This photoshoot was actually quite spontaneous. I tubed to central London and wondered around oxford Circus in hope to find chinatown...(I did). The photographs definitely aren’t great, im really trying to adapt to this different style of shooting- the past three years i’ve photographed self-portraits in the studio so having to have to pay so much attention to the outside world is beyond strange.
I shot with my FujiFilm XT-2 on manual, adapting the settings to different lights. I arrived there around 7/8pm and left around 10pm so it was very nearly pitch black, this works really well as in soho theres alot of beautiful floresent light. I tried to use the light to my advantage and compose quite a romantic shot.
In conclusion, I am happy with some of the shots but similarly, to my last photoshoot these are just experiments to get my juices flowing to really figure out the main topic/subject I want to photograph for my final photographs.

After photographing the area Iive, my most favourite photographs were the two above. Instead of hinding behind the scenes like many street photographers, I wanted to make myself known and actually speak to the people i was photographing for me it gives the photographs alot more depth.
Im thinking it may be a nice idea to have a documentary style series on the new place i live (Greenford)...its a very different style and concept from my usual work but it’s a nice creative challenge. I think it would also be a great insight to this whole new world im living in

This shoot really was just a test run into street photography as its honestly not one of my strong suits. I walked round the local area just getting a feel for things. Although, it is a very small shoot i love the photographs where i had actually asked to take their photograph...but can this be classed as “street photography” as it is kind of staged?
I definitely would like to re-shoot this, taking more time to walk around and just observe my surroundings a little more. Im debating if it would look better in more central London? I think I will vary locations as i do like the ‘local’ vibe greenford gives, it has a little more character than many many torists.

Micheal Wesely, was born in Mulich and now lives in Berlin. In the mid-1920's, Weseley began to experiment with different techniques- most especially long exposure. He documents urban development, capturing years worth of life in just one frame. The photographs are created by a homeade pinhole camera, small apertures, filters and lots of time.
I particularly love this photograph because its 'endlessly long', literally preserving time. It combines the past and the present. The photographs shows us a much wider perspective of the world around us and one we wouldn't of ever been able to notice in our ever going eyes.
After thinking about photography and time i want to play with long shutter speeds during the middle of the night while i sleep and also during the day. The outcome of this will be a series of photographs, set in the same place but different times of day and as the series gets longer you’ll begin to notice different characteristics about myself and all my kinks from a perspective i’ve not seen before.
