I think Shoto would originally fuck with Izuku by insisting on calling him big brother every chance he gets (regardless of age order) but when Izuku inevitably gets too flustered and puts his foot down, Shoto turns around and starts insisting to anyone who asks that they're twins. Identical twins actually. What do you mean you don't see the resemblance. They're identical. No, he knows what fraternal means, but they're definitely identical twins. And Izuku (Short, green, round, tan and freckled) stands next to Shoto (Tall, pale, sharp features) and decides he will also die for this bit. They're identical, your honor.
(PolyFam au)
it’s definitely a bit between all three of the boys “we look so alike how could you not tell” “izuku just dyes his hair other than that you can barely tell him and shouto apart”
also class A meets touya one time and are like “oh he does kinda look like bakugou and todoroki I get it” and they go “what are you talking about touya’s adopted ??”

If you wanna know something interesting about twins, there's actually a rare third type of twin that's neither completely identical nor fully fraternal, which you likely know means they share approximately 50% of their DNA like most siblings do. The third type are called sesquizygotic twins, and they typically share much closer to 100% of their DNA than they do 50%, causing them to look far more similar to each other than fraternal twins usually do, but they can be a amab and afab pair.
Also, fun fact, but if we assume they are canonically identical, Ingo and Emmet would likely be what are called mirror twins. They're identical twins that split a bit later than normal, so their characteristics are on opposite sides, i.e. one is left handed the other right, one has a mole on the right side the other has a mole in the same place just on their left side, one has hair that parts to the left the other's hair parts to the right, etc.
I'm not sure if you actually care about any of that, but I thought it was interesting and wanted to share lol. It's also a good way for a transmasc twin to look nearly identical to their cis counterpart, if that's something a person wants to do.
Ohh that’s actually really interesting! I didn’t know that! Thank you for telling me!
It would work better for my au if they were sesquizygotic for sure! Pokémon genetics I thought were hilarious enough that they would still look similar regardless but I actually prefer having a solid reason for it so thank you for this!! <3 rotating this new information in my mind

Oh no, I'm sorry for implying it's the same. Midwifery is sort of in the same category than nurses here, so I sort of just went with what I hear about most. Here you're a nurse, but you can specialise in Midwifery. Many of these professionals start private practices as a specialist and don't work at a hospital like nurses and doctors do.
When my sister had her first baby, she had a water birth and had both a doula and midwife at her side. She said it was the best experience she could have hoped for! My parents felt very uneasy about this, because using a midwife/doula only became popular In recent years and it's the norm to use a gynie when you get pregnant. My sister didn't want that though, said it felt impersonal and that gynies don't go into the journey the way a midwife and a doula does. She wanted to have someone she could trust during her pregnancy and birth, support you don't get from a gynie. My sister's second pregnancy was twins and a riskier birth, because c-section is safer with fraternal twins. She was then forced to go with the gynie option and forgo the midwife/doula option, due to all the costs related to each professional's service. Which she really regretted, because having a midwife by her side the first time around made things so much easier and comfortable.
Anyway I'm sorry for the little rant that you probably didn't want to be privy to, lol. I just wanted to highlight that I absolutely do respect midwifes and what they do. We just see them in a different category (nurse + midwife) and it's not everyone that can afford to go this route since it's private and not part of what you get in a hospital plan. Many people also opt to go for a gynie, and get a doula for support which is why my mind webt there.
Actually, I'm not really qualified to talk about this subject because I don't really know much and my sister is literally the only person I know who used the midwife route. Regardless, I have a lot of respect for what you guys do and I didn't mean to compare you to a doula, who is more of a mentor than a medical professional.
No please don't apologise, I deleted the original response cause I realised my reply was really bitchy and that's not what I intended, so I'm sorry for that 🥴
I'm glad your sister felt safe with her midwife and doula! In New Zealand, you're only under the gynae/obstetric team if there's serious complications, but even then you'll have a midwife working in your care. Midwives are also a public health resource here, so there is no cost associated, thank goodness!
A lot of midwives (myself included it seems) have a bee in their bonnet about doulas here, mostly just because we don't really have them? And then the doula's I've met have tried to take leadership and take over the care which is not what they're there for, as you say they're there for support. So that's probably where a bit of that beef comes from. Which is by no means to say all doulas are like that. I feel like I'm talking myself into a hole a bit with that so I'll leave that where it is dkjfsdkjfsd.
But yeah, thank you. Sorry for being a dick initially 😅 I find differences in healthcare between countries so fascinating, and also a little alarming cause it means I'm gonna struggle so hard if I ever move overseas 💀 thank you for sharing yours and your sister's story!!!

Monstrous talents
Oozma Kappa x Scarer!Reader x Roar Omega Roar
Tumblr media
(Drabble? Headcanons? I'm not quite sure.)
(I'll probably work this into a longer fic eventually, but it's late enough at night that I'll start with this.)
- If you find yourself as a new student at Monsters University, one of two things pretty much has to be the case for you to catch the attention of both the fraternities. Either you're a promising new student in the scare program, or you're just ridiculously popular for some reason. Maybe you come from an impressive lineage of scarers, maybe your popular online, or maybe your just super friendly, but regardless, you've made a name for yourself in the first few weeks at college, and these greek houses are taking notice.
- As far as meeting the fraternities, it's unlikely you meet all the members of each at once.. During your first introduction with a member of Oozma Kappa, you're sitting in scare 101, waiting for Prof. Knight to return, when something hits the back of your head. When you look down at your desk, you see what looks like a toy wand, the kind you'd see at a childrens magic show. Picking up the stick, you look around for the culprit, your eyes quickly landing on two yellow monsters a few rows behind you. Upon looking closer, you'll realize they're actually one monster with two heads.
-Curious, you climb back a few rows and give the pair back their wand, thus meeting the dynamic duo of Oozma Kappa, Terri and Terry. Despite being one body, they definitely have two minds. While Terry remains cool, and apologizes, Terri immediately panics. There's quick, short apologies, stuttering, and a pack of cards even fall out of his side of the sweater. You learn that the wand projectile was the result of a magic-trick-gone-wrong. You assure the pair that it's alright, and introduce yourself. Terri responds well to your positivity, and quickly changes his mood from panicked to excited at the prospect of a new friend.
-When Prof. Knight returns and calls for the class to settle down and begin, you wave goodbye and return to your seat. Your trying to hyper-focus on the lesson, taking notes at a rapid pace. You've always known that being scary is only half of being an effective scarer. Unfortunately, your focus is broken when your pencil snaps. You reach into your bag and try to grab your sharpener, only for your pencil to roll off your desk and away from you. As you go to retrieve it, the pencil suddenly floats up into the air. You stare wide eyed, until a purple appendage appears coiled around it. You lean back in sudden shock, and see the monster attached to the tail, seemingly some sort of purple lizard. The monster looks at you with an impatient squint. You simply stare, still shocked at how he suddenly appeared, prompting him to shake the pencil in front of your face and huff out a 'Take it'. You take the pencil back quickly, muttering a quick thanks. Throughout the class, you glance a few times in at the strange monster, occasionally catching him looking back at you.
-After class, Terri catches up with you, calling your name as you head out of the lecture hall, dragging a rather embarrassed Terry with him. As they approach, you can hear them arguing about something. "This is an awful idea-" "No it's not, we're making friends-" "I'm fine with you embarrassing yourself, but don't embarrass me by association!". The two come to a stop in front of you, and Terri invites you to meet up with their fraternity at the quad later. You agree, and ask them what frat they're part of. Terry only rolls his eyes, and Terri shrugs. "Oozma Kappa, were not exactly well-known." Terri admits. Regardless, you agree to meet up with them later.
-What you don't see is a purple monster watching you with curiosity from the door of the lecture hall.
-Later, you head out of your dorm and towards the quad, recognizing the bright green and yellow sweater you had seen the twins wearing from a mile away. "Y/N!" Terri yells, prompting his brother to cover his ears. Sitting down next to the pair, Terry shoots you an apologetic look as his brother introduces you to the other monsters sat with you.
-The first to speak is Art, extending a furry purple hand to you, which you shake. "Hola, my friend. I am Art, scare major. It's totally chill to meet you..." He speaks slowly and with a dazed look, but seems very nice. A tentacle extends next, attached to you a middle-aged pink monster. "Howdy, Don Carlton! Ex-salesman, current scare major!" He smiles, his eyes crinkling as he does so. "This is my step-son and fraternity brother, Scotty Squibbles." "Hi..." A soft voice says. You jump at the sudden sound, completely overlooking the small monster who seems to have suddenly appeared beside you. "Sorry, I'm still working on announcing myself."
-You find the conversation flows pretty easily as you hang out with Oozma Kappa. Despite their quirks, you have to admit it's nice to have friends at school. As Don begins to recall his first scare to a fascinated Terri, and Art zones out a few feet away to meditate, you turn to Scott, who you learn the group calls 'Squishy'. "Hey, Uh, Squishy?" He turns to look at you, a bit surprised you're addressing him. He looks around first, as if making sure you're not addressing some other Squishy. "Uh, Y-yeah?" He finally responds. "So, your Step-dad is also your fraternity brother..." He winces. "Can I ask how that happened?" You finish. He shake shis head and mumbles. "It's... We don't really like to talk about it." "Sure we do!" Don pops out of nowhere, and Squishy covers his ears and blocks out his stepfather as the tale begins.
-After a while, you hear what sounds like a loud debate coming towards the group, and turn to look in the direction of the noise. "No, and you know that's not right. I said no pickles on my burger, that's no way to run a business Sulley!" A green one-eyed monster yells, waving around a bag of fast food. "Calm down, Mike. A few pickles isn't a big deal." A much larger blue monster chuckles. "Don't talk to me about food, big guy. I've seen you eat half a sandwich off the kitchen tile." The green one grumbles and flops down beside Art as the blue monster follows. "Sorry it took so long to get food guys, they got the order wrong three times AND STILL GAVE ME PICKL-" He breaks into a rant while the blue monster shakes his head with an amused look.
-Just then it seems the bigger monster notices you. "Hey, who's this?" He asks. "Hi, I'm Y/N. Me and Terri-" You look over. "And Terry have Scare 101 together." He nods. "Are you a new transfer?" You nod. "Well, welcome to MU. James, James P. Sullivan." He shakes your hand. "Like Bill Sullivan?" You ask, bringing your knees up under your chin as you tilt your head curiously. "Oh, yeah..." His mood seems to dip at the mention of his family, so you decide not to push the subject.
-"Mike Wizowski, O.K. house president." The green monster proudly steps forward, motioning to his Oozma Kappa hat. "A fellow scare major huh? Well, get ready to be amazed, cause' Oozma Kappa's on track to being the top fraternity in this college." He certainly seems passionate. Sulley tries to reel in his energized friend, and the group digs into the fast food brought by there presidents. Art hands you his fries, sharing his wisdom with you. "Sharing is caring, Muchacho. Take these fries and pass this kindness forward."
- The evening carries on peacefully, and the group seems to welcome you immediately. It starts getting late, and slowly but surely the group separates, going their separate ways. Before you go, Mike stops you. "Look, you seem like a pretty scary monster, but I need to ask you one thing." His voice lowers, and his eye narrows. You nod for him to continue, a little concerned at his intimidating demeanor. "Are you willing to go all the way?" He asks. "Um, I mean, Yes?" You respond. "Alright, I'll take it!" He claps his hands together, satisfied. "If you ever want any scare practice, call me or the guys up. Oozma Kappa is always looking for determined potential scarers." He quickly scribbles down Squishy's home phone number, and heads off, books in hand.
-You head back to your dorm, head filled with thoughts of the busy day you've had. Recounting your lessons and conversations, you must not have been looking where you were going, and you run right into someone. "Hey!" A scratchy voice barks, and you crash to the ground. "I'm so sorry, I must not have seen you!" You scramble to stand back up, brushing off your legs. "That's no excuse, I'm not even camouflaged." You look up, and realize the speaker is the reptilian monster from class this morning. "Oh, it's you!" You exclaim. "You probably don't remember me, I'm Y/N. We have scare 101 together?" You stick out your hand, and he eyes it suspiciously. He sighs and shakes it. "Boggs. Randall Boggs. You new to the scare program?" He asks. You nod happily. He's about to make a snarky comment before you cut him off. "You can turn invisible, right?" You ask.
-He's a bit surprised at how eager to speak to him you seem, and decides to allow you to continue. "Yeah, I can change my skin patterns too. 'S why I'm the best scarer in our class." He boasts. "Wow, I've never met someone who can do that before, is it hereditary?" He answers a few questions you have, clearly happy to talk about himself. After a bit, you feel a bit silly from asking him so much. "Sorry to talk your ear off, maybe I'll see you in class?" You ask. He pauses, but nods. "Sure. I look forward to seeing you scare." He slinks off, back into the darkness of the campus at night. You smile to yourself, thinking about how lucky you are to make friends.
-Back at the frat houses, two conversations take place. At Oozma Kappa, Terri talks up your scare techniques to Mike and the others, with his brother chipping in here and there. "They used a crackle roar in the scare simulator the other day, and I almost screamed!" Terri exclaims, chatting with the others. Mike heads into the kitchen, and sees Sulley by the fridge. "They seem pretty excited by the new scarer, huh?" Sulley says, and Mike nods. "Good, I hate to say it, but I think these guys need some friends outside of the fraternity." Sulley shakes his head. "You need some friends outside of the frat." He teases, only making Mike agitated. "Wha- I have friends! I have you know I am very popular with the lunch ladies..."
-Meanwhile, a different conversation takes place over at the number one fraternity on campus, Roar Omega Roar. Johnny Worhtington is sat in the living room, watching the college Monsterball broadcast on the sports channel. A door closes and he sees a bit of movement coming from the entryway. "Boggs, aren't you gonna say hi?" He asks, grinning when he hears an annoyed groan come from the stares. Another small breeze, and Randall appears beside the large monster. "I'm kind of busy, Johnny." He spits, and Johnny puts his hands up in surrender. "Calm down, just seeing how you're doing. I saw you talking with the new scare student." Randall pauses, and turns to face Johnny."And?" He pushes. "And... I know you share a class with them, are they any good?" He asks. "Yeah, not seen anything crazy yet, but yeah." Randall responds, prompting Johnny to nod. "Good, good." He returns to watching his T.V., clearly thinking about something. Randall watches him for a few moments, before shaking his head and heading back upstairs.

Bojack Horseman Genetics (spoilers)
I need to puzzle this out.
In Bojack Horseman, there are humans and anthropomorphic animals. They are capable of mating and having viable offspring. If one parent is a human and the other is an animal, the child could be human or animal. We know this because:
1) When Diane was pregnant with Mr. Peanutbutter, the fetus was a dog
2) Hollyhock is a horse with a horse father and human mother
3) Charlotte, a deer, had kids with a human. One kid was a deer, and the other was a human
4) The boy that Bojack mistakes for Todd has a human father and bird mother
5) Ruthie, a porcupine, has a human mother and porcupine daughter
Those are the only interspecies relationships I could think of off the top of my head. However, I still have questions
First off, what happens when two animals of different species have a child? We know that same-species animals just give birth to the same species (Princess Caroline, Bojack, most of the animal characters).
Princess Caroline is pregnant with Ralph, a mouse, but she has a miscarriage and I don't think it's ever confirmed what species the fetus was. I think it's safe to assume that it would either be a mouse or a cat.
HOWEVER
What if it was someone like Hollyhock or Penny who was having a child with an animal? Do both of them have a "human gene" that could show up? Or if they were having a child with another hybrid who also carried the human gene, could those two animals have a human child?
And what about Charlotte's human son Trip? Does he carry a "deer gene"? If he and another hybrid human had a child, could they have an animal? And if so, which animal would it be? Would the chances of having an animal be increased if Trip's partner also had a deer parent?
Or does it not work like that? Is it possible that whatever animal/human you are, is the only kind of gene you can pass on and the other gene gets "erased"? (So Hollyhock/Penny could only have a human if they had a child with a human, regardless of that human's ancestry. Or Trip could only have an animal if he had a child with an animal).
I have more questions but they're more random, so I'm gonna list them here:
- We see that birds in this universe lay eggs, despite being more or less human from the neck down. Would a bird having a human child still lay an egg, or would they only lay an egg for a bird child? Could a human bring a bird child to term in a human uterus? Or would a human giving birth to a bird child lay an egg??
- The humans in this universe have to be genetically different from humans in our world right? Obviously yes, because they're capable of having viable offspring with any species, but what are their reproductive systems like? I mean, every species in the world has to be capable of giving birth to any other kind of species. Like in season five, when Sadie gives birth to a porcupine child and seems relatively fine. Or, like I said in the previous question, would a mother's body automatically adapt to whatever animal child she was carrying? Or are all babies born the same way?
- We know that animals of the same species who have children tend to have children the same way that animals does (like when Rutabega and his wife have like seven kids at the same time). Would stuff like this apply if Rutabega was having kids with a human (and the kids were rabbits)?
- Don't even want to get into how food works in this universe.
- In the first episode of Season 6 Todd has to get black market porcupine milk for Ruthie. Is this because PC is older or because her cat milk wouldn't be compatible with Ruthie (a porcupine)?
- Could someone have fraternal twins, one animal one human? Or if it were two animals, two different species in the same womb? I assume yes, since with fraternal twin the eggs are fertilized separately. But what if each required a different type of pregnancy (like a bird and a human)?
Every question leads down a rabbit hole so I need to stop myself. Like I get the whole point of the animals is you're not supposed to think too much about it but I am thinking too much about it.

I've posted about my OC before but deleted it because I wasn't fully secure with her as a character.
Basically, she was starting to come across as flat and I didn't want that. I wanted her to be a bit more fleshed out before I talked about her and dropped her into this world.
So far, I have a clear image of what I want her to be, at least where her background is concerned:
Her family, at least her parents, are highly religious (southern baptist). She still holds some trauma because of it (and being transported to the Devildom...does not help).
She is a social worker and teaches group therapy sessions for individuals who suffered from religious trauma. Despite liking her work, she makes little money and is rather disillusioned about it.
She has three siblings, all of them boys. The eldest brother is her fraternal twin (born a day before her). They do not get along, though at one point they were very close.
She has a tendency of acting a bit recklessly, especially when she needs to prove a point.
Like all most individuals working in a public-facing field, she has a bit of a drinking problem.
Her birthday is December 25th, making her a Capricorn. Her parents think she’s a "miracle baby." She finds it ironic considering her sign is linked to the devil.
As her mother states: "Pushing out your brother was the easy part, yet you had to be a bit more stubborn. Should've known that was nothing more than a sign of things to come".
Her sins are pride (her way is the right way and nothing can tell her otherwise. She was right to cut off her family. She was right to move away. She was right in being alone. Doesn't matter if she has regrets. Doesn't matter if her parents want to reconnect) and lust (in relation to knowledge: when one knows more, one cannot be manipulated. One must seek knowledge regardless of who it hurts. Regardless of the risk. Regardless of who they must leave behind and what they will ultimately become as a person after learning it).
I'm working on an introductory story for my OC. It more than likely will be a one-shot, though I have so many ideas surrounding her.
Anyway, I'm also open to hearing about everyone else's MCs/OCs, especially if they're older. The more fucked up the better.

Hello. I found your blog today and it is fantastic. Thank you very much for the content but reading it made me wonder something and I hope you can help me. I have two characters, they are twin sisters and one of them has a lazy eye + strabismus (which I myself have!) and another blindness (before it was total blindness from birth but now that I have investigated I am changing her type of blindness) but before to do that I need to know if that is possible? This could be a dumb question but I mean can two twins have visual diagnoses of this nature at the same time? Thanks in advance for any help!
It is possible but very rare. I did a little bit of research and this is what I found:
So you didn't specify if the twins were identical or fraternal twins, but I thought I'd look up strabismus and if it's genetic, and here is a quote from this study:
"The heritability of concomitant strabismus is supported by twin studies, which reveal a concordance rate of 73% to 82% among monozygotic twins and 35% to 47% among dizygotic twins. The higher concordance between dizygotic twins than siblings likely reflects the influence of environmental risk factors."
Monozygotic twins are identical and they happen when an embryo splits in two, resulting in two distinct organisms with the same source DNA.
Dizygotic twins are fraternal and occur when ovulation (creating the egg cell) results in two different egg cells, which are then fertilized by different sperm cells. Fraternal siblings share the same percentage of DNA that siblings from separate pregnancies share.
So it's possible both siblings could have strabismus. You didn't specify what the second twin's diagnosis is, so I can't comment on how rare that is.
However, the likelihood of both twins experiencing blindness is increased if the mother had complications during pregnancy or delivery. Premature birth (which is common in twins, regardless of whether they're identical or fraternal) can cause underdeveloped eyes.
Vaginal birth carries the risk of newborns being exposed to bacteria and developing neonatal conjunctivitis. However, many doctors choose to deliver twins via a C section (cesarian) during delivery.
If the mother has an untreated STD it can result in birth defects, including blindness. Untreated chlamydia can result in Chlamydia trachomatis, in which the baby contracts a bacterial infection during vaginal birth.
Syphilis can also result in congenital birth defects but most babies born to mothers with untreated syphilis are stillborn. If they live, the infants are extremely sickly and will likely have multiple disabilities if they survive infancy. If you're worried about medical realism and you are not writing historical fiction, I would steer clear of this one.
So for you and other authors interested in characters blind from birth, I would consider what science and medical care the mothers had during pregnancy when deciding what path to go with. I hope this helps and thank you for asking :)

How is Airbending culture affected by the fact that men and women inhabit separate temples? How would that affect the raising of their children? In fact what is life like for an air nomad child, given that they don't have families. Do they view children as something that inhibits freedom?
(I hope you don't mind me trying to restart a conversation we started on chapter 2 of "a mother's love")
First off, sorry it took me so long to answer this! I don't really have an excuse, I just forgot about it. Secondly... I anticipate this will probably be kinda long so I'll preemptively put a cut.
We'll start with what we know: children are born in the Eastern and/or Western Air Temples, which are inhabited by the nuns. Children of both sexes also seem to live there for a time before being separated some time after, definitely before the age of eleven or twelve.
I personally look at this and go "children are separated by sex around five or six", which is also when I headcanon most bending children would demonstrate some ability, so this would also be the point during which nonbending children are removed from Air Nomad society and are given to vetted families in the Fire Nation/Earth Kingdom around the temples. They'd have some memories before this point as they grow up, but probably not all that many. Because children are separated into two different temples and female children are likely mixed between East and West, regardless of which they were born in, it would be easy enough for children to forget about friends and assume they were sent to a different temple, if they didn't already know nonbending children are sent away.
The Air Nomads definitely don't have the concept of the nuclear family and children seem to be raised communally, first by the nuns and then by the monks (if male). I've seen some theories that children are assigned a particular guardian and Gyatso was Aang's, but I personally view in in more of a "Aang was special" case, needing advanced instruction by Gyatso. Otherwise this would lead to a lot of attachment. This means that Air Nomad children would automatically assume they can trust every adult and due to their smaller societies, they'd probably know everyone in their temple by name after a couple of years. This leads to Air Nomads being given a stereotype of being somewhat naive. I'd think younger children would sleep in communal dormitory like areas, getting separate rooms at around ten or so.
I also believe that children were allowed a lot more freedom of movement than in other nations, possibly being allowed to travel between temples in groups together with a bit of adult supervision from six or seven, with freedom growing and restrictions lessening as they age and gain mastery in airbending.
Because children are raised communally in this way, the biggest "restriction of freedom" there is in having children is the nine months in which pregnant nuns would have to take it easier (with probably the last five of those months including relative restriction to their temple). This was probably viewed as a somewhat unpleasant, but temporary process. There was none of the further restrictions involved in raising a child to adulthood for the mother. They probably had parentage records only for the purpose of avoiding inbreeding, if they had them at all (given the time period is... yeah).
Some Air Nomads look at their family records when they come of age, but few of them really care. It's mostly a "oh, that one kid I tutored was my little brother, cool!" or "huh, I am related to that girl that looks almost exactly like me".
The only real times family bonds are important is when it comes to twins. There are beliefs that twins are spiritually tied together and their spiritual growth can be harmed by separating them when they're too young, so twins are never separated. This means that fraternal twins of opposite sexes tend to spend half of their time in North/South Temples and East/West Temples, possibly splitting autumn and spring in half for it.
Because of this, aside from the odd twin, most children won't see members of the opposite sex on a day to day basis (although they regularly see each other while traveling and due to festivals). This can lead to awkwardness, but people try to counteract that as much as possible with travel and thorough health classes.
Romance is probably also interesting, but I don't even know how to approach that. I'd have to think on it more.

@still-a-morosexual-help
I was actually thinking about a hybrid au type thing, I just didn't know the word for it at the time. So thanks for that. :)
Now that that's out of the way, here's Gwen's and Solomon's relationship.
(It's undercut because it might be long.)
Originally, I was going to make Solomon and Gwen ex-partners (because drama), but I decided against it. So now they're just friends that may have had benefits at some point.
I want to say that they met when Gwen was like 25/26 (maybe earlier? Like at 24?) and Solomon was slightly less old. I also kinda wanna say that they meet when- okay, so you know how Solomon at some point in his life got nearly burned alive or something?
(He mentions it in 45-4 if you pick the bottom option.)
They met around the point in time where those things were happening (and while those things probably happened in the past, I like to think that sorcerers are petty... Like really petty, so they happened for a long, long, long time.)
Gwen is sorta used to magic, demons, angels, all that stuff (youngest siblings are half-demons, childhood best friend is a somewhat powerful (I guess) sorcerer, etc), so I just imagine her having some vaguely powerful sorcerer/witch ex that put them in the same position as Solomon.
They help each other out with their situations and when the other needs help they call the other for assistance.
(Usually Gwen did called Solomon and not the other way around because... Just because you're used to magic doesn't mean you have any. Gwen always paid Solomon back though, mainly with sorcerer things (getting him herbs, being a guinea pig, etc, etc) and dates.)
(Also, random question. Would you believe me if I told you that I made up this relationship between these two just because I wanted to be friends with the other human? Just wondering.)

Alright. Time for the kids.
So the kids were originally supposed to be Gwen and Solomon's (you know, ex-partners), but I decided against it because if that were the case, that means their kids would just be... Alone in the human world.
(This was also pre-modern Gwen. If interested, I can go into detail about what she was like.)
So. Uh. Yeah. It gets a little weird. Especially since she can't immediately go back to them...
Let's move on before I keep critiquing what I thought was a good idea and come to the present.
Nowadays, I make the kids adopted, and Gwen (at like 20/21) finding them on the street. And you know how in the Guardian Devilgram Mammon scares away the robber from the kid? I thought that was a cool idea, so I stole it.
After making the robbers (there's two in my version) leave, Gwen just. Takes them back to her house. (It was starting to rain and it was also night time. Though even if it wasn't, I'd make Gwen do that regardless.) She adopts/raises the kids and that's the end of that.
Okay. Time for general info.
At the point where Gwen's going to the Devildom, they're about 16/17 (I'm leaning towards 16, but I haven't decided yet).
They actually are related to Gwen (on her dad's side, which is also the Lilith Side™), but some of Gwen's extended family isn't the best with kids. Or in general.
They're fraternal twins. One's a girl, the other's... Honestly? I haven't decided their gender. Maybe they don't have one.
The two kids are staying primarily with Gwen's siblings, but occasionally they with Gwen's grandparents.
(This has nothing to do with anything, but I kinda wanna make them half-demons. Like I said, nothing to do with anything.)
Alright, if you've made it this far, there's something I have to admit... I've only thought about their names and appearances so far.
I know, tragic. So because of that, this section will actually be quick.
Ace was the first kid I probably thought of, because she's more concrete than her sibling (translation: I can picture her in my head).
She has red hair, black eyes, and slightly tanned skin. She usually wears crop-tops and ripped jeans.
Clover is a bit less concrete, but I do have an idea of them.
They have black hair, red eyes, and Clover also has slightly tanned skin. They usually have a hoodie on (or a long sleeved shirt) with sweats.

That's all I have for you currently. If you have any questions, let me know. :)
Full name: Gwendolyn Collins
Age: Late 20s - Early 30s (Honestly, I have not decided)
Pronouns: She/They
Sexuality: Pansexual
Race: Part sheep, part human (and maybe something else? (Also when I said “half sheep” I meant “part sheep”).)
Backstory: Convoluted. Just the way I like it. (Seriously though, I could totally just take Gwen out of OM! and use her for something completely different and it would still work.)
Family Members: Parents, some half siblings and two kids (yes, I gave her kids)
Occupation(s): Actress/Model (Originally supposed to be an idol/singer)
Why did she sign up?*: A friend of theirs said that she couldn't survive in hell for a year when the program was revealed. Gwen signed up just sighed up to prove him wrong.
(*In my OM! AU-rewrite thing, I made it so that everyone that had a form that Lucifer/Diavolo/Barbatos read though willingly gave that info, otherwise it's a bit... Yeah.)
(@still-a-morosexual-help) Here's Gwen's character sheet(?). Hope you like it. If you have any questions, you can ask.

My headcanon is one of my Ryder twins has it, and the other doesn't. They were both exposed via their mother's work. In Rachel's case, it became biotics, while Josh fell into the majority of children who see no effects from it. They're fraternal twins so regardless of the stage of development where biotic aptitude "takes hold", I don't see why they should need to have the same response to exposure. (And as for a genetic component, again, fraternal twins.)
An important question about biotics
If one of the Ryder twins is a biotic, is the other biotic too?
I am leaning towards tentative yes.
