Originally was in something like a relationship with Val, but it was more of S.A. than consenting sex after a while. When he began to disagree, this showed more prominently.

I don't have anything for Niffty except for one thing, so trigger warning once more. I believe that Niffty came from an immigrant family from Japan—half white. In the 50s, housewives got a bit stir-crazy from all the work they did, leading to hysteria, anxiety, depression, and other issues. In some situation where leaving the house was necessary, I believe one or multiple guys, possibly older, attempted to sexually assault Niffty. Asian girls, such as myself, that look like that "stereotypical" East Asian, young, small, etc., are fetishized. Niffty must've been little, judging by her form, and she was also an immigrant, and also a WOMAN—seen as lesser. In self-defense, she killed him (or all of them? I'm leaning toward it being multiple), having had enough. She was soon diagnosed with the housewife syndrome and lobotomized, meaning they gave her SEVERE brain damage, hence her twisted mind in the afterlife.

Overall, Niffty is a character that we don't know much about yet. Of course I'll write my own story over that. Playing with fandoms is just what I do. :) While I do genuinely believe the part about her being lobotomized will become canon, the rest is, again, just something that's been brewing in my head for a while. Maybe I'll incorporate it in my own writing, who knows?

okay!!! this is my sign to go insane abt lucifer/charlie !!!

they have the potential to be so cute and wholesome, but it's me - i can't have my ships nice and fluffy. healthy relationships are for the real world, everything needs to be fucked up in fiction !!

my headcanon is that charlie always had a special relationship with her dad. a better one with mom, but her times spent with lucifer even though rare were closer. but its normal, she's his only daughter and it's just normal parental love!! he didn't dare try anything when she was little, hes not that horrible (he totally is but he cant show that part of himself to charlie). it was a loooong investment to slightly push those boundaries more and more, but he has all the time in the world to do so.

so, when charlie is all grown and lucifer visits the hotel for the first time, they greet eachother and start making out. everyone freaks out because holy shit why didn't she ever mention theyre like that??? why are they like that???

she never mentioned it cuz its normal for her. she never knew another father-daughter relationship, it's nothing out of ordinary for them to cuddle, kiss and get a little touchy. and lucifer couldn't give two shits about what some lowly sinners think of that when he can destroy them with a snap of his fingers.

they were never human, so human taboos don't apply to them. or maybe they apply to hellborns too, but as i said - lucifer simply doesnt give a fuck lol. he's the devil. from the bible. let him be a little awful...

ALTERNATIVELY, they had a normal regular not weird relationship. and when charlie reunites with her dad, he's acting just a bit weird. okay, maybe he just doesn't know how to act after such long separation, maybe he's nervous about others, maybe he's just not used to his little girl being grown up.

or maybe that's what bugs him. she's so different now, responsible, so mature and oh lord why is she kinda hot?!?!? she can't be hot, she's my daughter!! but all denial went out when he saw her kicking ass in the final battle, full demon form.

he gets even weirder, there's so much emphasis on my charlie, my daughter, my little girl, and yeah okay he missed her for sure but isn't that a bit over the top??

he's surely just overprotective as always, angry at anyone who touches charlie, anyone who spends time with her alone, and he always growled at alastor when he was too friendly with her. so its not weird. charlie just has to accept him as he is, she could've just misremembered how he was before.

eventually his self control breaks and they fuck nasty about it, charlie knows it shouldn't be like that, but it's not cheating, right?? he's not her lover, he's her dad. and she always wanted him to pay more attention to her, so now that he does charlie shouldn't complain. take what he gives, and if it's mind-blowing sex that's an added bonus (adam's first and second wife didnt seem to hate what he had to offer, charlie doesn't seem to hate it too ^w^)

so, two options! either she's on that from the start, or he drags her into this later (that includes more guilt and shame!! always a treat)

and about charlie x vaggie x lucifer - i thought of that too and it's fun, but i just can't bring myself to really get into anything chaggie. don't get me wrong, they're cute, but that's their only thing. vaggie's personality doesn't (yet? i hope) exist besides charlie, she's just her girlfriend (that happened to be an exorcist but that's it. not much else). chaggie and vaggie's character in general had so much potential, but imo they ruined it by automatically making them girlfriends. both songs that vaggie sings revolve around charlie, it's always vaggie AND charlie!! (barbie and ken kinda situation, they ken-ned vaggie 😭) give my girl some personality, damn it. and what draws me to a ship is all the intricacies that make the relationship interesting, i sadly can't see that in them :/

(but consider this: charlie and lucifer's "more than anything" love song, and vaggie having to sing a reprise later to say "hello??? im also your partner, remember??? i love you more than anything too???" LMAO)

Both of these scenarios are so fucked up and yummy! I really like the guilt aspects that can be played with in this ship. The denial <3 "Oh, im just being... overprotective! Its nothing weird! It cant be weird! Im her father!"

Plus, Charlie gaslighting herself into thinking its okay and healthy is sooo good😋 of course, with them being in Hell, they dont have a moral system like us humans do, so it makes sense they wouldnt really care. But, I like the concept of Charlie and Lucifer both intuitively knowing what theyre doing is wrong (maybe influenced from Lucifers time in heaven, considering he is a fallen angel). They both have sex, and Charlie is overwhelmed with feelings of guilt, but she cant stop. It feels too good, and she loves that shes finally getting one on one time with her daddy. She feels so loved and safe.

Lucifer feels bad, because he knows he groomed his daughter into this situation, but he just cant help himself. Shes so pretty, prettier than Lilith could have ever been. (haha I like the idea of him secretly lusting for Charlie over Lilith, I read a fanfic about it and it drove me wild.) Shes his daughter, he created her, technically owns her, in a sense. He can do what he wants to her. Thats how he justifies it.

Matter of fact, I've read multiple Morningstarcest fics. When I first joined the fandom, I was uninterested in the ship, but then I got an urge to just... look at the tag on ao3. Give it a shot. I was sold 🤭

Oh, and I TOTALLY agree with you on Vaggie. "They ken-ned Vaggie" is SO TRUE i never even thought of it in that way but thats such an accurate way to put it! She really needs to go off and have her own adventures/goals/whatever, separate from Charlie and the hotel. Some sort of type B plot.

I’ve had an idea of this in my drafts for a while (someone sent me an ask about maybe being nicer to Light and I felt bad about not evening out the score) so I’ve actually had quite a bit of time to think about it.

Being in a relationship with this man is certainly a choice. It would be hard to be in a relationship with him if you were insecure. If you had any doubt in your mind that he was unfaithful or that he was not going to come back the relationship would completely fall apart. He is unwilling to pursue anything more serious with you than what you have. You’ll never get to move into a place together or settle down and grow old together; unless his life changes dramatically it is beyond the realm of possibility. If you’re anxious or paranoid the relationship will not hold after a month of no contact. If he thinks you’d be better off with someone you happen to have talked to one time he will never contact you again and you will have no way of getting back in contact. The relationship is entirely on his terms; he can leave you whenever he likes, and if he had his way you would be financially dependent on him just so you could be reminded that you had a boyfriend. He feels the need to make sure that you’re safe at all times but is unwilling to do so much as call you so that you know he’s okay doing whatever it is he’s doing.

Talking in terms of day to day living, it’s also disheartening to be alone all the time, to save yourself constantly for this man that is practically a stranger on paper who you can’t contact and won’t see for months on end. It’s exhausting, looking out for his hints that he’s coming back or trying to piece together where he’s been or what he was doing or if he’s okay. It’s disorienting, not knowing where you stand with him, not getting why he’s so secretive or why he’s so unwilling to take any further steps with you if he likes you as much as he says he does. He’s a good boyfriend when he’s around, but how can you honestly believe he loves you and trusts you when he’s not even willing to tell you basic information about himself, even when you’re sure he knows everything about you?

It’s a challenge. It’s a lot. You’d be dealing with a lot.

Idk how to explain this in WORDS but it feels just how it is to be transmasc and fall into sexist circles even when you know how marginalization feels because of that same system

like it's a very simple story but there's like a semi running joke that kens in barbieland are treated like women/femme ppl irl. and ken finds himself sticking out from that formula even before barbie, there's a sort of performance in his "pre-work" ken to adjust to what it means to Be ken

like he "accepts" that he's nothing without barbie but it's all conscious, like it's something he found out and mimics consciously even when no other ken ever showed those feelings of insecurity and feeling left to a side or as an accessory to barbie like it's an active role they have to put effort in

Kens are the archetype of Ken by default while OUR ken has to put double effort in everything just to even reach that level that is expected from him. even with that performance going as far as to affect how he interacts with barbie, looking out for her approval and all that stuff. there's a level of performance in it that other kens do not need to go through

so when he gets to the real world and finds that he is seen in a better light that barbie for just being himself, he finds that the way to drown his insecurities with patriarchal thinking, he believes that THAT way he won't have to keep up the "&ken" performance that the barbie world imposes

but he finds out that oops!! patriarchy inherently requires performance of masculinity!!!! you're not saved there either!!!!!!!

blablabla the rest of the movie goes on, and while I expected some joke like "but the patriarchy manual tells me crying is lame" I do like that ken recognized it or something, the dialogue in the scene between barbie and ken does feel a bit chunky but you get the general stuff of what's happening there lol

I do think that barbie went through an arc about performance too, and I generally think that the movie gives a message about the whole concept of reducing yourself to the ken or barbie//man or woman as the basis for your value as a person is not the best BUT!!!!! I do wish at least gender non conformity is recognized as something that could have had an effect in the story

the closest thing to gender non conformity is Alan and the weird barbie, but uh I don't count them bc Alan is forever dismissed as not ken but also not barbie so lol why bother and the weird barbie is eventually still seen as weird regardless of anything she's done or said or whatever

They’ve got a slightly messier dynamic w each other bc twins are like that but with their younger siblings they’re a little more consistent

Raph’s a little more gruff like “…good job, kid”noogies and stuff uhh yeah

be very careful when Raph cries or Mikey gets pissed. both are extremely rare and indicative of a very serious situation. (Often Raph crying is what sets off Mikey)

so so I’m thinking Raph actually has anxiety (may haps??) and sort of converts those nerves into anger bc that’s easier for him to deal w. He hates feeling like a coward (maybe when he was little he ran away from smth important and vowed to never be afraid again) so he hates backing down from anything n can be very reckless. His main character arc would probably be learning that fear and courage aren’t mutually exclusive, and that acknowledging and accepting fear is a kind of courage in and of itself. Also being able to back out of something if it freaks him out.

uhh then Mikey’s actually the one with anger issues lmao (maybe??) he tries to hard to keep everyone positive bc his little brothers and twin rely on him to lift everyone up. He’s always trying to cheer people up n make sure everyone’s having fun and feeling supported. He hates hates hates any of his brothers being sad or hurt or upset, so he tries to keep them as happy and carefree as he can. (They’re already missing out on so many normal aspects of childhood, he wants to preserve what he can) He’s what keeps them afloat, so he never allows himself to be heavy. He shoves down his anger and messy feelings until he literally can’t anymore and then he goes deep into the sewers and like idk violently paints or screams or smth. His arc would probably be that it’s ok to not be happy, and to show that. Kinda like rise Raph’s whole thing abt relying on his brothers as they rely on him, but like,,, emotionally. He’s still a very cheerful, positive person, but he learns that having negative emotions and showing it is okay. I’m not sure any of this makes sense lmao

Donnie the ultimate middle child (rip) craves validation like there’s no tomorrow, seriously it’s insane. The main reason he makes all his crazy tech stuff is bc he loves it when his family compliments his work. Dunno abt his main personality that’s more open to interpretation uhh. His arc would be about not only knowing he’s valued no matter what, but to value himself as well. Not attaching his entire self-esteem and self-confidence to what other people say, being able to take pride in himself. Idk.

His brother Raph is so strong and tough and always knows what to do and Mikey is so nice and creative and funny, and Donnie is so smart and he does all these cool things and knows everything about everything. It’s frustrating for him, when his family praises his (idk) uhhh doodles or whatever the same way they praise Donnie’s projects because he knows it’s just because he’s the littlest and they don’t want to hurt his feelings. I hadn't wanted to say anything until I saw it, and I am still reserving some judgement until I do see it, but in all honesty, since the first fuller-length trailer for the Barbie Movie I was concerned it was going to fall into a certain brand of like. 2010s, gender essentialist, non-intersectional feminism type deal. Which, I don't think Barbie is the vehicle for intersectional messaging anyway. But I was concerned all the same bc I wanted to look forward to a campy movie with some girl power messaging.

Nothing I have learned since it's released has challenged that perception. It's worsened it actually bc how are you going to let a line comparing Ken bringing patriarchy to barbieland (already an inherently muddled choice on account of Kens' prior status in barbieland) to Smallpox as a vector of Native Genocide make it into the film proper.

Like, it's not meant to be edgy humor or anything, it's not a joke line, but that it made it into the final cut of the movie highlights that there's a certain kind of blindspot in the creation of the film.

Again, I'm not saying anything abt the movie as a whole, I want to watch it to get an idea of everything. But I already had issues with this plotline's apparent execution, and it really does sound like it's going to be tied to the worst pitfalls in the movie. And I think a big part of that is because substantial feminist critique is not going to vibe well with a commercial movie, lol, but also maybe bc this is the 3rd movie of a white woman director whose personal views on gender are still seemingly in a binary? Aspects of this mentality are there in LW2019, but that's neither here nor there, and they are more easily excused bc -gestures-.

But anyway yeah. I'm going to see barbie. I just also am not expecting it to be something I can just have fun watching, and unfortunately I don't mean that in an enjoyable way.

aside from all that, there’s a reason Millie acts this way. she had it pretty rough when she was ACTUALLY 3, so you kinda have to be there for her. sometimes she’ll go weeks without a prank, only to come into their room, crying into her hands because she just can’t handle all the bad memories she has, and she apologizes for being a nuisance and playing pranks and hitting all the time, but she just can’t help it sometimes!!!! she has so much pent up frustration that she doesn’t know how to deal with!!! they just have to be there to tell her that its ok, i understand, i don’t blame you, until she stops crying. she’ll sleep in their room that night, but in the morning she wakes them up by putting a slug on their face and saying “if you EVER tell ANYONE what happened i SWEAR i’ll like. literally actually put you in the oven and cook you alive, got it?”

so her parent’s story was actually a pretty big scandal in the 90′s ! basically theo’s mom was the pretty famous front woman of a band ( think stevie nicks in fleetwood mac ) who was long engaged to the guitarist of that same band....until one day it was announced she was quitting the group and starting her solo career, leaving her fiance, and signing to a new label.....which was run by theo’s father, a young up & coming producer taking over the family business. not even three months later theo’s mom releases her first solo album, produced and co-written by theo’s father, basically detailing this years long affair the two had been having... in a series of really catchy, moving, and wildly successful songs. 

the public went crazy over the drama, especially when rumors started circulating ( through detailed analysis of the lyrics to all of theo’s mom’s solo songs ) that the well known band had actually been quite toxic. basically it was enough to convince media outlets and fans alike to forgive theo’s parents for being cheaters and breaking up the band JSDBWBDJWBD. by the time theo was born in the last year of the iconic decade that launched both her parents into stardom, everyone couldn’t be happier the two stars were getting the happy life they deserved <3

so here comes baby theo.....and the world kind of just immediately labels her as america’s sweetheart. her mom had some minor health issues which just meant it would be safer to not have anymore kids after theo, so not only was she this little angel to the public, she was also her parent’s little miracle baby ! lets just say she had some big shoes to fill bc of all the expectations ..

luckily no one had to worry abt her being a demon child JSBDJWDWJ because she turned out to be a very sweet kid ! she was a HUGE daydreamer since she spent a lot of time alone growing up </3 her mom had retired from singing and was now helping theo’s dad run the label, and the two of them were always busy looking for new talent to sign. she didn’t have any siblings and although she had a really attentive nanny it just .. wasn’t the same ?? so to #Cope JSBDWBSBDJW theo was always creating these super elaborate little fantasy worlds. it wasn’t uncommon for u to find her deeply engrossed playing barbies alone like she had scripts and everything 

by the time she was a preteen her parents were both really pressuring theo into thinking about a singing career, so wanting to please them ( and knowing that it was something she was kinda into anyway ) theo said ok sure ! and that’s where.....things start to take a turn. since she was so young she had this very very clean, innocent, cute image ( think disney stars ) & most of the music she was making was used for kids shows or movies. she didn’t really mind it so much but she noticed that her creative process wasn’t really valued ? or taken very seriously by her parents, because in their eyes like that’s their kid you know she’s still young, she’s always had her head in the clouds, they just really didn’t think it was a big deal if they took control. 

so theo put up with it, but the years kept going by, she kept getting older, and nothing was really changing. she still had a squeaky clean image, little say in the type of music she was making, but on the outside everything looked great. the public loved her, she was a role model for kids ( even though she was a teenager now ), it was all perfect.....until it wasn’t. when she was 16, she had a scandal akin to the vanessa hudgen’s nude photo leak, except it wasn’t as explicit ( not a nude, just a suggestive pic ) and it was way way worse considering theo was a minor. 

legal action was immediately taken by her parents, but once something’s out there you can’t really stop it from circulating, so the photos existed, just not on any official media sites. it was traumatizing for theo having her privacy breached like that, especially because instead of talking about how disgusting it was that someone would leak those photos when she was just a teen, gossip sites & fans alike were too busy talking about how her image was ruined. since she’d had such a clean, innocent reputation, people kinda forgot that... she was an actual person going through life growing up, and that she wasn’t perfect. 

theo, being the optimist she is, was like hey you know what? this is my chance to stop making music i dont love. after what was probably her first truly honest convo with her parents, they agreed she should be free to figure herself and her art out. so for the remainder of her teenage years theo fell off the face of the music world....

only to pop back up in the modeling one ! like most celebrities, social media had a big say in this. since reputation wasn’t something theo had going for her anymore, what she did have was a hell of a following still and two famous parents ( not to mention ... shes tall JSBDJWBDWJ ) she did maybe one runway show before deciding she hated that. tbh she hated any modeling that felt too constricting, which is why she never ended up doing anything for big names & mostly does stuff for foreign brands & magazines. 

she liked how much aesthetics had to do with modeling, and to some extent being a part of shoots satisfied that creative itch she had, but music was always her first love. theo really wanted to go back and revisit it, but she was scared the public’s reaction wouldn’t be what she hoped /: 

so following in her mother’s footsteps, theo’s re entrance into the music scene was an ep ( 100% written, produced, edited, you name it, by her ) she released on the eve of her 18th bday basically explaining everything she went through with art. it was only four songs + an interlude, which would become the most talked about part of the whole thing because it was snippets of various reporters talking about that photo leak.

the public had mixed feelings ! unlike with what happened with her parents, not everyone was ready to “forgive” theo. and since she hadn’t done any promo for her music, or for her career as an artist independent from her parent’s famous label, it wasn’t like she was making crazy money and getting all this recognition. but !! she was insanely insanely happy, and that’s when she realized making music wasn’t something she did for other people, just something she liked to share, so what did it really matter if she could be more famous if she was an artist under her parent’s label ? 

cue present day theo, model & singer, although the labels are pretty loose. although her music is getting way more recognition than it did three years ago, she’s still trying to do things independently from her parents, and she still has yet to become a chanel ambassador or anything crazy SDWBKWKFW. because of that she’s kind of garnered this new reputation for herself as one of those celebs that don’t really feel like celebs, like maybe she’s just like u except let’s be real she’s rich and her experiences are NOT universal even if her cute insta pic talking about ~her feelings~ in the caption makes u think they are

not even gonna lie to u guys....she is baby. i dont mean that in a uwu shes 20 but im gonna weirdly make her act like a child way im not a freak shes just baby ! like i mentioned earlier theo was a HUGE daydreamer growing up, and tbh she still is except now that’s she’s older her overactive imagination can kinda get her into trouble. a good example of that is the fact that since she’s so keen to see the silver linings in life and the bright sides, she can neglect the bad sides of people and situations so things still fit into her romanticized vision /: this was the cause for many heartbreaks in theo’s life, and she’s still guilty of doing this although she’s trying to work on it !

very much the kind of person to treat everyone like a friend ( that means strangers too ) until you prove you should be treated otherwise. it takes a lot for her to not fuck with you, so if she doesn’t like you then you probably did something to deserve it /: she’s always had a curious personality as well so it’s really easy for her to connect with people just because she’s constantly fascinated by what she doesn’t know about a person. sometimes it can make ppl uncomfortable just how casually she can have a deep convo, but she just never had that filter where she has to know you for 5 years before she opens up about her trauma </3 you know how when bp’s rose and red velvet’s joy had dinner for the first time rose made joy cry bc she was talking abt her family and stuff ? How does Cora feel abt Sam and Darcy? How often does she get to see them? How do they interact? I just finished rereading dyk for the first time since you revamped it and it made me wonder abt this.

she travels a lot. and i mean globally. secretly, stiles thinks she is a multinational drug runner. the point is that she doesn’t visit often.

she is fond of the children because they are her family’s blood and bones, and because, like all her sisters, she never thought derek would have children. he’s always been a little like their mother and a little like their father. dad went everywhere, never put down roots; mom chose a place and stayed there. laura was just like mom. cora was just like dad. derek could have gone in either direction, but cora wonders if he’s like either of them. maybe he’s like himself. he has now created werewolves through both methods available, and she asked him which he preferred. he said he didn’t know.

the children think of cora as one version of a feminine ideal. everything they conceptualize about being a woman is represented in lydia, in cora, and in the bitches from frozen. cora is an imposing, strong example of womanhood. she has dark hair and a beautiful face, but there’s something sharp and hardened about her. she also isn’t frightened of anything but the black abyss. they regard cora with awe and excitement. her visits are unannounced and amazing. this stresses stiles out because in his house, visits were anticipated and prepared for. the hales just showed up places, so derek’s not really worried about it. he doesn’t change anything whether she’s there or not except for buying beer and expecting an extra person at mealtimes.

second kid spends a lot of time bringing cora various objects. she sits on the back patio and talks to derek and every minute or two zdzisława toddles over to her, pushes a toy or derek’s stapler into her hands, and then goes away again. cora regards her new collection of artifacts with some indifferent confusion.

first kid wants to sit with her because she smells good. exciting and different. some oaky, woodsy perfume, some store brand shampoo. he holds her hand when they walk somewhere. she shows him how she braids her hair, and he cannot replicate it on his dolls. when led into his bedroom, she sits cross-legged on the floor and applies barbie shoes to a plastic dog, which cracks samuel up.

when she is leaving again, she wonders why she doesn’t stay. why she doesn’t come more often. but that’s the only time she wonders.
