It's almost reflex. And that's when you look at him because it is that loud ( or maybe you're just hypersensitive for him ) and he just smiles apologetically, noticing his tail stopping in mid-air realizing that he has been wagging it all along. Suddenly, he is now warm embarrassed, unable to maintain eye-contant with you, stealing glances.
