What Donna says ≠ what the doctor is

Please, i’m seeing more and more posts criticising the inconsistencies with the doctor's gender and it's not inconsistent. Donna's perception of the doctor is consistent, and the doctor perception of himself is also consistent. Those 2 things just don't match. And we’ve got 2 more episodes with them so it most likely will be brought up again.

What are your top three favorite fanfic tropes and why?

Hihi! Sorry, I kinda died to the online world cause of college (and continued into the break TvT) but uhhh gosh top 3?

1- I can count Hurt/Comfort as my top, if that counts TvT, something about having someone watch you fall apart, just to stay and help you put yourself together again is, hilariously, comforting, as the person who spent age 11-15 comforting/parenting those I called friends.

2- I will say, I don't keep track of the tropes I read, nor what counts as such, I'm reading a lot of Chreon atm, after getting into Resi again, and I'd say my fav there is probably different Meet-cutes and such (if that's the term) (I'm a sucker for Chris being in Raccoon city with Leon)

3- Hmmmmmm, I'm also partial to a form of.... Enemies to Lovers? But like, friendly enemies to lovers? The sort where like, either its a literal enemy, who gets redeemed (or even brought down to the bad side, enemies are enemies no matter the side they're on) or it can be like, rivals, someone aloof brought into the others fold of friends? (This started in MHA, perpetuated through Batfam, and is living well in Chreon atm TvT)

Well for one, everything u created about terran culmets. I was watching the end of S1 today and I was soo confused when Paul shows up and then is confused and doesn't recognize HUGH. Like... what?? It was weird.

I also saw the part where they run out of spores and have to use their entire crop to escape the Mirror universe and I kept expecting Paul to have a necklace with a sample of the spores just in case around his neck and he didn't and then I remembered that's also something from a fanfic.

Also Tracy & Paul being friends...

I often forget that Q & Picard weren't supposed to be this homoerotic relationship that somehow manages to have a ton of tension AND seems like an old married couple at the same time?? Idk.

To me, what is so fantastic about One Piece Fan Letter is the emphasis on the way the Straw Hats have created these connections in the lives of people they have never met. The ending scene, with all the hands putting together the puzzle pieces, and the way that all these connections came together in one dazzling way-- I loved that. I teared up at that. Wherever the Straw Hats go, they leave behind all of these puzzle pieces for people to put together and create bonds that would not have existed had the Straw Hats not shown up!

And it also just... Makes me so in love with the concept of the world after Luffy becomes King of The Pirates. I know that Oda has the final chapter planned in his head, and I doubt we will really see the long lasting effects of Luffy achieving the title of Pirate King + his dream, and I really do not want a sequel series ala Boruto or Yasahime, but.... I want to see a world in which children believe they can become a Brave Warrior of the Sea thanks to Usopp, I want to see more children look at Nami and realize they don't NEED to have a Devil Fruit or Haki or muscles to have adventures. I want to see the next generation of the One Piece world believe so strongly in their dreams, that they set out to accomplish them.

One Piece Fan Letter really opened the door, I think, for more and more stories about the "regular" people in the world of One Piece, the people you don't see in the arcs because they're the nondescript background characters, and how the Straw Hat Crew has changed them. And I want that. To me, that is fantastic.
