I think daisuki was used as plausible deniability because of the risk of having a male character saying 'aishiteru' to another male character earning the series a Shonen-ai label

I also think it's used to show that it's current Alma, not past!Alma speaking in his final moments.

Kanda was also the one to say "I love you (forever)" to past!Alma which, to me, comes with the implication that he loves Alma in any form. Not to mention the lingering effects Alma's death had on him, especially in 247.

Does Kanda love Alma?

I've seen a lot of ppl with different opinions on this. When I first watched dgm I always thought he DID love Alma. But some ppl have said that Alma did love Kanda but not the other way around bc he didnt say "I love you" back to Alma when Alma died instead he said "yeah". Plus in the anime Lenalee said "you were finally able to be together with the person you care about the most" instead of love most 🤔

And also about Alma: he said "daisuki" instead of "aishiteru" which I found a bit weird bc Kanda when he remembered a memory of the past he said "aishiteru tsuto" and since aishiteru is considered the highest form of love confession I got confused. I would expect him to say aishiteru given the fact that I believe he remembers his past self.

Do you guys think Kandas and Almas feelings towards each other are mutual and that they love each other regardless of their past selfes?
