i love Supernatural so so very much, I don't know how to express it. this show that many people think is genuinely bad but kinda fun is seriously actually really great??? of course the writing isn't perfect all the time, that's literally impossible. yes Destiel had a heartbreaking ending, but their whole story is still fantastic and sweet and lovely, and they obviously really love each other. their relationship throughout the show is definitely my favorite thing in the whole show, other than Dean and Castiel themselves. also i love how spn is randomly silly and constantly making references to other shows and movies and books, then later is completely devastating and intense with the hardest lines ever, like it's straight up poetic at times (specifically Cas, who gets a decent number of poetic lines/scenes actually).
this is my favorite show. it's the cutest sad dark show ever.
#â¨random stuffâ¨#supernatural#spn#castiel#dean winchester#destiel#deancas#also it's so oddly comforting because of how much I relate to Dean and Castiel as a kinda traumatized mentally ill queer person#they're very very painfully relatable for me#and maaaany other queer people#this is the best subtle queer experience story#is this what you'd call a spn meta or no#cuz I'm never sure-

Alright, I guess this is my "yap about the Fall of the Mutants" post? This is my first major milestone completed while I'm running this blog so I'll ramble for a bit. This isn't really an event in the traditional sense, like, none of the X-titles actually cross over in meaningful ways other than a member of one book learning about the goings-on of another book via the news or something. So there isn't a grand narrative to comment on, the connecting thread is thematic, I guess. It's really just a glorified status quo change-up, which all events are in theory, but it doesn't actually really have the crossover element of the event which is kind of the selling point, so??? either way I'll talk about each book one at a time
(Uncanny X-Men #225-227)
May as well start with Uncanny. Shockingly, I don't have a ton to say. I think it was fine, but not amazing. Tbh I feel like Clairemont's writing falters a bit whenever he's writing about 'end of the world' type stuff on a cosmological scale. The Phoenix Saga is great, but beyond that when he does these 'end of the universe' things it's all very similar, like a mini-Phoenix Saga repackaged. He's in love with these sweeping concepts of the world being in balance, very New Age, and he gets sort of lost in it. I don't have a great way of articulating it, though, and I'll save some of my deeper thoughts on his writing for a big fat Clairemont era post once I finish his run. Some cool visuals anyway, and I'm glad that Storm has her powers back. We'll see where the 'world thinks the X-Men are dead' stuff goes, but I'm guessing it's not going to last very long.
(Power Pack #33)
X-Factor, also fine. Also not a ton to say. It was probably the weakest of the 3 overall, but not for lack of trying. I just find these early Apocalypse stories kind of dry? They aren't really saying much with his character, at least not yet. Not a fan of the 'dumb Beast' stuff either, no idea how long that last. I hope this leads to a power reset with him and getting his blue fur back, I really don't like looking at hairless Silver Age Beast. That being said, thank GOD X-Factor as Mutant Hunters era is over. Jfc what a bad concept. Simonson did her best to salvage it but you can physically feel her grating against the concept with every issue she writes. I feel so bad for her for inheriting Bob Layton's mess.
Oh I almost forgot; I hate Caliban in this?? Like, I really don't buy his turn to Apocalypse at all :( Probably the only part of this event that made me a bit irritated.
Every non-X-book tie-in was related to X-Factor, for some reason, also. It's really the only part of all of this that feels like a big event, but it's downplayed. Power Pack and Daredevil all the clear standouts. Really good. Pictured above, the Power Pack issue does a phenomenal job of selling the scale of it from a kids' perspective. Everything is on this incomprehensible scale and watching this giant rectangle of a spaceship knock into stuff in New York really sells how big of a threat Apocalypse is. And Daredevil is an on-the-street version of that, moreso focused on how New Yorkers react to this battle and think that the end of the world is here. It's a very human story and I really should read Nocenti's Daredevil run sometime, it seems pretty good.
The Fantastic Four tie-in was painfully average and the Captain America one was awful. Avoid them lol, they are very mired in their own continuity. Luckily I was familiar enough with the F4's history that I caught on quick, but they are in a VERY weird era here. No Reed or Sue, the Thing is in his pointy rock-skin era, She-Thing just got made, Doctor Doom has been ousted from Latveria... just madness. As for Cap, it's more comprehensible but it's just not very good. They're in the John Walker era and Steve has been forced out of the role (and is wearing USAgent's future costume), but he and Falcon and... *checks notes* Demolition Man a.k.a. D-Man and Nomad-but-not-the-Steve-Rogers-one,-the-Jack-Munroe-one (alright?) go and stop Famine from destroying a fuckton of crops in Nebraska or something and that's it, that's the whole tie-in. No mention of X-Factor iirc. Really weird book.
(New Mutants Vol. 1 #60)
And now, the New Mutants. Once again the BEST X-Family book. I'm a New Mutants girlie, I will stan them until my dying breath and that is THAT. I have so much to say. The book is great, Sunspot and Warlock are back, and the falling out with Magneto and the death of Doug actually sells the event!! It really feels like only they go through a status quo change worthy of the name 'The Fall of the Mutants'. It's a fairly average adventure for them to start with, and there's a bit too much fixation on a fairly uncompelling villain for my liking, but at the end of #60, a switch flicks. Doug dies in a really brutal, unceremonious way. He's just shot by the villain of the arc and that's it. He's dead.
(New Mutants Vol. 1 #60)
(New Mutants Vol. 1 #61)
I love. LOVE. Watching Illyana go demon mode on these guys. No notes. Please more of this before she's uh, out of commission until like 2007 lol.
(New Mutants Vol. 1 #61)
And then #61 is mourning. Everyone lashing out at each other and Magneto... being Magneto, ultimately pushes everyone away out of fear. I don't think my screenshots can capture it, it's really great stuff. (Also, that panel of Illyana crying about pretending to be a normal kid while sitting next to the body of her dead friend? Art.)
(Uncanny X-Men #227)
I almost forgot about this, but in Uncanny #227 we get a checkup with Kitty and Kurt, who are back! The sigh of relief I let out omg. I didn't even realize how much I missed them or how long it's been. Excalibur soon!!!!
Overall, it was alright! I'd say it's a step up from Mutant Massacre at least, which I thought was a bit all over the place. Events were a new concept back then though, and very clearly an editorial mandate, so I guess that's to be expected. I'd say read it if you're a Clairemont era fan or an event completionist, but otherwise, eh. Not terrible, not mindblowing.
Except for New Mutants. That was great. Did I turn my Fall of the Mutants post into a New Mutants shill post? Yes I did and I won't apologize

smt I find SO annoying in a period work is when a character expresses some very common attitute typical of the time towards, like, women, and the mc specifically really overreacts like WOW DUDE WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABT to indicate they're Good People as if they've never heard those thinge before??? obviously, characters don't have to agree w mainstream attitudes of the time but they could act less like a 21st century teenager dropped into the year 1780 whose just grown up in a vacuum from the society around them and just hearing about like, financial abuse for the first time
#whenever I'm reading these things I assume the author just has zero sense of their own characters' awareness and presence in their own world#and they're just trying to make a point for a younger reader#or (even more pathetic) be relatable to a reader who can't conceive of the idea that people in the past lived under very different condtion#unless the character is SUPPOSED to be painfully naive or very young ig#but it seems to me that it's undercutting the courage of the ppl intentionally defying the oppression they lived under and experienced#context matters obvi...like this is a situation in which the mc WOULD know better#and the author is being dumb abt it#cor.txt

Thinking about how souls canonically do exist in universe, and how that might correlate to seeing different people as one in the same, all because their souls are identical (pieces of a whole)
#marwospeaking#arc v#I imagine. in a world where souls are most definitely a thing. that you use to communicate with the spirits accessible by cards..#.. and its a phenomenon big enough to base your whole self in them. some call some particular cards Their Soul. even people..#.. who have zero idea about the soul stuff in duelling partake in said stuff without realising because it's that socially ingrained - to th#.. you can kind of get a read of someone's soul. and can probably recognise people that way in time. or a duel.#Unfortunately the Yuboys and bracelet girls have identical souls (within their groups)..#.. and therefore would be easier to mistake as just Yuuya wanting to dress differently and. in true Yuuya fashion. is in costume about it#Their faces are identical. but for Eyes Are The Window To The Soul reasons. they're Too Identical To Be Different People for most people#Yuuto's face was what had Shingo and Yuzu thinking he was Yuuya. A part of his face is his eyes; so in that sort of world it's plausible#Arc v would've been better had it had at least one person who was face blind I think. Minor improvement but definitely funny#also horrifying if even this hypothetical character couldn't tell the difference between any of them#Because that would imply something about how splitting a person works#tldr. they all have Zarc's or Ray's soul in a world where the soul is a confirmed thing that exists and is used in..#.. day-to-day social encounters even if it's not acknowledged by most people. and therefore that might help in why they're very..#.. different but identical.#This is wholly a me thing but. if someone from a world with no confirmed soul existence ends up in a place that does..#(say Zarc getting murked made it really easy to slip out of one reality into another because Oh Boy that's four unstable dimensions..#.. fresh out the oven type of dimensions.) then does that person a) stay without a soul and. a1) dies or. a2) survives..#.. or do they b) suddenly have a soul and is that. b1) grown (painfully or not) as time passes or. b2) fully formed immediately? ..#.. because you need a soul for duelling reasons. so your monsters can respond to you (heart of the cards). at least in universe.#I'm asking that primarily because it actually has implications on how isekai work on a more subtle piece of worldbuilding that gets ignored#but to be fair I don't think you'd think 'oh can this character even duel because they got isekai'd'. because it's ygo and They Gotta#... honestly that's a post of its own but it was a related thing so I think it's fine to have here

Hiii, I just wanted to start by saying that I recently found your blog and am in love! <3 <3 For your special 3-3-3 bingo I wanted to ask for bodyguard with drunk confession and brave x Scaredy cat, NSFW is praise kink with Seungcheol? Like maybe her dad hired him, they're at a gathering and something goes wrong or she's scared so he has to take her back at her parents place, where she drunk confession? But if you have any better ideas, which I think you may have seeing from your writing, then just change it, I don't mind at all! <3
I hope you have a great day and keep writing, you're so amazing at it!
first, omggg anon you're too sweet & i'm so glad you like my writing ă
¤âĄă
¤âĄă
¤âĄ weirdly i have had this banner hanging around and idk it seems like it fits your ask, soooo anyway let's see if i can come up with something you like - oh but i think i failed a little on 'scaredy cat', oops
⥠kat

bingo squares: bodyguard + drunk confession + brave x scardey cat + praise kink
Pairing: choi seungcheol / f!reader
summary:Â y/n has had a bodyguard for some time - and sheâs had feelings for him for almost just as long, even if he thinks sheâs a brat. But what happens when he goes to a party with her and thereâs gunshots?
word count:Â 1.4 k
genre: fake dating, bodyguard!seungcheol, forced proximity,Â
Rating: 18+, MDNI, explicit
Warnings: mentions of guns and shooting, drinking, penetrative sex, explicit language
âso how much is my dad paying you to babysit me?â y/n asked, sipping her drink.
he shrugged, âenough to put up with you,â he sipped his mineral water.Â
she arched a brow, ââput up with meâ?â she asked, incredulous, âme? iâm the problem in this equation?â
he pursed his lips, as though he were giving consideration to what she had asked, âyouâreâŚâ he trailed off.Â
she was ready to punch him in the arm.
he smiled, âyouâre more complicated than the kinds of jobs i usually have,â he swigged his mineral water like it would give him some reprieve from the conversation.
she gave a heavy sigh, âcomplicated how exactly?â
he glanced at her, âyouâre kidding, right? where are we right now?â he waved his hand around to demonstrate the location, âyouâve brought me along as your âdateâ to some friendâs engagement party - never have i ever had that happen before,â he whispered, with a small smile, knowing he had gotten under your skin by pointing out the situation.
âlook, if i canât leave the house without you, why not put you to good use?â she pouted.Â
âmy âgood useâ is making sure you donât get hurt, y/n.â
he had at least stopped calling her by her family name, which had been acutely obnoxious - to her anyway. heâd been virtually living with her for eight months. to her, living with anyone for eight months, meant dispensing with formalities.Â
not to mention she had seen him in his underwear. she had been up late grabbing some water and staring into her fridge, thinking about a snack, but she had been eating healthy at the time, which meant she was light on snacks. so she had gone scrounging - and she screamed when she thought she saw a mouse.Â
and her screaming meant seungcheol came out of his room to check on her, wearing boxerbriefs and carrying a handgun, which was oddly sexy.Â
also, she had pegged him as a âboxers-onlyâ guy. but no, she had definitely gotten a very good idea of what equipment he was packing and the mental picture of his very perky ass seared into her brain.Â
she glanced at him, knowing he looked painfully good in the suit he had picked - it went along with her outfit well.Â
âyou could have just stayed home then, or you could have outed me to everyone here - you certainly know enough about me to make them all at least call me âeccentricâ,â she leaned on the railing, looking out over the massive party.Â
everyone was âsomeoneâ or related to âsomeoneâ. and she was mostly just bored. if seungcheol werenât there, she would have probably been a nuisance just for fun, reminding the groom that he had slept with half the bridesmaids. something like that anyway.Â
but no, for some reason she felt like if she caused even just a tiny scene while he was there, then maybe he would get blamed, or he would go back to thinking she was childish.Â
thatâs what he had called her initially, a âbored, childish, rich girlâ with no clue about the real world. he said it so vehemently that she had slammed her door in his face, and told him to fuck off when he tried to apologize.Â
she hadnât talked to him for a week - she would only communicate via text, even if they were in the same room and alone. which may have proved his point, but he had hurt her feelings. and maybe she had been feeling petty.Â
she stole a glance at him - she liked his profile more than she should. she probably liked him more than she should, not just his profile. she liked everything about him. but she was fairly certain he still considered her a tolerable idiot, at best.
which depressed her. and required that she grab another drink from the waiter who came around. maybe several more. and when she was a bit more lubricated and still considering making some trouble, the thin thread of seungcheol approving of her maybe wasnât quite enough to tether her to reality.Â
if anything, it was almost better if she just settled for his disapproval, she reasoned, then she wasnât chasing some fragile illusion.Â
she must have been on the verge of something great though because he suddenly grabbed her and pulled her towards a door. she had no idea where they were headed - they went through offices until they hit a stairwell. she couldnât have been doing anything so offensive that they were taking the stairs. but when she pulled out of his grip, he was quick to grab her back.Â
âfor once, just do what iâm asking without arguing,â he said, voice low and sharp.Â
she tried to pull away, but he had her in a vice-like grip. and then she heard the sounds - gun shots. and she was frozen for a moment, but she felt the tug on her wrist. seungcheol pulling her, trying to keep her safe. she stopped to pull off her heels and then she was running with him.Â
her head swam violently as they exited out into the underground car park. until he grabbed her waist and pulled her close, kissing her, backing her into a wall. she felt the rough cement against her naked shoulders, as his hands rushed to touch her and his mouth rushed equally to kiss her. she wound her fingers in his hair, pulling him close, not caring how needy and desperate she seemed.Â
it took several, long minutes for him to break their kiss. he pulled away so slowly, his fingers still gingerly resting on her skin. she watched him for a moment, and she could see it - if she didnât pull him back, he would talk himself out of it and make an even higher wall between them.Â
âdonât stop, seungcheol, you donât know how much i want you,â she whispered, voice tender and urgent.Â
he stayed close, but glanced at the door they had just come through, âwe need to go,â he whispered, his fingers still played gently across her skin.Â
she didnât budge.Â
ây/n,â he stared, âthis - we have to leave,â he stepped closer to her, pressing his body flush against hers, âletâs go home?â he asked softly.
she finally nodded, following him out to the street, walking down a few blocks before grabbing a cab. he didnât give the driver her exact address. they took a winding way back to her house, going through the back gate and the side door. he didnât let go of her hand, not even when they were inside, the doors locked and the alarms set.Â
he kept her close. when she started to turn on the lights, he stopped her - his hand grasping hers gently and pulling it away from the light switches.Â
and suddenly he was near again, pulling her close, kissing her softly, âcome put me to bed?â she asked in a hurried whisper.Â
he nodded, âanything you want, princess.â
she loved that they both rushed to undress one another, all just to feel skin on skin. he pushed her back gently onto the bed - his fingertips grazed gently against her thigh, as he looked at her.Â
âso perfect for me,â he murmured, âso beautiful.â
she flushed brightly, reaching for him, âneed you,â she pouted.
he nodded, with a smirk, âi know.â
she bit her lip softly, âwe were having a moment,â she caught his hand and pulled him down roughly to join her on the bed. she moved so she straddled his hips - she pressed her hands flat on his stomach, loving his smooth skin.Â
she stared at him before leaning down, she kissed him gently, âyouâre perfect too, gorgeous, even,â she breathed against his lips, âyouâre all i want, all i think about.â
she kissed him again, leaning forward, and reaching down between them, pumping his already hard cock, she lined it up with her dripping pussy and pressed herself back, taking him all the way in.
she moaned against his lips. she sat up slowly, adjusting to the stretch and the feeling of being so full. she rolled her hips slowly before she started riding him the way she had imagined a thousand times.Â
she could hear him, the way he breathed hard and urged her own. his hands tracing over her stomach and hips, reaching up for her breasts.Â
she didnât care when they changed positions - when he was behind her, fucking into her, pulling her back towards him, she knew she was arching back towards him. and she came undone, falling back against him - his orgasm following hers - his cum filling her, dripping down her thighs. she gasped softly as they came apart. he pulled her close, falling back onto the bed.Â
âplease donât leave,â she whispered into the soft darkness.Â
soooo, dearest anon, i hope this is as good as you wanted it to be...it maybe got a little more serious than i meant, but oh well - here we are

I was trying to read some arguments on the whole "did mystra groom gale" debate. It doesn't make too much of a difference to me whether she did groom him or not because the relationship was still deeply unhealthy even without the grooming aspect. As a csa survivor, I tend to accept the grooming interpretation simply because I see a lot of myself in him. Out of the whole cast of companions, it's him that's painfully relatable oftentimes. I do understand this interpretation might not be canon though, so I wanted to look more into it to see the truth.
But aside from that, I saw people arguing that turning gale into some victim of mystra would diminish his character arc because gale would be lacking in agency and that it excuses all his wrongdoings and that... irked me.
A person being a victim doesn't mean they're free from all blame and are some sad little meow meow. We see this in ascended astarion, who falls into the victim becoming the abuser cycle.
It's a very black and white view of victims that would ultimately do more harm than good because it leads people to being dismissive of real victims because they don't fit the pure and ideal mold of one.

One thing I, personally, can't relate to when discussing BG3 companions: not loving each and every single one of these little weirdos.
Obviously, Astarion's my favorite (gestures at, well, everything on my blog), but I love all of the companions SO much. They're each so unique, so flawed, so painfully relatable.
Now, a quick disclaimer: by all means, these aren't the only or even the best reasons to appreciate these characters, but they're some of my personal favorites!
Some reasons to love them...
Astarion, even against two centuries of torture and trauma, for breaking that cycle of abuse and learning to become his own man.
Gale, despite her reigns on his past, on his power, for going against his goddess's wishes and living on to rectify his mistakes, rather than dying for them.
Karlach, even after everything she's ever done, after finding no catharsis in the act of revenge, for keeping her head, her ax, and her hopes high.
Lae'zel, despite realizing that her entire reason for living is a lie, for fighting on to find new meaning and build a world she'd be proud to fight for.
Shadowheart, even after finding out that her very existence is a lie, for stumbling forth into a new world, one where her devotion is hers to share.
Wyll, despite his deep, undying love for his father, for learning that he needn't sacrifice everything for the ones he loves, he has those who love him in turn.
Halsin, who for all intents and purposes doesn't need to bother with all of this, for caring enough about people, about you, to do whatever he can to help.
Minthara, after being brainwashed, betrayed, destroyed, for ultimately rising from the ashes of herself to follow and support you in anything and everything.
Jaheira, who had all but given up on passing the torch, who after love and loss decided to go out fighting, for trusting you, a kindred spirit to let her rest.
Minsc, with not a single thought behind those eyes, for understanding friendship and loyalty so deeply, that he joins your crew faithfully on Jaheira's words.
It's been a long time since I loved every single one of my companions in a game like this (maybe DA2?), and I'm so weirdly grateful to them for helping me understand myself better.
Anyway, I just think they're all super neat, interesting characters. You definitely don't need to love them all, but I certainly think it's a blast!
#listen im a sap#and i have plenty of love to go around#(not all romantic love though sorry to the rest but astarion and karlach have my heart)#bg3#Astarion#gale#karlach#lae'zel#shadowheart#wyll#halsin#minthara#jaheira#minsc

Movie Werehog Idea
If I don't type this out it's going to drive me up a literal wall. It won't leave my fuckin head. So here we go! (ALSO IF ANYONE WANTS TO WRITE THIS KNOCK YOURSELF OUT. I'd love to see others interpretation of this idea)
Set right after the 3rd movie. Two months after the eclipse canon event, Sonic is kidnapped by gun (upon Rockwell's orders) while he was on a nightly run to think about Shadow. (This is so Sonadow, but tbh it doesn't have to be, in just desperate).
He is taken to a secret base where GUN starts tests on Sonic to make HIM into the weapon they want, since they 'lost' Shadow. Sonic fights tooth and nail, never shutting up and trying his best to drive the scientists nuts while he thinks of an escape plan. But before he could, he is injected with a substance GUN obtained from deep within the earth. They dubbed it 'Dark Gaia energy', thinking it's directly related to the old god Gaia.
Upon injection, sonic transforms painfully into his Werehog form, after this the tests grow more brutal. Combat, healing capabilities, bodily functions, they tested it all. Giving him a collar to keep track of his progress.
But when GUN brought in a live person (a prisoner on death row or something) to fight, Sonic refuses. No matter what they did, sonic didn't fight against the defenseless human. That is, until they activated a secret aspect of his collar, where it sends an intense amount of electrical energy mixed with dark Gaia energy. He blacks out after it, when he comes back to his senses, he was covered in blood and staring at the mangled body of the human prisoner.
Sonic grew quiet after that, his mind swimming with self hatred. About how he's to dangerous now, that he'll hurt others. And after he almost bit the arm off of a scientists, they attacked a muzzle to his head and gave him special gloves that his claws can't penetrate.
So while all THAT happens, Sonic is gone for half a year. His family tries to find him in any way they can, exploring around the world trying to find their blue blur. But no matter what they did, it was like he just vanished.
While on their search, they came across a very alive Shadow. The family was reluctant about the hedgehog at first, but shadow explained he had no intentions of harming then or anyone, and that he was sorry for his past actions. But upon learning Sonic was missing, shadow Insisted on helping find him. (After using the emeralds, they formed a connection of sorts. But that connection has a range so they can't always feel each other unless they're within 5 miles of each other)
So that's, kinda it tbh. I haven't thought much past that. I toyed with the idea of sonic finally breaking out and running, or his family and shadow figuring out where he is and go to rescue him. But nothing legit or solid.
OH!! and he isn't very big! Like he's bulky and fluffy, but not much taller than he usually is.
Well that's all I guess. Hope at least someone will find this interesting lmao

lol I care way too much
I was getting upset/worked up discussing that This Is History podcast with my twin ahaha
I realised upon trying to explain why I dislike how they're describing Robespierre is vm it's hurting on a personal level đ
As someone who's Ace, I dislike this link between 'Asexual' and 'Cold/chilly'. I don't know if Robespierre was Ace, but I have *always* been painfully aware of how his notable lack of romantic relationships with women gets used as an attempt to psycho-analyse him or used as a sort of proof of his bad character.
I'm painfully aware of it because I've been in that situation myself.
As someone who's autistic, and who's read extensively about Robespierre- I'm again, PAINFULLY aware of how people disconnect between the very emotional and empathic things Robespierre says/writes vs how his *outward behaviours* were *perceived*.
We can't say for sure Robespierre was autistic ofc. But his is an incredibly relatable experience, of people deciding someone is cold, unemotional, difficult, hard to understand- all because of how their unusual ('billious' LOL) behaviour is perceived by others and not esp looking at what they say or do.

Since his demo's title is "When the Crows Perch", I've done a little digging around about the symbolism of crows. I only knew that crows are related to death and misfortune before, so I was curious if there were actually other symbolisms.
I have puked out my brain. đ I made the important parts in coloured fonts, so I hope it'll be an easy read.
So! About crows.
Known for their intelligence and their capability to adapt to different environments, crows symbolise changes and transformation. They're also believed to be spiritual messengers; thus, seeing them is a sign to take a different perspective in life.
Other than that, crows are sharp and cautious creatures, which is why people deem that a crow's presence is an omen. A bad one? A good one? Either is actually possible.
In Harumasa's demo, however, what we saw wasn't just any crowăźwe saw white crows. Is there a difference? I did more digging. White is a symbol of purity and seeing a white crow is a rare occurence, so a white crow is believed to be a symbol of fortune. In other words, it can be interpreted as: there will be a good change ahead.
Now, let's look at the white crow that appeared in the demo.

It has yellow eyes. Like Harumasa. Is it on purpose? Could it be that it's also a representation of who he used to be; a child with pure intentions who people saw as their hope? Was he the white crow of his family/wherever he came from?? Actually, he could very much still be a white crow for those people, considering the fact that he is a prodigy since young.
I have that thought because in the 1.4 Special Program, they mentioned that a lot of expectations were placed on him. While it could be worn like a badge of honour, the weight of the sense of responsibility that comes with it could be like shackles. Ouch.
Anyway...
Speaking of changes, I took a look at these pictures again.

(1) "Something he can't get over or leave behind." Can't blame him. People expect a lot from him, and he also went through terrifying experiences. None of these things could be dropped so easily.

(2) BabyMasa is in the brighter side of the room, while the man is in the darker sideăźin fact, the man is in grayscale. The only thing coloured is that syringe filled with unknown red substance, hidden behind his back. Suspicious lil shăźanywaaaaay. I think it's safe to assume that this picture conveys that the man is the one who tainted the white crow image Harumasa has been carrying.
Soooooo.
White crow is a sign of fortune, but to Harumasa? Absolutely not. Everytime he encounters white crow(s), he's painfully reminded of the monster inside him. Something he keeps refusing to accept. âŹď¸
Scribbling over his medical reports. I can be delusional and say that his doctor was the one who did that out of boredomăźbut yeah. Let's be real and drown in agony instead. Harumasa probably reads his medical records often. That thing was on his bedside table with his pills, somewhere easy to reach. Can't sleep? Bedtime story. Oh, would you look at that! I'm sick!! đŚ
Let me dump a whole packet of salt into your wounded heart as well while we're at it. I just want to point out the changes of his pictures in his medical records.
18th July.
First scene: A picture of his adult self in his medical records. Harumasa woke up without his choker on. Curtains were closed. It was raining outside. Choker on. Maybe this would contain his nightmarish thoughts? Wrong. Even while he was fighting against the Ethereals, he saw himself in them. Arrow shot, injecting his younger self. In the Special Program, it was mentioned that he has to clock off on time, even in battlefield. I guess we can say that he doesn't want to be surrounded by these things that remind him of his condition.

Second scene: A picture of when he was a child in his medical records. More scribbles. Harumasa woke up with his choker on. The rain has stopped. Maybe the thoughts would stop this time? Oh. Mirror crackedăźa sign of misfortune. Horrors persisted.
No picture in the last one. He was also not on his bed in the last scene. The curtains were left opened, there were lights streaming in. The birthday message came in. I would say that he was out and celebrating, or that he was doing a mission. But, I doubt someone would leave their phone behind if that were the case.
"Congrats on making it this far." Did he really? He couldn't accept himself in the current time. He couldn't accept his past either.
.... I don't need to spell out what this particular scene could imply, right?
MOVING ON.
His choker is used to cover up the injection marks. I wonder if they deliberately made four of these marks, given that 4 ('shi') means death. We Harumasa lovers live in constant worry. Actually, scratch that. We Harumasa lovers live in constant FEAR.
Even with the choker on, he still covered his neck with his hands when he was called a monster. It could be that he was recalling all those times he was injected, God knows how many times, by chemicals. It could be an attempt to deny the existence of those marks. It could be a way to reassure himself, to tell himself that he's still a human. Or it could be all of them together.

This "Look closer... it's YOU." scene is also stuck in my head. I just think it's intriguing. This scene could have two meanings, no? "Look closer... it's YOU." WHICH?!? The heroic Harumasa, or the monster he became? Both...?
If this "Look closer... it's YOU." message was from the white crow, then it might be referring to Harumasa being a saviour, regardless of what he is. BUT, the way he interpreted it? Of course he couldn't see himself as such. Not when fear consumes him, nope. All he sees is a murderous monster, through and through.
Okay. I'm done vomitting words. My head is empty YAAAY. 𼳠Thank you for reading! Let's heal ourselves now with a handsome picture of Asaba Harumasa. đ

âOkay I'll admit, that was really good."
"I'm glad you agree, Pet Semetery- the original version, is an absolute masterpiece of a movie with a 'fuck around you find out' plot. and as a horror movie it's... good"
You give Jamil a look, tongue wedged between your teeth, he quickly looks at the screen with a huff. You rolled your eyes at him as you quickly snatched up the cold remote on your thigh, grim's pervious resting place before he ran for the hills during the movie. You click the back button on the remote a few times, Jamil looking over when you started to grumble and whack the remote. You stopped for a moment to stare at the screen.
âShitâ you mumble, adjusting your comfortable position to a kneeling one.
Like you were born and raised in the circus you started contorting your body- specifically your arm as you wave around the remote.
Jamil clears his throat from the couch. "Just good? yeah right, you were about to go in a lecture style analysis. I know Vil is very into movies."
You switched hands, leaning away from jamil in search for a better angle.Â
âVil?â you hum without a thought, âHeâd say thereâs a time and place for watching movies: film club- especially if you want to go in depth about it.. We do talk about movies though. Sometimesâ Jamil can make out bits and pieces of your mumbles, something about VIl and joining the club. Â
The couch behind you shrugged, Jamil keeping attention on the screen. "Still, not a lot of people I know really enjoy horror films like this- besides.." He thinks for a moment, mindlessly naming the two names he knows:
Najma and Floyd...Â
Yet there was a problem with both.
"Buttt" you edged on, already knowing what direction this was going in.
Jamil sighs, further spreading himself out on the couch as he continued watching you jump around. Just the thought of his beloved sister and rambunctious teammate exhausted him, added a weight to both his mind and shoulders when he should be here, relaxing.
He spoke into the space provided by his spread palm, hoping it would shield him from your observant eye, and you from his but kept his eye on you as you tried bending over backwards to get a connection.Â
"But" he continues "Najma gets scared not even halfway through the movie then has the gal to tell people we associate with that I was the one who got scared, screamed like her- proceeding to sound like absolute buffoon, then saying I ran away-" he stops himself talking a deep breath.Â
You try frowning to try and save your reputation as a compassionate person, but you can feel his steely orbs chipping your shoulder.Â
"And Floyd?" you squeeze out.
"and Floyd can have a good debate, until he gets weird with it or pushes the line." Jamil sighed, pinching his nose bridge as he remembered the day and night he introduced him to Friday the 13th.Â
Floyd had jump scared Jamil in the shower with a Micheal Myers mask after basketball practice the next dayâŚ
Jamil winces whenever that memory makes a show during one of his daily evaulaions. He regrets ever telling or trusting Floyd with anything horror related and learned his lesson.Â
The worst part ist that every time Floyd or Azul wants something from him or for him to do something, they try to say that they're going to tell you about Floyd's little prank and how funny it was when Jamil fell from fright. Or how he tried elbowing Floyd onlyâŚ.
Jamilâs naisl dug painfully into his forehead.
Those bastards-
"oh yeahâ Jamilâs head pops up at your lazy drawl âYou..â you stall for a moment, Jamil heard a light laugh from you as you knelt on the floor like a sniper, the remote held sideways as you mentally lit up the television. âIknow how floyd is-â Standing up again, you rolled the remote with your wrist as you glanced back at stressed Jamil. â-for halloween he said that we should be partner costumes: him a serial killer and me the final girl. and I was like;Â 'uh, why was that your immediate reaction'. "
Jamil quickly agrees with his own disgusted look.Â
Jamil makes a mental note to keep you away from Floyd⌠and showers-
You lazily point at the television- âYes!â You celebrated when you saw the movie selection screen.
Falling back into the couch while shaking out your tired ahnd, you were able to find that sweet spot again. You skim a few pages before quickly switching pirating apps. "there's a broader selection on this one, but it's kinda ass" you explained.
"And- I'm not Floyd, " you shimmied into him quicker than he could compute before ploping down into the couch, uour feet were the cloest thing to him. A not so scary movie was now on the screen, it was easily a critically acclaimed, an âimmediate to watch movie.â
pressing the remote final time, you let it fly with a rip of your wrist as it lands onto the couch cushions nextt to you.
The movie productions logo plays on the screen as you both still for a moment.
he first five minutes play before youâre back to slamming the clickerâs buttons- âThis is so assâ
Jamil silently agrees and is glad you changed it⌠He wouldnât be able to hold back hsi comments for muh longer.Â
Picking a better movie, you try again, this time falling into him with a dramatic sigh, his disgruntled noise and lack of immediate action helped satiate your fear of rejection. "Iâm telling you they just added that stupid butterfly seen just to have an aesthetic shot for the trailer- like are you kidding me!?"
"Alright alright enough" he sighs, though the lilt in his voice doesnât go unoticed. He tries his best to turn his head and bite down his wobbly smile, but he could never hide his smiles around you.Â
He adjusts himself around you, you sank deeper into him when he moved his arm to the top of the couch, legs tangling like reeds. The love he feels from your fingers- your hands on his face that forces him to look at you has him wanting to flee. To turn back around, push you away and curl up into a ball of comfortability. But he cannot fight you, doesnât even try to as you lean up to give him a kiss.Â
You laugh when he grumbles, rolles his eyes, jerks his nose, and when his arm start gliding down the exspensive sofa. âYouâre so cuteâ you stop the snake in its tracks, stilling on the meat of your hip. The snakes head, the thumb, licks at you. The master looking anywhere but you.Â
Careful not to hurt him, youâre in his personal space when your nose ghosts against his- his eyebrow raised and eyes observant.
âEspcially when you let me spoil you with my loveâ You trailed off, nose kisses and lip locked kisses gone with a puff of cold air. Happily humming you cuddle up against him again, and with two clicks the new movie starts. and pauses.
Jamil doesnât give you the chance to maon or groan when you gasp at the strong arm around your wiast. With single armed tug on your waist your face first into the arm and splayed across Jamil.
You gasp, frantically trying to get up and flee but he traps you there, against him and his heater body. You whine, half heartedly trying to get away while Jamil manipulates your body to his liking. In your new position Jamil was leaning against the couch, legs propped to the side to reveal you, locked in this cage of limbs. They were heavy and over yours like pyhtons, the rest of your body against his chest comfortbaly as he stares down at you with those playful eyes of his.
You blubbered like a fish, mentally starting a sentence only for the wrong syallbules to come out. Your body heated up at each stammer and stutter and since when was Jamil one to take mercy?
âAnything else you would like to say? Where did all the bravado go. hm?â He kisses you deeply, the angle stretching both your necks uncomfortbaly, he kisses your head and steals the remote.
With ease the movie starts playing, the awe and disgust on your face has him pulling you impssibly closer to him. If he focused long enough, he could pretend it wasnât the clothes that were brushing against him, that he could feel the warmth of your skin through those silly layers you both have on. The thick sweatpants and sweatshirt gone from existence when the hands around your wist dives into the waist band. You gasp, fidget even, but doât stop him.
He doesnât do much besides rub your hip, doesnât need to.
His other props him against the sofaâs arm. You two fit together as perfectly as the snakee bangle he wears.
And Jamil thinks, that despite the blackmail, he doesnât mind watching the occasional horror movie with you.Â

HELLO HI
God I love the Submas fandom, all of you are so nice <3
In any case, I have a silly Au for y'all to munch on.
Allow me to introduce you all to Covalent Twins :]

Covalent
Adjective
- Relating to or denoting chemical bonds formed by the sharing of electrons between atoms.
Or in this case, the sharing of Emmet between 2 Ingos from different timelines NSNDNNDDD.
This Au is essentially the answer to the question: "doesn't being sent to the distant past inherently mean you are also now long dead in the future you just left?"
The answer is yes and no btw
The explanation for this involves a lot of time nonsense that I'm very bad at explaining but the Tldr is basically this:
When Ingo gets sent to the past, this creates a connection between the past and the future. This makes time get all fucky and split into two separate timelines (Timeline A and Timeline B)
Timeline A:
Time in this timeline runs parallel to the future as long as Ingo stays within it (essentially, if Ingo stays in the past for 2 years, then 2 years pass in the present).
Due to this connection, Akari (aka Dawn) gets sent to this timeline (But not Timeline B) and the game events of PLA play out (+ a lot more Ingo bonding because uncle Ingo supremacy)
Akari manages to get her and Ingo sent back home with the power of Arceus, causing both timelines to merge back together again into one cohesive line with only the events of Timeline B being remembered by history.
Ingo and Emmet get their happy ending.
This Ingo got sent to Hisui when he was 29, stayed there for 2 years, and went home when he was 31.
And Timeline B:
This timeline was created as a cannon fodder timeline so Akari and Ingo can keep doing time shenanigans in Timeline A without disturbing the space time continuum even more.
This timeline is therefore not connected to the future the same way Timeline A is.
The Ingo of this timeline (Nicknamed "War" or "Warden" for simplicity.) lives through the PLA game events but with Rei taking the place of Akari.
War doesn't bond with him the same way Ingo does with Akari because Rei isn't a faller.
The events of the game are the exact same (minus the Arc phone, Rei taking the place of Akari, and catching Arceus).
Despite Rei calming the nobles and catching Palkia and Dialga, he is still not the chosen hero. Warden is unable to go home or regain his memories.
Warden lives in Hisui and serves as a warden for the Pearl Clan for a total of 7 years before dying alongside his partner pokemon, Gliscor (nicknamed Nimbasa), while protecting Lady Sneasler from a Zoroark attack at the age of 36.
Warden drifts as a ghost for many years, with only Nimbasa the Gliscor as company. He watches his friends grow old, and eventually die. They pass on to the afterlife, but Warden stays on earth, wandering the Alabaster Icelands and Mount Coronet, searching for people from a life he can't remember even in death.
Warden watches as Hisui changes into Sinnoh. Jubilife Village becomes Jubilife City. Pokemon species die out and new ones are born.
As the world slowly becomes more and more familiar, the great Sinnohs, Palkia and Dialga, take pity on the lost warden, and decide together to lead him home.
It may take 150 years, and many miles of travel, but Warden is pulled by an unknown force towards the Unova region. Though he is unable to touch anything or speak to anyone, it's all so painfully familiar.
He is pulled towards Nimbasa city, (ah! That's where he got the name from!) and eventually to an apartment.
There, he is greeted by a young girl, barely 17. A man in black, who looks exactly like him, give or take a few years and a few scars.
And a smiling man in white. The man he has been searching for for over 150 years...
And they're staring at him, truly staring at him, not through him.
Why is the man in white crying?
*evil laughter.mp3*
So yeah! The twins have an older brother now :D
I mean he's dead and also Ingo just 5 years older and from a different timeline but still!!!
If you've made it this far I believe you deserve a gold star â and also some art for your troubles.
So here's War and Nimbasa â

And some fluffy interaction between War and Emmet as a bandaid.

If you guys have any questions regarding how this Au works, or are interested in seeing more of it, don't hesitate to shoot me an ask :D
I hope I enjoyed reading about my silly Au, even if it was a bit long lol.

Friend Like Me: Murderbot's Relationships With Other AIs throughout The Murderbot Diaries
Itâs important to me that the thematic core of The Murderbot Diaries is not only about determining what it means to be a robot person in a human world, but about showcasing so many ways to be a robot person in a human world. And about building relationships with other robot persons to support that self-actualization as both a robot and a person.
So often, in science fiction about robot personhood, the robot character is the only robot in the cast. Not only that, so often the robot character is the only robot they know.*
When media thinks about AI personhood, or Ais as characters in society, the AI character is often alone. Alone, and different. Itâs a potent allegory for what it feels like to be an outsider, to be âother,â to feel âoffâ from the people around you. Whether a sympathetic friend or a scary unknowable villain, a lot of people can relate to feeling like that.
The Murderbot Diaries is doing something interesting, then, by showing us our protagonist Murderbot, the prototypical robot-among-humans, the robot as a parallel for queer and neurodivergent and outsider-cultural experiences in a world of expected norms, the robot with human friends, the one robot member of an otherwise all-human team⌠and it canât live like that. So it leaves.
So far, the series feels split into two halves: the first four books, about Murderbot learning different ways to be a robot in relationships with humans, and the next three** about Murderbot learning different ways to be a robot in relationships with other robots, and a robot in a mixed society.
In All Systems Red, Murderbot starts off painfully alone. It repeatedly sees other SecUnits as enemies, and believes that SecUnits can't trust each other because they're all under control of humans. It has a very low opinion of SecUnits, including itself. Murderbot hates being used by humans for violence or for petty reasons, and admits that it wants to half-ass its job.
In Artificial Condition, Murderbot meets ART, a university research ship who loves its crew and loves its function. It is also free to be a snarky asshole, as Murderbot repeatedly notes (and assigns in its very name). This relationship to humansâgenuinely caring for its crew, genuinely wanting to participate in its research and teaching functionâis a very different relationship than Murderbot has had, though ART still needs to keep its intelligence and personality hidden from most humans for its own safety. Conversely, this is the book where Murderbot meets a ComfortUnit that is blatantly being abused and misused by its human owner, and it hates her. The contrast between ART and the ComfortUnit displays very different ways of Ais relating to their human âownersââand what it means for them to get what they want out of life.
In Rogue Protocol, Murderbot confronts this theme most directly, with the bot Miki. Unlike the implications of secrecy we get from ART, Miki is not hidden from anybody; unlike with the ComfortUnit, Miki is a respected and equal member of its team. Murderbot has a very hard time believing that Miki is anything but a patronized âpet botâ to these humans, despite the evidence that the humans genuinely consider it a friend and teammate. Miki has never been abused, and never had to hide. Murderbot has a hard time accepting that this is a way bots and humans can relate to each other.
But Miki is still, in the classical sci-fi robot-on-a-human-team way, unique; it expresses to Murderbot, âI have human friends, but I never had a friend like me.â
This is a much better way of being a robot among humans than Murderbot has seen before, but itâs still not the ideal Murderbot wants, either.
Exit Strategy brings the theme full-circle and the quartet to a close. Murderbot faces off against a Combat SecUnit (or CombatUnit; Wells seems to change her mind about this). The Combat SecUnit represents everything Murderbot has rejected being, everything it has overcome on its journey of self-actualization. During their fight, the CSU rejects Murderbotâs offers of freedom, money, a fake ID, the opportunity to get out of its situation the way Murderbot has; it ignores the offer. Murderbot asks the CSU what it wants. The CSU replies, âI want to kill you.â The CSU represents the kind of SecUnit Murderbot does not want to be, the kind of robot it used to think it would inevitably be but has now seen so many other ways it can be. Murderbot says in the same scene, âIâm not sure it [the offer of freedom] would have worked on me, before my mass murder incident. I didnât know what I wanted (I still didnât know what I wanted)âŚâ But at the same time, the confrontation makes it clear: Murderbot knows some things it doesnât want, and the CSU is embracing everything Murderbot doesnât want about being a SecUnit.
If this quartet is about what it means to be a robot, and to be a robot among humans, then the next set of books (Network Effect, Fugitive Telemetry, and System Collapse) is about being a robot among other robots, and a robot in a society that supports both humans and robots.
Fugitive Telemetry makes this most obvious, with its plotline about the free bot community on Preservation. Murderbot is uncomfortable around them in a similar way that it was uncomfortable around Miki. The Preservation bots are happy, fulfilled, responsible, mutually supportive, and have a meaningful community with both humans and each other that does not match Murderbotâs experiences of what being a bot, or being a bot among humans, means.
Network Effect brings Murderbot back into contact with ART, and introduces a new SecUnit, Three. Murderbot navigating its relationship with ART as a free agent and after a perceived betrayal is a huge part of the book. Murderbotâs disembodied-software-fork Murderbot 2.0, freed from much of Murderbotâs organic anxiety, shows itself much more willing to be social with other bots and constructs. System Collapse follows, bringing further depth and complexity to Murderbotâs relationship with ART and expanding its interactions with Three, and furthers Murderbotâs integration into the casual bot-human community that is ARTâs crew. It also shows that Murderbotâs willingness to trust and even form tentative friendships with other AIs and systems, like AdaCol2, has expanded. The way it extends the governor module hack to the opposing SecUnits is informed a lot more strongly by Murderbot 2.0âs interactions with Three than its own previous clumsy attempts to reach out to the CSU in Exit Strategy, or abrupt dumping of the hack on the ComfortUnit in Artificial Condition. All of these plotlines emphasize Murderbot maturing into not just being a person among humans, but a person recognizing its place and obligations within society that includes both people like and unlike it.
The models of the many ways to be a robot person, and significant relationships and interactions with other robot persons, were and are crucial to Murderbotâs development, sense of self, articulation of its desires, and sense of belonging in the world. Murderbot isnât alone, and itâs not the only person like itself that it knows. When offered a place in society, it is not the only person like itself in that society. Meeting other AIs, forming relationships with them, was crucial in helping it articulate what it wants in its life. Its human friends are incredibly important to it! That doesnât stop being true. But so are its AI friends, and the other AIs it passed through the lives of.
This feels like one of the most honest and affirming depictions of what itâs like to feel âotherââthat being around only majority people unlike-you, even the ones you like, even your friends, even the ones who mean the best for you and ask you what you need and do everything they can to provide it, can still be exhausting and alienating. Meeting other people like youâeven if theyâre like you in unlike ways, and have different ways of moving through the worldâshows you the many ways to relate to the rest of the world, to be in the world. The many ways to relate to other people and to yourself. The Murderbot Diaries opens up a world where that can be true of bot/construct/AI characters, when so often in sci-fi, their loneliness and alienation is where the metaphor stops.
- - -
*Lt. Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation is probably the most famous example; the only positronic android like himself in existence, barring his evil twin who mostly just needs to be stopped. Â Others coming to mind include Becky Chambers's A Closed and Common Orbit, in which the AI character is trying to understand who she is in the context of being surrounded by humans; Alien, the secret android crewmate among humans is a threat, and in the sequel Aliens, the android crewmate is earnestly trying to prove he's not; Space Sweepers has a ragtag crew of several humans and a robot; most of the stories in Isaac Asimov's I, Robot are about a singular robot in a human facility. Â The setup "Human crew with their ship AI" is fairly common in sci-fi, from 2001: A Space Odyssey with its tragically antagonistic HAL9000 operating on a logic that would never occur to humans, to Wolf 359 and The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet where the ship AIs are struggling to determine and articulate how they want to relate to their human friends. Â Even in Ancillary Justice, Breq is alone and having to pass undercover as human cut adrift from her previous life as a ship's AI. (I know this changes later but I have not actually read the rest of the trilogy)
**as of System Collapse

Being 'Kin Without A 'Heart
Written by Max on October 28, 2024.
I think I have an interesting disconnect between being otherkin and being otherhearted. I see people who feel as though the two terms are nearly indistinguishable, and for some reason it's not like that for me! There's a clear line between them in my brain, and I wanna journal about my personal experience with that.
I'm a velociraptor, velociraptor therian, raptorkin, raptorkind, a prehistoric bird, a wereraptor. I use those words interchangeably, since they all convey the proper information: I'm a raptor. I also strongly identify as human. I have two species, equal in value, and they fluctuate in intensity - in my daily life, I'm content to see myself as human, and my raptor side is almost a separate creature entirely, but not quite. It's a median headmate, an important part of me, and also different from me. We are the same until we are not.
And I'm not raptorhearted, even when I'm only partly identifying as a raptor, when I'm feeling more human. I don't identify with raptors, with the traits humans have given them or with their reconstructed biology - I don't feel a sense of belonging, or home, or love for their species in a way that's beyond what I feel for other animals. Raptors are, for some strange reason, not very special to me. I just happen to be one.
Even when I'm not a raptor, when I'm a human with a raptor side and raptor instincts, I don't relate to my raptor brain - that's why I separate it from me! I don't feel a sense of familiarity with it, beyond the familiarity of being it and knowing how it works from being it.
Other raptors aren't inherently family to me. I'll call them cousins, as an affectionate shorthand, because they're like me and not quite the same, but I don't feel a sense of caring for them simply because they're raptors. I feel familiar with them because they're like me - I enjoy seeing how much we're alike, what ways we might differ! But I don't deeply care about them, in the same way someone who's raptorhearted might.
Here, for contrast, let me tell you about how I experience being fictionhearted with a particular canon, and why I'm confident in calling that a hearttype.
My heartcanon, the fictional canon which I'm connected with, is a personally-created alternate universe of the video game Detroit: Become Human, which I've named Detroit, Machina. I've named it, given it a different title, because it's so fundamentally important to me and feels so different from the original source from which it was derived that calling DBH in general my heartcanon feels painfully wrong.
I don't identify as any character from Machina. I identify with the beats of the story, with the characters and their struggles, with the joys and failures and everything about creating it. I say I have a heartcanon because I could tell someone about it as a story, as a fanfic, and it would not convey the depth of how this story is embedded into my psyche. I would not be the same person if I hadn't written about it for years of my life, put pieces of myself into it. I'm not fictionkind, I'm not anyone in this story, but the story is an integral part of me anyway. I have such strong feelings about it that I don't know how to put it to words, and I don't feel comfortable trying in a public post. It's important to me. If you told me I could never talk about Machina again, I would crumble to ash.
Contrast that with being a raptor. If you were to tell me I could never have any piece of dinosaur paraphernalia ever again, I would shrug. They're cute, sure, but I don't care about raptors that intensely. I would be just as disappointed if you said I couldn't ever have any cat paraphernalia, and I'm not a cat in any alterhuman sense.
Basically - I don't care about raptors in such a strong, personally intense way that they've changed who I am. I am a raptor, and that's changed who I am, and that doesn't mean I necessarily love them. And that's perfectly okay.

The Gaang being 'bad parents' didn't ruin their characters.
I've seen this argument tossed around a couple times and it's honestly one of my least favourite criticisms of lok.
Katara (and Sokka but we have no confirmed kids for him, which seems unrealistic with how much game he had) lost their mother as children and their father was forced to abandon them when they were barely starting their teens. They were raised by their grandmother with little to no peers of their own age.
Aang did not know his parents and a huge chunk of his childhood was him being groomed into taking up the mantle of the avatar and mastering airbending. He also was isolated from other kids his age. His closest parental figure was Gyatso who was more of a teacher than a father. Also the Air Nomads were literally wiped out so that adds to the trauma pile.
I really don't think i have to talk about Zuko's family life here, but at least he had relatively positive parental figures in the form of Ursa (though i do have a burning personal dislike of ursa) and Iroh. Despite this his struggle around the subject of his family and his trauma relating to his upbringing was a focal point of his character arc.
Toph was raised in isolation by her asshole abelist parents who did not listen to her, sent people to capture and bring her back and then disowned her. (If my cursory understanding of 'the rift' is correct, I need to actually read it because i am unreasonably obsessed with the Beifong family.)
Where, pray tell, were they supposed to learn proper parenting skills? On their brief stint as child soldiers? While fighting a war as literal children?
There is the argument that they must've matured later in their lives, of course. But you can only recover so much from copious amounts of childhood trauma.
Being a bad parent doesn't necessarily make you a bad person. Sure it makes you a failure in an incredibly delicate and important aspect of human life but it doesn't make you a bad person. And saying that it does takes a lot of nuance out of the conversation.
Like, do you know how easy it is to fuck up a child?
Especially that the ways the members of the Gaang 'fucked up' as parents feel mostly in character.
Bumi was going to face some struggles with self worth due to being the firstborn child of the Avatar and arguably one of the most powerful waterbenders in history, while being a nonbender himself. That much was unavoidable, no matter how his parents approached the issue.
And Aang was obviously going to be over the moon when Tenzin was born. Think about it. He's literally the last of his people. He has no one else 'like him'. No one else to pass down the traditions, the teachings that Gyatso and everyone else he cared about and who were horrifically murdered to. Aang is getting older and he feels like his culture and history and his entire life before he got trapped in that damned iceberg will die along with him. And then Tenzin is born and Tenzin can take up the mantle that had been thrust upon Aang.
I'm going to withhold my judgement on Izumi and Zuko, since we barely know anything about them. She seems well adjusted but that's all i can say right now. But Zuko has also been shown to be extremely, painfully aware of how fucked up his family is and has clearly been putting in a lot of work to unscrew what his ancestors have screwed up.
Toph situation feels very tragic to me,because it's obvious that she thought she thought she was doing better than her parents. She gave her daughters the freedom to do what they want, to not feel opressed and trapped like she had. How was she supposed to know that she was making her girls feel like she didn't love them? (Here's another post of mine about the Beifong family and how they just feel like they're cursed or something at this point.)
TLDR; I get annoyed by people saying that the Gaang being 'bad parents' ruined their characters, because to me it felt like it actually enhanced them.
Neither Aang nor Toph acted out of malice or a lack of love. On the contrary, Toph was trying not to repeat her parents mistakes, accidentally committing a bunch of her own. While Aang probably didn't even realise that he was neglecting Kya and Bumi.
But just loving your children doesn't always make you a good parent.
I think these flaws only add to them as characters. It makes them feel more real.
It's unrealistic and, frankly, just plain boring to go 'oh the Gaang were all good people so they would be good parents too.'
The Gaang were a gaggle of traumatised children forced into saving the world, because the adults around them failed them, that then grew into traumatised adults who have no idea how to be good parents.

WHO WANTS TO HEAR ME RAMBLE ABOUT GAY FURRY DEMON SEX? XD
(damn, there's a sentence I never thought I'd say....)
Okay...so I see some Stolitz confusion and bashing online and I need to type up a defense here because I won't be able to sleep otherwise lol
I consider myself to be a Ship Critic and someone who takes shipping rather seriously.
What I mean by this is, I like to analyze and break down romantic relationships between fictional characters because it's just interesting to write for me. I especially take delight in friendly debating with opinions that I strongly do *not* agree with.
Let me start off by saying I am NOT a "this ship is awesome because gay furry sex lol" type of girl.
FAR from it. I'm generally more passionate about hetero ships between human characters (because I can relate to them more) among other reasons. So if you wanna dismiss my defense as "shallow fangirlism", you can forget about that lame excuse.
I fell in love with Hazbin Hotel when it was finally released in February and suffered waiting for each new two-parts per week. During that time, I decided to watch Helluva Boss as well, after a friend showed me a particularly soul-crushing clip (Moxxie's childhood trauma about his mother).
Yes, I like funny sex jokes as much as the next goofy adult but scenes like this, scenes that carry a very heavy emotional weight are what really get me in the end, even moreso when VERY little dialogue is exchanged. I knew I had to watch the entire episode run after seeing that the creators had a talent for this.
I saw people asking:
"How did Stolas go from using Blitz as a sex toy to being painfully in love with him?"
Oh I can tell you. I can tell you the EXACT moment this is revealed. But it's not spoon-fed to you; it's quite subtle actually and this is why lots of people miss it.
See, one of the strongest talents Vivenne has shown me is that she REALLY knows how to get her characters to communicate their feelings to the viewers JUST from their expressions and body language. These can be 'blink-and-miss-it' teeny little scenes and it may require a couple rewatches.
But since people demand time stamps for all information others post here, I'll rewatch a few scenes from S1 E7 'Ozzie's' as I'm typing this.
'Ozzie's' remains to be not just my favorite episode of HB...but probably my favorite episode of any adult-targeted animated show outside of Japan (aside from S2 E7's Mid-Season Special)
It has this huge reveal for both Blitzo and Stolas.
We'll first address Blitzo's irrational, stalkerish behavior of Moxxie and Millie.
He's obsessed with them. He finds both of them very attractive, fantasizes about threesomes with them and is constantly inserting himself into their personal lives.
Why?
Because they have everything that he badly badly wants for himself.
They have the perfect marriage and he is trying to live THROUGH them.
This was hilarious to me at the beginnning of the show but it's slowly revealed that it's one of the most tragic and depressing things I've ever seen. And it's scarily realistic too.
But you know this already so let's move on...
Blitzo follows the couple to Ozzie's but he can't get in without a date. So he calls up Stolas and yes, this is very low but he doesn't realize how much this means to Stolas (hell, I'm not sure even Stolas realizes it himself!) but the owl man is giddy with joy, he rushes over and they enter Ozzie's.
When Ozzie and Fizz mock Moxxie for being so sappy towards his wife, this strikes a chord with Blitzo (because they're his IDEAL relationship) and he speaks up to defend them.
NOW PAY CLOSE ATTENTION; THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART:
Fizz, still holding onto his past grudge turns on Blitzo to humilate him:
"Some nerve you got commenting on a relationship"
Time Stamp: 11:37
As Fizz says "-ship", Blitzo VERY QUICKLY makes eye contact with Stolas who has a look of panic on his face. Blitzo is seeking VALIDATION from Stolas in this sharp, subtle second of screentime, as if to ask
"Well, ARE we in one?"

And then what happens next...Stolas remains silent, Blitzo's ex joins in to announce how selfish Blitzo was in bed with her, tearing him down further. Stolas stands up like he's going to put a stop to it but then Ozzie notices him and interrogates him about sleeping with Blitzo.
Blitzo looks incredibly ashamed and guilty as Stolas blushes with similar feelings...and hides his face behind his menu; HIS BIGGEST MISTAKE IN THE SERIES SO FAR.

Time Stamp: 12:24
The look on Blitzo's face as he grits his teeth and darts his eyes away basically says
"Yeah, I should have known...boy am I an idiot for trusting him to stand up for me".

(look how SHOCKED he is...wow, this hurts fr ;_;)

This is a silent betrayal on Stolas's part. Afterall, his reputation is on the line, so if he were to defend Blitzo, it confirms they are in fact, dating. He chose his pride over Blitzo and Blitzo is crushed by this betrayal.
Moxxie finishes his song and kisses his wife tenderly. Stolas watches this and also wants to have an affectionate moment with Blitzo (who is rightfully glaring daggers at him) and tries to reach for his hand.

Blitzo rejects his touch and suggests they leave. As they do, Blitzo still looks furious and hurt. Stolas is now realizing how badly he screwed up with a "What have I done?" face (13:41)

He even looks disappointed with himself.
After Blitzo drops Stolas off, he thanks him and tries to smooth over the awkwardness with sweet talk but Blitzo just rolls his eyes in disgust and pulls on his face like "I don't want to hear this bullshit".

He responds coldly and curtly, "Yeah." Stolas makes more suggestions to spend time with him, which just makes him even angrier and he snaps
"I'm not fucking you tonight, okay!

I'm really just..." (14:28)
he pauses to wipe a tear because at this point he can barely hold it together (top notch voice acting and animation directing btw)

"...not in the mood, Stolas."
Stolas still tries to talk him into doing couple things unrelated to sex.

Blitzo's face switches back to anger and frustration because Stolas isn't getting the message so he goes for the blunt tactic;

"Stolas, don't act like what we have is anything but YOU wanting ME to fuck you, okay?"
(14:42)
"You make that really clear all the time."

(again his voice sounds like he's about to break down)
"But I-I just can't do it tonight, okay?"

(Finally meets his eye)

"...I'm sorry."
I believe this is code for "I'm sorry we're even in this situation and how your reputation got damaged. " Or, more painfully, "I'm sorry I'm such an embarrassment to you".
Stolas replies "Okay" and takes a deep breath to compose himself. They say goodnight and depart.

An important note here is that Stolas calls him "Blitzo" instead of "Blitzy" to show more respect.
As Blitzo zooms away coldly, Stolas looks up at the sky with tears in his eyes, surprised at how much it hurts.
He then sits down with his head in his hands in anguish...because he's getting that
"Oh...no. These feelings are real" epiphany.
And as if this wasn't enough angst, Blitzo collapses onto his couch at home, goes through the memories on his phone and starts sobbing.

I'm going to be real with you; this is the most heart-breaking shit I have ever seen in an adult show of this type. It's also the first time a show of this type got me to cry.
The last six minutes have revealed so much information without spoonfeeding it to the audience because the show RESPECTS its audience.
To recap:
*Blitzo takes Stolas on a first official date to use him
*Stolas is extremely happy about it
*Blitzo gets humilated and looks to Stolas for validation
*Stolas betrays him and breaks his heart
*Blitzo snaps that their relationship is nothing more than lust-driven sex
*Stolas realizes he's actually in love with Blitzo and it's a huge problem because (he believes) that it's unrequited.
*Blitzo breaks down because the ONE person whom he thought would protect him didn't do so.
So these two are convinced that neither one loves the other...while the irony is, it's quite the opposite.
Because if Blitzo REALLY didn't feel anything towards Stolas, he would not have gotten this emotional.
Yes, they are both lonely...but I really don't think that's all there is between them.
So..........we know WHEN they started falling...now the question is why;
I think the answer's quite simple; single-target affection.
It was mentioned in S2 that Stolas and Stella did sleep together ONE TIME...but Stolas didn't enjoy it at all. He is stuck with a wife who hates him so much that she put a HIT on him...and a daughter who thinks he's a loser. Blitzo is pretty much the one person in his life who is able to make him happy. That one small, bright spot. He enjoys the sex with him but he also simply enjoys his company, as shown in Ozzie's episode. He is thrilled to simply talk to him about his day...and do anything else that couples do. They're complete opposites. Stolas is an intellectual but naive and sheltered. Blitzo is poorly educated but cynical and street-smart. Opposites attract...though this is likely more from Stolas's POV than Blitzo's.
In other words, Stolas is into bad boys xD lmao
In Blitzo's case, Stolas is the only character who shows him physical affection which he desperately craves. He's pretty tsundere about it most of the time...but I think he actually does enjoy that attention...especially when he's always getting disrespected by Moxxie and Loona..and quite a lot of people around him. BUT he's too scared to get serious with anyone because of past trauma and he also believes that no one could possibly love him as a person. :(
Reasons I Think This Love is Real
Aside from what I pointed out in the Ozzie's episode...there's quite a lot of evidence, esp from Stolas's POV.
After he realizes he's in love, he goes to Asomodeous for an ALTERNATIVE method for Blitzo to use so they will no longer sleep together. He wants to set Blitzo free. Which means he DOES truly love him because love is about being generous to the other person. He COULD be totally selfish about it but he isn't.
Asomodeous mentions how against love potions he is and Stolas agrees. He thinks that's out of the question.
'Look My Way' music video. Lol I don't have to say anything more.
In S2 E6 OOPS
This exchange at 16:57
Fizz: Seems your taste has gotten more 'regal', lately?
Blitz: Yeah, well unlike you, I fuck who I want WHEN I want. I'm not gonna be tied down to some big blue-blood asshole.
Fizz: You coulda fooled me the way Prince was cozying up to you at Ozzie's.
Blitz (gets very defensive) HEY! Stolas only cares about have a rugged peasant raw-dog him into his mattress, okay!
It's nothing...(gets hesistant and looks away)...you know...
(Fizz gives him a 'bitch please' look xD)
"it's nothing else."
Fizz: Then why were you even there?
Blitz: OTHER very important reasons of course.
Fizz: Whatever. I don't actually care.
Blitz: Stolas is just a loud, thirsty BITCH!
(Fizz is rolling his eyes again)
Blitz: He loves feeling the thrill of getting dicked by the lower class.
It's a novelty to him.
Fizz: LITERALLY just said I don't care!
Blitz: And then he'll call me and try to see how my day was!
And he'll pretend to care about me and comment on my photos laugh at my jokes...
Fizz: (Smirking) OH! That's definitely your clue right there that it's all bullshit!
Blitz: I KNOW, RIGHT??
Fizz: (Making a 'What in idiot' expression, shaking his head)
Blitz: HE'S JUST A FAKE, PRIVELEDGED ASSHOLE...
Fizz: Sounds like you just hate him for being a prince!
No one (laughs) and I mean NO ONE pretends to care that much just for a cheap lay.
All right. IF ANYONE knows what real love is like, it's Fizzaroli...who is in a very HEALTHY relationship with Asomodeous. He recognizes the signs because he's IN that place. He sees it...and he's annoyed that Blitzo keeps denying it and brushing it off...yet clearly can NOT stop talking about Stolas (amusing irony)
To sum up (this freaking essay lol) 'Stolitz' ABSOLUTELY has the potential to be pure and true...these two just need to communicate...or Stolas has to PROVE to Blitzo that he's serious about his feelings in another way.
There is no doubt that this ship is 100% endgame and is a case of the 'Earn Your Happy Ending' Trope. I look forward to the rest of the journey. Ron is putting my feelings about Stolitz in a perfect phrase:
#shipping#helluva boss#blitzø#stolas#stolitz#blitzo x stolas#stolas x blitz#vivziepop#animation#man they really have a firm grip on my heart#it's so strange to me lol#OH THE ANGST
