So I've been a dregs member for a long time (I'm in my 30s now) and back when I was a new grunt I was especially trolleyed at the Crow Club, and I ended up spilling like half my pint on the head of one of Haskell's feral little runners, yk one of the little kids?? I just kind of mopped him with my sleeve and said sorry and figured that it was the end of it... however it has occurred to me lately that it actually might have been Kaz. Deep Cut serves as the second, third and fourth boss fights in Splatoon 3's story mode. After each of their boss fights they make their exit by throwing a smoke bomb at the ground and blast off Team Rocket style except two of them manage to fumble their exit in some way

Behind-The Scenes On Adiel's Room: Part 1

Hey everyone! I wanted to share all of the little details you can find in Adiel's room, because I think it would be fun to discuss. For today, let's discuss everything that's on Adiel's table & shelf! This is going to be a longer post, so here we go!

Let's start with the flowers in the vase!

I knew I wanted to have a vase of flowers in Adiel's room, but when it came to drawing it, there was a problem: I didn't know what kind of flowers were in the backrooms! So I googled it, and came across an interesting one in the backrooms fandom wiki (this is the only object from there btw--the rest are from the official wikidot site) called "Devil's Ambrosia".

There are quite a few interesting things about this backrooms object. First of all, it smells different for everyone who takes in the scent. And second & most importantly, it could actually be a hiveminded entity, as it is responsible for the creation of a different entity on the fandom wiki called "Slashers". I think Adiel is immune to these effects and unaware of the dangers--he probably just thought they were pretty.

Next item! Let's start at the bottom of the shelf and go up from there.

This is a backrooms item known as the BackROM, a game system with multiple strange video games you can play. The specific cartridge is for the game "CLOWNS", which basically causes the player to go unconscious and have a realistic dream about robbing a bank with people wearing clown masks. Sounds like a fun time! And like in the picture of the BackROM on the wiki, the game system is paired with an older television set.

This is a backrooms item that I'm sure everyone is familiar with: almond water! I actually want to go behind-the-scenes with how I designed the canister for it in another post, so stay tuned for that!

If you're not aware, almond water is basically your backbone of survival in the backrooms, as it will help keep you alert, alive, and sane. We're all for almond water in this household!

This item looks pretty self-explanatory--they're just 3D glasses, right? Well, like most backrooms objects, there's an extra layer here to these optical lenses.

They're a backrooms item called 3D Vision Glasses, and basically, when you put them on, your vision goes from being first-person to third-person, seeing the world from external perspective somewhere behind you, like in a video game. I wonder what kind of situations Adiel has used these glasses in?

This backrooms item has the obvious name of "Candy". This orange bag is distributed by the "Backrooms Nonaligned Trade Group" or B.N.T.G., which is basically an offshoot of ex-M.E.G. operatives. The candy bag is a pound, and contains individually-wrapped sweet treats that bestow different abilities or unique properties on whoever eats it. For example, the candy "Braniacs" makes you feel a lot smarter, and the candy "Guys" turns your hand into a working gun. Lots of interesting stuff. I wonder what kind of candy is in Adiel's candy bag.

This camera isn't based on any specific backrooms item. The design is based on an old Polaroid 600, and based on the pictures on the wall (which will be discussed in Part 2 to this post), Adiel's taken quite a few shots with this thing.

Finally, we have the last item, which is called a Spirit Link. Basically, these hats on a Saberzoa (an entity in The Blue Channel) make you see (through the gem on the hat) what emotion the Saberzoa is experiencing, and lets the Saberzoa communicate telepathically. Place the Spirit Link on any other creature, and the effect will be unpredictable. When do you think Adiel visited The Blue Channel?

Hey Other Anon, let's play out a hypothetical: let's imagine there's a person who's making a video promoting a brand of cigarettes in exchange for money, but in the video, they say "by the way I don't condone smoking."

Or if somebody's robbing a bank but then they say "now before this goes any farther, I gotta admit I don't believe in robbing banks."

Or even if somebody is doing something completely innocent like, idk, attending a party. But while they're at the party, they tell you "Of course, I don't approve of parties."

When somebody says something that contradicts what they are doing, that's called "hypocricy." You mighta heard of it.

You acknowledge that Arryn Zech was intentionally promoting a dangerous "weight loss" tea that preys upon suffering young women and contributes to a viciously unhealthy culture, and that she knew that it was wrong at the time (both because she was actually recovering from being preyed upon by that exact culture at the time AND because she specifically claimed to not believe in what she was promoting in order to cover her own ass from having to face the music) but she did it ANYWAY in exchange for money. That's what you're admitting to.

But since she said the words "oh btw I don't approve of this dangerous thing that I am deliberately selling to you," you refuse to admit that she shouldn't have done it.

I see that Anon 100% subscribes to the RWBY narrative of "whatever the *Protagonist* says is automatically the truth, and if it contradicts what you see on the screen, it must be your eyes that are lying."

One might argue that it's actually kind of weird, how much these stans treat Arryn Zech like some kind of fictional heroine who can do no wrong and whose only flaw is that she cares too much and is just too good for this cruel world. One might even call it, dare I say it, "parasocial," but here we are I guess.

absolutely all of this. arryn doesn't get to hide behind her mental illness or her "telling people that she doesn't support tummy teas" when she is doing exactly that, photoshopping her pictures & getting fillers while not telling her fans. these are all things a ton of influencers are getting called out for, not just arryn. lindsey in the 100 fandom also got called out for selling weight loss gummies so this isn't a targeted attack against her; the very first instances of this came from rwby fans who had eating disorders & were disappointed in her. now it is being used to show a very glaring hypocrisy in her behaviour & the fact that she lies as blatantly as she breathes puts everything she says into question; & this doesn't even address her other lies. the fact that she defaulted to blaming fans of her ex when the call was coming from her own fans shows a lot about her character.

nothing is her fault, & the types of fans that obsessively flood the inboxes, replies & dms of those calling her out like this weirdo has been consistently for a week +, do nothing but enable that harmful mentality she has. she hasn't worked on any of her bad behaviour; she just gives a myriad of excuses.

hi i have no idea if you take asks like this buT you’re big in sci fi prompts (love em btw!) and i need a tad bit of help with a story :0 can you think of any crimes fitting a sci fi setting that would be interesting for a Mostly Good main character to have committed? as in. the kind of crime an audience sympathizes with, like sad murder or crimes of existing, yknow. does that make sense lol

I absolutely do take asks like this! I'm flattered you sent this, actually. I didn't realize I'm big in scifi prompts though. I don't really think about that stuff, I just kinda write what comes to mind and let it free for others to have fun with...

Anyway! Sympathetic crimes in a sci-fi setting

Generally speaking, if the hero kills a bad guy, the audience will understand. For example, an abusive person - a selfish scam artist preying on the weak for their own gain and going very far with it - anyone who's hurt a child in any way on purpose - that kind of thing.

Robin Hood style crimes - robbing the rich via hacking, for example, or stealing from banks, to help others. Crimes done for a good reason towards villainous targets are always appreciated and people can get a feeling that justice will be done in life, one way or another, which is very nice

Protecting children: kidnapping a child from an abusive home and taking them somewhere safe, for example. Though you have to make sure you really make it clear that there's no other way to help the kid either at all or in the moment

Leaking hidden information about or being a whistleblower exposing corruption, illegal activities, crimes, etc. Depending on your setting, it may be illegal or at least extremely dangerous to your career to call out corruption in governments or big businesses. By doing it anyway, you show heroism and a solid moral compass in contrast to whatever you're exposing to the public

Tbh any crime can be seen as heroic so long as it's being aimed at an appropriate target. This can be used for good or evil - once upon a time, people would applaud hate crimes happening to various minorities. But in this case, if your main character is going after banks (most people in the present, at least in America, don't like banks), massive corporations, corrupt governments, and worse criminals than them, people will think their hearts are in the right place. But you gotta make sure the punishment fits the crime, or your hero is now gonna be the villain. A random scam artist on the street, or a pickpocket, maybe deserves a black eye. They may even need help themselves. But the wealthy politician who stole money that should've gone to helping people, and does bad things to women on the side? Write that bastard right and people will cheer if the hero kills him.

Also? Crimes to try and stay alive are sympathetic. Have to steal food from a grocery store because you're too young to get a job, or you've got a family to feed? The audience sympathizes. Break into an abandoned building because it's raining and you're homeless and can't get to a shelter if they're even safe? The audience understands. Accidentally kill a guy while trying to escape mortal danger you didn't cause? The audience might've done the same thing.

Mmm, I don't know if any of this helps or answers your question but I did the best I could. I hope that even if this doesn't do what you wanted it to, you find some inspiration here. Hey, followers? I know that Leverage (tv show) has the Robin Hood angle, and Aladdin is the poster boy for the 'street rat' who steals to survive, but what examples can you think of? yeah the 'getting relegated to a sideshow informant with a quirk' thing is exactly why I think that making him too much of a usual ally rather than just an occasional one might take the bite out of the character too much - it's kind of the same with Harley, where imo if she's too much of an ally and good guy she just doesn't feel quite...'Harley' anymore? these characters are famous because they're villains so taking away from that too much and making them too 'good' takes away some of what makes them so fun and interesting. - that's not to say they shouldn't get reform arcs ofc, i'd actually love to see Riddler have a reform arc where he opens a PI office again -this time preferably as the result of actual character development though and not just the result of a head injury that turned off his 'evil guy' button. (this kind of arc would need him to be the protagonist of his own solo issue or series though probably idk)

that part where you said "when you said he'd steal priceless artifacts, I was thinking, "Unless the artifacts or the robbery itself pose a danger to civilians, Bats might put it on the back-burner and piss him off..."" - I was actually kind of banking on that, that Batman eventually would put pursuing him on the back-burner and that way provoke him into doing something more grand or drastic. A sort of "oh so you didn't pay attention when I did this harmless heist? Ok fine, I'm gonna take hostages now, let's see if you pay attention then >:(" type of situation? which then would force Bruce to acknowledge even the more harmless of his crimes due to the possibility that ignoring them might tick him off enough that he'd start endangering lives to get the attention he wants. basically he'd be a threat because he might lash out more or go off the rails if he's not placated enough so batman would have to keep track of him just to make sure he's still in the 'relatively harmless crimes' phase and not about to snap and actively endanger the city. and...maybe I was also thinking of that Valentine's issue where Bruce decided to abandon his date and go full Batman mode all because Edward robbed a florist and left him some clues in a flower bouquet. sometimes even the little things are enough to get Brucie to go full dark knight it seems.
