omg mary kirby confirming that she intended lucanis* to be ace - between that and bg3's astarion (and my real actual partner), just cements my apparent fatal flaw of being a deeply horny not at all ace person who is constantly attracted to ace people first thing right out of the gate like "yes that one!!" like a cat that just wants only to sit on people who are deeply allergic to it XD (i'm so sorry you guys T.T) *and maybe bellara too? my 2nd romance plan lol

Rotating an idea in my head;
Imagine a neglected!Reader who did everything in an attempt to impress their family.
Who got amazing grades and got into high school at age 11.
Who was "a savant beyond their years" and "talented beyond what their age group could be taught".
Skills came easy to them. Give them a year and some encouragement and before you know it they'll have mastered whatever it was.
It wasn't like they could leave the house and hang out with friends. Bruce said that was off the table. It got quiet so often in the manor.
But it wasn't enough
Until someone saw the potential that Batman was just leaving there. Like he wanted someone to just... scoop them up and tutor them.
Their friends and allies and even a few enemies saw the potential. They all agreed to teach them their greatest skill. In a year they've mastered all of them, even surpassing some of them.
Any drug they were developing was improved beyond anything they could've imagined.
Weapons fashioned to fit them far surpassed anything, even the best on the black market.
The Rogue Gallery was beyond impressed.
And Reader was on Cloud Nine with all the attention it was earning them. Head pats, praise, treats. It was more than anything they could've asked for. And even if they didn't have a new invention at the end of the week, so many were willing to just hang out. Without prompting! No "Go bother Alfred" or "I'm busy" or "Another time, chickadee".
Harley had to be reminded that a 12 year old had no business around hyenas, even if Budsie and Louie were on their best behavior. Harley settled for watching old magical girl animes with you.
Luckily, Poison Ivy knew not to bring you around her poisonous plants. Though she did spend a concerning time teaching you exactly what plants were poisonous and how they were poisonous.
Bane taught you everything he knew, from throwing a punch, to how to scare someone off. Granted, a 12 year old, with so much of their baby fat in their cheeks, and wrists as thick as Bane's thumb, looked like a Ragdoll kitten copying a Bengal tiger. He played chess with you too, and he said that given your role in advising, a knight or a bishop would fit you best.
Bane was your favorite. He'd smush your face (gently, you were so tiny he was scared of breaking you), lift you up, even do pushups and pull ups with you on his back.
When Bane told you how he'd saved Alfred once during a collapse of Arkham Asylum, only to be incapacitated once Alfred was "done" with him, it made your blood boil.
As you learned all of their stories, learned the human in all of them, you knew that you were saved from a family with rotten blood. You'd spend your life repaying them, even if they never asked.
--------
Eventually, you decide to follow them into battle. You're kept up and away from the bulk of the battle. This time, it was Joker vs the Batfamily. Tim was unable to track what he'd been trying to do past a few errant clues. It was clear that the Rouge Gallery had a new villain.
You were given direct instructions to watch yourself; Joker wouldn't care enough to tear his eyes off Batman. You already knew that; Harley had spent 3 days trying to convince you to reschedule with someone else, but you told her you wanted Joker, not someone who'd be tempted to glance back and give away your hiding space.
Jason was the one that saw you. You were dressed in a costume that resembled a bishop chess piece with a split full face mask, perched atop a van far from the actual battle. His old scars with Joker made him hesitate, but you looked like a definite person of interest, and everyone else was indisposed.
He ran over, firing rubber bullets as you dodged, eventually tripping and falling off the van. Why were you so small? Jason picked you up, grip just loose enough so you could breathe.
You reached up, pulling your mask off. Jason blanched as he saw your face, soft around the edges and wide eyed.
Bruce told him that he'd stayed away to protect you from the vigilante life. You were the one person who hadn't pushed to join them, so he never told you about missions to avoid any ideas of joining. Jason followed suit, and so did the others. Their lives were busy enough anyways, and you had Alfred when he didn't have something more important to do.
He may have brushed you off more than absolutely necessary, but he wasn't in the right headspace then! You had already grown so much and all he'd wanted by then was vengeance on Batman. You couldn't blame him for keeping his distance at that point. He was protecting you.
But here you were, pinned by the throat by your own brother. Your protector. He released you, taking a step back. He glanced around for an opening, seeing a small alleyway. He gestured over his shoulder for you to follow. "C'mon kid. I'll get you back home and I won't even tell Bruce you snuck out, 'k?"
Suddenly, he felt a prick in his back, shortly followed by a burning itch and ice cold pain. He fell to the ground, trying to reach the spot you pricked.
"Miss Ivy said these were dangerous. Her own home blend. It's a diluted version, so you'll be fine in a few days, Todd" said the much too calm voice above him. He was struggling to breathe around the writhing mass of pain, looking up at you between blinks of tears.
He couldn't scream, he could barely breathe. He could die here and the family wouldn't know until the dust settled.
"It won't kill you, and from the looks of it, they'll be coming to pick you up soon."
"Aren't we family?" He chokes out between gasps. He felt so lost. You were his baby sibling, the tiny thing that'd wander the halls, holding an old chess board as you asked your cool big brother to play with you. The person he kept away from to protect. How could you repay him like this?
Hadn't he done so much for you?
You look at him from the boot of the van. When had you gotten so far away? Your voice is quiet, but it's heard, if barely, over the revving of the engine as Joker's minions prepare to drive away, and the screaming of his name as the rest of the family approaches.
"Were we? I never thought you wanted a baby sibling like me."
-------
The Batfamily took him home and patched him up. The new tech, like all other recent inventions brought in, were so advanced they bordered on state of the art. Even Tim was struggling to decode any of them, with all the kill-switches that seemed to recognize when it wasn't hooked up to the original computer and bricked themselves.
Jason had recovered, like you said, in a few days. Capable of breathing easily in 2 days, regularly needing to be sedated before then, and sitting up without pain by day 5.
The Batfamily had asked him by day 4 about the masked person they had seen next to him. Jason was detached from himself. That face, those eyes. They held no warmth for him, no pity for him while he was writhing in agony at their feet. Like he was less than a stranger.
Like he was less than human in their eyes.
Your name fell off his tongue like lead, slamming against the ground as everyone fell into silence.
"It was them. They gave me that injection. Their face, I-"
"Todd, did the injection give you hallucinations? There was no way that they'd accomplish something like that." Damian raised his brow, checking the chart to make sure the bulk was out of his system.
"I know what I saw. They hadn't even injected me when I saw their face."
"That's impossible, Jay! Look, I'll go to their room and get them right now. They'll probably be pretty cranky since it's, what, 4am?" Dick's footsteps disappeared down the hall.
After a few minutes, Dick came running back, looking at Jason with a mix of shock, horror, and confusion.
Two words.
Two words that finally made them look at you.
Two words that made them realized what they'd missed.
Two words that made them connect the inventions that almost got them killed to the darling child they'd convinced themselves they were protecting with cold shoulders and smothering silence.
Two words that made them refocus their sights on bringing you back.
"They're gone."

random shit keeping me up at night:
steve has no plans other than working at family video for the rest of his life until he randomly goes with eddie, jeff and garet to la to check out some shady record deal they've been offered, because being a formerly wanted criminal and survivors of the infamous hawkins town disaster doesn't hurt your cred as a metal band. all ozzy did was bite the head off one little bat.
they've sent out a handful of tapes and some actually get picked up, even though everyone wants money just to take a meeting. steve is planning to plant his pretty ass down on venice beach for a week and do fuck all when he's approached by an excited looking punk girl asking if he's ever acted, modelled, anything? he has a look. he has the look for a project she's working on, she's co-director, would he be interested?
which is how steve harrington end up playing one of the lead roles as an undead jock in the worst b-rate horror flick you've ever seen. the kind that gets passed around at parties as joke. robin makes fun of it for the rest of his life, but he's the best thing in it and it puts him on the map. he's got natural charm and comedic timing, and the fact that he's basically playing himself and everyone adores working with him keeps landing him bigger roles.
meanwhile eddie cannot believe his awesome scream king boyfriend and the fact that he's casually hanging out with some of eddie's heroes. he's filming with john landis. cronenberg wants him for project. barbara crampton gushes about working with him. steve didn't even know who half these people were, is an unrepentant romcom fanboy. when asked by fangoria who he'd like to work with in the future he says john hughes, and everyone thinks its a really funny joke. only eddie knows how much of a dweeb steve really is.
corroded's kind of dead in the water at this point, but they've got a solid first album and steve is pretty close with the director he's working with at the moment, and the film is in development mainly off of steve's typecasting anyway. so steve is like "sammy, what about a psychadelic metal concept album running through the entire film?" and eddie's like "did you just call sam fucking raimi 'sammy'?" and sam is like "sure, set something up" *shrugs and goes back to writing about a demonic witch cult that steve's unassuming quarterback has to fight off with a cursed bible and a nail bat in a small town in iowa (some of which is steve's idea, thank you very much, its a collab for the ages)*
corroded coffin's soundtrack ends up a success, and much later a lauded cult classic. they get signed by someone who doesn't work out of a basement. steve is a hit, and its the first time he sees this many people dressed as a character he played for halloween, which is a trip. dustin sends him a pic from a party at his college wearing his now iconic letterman jacket and the bat and steve has genuinely never been as proud of anything he's worked on.
he lands a tiny part with about two lines as 'guy who gets face eaten' in a john carpenter film and john falls in love and makes him kurt russel's younger brother in a lovecraftian story about a a mysterious extraterrestrial force unleashed during a solar eclipse. eddie munson shakes kurt russels hand for about ten of the wildest seconds of his life at the premiere party. he'll score a song for john years later, and john will remember how much of a hyper fanboy he'd been that night and enough time will have passed thats it funny.
steve takes him to dinner with bruce campbell, who likes to call him kid apparently while steve tells him to fuck off, hes 8 years older and a dick, and apparently this is some injoke between them. eddie is dating a dude that has injokes with bruce campbell. eddie barely eats the entire time, just keeps about half a billion questions about every minute detail of evil dead to a minimum and lets the guy breathe. he's pretty sure bruce knows they're together, even though they dont go around announcing it, and he seems cool. he signs an autograph that eddie only feels a little mortified about asking for while steve rolls his eyes.
and steve is like i dont understand why me being a kickass point guard for three years didnt do shit for you but getting sprayed by a fuckton of fake blood in this terrible stephen king adaptation impresses you but ill take it.
eventually eddie composes a couple of songs solo for a scifi that does reasonably well and just leans fulltime into scoring. as a personal favor, john and him chainsmoke their way through a few collaborations on eddie's first and final solo record in the late 90's. it's indisputably his best work, and he tells steve he can die happy now.
they're just an adorable little horror power couple and i live for it

you'd be the love of my life when i was young
Tumblr media
summary: gryffindors wear their heart on their sleeve when they fall in love. slytherins keep their heart locked far away to keep it from breaking.
pairing: poly!marauders x reader (sirius x reader, remus x reader, lily x reader, and james x reader)
tags: slight angst, fluff, lucius malfoy, happy ending
note: i have a chemistry quiz due in 50 minutes but this takes priority. . . i haven't written in a while so forgive my rusty writing skills, they've only been let out from the basement today. not proofread, we die like the marauders. (title is taken from the song, 21 by gracie abrams, because that's roughly around the age jily die. hehe.)
Tumblr media
They said when you fell in love with the right people, everything would fall in place after.
What a load of bullshit.
You had come to a conclusion one winter morning, laying in the Gryffindor common room dressed in your woolly, green jumper. You rested on the worn-out leather seat, nervously fiddling with your fingers as you stared at the ceiling, thinking about how it was going terribly wrong. How funny it was, that the 30th of December greeted you with an existential crisis instead of presents and hot chocolate.
There was something quite wrong with you, you had noticed for the past few months.
Every time Sirius Black smiled at you, showing off his pearly canines and the crinkles by his deep-grey eyes, you would experience a painful, tightening sensation in your chest — like someone was squeezing at your heart. Most people knew Sirius Black, the prankster, but you were lucky enough to know Sirius, the kind and spirited boy who had a heart that loved fiercely more than anyone you knew.
Cosy afternoons found you in the library with Remus Lupin, and a strange feeling would erupt in your stomach whenever Remus leaned down, and you’d catch a whiff of pine needles and fresh mint. Shaggy, blond hair falling over his eyes as he came to life, talking about your common love for muggle books. He made time feel like an illusion, minutes fading away into hours as the two of you shared stifled giggles, cheeks numb by the time you left the room.
And James, oh James Potter. It was difficult to describe what you felt with him — but with James, the brightest colours in the world couldn’t even compare to him. James was like putting on a pair of brand-new eyeglasses and seeing everything clearly for the first time. And without a doubt, you knew that James would never let you get hurt. But these days, you were weak in the knees as you’d see him across the Great Hall, waving at you excitedly as he bellowed your name, and to come and sit next to them.
Last, but certainly not the least, Lily Evans. Her sweet, airy voice was a warm hug on a cold day. And her actual hugs were second to none — don’t tell Sirius, however, he liked to shift into Padfoot to steal Lily’s title as the queen of cuddling. Lily flowers were delicate, she was anything but. The spitfire of Gryffindor, who would raise her chin and defy anyone who would harass you for hanging out with them.
(“You’re our emotionally constipated Slytherin,” said Lily as she mushed your cheeks, cooing when you tried to glare at her, and the three boys guffawing in the background. They liked to tease you often, being a year younger than them.)
Were you dying?
That was the only plausible explanation to your palpitating heart and rickety knees.
No, it was definitely not because you had gone and fell in love with your best friends.
That was absurd.
You had tried venting to Lucius Malfoy once. Narcissa often doted on you, sneakily leaving treats on your desk before she left for her class, and fussing when you got sick — which was quite often. That meant, when you weren’t with the marauders, you were trailing after the Slytherin power couple, or Severus.
(Lucius curled his lips in disgust, Narcissa sipping tea by his side, failing at hiding her knowing smirk. “I am above such childish matters,” hissed Lucius, scowl deepening when Narcissa laughed heartily, looking happier than she had been since returning home for the holidays. “I do not know why you’d even think to come to me for this.”
You huffed.
Maybe you’d try Severus next.
Naturally, he stormed off the moment Lily’s name fell from your lips.
Your resident seventh-years were confusing.)
Fortunately, you were stripped from your thoughts when the entrance to the common room slammed open, the paintings clamouring as they were disturbed from their slumber. One by one, the marauders piled inside the room, a string of melodious laughter and boisterous conversations following their arrival. Hastily, you sat up, heart thudding against your ribcage. Silence, you wretched beast, you told it. Don’t let them see how I burn for them.
“There you are!” Sirius came into view first, grinning widely as he crossed the room to reach you. “Who said you could be this pretty in the morning, love?”
Ba-dump!
Sirius plopped down head first onto your lap, manoeuvring your hand to comb through his hair as he sighed in contentment. “Bloody hell,” He exhaled shakily, “Last night was the worst one we’ve ever been through.”
Your fingers ghosted through the new scar etched across his sharp cheekbones — it was nothing Madam Pomfrey couldn’t fix, but you still didn’t like the sight of them bruised and wounded. Swiftly, Sirius grabbed your hand and intertwined your own with his. “I’m sorry,” You whispered.
Sirius chuckled tiredly, tightening his hold on you, as though you were a tether that kept him afloat in his sea of nightmares.
(And you were. If only you knew.)
“It’s not your fault,” said Sirius.
Then, your eyes landed on Remus limping towards you, his bare skin littered with scrapes and marks, supported with an arm around James’s broad shoulders. He sent a toothy smile your way, despite the tired lines on his forehead and deep bags beneath his eyes. “Waited up all night for us, huh?”
“I just couldn’t sleep knowing you guys were out there,” You whispered sheepishly. “It’s too dangerous, what happens if something goes terribly wrong, and it costs you your life? We need to tell someone.”
“Everyone who needs to know, already knows.” Remus bit down a pained expression as he sat by your side, head lolling on your shoulder. “This is the best we have for now.”
You didn’t like it.
You didn’t like it at all.
Before you could reply, Remus turned his head, lips feathering against your exposed skin. His voice was low as he said, “‘Sides, it’s our job to worry about you, not the other way around.”
“Well, I apologize for interrupting your job,” You whispered back harshly, wondering if that was all you were to them, a younger friend they felt the need to look after. Oh, how mortifying that would be.
James chuckled from behind you, bending over the back of the couch, he pressed a kiss to the side of your head, lingering for a few moments that felt like an eternity. “You’re too adorable,” said James, tweaking your nose. “Our angry, little Slytherin.”
“I’m not little.” You glowered at him.
“Perhaps not.” James smiled cheekily. “But you’re ours.”
Often times, you had wondered how the five of you came to be so tight-knit, knowing their disdain for most of the Slytherins.
(Little did you know, you smiled at them once in Potions, and they were a goner.)
Something stirred deep in your belly.
You sucked in a breath. “Don’t say things like that, James.”
People could get the wrong idea.
You could get the wrong idea.
“Well, why not?” Lily appeared in your peripheral vision, the scent of blooming wildflowers and fresh rain filling the room. Like the three boys, her skin was sallow from lack of sleep, but her bare face and blinding grin left your heart racing. “It’s true, isn’t it?”
It could be, just not in the way you wanted it to be true.
You sighed. “Class is going to start in a few hours, I should get going.”
“Or,” James began wickedly, throwing a thick blanket onto the floor by the fireplace, and tossing a bunch of throw pillows at Sirius’s face. “We could have a sleepover right here.”
“Sounds good to me,” said Lily merrily, stealing James’s blanket as she placed a pillow beneath her head.
“I really have to go—” You reasoned pathetically.
“Stay,” whispered Sirius without even opening his eyes as he curled his lithe fingers around your wrist. “You being here makes us feel better.”
They were too cruel, saying all these sweet words, not knowing how it drove knives through your heart.
James yawned as he laid on the carpeted floor, hiking the blanket up to his shoulders as he threw a leg over Lily, pulling her close to his chest, nuzzling the crook of her neck. “D’you have your textbooks with you, love?” He asked you drowsily.
“No,” You answered, any other words lodged in your throat.
“That’s fine.” James hummed. “I’ll just get the cloak and sneak into the dungeons later to get the books for you.”
“Sleep,” Remus urged you, unaware how you shivered at his words.
“You can’t be comfortable like that,” You told him in disbelief, watching his neck bend at an angle to lay on your shoulder.
“Trust me,” said Remus gently, eyelashes tickling your skin, “I’m right where I want to be.”
You had grown silent for a few beats, unaware how Sirius’d opened his eyes, staring at your worried expression.
(How could one person be so perfect, he wondered.)
“You alright, darling?” He reached out to trace the curve of your jaw with his thumb, the palm of his hand holding your face as though you were a pureblood’s antique treasure. (Mine, mine, mine, his heart screamed.)
But like the Slytherin you were, you lied as easily as you breathed.
“I’m fine.”
As you laid in between Remus and Sirius, watching the peaceful rise of Lily and James’s chests, you had come to a daunting realization.
You were irrevocably and agonizingly in love with your best friends.
And because fate liked to spit in your face, the four of them were already in a beautiful, committed relationship.
Who were you to get in the way of that?
They would understand, you convinced yourself.
They would understand that you had to stay away from them. You had to protect your heart and keep it safe. The marauders were a dangerous bunch, and they had played the biggest prank on you, and by Merlin, would you fall for this particular prank over and over again if it meant you could hear their voices and fall into their embrace.
But you couldn’t stay. They would only crush your heart otherwise.
If Gryffindors wore their heart on their sleeves when they fell in love, Slytherins protected theirs with every fibre of their being, locking it in a cage where no one else can have the power to break it.
Like what any love-stricken teenager would do in the face of heartbreak, you began to ignore the objects of your affections — ignoring the way your soul called out to theirs.
It wasn’t as obvious the first few days. You would escape their company under the ruse of studying for McGonagall and Flitwick’s practical tests.
(“They’re notoriously difficult after all,” You told them, a nervous laugh accompanying your lie. Peter eyed you curiously, noticing small details the others could not see — your quivering lips, your nails digging into your palms, and the way your eyes wouldn’t meet any of theirs. “I just don’t want to fail.”
You could have cried at the way James held the back of your head as he placed a soft kiss on your forehead. “You’ll do well, love. You always do.”
“You can study with me, if you want,” Remus quickly offered. “I’m not as good as James in transfiguration, but I can definitely teach better than those two.”
“Hey!” Sirius exclaimed in mock offence.
“Thanks, it’s sweet of you to offer,” You told them, shifting your weight awkwardly from one foot to the other. “But—”
“Say less, darling,” Lily interjected kindly, wrapping her scarf around your neck. She smiled at you, holding both your cheeks in her palms. “They’re the worst lot to study around, I know. Just don’t study too hard, okay? Take breaks, have a cup of tea now and then, and remember it’s okay to ask for help — don’t give me that face — if it gets too overwhelming, just ask. We’re here for you in every way you need us.”
Oh.
You were well and truly screwed.
“Thanks,” You croaked.)
But it was getting harder and harder to come up with excuses.
(“Wotcher!” Sirius grinned, encasing you in a tight hug after bumping into you in the corridor. “Haven’t seen you in a while, busy bee. Fancy a lunch with us in Hogsmeade?”
You scrunched your nose, red and bitten from the winter frost, stepping away from him and ignoring the way his face fell. “I. . . I can’t. I’ve got practice with the Frog Choir.”
Sirius shoved his hands in his trouser pockets. “S’alright. I can wait and pick you up right after, then we’ll swing by that shop you really like—”
“I can’t, Sirius,” You interrupted harshly, wrapping your arms around your chest as your gaze dropped to the ground. “Sorry. I just. . . I’ll just catch you some other time.”
Sirius flinched. “Sure, love. Other time, yeah?”
But only the wind replied.
Saturday came, and along with it was the long-awaited match between Gryffindor and Slytherin. James, decked out in his uniform, bounded over to you at the Slytherin’s side of the Great Hall, oblivious to the death glares some of your housemates had sent his way. He wrapped his arms around you from behind, lifting you from your seat.
“It’s Quidditch day, pidge!” James tilted his head, awfully resembling a lost, confused puppy. “Why aren’t you dressed yet? It’s the game of games! Even Remus is announcing the game later.”
You bit your lip before responding. “I’m not going, James.”
“What?” He furrowed his brows. “Why not?”
Ever since you had become friends with James Potter in your first year, you had never missed a single game of his. Except for the one time you had fallen sick during his match against Hufflepuff — and the moment he knew you were ill, the game ended in less than two minutes, by his sheer determination to get by your side quickly and make sure you weren’t alone.
You sighed. “I don’t know, James, I’m just not feeling up to it today.”
It was a big, fat lie, and he knew it too.
You didn’t go to his match later that day.
It was one of the biggest losses James had ever experienced — he wasn’t talking about Quidditch.)
Your housemates were beginning to realize was something was off as well. They might not be particularly fond of the Gryffindors that captured your heart, but they were fond of you, and they guarded their own.
You had a stare-down with Regulus Black in the common room — and you weren’t about to lose — before he blinked and asked, “What did my brother do?”
“Nothing,” You replied, pretending to be engrossed with your herbology textbook.
Severus rolled his eyes before plucking the book out of your hands. “Spit it out, woman. We’ve had to watch you mope around pathetically for days now. It’s irritating the rest of us.”
You sniffled. “Then just leave me alone! No one asked you to check up on me!”
“Unfortunately, we can’t.” Severus took a seat beside Regulus. With a pained grimace, he said, “So you can. . . pour your heart out to us.”
“I can’t.” You wailed. “I’m a Slytherin, we’re the worst at that.”
Regulus shrugged his shoulders. “It’s true. We’re hopeless.”
“But,” He raised his wand, “We do speak in jinxes and curses.”
“Don’t you dare!” You blubbered, wiping at your tears — but somehow, without having to express it in words, they understood, and you had felt lighter.
Still, you missed them.
“This is pathetic.” Lucius enters the common room, Narcissa holding onto his arm, watching the scene before him with blank eyes. “Black, Snape, get out, you’re only making whatever this is, worse.”
Narcissa was by your side in an instant, dabbing at your wet eyes and cheeks with a handkerchief that cost more than your life. “Hush now, darling. What’s wrong, hm? Was it that idiot cousin of mine? Don’t worry, Lucius can tell his father, and we’ll have them begging at your feet by tomorrow.”
You cried louder.
“I jest, I jest.” Narcissa softly chuckled, pulling your hair away from your face as she tugged you close. “Please tell us what’s wrong. It’s been awful seeing you like this for the past few days.”
Lucius sat on the loveseat across you, resting his feet atop the glass coffee table. “Yes, I beg you — do as she says, for the love of Merlin. But, really, what else did you expect, associating yourself with that ragtag of miscreants?”
Narcissa glared at him.
Lucius raised his arms in surrender.
Narcissa clicked her tongue before returning her attention to you, eyes softening at your tear-stricken face. She smiled, albeit sadly, as she said, “Perhaps, I know what is wrong.” She gestured to the way you clutched at the front of your shirt. “It is the matters of the heart, is it not?”
You nodded weakly. “I love them.”
“And they, you,” said Narcissa. “So, what is wrong?”
“I love them!” You hiccuped.
“Unfortunately.” Lucius handed you a tissue. “The whole of Hogwarts knows this already, so I do not understand why you’re blowing snot all over my fiancé’s robes about it.”
“They don’t feel the same way about me,” You confessed with a sob.
Lucius stared at you incredulously. “Please do not tell me that you are this daft.”
“What do you mean?” You asked him through narrowed, teary eyes, Narcissa rubbing the tips of your numb fingers from crying so much.
“I did not sign up for this.” Lucius rubbed at his temples as he stood up. “I will only say this once, so make sure you are listening. Those Gryffindor idiots are so disastrously in love with one another — let me finish, damn you — and if you cannot see that they love you too, then it is your own fault. It physically pains me to see the way they smile when you are near. They would move the earth for you, and they would shake the heavens for you.”
Gryffindors must have hearts made of steel, because you didn’t know how they could be so brave, to look fear right in the eyes and say: I’m ready.
Because you surely weren’t. You were headed towards your usual spot in the courtyard by the clock tower, legs heavy and swell deep in your throat. Then, you found them, looking so achingly beautiful under the sunlight, huddled together for warmth as they smiled and laughed at lame puns and mistimed jokes.
Did you have a place with them?
You were about to find out.
“Hey,” You greeted once you were right in front of them. A month of evading them, and now you were here. It was like finding a piece of your soul that you had lost.
(For them, seeing you was like finally being able to breathe again.)
“Hey,” said Lily, devoid of any warmth, and that broke you.
Bravery was poison, you decided. A trap for weak-hearted fools like you.
Sirius shot James a look before clenching his jaw. “No choir practice today? No study sessions with Cissa or Reg? Wait, no, I’ve got it. Slughorn’s dinner party? Or is it detention with McGonagall today? Does her highness finally feel up to talking to the peasants?”
You inhaled sharply. “Never mind. This was a bad idea.”
But this — is what you deserved. You had hurt them badly, so it was only right for them to stomp on your heart for everyone to see, just as you did to them many times this month.
A sob tore from your lips as you swivelled on your heels, ready to flee the scene and never show your face to anyone else ever again. Yet, before you could leave, Remus clamped his hand over your wrist.
“Why?” He stared at you, searching for anything that could explain your sudden behaviour. Remus looked at you with such emotion, tightly holding onto you — but never enough to hurt, because Remus could never be capable of hurting you. He’d die before he would ever cause you pain.
(You made him feel unafraid of the moon.)
“Was. . . was it something I did?” Remus asked, laying his wounds bare for you to see. “Was it me?”
“I love you!” You shouted in the midst of panic — you had never wanted to cause Remus to doubt himself. Your loud declaration had caught the attention of some, but you stood on, curling your fists firmly. You needed to do this.
“I love you.” You said once more, breathlessly, staring right into James’s eyes. Such a beautiful shade of hazel. “I love each one of you. And it. . . it hurts right here.” Tears dripped from your eyes to the side of your chin as you splayed your hand over where your heart rested.
“Because you don’t feel the same.”
The four of them simply gazed at you, slack-jawed and wide-eyed.
You took that as confirmation for what you had been fearing all along.
“And that’s okay if you don’t,” You snivelled, unable to see clearly with the streams of tears in your eyes. You thought of how Sirius melted at Lily’s touch and how Remus was the anchor to James’s wild streak. How they all complemented each other and fit perfectly like puzzle pieces. “Just give me a few months, and I’ll get over it. It’s a stupid crush anyway, it’s my fault. The four of you are perfect together, how could—”
“Shut up,” James hissed before cupping your face and pulling you in for a kiss. Cherries and pumpkin pasties. He kissed you deeply once more before pressing his lips to your eyes, desperately washing away your tears with his devotion. “Was that it? We could have been doing this ages ago.”
“What?” You rasped, knees buckling at the weight of his gaze.
James only smiled, stealing your third kiss.
Sirius pulled your hand, his arm encasing your waist as you stumbled to his chest. Like James, he kissed you fervently, like he wanted to chase off all your fears and doubts. His lips were warm against yours — firewhiskey. You wanted to be burnt by his flames again and again. He held you close, committing every inch to memory.
(You were art that he wanted to worship.)
He kissed your forehead. “We love you, daft girl.”
He kissed both of your eyes, chuckling when a new wave of tears came. “We have loved you ever since you burnt my mother’s howler in fourth year, and gave us poorly-knitted sweaters for Christmas.”
“I love you,” said Sirius. “As certain as the spring that arrives after winter, I love you.”
You snuffled. “I. . . I don’t understand.”
Remus stepped in your line of sight to place his jacket over you — it was Sirius’s leather jacket, really, but Remus liked to claim it occasionally. He bundled you in earmuffs and rested his chin atop your head, exhaling in relief. “I thought it was me.”
You shook your head, clinging to the front of his shirt. “No, never. It was me. I’m sorry.”
Remus grinned wolfishly, eyes swooping down to your kiss-stained lips. (There you were, standing in the snow that threatened to melt, eyes rimmed with tears, hair wildly ablaze from the cold breeze, cheeks damp and red — but how devastatingly beautiful you were.) “May I?”
You nodded. “P-Please.”
Blueberries and dark chocolate. Remus whispered against your lips, “If it wasn’t already clear, the feeling is bloody mutual — we love you, just as the moon loves the sun enough to chase after it every day.” He grabbed your hand and placed it over his heart, you were surprised to see him holding back tears of his own. “All my life, I thought I was this monster who didn’t deserve to live. But you, all of you, make me selfish enough to want to belong here.”
He kissed you desperately, words of adoration and love falling from his lips.
Finally, your eyes settled on Lily. You waited for her reaction with a bated breath.
You hadn’t expected for her to burst into tears as she rushed over to you.
“Don’t you ever do that again,” said Lily angrily before circling you in her embrace, burying her nose in your hair. You hugged her back, drowning in her scent and warmth. “You are deserving of all the things you want, so don’t run away — if you run, we’d follow you, idiot girl.”
Then, Lily captured your lips with her own.
She tasted like happy endings.

Note
Hi Dr. Tingle,
I just wanted to say, as someone who has been in the Homestuck fandom for a long time, that I'm so sorry people connected to the game and the comic have been so unnecessarily unkind to you, and that they've carried on this bit so far past the point of decency. Homestuck as a piece of media is deeply saturated with a very particular brand of early 2010s online irony, and there are some folks in the fandom who just refuse to let it go.
I think there are a lot of people out there who choose to take your sincerity as mockery, because to do otherwise would force them to confront their own cynicism and irony-poisoning and commit to self reflection in a way that they're not willing to do at this point in their lives. I'm not saying they're inherently bad people, because I don't believe that and (based only on the limited snapshot of yourself that you give to the world) I don't think you would either, only that they're making unkind decisions out of a fear of difference. Your work is both delightfully fun and incredibly meaningful, for me and a lot of others, and I just wanted to say that.
I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with this, so I'll just say that I hope your day is going well if/when you're reading this.
Respectfully,
Ray/cultivating-saplings
P.S. I would classify Hussie as a light scoundrel, in a 'season 1 villain who you can tell is eventually going to move into the heroes' apartment later in the show and hang out eating all of their chips' sort of way.
P.P.S. I like your lab coat :]
i do not have a lot to respond with other than I LIKE THIS MESSAGE and i think you are correct not just with this way of a specific fandom but with a HUGE PORTION OF THE INTERNET and a certain age range who trotted up in online forums and various websites.
there is a deep deep deep irony poisoning going on with some of these buckaroos and i think my trot kind of short circuits that and it is difficult for these folks to grapple with it. i think when you are used to every single thing on the internet being drenched in irony and every big reveal of an online presence being some keyboard goofball 'trotting for the lulz' it can be very difficult to see chuck and just accept that i am sincere. i have empathy for this.
i should also add that, of course, not all irony is bad. too much can be very destructive though.
all i can do is keep creating my art and being sincere about it, and i think the longer that continues to more irony poisoning will drain from some of these veins. that is one way i can prove love is real i think.

Tumblr media
I feel... you.
The answer to your question you’ve been asking the moment you opened your eyes.
The clarity you’ve sought ever since you locked eyes with the captain of the Scouts.
I remember you.
Levi kisses you like he knows you, and the rest of the world ceases to exist.
His sturdy hands flutter in a flurry, touching every part of you like he wishes he could have it all.
Chilled palms cup your face, cradling your head as if it's the most precious thing they've ever touched, before sliding down your neck; to the slope of your shoulder, dipping down your sides — pulling you closer, closer, until you’re airborne.
You’re not afraid of falling.
Not with him.
Instinctually you jump, knowing he’ll catch you.
Your thighs clench around his waist as one strong arm supports your weight, unwilling to compromise the position of his other hand. It remains on your cheek, cupping your face to hold your kisses steady.
As the man stumbles forward, you hear the abrupt slam of the wooden chair go flying across the room, skidding to its side on the floor.
It’s loud.
(Surely someone downstairs will hear.)
Hange, Moblit, Erwin — in a best-case scenario, those who stayed behind will be the only privy to the commotion.
However, if the entire squad has returned from the forest...
Well, there's no mistaking the shuffles and slams coming from Captain Levi's room.
Fighting or fucking; the odds are fifty-fifty.
He doesn't seem to care.
Honestly?
Neither do you.
(Too much time wasted on open secrets.)
With immense control and strength, he slowly lowers you both to the bed. The bed frame creaks in its age under the weight, but the mattress feels soft compared to the forest floor you crashed into mere hours ago.
Your back touches the ivory sheets, engulfing you in the scent of him. Something uniquely Levi; crisp and impossibly clean with a musk that’s making your mouth water.
You’ve smelled it in passing the few times he’s passed you at headquarters — always at arm’s length, no matter how close you try to get — but now it’s bound to stick to your body, your clothes —
The way it used to in the Underground.
The way it used to in this very bed.
His kisses are messy yet precise, focused on the feel of your mouth against his. When you let out a shaken breath and whimper, overwhelmed by his reinvigorated passion, Levi outright groans.
The same arm once holding you up snakes around from under your back to meet its twin cradling your face, keeping you in place.
(As if you’d ever wish to leave.)
“I’m sorry,” you whisper between kisses.
“Don’t,” he replies just as softly, tugging at your lower lip with his teeth. “Not now.”
“But—”
“I don’t want your damn apologies,” he sighs, traveling south to pepper your jawline with short, chaste kisses. “There’s nothing to be sorry for.”
When he senses your hesitance, he pumps the brakes on his kisses and raises his chin to look you in the eye. The storm in his eyes has darkened to a damn near black.
His button-down hangs off of his bony frame, giving you a view of the expanse of skin beneath.
“Nothing,” he repeats.
Like he knows you want to fight.
(The two of you know the language of violence so well, but you know one another better.)
The protests, the pleas, the endless stream of begging dies on your tongue the second his thumb grazes your lower lip with reverence.
Emotion flickers across his face, gone as fast as it came, before he dives back in for another kiss — slower this time, the push and pull deliberate with reassurance.
This.
This is what your lips should be doing, not apologizing.
The message is received loud and clear: you tilt your chin to meet him in every kiss, hands blindly raising to run through the soft strands of his black hair. He exhales through his nose, the hot breath tickling your skin.
For the longest time, it’s all you do.
Kiss.
One for every day spent apart.
One for every fight you’ve ever had.
One for every memory you’ve yet to recall.
The puzzle has a frame, yet there are still missing pieces, destroyed edges, that may never return. Maybe he’ll never make peace with it, but knowing you were a stone’s throw away from death surrenders that grief into confetti.
There will be new memories to make.
(As the keeper of your heart, you trust his recollection of the details you can no longer recount.)
This life won’t be perfect, it never has been from the beginning, but so long as you have this — have Levi — then nothing else matters.
“I can hear you thinking.”
The first part of that statement is muffled by a kiss, but he pulls away to check in during this languid, yearning make out session.
Levi squints down at you, lips pink from exertion.
“I’m not,” you lie.
His eyes narrow further.
“Fine. I am.”
“About?”
“About how badly I want you.”
The blatant honesty dissolves that narrowness in seconds.
“About... how you—”
With the strength harnessed by adrenaline, you push on Levi’s chest, hard, until he’s flat on his back.
The bed creaks again when you crawl on top of him, straddling his hips while your hands plant themselves on the soft flesh of his wrists.
Down; you push down, pinning him underneath.
Levi doesn’t tense. He simply stares above, allowing you to do this.
“Want you,” you clarify, “yes.”
His throat bobs, but his expression stays cool.
“Are you sure?”
“Do I look like I’m hesitating, Captain Levi?” you challenge, leaning down to hover over his face.
His hands leisurely flex under your hold, as if to relax them from their clenched state.
For a moment, doubt creeps in.
Even if he’s confessed, there is still so much time unspoken for; so much to talk about, so much that you have missed.
Maybe it’s too much.
The grip on his wrists falters. “Unless if you don’t want—”
With inhuman strength, he uses the light hold you have on his wrists to push up, setting you off balance.
As you waver he quickly finds the upper hand, switching your positions once more so he can pin your wrists to the mattress beneath.
“Don’t even try to finish that sentence.”
To make his point, he drops his head to your neck and plants open-mouthed kisses against the column of your throat. You can’t help but make a strained noise of desire, eyes fluttering shut from ecstasy.
From this vantage point, you feel it — the sheer tension in his hold on your wrists, how desperately he resists clenching down, how gentle he aims to be when he glides both of your wrists from the sides of your face to over the crown of your head.
Levi doesn’t tremble, not like you. He remains as calculated as ever.
His lazy, methodical kisses trail up your neck to your jaw to your mouth. Both of his hands work to carefully connect your wrist in an x-formation. Once satisfied by your compliance, he slides one of his hands over both to latch on, pushing them down — yet still giving you plenty of room to escape if something doesn’t feel right.
(For the first time in over six months, everything feels perfectly in place.)
Panting against his mouth to catch your breath, a floating thought comes to mind once again.
So you speak. “Do you think the others—”
“I don’t care,” he interrupts, capturing your lips in a searing kiss. You follow his lead, tilting your chin up to meet him. “I do not fucking care right now, James.”
His candidness earns him a gentle giggle, and you feel the slightest shift against your lips:
A smile of his own.
You tap his hip cascaded by the disheveled fabric of his white button-down with your knee.
“Then take this off.”
The kisses cease at your request — no, demand — and Levi pulls away enough to stare down into yours.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
Those beautiful gray eyes, stormy with droplets of blue — you realize the deep hurt in your belly is a pang of loss.
You say it before you can regret holding it back.
"I missed you."
His expression smooths with how earnest you sound beneath him, before clearing his throat.
“Which part?” he asks, voice slightly strained from the efforts of holding back.
You blink twice. "Which part?"
"Of me, yeah."
Searching his face, you decide to play along.
“Are you going to get mad if I say all of you?”
His eyes narrow. “Lazy.”
The flatness of his joke earns a genuine belly laugh from you.
Levi lets go of your wrists to sit up, nudging your legs apart so he can wriggle out of the way. You easily comply, careful to leave your boots hanging off of the bed when you widen your thighs.
Stepping away from the bed, he bends over first to remove both of your boots, then his own.
Any other time he’d have a conniption over the dirt, the grime, that you’ve brought into this bed.
(If there was one thing to remember about your past, it was that people from the Underground City could still be just as clean as anyone else. So much time spent cleaning the endless grit from under your nails; an impossible feat.)
Even if dirt was a sin, apparently you were not.
He doesn’t even blink at the specs that may very well still be in your hair.
Instead he’s focused on watching your face as he unfastens the harness at his sternum, shrugging out of his own leather straps. Tossed carelessly to the floor, he rips off his dirtied cravat and ODM gear skirt next.
Pressing a knee into the mattress, he rejoins you on the bed to reach for your chest.
He hesitates, throat bobbing with fleeting uncertainty before he begins to slip the leather through its loop.
“Sit up for me.”
You acquiesce, sore muscles protesting the movement as you prop yourself up on your elbows.
He’s softer with his movements when it comes to your uniform, pulling it apart piece by piece, as if afraid one false move will ruin this dream.
It’s not a dream, you want to tell him. I’m right here. I’ve always been right here. I won’t be going anywhere ever again.
You don’t.
Can’t, not when you’re so mesmerized by the way he pauses at the first button of your shirt.
For a short moment he meets your gaze, studying it, before nodding once.
One by one, deft fingers unbutton your shirt until it’s hanging from your frame, revealing a chest band. All of the air rushes from his lungs in one swift woosh, until you realize—
The scars.
Shit.
The dreamy spell is broken, and soon you find yourself scrambling for something that will quell any negative emotion bubbling in his belly at the sheer sight of your body.
A part of you wants to cover up, act coy and switch roles —
But clever Levi, forever two steps ahead, dives right in to kiss the one of the many healing scars littering your body after the fall — the jagged line just above your left breast — with such fierce devotion that the gesture nearly knocks the damn wind of your lungs.
“Beautiful.”
The murmur is tattooed into your skin, invisible to the wandering eye.
“So—”
He unsnaps the bind.
“—fucking—”
Like a feral animal, his hand tugs once, twice, until it gives and unravels.
“—beautiful.”
Levi forgets himself when his eyes meet your breasts, and you see the way his pupils damn near dilate at the sight.
His lips part, slick from the way he licks between them, before he exhales one single curse like it's a prayer.
“Fuck.”
You stay perfectly still on your elbows, perched on an incline in his bed.
At a loss for words as he stares at your torso like it’s a work of art, your heart hammers in your chest as you telepathically plead with him to simply do whatever he wishes.
Anything he desires, so long as he moves.
Your voice dissolves to a whimper.
“Levi—”
“Can I?”
“Please.”
His own voice crackles like a spark readying a flame. You want to feel him, separated by the absence of muscle memory; to have his hands, his lips, scorched on your skin forevermore.
Levi gives into temptation and kisses south, his nose tracing in a straight line until both hands hold your breasts.
Hot sighs heavily flutter across your skin before those very lips kiss the rising bud they’d been seeking, causing your back to arch clear off of the bed. You whine, trying desperately to stay quiet.
Levi’s too busy worshipping the nipple in his mouth to chastise you for the sound.
His tongue swirls to harden it faster while his other hand massages the other breast, his calloused thumb rolling in the same direction.
Your nails dig into the sheets, anchoring your hands from clawing up his back.
“Levi.”
He hums around your nipple as his answer, its tone dismissive.
When you’re brave enough to open your eyes, you see that his eyes are completely closed — softened in an otherworldly ecstasy at the sheer feel of your body against his.
The sight shoots a dizzying amount of arousal to your belly.
When he switches it up and sucks, those eyes lazily open to stare up at you: a challenge to let him stay like this, to never leave.
He wouldn’t have to ask twice.
If this was your entire night, with Levi’s mouth on your chest while he lives in the memories of you old and new, then you’re inclined to say that there are worse ways to spend your time.
(No, you’re happy to say like this forever.)
Except a chill passes over your pampered breast as Levi kisses across it, abandoning your nipple to trail to the other side —
Fuck.
“You’re going to kill me,” you rasp, too worked up to care if you sound wrecked.
“Won’t,” is all he replies as he dives back in, worshipping your body.
“Will,” you grit, trying your damnedest not to cry out from just how good it feels.
With one final kiss to your nipple, Levi detaches with mercy to shrug the pesky white button-down off of his shoulders.
The fabric joins the mounting pile of clothes on the floor, but his hands hesitate when they touch his belt.
His eyes notably flicker to your belt — a pause.
Deciding.
If it’s too soon—
If it’s too much —
No, you want to cry out. It’s not enough.
The words die on your tongue, possessed by the ghost that’s plagued your mind for months.
Instead you take action: sitting up on the bed, overly eager fingers tremble as they begin to unbuckle his belt, working at the leather straps crisscrossing his thighs and calves.
“James.”
His voice is dying on his tongue; a singular syllable of surprise.
“Let me.”
You notice the way his abdomen tenses at your words as you tug the first belt from its loops.
“Are you s—”
“I said,” you slowly repeat, moving closer to kiss the trail of dark hair peppering just under his belly button. Levi exhales like he’s been punched. “Let. Me.”
Punctuating each word to show your seriousness, your eyes meet as he stares below.
Inch by inch, you press slow, meaningful kisses in his skin — first to the left, curving towards his hip.
Your hands push down the trousers of his uniform pants, using the strength to drag the leather straps wrapping around his legs to fall with them.
Levi stands before you in merely white briefs, and there’s no hiding the immense arousal straining against the thin fabric.
The sight causes your breath to simply evaporate from your lungs, unable to stop staring.
From your peripheral you see the hand at his side flex then snatch into a fist to combat the desire to touch you.
He must feel guilt.
He must be so terrified that this moment will simply evaporate like the rest of your memories.
That you may have woken up, yes, but you can still fall back asleep.
You refuse.
“You can touch me,” you murmur into his skin, and Levi’s throat bobs.
When he doesn’t move, you take the first at his side and systematically uncurl every finger.
He lets you.
Slowly, calculated, you raise his hand until it’s running over the crown of your head. His nostrils flare as he takes control, abandoning the guide of your hand to cup the side of your face.
A gentle thumb smears across your lower lip in reverence.
“I won’t break,” you tell him, knowing he’ll protest. Your voice drops to a hush. “I won’t.”
“I know,” is all he can reply — then your back hits the bed again, and he drops to his knees at the edge of the bed.
Levi disappears from your immediate line of sight, but you feel pressure on your hips: inch by inch, he’s undone the belt and buttons and yanked your uniform down your thighs, your knees, until they’re hanging at your ankles.
Oh.
One by one, he slips your feet from the pants and uses your ankles to widen your knees, bearing you to him at eye-level in just your white cotton underwear.
“Shit.”
A feeble gasp escapes when his lips start at your left foot.
You can’t see him, only feel him — he presses a tender kiss to your ankle then another just above it, creating a careful line up to your calf. His fingers gingerly curl around it to keep you steady as he ascends with his lips touching every single inch he can.
When he reaches your knee, you see it: the darkness in his gaze, how stormy his eyes have become, while making direct contact with you.
“Levi,” you moan, refusing to look away as he makes a point to stare at you while he nudges your left thigh further out to keep kissing it.
Stay awake.
Don’t forget this.
Don’t ever forget this again.
“Can I?” he asks, and you nearly miss the question in your intoxicated, aroused state.
You know.
You know exactly what he’s asking to do.
There’s no chance in hell you’d ever say no.
Wordlessly you nod, but Levi’s tongue darts out to taste the skin of your inner thigh. “Say it.”
(Fuck, when did he get so demanding?)
“Yes,” you exhale. “Yes, I want this. Want you.”
He doesn’t answer with words — a mere wanting growl takes their place.
Raven-black hair tickles your bare skin as he shifts, and strong arms drop to your rope under your knees.
With one swift tug, he drags you directly against his face, and the world becomes a myriad of brilliant colors.
Even if it’s a mere kiss to the cloth of your dampened underwear, you whine from the sheer desire flooding through your veins.
Maybe in another life, you would have teased him for his eagerness.
Maybe before the fall, you would have made him work for it, asked him to crawl to you, to beg.
Not this time.
You don’t have time to be coy, not when it’s been so long.
The tip of his tongue sensually drags up the center of your underwear, the slowness obscene. Your head slams back into the mattress with a soundless cry.
The hot puffs of his breath tickle your inner thighs as he continues to swirl his tongue against the final barrier between you and his mouth.
“Please,” you beg, throwing all dignity to the wind.
He doesn’t seem to hear you.
Levi’s hands grip your hips firmly, keeping you in place as he continues to gather the taste of you on your panties.
When you have the courage to watch him again, you see that his eyes are closed.
Like he’s found some kind of paradise right here.
With you.
“Levi,” you whimper louder, voice terribly shattered, “Levi, Levi, please—”
His moans against your clothed clit damn near scrambles your brain.
Finally ending your torture, he pulls away to tug your soaked underwear down your thighs, your knees, until they drop to the floor of their own volition.
“Been dreaming of this,” he finally states, his voice several octaves lower and cracked. “The goddamn taste of you—”
He cuts himself off when he runs his thumbs down your folds, parting them with his thumbs.
If you weren’t so eager, then maybe you’d be embarrassed by how wet you were.
Dripping, really, from the way he worshipped your chest only minutes ago.
You almost scream when he dives in and kisses your clit, before his tongue languidly glides against it. By some miracle, you don’t.
His thumbs leave you in favor of holding open your legs for him as he feasts, refusing to allow them to close from the shock of the forgotten sensation.
With one hand grabbing the pillow above your head while the other threads through his hair, you’re unable to take your eyes away from how thoroughly he eats you out.
“Oh fuck,” you whisper, and the vibrations of his groans of agreeance damn near take you out.
The captain’s tongue explores every atom of you as if it has navigated this journey more times than he can count; as if he knows you better than you know yourself.
Because a part of you can remember —
The things you like.
The things you don’t like.
The hazy desires that plague heated dreams at night.
Yet Levi reaffirms them, teaches your body language right back to you, as his eyes lift from his task to yours to watch you watching him devour you whole.
Mesmerized, you stare back.
His lips close around your clit and suck as if to challenge you to look away, but all you can do is tense your abdomen and moan, louder this time, while your eyes flutter.
Stay open.
Don’t ever forget.
Lips parted with shaken breath, you witness this man mercilessly pleasures you.
Stares, so he knows that you’re still taken by him.
Worships, so he can remember what it’s like to finally have you in his bed after so many months apart.
It won’t take long to fall clear over the edge.
Not at this rate.
But you don’t want it to be over.
“Wait,” you whisper, “wait, I’m almost — I want you in—”
The second syllable of that word is lost in a sharp cry to the ceiling when he abandons solely sucking on your clit to focus instead on flickering side to side, rapidly, ensuring you’ll come no matter how badly you want to fall into bliss alongside him.
There’s no chance you can stave it off.
Your climax, a damn near year in the making, approaches like a bursting star.
“Levi—” you breathe, higher pitched than usual. “Levi, Levi, Le—”
You can’t finish the next syllable before you're surging off of the mattress, and he shoves you down against it by the hips so you don’t hurt yourself.
The world morphs and shapes into brilliant bright colors in the back of your skull as you come, and you do your damnedest not to shout.
As soon as your moan reaches its peak, your hand manages to smack against your mouth, muffling the strained screech.
His tongue slows down, instead focused on leisurely catching your essence with his mouth.
Greedily collecting every last drop.
So he doesn’t have to dream anymore, you realize.
So he never goes without again.
Panting heavily, your chest rises and falls rapidly as you try to remember which way is up.
“Holy shit.”
That doesn’t even begin to describe how otherworldly you feel at this moment.
“Levi…”
When you finally open your eyes, you see him resting his cheek against the inside of your thigh, nose and mouth glistening with the essence of you.
You’re not sure who is more satisfied.
“You okay?” he asks, softly this time.
Hardly a whisper.
You nod wordlessly, but hold your hand out for him. “Please?”
“Please what?”
“Let me have you.”
A storm flashes across his expression as he stands from the floor, his knee coming to rest on the edge of the mattress.
You can tell he isn’t putting his whole weight on it, avoiding the creaking of the bed frame as he contemplates.
“Not yet,” he murmurs, his fingertips running up and down your thigh absently.
“Why?”
“Because it’s been a while.”
The wandering fingers travel up, toying with the mess between your legs. Your hips jerk from oversensitivity, and a ghost of a smug smile passes across his lips.
“And I’m not rushing this.”
“Why?” you repeat, this time in a whine.
“Like I said—”
He begins, testing the give of your entrance as his middle finger pushes its tip into you.
You sharply gasp, forcing him to instantly stop. Those gray eyes flicker to your face.
“—it’s been a while.”
“I don’t care,” you state. “I can take it.”
“Well I do, so deal with it.”
There.
That commanding tone reserved for his position as captain pokes through, and it shoots straight to your lower belly.
Rocking your hips to try and force more of his finger into you, you shake your head wildly.
“You do realize that the more —”
His fingertip eases out, causing you to cry out in frustration. “Shh.”
There’s only so much sanity left in your body to plead your case.
“It — ah — the more time we spend away from the others downstairs—”
“As much as I like hearing you talk,” he reassures, voice dropping to a husk of its former self, “I really don’t want to discuss the whereabouts of anyone else when I could have my fingers inside you instead.”
Then that same finger suddenly pushes.
One knuckle.
Two.
Your head drops back when he buries his middle finger into you, unapologetic.
His free palm drops to the side of your head as he hovers over you, easing you to relax as he pushes one finger in and out.
The fringe of his black hair falls over his eyes, his face flushed with inexplicable lust.
“Do you remember our rule?”
Do you really expect me to think straight now? is what you want to say.
Instead you keep your eyes on him as he fucks you on one finger, too tight yet not nearly enough. You maintain eye contact, scrambling for an answer.
“With what?”
When his finger curls, you have to bite your tongue not to shriek.
“C’mon, James,” he purrs, the heel of his palm rubbing against your clit, “what’s my rule for you?”
Rules.
Rules, rules, rules—
Then it clicks, the puzzle piece unearthed deep from your psyche.
“Three,” you weakly whimper, realizing just what’s about to happen.
When we had our own place—
He nudges his index finger beside his middle finger, opening you up more.
You widen your legs with little shame, sinking into the sheets as this man thoroughly takes you apart in his captain’s bed.
—I always said I’d give you three.
“Think you can give me it?” he asks with feigned confidence.
You know what he’s really asking:
Is this too much?
Am I moving too fast?
Would this be taking advantage too soon?
The opposite; what he’s doing isn’t enough, because you know what you want.
You need to give him what he wants first before you reach your goal.
Belatedly, you nod emphatically.
“Good,” is all he replies in that baritone voice of his, before dropping down to kiss you when he curls his fingers again, relentlessly fucking you.
The kiss is maddening. Searing. Your eyes roll into the back of your head as you try to keep up with the messy press of lips, all too eager to indulge in what it means to feel alive.
This.
This is what home feels like.
You never had to build it with nails and wood and insulation.
It was always in the person hovering above you, working you open with a sneaky third finger that causes a pathetic strangled moan to die on your lips the second his tongue dips into your mouth.
Relentless.
You’re so far gone that you don’t even realize you’ve already come a second time.
It’s Levi who pulls back, looking down at his hand as he keeps curling his fingers into you.
“Shit, already? Can feel you getting tighter– Fuck, James.”
Shaking from the less intense but no less amazing orgasm, you come silently on his hand as you melt into the sheets.
Stars blur your vision like the first snow of a winter.
Weightless.
Watching Levi pull his fingers out of you to immediately put them into his mouth, licking each digit clean, is an out of body experience.
Nothing to waste, nothing to lose — he relishes in the taste lingering on his tongue before you leisurely nudge him with your knee.
He’s still wearing his underwear, but his cock is practically ready to burst through the fabric. His hardness looks painful, the flush of his skin prominent against the ivory cotton.
“...do we still have condoms?”
Your voice is faint, an exhale at best.
His eyes widen briefly before his jaw clenches, and his hair flutters as he nods.
“Yeah. They… should be expiring in about two months.”
“But not right now.”
Levi considers your inquiry, searching your face. “Not right now, no.”
A moment of content silence passes, his eyes glued to yours.
You want to reassure him that you’re more than ready, that it’s been too fucking long since you’ve had him, that you need this more than anything you’ve ever needed in your life.
You can’t.
All you can do is beg, as you have this whole day.
“Please?”
His head drops in defeat, shoulders slumping.
All of the air leaves his lungs as he leaves your side to rummage in the nightstand by his bed, and you can see it clear as day on the hand that is still pressed to the mattress:
He’s trembling.
Sitting up on your elbow, you reach to gently place your palm over it. His attention whips back to you, first staring at your joined hands before looking back at you.
“Are you sure?” the captain asks, looking for complete and utter consent.
You open your mouth to respond, but Levi curls his fist over the condom foil and sits up taller.
His hand lifts the two of your hands together, switching their positions so your palm ends up on his cheek.
In a tender moment, his lips press a chaste kiss to its center.
“We can wait if it’s too much.”
You shake your head wildly. “It’s not too much.”
“You only just—”
“Levi.”
Exasperated, you crawl around him to slowly hike your bare leg over his hip.
Hovering over his lap, his eyes round when you snap the waistband of his briefs between pinched fingers. Instinctively his hand reaches to steady your bare hip.
“I know you have every good reason to worry that I could change my mind. That I could forget.”
He flinches, if only for a fraction of a second.
“But I never left you. I never stopped wanting to be near you. I never…”
Trailing off, you realize.
The words are right there on your tongue.
The image flashes through your mind: two kids just barely making sense of this cruel world, tangled together, when his whispered words tickled the shell of your ear.
Words that would change your life forever.
“I never stopped loving you.”
With a single blink, the lines on Levi’s weary face soften.
The captain’s throat bobs, swallowing the emotions that come with your confession.
He speaks with a conviction unlike anything you’ve ever heard.
“...I never stopped loving you, too.”
Joy blossoms in the center of your chest as you lean in, capturing his lips in a kiss that seals the promise of forever. He kisses back just as eagerly, his hands leaving your body to push his underwear hastily down his hips.
You hear the tear of a wrapper foil, feel the shuffling of his hands between your bodies, before lining up the tip of himself against your entrance.
You both stop.
Testing the give with a gentle nudge, you both let out a gut-punch exhale.
“Want you to set the pace,” he states against your lips, trying his damnedest to keep his voice from shaking. “Take whatever you want from me. It’s always been yours.”
Yours.
Nose to nose, you allow him to hold his hard and eager cock steady as you wrap your hand around the back of his neck for an anchor.
Levi lets out a shaken breath when you begin to sink, face flushed with sweat and arousal.
No going back.
(You never want to leave again.)
Inch by inch, you ease yourself onto Levi’s cock. Your eyelids flutter from the sheer ecstasy of finally, finally, having him inside you again.
The captain seated beneath you is oh, so focused, nostrils flared as he bites back a heavy groan.
Although it takes baby steps to get there — you rock your hips and fuck the tip of him, your body slowly relaxing enough to take up more of him — you eventually end up seated with your legs wrapped around his waist.
Levi instinctively curls a strong arm around your waist to keep you in place, looking utterly wrecked as he fully submits to your will. His brows are screwed tightly together, eyes struggling to stay open — to watch.
So you watch him, too.
When you lift yourself off of his cock and drag back down to the hilt, you both groan in harmony.
You can’t help it.
A smile bursts on your lips, stretched wide.
This.
This is where you’ve longed to be.
You roll your hips and ride your captain with reverence.
The room reverberates with the sound of skin against skin, your moans and his grunts, the squeak of a well-worn mattress on an ancient wooden frame.
To hell with subtly.
You don’t care who hears downstairs.
Once he has his own emotions under control, Levi memorizes your pace and begins to buck up in a thrust from below.
You gasp, and you see it: he smirks, his own confidence gaining on him.
“That’s my girl,” he groans, his words as finite as ash. “Fuck, there she is.”
The praise has your blood singing, burning, as you bounce on his cock with an urgency to bring him to his long-awaited climax — and your third.
“I love you,” you tell him, earning a bitten-off grunt for him.
“Fuck, don’t,” he begs as he matches your pace, bringing himself deeper. “I’ll cum so fast.”
“Maybe I want that,” you tease.
“James,” he warns, pinching your nipple as punishment.
You can’t help but cry out, head dropping back. Levi takes the golden opportunity to lean in, kissing the column of your neck to mask his own needy moans.
The fingers once rolling your nipple as you ride him glide down your belly until they catch your clit, causing you to collapse into his chest. You whimper, and you can hear the utter filth against your ear as Levi picks up the pace.
“Love you.” You clench around him, causing him to hiss. “Shit, I love you so goddamn much. Feel so fucking good.”
“Levi—”
“I got you,” he promises, holding you up as he pounds into you from below. “Won’t let you fall. Gonna make me cum so hard, s’like you were made for me — fuck…”
He loses his train of thought as his fingers rub your clit in furious circles, desperate to get you to the same edge where he hovers.
Over and over you moan out his name, unable to even think straight as pleasure succumbs and fills every vein in your body.
From the way his rhythm is faltering, you know:
He’s close.
You’re not very far behind.
“I love you,” you tell him one more time under your breath, unable to say anything else beyond that and broken variations of his name.
His thrusts become more urgent as he answers between clenched teeth.
“I love you, too.”
“Let go.”
You wrap your arms around his body to hold him close.
“I’ll catch you, just let go.”
For what it’s worth, he holds on for a few seconds more.
He gives you the performance of a lifetime as he thrusts up into you, running after his orgasm with a desperation reserved for you and you alone.
Then you feel it.
Levi grabs the back of your head and slams his lips to yours in one final, devastating kiss before you abruptly come around him.
Your muscles spasm and clamp down around him, milking him for all he’s worth before he’s moaning loudly against your mouth.
He’s forced to fall off the deep end with you, coming inside you.
You leisurely ride him through your joined orgasms until his hand comes to your hip, stilling your movements.
Eventually the fingers at your clit still, pressing against it to feel its erratic heart beat.
Forehead to forehead, the two of you stay here, catching your breath—
Refusing to part.

If you've been around my blog for the last several months, then you know I got hit with the author curse (seasonal depression kicked my ass, my day job issued an RTO mandate, I was sick a few times, I have a surgery in late February) so the creative juices were not there. Apologies (and the biggest thanks!) to all who have been waiting so very patiently. To readers old and new, I am so grateful for your reblogs, comments, and inbox messages.
So I ask, after five long months away from you: how are we doing, Jevi Nation?

you start living with isagi out of convenience.
you're a long-time friend, someone he's know since he was a preteen and remained incredibly close to years later. you were worried about where you were going to live after college, having finally aged out of the dorm systems.
isagi offers his other room up immediately, though he knows you'll try to refuse. reason being he's barely at home to begin with and it's sort of feeling like a waste for him to own his place when it's a little more like a glorified closet. you've co-habitated before on trips and you're good room mates.
you hesitate at first and enforce that you're still going to pay rent which isagi absolutely refuses. after a while of bickering though, he convinces you to live with him after you compromise on you taking care of some household expenses and bills.
after a lot of hooplah, you move into isagis guest room. he encourages you to treat it like your own since his house barely gets any use and honestly it's nice living with you. your room is across from his and some days your schedules align and you can eat breakfast and hang out. isagis never lived by himself so he likes having you as a roomate.
its fine mostly. isagi isn't super conscious of you until he starts to understand your routine. when you wake up, when you sleep, what times you eat.
it's not until he puts the pieces together one day. how he hears you shuffling in the middle of the night, well past when you're supposed to be asleep. when you go into the bathroom and turn the faucet on but don't flush. it occurs to him that you're probably...
he tests it out one night. waits for you to leave the bathroom before meeting you in the hallway. sometimes he wishes he never did because seeing you makes it so clear.
flushed face, sheen skin, an obvious post orgasm haze. you seem startled by isagis presence but then get over it quickly when he sees you.
"what you're up for?" you ask because isagi is nearly always asleep through the night. he could ask you the same.
"had some tea before bed. just need to pee."
"oh," you rub your eyes and isagi is self conscious of your hands. where they've been and what they've been doing. your fingers are just barely pruned. "okay. sleep tight then,"
"uh-huh,"
you disappear into your bedroom again before isagi shuts himself into the bathroom - fumbling with the lights as his back hits the door. he looks down between his legs, warm flush crawling up his neck and turning him red and the very obvious erection swelling up against his sweats.
shit.

Hihi I am also here with a Christmas hc/suggestion 👀: you and Aaron keep the kids’ presents at grandpa Dave’s bc you know otherwise they’d go on a hunt around the house to try to find them. So every Christmas Eve, Dave comes to hang out and before he leaves he’s like “Aaron do you want to walk me out 👀👀👀” and then Aaron has to sneak the presents back in the house while you distract Jack and Ellie
STOP omg yes!!!!!!!
you're the one who figures out they've been snooping - you noticed things in multiple closets have been knocked over, items are in the front while they're usually in the back, and mention it to aaron. you come to him and you're like, "i think they've been looking for the presents 😳" all flabbergasted LOL. it's funny all the same, it's a rite of passage as a kid, but you don't want any surprises being ruined, or for the realization that santa isn't real to strike - jack still has a few years left in him, and ellie's still practically a baby 😭
hehe aaron finally finds them in the act - you're doing some last minute shopping for his gift 🤭, while he's watching them at home. the two of them have been watching a movie, he's just getting miscellaneous work things done, and when he goes in to check on them, they're not on the couch where he left them, movie's still playing on the screen. and sure enough, he finds the two of them looking under your shared bed.
hehe aaron's standing there with his arms crossed, face all :| and is like, "what are the two of you doing??"
ellie's still toddler age, and loves nothing more than listening to her big brother and following him around 🥹 so jack will put the blame on her 😭 (not in a mean way, a brother way) he innocently looks up at his father and says, "ellie wanted to 🥺" and aaron's all "🤨 yeah alright, this is ellie's idea" LOL
luckily they didn't find anything, but the two of you still bring the presents to dave's, and drop off any before coming home after being out and about.
hehe so when it's christmas eve, aaron gives you that look like, dave's coming soon and they can't see what he's bringing. SO you grab the two of them all excitedly and ask who wants to make some cookies for santa!!!!! which is the best distraction because the kitchen has some distance between the front door, so aaron and dave can easily sneak in and out, head up the stairs with the presents, all while jack and ellie are thoroughly entertained and distracted. and if they somehow notice dave, and they do - he obviously can't stop by anf not hang out with them - you can easily say he came over to help with the cookies 🥰🥰🫢

Maybe I'll write this later:
Poly!141 x Bull Rider Reader
Poly!141 go on a vacation to a cabin owned by Laswell. She let's them know that the county fair is in town the same time as them, and that they should check it out. Says they should experience this aspect of the states. Mentions at the very least they should go and watch the bull riders.
Poly!141 go to the fair. Price thought it sounded interesting, but didn't care either way. Gaz thought that it was a fun idea; definitely wanted to go. Soap was the most hype about going; he was down to go the moment he knew about it. Ghost didn't really want to go. The only reason he did was because he couldn't say no to Gaz's big brown eyes or Soap's pretty begging.
Poly!141 do all of them normal fair activities. They checked out the cooking competition. Trying all the chilies, pies, dips, and cakes. Making bets between themselves on which ones will win.
They play a few of the fair games. Price absolutely dominates at the balloon darts game, and wins prizes for all of the others. Soap tries to his best to win at ring toss; he REALLY wants one of those giant stuffed animals. He doesn't care how impractical carrying that thing is going to be. Try as he may he can't do it though. Soap had given up, and decided to give his last throw to Gaz; who won in one throw! This both delighted and infuriated Soap. Ghost was totally ready to just buy or steal the giant stuffed animal if he hadn't made it.
Poly!141 are finally able to watch the fair shows later during the day. The first they watch is the ax throwing competition. Ghost spends the whole time judging their stances and forms. While also silently admiring the strength that some of them have. Gaz can't stop thinking about how if Price wore a flannel shirt that he would fit right in, and they'd probably lose him in the crowd.
After that is when they go and watch the bull riding competition. Soap is immediately invested in what's happening, and is convinced that he could do this as well. Price is impressed; watching these men and woman willing get bucked around while they could easily get hurt. Ghost spends his time holding Soap down trying to tell him that he can't go down there and ask to do that. Gaz wants to try this for himself, but he knows better than to try it on a real animal. Looks up places they could go and ride a mechanical bull instead.
Poly!141 are instantly drawn to you when you make your appearance. Your smile was dazzling, and they definitely weren't looking at how good your ass looks in those pants.
Bull Rider Reader is an experienced rider. They've been performing since a young age, and has made a bit of a name for themselves within the community. They know how to make a show, and wow the crowd.
Once the show is done Bull Rider Reader runs into Poly!141. Soap is asking questions about how it feels to ride a bull, and how could he do that too. Gaz is saying that they were very entertaining to watch, and asking how long they've been doing this. Ghost is mostly silent; only saying that they did good and wondering to himself if bull riding would come in handy in other aspects of life. Specifically the bedroom. Price is the one who asks Bull Rider Reader if they live around the area or if they traveled for this event.
Poly!141 invite Bull Rider Reader to watch the fireworks with them, and later asks if they would want to hang out a different day since they're still on vacation for a few more days.
Bull Rider Reader knows a bar with a good mechanical bull, and offers to teach them some tips. Poly!141 is instantly down and ready to learn.
The next day everyone meets up and the amount of flirting is through the roof on both sides. Light touches and sexual innuendos are at a none stop with this group. The night ends with everyone having ridden the bull; even Ghost who was easily the best and managed to stay on the longest out of everyone.
Everyone leaves feeling happy and a new number in their phones.
