with some 80s inspired pieces. He probably still leaves his shit laying around like his clothes and half-read books but Trinity Gate and Auvergne have cleaning staff to take care of that. For better or worse he grew up in the era of wall to wall carpet and still prefers that over a hardwood floor. And I see him as a physical media kind of guy- he's got a sick vinyl collection, he still gets VHS tapes and DVDs of movies he liked, his media is pretty organized and nicely displayed. Get a nice comfy chair in there and he's set.
His craft space is a fucking wreck though lol But that's okay because he can close that door and pretend that mess doesn't exist when he's not in there.
☹ Response to a leaky faucet or other household problem (for Armand)
Oh lord in DM era it's one of three options:
Demand Daniel go to the hardware store with him so they can experiment with fixing it themselves (Daniel's least favorite option, there's bound to be cussing and at least three trips back to the store even though Armand can afford to buy literally every fucking possible thing needed in one trip)
Call a repair service and pay double for the middle of the night handyman work, while he sits and stares and creeps the guy out with his observation (Daniel's preferred option, he tips the workers extra for dealing with Armand's questions)
Say fuck it and rent a new place to live (inevitable, sometimes, when the DIY option goes very very wrong and they wind up with severe water damage that threatens the safety of the residents below them, oops)
Now at Trinity Gate? Unfortunately I think Benji's the mature adult in that household, he's got task rabbit loaded and ready to hire someone before the problem can get out of control. Because god knows Louis can't maintain a home, and frankly someone's gotta protect the peace and keep Daniel and Armand from bickering all night again about whose fault it is that the dish washer broke ("We don't even use fucking dishes, Armand, what did you put in there??" is NOT when he needs in the background he's trying to record a podcast tyvm)

Losers Hc's
I have so many personal Loser Hc's that just live in my head and I just want to share them. I wanna put them somewhere so I'm putting them here. Some hints of Poly Losers
Ben
He has a peanut allergy, idk why, it's the vibes
Until he met Bev his wardrobe consisted of nerdy t-shirts with awful puns. You know what I'm talking about.
Secretly loves Twilight (him and Richie watch it together)
His favorite drink is lemonade, iykyk
Keeps fish! Like really big aquarium set ups and he actually designs some of the decor. Can't keep any aquarium plants alive tho
Mike
loves the smell of cashmere and just collects candles in general
I've mentioned picnics with him before (the ones he takes with Bev and Eddie) but he also likes to make little finger sandwiches and wears fancy sun hats on said picnics
hates the taste of olives, my man is anti olives
bringing this up again, but he had a stuff tigger as a kid and when he's an adult he keeps it in a shadow box
also he's a bit of a technophobe, he had a flip phone until the Losers literally made him upgrade, it was difficult for group texts
Eddie
red shorts this, red shorts that, consider him wearing overalls! He has a whole collection for every kind of weather and they're adorble
not much of a gamer but went through a really intense minecraft stage, the other losers refused to play with him
he loves traveling. Sonia never allowed him to go anywhere so as an adult he goes everywhere. Constantly taking trips and planning the next place to explore. Also he tries to travel with the Losers if they're going somewhere for work. Richie to L.A., Bill to London, Bev to Italy for fashion shows
secret huge ya novels nerd (don't tell Bill)
he's really into fancy coffee. Has an espresso machine in the kitchen and tries to make little designs in the foam and is constantly watching aesthetic coffee videos
Richie
pretends to like horror movies but is actually baby, he covers his eyes the whole time
He owned a ferret, his name was Todd. Eddie and Stan pretended to hate it but the creature grew on them
allergic to cats, cue the ferret, his skin will break out in hives if he's near one, but he doesn't care. He will pet that cat and the others Losers have to stop him
LOVES Futurama, he has a tattoo of Bender on his ass
Actually enjoys doing yard work. His mind is constantly going but when he's doing yard work, running the weed wacker or the lawn mowers, he can't hear himself think. Or if he's raking leaves or cutting bushes, his mind is too zeroed in on his task. It's strangely therapeutic for him
Bill
constantly has ink on his hands, from drawing or his typewriter, it's always there
had adult braces, IK I've said this before but I'm very passionate about 20 year old something Bill with a full set of braces. Yes I had adult braces too, why do you ask?
Sticks his tongue out when he's really focused on something and gets a wrinkle between his brows
he is dumbest smart person you will ever meet. He is an idiot. Everyone thinks he's supposed to be smart bc he's a best selling author but no, this man will try to pry something open with a knife with his face too close to said knife. He has no self preservation instincts, it's only bc of the Losers he's made it this far
has a weird obsession with Cherry Coke
Bev
again, i've said this before, but Bev always wanted a pet and she can't give the emotional care a cat, dog, rat, ect needs so she keeps reptiles. They're really cool and besides their basic care, they don't need anything else from Bev, they're perfectly content to be watched by her on the other side of the tank
speaking of that, her favorite reptile are geckos and she's actually based a couple her designs on their patterns
went through a phase where all she did was play the Sims. She was obsessed. The losers would go to bed while she was playing and wake up and she was still playing it. Yes this overlapped with Eddie's minecraft phase.
believes in Bigfoot. Like for real.
complete roller coaster fanatic, loves going to amusement parks to ride the most extreme roller coasters

3, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 20, 21, 26, and 30 for Ed please!!
thanks for sending me these asks guys lol it's nice to have something to occupy my gay and stupid time
3. a song that reminds me of him: i realized that i forgot to put DG on my ed playlist and i could kick myself for that.
this song is what i imagine the inside of ed's head sounds like.
and then any primus song.
7. a quote of his that i remember: BRO i'm a fucking child and this one always stands out
also when jimmy is dressed as a bird and falls out of a tree and ed goes "awwww it is twitching.."
8. my favorite outfit of his: ed looks adorable in everything tbh
i always forget that s6 was a thing so i forgot to include his winter outfit on my tier list but it's an easy A. i love his collection of trapper hats lol.
11. what's the first thing i think about when i think of ed: hmm i guess our shared interest in all things grotesque and horror themed. i'm not super into the comics or movies myself, but i think ed would appreciate a good void meme and he'd for sure be a creepy pasta kid. the type of guy to have halloween decorations up all year. and i'm not talkin about kitschy little pumpkins and black cats. he is without hesitation dropping hundreds and more likely thousands of dollars on life size animatronics of regan macneil and the pale man from pan's labyrinth, etc.
12. sexuality hc: i can definitely see ed being aroace, but i also like to pair him with may because it's cute and fun. i don't think gender plays a role in his attraction to anyone. or anything?
14. best story line he had: rock-a-bye ed is kinda dark so i like that one. the day the ed stood still is really fun and funny. and of course little ed blue is a great episode.
20. a weird headcanon: i'm so annoying lol all i do is think and talk about these dorks and when someone asks a question i'm like "uhhhhhhhhhhhh"... idk it's not that weird for ed but i see him being a bit of a conspiracy theorist. like he might end up being a prepper later in life lmfao. ed as a flat earther? ed as a moon landing truther? idk if i'd go that far but it would be funny to see him and edd arguing about those things the same way they did about a chunk of cheese. edd would have to be put on oxygen afterwards.
21. when do i think he was at his happiest: probably in the day the ed stood still... and any time he gets to be around his friends. summer in general is probably the time that he's happiest because he doesn't have to worry about the oppressive institution that is public education.
26. when do i think he was being himself the most: .....the day the ed stood still?? haha. i don't think ed really hides who he is beyond refraining from kidnapping kids and sticking them to his wall with coagulated cereal and saliva most days. that's what makes him great, and different from the other eds. the very first time we meet ed, he's in his basement surrounded by filth, watching movies with a big doofy smile.
that's ed and he's precious.
30. funniest scene he had: it's hard to name an entire/specific scene. i tend to remember little snippets that make me laugh to myself when i think of them. i do get a kick out of the way that in so many scenes edd will be falling to pieces, eddy's getting curb stomped...and you look at ed in the background and without fail he's just standing there like 😀

GET TO KNOW THE MUN!
What's your phone's wallpaper: A fanart piece of Pantalone from Genshin Impact skdjfhsdf it's been there for the past half a year, and it's funny because I used to change my background fairly often before but nowadays I'm just too lazy to change it. So I guess he'll be there until I find something new that I really really like.
Last song you listened to: Idk man, I'm listening to music daily so songs come and go every 4-5 minute skdjhfsf But I guess I could put down the song I'm listening to right now while typing this - "You Are My Sunshine" by Johnny Cash.
Currently reading: Kuroshitsuji. I'm really bad at sitting down and reading books so I usually listen to audio books instead but I love collecting books for some reason skdjfhsdf, but keeping up with the Kuroshitsuji manga is easy since one chapter is released every month, and ngl, I would do the same to other on-going manga series but that would require me to... y'know, sit down and read a lot just to catch up skdjfhsd but I do have Vanitas no Carte in the backburner that I'll eventually get to reading in full. Same goes for the Sailor Moon manga, which I actually own the entire collection of, and I have read at least 3 volumes of it + the volumes with the bonus stories. But in general the collection is just... sitting on my bookshelf collecting dust 😭
Last movie: Uhhhh.... I used to watch movies so much but nowadays I'm too addicted to youtube content to really sit down and watch movies, because it's always such a hassle because every time a movie is over I'm sitting there like 'ok now what to watch' and then I get stuck in limbo of what I feel like watching skdjfhsd And youtube is endless. But I think that the last movie I watched was "Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back - Evolution" with @jinanreona :3
Last show: ... Same thing here, I don't watch a lot of shows either. And if I do, I usually rewatch shows I'm already familiar with ksdjhfsdf I think the last show I watched in whole was The Walking Dead back in February. And a couple of weeks ago I watched a few Kuroshitsuji episodes with @dokitm! But I think that's about it skjdfhsdf
What are you wearing right now?: .... That is kind of a personal question, isn't it😏
Piercings/tattoos?: No tattoos, but I'd like to have one one day when I'm financially stable to get one skdjhfsd I've had plenty of piercings tho. I got my ears pierced when I was 7 and I still have those, and then when I was 15 I pierced them again so I had two beside each other on each ear. Then when I was 17 I got one for my nose but I let it grow away like 3 years later because I thought it always looked like I had a giant decorative zit on there skjfsd Then I got a navel one when I was 21, and I actually loved it a lot and had it for years. But then one day the jewelry came loose and I couldn't be bothered to get a new one and that one too eventually grew away. I've always wanted a tongue piercing, but it has just never really happened yet. Maybe some day~
Glasses? Contacts?: Reading glasses~
Last thing you ate: My lunch today - salmon in white sauce and boiled potatoes~
Favourite colour(s)?: For stand-alone colours my favorites are black and blue. For colour combos, my all-time favourite is black/white/red, and I also really like purple/pink/orange/yellow.
Current obsession: Uh... I'm very particular in the way I obsess about things skjdfhsdf I don't have a lot of things that I obsess over, but I have a couple that I keep switching between depending on what kind of content I'm exposed to and/or engage in at the moment. Like, for example, right now my current obsession is Breath of the Wild because I'm replaying it to get into the hype for Tears of the Kingdom that is coming out tomorrow (!!!!), and I've been obsessing about it for at least 2 months straight now just because of that. But like... even tho I've been playing a lot, I still don't play every day. And the days when I don't play, I'm obsessing over any of my other interests. And whenever I'm not obsessing over those, I'm obsessing over the one remainder thing. The other day I was obsessing over Warcraft lore because I was spending a whole day playing WoW, and before then I was obsessing over Genshin, and before then it was something else. I obsess over the same things but I do it in phases, and I rarely get new obsessions ksdjhfsdf And ofc, in-between all of these interests, I'm constantly (tho subconsciously) obsessing over Kuroshitsuji and Twisted Wonderland ( Sebastian and Malleus specifically ofc ) :'3 It's like when my mind isn't occupied with anything in particular, Sebastian and Malleus is always living rent free in my head, and I spend my time drawing fanart of them.~
Do you have a crush right now?: Nope. Thus is the life of a demi.~
Favourite fictional character: If I don't say Sebastian Michaelis here I cannot in good faith call myself the biggest Sebastian apologist to have walked this Earth.... but Malleus, Yuugi (ygo), Howl (howl's moving castle - mostly the book version because he's such a little shit there and i absolutely love it, but the movie version is what i was introduced to and it will forever hold a special place in my heart), Zhongli (genshin), Fiore (sailor moon), Mamoru (sailor moon - manga and smc have him much better fleshed out and i love it, but he 90s anime will obviously always have a special place in my heart because it is what i grew up watching ♥ ), Lady Mipha (loz: botw), and Harley Quinn (btas as well as the newer animated harley quinn series) are all ofc huge faves of mine as well ;w; There's absolutely more but.... we'd be here all day~
TAGGED BY: @gosutm , @jinanreona , @pomfiores (thank you guys!!) TAGGING: I think almost everyone has already done this one so I'm just gonna uhhhh tag some that I don't think have done it so uhhhh @casketdweller, @svmmoning, @niiveusx, @decayedhearts, @chxmpionofjustice, @universestreasures, && @ofcryptid!

I Platinumed Hogwarts Legacy and Here's What I Have to Say About the Game
Alright.... So....
Yes, I am a trans woman.
No, I do not support JK or her views.
Hogwarts Legacy was given to me as a gift for my birthday. The person who gave me the gift was not aware of JK... in general. Like, they have zero idea who she even is.
We're well pass the point of harassing people over the franchise so please remain chill or move on to a different post, please.
Now, Hogwarts Legacy as a game is... mid at best. It's average and does well occupying your time. Majority of the trophies were collection based which my 1990s neuron activated on. What can I say? Everyone who played games in the 90s were hooked on collectathons like Banjo Kazooie, Sly Cooper, and Kirby.
Unless you enjoy obsessively collecting everything and the kitchen sink, you're probably not going to enjoy the game much less going for the platinum trophy.
Really, this is a game made for a very specific target audience and it's a target audience I'm a part of. That being fans of the Harry Potter books and movies. Mostly movies.
See, back in the era where everyone got along because politics was boring old people sitting around smelling their own farts (little changed since then) and no one wanted to get into that bull. Kids to teenagers enjoyed a magical series of stories adapted to the silver screen. And it was in this era collectathon platformers were king of the game industry... until Halo happened.
I think Portkey games figured out what people who enjoyed Harry Potter would have played when JK actually kept her fat mouth shut.
Collectathons! Where the player goes out to gather a set number of items for an award. Which is why a large portion of the trophies are "collect all the _____"
There must've been good foresight at Portkey because the Revelio spell saved me a lot of time gathering all of the stuff. From spells to chests to flying pieces of paper. I had a lot of fun exploring the castle and area outside. But I absolutely recognize not many people will enjoy that.
Exploring the castle and grounds is something the target audience (aka Wizarding World fans) really wanted most out of the game. We wanted to be immersed in the world and point to the screen like Leo whenever we notice a reference to the movies or books. We actively log in to pottermore to get our house colors and shiny new wand with glee. Completely ignorant of the world outside the fantasy. Be honest, you don't want to deal with the crisis the last few years have been. Portkey tailored the game to be our escape for just the few hours we needed.
Adding more to that. We also wanted to see all the Hogwarts houses on the inside... except Griffindore. Gryffindoor sucks.
Personally, the Ravenclaw dorm room was everything I ever wanted. The blue and bronze mixed with marble pillars and statues made me happy. It gave me a few decorating ideas for my own room!
The other houses had to be seen... except Gryffendorm. I was extremely reluctant to go in Gryfindorm. And incentive was given in the form of four separate trophies for each Hogwarts house.
You see, there's one quest that changes for each house. Ravenclaw gets an owl puzzle. I very much enjoyed it, Slytherin feeds toast to a kraken mosaic. Hufflepuff gets sent to Azkaban. and the last one parties with a bunch of ghosts. Three of them were quite enjoyable but my enjoyment came from walking around the other dorms.
While walking around Slytherin's aquatic scenery and Hufflepuff's cozy cottage were delights, I still preferred Ravenclaw's sky view tower with starry ceilings. I'm a true blue Ravenclaw.
Even though I loved exploring the castle and everything, it was quite painful to collect every single item for the collector trophy.
I had finished all side quests, all revelio pages, even the trials and demiguise statues! Yet I was still missing a single collection chest. Really did not help the map showed all chests had been found. The butterfly chests are hidden from the map. So I ended up wiping the entire map clean and tripled check back and forth only to discover that the single chest I was missing was in the back of the swamp terrarium in the Room of Requirement.
That was the biggest frustration out of the entire game. Not a bad trade off for all the fun I had. However, not many people will feel the same. Particularly if they were never invested in the Wizarding World.
Hogwarts Legacy is definitely a great game for a specific target audience. For everyone else, it's an easy passable mild distraction. Whoever wanted to play this game already got it. Despite the hell storm that followed it.
Portkey games did a fantastic job with a hot button title but it's only good if you actually want it. If you're no fan of collectathons, Wizarding World, or wondering around for hours then do yourself a favor and avoid this game. If you do like those three things then go ahead! Just try to be patient if you're going to go for platinum.

Finished!!!! (My art is bad, and I’m fairly new to digital art, so let me down slowly)
And as promised, a pair of HCs to go along with it!
Metal Family Halloween HCs! (General and x Reader)
-Dee acts like he doesn’t like dressing up, but he gets really into it. He was that one kid who always had the best, most original, most niche costumes (and you could always tell his parents would help him). He went as Cthulhu for Halloween once when he was 6 and he just looked adorable <333
-He really enjoys scary movies and actually doesn’t get easily spooked by them too, he crapped his pants watching Insidious though. He’s one of those people who reminds themselves that it’s not real, and it actually works for them.
-Doesn’t like gummies, just hard candies and chocolate bars. He thinks gummies are too sweet. So instead of trick or treating, he just goes out and buys a whole bag just for himself. (Also he thinks he’s way too old to go trick or treating) Much prefers handing out candy to the neighborhood kids in matching costumes with you, you were Victor and Emily from the Corpse Bride that year.
-Heavy is just in it for the candy, and he likes seeing black cats pop up on his instagram during October times. He also likes scary mazes and all that kind of stuff. Doesn’t mind dressing up and likes doing Halloween escape rooms with his friends. He’s the type of person who likes getting scared.
-Although Heavy has a huge thing for overly obscene Halloween masks, he loves the classic werewolf look. With his flannel and clip on cat ears. Dee always teases him saying he looks like a furry 😭
-Heavy will always join people to watch creepy movies, even if he watches them through the spaces in between his fingers. He’ll have his chest puffed out and say he doesn’t get scared easily, only to not be able to watch Chucky. Put on the most disturbing documentary about a serial killer who never got caught, and he’ll watch happily. Now, put on a crappy horror movie with the least scary antagonist you’ve ever seen, and he won’t be able to finish it. Unless of course, you’re there for him to cling onto at every screamer on your movie nights.
-Glam goes crazy on decoration and the spooky shit. I mean, his house has a replica of a ram’s skull on it. And that’s on during the whole year. He has impeccable taste in decoration, my man isn’t going to settle for plastic jack o lanterns scattered across his lawn, no.
-He will sculpt entire statues for Halloween, he’s good at everything so-
-Sculptures of fallen angels, imps, headless horsemen, characters from Lovecraft… He is also a big fan of fancy candles! He’ll have electric ones out on the orch to prevent fires, but inside the house he’s got tons of them. In really nice scents, as well. During Halloween season, the whole house smells of smoked sandalwood and lotus.
-Speaking of what Halloween season is to Glam, he puts up decorations as soon as September rolls around. It’s his favourite time of year. He also likes wearing cozy wool sweaters. Likes it even more when you’re piled on top of him with a weighted blanket, stroking your hair lovingly.
-He loves the history of Halloween but strongly dislikes the marketisation of it all.
-Victoria doesn’t have much of an opinion on it, but she enjoys watching scary movies with the family. For two reasons, they’re like the perfect date night movies for her and Glam, and because she loses her shit watching Heavy’s reactions.
-Victoria has this habit of going through Heavy’s collection of Halloween masks. She’ll scare the kids every chance she gets with them, spooking them whenever they turn a corner. Don’t worry though, she wouldn’t dare to scare you, she wouldn’t want to submit you to the Jigsaw mask Heavy has dug away in the attic.

ok i have advice for how to learn to recognize story structures. bcs i don't think the underlying issue is world building. i think it might be story structure and where you want to go with it.
first off: world building is only as important as you need it to be. good world building doesn't actually matter as far as story enjoyment goes. look at game of thrones; people loved that show even tho the world building is atrocious.
Also world building is generally better of it is built in service to the themes and plot so having a good idea of where you want to go will help a ton with the world building later.
As an aside this advice may not work for people that have a different style of writing than me. im more of a architect style writer but garden writers are very common.
garden style is usually more episodic, the author may have a goal but usually will meander their way to it. its just messing around with stuff that you enjoy/feels right. generally its pretty character driven.
architect style is heavily planned out before hand there is a goal/endpoint that the writer knows and is working towards. usually needs a pretty thorough timeline/outline.
garden style lends itself well to exploring characters and character dynamics. a ton of sitcoms are likely garden style writing, as well as adventure time, steven universe, and the first season of gravity falls.(i strongly suspect neil gaiman tends to write garden style as well). architect style is generally good for people that tend to get lost or stuck in a spot. or if your story needs structure.
but this advice is more for architect writing, and doing this made my writing more strongly architect style.
It is also batshit crazy.
Basically you need to find a piece of media with multiple iterations and shotgun all of them. Take a ton of notes. Note story concepts, character interactions, tropes, writing techniques and compare these between each iteration. Beaze and i did this with as many of the on screen tmnt iterations as we could get our hands on. We watched nothing but tmnt for 2 and a half straight days. If it works you will not be able to go back to how you watched media before. I can't read or watch a story without seeing the narrative bones poke through.
breadsword watched the entire scooby doo movie collection and went through a ton of the same stuff. You could definitely do it with the transformers iterations.
What you could also do is read through the odyssey and watch and compare it to Oh brother where art thou. Basically taking iterations/adaptations and seeing how the writers translate it into there own story.
other stuff id recommend:
gravity falls dvd commentary goes over the basics of how these kind of shows are written episode to episode, useful for tv and episodic writing in general.
study politics for the era you plan to set your story, and what events caused said politics. i like to watch videos on the orgins of fashions and the aesthetics of an era bcs quite often the things people wear, the architecture, and how they decorated their houses with reflect a ton about culture and current politics.
try to figure out what sub genres make up your story, is it a: workplace comedy? roadtrip odyssey? springbreak rager? College grads trying to complete an experiment? ect. Highly recommend osp trope talks, and folding ideas for discussions of story elements.
ultimately nitty gritty world building is for after you've got a good idea of what you want to do. it will usually hurts more than it helps if you focus too much on it in the early stages of writing.
When it comes to character building I'd recommend making them with plot useful traits first, then add backstory that explains those traits, and flesh them out from there.
Additionally building characters in pairs or trios is a good idea. give them traits that inherently lead to character interactions (good or bad).
been strugglin to do art related things involving my own creations that arent fandom related. I want to do something with my art and characters, maybe make a comic or animation, but I don't feel my heart in some places where I do in others. like, the alien platoon i have, i want to do something with them but I'm not sure what , truth be told. I'm not much of a story writer and I guess not having a story has been pushing me away from wanting to do more with them as a whole, even tho I really want to.
