I get the point of people going 'banners aren't canon/have nothing to do with the lore' but... I feel like people are using lore incorrectly. Whatever your feelings about cat boys or catch22 boys, you can't just point blank go banners have no bearing on character that's a crazy statement 😭

There is some wild hypocrisy just specifically for this banner with people who were cool af with cat boys (which was crazy like sorry how did tiny cats be so op that they could TURN OFF someone's evol and suppress it and make them grow cat features and personality traits) now going this is too AU. (Kinda the point of an AU you know? The question is what would you have to do to make a character act like this.)

But I've also seen like? Sylus' Within Reach card named as having nothing to do with the story too ('you're just measuring his ass'). Like. Are you only watching kindleds and not playing dates? His entire card is about MC worrying about his health, realising they care more than they want to, and more suggestions that Sylus 1. Truly understands them that he can read those feelings on their face or 2. Is able to see into their dreams.

That's? Character building 😭 which by definition is part of their lore.

Even cat boys showed that? Zayne being more affectionate because he didn't have to worry about his EVOL going out of control. Raffy being more honest about his desperation for MC because it was harder to hide? Xavier showing more of his anxieties over not having MC in his life. Sylus showing he does everything he does FOR MC and no one else.

You're free not to like the new banner I'm not debating that, if it's not up ur alley that's super chill and very fair, unless ur out there being weird on main to people who are excited for it, but like. Saying it will have NOTHING to offer about the characters is a batshit statement that's fully untrue.

There's a very real thing to be said that no person is fully perfect and everyone is capable of being broken down. One of Zayne's main character beats is how EVER/Xander Sciences wants him for their experiments, and the question the game presents is 'what would we have to do to make this man abandon his morals'. You're about to potentially see that EXACT scenario in catch 22.

I'm not saying 'go pull' either. I'm saying, when it comes out if you're curious watch the date on YouTube, and see what character information the story offers you because seeing all the messy complex sides of a character is absolutely fascinating.

Whether they're even going to be that dark is up for debate, but I'm fully willing to bet that they'll have something to share about the characters themselves, that adds to the little complex web of their lore and build.

Of course post-canon odysseus and penelope love each other (they are a little bit insane about the other. Neither is allowed to leave the others side for months after odysseus gets back. They cycle between sobbing on one and another and aggressively making out. ) but it's true that they have both changed. It's been twenty hard years after all. So

Odypen courting each other again just for the fun of it. Odypen deciding to act like teenagers again and make elaborate plans pretending to sneak into the others room.

Odysseus sending penelopes 90 year old dad a letter challenging him to a race for penelopes hand in marriage. (This does not go over well but penelope though it was hilarious)

Odysseus begging Athena to help him win penelopes heart/hand again. (Athena: What no why you're already married I don't understand you ) (she helps anyways)

Penelope weaving all of odysseus's clothes. Penelope hauling out every tapestry she made of telemachus's childhood (she made one for every year. To gift odysseus on his birthday when he returned.)

Odypen leaving telemachus incharge while they go off on dates (to harssass, cause problems, and badger other people into giving them things). It should be fine Athena has been sticking close to the house lately. And it's only for an afternoon anyways (at first. Headcanon that penelope came with odysseus when he had to go plant the oar and call it a windmill quest.)

nixon and dick's committment to each other is insane like, nixon doesn't, not ever, want to separate from dick. he doesn't see a life during or after the war without him so, he offers him a job at his family's company, and even signs up to jump with him in the pacific. then even though dick is always trying to set nixon straight, telling him to cut off his drinking and to not fuck up with regiment, he gifts him, just him, a cellar's worth of alcohol, ordering two of his soldiers to stand guard because he indulges, for once, in his drinking and wants nixon to be the first one there and get all the best drinks for himself before anyone else in the whole regiment can. they're insane. insane. insane

I'm binge-watching shows with Kathryn Hahn and I've never been happier

Like in so many of them her character is so real, vulnerable, flawed — and perfect in her own acceptance of it, and opened and true

And it's such an example for me, inspiration and a lot of great lessons

Also obviously she's wonderful in them

Townie Makeover #2: Welcome to Strangerville.

Starring Ted & Meredith Roswell, Alice Martin and Erwin Pries. While the Strangerville Lots looked horrid, I always kinda liked the townies in it. As mentioned, I initially wanted to do the Eclectic Arts household plus Erwin, but as I was re-making Erwin and Alice, my brain hit them with the Eleven-Lore-ification beam. So, I changed my plans, and instead included the Roswells, as they play an integral role in Erwin's life. In short; Erwin is a lot more involved with The Lab than he believes – the Roswells took him in as a child, and raised him, despite his oddities. Over the years, he's grown suspicious of Ted's 'confidential' business dealings, and moved out in order to create some distance – he still immensely cares about Meredith, however, who's always treated him as her own. Now, he's conducting his own secret sleuthing and in that time, he meets newly moved-in Alice Martin, who befriends him. I am so adding them to the TOSverse character roster.
