Religious Nicky Hemmick means the world to me.

Growing up in a place where religion was all encompassing. Grace before dinner. A prayer hung above the front door. The crosses hung in every room.

The way hes named after a saint himself.

Nicky has a small necklace practically welded around his neck, a small charm of Saint Jude dangling from it halfway down his breast bone.

His mom had lit the Jude mantle candle the night her and his father and sent him to conversation therapy, murmuring against the side of Nickys head that it was to fix him, that Saint Jude was there for healing, that Saint Jude would cure him.

He hadnt been able to look at the candle on the mantle when he came home and clearly his parents thought therapy worked with the way it hadnt been lit again since he’d gotten home.

He hadnt cared about his namesake until he took custody of his cousins. Snorting to himself the first night they’d spent in Columbia, “the patron saint of children” the web search read back to him.

He doesnt pressure the twins to go to church with him, but he still ducks into the small local church on the corner each sunday morning. Sits at the pew in the back and gets a soft smile from the priest each time he softly requests just a blessing in place of the communion.

He swings by the grocery store on the way home to pick up muffins for the twins each time.

Slides into his bedroom after and lights a flame of a Saint Clotilde candle on his desk. A short prayer to ask for her help with his…adopted children in a way. For her aid in his sudden parental role hes allowed himself to fall into.

He tries to never make it a big deal, doesnt make the twins say grace before dinner, but he whispers his own prayer in the kitchen before he sets the table each night.

They go to PSU and runs into Renee at the local church down the road, its a different denomination than either of them are used to and they sit together each week. Eventually they start walking over together, Renee waiting for him at his dorm before they start the quick walk over, talking along the way about any and everything.

On the way back they talk about the scripture they discussed today in church. They talk about how this priests interpretation differs from past priests theyve had, how they like this aspect and how it related to their lives and experiences.

•the shepards dont get a tree, but the curtis’ kinda do???certainly not a big tree, but A tree regardless, maybe its just one of those tree ls that sit outside their house that they decorated

•the shepards r forced to go to church by their mom😭

•curly and angela were those kids who fucked w the nativity scene, tim knew but was too tired to rlly care and he found it a lil funny at times

•like barely of them have a scarf, so many of em have gotten a cold for sure

•they all prefer warm christmas, to them all white christmas is just dead, even for the ones that dont particularly love christmas, its either u go for a warm and colorful christmas or else ur just being extra annoying

HI im late because i never really check tumblr, and i dont know how to do asks in general so i hope this works, but im taking a small break from drawing rn, HOWEVER i will give you this brainrot that turned out to be longer than i expected but i need to yap

an kronfau parents, baby ame au where maybe ame is very ""isolated"" from her peers (probably due to being constantly dirty and having a fascination with small living creatures and being a completely yapper over them(takes after fauna)), so shes used to playing by herself

you didnt specify what type of age cece would have, so im choosing to imagine she appears to be a few years older than ame (spoiler: kronii learns mechanics and always fixes cece up so she also ages with ame, but thats later on)

but maybe kfa moves to a secluded area because they are not made for the city (no matter how much kronii wishes they were), but fauna's happy because at least theres a cottage, and ame's happy because they live near a creek which means DIRT! AND BUGS! AND SNAKES- (and kronfau has a heart attack the first time ame brings one in)

but theyve gotten a little used to ame bringing in lots of creatures (which she eventually has to say bye bye to on the porch because kf is NOT hosting bugs in this home)

however, one day ame is following maybe a tiny spider and ventures off a little more than she's used to, narrating her whole journey, maybe like-

Mama said not to go too far without permission! BUT- she didn't specify who's! [in a high voice] "Ame, can i have YOUR permission to go off beyond the river? (a one foot wide stream of water)" [in a deep voice] "Why, yes Ame! But only if you bring back something fun in return!" [normal voice] "Well, if you say so!" and she skips along and splashes through the puddles

of course, the creek looks the same (but ame NEVER gets lost! right...?), and maybe ame shouldn't have lost track of the (tiny) river, but uh, its fine! eventually mama fauna will call out to her and she'll use her voice to come back home-

and then she trips on a rock.

but then its a very weird rock. like.. weeeiiiiirrd. like. a leg- OH MY GOD

oh no need to worry, its still attached to its person- OH MY GOD

ame probably hides behind a tree or something but after nothing happens, she decides to grab a stick and poke the person. still, nothing happens, so ame decides, yup! thats safe! and inspects it, and what do yknow? this person has "one of em windy- thingies" on their head, and ame knows what to do with that!

so she ends up carefully grabbing it, and then twisting it! or trying. but it doesnt budge. so ame thinks-

"Mum's super strong. What does she do before lifting heavy things...?" And she widens her stance- "ALL IN THE LEGS BABY-"

and the key finally budges and ame falls onto the person's lap. and when she looks up, the thing looks back at her and- OH MY GOD!!!

and ame introduces herself and the robot asks her if she could wind her more, but ame says its too heavy (she tries again, to no avail), but she knows someone SUPER strong!! (mum kronii, of course), and they can ask her for help!

"Where is she then?" "...Good question!"

but ame knows because ame NEVER gets lost and ... ames lost. but its okay! because right on time, fauna starts calling out for ame. however, it sounds like the voice is coming all around them, and.. it appears ame's plan is falling apart. but ame doesn't panic! she NEVER panics! especially when its gonna get dark soon, and ame's afraid of the dark, and shes all alone in this big forest creek whatever-

but she's not alone.

and when this strange person robot windy toy asks if ame is trying to find the voice, ame says yes, because her moms taught her to not lie (and she doesnt feel like lying right now).

so, moss peels away, cobwebs fall apart, and leaves rustle towards the ground - and ame's friend stands up.

next thing you know, kronii's getting ready to go out into the creek because fauna's getting worried that ame hasn't showed up, until ame calls out-

"MAMA! LOOK WHAT I FOUND!" "Oh, thank goodness, my heart- ... Amelia. What is that." and uh oh! fauna told ame to try and not get dirty today! (she says that everyday, but whos keeping track) but still, ame can't really lie in this scenario, so- "Mud!!"

and kronii and fauna just stare at this robot girl because. what. the fuck.

"Kronii! No cursing!" "I THINK THIS ONCE I SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO."

and wouldn't you know it. kronfau adopts another daughter.

you always called him 'iyong pinakaminamahal', 'aking pinakaguwapong jowa', and... so many other terms of endearment in your native language or dialect. peter adored you so, so much, and it frustrated him he could never understand right away what you called him. he was unfamiliar with a lot of the terms in the language you spoke, and though he was more than willing to learn all that you spoke to him, you were always quite the tease.

whenever he asked you what you meant by those words you spoke in sweet, loving tones to him, you always smirked and pressed your finger to your lips with a slight giggle or wink. "di ko sasabihin..." you'd tease him as he'd chuckle along with you, though with small undertones of annoyance at how he could never really get back at you with expressing his love for you in a language you didn't understand.

luckily, though, noir could always depend on learning your native tongue from the younger kids he knew down your street. whenever he'd greet them, they would usually be talking to each other--giggling or screaming--and he'd pick up the slang and words from them. one word he was taught by some of the older kids was one that always brought smiles and laughter from the other kids, especially after a fight. he asked what it meant, and it apparently meant 'i'm beyond attracted to you, you're the only one for me.'

"and to believe i only have to say these three words...? wow, what a powerful phrase." he murmured to himself as he gently wrapped his arms around you from behind, nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck. general

- you cannot tell me they all dont get into tickle fights all the damn time

- as a welcome gift for kai becoming part of the team, the three ganged up and tickled him (all of them made sure he was fine with it first, asking what he thought about tickles and kai just turned bright red)

- theyve turned saturdays to their annual tickle fight competition, where they all gather in the room and see who can last the longest without tapping out

- (winner gets to skip out on chores for the entire week, but typically gets tickled the most throughout it because everyone is a sore loser LFMAO)

- casual cuddle nights where it always somehow turns into tickling. idfk at least one of them decides to start something, let it be accidental or not one of them tickles another then suddenly its a pile of lego men laughing

- like theyre so close to falling asleep but cole decides theyre not sleeping and slowly claws along jays tummy waking everyone up with a screech

- suddenly the two are in this mosh pit of a tickle fight while zane and kai are groaning about how they just want to sleep

- but eventually they do get dragged into it farewell zzs 😞😞

- was flabbergasted when he saw how physically close everyone was with each other

- not just the constant tickle fights, but hugs, cuddles and occasional kisses theyd give

- like the three would be so touchy with kai like, hugging and inviting him over to cuddle with them but kai would get so flustered hed just. quickly spit out some things and run

- they all didnt want him to feel uncomfortable so they never pushed, so when kai did willingly join them at some point cole got wayy too hyper he went crazy peppering kais neck n ears with kisses just to hear kai shriek

- then things really turned forward

- is the biggest blusher omfg its so cute

- panicked, boisterous laughter while making multiple attempts to hide his face hes so blushy

- of course the ninja didnt let him hide his face, they once trapped kai in a cuddle hug with his arms trapped under two of them, while at the same time all were giving him tickly kisses

- with kai in this position he wias so fucking red lmdao they love him too much

- cant take tickle kisses, nibbles or gnaws for the life of him omfg

- which all the ninjas know and take complete advantage of

- they not only tickle really bad but get him super red at the same time bonus bonus

- has to be super careful when cuddling with cole because one time he trapped kai in this monster lock hug from the front and nuzzled his tummy with kisses and nibbles

- kai never recovered from this he was screaming so loud

- stubborn and cocky, so everyone likes taking him down a peg by melting him into a puddle of giggles

- hes super susceptible to slow teases + tickles

- aggressive tickles are ones to get him howling, but the gentle ones drive him crazy

- in reference to what i said earlier, monster lock hug from cole. then slow, wiggly fingers grazing along his hips was enough for kai that day

- he couldnt do anything but slap on coles shoulder, make several attempts to hide his face and made these funky unintelligible grumbles

- and to make it worse, cole was monstrous with the compliment + teasing combo

- never recovered from this

- didnt even know this but he has horribly sensitive feet as well

- bruggghh who let him decide it would be a good idea to provoke zane by poking him with his dogs

- kai did and hes stupid

- zane didnt even blink when he grabbed kais ankle and proceeded to tickle the daylights out if his sole until the others rushed in confused

- i dont think i talked about his hips but yeah. genuinely terrible spot for him. i dont even feel bad hes a little loser

- once again. screaming when jay decided it would be fun to pin kai down and squeeze his hips like no tomorrow

- nearly bust kais eardrums when he snuck up and tickled jay for the first time

- yet kai still does it because he finds the whole situation fucking hilarious

- chasing or any sort of anticipation gets him SO bad

- jay despises it when cole decides to chase him because he is SO jumpy and frantic and literally cannot deal with the anticipation

- like he'll be dashing around but be much more giddy than usual because. adrenaline.

- cole would be trying to make the air much more tense with teases while hunting him down, but jay literally yells throughout giggles for him to stop LMFAO

- "when i catch you, im going to-"

- "STOHOP NO NO NOO YOU WONT!!"

- its his immediate death spot, he'll be scream laughing right away

- cole decided it would be fun to nom on his belly and jay died

- even zane joined in on the fun, making cole hold jays arms above his head to allow zane to slowly claw his cold hands along jays skin

- bro was SO loud and frantic shaking his head like crazy he basically shook the entire room

- he also remembers how kai walked in on this entire scene happening, took one look and immediately walked right out

- jay got him afterwards for leaving him in the dust

- big unintentional thrasher

- hes probably given wayy too many injuries to everyone unintentionally LFMAO

- kicked kai in the stomach once, smacked cole in the face and elbowed zane in the shoulder

- probably laughed harder at this happening than being tickled

- even gets sparks of lightning that shoot out his hands when hes laughing

- they can come in waves either being strong or weak, but either way when it hits his ler, it tickles

- jay loves when this happens and would purposely aim his hands towards the spots of whoevers tickling him

- which is why all the ninja have learned its best to pin at least a hand over jays head before wrecking him

- also has extremely high pitched panicked giggles that they all find extremely endearing muahmfuah

- like his voice will go so high pitched they all call him the squeaky toy

- used to be a little bit insecure about his laugh because he thought it was weird when hed squeak

- but all the compliments and sweet teases say otherwise so jay shuts up when hes about to say something negative about his laugh

- everyone hates him for this because 1. theyre salty they cant use their powers for this intent and 2. it tickles like crazy

- uses this specifically for poking/ tazing people with his powers or just grabbing at ribs

- jay tickled cole so bad with his tazes once and cole in return gave jay one of the most intense chases hes ever had in his life

- like full blown tickle monster chasing after a banshee

- also found out zane is the most susceptible to his tazes because they affect him much more than normal tickles

- and WILL take that to his advantage because when jay does use his powers, zane is scream thrashing which he almost never does

- hes also pretty big on anticipation because he knows how bad it gets him so he just has to do it to the others

- coos and laughs along with who hes tickling because he finds it super silly and sweet

- looves squeezing because he feeds on seeing the person hes tickling thrashing around while hes just having a good time

- literally always the first one to start any tickle fights

- has a really soft, breathy laugh that the others swoon on

- when you get one of his bad spots, he'll glitch a bit along with a high pitched squeak, but it wont hurt him

- he'll also uncharacteristically thrash and squirm!!!! gets more frantic n giggly which everyone loves

- in a way his little glitch like a high pitched squeak/snort that makes zanes movements much more reactive, like he'll gently push at hands and slowly try to slink away

- the first time this happened everyone freaked out and zane had to reassure that he was okay and just another way of laughing when things get a bit hysterical

- now they all think its the cutest thing ever and tickle him just so they can hear his laughter and his little squeaks

- all the ninja are SO soft about it too, always checking in to see if anything may be too overwhelming for zane as its a completely new sensation

- he is fine, he likes having this little bonding moment w them

- jay bullies him a lot solely because his electricity has been by far one of the most effective ways of getting zane to crumple to the ground

- zane is known to kind of just let out his little breathy laughs and squirm a bit, which is why it was incredibly surprising to both parties when jay snuck up behind him, tased his ribs and the next second zane barked out a laugh and fell down LMFAO

- they both looked at each other for a second before cackling because it was funny, then the next it was a whole different type of laughter because jay did it again but with full on tickles

- also has very sensitive ears and hands!!!! jumped a mile high when cole decided it would be a good idea to breathe down his neck and the story ends there LDMAO

- actually used to be. pretty neutral about tickling until it became a daily bonding activity hed do with the others

- tickling makes him feel more human as well and acts as a comfort to him that he knows he can be tickled just like the ninja can

- was actually worried at first he wouldnt be ticklish but cole was not taking that and did his silly little experiment and now :]]]]

- AND didnt know he could be this panicked and flustered while being tickled, because his system never really had to experience this type of emotion before but he liked it a lot

- zane had him pinned and jay saw him prepping to turn the feature on and he was SCREAMING before it even started LMFAOO

- he picks on everyone when they least expect it because when his attacks happen, theyre brutal

- like once jay wrecked the absolute living shit out of zane

- and in casual zane style he let jay be on his toes for a week expecting revenge

- buut forgot about it afterwards and let his guard down

- which is when zane casually just walked up behind jay when he was talking to nya, scoops him up and takes him away for sweet sweet revenge

- jay didnt even know it was revenge until zane pinned him down and pulled his shirt up to reveal his tummy then immediately began to screech

- likes 'chasing' kai and shoving his hands under his shirt with his reasoning being "my system needs a warmup"

- they both know its bullshit so it just turns into this overdramatic chase around the room where kai is SPRINTING while zane is casually walking towards him because he knows he'll catch him

- in the end zane always catches him one way or another and wiggles his fingers where its nice and cozy

- gets kai the worst because of this sole reason,, the icy hands just make him much more sensitive to zanes tickles

- super brutally honest with his teases

- its not even teases its literally just him pointing out the obvious yet everyone seems to??? hate it more when its the truth?????

- never really understood it when each time hed do this theyd tell him to shut up but at the same time he found it really amusing

- solely because it would make their reactions even more sillier and he found it v endearing

- zane literally unprovoked and out of nowhere sneaks up behind him and claws at coles ribs making him let out one of the loudest shrieks everyones heard

- mind you this was when they were all casually chatting in their rooms

- theres like a moment of silence for everyone to process this until its absolute chaos

- jay is screaming "YOU LIAR" while kai wrestles cole to the ground with zane whos smirking at the situation unfold

- has ridiculously ticklish thighs that no one knew about until jay was being a little silly and ran his fingers along coles inner thigh

- the two were lounging on the couch with cole who had one of his legs on jay just for that to happen and nearly kneed him in the face

- jay immediately gasped in shock and started laughing, gave a few more squeezes up on his thigh until cole pounced

When the government sends in 7 of their best men to infiltrate the organization. What will they do when their cover is blown and their true intentions are revealed? Will they join the rebellion or will they continue to let the government pull their strings like the little puppets they once were?

Skylar district May october 23rd 2064

4 months had passed since the success of the rebellion but their work still hadn't been done. Now that the city knew about Sector 1 they would come to them for all their needs and the organization was more than happy to provide. The last four months had been pretty busy, with them reconstructing the city and now building another Sector hq in the city square to keep them all more in touch with the residents of the city. They had gotten so caught up in the things going on outside of hq that for a long while Yeosang barely even had any time to work out the situation with the microbots and assure they'd be okay to use.

"Hey mom, dad it's Tahani...I haven't exactly been the best of daughter now have I." Tahani sniffles as she stares at her parents' tombstones that were both decorated in wilted flowers.

"I know I haven't visited you since that day but I think I'm ready now. To talk about it all. For the longest time after I lost you two I blamed myself. For running away and joining the organization without so much as a goodbye to you guys or the others. For a while I kept telling myself it was all on me, all because I decided to jump into something without thinking I lost all of you. But I think I'm past that now. I realize that I can't keep blaming myself because there was no way I could have known. I was simply doing what I felt was right, doing what's best for my family. And because of that I met some of the most amazing people." She laughed through the tears as she thought about all those she had met lost along the way.

"I've met one of the most amazing men I've ever come across and I get to call him mine. Ive met the best of friends...amazing people who I look too as a family, though they can never replace any of you. And yeah, it still upsets me that i can't exactly live the life i thought i'd be living if we succeeded with the mission, but because of the rebellion every day this city gets better and better. I just wish you were here to see it." Removing the wilted flowers from each of her family's tombstones she replaced them with fresh ones before taking one last glance at each of them. Upon making her way back to hq she decided to take her time. She wanted to take in the new city for the first time. See all that they had rebuilt together. With Eden gone her home truly was a giant ball of starlight. Noticing that a few rain clouds came rolling in Tahani sighs before rushing off into the city in order to beat the rain

"Are you sure it works Yeosang, maybe we should hold off longer if something goes wrong." Hongjoong paced the floor of the living quarters as they waited for Tahani to return.

"Hongjoong i've literally tested on Yeonjun and Dino and it worked fine, just relax."

"He's right cruella, both operations went by smoothly just to calm down and leave it to us." Eris adds on as she takes a seat right next to Yeosang on the arm of his chair.

"How long will you call him that?" San asks before laughing and the girl just shrugs her shoulders.

"How long will he have that hair?" She asks, earning a sly grin from Yeosang who stealthily brought his arm around the girl's waist.

"Behave." Was all he needed to say for the girl to finally go silent

"Wait wait wait did I miss something here." Mingi eyes the two, a surprised look on his face.

"Mind your business Song Mingi." Was all Eris said before her words were repeated by none other than Yeosang

"Right, mind your business Song Mingi."

"I liked those two better when they were in the lab all the time." Mingi huffs, crossing his arms over his chest

"I'm back." Tahani enters the room moments later earning multiple greetings from her friends and a kiss from hongjoong.

"Ready for your checkup?" Eris sprung up from the couch followed by yeosang.

"Yup im ready to go doc." She responds in a cheerful tone before bidding the others a goodbye and giving hingjoong one more kiss before following the two of them out the door.

As always Yeosang and Eris connected all of the necessary wires and tubes to her body before carrying out their usual checkup scheme.

The only difference this time was Tahani was now going to get a much needed surgery that she knew nothing about.

"Yeosang can you look at this?" And their act finally began.

"What is it?" He asks as he makes his way over to the screen. Seeing how intently Yeosang looked at the screen, Tahani grew nervous.

"Uh something wrong?" She asks anxiously at her question both Yeosang and Eris share a look before looking back at Tahani.

"There's some type of flaw in your system, it may take a full reboot to get rid of it otherwise if it gets any worse it can cause some of your joints to lock up, if that happens this body will become just as useless as your old one would have been." Eris spoke seriously.

"Well if all it'll take is a reboot just get it done, I don't wanna risk whatever the flaw is getting any worse than it already is." At that both Yeosang and Eris low fived one another beneath the equipment table before making any moves.

"Alright it may take a couple of hours but it'll simply feel like you're just resting, taking a nap you know." After sedating her and putting her lower half in sleep mode Yeosang and Eris waited until they knew the girl was fully unconscious to start their work. It had taken hours for the microbots to fully regenerate the lost cells over her cyber mechanic exterior but by the time it had fully covered her outer shell the girl was still fast asleep due to the sidation. Eris and Yeosang decided it was best to let her rest.

Once again just as it had happened all those years ago Tahanis eyes fluttered open only to land on a ceiling of the Sector 1 infirmary. This time yet another thing was different about her body. As she pushed herself out of the bed still somewhat groggy from the previous sedation she stopped dead in her tracks once her eyes caught sight of a mirror out the corner of her eye. She was naked...and not like naked with her mechanical parts showing but actually naked. As her eyes took in the visual before her it felt like a dream. She hadn't seen herself this way in two years. The tears began to fall so effortlessly, and as she ran her fingers over her full flesh body she was surprised to feel her own touch. She could feel the warmth of her hands as they brushed against her small frame. Pulling the first thing she could find over her previously exposed body Tahani ended up walking out of the infirmary with a bed sheet wrapped around her from the chest on down. She quickly made her way down the halls, past the airlock, up the stairs and into the brand new hq building. Pushing past her very confused colleagues she sped up towards the building's staircase and ran all the way up to the building's rooftop.

Rain, she could feel the rain. As the cold droplets pelted her skin she stood staring out at the city allowing the sheet to soak up every drop of rain along with her tears. As the rooftop door slammed open Tahanis eyes shot over to Hongjoong who seemed somewhat startled by the girls appearance.

"Have you lost your damn mind running around in just this? I nearly choked Joshua to death when Leedo told me he'd been staring at you running through HQ in nothing but a damn sheet." Hongjoong nagged as he pulled one of his shirts over the girl's head, allowing her to drop the now soaked bed sheet.

She stares up at him with wandering eyes, feeling true happiness for the first time in such a long time.

"Umm...so I guess you saw, you can now go back to how things were before the ambush, I mean I know it may not be all you wanted because you still can't exactly have children but at least now you can." Cutting him off mid sentence she pulls him in by his shirt and kisses him before bringing her arms around his neck. His arms hooked around her waist and Tahani swore she couldn't have thought of a moment more perfect. She could feel it all, the cold rain trickling down their faces as they kissed, the warmth of his shirt and his body pressed against her bare skin. The way his arms around her waist caused the fabric to brush across her skin, she could finally feel it all.

"Its perfect, this is perfect." She smiles as they pull away from one another, still hugging him close to her body as her eyes scanned over their city and the setting sun.

actually wait i let the glenn and morgan thing simmer with me a bit and this kind of rules actually. like from a character standpoint for jodie anyway

like judging by the timeline, which like. from my guess its that morgan had a similar crisis that jodie has been for Years now abt how all the timeline bullshittery basically made their entire lives a lie, broke it off with him as a result, started adventuring with glenn as a kind of "fuck it lets go out and fight demons so i can take out all my emotions on them" sort of thing, they fell in love again over that period of time, meanwhile jodie was dating scam and after they had hermie scam ran off with hermie, leaving jodie alone in this Crisis he's having unable to connect with either of his families.

like. to me it kinda feels like jodie is rebounding onto morgan and blaming glenn for his problems. theyve never gotten along and glenn losing the trial in s1 caused the whole timeline shift in the first place. im not saying it IS glenns fault but you could totally see how jodie would think that, esp after glenn and morgan fall in love again. and right when he feels safe and secure and is ready to have a family he can more easily connect with, one he can say with Certainty is his, his partner steals their kid and runs away with him. he's probably trying to "get morgan back" now because he's desperately trying to cling to a time where everything was safe and normal and happy back on earth.

like this is probably not actually that deep and if this never gets addressed in podcast i WILL sound insane but you get me right. you get me. you understand.

still in utter bafflement that people thought as piasco was unfolding that oscar’s decision to go mclaren, a team that was on the upward trajectory ever since 2018, over renault works team, a known disaster class since pre-historic times, was a dumb move. wym?? people at that time did not have all the info about how alpine absolutely fumbled 2 contracts, on top of otmar controlling the narrative, throwing around words like “loyalty”, it would have still been a better decision, because it gave oscar the opportunity to prove himself against a highly rated driver like lando, instead of pierre whose record is not perfect. hell, had everything that alpine lied about around oscar was correct, meaning that say he was ghosting them after promising to drive, it still was the correct decision 😭

hmm. im not actually sure if i agree w you, because i don't think the difference between renault and mclaren was actually that cut and dry. when daniel moved from renault to mclaren in 2020 ppl called it a sideways move, and for good reason. since id say 2019 at least, mclaren and renault had been in the upper midfield and in direct competition with each other. 2022, the year of the piasco, alpine beat mclaren in the wcc (mostly bc of daniel shitting the absolute bed, but still). the length of time since theyve been successful was kind of equivalent (renault's last wdc is 2006, mclaren's is 2008), and arguably renault hadnt recently had a period of such despairing backmarker incompetence as mclaren had circa 2017 (they're having it now tho, lol. oops). so to anyone looking alpine seemed like a reliable midfielder which had been floating around 5th place in the wcc since like 2017, while mclaren had had the epic highs and lows (of high school football) and was now looking as if it had clearly gotten the new regs all wrong.

THAT SAID. alpine is run by french people. so, you know, that's an important factor to consider

at the time, before learning abt the absolute legal / bureocratic incompetence that drove oscar away, i still objectively thought oscar had made a good choice – but thats bc im a big ol mclarenhead and also biased against alpine. i didn't trust the management of otmar szafnauer or the rest of alpine's higher-ups (rightfully so lol), and i knew enough about the things mclaren were saying to believe that we'd have a change in fortune long-term after the wind tunnel was finished. still like, when 2023 came along and mclaren were clearly backmarkers if not the slowest car on the grid, in retrospect i understand the ppl who made fun of oscar for turning down alpine's offer (and in such a dramatic fashion too, lol). im obviously laughing in all of their faces currently, but yk, i get it ig

also re: proving himself against lando, i think ur accidentally forgetting which frenchie was actually in the other alpine seat LMAO he wouldve gone against ocon, not gasly (i shudder to think of the gasly-to-mclaren alternate universe dear god). i rate ocon i think he's an alright driver but ig my question is more like, why would it be in the interest of a rookie to go against what couldve been a teammate-killer*? like look at alex - his reputation was hugely damaged when he went against max, then his stock HUGELY boosted when he was paired up with latifi and sargeant. north american loserboy pay drivers are necessary to the economy of the f1 paddock bc they make everyone going against them look sooooo good lmao. if anything oscar's reputation wouldve probably benefited more from going up against a race winner like ocon (or gasly if ur suggesting mclaren wouldve tried to get ocon instead, which wouldve been difficult but marginally more rewarding for them) (and less of a nightmare for me) who he couldve possibly actually convincingly beat.

all that considered like. fundamentally oscar DID make the right choice. and not just bc mclaren is a frontrunner big 3 now and alpine has barely gotten any points this year, bc f1 is a game of chance and u never know where any team will actually end up in next year's order. so even ignoring that, oscar made the right choice bc of what he himself has said time and time again - he enjoys and appreciates being wanted. alpine kept him in the attic like that dusty broken air mattress u only bring out when u've got one too many guests for the sleepover. meanwhile, mclaren broke daniel's contract and paid like 20mil partly just so they could secure oscar's seat before anyone else snatched him up. oscar had literally already signed the mcl contract before fernando announced his shock departure. he did not believe his alpine seat was secured or even available at all - there were talks of loaning him to williams or whatever and like out of everyone THATS a team that cant escape its reputation for perpetual floppage lmao. so fundamentally mclaren was in the right to try to secure his contract and oscar was in the right for trying to get out of being the understudy of an old man who doesnt ever seem to want to stop driving.

*i dont actually think lando is a teammate killer, even if he's obviously performing substantially better than oscar up until this point. i think hes unfortunately just a ricciardo-killer lol

They all have their own special subset of skills like Blue’s good with plants and Green is very creative and competitive and Red’s good with animals and Second is an all-rounder and Yellow is tech focused esp red stone and stuff and they get into all sorts of japes and I love them

so red green blue and yellow are all stickfigures and they ALL come from a website sso its safe to assume theyve all known each other ever since theyve existed or atleast for a long time HOWEVER the second coming was DRAWN by an animator and wasnt generated from a website . so basically after second came to life they stumbled onto the website and met rgby ,, and I could tell they IMMEDIATELY started getting along together and like oh my god . so much found family energy they give off so much of it and i haven’t even gotten to PURPLE yet so purple’s my favorite btw and ikin tthem but please dont get concerned looks at you awkwardly. so purple actually had parents but his dad kept beating him up harshly in training sessions and after their mom stepped up and tried to stop their dad he literally LEFT i kid you not their dad LEFT and left purple and their mom and YOU KNOW WHAT FUCKING HAPPENED !!!!!! the mom DIED THATS RIGHT SO NOW PURPLE’S A FUCKING ORPHAN !!!!! and then thats where second and the others come in they helped purple with not one but TWO redemption arcs !!!!!!. and even though purple never canonically stayed with the color gang as far as i can tell theyre still found family to me and it was never said that they would NEVER see each other again they can literally still visit each other its still possible . sorry for ranting ijust think theyre neat but uhmmmm purple’s my favorit (really wish i had my other rant from another submission form to add onto tthjs but its late so💔💔)

ive said before theyre like rivals 2 lovers in a way because before they get to know each other all of their interactions involve bumping into each other trying to get the same last piece of anime merch somewhere. eventually yuu is curious about choro bc isnt it kind of sus that hes always popping up wherever she does...! but he doesnt seem like a bad guy so she takes a chance and asks him to hang out. really this is rivals to friends to lovers....

they get along surprisingly well!! so one thing leads to another and they end up spending a looooot of time together, the whole time insisting they're totally just friends (osomatsu is especially insufferable about teasing them it makes him sick to see them all over each other but neither wants to make the first move)

after theyve hung out for a while and gotten closer maybe theres a period where shes super busy with work and cant hang out at ALL... just going in to the manga cafe and going home after cos theyre short staffed, dealing w customers all day and cleaning up after them... its making her insane doing clopening shifts over and over. her mind keeps wandering thinking stuff like "wow i am about to EXPLODE i wish i was hanging out at chibitas or at the arcade with c... c... ch...."

she hits a hard stop then and there. once that thought starts trying to finish itself she already knows shes cooked. the realization that shed rather be spending all her free time with choro is a lil terrifying to her bc she hadnt even realized she liked him that much...! this is so world shattering she would look stupid as hell behind the counter head in her hands with new customers walking in asking if shes ok LOL. she thinks for hours about this afterwards and cant sleep once she gets home.

the next day and from then out until she accidentally drunkenly confesses to him she tries so so so hard to keep up appearances but even choro can catch on to something being... off... about the way shes acting. he doesnt wanna get his hopes up bc hed honestly just be happy as her friend. but the way she steals glances at him when she thinks hes not looking..... the way she scoots the closest to him when everyone is eating at chibitas.... the way she puts up with his antics but never really truly looks down on him for being an otaku neet.... he cant help but hope she likes him back

admittedly i dont have a lot of headcanons for other kalos league members, which is a bit of a shame, but unfortunately no one else interests me much so ive not given much thought to most of them btu this is a good excuse to!

(this got really long oops i do not blame anyone if no one reads it)

viola: outside of league stuff, i feel that they would know each other somewhat due to working together for photoshoots. also, i feel that violas sister alexa has probably interviewed diantha a few times and perhaps viola was there to record it. i think they would get along decently well but their relationship is just professional!

grant: again, another relationship that i see as amicable but just professional. maybe at most, he has helped diantha train for specific roles in terms of helping her get the hang of rock climbing basics and such but other than that i cant think of how they would interact much outside of league stuff.

korrina: so in the manga they do have a decent amoutn of canon interaction, but i dont remember much of it bc i only skimmed the manga to look at diantha lmao. but evidently, if korrina's grandfather was diantha's mentor at one point (i am assuming mentoring her in how to use mega evolution), then i am sure they have known each other for quite a while. i feel that perhaps diantha sees korrina as something of a younger sister, but unfortunately as theyve both gotten a bit older they dont get to spend as much time together as they may have once been able to when they were younger. korrina is probably one of the league members diantha has more of a history and familiarity with.

ramos: oh man is there even much info about ramos to begin with? i hate to just characterize him as "old person who is the grandparent of the league." maybe, as a gardener, i can see him doing some upkeep around the grounds of the different gyms and the league headquarters? maybe he also has a landscaping business? i think it would be fun if he had been the one to design how the grounds around the league headquarters look, helping it look even more regal than the building itself already does. so maybe perhaps she will run into him outside when she has to come to the league, or maybe she's paid him to come do some work at her home idk!

clemont: im ngl ive never been a fan of his and also he is a child so idk what reason would have to interact with him outside of league stuff. she probably is impressed by his ingenuity and understanding of technology and thats about it.

valerie: oh ok theyve gotta have one of the closer friendships i think!!! they undoubtedly met through either the league or through valerie being commissioned by diantha, one of the two, and they just clicked immediately. i think valerie is one of those people that is just Weird herself and is one of the extremely rare people that diantha can be more herself around without judgement. there is a mutual understanding and acceptance for one another of being an eclectic creative. if anything, i feel that when diantha is able to take part in more experimental and weird artsy indie productions, valerie is almost always involved somehow too because its the sort of thing that attracts them both. valerie is probably someone diantha wishes she could spend more recreational time with.

olympia: another person i see diantha getting along well with. i imagine olympia can be sort of ... off-putting in some ways, but more in the "shes just on another plane of existence" sort of way. and i think diantha would find her fascinating, and maybe even a little bit intimidating? not that its a bad thing lol. diantha would potentially like to spend more recreational time with her too but there is something sort of untouchable about olympia even if she is friendly and that makes it even more difficult to connect with her.

wulfric: so just purely in terms of character, i cant see them meshing well. not that i see them being antagonistic towards one another, but more in probably a generational divide way. and then also, wulfric is canonically a big fan of brycen-man .... which, according to my headcanon, makes things a little weird for diantha. having worked with brycen and knowing just what sort of person he is behind the scenes leaves a bad taste in her mouth when confronted by diehard brycen apologists, which i could see wulfric being and also being just sort of a good ol' boy. i think they can work together decently well for league things, but beyond that i feel that they would just be too different in many ways to connect well. also, if wulfric pesters her a lot about what its like to work with brycen, shes gonna get irritated by that pretty quickly.

malva: oof. i really really REALLY need to explore their dynamic more. malva is the prime example of why you shouldnt sleep with your coworkers i think and diantha definitely made that mistake. lmaooo. i see there being a lot of attraction between the two of them right off the bat and there being a lot of flirting and sexual tension but it exploded in their faces pretty quickly and its been Weird ever since. Weird as in like. diantha is jsut trying to remain professional and do her job and malva is an especially vindictive and petty person and is very very VERY good at finding out what gets under other peoples skin and exploiting that. i imagine there arent a lot of people who can make diantha lose her cool quite like malva can and i love it. additionally, all of dianthas "scandals" were first reported on and covered extensively by malva, purely by coincidence : ) in another universe where diantha was team flare boss, i like to imagine theyd have gotten along swimmingly.

siebold: i dont really have a lot of thoughts on him i am sorry. he seems like a cool dude but hes never had that spark that has really drawn me to him! tbh i just read in fanfiction about them being gay besties and i kinda just go with that bc it absolutely makes sense to me lmao

wikstrom: there is a lot of mutual respect and admiration between the two of them, and i see wikstrom being an untintentionally dramatic person (mostly in his speech and bodily movements) and diantha really enjoys that. something about him sort of just encourages the dramatics in her and if they are allowed to spend too much time together, their interactions slowly start to take on something of a shakespearean quality, as if theyre performing a stage play together (wikstrom is entirely unaware of this, diantha is fully aware of it and Very into it lmao its fun)

drasna: i see her as another Unsettling Older Woman, but not in the same way as olympia. im not sure how to describe it. i see diantha being a very astute person in being able to read others and their intentions, and drasna unsettles her but also like. drasna isnt a bad person. idk if im going to elaborate further be i feel like drasna is one of those chars id like to put more thought into.

Several things to say after the newest episode

WE'RE GETTING THE FATES Y'ALL(if u didn't see the episode trailer go back to the end credits and it'll be there)

Idk why they were moved to after the chimera fight but they're coming!!!!

Also I've been listening to the audiobook and decided to make a post of what we've been missing in the show

Some stuff makes sense like cutting out argus. Maybe it would've been too hard to animate all his eyes or his role wasn't big enough to fit in the time limit. But I've been craving for a missing poster with percy. At camp he's given a newspaper of his and his mums dissapearance with him as a person of interest because gabe calls him a troubled kid with a delinquent past. I get cutting out some stuff for gabe but it couldve been easy to see them walk past a newspaper of this on the train. Also there were missing posters percy would tear down when in the human world and I just want to see one person of interest or missing person poster.

Now SPOILER WARNING(books and show) but here are the other things I've noticed:

Grover got the flying shoes because percy isn't safe in the air due to zeus

The styx oath is super super serious

ANNABETHS BEEN TO OLYMPUS

Annabeth has a crush on luke(maybe they want to retcon that idk)

I'd been wondering for ages why the kids don't have cells ITS BC MONSTERS CAN TRACE THEM

argus is the camp protector and was going to drive the kids to the coach and for some reason they cut it out so we don't get to see a dude covered in eyes

Percy and annabeth aren't supposed to get along because of their parents rivalry

Argus may ship percabeth

Percy has missing posters everywhere

Percy is a person of interest in his mothers suspicious dissapearance because of gabe

GROVER CAN READ EMOTIONS (like auras?)

Grover eats tin cans and playing cards(he's also a vegetarian)

Percys mum married Gabe bc his smell hides percy from creatures/ monsters

Chiron has had a percy related prophecy that's only now starting to make sense

There were meant to be 3 furies on the bus(i can see why they cut this out)

Monsters come back to life and mrs dodds had come back

The camp was attacked by a hell hound out for percy who was fought off by annabeth with a sword and killed by chirons arrow (I get cutting out this scene but it would've looked SO COOL)

It could only be summoned by someone inside the camp and was from the field of torment so that's how they knew hades was the one who had stolen the lightning bolt and framed percy

A hawaian shirted tourist had taken a picture of percy with riptide

I'm guessing they rewrote the coach scene so they didn't lose all their snacks and money(rip grovers tin cans)

In the book if percy dies the quest is over and annabeth and grover have to go back to camp but I don't think that's an issue in the show(or maybe percy didn't know because annabeth didn't explain to him idk)

Annabeths never actually gone out into the real world since she was 7

We got to see annabeth unsure of herself because she's never gotten to properly fight a monster since she was 7 which is a shame to cut out of the show for her character arc. Tbh theyve cut out a lot of slower character arcs which is annoying but understandable with the length of each episode

Grover can play songs to help eg the find a path song but he hasn't got the hang of it yet

Hes basically a level 1 bard

Auntie M was able to use some kind of snake charmer ability

Grover was way more fighting active in the book because he found his uncles statue earlier than in the show

In the book they used a reflection of a spear instead of annabeths cap and annabeth was calculating how off the light would be because the spear was curved. Both show off annabeths intelligence but the cap is more unique and cooler on screen

When parts of a monster are cut off they don't disappear with the rest of it and become a "spoil of war" -basically a magically remaining trophy

Satyrs aren't meant to get migranes but percy and annabeth gave grover one at medusas

I'm guessing at least 50% of percys impertinence comes from being an only kid

This isn't a fact this is just something I started imagining after the 50th time someone said "Percy" with the same energy as a cat being annoyed at another housecat and giving a warning meow before attacking it

Grovers getting a searchers license to find Pan the Greek God

Grover doesn't know what happened to his dad who was also a seeker

The search for Pan gives satyrs hope after seeing what humans have done to the world

Grover tells percy annabeth forgave him for what happened at Grovers first assignment

The furies were holding back and could've been more aggressive than they were

Grover can use his emotional reading to see what percy hides about his feeling to his dad

The thing in Percys dreams tries using him to pull itself out not to drag him down

Grover can talk to all animals

Grover is a snorer

Percy tells annabeth about his dream at this point but I don't think he's told anyone about those dreams in the show

They've not said anything about the beads on their necklaces the campers get for surviving another year. Would've been an easy merch ad but maybe it wasn't important enough yet

Children of athena are made as thoughts of athena and given to people she feels close to or something

Annabeth was sent to her dad in a golden basket with the winds of zephyr

Even though she respects her mum she has equal level of daddy issues to percy

In chapter 12 percy acts like he doesn't care about his dad's approval but grover can read his emotions and knows percy sent medusas head so poseidon would be proud

But then he wonders in chapter 13 why annabeth acts like she doesn't care about her dad who seems worse than gabe when she still wears a ring from him which is such a teen thing for him to do honestly

Whenever a monster attacked annabeth the stepmum and dad blamed her for "threatening" their mortal/ normal kids

We get a hint of architecture nerd annabeth in the episode but she doesnt say she wants to build something for athena. I assume its implied but its not clarified how big her dreams are. She wants to build something that'll last 1000 years. I won't give any major spoilers but maybe we'll get it in a future scene and I'm hoping its in her siren scene

I think that while percy loves his mum and hates his dad Annabeth hates her mortal parents and Athena was her only hope of a loving mother even though in the show she says its a kind of transactional thing

Also side note I thought the chimera was the pink poodle before it left the bag and I love that they kinda sorta reference it when we see from the human passengers pov

In the books they're careful about mentioning gods around humans but percy just straight out calls the mother of monsters a monster in front of the passengers and officers. Didn't even lower his voice or anything

Hades has a helm that can make him become darkness and make you so scared you go insane

Do they ever get something equivalent to sending stones or detect thoughts like in DnD to deal with this? Obviously normal tech is out because monsters can track it but what about magical communication methods?(the iris video call system doesn't count that seems like a premium thing if it costs one gold drachma-also the book explains demigods only use gold drachmas even though in ancient greek it would've been silver- and they have 20 for the quest so they cant just use a drachma every time they want to send a magical text which; you can't do with the iris system. Also the iris system isn't any subtler than a zoom call so wouldn't be good for hiding stuff from hades)

Percy still hasn't gotten a chance to confuse annabeth with his blue snack foods(i assume grover already knows bc he'd have had blue sweets at yancy)

Zeus allowed the mother of monsters to attack Percy

The mother of monsters hates that ant eaters are named after the echidna

For some reason riptide didn't return to percy during the fight and its mentioned in the book. Maybe poseidon kept it so he could contact him?

Also a couple notes I've learned while listening to hesiod

The cyclopes helped zeus defeat kronos and bring the titans to their time out tartarus zone(not by crafting the lightning bolt in the original myths unless I'm misremembering I think they just helped in the fight like bringing your older brother to fight your bully)

The river styx is the only female river goddess and a favourite child

I hadn't taken any notes so lmk if u want me to add more hesiod fun facts and I'll relisten to theogony

I'm stopping notes here so I don't go past chapter 13: I plunged to my death

I'm thinking of writing my notes as I binge listen to the audiobook and editing them after watching the episode before posting on tumblr. Or I've already read until book 4 of the pjo series so I may decide to hold off on listening to the audiobook until each episode airs(I have vague memories of important or memorable stuff but its been a couple years since I last read the books). I'll see how long I can stop myself from listening to the audiobook. This isn't a perfect list so let me know if somethings wrong or if I missed something in tags or comments

like the only reason the switch from ovw1 to ovw2 was even MILDLY okay in my mind was bcs of the promise of the pve campaign bcs in all honesty? playing online sucks! the playerbase sucks! its not worth putting up with people over!!! 9/10 times if i am playing ovw its on vs ai or custom games w friends because playing pvp is at this point a 1way ticket to being pissed off and annoyed by people being dickheads or the game being unbalanced or both. like its not worth it. not to MENTION the fact that they lied to us about ovw1 staying up and being playable in coexistence with ovw2, with the ridiculous fucking monetization and the stupid fucking battlepass its literally just a worse version of the game that they had propped up on empty promises and 'oh but were working on it! were working on it!!!!!' suck my nuts youre not working on shit. genuinely pissed that id gotten so excited for season 4 as i did bcs as cool as the starwatch event and the sig mythic skin are its all really soured when i sit back and think about the perspective of the whole thing. like damn theyve just been knowingly stringing us along for years over something they never intended to deliver on. willing to bet money that the reason ovw2 is free to play now is so that they could have dodged out of people getting pissed when they found out pve wasnt happening and demanding refunds.
