here's what i think i think michael was pretty free and easy about masculinity and such. but the thing where he got embarrassed easily threw a wrench into things. which would be a reason to separate himself from his brothers, even in the earlier days, but especially as he got older. because damn, whenever it's all of them, it's like 'Jackie and Tito were great baseball players - michael not so much LOL' and i feel like that's the kind of thing you can laugh off so many times before you just get tired of it

i don't get the feeling michael was all that bothered about that kind of stuff personally though... he seemed pretty content to lean into his sensitivity in a lot of ways, and he didn't hide it. that's impressive to me. he was extremely tough
