A few metres away from where she was sitting, a small area of the water appeared to be glowing a bright pink, and Crystal found herself unable to look away, transfixed by the mysterious sight. The lights seemed to dance, a few blurry shapes moving around like fish – but they couldn’t be fish – could they? Either way, it was captivating. Without even thinking, she leaned closer to them, trying desperately to look at them in more detail. She was dangerously close to falling into the water.

Looking over his shoulder, he could see that she was following him. He picked up speed, turning a sharp corner into a clothes shop. He knew it was useless – how could he run from something conjured by his own mind? That didn’t seem to matter, though. In that moment, all logic had disappeared from his brain, and his only thought was run. Run, before something inside you breaks.

It took some getting used to, but anything was worth it when there were other things mixed in with hers. She wasn’t alone anymore - she had Crystal. Crystal’s clothes were hung amongst hers in the surprisingly large wardrobe in their room, Crystal’s music posters joined her anime ones on the wall, Crystal’s long purple jacket hung right next to her thick green one on the back of the bedroom door. Having a roommate was brilliant, but even better that she was her girlfriend.

Grief was a strange old thing. Edwin had only known Niko for a few weeks and now, a month after her death, he still felt the pain of losing her weighing him down as though they had been friends for years. In reality, he’d been grieving her longer than they had known each other, and that was a difficult thing to come to terms with. Theoretically, ghosts could have eternity, so time and emotions didn’t quite correlate in the same way they would have if he were alive. If he were alive, of course he would still be grieving, just as Crystal was, but a few weeks were barely anything compared to how long he had existed. Niko had merely been a blip in time for him, and yet here he was, sitting at his desk preparing for a new client as a way of distracting himself from how much it hurt, from how often he saw a girl lying on the ground, eyes glazed over, blood gushing from her chest, whenever he closed his eyes.

Nothing in the universe could have stopped Niko Sasaki from tearing a hole between the dimensions and fighting her way back to Crystal and Edwin and Charles. It was strange how strongly she felt towards the three of them, despite having known them for such a short period of time. Perhaps it was because they were the only friends she’d ever had that really seemed to understand her, that wanted to understand her.

Niko loved moments like these with Crystal, where she was calm and relaxed rather than her usual fiery, snarky, occasionally short-tempered self. Of course, Niko loved that Crystal too. She loved all of her, even the parts she was still trying to accept. Because no matter how mean she’d been in the past, no matter how often she lost her temper or started an argument with Edwin, she was still the person who offered her life for Niko’s after barely knowing her for two days, the person who became her friend when it felt like she was entirely alone, the person who tried her best to help her deal with her grief from her dad and convince her to get back into contact with her mom, the person who held her and cried for her as she died and was the first to pull her into a hug when she returned. She was gorgeous and messy and imperfect, and Niko loved her.

I've always enjoyed watching fnaf playthroughs but never got super attached to the story or any characters.

...And then Security Breach came out.

I like sun and moon's designs from the start, and when I started seeing animatics and stuff on youtube i was like 'haha, wow, what quirky guys'

and then i got security breach and played the daycare section during one of my streams.

Something about actually being in the digital space with sun and moon set off the Feral Person Fuse in my brain and I've been hooked ever since (this was about two weeks ago.)
