the fact that in the first moving poster, we have Penelope angry and upset at Colin, closed off, pulling into herself, and he is yearning for her and confused, just wanting to reach out and touch her and knowing he can't do so because of the walls between them, so he grabs his own wrist, and he holds back, and they're both more on edge for it
and in the second, we have him breaking that barrier to gently trace along the edge of her neckline, softly whispering over her skin, and she reaches up to hold him in place, as though to say 'stay, don't pull away', melting into him as he leans into her, and he even lifts his fingers to wrap around hers as she holds on because the distance they had wasn't serving either of them positively. almost as if, only when they're together, anchored into one another, can they fully open up
one might even say they
unfurl
like a flower in bloom

(first off, i'm so sorry about the quality, i've been fighting tumblr for 2 hours trying to fix it and it doesn't want to work with me :') please click on the pics for better resolution!)
so ever since reading this ask from @blank-house i've had this little scenario in my head because of jamie's bit, and i've finally gotten the chance to sketch it out :>

Earth is a terrestrial planet, despite 70% of it's surface being covered in water. It has a molten iron core, and has existed for about 4.5 billion years. It's the third planet out from it's star (a yellow dwarf).
The Cartologist: Oooh, interesting, is there more?
The Cartologist: Oh, is that what the song about cheese comes from?
The Coordinator: Yes, mortal planets that have had life for a long time do tend to experience multiple extinction events, which is one of the reasons it is important we tend to our duties.

okay i'm done 💥💥💥💥
when i first heard the name of @boneinator 's new bot, Rosetta, i thought of those big, rose-like colorful glass windows (their name in polish is 'rozeta', so it's pretty similar). that's why i couldn't get the idea of a stained glass" piece out of my head. so here it is :]

btw i'm still thinking about what happens next, i sent it to one of my friends because i thought she'd find it compelling and that prompted me to start a re-read, i got to "no matter what" before i had to go to bed and just
the writing is absolutely masterful, to the point where i forgot i was reading a fictional story, it completely feels like something that actually happened and you are unearthing it layer by layer. and just the way it creates tension, that uneasy dread that just slooooowlly ramps up and up and up the further you go, to the point where you're hurtling towards inevitable trainwreck after inevitable trainwreck with no way to get off the ride? incredible work.
all these little hints and set ups pay off and wallop you directly in the face, and then all the moments of humor and the cutesy-indie art style just add in more dread and existential bleakness on top of all the actually really dark horror of the plot in the best way
as i put it to my friend, i've always had a thing for stories that take full advantage of the unique characteristics of the media they're being told through, stories that cannot be told any other way but the way they are, and this comic really understands that. no other media quite captures the toxic voyeurism of Being Incredibly Online and passively observing The Worst People go through horrible shit, digging through the artifacts of a life, a blog, to Consume as Entertainment
no one is free of sin here, not even us reading the comic, and it's so good, 10/10, absolutely cannot wait for the next chapter

I had the absolute displeasure of walking into a bookshop where they had both the translations from that one anglosaxon person of odyssey and iliad and I had the horrid idea of checking out page one of both and not counting that the complicated man from the odyssey is still absolutely indecent to even see on paper... I glanced at the iliad's opening and while I'd need to check more in depth to see if she made another glaring mistake at line two or if it's me remembering wrong how you take the og word.....
i am wholly not surprised that in the og text agamemnon is referred to as atreius' son and in every translation I read of that text ever he was referred to as such and ofc she just went and said agamemnon because ig everyone who picks that book up is too ignorant to know the backstory huh /s

Red Tape tied in a bow (P1 | P2 | P3) (Patreon)
Also decided to give a go to the caption thing again since this one’s rather dialogue-heavy!
[Panel 2]
Peepers: Uhm...sir?
Hater: What.
Peepers: Could you- do you have the full paperwork on our health plan?
[Panel 3]
Hater: Health plan? Peepers what in grop’s name are you talking about??
[Panel 4]
Peepers: It’s really no big thing, I just wanted to see what was (and wasn’t) covered-
[Panel 5]
Hater: Commander Peepers. Are you planning to commit insurance fraud on my dime? And you’re asking me how?
[Panel 7]
Peepers: P- hahahaha! I would never dream of it, Lord Hater!
[Panel 8]
Hater: Then-?
Peepers: I just want to see what’s covered, sir. Like I said already...
[Panel 9]
Hater: Hrmph. It’s all personally approved by me, so feel free to ask, Commander.

Ah... so at the beginning of winter break since I was sick and tired having having to draw stuff I didn't really want to at school, I drew and crocheted a bunch and ended up burning myself out. I was probably already burned out going into it so that didn't really help either. I recently got a bit of motivation back so here's some doodles! >:]
The first one was one I did randomly the second one was more intentionally doodle practice if you will.
Also it turns out doing quick imperfect doodles and experimentation can be really refreshing! At school we've really been hammering in realism which is fine, but doing it over and over again for months making sure everything is perfect contently with little room for creativity is exhausting. I'm actually kind of excited for the typography unit for whenever we get to it bc it's something other than realism! So yeah ig the moral of the story is doodle every once in a awhile tee hee.
