THE ART OF PROCRASTINATION Oxford dictionary defines procrastination as " ​the act of delaying something that you should do, usually because you do not want to do it ". That is a pretty straightforward definition for such a complicated sounding word. And though there's so many people unaware of the word itself, we all have consciously or subconsciously procrastinated. In the older generations, procrastination was not an option as the lifestyle back then demanded to be on the run constantly. But since technology has made so many aspects much simpler in our lives, this generation has gotten lazier and can be called the generation of 'Procrastinators'. Very common examples would be how we keep procrastinating doing assigned homework, or wasting time instead of putting together an important presentation or maybe even studying a day before an examination. Therefore procrastination does have a negative impact on our futures, not only in children, but this can prove to be quite damaging and impact careers of adults as well. We often take small breaks in order to destress but we barely know when to stop and go back to completing the assigned work. Time is of great essence in life and procrastination only leads to further wastage of this precious gift. Procrastination can be broadly classified based on perspectives: 1. From a psychological perspective 2. From a Cultural perspective 3. And from a Health perspective Irrespective of the perspective from which we view it, procrastination overall can be quite damaging to our personalities because we may be able to meet deadlines maybe once or twice or several times, but at some point we will miss a deadline and the consequences would definitely make us miserable.

  Procrastinating a few times is still no crime but promoting it isn't a right outlook either. It's a matter of time management which is a necessary skill in life. Keeping that in mind, let us all learn to regulate our schedules and practice not procrastinating but rather completing our assigned tasks well in time. This will ensure that we have enough time for all other aspects in our lives such as family, friends and our personal leisure time as well. In conclusion, we must stop procrastination and begin using the time on our hands to do important tasks and not keep them pending simply out if boredom. We are human and it is human tendency to be bored but we really need to be careful if our break lasts a few minutes or the rest of the year. Making up our minds on how much time we need in order to give ourselves a nice stress free break is a good start to fight the urge to procrastinate. BRYANT: HAT TRICKS HAT TRICK LEADS HAT TRICKS TO VICTORY

BY: Casey Bryant, Danbury Hat Tricks DANBURY, CT - In his first game since signing with the team earlier in the week, Nick DiNicola made a huge splash with three goals to lead the Danbury Hat Tricks to a 6-4 victory over the Delaware Thunder before 1,040 at the Danbury Ice Arena on Friday night. The win was the Hat Tricks' sixth win in a row. DiNicola, a Wolcott, CT native, was named the game's first star as he registered the first hat trick in team history. "It wasn't pretty, but good teams find a way to win," Hat Tricks head coach Billy McCreary commented after the game. "We kinda eased into the lineup tonight but he gave us a lot of energy. He possesses the puck, he makes plays, and he got better as the game went along." The Hat Tricks built a 2-0 lead in the early goings of the first period. Cory Anderson opened the scoring just 2:22 taking a feed from Carter Shinkaruk and beating Thunder netminder, Morgan Hudson. Just over six minutes later, Phil Bronner found the back of the net as well with assists coming from Shinkaruk and Thomas Freeman. Just over a minute later, Eli Kinsman cut the lead in half for the Thunder when he buried a wrist shot past the blocker of Hat Tricks goaltender, Tom McGuckin. Just 21 seconds later the Hat Tricks responded. Matyas Kasek snuck a turnaround shot past Hudson to restore a two-goal lead for the home team. Delaware refused to quit and cut into the deficit again with 5:24 remaining in the period. Anton Kalinin took a feed from Evgenii Demin and fired a slapshot that deflected off a Danbury stick and changed direction on McGurkin and found the back of the net. Anderson took an interference penalty just 1:31 into the second period, giving Delaware a power play that they would capitalize on to even the score. With power play time winding down, Taylor Cutting took a Ryan Marker pass and sent a shot that got past McGurkin at 3:22 and the score was tied at 3. But DiNicola, starting in his first game with the Hat Tricks went to work and would restore the Danbury lead. DiNicola took a saucer pass from Gordy Bonnel and took off on a breakaway and buried his first goal as a Hat Trick at 11:26. With both sides trading high-danger chances, Marker would get on the score sheet for a second time with his 14th goal of the season, 6:14 into the third period. After spending two minutes in the penalty box with Cutting on matching roughing calls, DiNicola went to work. At 14:20, Charlie Pens, Jr went to the box for the Thunder on an Elbowing call. He was joined in the box 1:38 later when Kieran Devine joined him on a Tripping call, giving the Hat Tricks 22 seconds of 5-on-3 power-play time. Jonny Ruiz sent a backdoor pass to DiNicola who banged home his second of the game on the power play at 16:09 to reestablish a Hat Tricks lead at 5-4. With 2:02 left in regulation, DiNicola again found himself the recipient of a cross-crease pass from Ruiz, banged the puck into the net and mailed down the win. McGuckin stopped 29 shots in the win. Shinkaruk registered three assists, with two of them being the primary helper earning him the game's Second Star. Marker, with a goal and an assist, was named Third Star for the Thunder. BY: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings HARTFORD, CT - The Belleville Senators overcame a two-goal deficit and scored twice in the shootout to come away with a 4-3 win over the Hartford Wolf Pack on Saturday as part of an XL Center hockey doubleheader. Drake Batherson and Jordan Szwarz were the sole scorers in the shootout as the Pack, once again, failed to register even one goal after the overtime period, where they were out-shot 3-1. Both teams looked tired in the extra frame having expended so much energy in the third period. Belleville capitalized on a late power play. Morgan Klimchuk, who had strong night for the Senators, was able to dish the puck to Vitali Abramov in the slot off a sharp angle. Abramov just wheeled and fired on Pack netminder, Adam Huska, beating him along the ice far side to tie the game at three at 17:22 The Wolf Pack power play was perfect on the evening, but made their first major mistake of the season while with the man-advantage and it cost them dearly on their third opportunity. A breakdown allowed Belleville to cash in on a two-on-one breakout while shorthanded. Joey Keane was the player back on the two-on-one. He let Huska take on the shooter, Jordan Szwarz. Team captain, Steven Fogarty, raced back in an effort to even things up for the home team, but Szwarz launched a perfect shot that went over Huska's glove hand at 4:23. The goal cut the Pack lead to 3-2. “We make a really poor decision (with the puck)," remarked head coach Kris Knoblauch. "We're on the power play with a two-goal lead, and we didn’t deserve to be in the lead, but for our power play tonight.” The Wolf Pack power play, one of the few weak links in the early part of this season, struck for the second time early in the second period and just 12 seconds into the man-advantage. Fogarty won the face- for the Pack getting it over to Joey Keane. He spotted Vinni Lettieri in his favorite spot on the ice and he hit a one-timer that rocketed past goaltender, Marcus Hogberg. The goal was Lettieri's fourth of the season. “We’ve been working on it day-in and day-out. The coaches are working tirelessly with us on it. We haven’t been so successful lately, and hopefully we started a new trend tonight" Lettieri stated. Keane later extended his point scoring streak to four games while Fogarty’s secondary assist upped his point scoring streak to three games, all of which have been multiple point games. Just after Ty Ronning was stopped on a quality scoring chance, the Pack made it a two-goal lead at 16:49. Ville Meskanen fed Sean Day who whistled one off the post. The puck laid in the crease with rookie Lewis Zerter-Gossage there battling and was able to whack it into the net for his first goal of the season. The Senators put a strong push on before the end of the period, but Huska shut the door on Szwarz with 18 seconds to go. The Senators was no time testing Huska early with a breakaway attempt at 1:30. Klimchuk went to the backhand after coming off the left wing, but Huska was there to end the threat. The Pack finally broke through on the power play after rising a streak of 0-21 over a span of six games. It was also the game’s first goal on a Teddy Bear Toss promotion for Toys For Tots. The Pack got a shot from the left wing side by Danny O’Regan with Tim Gettinger in front. Gettinger then outworked two Belleville players and his stick found the loose puck, and put it in the net for his third of the season at 6:32. Fogarty kept his point scoring streak alive with the secondary assist to keep his point scoring streak going. Belleville, like the Wolf Pack, are a refurbished team with quick strike offensive capability. Jack Dougherty sent a perfect head-man pass to Vitali Abramov setting up a breakaway off the left wing side. His shot was stopped but the loose puck was put in by Josh Norris, who paid the price when he was drilled into the net at same moment by Mason Geertsen at 11:45. Ryan Dmowski will take his place in the lineup tomorrow in Providence. Igor Shesterkin will start in goal tomorrow in Providence at 3 pm against the Bruins Prior to the game, Shesterkin was presented an etched glass award by the AHL's VP of Communications, Jason Chaimovitch, after having been named the "CCM/AHL Goalie of the Month for October."
