hirmi: 3, 6 kosei: 9, 13 jovian: 16, 19 bodrum: 23, 30
i forgot about this
hirmi
3. What does their safe space look like?
his safe space is a quiet firbolg village in the woods! this is his best friend's hometown and is almost entirely off the map, so outsiders can't find it. druidic magic makes it a nice shelter from the northern winter. it always feels like spring/summer there.
hirmi spends about 5 years living here with his friend's family after his friend dies while he Emotionally Prepares to reenter society. his safe spaces in his own hometown would be the hot springs spa or just his bedroom! any place with quiet, ambient light, and a relaxing atmosphere is somewhere he would gravitate towards. he decorates his room with a lot of nature-inspired things, so it kind of feels like his other home in the woods. :)
6. What kind of books comfort them? What books help them heal after a hard day?
i don't think he's much of a reader honestly LOL. he does have a pocket field guide that was a gift from his grandma that he enjoys reading. i wouldn't say he goes to it for "healing" tho...
the 3rd arc in his story focuses on him learning more about his culture's religion. i could see him finding comfort in the bible-equivalent or sacred texts or whatever of his moon goddess.
kosei
9. What is your character’s trigger point? What makes them angry, sad or makes them go off?
kosei is a nobody who is slowly regaining his ability to really "feel" things. i try to rp him pretty straight-faced to capture that "heartless" vibe, but recently in our story he did have a moment when he snapped once he found out one of his friends is/was being manipulated by their nemeses (plural). they were convincing his friend that they (kosei and his other friends) were the real enemy, and he thought he had lost his friend forever. he doesn't like the feeling that something is being taken away from him, or that he is helpless, or that he is backed into a corner.
13. Describe your character’s typical wardrobe for the regular day.
he is a train mechanic at the twilight town train station! he usually wears clothes that are comfortable and easy to work and move in. he just wears sweatpants, a jacket, sneakers and some working gloves.
jovian
16. What do they look for in a friend? A love interest?
jokes on you because jovian doesn't "look for" anything in a friend. if you breathe air he is your friend.
as for love interest, he needs someone with the same vibe as him. he would want someone who at least understands and respects his religion, even if they don't practice it themself. someone who is sympathetic, playful, and nonjudgmental. he's not the type of person who would make appearance a high priority in a romantic partner.
19. What does your character consider to be their lowest point?
the whole drugs thing was objectively a bad look for him.
bodrum
23. What is your character’s favourite food and who cooks it best?
he's a big fan of alternian game. anything hunted, like ducks, chickens, or pheasants/quail. he likes them fresh and roasted, maybe with vegetables or stuffing and a nice dry rub. i think he CAN cook it himself, and he cooks it just the way he likes it, but i also can see amytis taking great great care to learn to cook it the way he likes it. he likes it more when he doesn't have to put the effort into doing it himself LOL (don't we all).
30. Do they dwell better in chaotic situations or more linear situations?
DEFINITELY linear situations. he needs a chance to think about what's happening and can't make a snap decision. one thing at a time, please.
#thank u neb!#oc stuff#lets T-A-L-K-A-B-O-U-T about ocs#au where these 4 are teleported to the same universe and make a boy squad

Omg do you have any other Kanda/Daisya headcanons?? They’re such a Pandora’s box to me 😭 I didn’t even think about them until I saw ppl on here talking about it and now it’s too late!!! I’m just thinking about them all the time 💜💙
oh hello there anon!
this ship is… a fascinating child to me. A half-crack fic idea came to me at work a few weeks ago, thinking about how Daisya’s character design almost looks like an early concept of Alma*, and it just spiraled. Fic pending (also it’s more yulma angst than kandai, but i’m trying—their relationship is actually the hardest thing for me to write)
*i know that, conceptually speaking, Daisya existed before Alma, but yk what I mean
also, as an aro/ace with no relationship experience, I’m not really a fluff writer to begin with; but I also project hc Kanda as aro/ace, so none of these are gonna be too romantic oops. They were fun to think up though!
— They never labeled themselves as being “in a relationship” but they were “exclusive”, if that makes sense
— Daisya would always tell Kanda how they should go to Bodrum on holiday. Kanda can’t imagine ever getting a break, and would therefore be dismissive of the suggestion; but he secretly was really looking forward to it.
— Daisya also promised to teach Kanda how to swim when they went
— When out on missions with Daisya, Kanda always tries to steal and hide Charity Bell (when they’re not fighting, duh) otherwise Daisya will bother him with it
— Daisya was always Kanda’s favourite sparring partner because he uses a long-range weapon (Lenalee is close range and Marie would always go easy on him) and was thus (in Kanda’s opinion) the most suitable opponent to practice fighting akuma
— Daisya is physically pretty weak, and Kanda would make fun of him for it; but Kanda would also always drag him to hand-to-hand training to help him not rely so much on his innocence
— Kanda beat Daisya at Backgammon ONCE and wouldn’t shut up about it for weeks. (Daisya beat him hundreds of times…and may or may not have let Kanda win that one time) this is not me projecting the fact that I have tried to learn how to play this game multiple times and honestly understand the rules less and less each time
— Daisya once tried to sneak some seasoning into Kanda’s soba… Daisya wound up in the infirmary for three days (Kanda felt a little bad)
— Even though Kanda hates sweets, Daisya tricked him into trying Baklava during a job in Greece once, and Kanda actually enjoyed it
— They once tried making some together… Jerry banned them from the kitchen
— Kanda was Daisya's first kiss; Kanda considers it his first kiss too
(I know it's played as a joke, and the light novels are more canon-adjacent than expressly canon, but I think we need to acknowledge the questionable implications of a 40(?) year old kissing a 1(3) year old -- even if he was inebriated)
#maybe i'll elaborate on this one day lol#jiji you're not beating the creepy old man allegations on my watch#shut up lilly#kandai#let's chat#d gray man#yu kanda#daisya barry#ask#anon

Bodrum to Kalymnos
OMG they are going to have to drag me off this gulet kicking and screaming, gluten free pancakes for breakfast 😜
After a delicious breakfast Jose had a massage and I got the washing organised and then we headed off for a walk around Bodrum. I enjoyed our morning looking around the castle, coffee and baklava. However, Bodrum is not somewhere I could spend much time. It’s full of tourists and touristy shops.
Back to the gulet for lunch (delicious again, good thing we’re back on the bikes tomorrow) and then we cleared customs and headed off to our first island, Kalymnos. On the way we had dolphins playing in our bow wave 🥰
We arrived at Kalymnos at around 6pm so got to have a meander before dinner. Jose and I found a little bar by the sea for an ouzo - had to be done.
Another delicious dinner on board. I don’t know what’s happening to us but again we enjoyed fish, two different dishes 😳. I’m a little tired after all this doing nothing today so an earlyish night.

I always post some dumb photos which are representing my life cycle. Unfortunately, that cycle is not flowing properly for a long time, as you know the thing that we call 'life' is cruel and uncaring void. However, everybody has their own style.
During my hardest times, I was trying to keep my creativity and my interest in food alive and feed my gusto to keep my sanity clear. Even though the time that I spent in Bodrum, helps a lot but my mind always flies away like a bird that flows far far away from the ground. At those times it lands on the shoulder of my most beloved ones who are not around me for a long time.
Even if you did concern about me or not, I'm still here and struggling. I can not complain about that because as you know life is full of it. I'm lying down and sunbathing at the nook shore when I was writing this note. Khruangbin is in my ears, my Sharpie and my notebook about unfinished plate sketches hurt my neck in the bag and waves come and go.
I do not know where will i be next few days, I do not know where the wind blows me. I have the worst skill set that predicting the direction of the wind and clearing the uncertainties of the future. That's why I always drive through the left line of the highway, alone and at full throttle. But in this journey, my biggest effort is to find a way to make myself happy. Sometimes it's watching the sunset, sometimes it's a glass of wine, sometimes it's spending all day in the kitchen, sometimes it's hugging an old friend, sometimes it's smoking hot big mac at midnight.
Hope you all can fill the hole that in your soul and won't give up even if you think that you've been cursed about keeping happiness and hope you'll find the best store of your favorite fast food chain. Wish you all good luck with that.

I’m gonna go Turkey during Christmas! Is there any snow there? how’s the weather? The price is pricey is no surprise. Standard price for oversea!! If you buy any souvenirs , can you share us an image? :)
ooooo nice!! Hope you‘ll have nice holidays!! Snow in winter really depends on where exactly you are; was in Istanbul during New Years a few years ago and it was still a mild 20°C (well, mild for Turkey anyways), but it also gets snow once a year as far as I‘m aware. Genereally, the more northern and east sides get more snow though iirc.
Weather‘s like 30°C rn where I am but it‘s night, so it‘s very comfy! Plus during the day there‘s not much water saturation in the air so it‘s fine too (as long as you‘re not standing in the sun >v< That one‘s still a deadly lazer if you‘re not in the sea. …Or anywhere in Antalya. F to Antalya fr even the sea is a kettle)
Thing is, the price is pricey this year even for Turkey lol. In Bodrum (uhhh think Mallorca: Turkey Edition. Or whatever the first place is you think of when hearing "Big Tourist Party Place".) they apparently want the equivalent of a solid 25€ for a single Turkish Pizza this year; you Do Not Pay 25 bucks for a Single Turkish Pizza. Not even the rich people do, so now that place is pretty deserted this year. This is "the country‘s got an inflation crisis and we‘re gonna milk the shit out of it“ pricing, not tourist pricing.
So, pro tip: If the price in TL sounds expensive converted into (currency you know), that’s because it IS expensive. Straight up. 25€/$ for a turkish pizza or any food are very much not normal, and neither is 10 bucks for a milkshake. This isn‘t Switzerland.
Don‘t got any souvenirs (unless you count clothes) but got some pictures of places!
AND FISH!!
(last one‘s a frög not a fish but for some reason the aquarium has a small amphibian section inside their rainforest water section)
#another anon ask#also:#new cafe wifi aquired!#looks like it‘s just my particular sim card being annoying lol

Tips for the girlies that are going to Turkey this summer 🇹🇷
1. Shopping in normal stores
As a girl that has been going to Turkey every summer since 2017 I can assure you that shopping is a big thing in Turkey. If you're in need of clothes definitely visit turkish malls and go for turkish brands like Cotton or LC Waikiki. This type of brands offer amazing quality for a really low price and I don't mean influencer cheap but rather just normal people cheap. Especially if you're in a need for basics in your wardrobe. And if you're going like me at the start of September you can get even cheaper clothes because almost every store has big piles of clothes on sale at this time. For underwear and swimwear there are amazing stores which offer amazing quality for cheap.
2. Shopping for fakes🫢
Trust me girls shops for fakes are every 10 meters and I am not joking. But there is a catch-always look out for the quality. Shopping for fakes in Turkey is a hit or miss thing, you can find amazing fakes and really bad quality ones. Not only that but you would be also mesmerized by how much fakes are there so here are some tips on how to prevent bad quality fakes and overbuying. Tip number 1 is to make a list of clothes that you actually want but don't want to spend that much money. I highly recommend doing one with pics so it can be easier. Tip 2 is to check videos for "fake vs real" and have reference pics so that you can compare the fakes and originals because sometimes those fakes look way too fake(coming from experience). Tip 3-don't buy fakes of too expensive items because trust me it's noticeable that it's fake just because of your background.
3. Food in all inclusive hotels
Food in all inclusive hotels is trust me everywhere at all times and you will definitely eat a lot and because of that you would be most likely bloated at half the vacation(dw everyone else is too) so bring your anti-bloat meds and oversize shirts. Last year I brought only crop tops and by the third day I was washing my oversized shirt in the bathroom sink. Be mindful and get only what you can eat because food waste is not cool.
4. Places to visit🧳
(Asian part of Turkey)
1. Bodrum🛳️🫧
2. Didim🫧⛱️
3. Apollon's temple in Didim🏛️
4. Miletus and Miletus's museum🏛️
5. Pammukkale🏛️🫧(bring a pair of swim suit, a bottle of suncream and comfortable shoes)
6. Ephesus🏛️
7. Cappadocia
If you have any questions leave them below so I can answer and I hope you can have an amazing time in Turkey🫶🏼🇹🇷.
8. Troya suit in Çanakkale
9. Mausoleum at halicarnassus🏛️
10. Bodrum castle
I go to the bar in the hotel I am staying at because there is usually alcohol and cocktails at all times and a disco at night so I can't really give good bars and nightclubs but heard that Medusa is not a bad one in Didim. 🪩🍸
If you have questions leave them below so I can answer and I am wishing you the best time in Turkey🇹🇷🫶🏼

Hirmi: 💔✂️🧣 Amytis: 🎸🎒 🥀 Bodrum: ❤️🎈🥩
hirmi
💔 (broken heart) - Who has your character hurt most? Physically or emotionally? How did it feel? Do they regret it?
good question for him bc so much of his story revolves around the pain he's caused other people or the pain they've caused him.
i'd say this is a tie between either his parents, or his ex-girlfriend yulia LOL. his parents are mostly very very disappointed in him. they feel like he's lazy, unmotivated and think he's taken advantage of them. hirmi deeply regrets this.
yulia loathes him. she feels he hurt her emotionally (bc he didn't take her side in a petty argument almost 100 yrs ago LMAO) and also physically (this one was an accident - his lemur gouged her eye out when she got too close to him). hirmi is at worst inconvenienced by her pettiness.
✂️ (scissors) - Has your character ever cut their own hair? What about someone else’s? How did it turn out?
absolutely not. he's taking his pretty little head to a stylist LOL.
i do think it would be incredibly funny if, during one of the many midlife crises he has, he did the classic "I NEED BANGS" and tried to cut them himself in a manic frenzy state. it probably turned out terrible and he regretted it 0.1 seconds later. actually this is canon now.
🧣(scarf) - What comforts your oc? Is it an item? An action? A person? Whatever it is, how any why does it comfort them?
his horrible horrible violent lemur of all things is his emotional support animal. unfortunately he latched on to her during the worst part of his life and uses her to process the death of his friend. in hirmi's eyes, she gives his friend's death meaning.
amytis
🎸 (electric guitar) - What’s your character’s music taste like? Do they have one or two artists they play on repeat or do they have a varied and eclectic collection of music? Do they like mainstream artists or prefer underground musicians? What genres do they enjoy?
amytis likes acoustics! i feel like she would have a collection of random, calming albums, from soft rock to instrumental guitar, and she would just have those playing in the background of her home as she goes about her day. she's also teaching herself acoustic guitar and ukulele. she's not very good at it, though.
🎒 (backpack) - What items does your oc usually carry? Do they have a bag or just keep everything in their pockets? Do they carry a lot or a little?
her coat has big pockets, so i can imagine she'd be able to fit most of her belongings in there! she'd carry the usual things like her phone, wallet, and keys. i think she would also have a small, cute bag she would bring out with her on occasion, where she would carry a comb or brush, a small compact mirror, and some flavored chapstick.
🥀 (wilted flower) - How does your character deal with stressful situations? Is their fear response fight, flight, freeze or fawn?
she is very bad with stress. her default response is fawn. she tends to be braver in a group, and may opt for fight if her besties are alongside her.
bodrum
❤️ (heart) - Who is the most important person to your character? To what lengths would they go to protect this person?
if you asked him out loud, he would say alekah. secretly, it's definitely amytis. as he spends more time with amytis, she gets very good at twisting his arm. he would do just about anything for her, except die for her. i don't think he would die for anyone.
🎈 (balloon) - What does your character do at parties? Are they a wallflower or a party animal? Do they go with friends or alone?
bo would prefer to not go to parties at all. if he's there, it's because his friends dragged him along. he pretends to socialize for 30 minutes and then wanders off to find a quiet corner or sit outside.
🥩 (steak) - Does your oc have any coping mechanisms? Healthy or unhealthy?
the fact that the designated emoji for this question is a steak of all things is cracking me up. anyways, he does have coping mechanisms.
the unhealthy ways are either 1.) stress eating loads of processed sugar or 2.) taking it out on the people around him. he relies on 2 a lot during the beginning of his story/arc.
as he grows closer to amytis, he begins to rely on her support to cope with his stress. since they're moirails i guess i would consider this healthy for their culture??

The Looping Arcs of Time
The threads of all things, The looping arcs of time, Here, at the beginning of one, the middle of another; a finite expanse of consciousness, a tenuous expanse of what we are, an infinite expanse of everything else; all objects approach and relent all in motion.
You and I with but a little energy, like the sail of a ship in a storm, to guide our trajectory or to fool ourselves into believing that we might. What do we hold on to? And how do we position the sail? What risks sinking the ship? And what risks making the journey meaningless?
Your face, and the way you smell the transmission from your palms your fingertips and my mouth on your neck and all the beginnings of poems I cannot complete.
There are maybe seven shades of blue and purple in the night sky. One shade of amber in the city streets at night like a weak, steady fire like a cold candle like a hue on your skin a mood on a moment to vanish with the sunrise and the rush of everything we do to leave home. There are maybe four deep feelings in the dwindling of my youth. There are less than three reasons to get out of bed, but even fewer to stay in it when you aren’t there and I am in the middle of deferring this adventure.
Somewhere, the winter is ending, and perhaps soon it will end here too. Though I am rich, my hands are empty. I cannot give to you the wisdom of a decade of famine, of a river that has almost run dry, of a hundred miles of forest lined with barren trees, of the years that pass without saying goodbye.
The sun is still weak in the South, and the hills are still littered with empty white promises waiting to be fulfilled. Home is all around me but sleep is a thousand miles away. I am at the place I predicted but couldn’t plan for and I am exhausted from all these beginnings, injured from stretching my hands.
The birds who came to this place too early are singing a song that only I will hear. Soon they will surrender, and all things will wait for this season to be born in its perfection.
April 2023, in Bodrum.

Türkiye manners at the table
Türkiye is full of unique peculiarities that people need to see at least once in their life. Its monuments, parks, Mediterranean beaches, food and traditions make of this country a nice-looking place to visit. However, there are some things to take in consideration, referring specially to mealtime, to make your stay in Türkiye more comfortable.
5 tips when it comes to eating:
Arrive on time
If someone invites you to a meal, you have to make sure you will arrive on time. It is disrespectful for you to keep them waiting.
Greet elderly people first
It is courteous to greet elderly people first, so you will look thoughtful. If you can, you could arrive with some flowers or chocolates to be kinder.
Smoke while eating is completely normal
In some cultures, it can be inappropriate to smoke when you are in restaurants of some kind or in closed spaces, but in Türkiye is pretty common to do so.
Pork is not common
Maybe you can find pork in some international markets, but in general people interpret the pork as it is in the Coran, where the animal is dirty.
Use your hands properly
While you eating, you have to use the knife in the right hand and the fork in the left hand. For them, the left hand is not used to eat, to greet or for any social reason, this because it is considered an impure hand. So this one should be used only for personal hygiene.
The requests can change depending on the location you visit. In some conservative places there are even things to avoid when it refers to clothing. But in other places where is visible more affluence of tourists, especially in Mediterranean beaches or beaches of the Aegean coast as Bodrum or Kaputas are, Türkiye society is more flexible.

"I guess what are you so afraid of?" He asked softly, having never been one to have a problem calling someone out. But, then again, he supposed that was the difference between the two of them. She cared about people and about what they thought of her. While, he had given up caring a long time ago. "I guess I never viewed defending oneself as confrontational, but what do I know," He said, slipping his hands into his front pockets as he offered her up a shrug.
"Evet," He nodded, responding in Turkish as he lifted a brow up at her in confusion as to why that was such a surprising thing to say. "I've been to a lot of places. Why? Is that surprising? And ah. Well, I liked Istanbul. The food was good. Really good actually. Bodrum was nice too. A bit more of a touristy feel though. As a human?" His brows scrunched once more. "Why's that?" He asked, not sure why a family of werewolves would approve of humans of all things, not that he was the typical human either given that everyone in his family were witches. "You weren't wasting my time, but okay then," He said, pulling himself up to his feet. Only at the mention of party games was a groan illicit from his mouth. "Do I look like someone who partakes in party games to you? Yeah, well, it wasn't that late when I was-" His words caught in his throat. Was jumped. Choosing not to finish the sentence, instead, he cleared his throat and gave her a stiff nod. "Got it. I'll get out of your hair then. Get home safe," He muttered under his breath as he turned to start heading back down to the barbecue, only glancing back once as he did. His dark eyes sending a warning to be careful as though the town was hardly as safe as it seemed.
Aysun pressed her lips together for a moment, contemplating the question. The truth was, she didn't know why. It wasn't even the first time her meek personality became a topic of discussion, only the last time it'd come in the form of the nurses at her old job gossiping about how weird she was in the break room when they thought she was out of earshot. She didn't stand up for herself then either. At least Song posed his question to her face and didn't make it seem like an insult. "I...really don't know. I think it's just...how I am? It's just...scary I guess. Calling someone out. It's easier to just...walk away. I'm not a confrontational person."
"You've been to Istanbul?" she asked, surprise colouring her features as she turned towards him once more, a welcome change in subject, "how did you like it? It may sound surprising, but I've never been anywhere in Turkey other than the town I was born and raised in." It'd always been a dream though, to go back to her home country, simply to visit all the lovely places people raved about. It was almost embarrassing to be Turkish and not have those experiences, but she could only hope that she'd be able to remedy that. One day. At the poke Aysun couldn't help but giggle, a soft sound quickly lost in the wind. "Actually...as a human you might be one of the few people my family would approve of," she admitted with a little laugh, though she didn't bother pointing out that they'd probably be critical for other reasons. Luckily all her family members were far, far away. "Yes, you should, I've wasted enough of your time," she joked, pulling her knit cardigan tighter around herself as she got to her feet. If she was being entirely honest, she didn't want to leave him just yet, but she had this recurring feeling of guilt over their conversations always turning deep and emotional- he probably had better things to do. More fun things at the very least, they were a party for Gods' sake. "Oh no, you should get back to the festivities, it looks like they're breaking out the party games," she said, just as loud whoops and cheers sounded from where the majority of the group were gathered, "it's not that late, I'm just going to walk, you go ahead."

Blog 10- CMS/PL 348
Emily Regan Wills 'Alan Kurdi's Body on the Shore'
The paper explores the impact of the viral photograph of Alan Kurdi, a Syrian refugee child only 3 years old whose body was washed up on the coast of Bodrum in 2015 after attempting to cross from Turkey to Greece. The author reflects on the differences in normative attitudes towards photographs of the dead in the Western world versus the Arab world and how the photograph's music resonates with her, shaping her work as a political scientist studying terrible things.
The Western world and the Arab world are significantly different from one another. The Arab world celebrates a person's death and embraces it, whereas the West is highly reserved and conservative. The child's portrait raised immediate material repercussions in addition to generating conversation and attention online. The images of Alan Kurdi on the beach gave the cost of unauthorized and conflict-driven migration and the Syrian refugee crisis in general reality and meaning for many people. The article also touches on the concept of humane insight and how it motivates action toward justice for those like Alan Kurdi, because due to the spread of the photos then other nations opine their door toward the immigrant people more presently. Every mother was affected by this loss because they reflected on the loss of a child.
The author also discusses their relationship with Alan Kurdi personally and how the melody of the image has influenced their job as political scientists investigating horrible things. Due to changes in society, there are now different standards for taking photos of the dead. In the 1800s, memorial photographs of lost family members were commonplace. They still exist in a limited way now because of photography of stillborn children. According to modern Western photographic conventions, taking pictures of dead people is a violation of their and their family members' privacy. On the other hand, Arabs would embrace the body of the dead people, because as Emily Regan Wills, mentions not all deaths are treated the same way, so for Arabs when someone died at the hand of an enemy is bravery. The history of photojournalism has revolved around documenting the war dead. For example during the Gulf War, the photographer Kenneth Jarecke photographed this soldier burned and he said that “If I don’t photograph this, people like my mom will think war is what they see on TV”. The title of the picture is named “Death of an Iraqi Soldier”.
Picture of children is always portrayed to be nice and cute. Picture from the Syrian war, or that is how the Western could portrait because you see them so fragile and innocent.
Enrico De Angelis 'The Controversial Archive: Negotiating Horror Images in Syria' in Della Ratta, Dickinson, Haugbolle
The article "The Controversial Archive: Negotiating Horror Images in Syria" by Enrico De Angelis explores the production and consumption of horror images in Syria, which focus on violence against individuals. The images are mostly produced by freelance or citizen journalists who often do not receive recognition.
The conversation about how to handle violent images is restricted by ethical and tactical issues. Large-scale video production during the Syrian conflict has led to the establishment of a "controversial archive," with many "interpretive communities" growing around it, making it challenging to come to firm agreements. These communities are vibrant, and the interactions among the members support ongoing conversation. In order to learn more about how Syrian photographers, media activists, and writers handle horror imagery and take into account the media, political, and social contexts, De Angelis conducts conversations with them. The author also looks at how Syrians interpret and respond to the seeming failure of the horror film industry.
According to the author, the Syrian revolt was one of the most extensively photographed global events ever. There is a significant amount of online media coverage of it. All of this online creation is referred to by the author as the "controversial archive." Immediately following the chemical assault, Adham al-Hussein captured images that quickly went viral. The photographs, according to President Trump, were the primary impetus behind their subsequent attack on a Syrian military airport. The identities of the photos and the victims frequently vanish when they are published on social media since the information spreads so quickly and there are so many photos or films on the internet. Thus explains why these images are referred to as "orphan images". Some critics feel that these images pointlessly degrade victims. Others suggest using them as "horror images" as a foundation to challenge prevailing frames of perception.
A lot of Syrian pictures are also about young and child pictures, remaining with no family, and I believe this is also the horrible part of the photos. The photo of this Little boy in Aleppo is a vivid reminder of war’s horror.
However, on the other hand, these photos are showing sometimes the reality of war and how those who mostly suffer are children. They are the victims. Ali Atassi's counterargument, according to which horror images should only be accumulated in secret, organized archives and not posted on social media. Photos of Syrian casualties are allegedly being used by the dominant vision system for purposes other than those for which they were intended. In the West, where they are consumed carelessly, the vast majority of images showing the torture and slander of Syrian bodies are in circulation. Critics question whether the dissemination of those images adds to the social construction of Syrians as second-class citizens of the international community. Society should comprehend and recognize the reality of human cruelty in the twenty-first century.

bodrum - betrayal, break, failure amytis - desire, fear, ghost
bodrum
betrayal: Has your OC ever been betrayed by someone they thought they could trust? Has your OC ever betrayed someone who trusted them?
not solely bo, i realize, but their whole group was betrayed by the past/present day versions of one of their exiles. bo is obviously included in this. alekah was the closest to this particular exile, so it didn't hit bo terribly hard. otherwise, i can't think of any betrayals on his end! you could argue his poor treatment of amytis early on in their relationship was a betrayal, but i think it's a stretch. that was more of a miscommunication/misunderstanding with no intended ill-will. they worked it out it's fine lmao.
break: What would cause your OC to break down completely? What do they look like when that happens? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest?
tbh. bo's version of a breakdown would be letting his violent highblood side take the wheel. he's VERY good at keeping a mask and keeping his composure. it's also rly important to him to Keep Up The Facade. at the end of his rope he would let the inner highblood out, and that would really show how little regard he has for his reputation and what little he has to lose. to get to this point i think he would have to be VERY very angry, possibly using his rage to fuel a vengeance quest on behalf of a hurt/captured/killed loved one.
failure: What’s your OC’s greatest failure? Have they been able to move past it? Does anyone else know about it?
one time he asked paatni out (blackrom) and she said no. normal teen woes! he hopes no one knows about it (no one knows about it - paatni wants to forget it happened at all).
amytis
desire: What’s one thing your OC wants more than anything in the world? Are they open with that desire? Why or why not? What would they do to fulfill it?
i would say to find some confidence and self-worth. she's not so vocal about her self-esteem issues (she's embarrassed about it, honestly). thankfully her journey and title in the game help her to reach that point! she doesn't take intentional actions to find it. honestly, she kind of stumbles upon some revelations accidentally after interacting with the creatures in her game.
fear: What is your OC’s greatest fear? What do they do when confronted with it? Are they open with their fear, or do they hide it away?
being left behind and forgotten, i think. it ties back into those self-esteem issues. unfortunately for her she was VERY confronted with it, lol! by both bodrum (accidentally. classic misunderstanding!) and heykel. her first response is usually a gut emotional outburst that leaves her feeling horrible. then she feels embarrassed. she also tries to hide this fear, so whenever she reacts very strongly and negatively to it, especially publicly where others can see, she feels silly and wants to hide away for a while.
ghost: Who or what haunts your OC? What happened? How do they live with their ghosts?
all of her exes (heykel). i could post all 120+ pages of the tackle fanfic for context but that would be so much. basically he used her for collateral and then dumped her. thanks heykel! he makes enemies left and right. she lives with it by talking about it to her friends, her beloved moirail, and knowing everyone in her immediate circle sides with her on the matter and not with heykel. at least she feels validated LOL.
#oc stuff#lets t-a-l-k-a-b-o-u-t about ocs#its missing the tackle fanfiction hours! again!#i reread it last year and tbh it still slaps#the writing style is a little outdated for me so id like to make some edits#ive been wanting to edit and revamp it for a looong time#on a side note neb i love how you ALWAYS send me gravegarden themed asks without fail#looking DIRECTLY at ghost for amytis#ugh... i love them#the most moirails of all squeaky fantroll cinematic universe-time#MAYBE even more moirails than darvtaf. maybe.#the fact that they dont break up sure puts them in the running LMAO -is shot by both darrvi and taffel point blank-

Trust was a fickle thing, even more so when it came to her hair. "It's not that I don't trust them," she paused, neck craning ever so slightly as she looked over the woman she'd only just met, "but I'd like to start with you. If your schedule allows." Her fingers brushed absentmindedly against the cooled glass, leaving beads of water falling to the wooden surface beneath. Even if it pushed her own schedule back, she'd wait.
The model's smile widened in acceptance of the challenge. She too had the time, seeing as the only thing awaited her at home were half unpacked boxes and rooms that needed finished. "I've lived in Istanbul, Antalya, Bodrum, and Izmir. My parents traveled a lot and wherever the job was, we moved. And that's just the start."
There were short periods of time where her parents had traveled out of the Country, dragging her alongside them for weeks at a time. It was never long enough to call any place home, but it seemed easy to name places she hadn't lived. "My first time in the States was when I was nine. We were in New York City for a few months and after that, we always found our way back." Aksel tipped back her glass, washing away the lonely memories of every penthouse her parents had left her in while they continued their travels. "What kind of place do you want to retire in?"
"You should be able to book something for this week -- if not with me, the rest of the team are equally as talented," Julie said. Aksel's excitement was endearing; there was always some trepidation talking about the salon to those from big cities. Julie knew she and the rest of the team were talented and would have made it anywhere, but there was always the worry that someone new would hear 'beauty salon' and expect a level of talent reflective of the 80s.
Yet, even if it was alcohol that revealed the model's excitement, Julie did believe that the drunk man's words were the sober man's thoughts. She happily sipped on her drink, her own grin blooming around her thin straw. Aksel was interesting in a way that didn't feel like vanity. It was a rare balance, but it was one that Julie could gravitate towards. "From one boss to another, I got time if you do, so state and country," Julie said. "One day I plan on retiring somewhere -- I need all the inspiration I can get."
