Gotta love when a session goes super smooth! Even with a bunch of tracks between percussion, cello, drums, pads, organ, electronic sounds, samples, Rhodes, piano, bass, and guitar, this new single of ours took shape and even got some initial mixing started! This felt like a well-oiled machine, coming into the studio after 3 pre-production sessions to out it all together. Shoutout to @kevinkozel for always doing such quick and creative work in the control room and for @jordanhamiltonmusic putting that platinum gold icing on the cake with his approach to creating beautiful string moments! We got all the toys for today’s session working! We have a designated pedal station running through a preamp into the SSL, and we have a MIDI controller set up to swap different sound sources. In the two videos, you’ll see the Roland JP-08 module running through some effects and then the Yamaha VSS-30 running through a slightly different chain.
