kiriko just sighed, starring blankly at you, barely listening into whatever you were saying. she understand that you were worried, she thought about calling you to let you know she will be coming home later but things got so heated she lost her phone. so she beared your loud words, a little bored of it as she sat next to you on the couch. but she did nothing your looking kinda wrong, as if you haven't brushed it or had a hat on. she reached out to fix it, ran her fingers through your hair like a brush. you looked at her like she was crazy, your mouth still moving with concern but as soon as her fingertips reached your scalp, pushing on it you shut up, leaning into her touch like a pet would.

it was unlike amélie to let herself be wounded, she always choose to fight from a distance and there was little to no chance of anyone detecting her from the heights she climbed up to.

there was hardly any more way to express how stupid her plan was and most would have stopped at half of the rambling your were still going at. amélie just sat there, enduring your harsh words thrown at her that she knew were just a sign that you were worried sick when she came home with a bleeding bandage on her arm.

she herself has no idea what made her reach out with her bad arm, try to caress your face and anger you even more, but all your words seemed to choke into a sigh as her finger dig through your locks, massaging your scalp the slightest.

elizabeth loved going out to the local bar with some of her gang members to drink, and ruff some people up before getting home but tonight she picked a bigger fish than she could fry and bob wasn't there to help her out. so she came home with a few bruises

x "could you be more reckless? i get you don't like people messing with you but you are smarter than this!" you fumed as you cleaned the blood from under her nose with a towel wet with warm water.

ashe just rolled her eyes at your comments, having an internal monologue of speaking back to you, trying to defend herself but even if she tried to speak you wouldn't even notice because of how angry you were. she just gazed at your face, following the way your lips moved with every word, how the skin on the corner of your eyes creased when you took a second to look at her face rather than her nose then turn your body to re-wet the cloth.

your hair seemed to bother you, as you kept fixing it, pushing it to the side, then to the other side in between words, trying to get it to stop bothering you. ashe noticed, much rather focus on you struggling with your hair than your words. she reached her hand out, pushing the hair out of your face the way you liked it before raking her finger in your hair, dragging her fingertips across your head with some pressure.

Summary: A sfw A-Z for Elizabeth Caledonia "Calamity" Ashe, from Overwatch!

Warnings: mentions of alcohol.

Notes: Would you be shocked if I told you this is my second request in nearly two months or so?   Also some of these are a little short, so I do apologise-  My requests are currently open! My pinned post (found here) contains both a list of characters I write for, and a masterlist!

A - Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

When it comes to affection, Ashe is like two sides of the same coin. In public, she doesn’t show all that much affection to anyone. Even you can’t make her stray from that mindset- she doesn’t want people to think she’s gone soft. In private though, very different story, for the most part. She can sometimes be a bit awkward with affection, be it giving or receiving, but she tries her best. 

B - Best Friend (What would they be like as a best friend? Where does the friendship start?)

Ashe is very much a no-nonsense sassy friend.She’d tell it to you straight, leave out everything that’s necessary to her point. The bond between you would probably start when you where speaking to Reyes about McCree. She’d jump in to tell you a few embarrassing tales of him before she informed you of the practical backstabbing he’d done. 

C - Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Ashe isn’t too much of a cuddler, or a hugger for that matter. She was deprived of physical affection for most of her life, so affection is often very awkward. She’d attempt to cuddle you with your head on her chest, but she finds it a little bit easier to cuddle and hug from behind. 

D - Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking, cleaning, ect?)

No. Ashe is most certainly not a domestic woman- she can just about cook, never really bothered with cleaning as she didn’t need to, and she has never thought about settling down properly, even with you. 

E - Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

She’d be blunter than the butt of her rifle- again, no nonsense. She wouldn’t beat around the bush, she’d would get straight to her point. Life’s too short for euphemisms.

F - Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? Do they wanna get married?)

Commitment, like settling down, was nothing that Ashe really considered. And to be honest, she probably still isn’t considering it. 

G - Gentle (How gentle are they both physically and emotionally?)

Not overly gentle. She can be pretty rough- linking to both her upbringing with absent parents and gang activity. She will try, rarely, when she thinks it’s needed. 

H - Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it, and what are they like?)

She isn’t keen on hugs, either. (See C- cuddles).

I - I Love You (How fast do they say the “love” word?)

Like hugs, cuddles, and most forms of affection, the L word isn’t one Ashe eagerly wants to let past her lips. She has said it to you once or twice, when she thought you were asleep, and wouldn’t hear her. 

J - Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What are they like when jealous?)

Ashe is an incredibly jealous woman. She gets very angry, and very confrontational when jealous too. Not always the best emotions to course through the hot-head’s veins, but she doesn’t shy away from her negative emotions at all. 

K - Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Quick, heated, passionate. When they do happen at least. Usually her kisses come before some very lustful scenes, so.. There’s that. 

L - Little Ones (How are they around kids?)

Please keep Ashe away from children. Please. She is not good around them, at all. Not even as a family friend.She is not a good role model in any sense of the word. 

M - Morning (What are mornings like with them?)

Ashe is usually up pretty early, and doesn’t hang about too long- she doesn’t like wasting daylight. She’ll occasionally stay for a few minutes longer for a cup of coffee, but apart from that she’s usually gone just after you wake up. 

N - Nights (How are nights spent with them?)

She’ll spend a lot more time with you in the evening, winding don with you by her side. When I say by her side, I mean at least vaguely around her. 

O - Open (When do they open up about themselves?)

Much like McCree, almost never. Though, if you gave her enough whiskey, you could probably wrangle at least a few details out of her. 

P - Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Needless to say, though Ashe tries to be reasonable at times, she has a very short fuse. Almost anything can set her off- a small, repetitive noise, someone telling her to repeat herself or even just waking up in a bad mood.

Q - Quizzes (How much do they remember about you?)

Almost everything. She knows your star sign, your favourite colour, the way you have your favourite hot beverage, and every date important to you. Just because it seems like she is absent doesn’t mean it’s entirely true. 

R - Remember (Favorite memory with you?)

Her teaching you to shoot glass bottles and porcelain plates with her rifle. It was a fun day, for both of you. You have a picture of it too, and she keeps a copy tucked on the dash of her bike.

S - Security (How protective are they?)

Very protective. She is aware that you, in theory, could fight your own battles, but insists on doing them for you regardless. It was almost no effort for her, her sphere of influence was larger than it may first appear. 

T - Try (How much effort do they put in?)

About average, overall. When she’s out, not all that much. When it’s just the two of you alone, she tries her best to put her heart out to you, though it’s hard for her. 

U - Ugly (What are their bad habits?)

Swearing, violent tendencies (though not towards you), and manageable drinking. 

V - Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

She does put some effort in, but she isn’t precisely vain. Her looks come naturally to her. 

W - Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

She would certainly feel like something is missing from her life, for a little while at least. She would eventually move on, 

X - Xtra (Random HC)

Ashe had B.O.B tear off McCree’s arm because he was looking at you “With heart eyes, dove.” 

Y - Yuck (Things they don’t like either in general or a partner?)

Too much back-chat- she doesn’t like getting sassed. 

Z - Zzz (Sleep habits)

Ashe is a rather light and restless sleeper, hence why she always gets up so early. She wakes up at first light and can’t get back to sleep.

An additional thought on O Caledonia: in the foreward, the author writing the foreward said that they adored O Caledonia so much that they once befriended someone solely on the basis that it was their favorite book, saying it was “a decision I have never once regretted”. When I read it, I wondered, “Am I supposed to be impressed by that? Am I supposed to find that endearing?” Because I wasn’t impressed and didn’t find it endearing in the least; on the contrary, it only impressed on me the knowledge of the adverse, that someone who was so singularly passionate about a work would find anyone who didn’t share their enthusiasm for their pet unendearing if not irritating; that if they were automatically predisposed toward anyone who loved their favorite work then they would be equally indisposed toward anyone who felt differently about that work. And in O Caledonia’s case, someone who fiercely loved that book would find my feelings of its ending being needlessly sad to be puerile and shallow, and my negative feelings toward the book a source of irritation for them that would negatively dispose them toward me. They might even think me a stupid or shallow person not got “getting” the work or appreciating what they saw in it. I can already see the eyes narrowed in contempt as they listen to me say I didn’t like the ending and felt it ruined the book, the instant decision that I was someone who lacked the subtlety necessary to understand their point of view and so they’d never bother, the way so many people have looked at me in life. People who’ve had a high opinion of their own tastes and understanding have always looked down on me whenever I’ve disagreed with them., so I find that trait very unattractive in people.

So I don’t think I could be friends with anyone who loves the book, but only because they wouldn’t want to be friends with me for not liking the book.

Plot 1: Since Narcian is one of the main boys of Kiran’s special squad. Adventures out there in the field are definitely a given. Plus it will be interesting to see how contrasting personalities clash and somehow manage to make something happen. Though the thought of Narcian being a little more of a coward than Kiran never fails to make me laugh. Especially considering he mounts a flying dragon for god sakes.

Plot 2: General slice of life threads will never be short of entertaining between the two. As Narcian is spouting off his usual spiel of being the hottest shit from Bern to Caledonia and Kiran is just getting used to his shit that he just gives responses that either nonchalant or dismissive towards him. This is not even getting towards the share of small fire arguments these two are bound to have it’s good shit all around.

Plot 3: Threads where Kiran has those chances to get to know Narcian a little bit a better to understand where he goes off thinking he is hot shit, Whether it’s through justified list of achievements or just him over inflating his ego. Kiran’s first impressions with Narcian weren’t the best, so maybe, just to give him a fair shot, learn more about the Winged General.

If I were to write a play about Brexit, it would be so long it would probably require two intervals. My Country doesn’t even have one, which I thought was quite an achievement in itself until I realised that the complex arguments both in favour and against leaving the European Union weren’t really being discussed in a meaningful way. I don’t think it is categorically a missed opportunity because essentially, the play does what it sets out to do, in giving its audiences verbatim opinions from both political leaders and members of the public. The voices of ‘Leavers’ seemed more prominent than those of ‘Remainers’, a point a fellow theatregoer and I separately concluded. In case anyone thought our positions on the country-wide referendum in 2016 influenced this viewpoint either way, I voted one way while she voted the other.

The play gets off to a serene start, with the characters introducing themselves. Britannia (Penny Layden) chairs a meeting of regional representatives. It’s absurdist, and to aid understanding, the show’s programme even has an article on Britannia – its etymology and ‘modern use’, and everything in between. Now, there are certain stereotypical conceptions out there of behaviour and lifestyle in the various regions of the UK. My Country does little to discourage them, which made me think of a lyric from the musical Avenue Q: “Ethnic jokes may be uncouth / But you laugh, because they’re based on truth.” So Cymru (Christian Patterson) leads a rendition of Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer, Caledonia (Stuart McQuarrie) storms off at one point, showing off his ‘independence’ (geddit?) and the North East (Laura Elphinstone) apparently likes to have chips as a pizza topping. Oh, and everyone in Northern Ireland (Cavan Clarke) randomly breaks into Riverdance whenever they’re in a good mood.

Things are so calm and respectful to begin with that one can quite easily predict that chaos is about to descend in some form. I didn’t see any meaningful purpose in having numerous personal stories being told. They were interesting, but as there were so many of them, they felt disconnected from one another. It would be harsh to say there was no character development, but in jumping from story to story, the play becomes unnecessarily complicated. I would have preferred hearing the views of someone who was interviewed as part of the research process for this play in its entirety (or near entirety) before moving on to the next one.

[See image gallery at http://ift.tt/1FpwFUw] This, then, is more a stream of consciousness than a coherent debate, epitomised so well by a child interviewee who talks about there being a “good train service, good bus service, good taxi service” where they are based. Of the political voices, the likes of Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson were over-represented. Penny Layden’s portrayal of Johnson is faultless, and while his soundbites make for good entertainment in the National Theatre (“My policy on cake is pro having it and pro eating it”) it makes the play unbalanced.

And then there’s all that business about the colour of beans and the curvature of bananas. Elsewhere, I found someone’s analysis of “Brexit means Brexit” downright hilarious, and there is indeed something bizarre at best and vacuous at worst by defining something by itself. However, repeated pleas from Britannia to ‘listen’ began to irritate. What else would an audience be doing in the theatre if not listening? The cast do a great job, but there’s not much to take away from this ambitious but unexceptional production. Even Jeremy Corbyn has acknowledged a “real fight” has started, which makes the play’s instruction to lend an ear to what people are saying, with no accompanying encouragement to take action, rather odd.

O O SEVEN (Huntingdon 3.20) made a good start to his chasing career when scoring with ease at Cheltenham, beating he useful Sizing Tennessee and Rock The Kasbah in November. The strapping son of Flemensfirth won over 3m as a hurdler and he was a fine second in a Grade 1 novice hurdle at Punchestown in April. So it was something of a surprise that he was a beaten third as an odds-on favourite for his second spin over fences at Doncaster last time. The Nicky Henderson-trained seven-year-old did not quite get home over that 3m trip and today’s 2m4f trip should be ideal, despite giving away upwards of 16lbs to his five rivals. Henderson was planning to run in the Grade 2 Dipper Chase at Cheltenham but withdrew him from that, although the JLT Novices’ Chase at the Festival meeting still the long-term plan.

POTTERS LADY JANE (Lingfield Park 3.00) won a bumper on her second start at Fakenham and was thought enough of to run in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree in April. The Lucy Wadham-trained mare has since had a trio of runs in maidens on all-weather surfaces and has twice finished as a runner-up, both times at Chelmsford. Latterly, she ran a fair race behind Lord Topper in a 1m5f in October, when touched off by half a length. She has not run since, but goes well fresh and the Newmarket stable remains in fine fettle. This 1m4f fillies’ handicap won’t take a lot of winning, so she has a reasonable chance off a mark of 73.

SNOW SQUAW (Lingfield 2.30) goes in search of her first win after five unsuccessful attempts. David Elsworth’s runner was backed from 25/1 to 11/2 on her Newmarket debut in July, but was a no-show behind Hawana. She looked much straighter next time at Ascot but was beaten 2l by Kazimiera, who went on to finish runner-up in a Listed race at Newmarket in October. The nearest she came to success was when short-headed in a 7f AW Kempton fillies’ maiden in August but she has a bit to prove after two below-par efforts in her last two runs.
